Sept 2023 and the Belligerence of Mars

With a very active Mars (the warrior), a favorite planet of Mars rising Mr. Trump, it's worth noting that the current legal battles going on now fall within the time frame of the Summer Solstice 2023 Horoscope until the Autumn Equinox 2023 Horoscope 'takes over' on September 23rd. A shift of energies within the Collective will be noticeable, and significantly, Venus-ruled Libra is the sign of the Scales of Justice.

Significant to Trump's current legal challenges is his natal Pluto rising in the Autumn EQ chart, and this necessarily brings along Trump's Mars-Saturn midpoint (the death axis - R. Ebertin) with its destructive energies and 'intervention of a higher power' vibes. Set for Washington DC, the chart's Midheaven ('MC': The Goal) @29Aries+ is the position of belligerent Mars during Trump's January 6, 2021 coup attempt (failed, but ongoing). In addition, this happens to be the position of the Sun in the "first shot" Horoscope of the American Revolution, as you can see if you wish.

And everyone who's paying attention has heard the maga/reich-wing shout-outs attempting to link their Trumpian sore loser sedition efforts with the 1775 Revolution while calling for another civil war like the loose cannon troublemakers and zealots they are. For my part, they behave much more like the Confederates of the 1860s than the patriots of the Revolution whose battles and victories ultimately led to the estabishment of our democratic Republic, a form of government that the current crop of reich-wing zealots now work against.

Eclipse Cycles Bring Similar Conditions 'Round Again

So as I type this post, we operate under the auspices of April 2023's 7 North Solar Eclipse at its critical 29th degree, until the 7 South Solar Eclipse @21Libra 'takes over'. And perhaps you've noticed that the Eclipse in the 7 North Saros Series has previously been termed, Hitl*r's Birthday Eclipse by yours truly. Well, Herr Adolf does have his modern-day followers who imagine that they need to complete the little Austrian's mission of world domination - as if theirs is a worthy goal when all they offer society is evil and suffering.

And yes, America has been in such an evil Saturn-Pluto pickle before - and democracy survived. An example of a watershed moment? The Big Brazen N*zi Rally of 1939 NYC (horoscope shown) in which a gaggle of 'em brashly latched on to the reputation of George Washington who walked away from power as the archetypal example for all future US presidents to follow - all but malignant narcissist Donald Trump, that is.

And so there's an example from 1945 that I hope for America's sake will be followed now via the "Trump Trials": that the sadistic brutes of the 1930s and 1940s FAFO!

The Solar Eclipse that influences all US Presidential Elections

As you know, January 7, 1789 is the date that Congress required states to choose their electors for our country's first-ever presidential election. A month later on February 4th, George Washington was chosen by said state electors, then sworn into office on April 30, 1789 in New York City.

Of interest may be the Solar Eclipse Horoscope of the eclipse from the Saros Series in which these significant events occurred and were influenced by - the 7 North of November 27, 1788 @6Sag15, horoscope shown below.

Consequently, on that November day in 1788, fixed star Antares, a headstrong warrior star which can bestow honor (aka, The Watcher of the West) was 'eclipsed' which strengthens both the eclipse and the star. The eclipse degree's rounded-up Sabian Symbol of '7 Sagittarius' = "Cupid Knocking At the Door"; keyword: ALLUREMENT, which positively speaks of "enlarged experience," and negatively indicates: "self-exaltation and unbridled desire." Disagree if you wish, but to me this relates to America's vast appetite for such endeavors as territorial conquest and expansion, pursuing extreme wealth, plus, other indications of imperialism.

And with asteroid Cupido conjunct the Goal Point of the eclipse chart ('MC'), corporatism is on the agenda of our founding plutocrats (corporatism is what brought us to this continent, after all). Yet with corporate charters no longer expiring as they did in olden days, perhaps we can agree that the appetite of America's style of predatory corporatism has gotten completely out of control through the centuries like a parasite consuming its host. In fact, the much touted American consumerism has created a wealthy elite class but for the 99%, the Plutocratic path of exploitation of the masses has led We the People to a quagmire of loss and the tragic realization that what we're left with is an empty, so-called "American dream." Plutocrats made their fortunes off our backs, but now they're done with us like the corporatists in a badly written Ayn Rand novel.

Besides, they have better places to be than a hollowed out America - and fancy rocket ships to ride on!

So below is the 7 North Horoscope of November 27, 1788 which on a sublimal level, influences all US presidential elections, plus, a partial list of other instances of 7 North Eclipses is penned on: the initial 7 North of October 2/3, 1103 @15Lib29 (conjunct US 1776 Saturn), the 'Fascism Rising' Eclipse of February 24, 1933 @5Pisces28 (conjunct 1788 Saturn @4Pis34, 12th house), and the upcoming 7 North Eclipse arriving on April 20, 2023 @30Aries (Herr Adolf's "birthday eclipse" of 2023: a forewarning):

So am I attempting to implicate George Washington as a vintage version of a fascist or a Nazi from way back? Certainly not. But the repetition of 7 North Solar Eclipse themes of "very deep, long-hidden passion that takes people by surprise" and "lust" - to which I must add "blood lust" because of current actions and threats by thugs and barbarians of the Republican-Tr*mp Party - suggests that there are other ways to express 7 North themes, collectively or personally, than simply using primal violence against one's fellow citizens. For as with everything on Earth, motivation is the guiding factor for actions taken, and during our country's Revolutionary era, the presence of warmongering Antares conjunct the 7 North solar eclipse made sense for the purposes of gaining independence from Britain and establishing self-governance, a beacon of hope for the entire world.

But these days, their negative motivations turn seditious acts against the American people and the US government into treason committed by power-hungry hooligans with anti-societal intentions and overlaid with forms of fake "Christianity" that 'enjoys' a death cult mentality in which "blood lust" has gained an obsessive hold. And strangely enough, their deluded version of reality is a nightmarish dream for the rest of humanity.

Freedom Poised Upon the Fourth Hinge Point of History

Dear America: Keep Democracy Avoid Barbaric Fascism!

In a recent Hartmann Report, progressive author and broadcaster Thom Hartmann writes about The Turning Points of History, or Hinge Points, and how we are now at The Fourth Great Turning of the 80-year cycle when once again democracy must be defended against sabotage by authoritarian oligarchs and the pillaging dictators who act as their figureheads: greedy barbarians, all.

