NYC Horoscopes: 9/11 with 9/11's Solar Return 2021

9/11/21: Jupiter Conjunct 9/11 Uranus and Saturn Conjunct 9/11 Neptune: Group Activities Concerning the Grim Face of Reality

September 7, 2021 by Jude Cowell

Today with AC repairmen working in my apartment I'm only posting a bi-wheel chart of the September 11, 2001 WTC attacks, plus, the 9/11 Solar Return 2021 Horoscope placed around the outside (Sun = "19Virgo": "A Swimming Race" = eliminating the US from global leadership - jc). As you can see, plenty of my study notes are penned upon the image for those who care to read them and I'll limit myself to spotlighting those since an abundance of emotional turmoil comes along with the 20th anniversary of the vengeful attacks - and I don't want to take even a slight chance that any insensitive remarks here might upset my New York relatives and friends - or upset any other family members who were directly affected by the 9/11 attacks, as were mine:

UPDATE September 7, 2021: More info concerning this topic is now published to my WordPress blog Jude's Threshold if you'd like to check it out. jc

Snit of Miffdom presents: the ACA, Cleopatra, and Dracula

The Following fuss is a re-publish from *Jude's Threshold a while back and it must have been written when I was in a definite snit of miffdom over something; a few edits have been done:

Is the Health Care Reform debate 1993 revisited?

Sometimes history repeats like reflux, thanks to Washington politicians using the same anti-societal tactics that worked for them before. Often it's more like a rhyme but with different or new components and my suspicion is that these days, the ruling class' contempt for the masses--individually or clumped together--has grown, not diminished.

Here and elsewhere I have complained that 2009’s Health Care Reform bill (ACA) is being opposed if only to undermine a Democratic White House, and I wasn’t even considering Republican actions and the factions of 1993. Was I wrong?

Never mind that Democrats have a mandate from We the People, many of whom need relief from a costly run-away health care system that intends only bankruptcy for you if you should find yourself in a bind. For in Darwinian America of the New Millennium, you have to be fit to survive, otherwise it’s buh-bye, see ya wouldn’t wanna be ya.

Maybe we need a dose of that oft-touted “compassionate conservatism” we once heard so much about. That and ten dollars might get you a fluffed-up pillow in a sparsely-appointed emergency room somewhere in America.

Meanwhile, Washington pols work tirelessly to protect corporate profits and keep their own stock portfolios fluffed up with med and pharmaceutical returns while insurance companies chortle on their way to open their next offshore account.

Meanwhile, Beltway Brigands give the old “fox guarding the henhouse” truism fresh meaning with every secret deal they make at our expense, every bribe they take, every fraud they make.

Now I ask you: if a loved one suffers and dies for lack of treatment based on an insurance company's concerns for their bottom line, would you really care which party inhabits the White House – or whose prospects are better for the next election?

This fussy snit was written by yours truly, Jude Cowell, typing at you