America: Home of Democracy and the Light of Freedom

Here's the list of Great Turnings through US history but rather than bore you with my own interpretations of them (all are anti-democracy), I'll simply recommend a reading of Thom's above linked article.

The First Great Turning: the American Revolution;

The Second Great Turning: the Civil War;

The Third Great Turning: the Republican Great Depression (shown: the 1929 'Black Tuesday' Horoscope) and World War II; also see Putin: Ukraine 2022 vs Hitler: Poland 1939;

The Fourth Great Turning: a seditious Donald Trump ascends to (or coups - jc) the US Presidency with the aid of Russia and possibly other oligarchies, soon pulling the US out of "free world" programs such as the UN Human Rights Council, UNESCO, the Paris Accords, the Iranian nuclear deal, etc. - basically his attempts to end the World Order established after World War II - and proceeding to chip away at NATO on behalf of Vladimir Putin who, as we now see in Ukraine, seeks to expand Russian territory no matter the cost - and NATO is an obstacle.

So here we are: with fascist racists and their neo-nazi cousins challenging democracy, a free world, and our Republic once again.

America 1776: Enlightenment Principles not Religion and Joe Biden Signs a Bill!

Admittedly, with the ongoing transit of Neptune in Pisces opposing America's 1776 Neptune in Virgo, religious persecution is only one of the effects of the opposition along with a generational clash of ideals, ideologies, and beliefs. Oceanic Neptune, planet of inspiration, spirituality, and the Divine Source, is fancifully shown in the above pencil drawing rising or ascending and by this I attempt to symbolize in this post the rise of certain religious factions over America's tradition of secularism.

Yet as most Americans must know, this nation was founded upon Enlightenment Principles inspired by those of the European Enlightenment, aka, the Age of Enlightenment. Now one consequence of such rational, lofty principles was the American Revolution so how dumb is it that far-right politicians and their Jan 6th insurrectionists have used "1776" as a rallying cry while promoting their unBiblical brand of religion.

For we know that most of the Founding Fathers, as we like to call them, were not Christians but Deists with beliefs nothing like those of the current crop of power-mad 'Christian' Nationalists promoting authoritarian theocracy for America and pretending that the nation has always been what they call, Christian. In fact, though unfairly tarred with an anti-religiois brush, Founding Father Thomas Paine, author of The Age of Reason, was not against God at all,

"It is only by exercise of reason that man can discover God. Take away that reason, and he would be incapable of understanding anything." Right there we find irrational religionists with their highly emotional biases on behalf of some sort of bizarre religion-slash-politics and demonstrating a complete lack of reasoning ability.

Great News! At 4:02 pm edt I watched President Joe Biden sign his progressive Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, a transformative piece of legislation on behalf of America. With Sagittarius rising in DC (19Sag33) and chart-ruler Jupiter Rx in Aries and making no applying aspects (no interference like a VOC Moon?), I hope things proceed well with this bill, although delays are suggested (Rx). However, Venus in Leo rules the Midheaven (The Goal), both Venus and Jupiter are money planets, and Venus makes a beneficial trine with Jupiter so we have that going for us! Meanwhile, the leader (Sun) is apex of a YOD pattern with the spiritually infused Neptune-Pluto sextile at its base. Therefore, it was time for the President to act and bring resolution to the many crises in US society, in this, a "season of substance." And if we read the YOD trio as a midpoint picture, we find: "transforming life to alter or otherwise change existing patterns of personal growth" (M. Munkasey). As he said in his pre-signing remarks, Joe Biden believes in America and the American people!

Now back to my fuss:

So actually, these far-right seditionists are anarchists, more political than religious and yet are supported by the Christian Right. (In other words, they joined forces in order to grab power and control.) So you've probably noticed that the movement promotes a US government based on 1930s/1940s-style brutality, oppression, primal violence, and, in a word,nazism where might allegedly makes right. Of course, that's only if murder is "right," which it is not. A quick reading of the Ten Commandments tells anyone that.

Eclipse and Historical Cycles Echo One Another

Now some folks would have us believe that for these anti-societal criminals their 'time has come' but for America this was not the case in in the 1930s and it isn't written in stone now. However, on the level of timing, it's significant that a solar eclipse in the same Saros Series as the 'Nazis Rise To Power' Eclipse of 1932, the 6 South, will occur on October 25, 2022 @2Scorpio conjunct Venus which I've titled, 'A House Raising'. This we have discussed on SO'W before and seems to relate to congressional House seats in particular, so it's notable that the October 2022 6 South Eclipse will directly influence our 2022 Midterms - as will a Lunar Eclipse conjunct Uranus @16Taurus manifesting on that very day, and will 'eclipse' the Venus-Mars conjunction (16 Taurus) of a certain Austrian psychopath born long ago.

America Based on Enlightenment Principles not Religion

Meanwhile, on an astrological level, we can turn to Uranus for science and rationality and Neptune for faith and religion. Perhaps a quick consideration of the planetary pair of Uranus-Neptune may be interesting along with a note about their aspects back in 1776 when America was founded.

The Uranus-Neptune duo a la Michael Munkasey:

"Changes in social and political structures due to new ideals and dreams of the future; insight and invention; reforms with lofty ideals."

Now in each of the horoscopes for July 1 and July 4, 1776 that I considered for this post, I see that America enjoyed - enjoys - a Saturn-Uranus trine (ideals become reality; putting ideas into form) and a Neptune-Pluto trine (working for improved social reforms). Yet as you know, we've been under the sway of a transiting Saturn-Uranus square stirring up rebellion against authority which we've seen from riled up anarchists, seditionists, and saboteurs working against our country. And yes, these tumultuous activities have been interfering with progress (Uranus), of course, but somehow, on this very day, President Biden's signing of the Inflation Reduction Act has lifted up our 1776 Neptune-Pluto trine through the form of the transiting Neptune-Pluto sextile of opportunity nestled at the base of a YOD pattern - a turning point - activating a concerned leader to take action via today's Sun in Leo.

So I agree with Joe B: never bet against America!

America's Mercury-Pluto and Mars-Neptune

Astro-Notes for Lovers of American Democracy

A timeline of the American Revolutionary War lists events which closely relate to two of America's planetary cycles of significance: Mercury-Pluto (exact @24Cap54:40 on January 24, 1775; spying; lower left chart) and Mars-Neptune (exact @20Vir04:44 on June 22, 1775; fog of war; upper right chart) with their dual horoscopes displayed, below.

As you know, the planetary pairs of Mercury-Pluto (which were opposing one another in July 1776) and Mars-Neptune (square one another in July 1776) both contain information easily discernible and their potentials remain prominent in and for our nation. Two sources for updated information on planetary pairs may be found in Michael Munkasey's Midpoints: Unleasing the Power of the Planets (#ad) and Reinhold Ebertin's The Combination of Stellar Influences (#ad). Both books are invaluable when looking at Politics and Social Concerns through the excellent lens of Astrology.

So today, for my Friday pre-weekend post, you see above a dual image of the moments when these particular planetary pairs began new cycles along with my astro-notes squooshed in (mea culpa!) such as the Eclipse families (aka, Series) into which the new cycles fell across the victim-savior Virgo-Pisces axis; they are:

The January 1775 Mercury-Pluto Conjunction's 11 North (@13Vir28 which was then conjoined by warrior planet Mars Rx in Virgo, increasing implications for violence and willfulness: 11 North's theme = 'changing groups via ideas or travel'; annular), and the June 1775 Mars-Neptune Conjunction's more difficult 11 South @11Pis11, a Total Eclipse with extreme themes of 'methods/ideas fail, new systems are needed; any blocks may be violently or tragically removed' (paraphrasing Brady's Predictive Astrology #ad).

Eclipses: 'Wild Cards' of the Universe, Agents of Chaos

There are two major points to be aware of (if you're not already!) regarding 11 South:

1. The 11 South Eclipse prior to June 24, 1775 is also the Prenatal Solar Eclipse of the American Revolution (Eclipse exact on March 1, 1775 - so the Revolution began on April 19th between the cosmic snaphot of planetary conjunctions shown, above). And 2. A Solar Eclipse in the 11 South Saros Series will repeat on August 2, 2027 @10Leo so considering current 'power-grabbing' events, a cosmic heads-up is in order.

Because here's the thing: 10 Leo is the natal 12th house position of Herr Trump's Pluto and of his destructive, brutal Mars-Saturn midpoint - and a Pluto-Eclipse conjunction suggests potentials for criminal offenses, gang wars, and rape (R. Lineman) - the sort of cruel things that Republicans are already promoting, approving, or even instigating along with their wealthy enablers of a corporate (fascist) persuasion.

Now obviously, codger Trump may be out of the political picture by 2027 since he'll be 81 years old and possibly wheel-chair bound if he's around at all - especially since his natal Pluto will be 'eclipsed'. Besides, the Mars-Saturn midpoint is known as 'the death axis' (R. Ebertin) as we've seen him express against anyone who thwarts his selfish desires. (Holding grudges and taking revenge are his specialties, as you know.)

However, the global movement of authoritarianism and autocratic dictatorship of which Herr T has played the figurehead role of late will continue to be atop the to-do list of every saboteur and enemy of D/democracy - unless the world network of criminals is put back in its cage now. Of course, in the US there are some chances for criminal prosecutions in the offing, issuing from the current J6 public hearings in the House so we'll see if justice prevails. Yet we know that the old 'bringing a knife to a gunfight' method simply will not do - not when it comes to the globally-connected mobsters who bedevil, infiltrate, and undermine our country. Actually, such an inefficient method of fighting reminds me of America's problematic Mars-Neptune square of misdirected goals and misguided actions with what are sometimes self-destructive tendencies. This is crazy since usually, America acts with a 'might make right' attitude - so why not now when We the People need it most?

And so in closing, my feeling is that any dear reader who feels powerless against the current fascist onslaught should set their minds, if they haven't yet, toward Voting Blue in 2022 and again in November 2024, because Blue Tsunamis are the best hope that lovers of American Democracy have left - now that, for too long, such sobering issues have been neglected through our own apathy, and through gaslighting and misinformation.

And this neglect has brought the American people to a stark imperative that, the time to act on behalf of Democracy is now. There is no alternative.

The American Revolution's Mountain Pilgrimage

Just a quick post today, a quick view really, of the American Revolution's Pluto Return/s now in progress. Since we have eye witness accounts of the First Shot ("heard 'round the world") on April 19, 1775 5:00 am LMT Lexington, Massachusetts, this means we have a reliable sign and degree for the Revolution's very visible 10th house Pluto @26Cap41:33. As far as I know, there's no debate on this timing as there are with America's founding horoscopes.

And when we symbolically progress the American Revolution Horoscope to modern times, we find that a Secondary Progressed ('SP') New Moon perfects @00Cap41 on July 8, 2022 although not all astrologers agree with this method of looking ahead at how things evolve based on an entity's or event's radix chart. Personally I have no qualms with it and use the method as often as I like. So here's a view of April 1775's 'First Shot' Horoscope that started it all with the Revolution's SP New Moon notated. To me the timing of the July 2022 SP New Moon symbolically resonates with current insurrection events that its promoters like to call an 'American Revolution' (or 'Civil War2') and of course all New Moon phases are periods when plans are being seeded for new beginnings.

Below is a dual image of the 4th and 5th Pluto Returns with the first three exact Returns having already occurred on: April 5, 2021, May 19, 2021, and January 23, 2022:

Rounding up powerful Pluto's degree to "27 Capricorn" we have: "A Mountain Pilgrimage" which vibes with America's earliest founding days and the floating capstone and Eye of Horus atop the 13-step pyramid of power which we see in various forms such as America's Great Seal:

"27Capricorn" = "PERSEVERANCE; positive expression: a total reconcilation of mind and heart in an unquestioned devotion to some worth-while task at hand; negative expression" (shadow side; unconscious - jc): "satisfaction in superficial allegiances and a parade of false values" (M. E. Jones). Well, as an ancestral 'Child of the Revolution', I much prefer the positive expression, and I consider writing Stars Over Washington these 17 years to be a worth-while task.

Now pyramids are, of course, symbolic of the mountain archetype, a Capricorn mountain goat affair with Saturn-ruled Capricorn, the sign of government, law, and business. As you know, America reached the pinnacle of these realms and has instituted surveillance techniques extraordinaire but her global dominance now wanes - which marks a 'good' time for anarchists and zealots, both foreign and domestic, to forcefully take control of our nation, now erroneously under the bizarre sway of minority rule.

Unless We The People band together and stop the anarchists at the ballot boxes of 2022 and 2024. Let's persevere on behalf of American Democracy! For as Thom Hartmann always says, Democracy is not a spectator sport - get active!

America 2022: Violence vs Democracy

These days, it seems that there are two basic types of people in the world: those who value human life, and those zealous few who don't mind stealing life from other people especially if it advances their selfish cause.

Last January we saw them in action on Capitol Hill when they followed Herr Tr*mp's orders and marched to the Capitol Building where the mob breached the Masonic temple and viciously assaulted US Congress members, their staff, government workers, and those whose job it was to protect them - and that with the complicity of maliciously scheming Republican congress members and their enablers behind the scenes such as financial donors and corporate types. The 1/6 'MAGA" insurrection was Herr T's revenge against those who were certifying votes and tossing him from the Oval Office. But as you know, both the certification and The Toss were accomplished.

However, as many people agree, the orange menace is not yet done plaguing our country (his Mars rising in vain Leo opposes US natal Moon of We The People) so here's today's editorial by Alex Henderson, Fears of a 'civil war' are growing as MAGA chooses 'violence' over democracy.

Meanwhile, I still cheer for royal Regulus which rises with warrior Mars in Herr T's natal chart (assuming his birth time of 10:54 am is accurate on the morning of June 14, 1946 Jamaica, NY). You remember the 'caution' of Regulus, right? Yet we know that Tr*mp was born with expansive Jupiter at Station so he never acknowledges a boundary, limit, rule, tradition, or taboo!

So as you see, this is the horoscope of the deception-addled 'Mercury-Neptune' influenced Civil War of April 12, 1861 4:30 am Charleston, SC (inner) with the Civil War's Progressed ('SP') Full Moon which perfected @26Pis05 near where the reality-challenged, speculating pair of Jupiter and Neptune will meet on April 12, 2022 @23Pis59. And amazingly, the Civil War's SP Full Moon symbolically perfected on a significant date in US political history and the day of a difficult 4 South Solar Eclipse: December 14, 2020, which was also the day of the Electoral College Vote that favored President Joe Biden and led to sore loser Tr*mp's determination to take his revenge and 'stop the steal' (or commit it, more like).

Now I wonder if Herr T knows of the caution of starry Regulus, the fulfillment for which I cheer because he so deserves it: "Success if revenge is avoided; otherwise, all that's been gained will be taken away." As you've noticed, some of his gains have already been taken away.

And perhaps you'll agree that his 1/6 'coup' attempt was nothing if not his revenge.

When US Neptune Turned Rx by Progression

On January 20, 1953, East Portico, Capitol Building, Washington DC Dwight David Eisenhower was first inaugurated as President of the United States (page links to audio of his 1953 inaugural address). His was America's 42nd Presidential Inauguration.

A review of significant events during the year 1953 provides the curious with a snapshot of the era but one symbolic astrological event of interest to me is that America's natal Neptune (22Vir25) from July 4, 1776 turned retrograde ('Rx') by Secondary Progression ('SP') on June 10, 1953 @27Vir06:27.

In the day-for-a-year SP method the position of progressed Neptune corresponds to the real-time position of transiting Neptune on December 29, 1776. So as you can tell from the date, the American Revolution was in full swing and December 29th was the day that General George Washington and his troops re-crossed the Delaware River back into New Jersey after their victory at the Battle of Trenton. The dates and events fall within what is known as The Ten Crucial Days for America.

Now the house that our national Neptune resided in on July 4, 1776 depends upon the timing of the horoscope, and to make matters more complex, other dates are often used by various astrologers. One such is known as America's Powell Horoscope set for July 1, 1776 (7:09 pm LMT Philadelphia ASC 6Cap07; MC 29Lib56) with an 8th house Neptune @22Vir22. But no matter which 1776 chart is progressed, the sign and degrees remain the same (though perhaps with slightly different dates? I haven't progressed them all), and rounded-up, Neptune's Sabian Symbol for '23 Virgo' = "A Lion Tamer Rushes Fearlessly into the Circus Arena" which sounds appropriately embattled for the era and reminds me, if not you, of a belligerent America's continued focus through the centuries on opponents and foes, creating them where they previously didn't exist. Of course, betrayal is a common word where saboteur Neptune is concerned and the newer term "blowback" comes windily to mind thanks to the neo-con wars the American people were lied into.

And when we look at the phenomenon of retrogression of planets and their relationship to the Sun there are differences between natal and mundane planets, yes, but this post is meant only in a general sense. Not being an astronomer I shall leave it to you, dear reader, to investigate the cosmic mechanics of the matter if needed; therefore, what I type here is in relation to societal and political shifts in our country, its ideology and leadership due to our 1776 Direct Neptune's symbolic change into retrograde motion (1953) and how the planet's altered condition influences America's Neptunian functions in such realms as idealism, honesty vs dishonesty, media, and the longing for the unseen, among other things (amorphous, etheric Neptune, difficult to pin down!).

Meanwhile, quite a transformation can be observed via the Sabian Symbol for our SP Neptune in 1953 from 'taming lions' to: '28 Virgo' = "A Bald-headed Man Who Has Seized Power" (Is that you, Ike?). Dane Rudhyar gives this word picture a Keynote: "The sheer power of personality in times that call for decision." And adds that, "Everything bows to THE POWER OF THE WILL--divine, executively human, or Satanic" (An Astrological Mandala, DR; #ad).

And we should note that in our era, US natal Sun, once in Moon-ruled, patriotic Cancer, has progressed well into Pisces, often a shady, secretive sign with Jupiter-Neptune vibrations and this in part accounts for the prevalence of deception, veils, scandals, fraud, theft, and corruption now operative in US society and leadership much to the enjoyment of domestic and global criminal entities and networks of the anti-societal Neptune-Pluto persuasion. Thanks to these low-character jokers, knaves, and thieves, Neptune's undermining and sabotaging functions are starkly in evidence as we now are forced to see. However, since the 2020 Election and his Inauguration, President Joe Biden now expresses the compassionate side of Pisces, a vast improvement on behalf of the American people, imho!

So let's hone in on The Gaseous Giant with quoted text from expert astrologer Erin Sullivan's masterful book Retrograde Planets (#ad) concerning the topic of Neptune stationing by progression (slightly edited for clarity and noting that the Sun in a Political Astrology horoscope represents the leader, leadership, goal, ego:

When Neptune stations by progression in the chart, it means the Sun has progressed to such a point that its relationship with Neptune has undergone a subtle readjustment. It has been virtually stationary for years, anyway; the station is rarely marked by an event. {} Also, it might precipitate an unrealistic search {} for a teacher, whether that be a lover, guru, master or leader. {} relationships which fall short of the ideal can dissolve and disappear, leaving one in a state of suspension for some time while new evaluations of {} religious expression and spiritual resources are in progress.

Erin adds that "reference points begin to blur at the edges, resulting in a soft-focus reality" and here yours truly suggests that, besides the obvious religious reference mentioned above, America's symbolic Neptunian shift to Rx motion has made it easy for success-at-any-cost politicians, religious figures, and the elite and corporate classes they serve to gaslight the American people by deceit, propaganda, and disinformation, as they work to confuse and diffuse every issue that calls for facing reality in order to find practical solutions - and this sorriness actually began way back in the 1950s!

May 23, 2021: A few Astro-Notes concerning the indespensible Thomas Paine

While some confusion has existed over the correct birthdate (OS vs NS) and hour for Revolutionary author and Founder Thomas Paine, for my purposes I tend to use his January 29, 1737 11:30 am GMT Thetford, England chart with Ascendant 3Gemini48 rising along with karmic planet of restriction and authority, Saturn Rx 4Gem48. Of course, that's Mercury-ruled Gemini, sign of The Writer, Messenger, Communicator, and Orator (who used to read his works aloud to the public). Of interest is that an earlier version of my SolarFire software gave 2Gem46 which rounded up = "3 Gemini": "A Garden of the Tuilleries" which resonates with Paine's French Revolution involvement and his imprisonment in France.

Meanwhile, perhaps you, dear reader, are familiar with an old SO'W post of April 30, 2006 concerning Mr. Paine and a curious double transit in May 2006 to both his natal Sun and Chiron: Sun to Chiron and Chiron to Sun, a doubly emphasized, simultaneously occurring 'cosmic link' cross the centuries suggesting hints about The Chirotic Quest of Thomas Paine and perhaps activating his spiritual and/or ideological descendants. As you know, a conjunction of Sun and Chiron has to do with self-transformation but one doesn't have to be conscious of it for this to occur - which is a good thing since Mr. Paine definitely was unconscious at his eternal rest in 2006. Yet in life, idealism was prominent via his inspirational Neptune in Mercury-ruled Gemini posited in the 2nd house of Values (money was something of an issue; he's known for donating all profits from his writings to The Cause of liberty and independence, assuming that Congress would pay him later for his efforts but we know how that turned out).

As for the double transits of 2006, it's doubtful that such a noble quest by a Founding Father who promoted the era's noble Enlightenment principles (his Uranus-Neptune opposition!) could have been fulfilled from beyond the grave under the auspices of warmongering profiteers such as Bush-and-Cheney in 2006. For tragically, as you know, any noble course America once promoted, even honored, was cruelly diverted toward 'the dark side' decades ago, not to mention our nation's original stain of slavery from 1619 onward.

Meanwhile, for your consideration below is a bi-wheel of Thomas Paine's natal chart, center, with an outer horoscope of that very event, set for "just before daybreak" on September 25, 1819 New Rochelle, NY (source: Thomas Paine, by Craig Nelson, 2006), the reputed date and approximate time (using 5:00 am LMT) that Mr. Corbett, his son, and a hired hand, dug up the 'disrespected' remains of one of America's Founding Fathers, Tom Paine, who was denied burial in the Quaker cemetery due to his deism (and criticisms of his former colleagues) which had made him extremely unpopular in America (curiously, his natal Sun at "10AQ" = "A Popularity That Proves Ephemeral" - Jones):

Of course, it's possible that the unholy deed was begun earlier or later than the speculative hour of 5:00 am LMT shown here, but a change won't affect the fact that the 1819 South Node of the Moon @11Lib12 (in his natal 6th house), a Saturnian point of separation, sat squarely upon Paine's Prenatal Solar Eclipse (11Lib42) degree in the 9 New North Saros Series with its themes of 'great physical effort, and a potential for 'violence' (Brady's Predictive Astrology #ad) which suggests the hired hand's toil that morning. Digging a grave whether empty or inhabited involves great physical effort along with the upheaval of disruptive Uranus (20Sag47) at the 5:00 am IC (Ending; Roots) so this also describes the desecrating, even shocking, event as an 'uprooting' took place.

Plus, the 1819 Moon (11Sag41) of physical body was hiding mysteries of her own in the darker light of her Crescent phase (70:12) after floating beyond her opposition to Paine's natal Saturn rising (note that Paine's reputation and authority had suffered in England, too). Meanwhile, transit Jupiter Rx @7AQ28 was in process of conjoining Paine's natal Aquarian Sun (someone famous got 'carried away'!) while a triple line-up of planets all @27Pisces ("A Harvest Moon" - that's some 'harvesting', Mr. Cobbett) had moved beyond Tom's natal Venus-South-Node conjunction (separation from females; isolation) and are opposed by 1819 Venus @27vir40, venal planet of jealousy, envy, and vanity.

Additionally, Tom's natal North Node of meetings and destiny was rising at 5:00 am, and the Sun @1Lib28 was conjunct Nemesis (the unbeatable foe). Well, Cobbett was certainly that, for Old Tom had had no say in the matter of his relocation whatsoever. At least Mr. Cobbett eventually thought better of his controversial actions on that morning and he did stop his criticism of Mr. Paine at some point. Still, that's a mighty harsh, cruel Saturn-Pluto duo surrounding wounded Chiron there, isn't it? And all in Pisces, sign of the victim - and with 1819 Neptune, planet of erosion, undermining, mourning, and loss, conjunct what may just be Tom Paine's natal 8th cusp of Death and the Occult. To me it seems that Mr. Cobbett probably had some measure of exploitation in mind.

Then a wider view reveals that 1819 Neptune in Sagittarius was opposing Tom's natal Neptune in Gemini (sign of the pampheteer) which denotes that, yes, Thomas Paine was a victim of persecution during his lifetime and even, as we witness here via the lens of Astrology, in death.

Now naturally, several other chart factors are noteworthy so I shall trust you, dear reader, to locate them if you're curious.

In closing, here are details concerning the life and career of William Cobbett (b. March 9, 1763 Farnham, Surrey; d. June 18, 1835 Normandy, Surrey) provided by his Wikipedia bio page where you'll find that Cobbett's last years unfortunately were marked by a case of paranoia.

A Cosmic Time Link between 1775 and 2027: Will the Old System Fail?

Dear Reader: although I realize that for many people this particular solar connection from the Revolutionary era to our day may seem unfortunate and dangerous, facing reality is always the best course! For dark monsters cannot be vanquished unless and until we turn and face them squarely in the stark, realistic light of day.

February 22, 2021: On SO'W in 2012 the Horoscope of the American Revolution was published timed by the First Shot April 19, 1775 5:00 am LMT Lexington, Massachusetts (via contemporary accounts). Today let's consider a few astro-notes concerning the 11 South Prenatal Solar Eclipse Saros Series ('PE') which the Revolutionary War for Independence from monarchy fell into and look ahead to the next manifestation of an 11 South solar eclipse which, of course, retains the same difficult eclipse themes as in 1775. Now as you know, all eclipses are 'cosmic blinks' from Above and are considered 'wild cards of the Universe', disruptive in that Uranian way and often inconveniently uncovering secrets, scandals, and triggering changes of direction.

Now the first Solar Eclipse of 1775, the year of our Revolution, perfected on March 1, 1775 @11Pis11 and significantly, was a Total eclipse--the strongest, most revealing kind. Yet as you know, eclipses of all types may influence historical events and this eclipse certainly did for its energies imprinted upon the entire year (being the first) and on the entire fight for freedom from the British monarchy. In fact, America as a nation is rather stuck with its themes running in the background of our lives which makes it highly susceptible to triggering by transit and progression particularly when an 11 South eclipse cycles around again as in 2027.

For comparison with past historical events, 11 South eclipses also occurred in the years 1901, 1919, 1937, 1955, 1973, 1991, and 2009 @29Can26, a critical 29th degree with its rounded-up Sabian Symbol: "A Daughter of the American Revolution"!

The 11 South series contains difficult themes and can herald trying events and turbulent proceedings, as you may agree. 11S themes are: 'sudden reforms are needed; old ideas or methods fail and new systems are required to deal with events brought by the eclipse; consequently, new ways of handling issues must be thought of; any blocks could be violently or tragically removed' (paraphrasing Brady's Predictive Astrology) #ad.

Well, I'd say that 11 South themes were definitely 'running in the background of societal events and influencing social conditions in Spring 1775 and may do no less for us when another 11 South eclipse repeats on August 2, 2027 @9Leo55 - conjunct the natal 12th house Pluto of Mr. Trump who, if he's still kickin' in 2027, will be 81 yo by then (a right ole codger!). The August 2027 eclipse perfects months after the February 20, 2026 Great Conjunction of Saturn and Neptune conjunct the Aries Point of global manifestation (00:45) so signifcant events may be expected, if not here, then there.

The Saturn-Neptune Cycle of Approximately 36 Years' Duration

As I type in 2021, we remain mired within the Saturn-Neptune cycle that began with their three conjunctions of 1989: 1. March 3rd @11Cap55; 2. June 24th @11Cap14; 3. November 13th @10Cap22. Therefore, 3 exact conjunctions divided into 36 years suggests 12-year periods which puts us now within the third period (10Cap22), the horoscope for which can yield important factors for those who care to set up the November 13, 1989 chart. Of course, the degrees' (10-11-12Capricorn) Sabian Symbols are informative as are the opposite degrees/symbols, aka, Illumination Points of unconscious material which, in this case, would be from the Collective Unconscious (10-11-12Cancer - conjunct the US Sun of 1776).

But for today's post, perhaps the Political and Business potentials of the Saturn-Neptune pair should be included here from Midpoints: Unleashing the Power of the Planets #ad by Michael Munkasey in the form of the Hegelian Dialectic (causing problems and difficult conditions so you can 'solve' them the way you intended to all along; a longterm plan, aka, the 'big picture', for a 'new global order' is suspected: 1776 -- -?-):

Yours truly would add: social safety net programs, workers' rights, Socialism, Communism, Marxism, Capitalism, and other societal, political, and Collective -isms which may or may not be operative by, or in, the year 2027. Yet who knows? Maybe some secret cabal of social meddlers will have invented a new 'system' and label by then with which to categorize populations and use the typical divide and conquer tactic to, the elite class hopes, control the masses.

US Moon-Pluto Cycle: zealous fanatics fighting evil!

A Cosmic Clock of Karma: Crisis-Ridden America's Moon-Pluto Cycle

In Summer 1776, our Declaration of Independence was the prominent event when America's Moon-Pluto Cycle began with their real-time Conjunction @27Cap35:44 on July 2, 1776 (3:55:44 pm LMT Philadelphia, Pennsylvania). This planetary pairing describes intense events of the day such as battling for control of the country against a dictatorial British monarch, the king's intolerable restrictions and laws, and the imposition of occupying troops leading to brutal acts. Intense responses of men and women who came to be called Patriots ensued, also under Moon-Pluto influences in the governmental, legal, and business sign of Saturn-ruled Capricorn which, along with other difficult influences, rendered depressive Moon-Pluto-Saturn vibes of loss and grief to the American Revolutionary era and often the need to 'regroup forces and plan anew' (Tyl).

Now last I heard, that cosmic clock still ticks so we might expect related conditions and events to exist in our era most noticeably when activated into expression by the various aspects within the Moon-Pluto Cycle, with conjunctions, squares, quincunxes, and oppositions to 27Cap35 suggesting periods of manifestation in the physical world. Plus, as you know, Secondary Progressions (particularly of the SP Moon) are a good timing method for gaining evolutionary information for whatever date we choose and today I choose the event-filled month of October 2020 based on America's Secondary Progressed ('SP') Conjunction of Moon-Pluto @29Cap20, a critical-crisis 29th degree. Sabian Symbol for '30Capricorn' = "A Secret Business Conference": "OPPORTUNITY" (Jones); EXECUTIVE POWER (Rudhyar). Its Illumination Point (opposite degree/unconscious) is: '30Cancer' = "A Daughter of the American Revolution": INHERITANCE (Jones); GLORIFICATION OF THE PAST (Rudhyar).

Potential expressions of the intense Moon-Pluto pairing are listed, below, and here you can view or re-view a DC Horoscope of America's SP Moon-Pluto Conjunction which perfected on October 15, 2020. Note that the SP chart I've used issues from America's July 4, 1776 horoscope set for 5:09 pm LMT with Aries Point conjunct IC, its foundation point. Of course, progressing other US charts would give slightly different timings but I'll leave that up to you, dear reader.

For real-world context, here's a handy Timeline of Trump Events for October 2020, many if not all of which show Moon-Pluto (Saturn) influences. And, speaking of our SP Moon-Pluto Conjunction, you'll remember that Trump backed out of the second debate with Joe Biden - scheduled for October 15th! I'll go ahead and say that Moon-Pluto-Saturn concerns were heavily involved with the virus-infected Trump's turn-tail behavior along with his typically short-sighted political considerations of the moment. And curiously enough, the very moment of the SP Conjunction on October 15th (see horocope linked, above), transits shows karmic Saturn @25Cap+ leading the Capricorn Trio and approaching the Moon-Pluto duo (29Cap20) which echoes the Moon-Pluto-Saturn trio of influences (off and on starting in 1776) and denotes emotional and mental suffering, and grave inhibitions. So perhaps even hotheaded Trump recognized a need to 'regroup forces and plan anew'. After his disastrous performance in the first debate, he was afraid of defeat so he chose retreat.

So here are some of the positive and negative cosmic influences of the Moon-Pluto pair (with Saturnian undertones chocked full of karma) that relate to our Revolutionary era and to current conditions and events.

Horoscope 1776: Washington Crossing the Delaware

As a mere "armchair genealogist" nothing I discover online through the research of others is for 100% certain yet some information I find does seem to be genuine. One such is my ancestor Francis Power of Maryland (born February 21, 1756) who is known to have signed up to serve in the Revolutionary War with the Marblehead Mariners under Colonel John Glover. And as you probably know, the Marblehead Mariners were the regiment that ferried the Continental Army, its artillery, horses, and General George Washington across the Delaware River that stormy night of rain, sleet, snow, and ice, a legendary event which is famously depicted in the painting, above.

On a genealogical note, my ancestor Francis Power would have been 20 years old on that difficult night and headed for age 21 on February 21, 1777. So where is young Francis Power in the Crossing Horoscope shown below? Three links pop out: his natal North Node @11Virgo conjuncts the Crossing's IC (12Vir20), the Basis or Foundation of the Matter, his natal Mars in early Cancer rises at sunset (Mars the warrior), and his natal Uranus in mid-Pisces conjuncts the Midheaven/'MC' (12Pis20). Naturally, both Cancer and Pisces are Water signs. And as you know, the Mars-Uranus duo suggests potentials for: 'a sudden application of force, unusual achievements through an extraordinary power of effort, passing a test of nerves, a struggle for survival, violent people, revolutionaries, fighters for freedom, and/or 'danger or peril which has fortunately passed' (Ebertin). Whew!

Well, I suspect that astrologically, Mars-Uranus describes Washington Crossing the Delaware - and the American Revolution - as well as anything else could do. But for 'Francis the Mariner' I'll add the 4th house Mars-Neptune combo as well for its 'people associated with water or navigation' description, plus, the fog of war. Plus, the fact that the two planets are in different signs (Neptune in Virgo, Mars in Libra--conjunct Hopi, asteroid of ambush and intolerance) is revealing and probably relates to the fact that some of the Marblehead Mariners were African-American, some Native American, and thus they were disapproved of or criticized (Virgo) by certain parties. My feeling is that they successfully did the job at hand so kudos all around!

Yet ferrying General Washington was not Mr. Power's only military service for he also fought at the Battle of Bunker Hill (aka, Breed's Hill because it actually was) according to my genealogy research, and apparently fought in the naval War of 1812. One clue concerning the reliability of his military service record is that he received land after the War in Georgia, my home state. And there is where his line descends through a few generations to yours truly, born in Athens, Georgia.

So! Below you see a messily marked up Horoscope of George Washington Crossing the Delaware. Word is, they began the crossing at "about sunset" so the horoscope is set symbolically for sunset 4:35:06 pm LMT with the previous night's Full Moon (@3Can55 8:06 pm LMT) rising. However, the light of the waning Full Moon may not have been much help for their activities considering the tremendous blizzard (veiling their efforts from the enemy!) that they had to slog through in order to avoid the river's chunks of ice, to land and unload heavy equipment, ambush their opponents, the Hessian soldiers encamped at Trenton, and, exhausted, to fight and win the Battle of Trenton, a victory that invigorated the Patriot cause, Hallelujah!:

Eclipse-wise, the Crossing falls into the 13 North Saros Series (see its theme, lower left) which is the Prenatal Solar Eclipse Series ('PE') of the American Revolution of which this crucial Crossing event is a part. Occurring August 14, 1776 @21Leo52, I consider 13 North to be the true PE of America because the final signing of the Declaration of Independence on August 2 fell within 13 North's influence (signing was within two weeks of the eclipse). Its theme tells the American tale!

And yet, dear reader, you're welcomed to disagree but there it is!

Astro-Note: almost 23 years after the night depicted above, George Washington succumbed to a painful throat infection which was probably made more deadly by a recurrence of an earlier disease - all together a Mars-Neptune affair. We should note, however, that as far as the Astrology of battles go, Jupiter the General @22Cancer is retrograde (Rx) which is not a favorable condition for the attacking forces. My thought is that perhaps General Washington's natal Jupiter being retrograde had some say in the matter because he was accustomed to Jupiter Rx energies of carefully taking his own moral code into consideration while, in this case, performing as a hero with a social conscience, a strong sense of justice, and a deep desire to avoid negative reprisals. So as it turned out, with the excellent teamwork and cooperation of Washington's troops and officers, it was the Hessian General Rall for whom the Crossing and the Battle of Trenton resulted in an unfavorable outcome.

Current Conditions through the Lens of Eclipses

2020: Cosmic Time links via Historical Eclipses Now Reflected

If you agree that solar and lunar eclipses yield fascinating information concerning the societal and historical realms, perhaps you caught a previous SO'W post Is This a Haunting Eclipse from 1777?. Manifesting within the 14 North Saros Series @13Can10--conjunct US natal Sun--a 14 North Solar Eclipse repeated as the 'Sequestration Eclipse' of November 25, 2011 ('a peculiar turn of events; illness; unexpected happenings in relationships and finances'). Now in 2020, we as a people are feeling 'sequestered' as we practice the doctor-recommended 'social distancing' and 'shelter in place' tactics intended to counter the spread of 'novel coronavirus' which, if infected, leads to Covid-19. Hunting Pluto's Historical Past to Inform the Present

With America's first-ever Pluto Return/s coming in 2022, and in consideration of the duration of karmic Pluto's cycle of approximately 248 years, it has become an interest of mine to find the historical date/s of Pluto based on its January 12, 2020 degree. For as you know, this is the date of the next Saturn-Pluto Conjunction @22Cap46:34 through which current and upcoming political, financial, and social events will resonate, perhaps harshly or in a restrictive, compressed manner. Certainly, we know that hard work will be required.

In comparison, the last (and current until January 12, 2020) Saturn-Pluto Conjunction @27Lib36 was in 1982 under Reagan's presidency with his voo doo financial finaglings and slights of hand under which We The People have suffered these many years while the wealthy class has grown fatter and bossier. However, please note that in this post I'm looking at Pluto's position at the moment of the 2020 Saturn-Pluto Conjunction and not its US natal position in 1776 (Rx @27Cap32/33 in natal 2nd hou$e) although some historical overlap or similarities may be be noticed involving the years 1773--1776. And so the 2020 Conjunction times a Pluto Return to the 1773/1774 positions listed below and we may wonder: will history rhyme if not repeat? Well, the 2020 Pluto Return symbolizes a cosmic time link of karmic proportions, so we'll see, won't we?

Now when we sleuth for Pluto @22Cap46:34, we discover that the manipulating wealth-hoarder was lurking about during the years 1773 and 1774 and suggesting potentials for foreign agents, spying and intrigue, hidden wealth, and manipulation from abroad. Sounds familiar! Historical events of 1773 and 1774 show several interesting incidents, discoveries, activities, speeches, an essay, and legislation, some relating to the American Revolution and the First Continental Congress (May 28, 1774), some to scientific breakthroughs, and several having to do with the Boston Tea Party of December 16, 1773--plus, Britain's fussy reaction to it via King George III--and the Boston Massacre.

Another notable if quirky event was Benjamin Franklin's essay in the form of a letter, An Edict by the King of Prussia, in which our First Patriot writes under the guise of the King of Prussia, publishes the hoax of a letter in the Public Advertiser in September 1773, and thereby pointedly criticizes through satire the overreach of the British government toward our American Colonies. Curiously, under Trump the word "hoax" gets quite a work-out. The Prenatal Solar Eclipse ('PE') of Franklin's hoax letter manifested on September 16, 1773 @24Virgo00 in the 10 North Saros Series (10 North themes are listed in the center of the chart, below); this was a Total Eclipse and also serves as the PE of #3 on the following list.

Transit Pluto hit 22Cap46:34 five times in 1773 and 1774:

January 12, 1774 - This is the stand-out chart with its same date (January 12) and the fact that its Angles and cusps are basically the same as America's yet-to-happen natal horoscope (July 4, 1776 5:09 pm LMT Philadelphia, PA). As you see, in 1774 the line-up was: Sun 22Cap21, Moon 22Cap47, Pluto 22Cap46, and Mars 24Cap41; note that this particular Pluto Pre-Return to its 2020 position (as I'm quirkily calling it!) occurred on the day of a New Moon @22Cap20 (3:45:07 am LMT--a new cycle of activity) which further emphasizes the 22 and 23 degrees of Saturn-ruled Capricorn, sign of government, law, investment, and business. Actually, Pluto's January 2020 return to its 1773/74 degrees constitutes a 'cosmic time link' with the Saturn-Pluto Conjunction of January 12, 2020. Plus, a study of the next Full Moon on January 27, 1774 @8Leo01 could yield further information on what we're facing in 2020.

Quick note: In his Encyclopedia of Astrology, Nicholas Devore gives '23 Capricorn' as a degree of governmental authority--and, 22Cap51 is the position of Trump's natal Vertex, a point of fated encounters and a potential for changing work conditions.

As for historical events of 1774, we find many stalemates and struggles between the status quo of the era's prevailing power structures and those who would grasp the freedom to wrest power and authority away for themselves. To me this sounds like an echo of Trump's and the global crime syndicate's coup of the US government and/or the attempt by the current power structure (The Establishment) to vanquish the gang of lawless usurpers and saboteurs. For now, let's say Pluto in Capricorn conjunct a governmental degree describes both sides' ongoing struggle for power and control in general. This is, it seems, a fated struggle of destiny. Different from the American Revolution--and yet somehow more similar than apathetic Americans wish to admit--they who have 'so much to lose'! Meanwhile, failing to fight for democracy is to lose.

Now the other two historical dates for Pluto @22Cap46:34 are August 28, 1774 and November 10, 1774 but as you see, the chart with the most clout for our modern-day money is #3 January 12, 1774 so here's the horoscope if you're curious:

Tragically, such topics and events have cycled 'round again as history in the New Millennium rhymes disturbingly with past events which may be viewed through and influenced by eclipses. Meanwhile, socio-pathic, anti-democracy saboteurs and global criminals lurk in the White House and on Capitol Hill, brazenly defying principles, traditions, and the established laws of our nation. It's now use it or lose it time, my fellow Americans.
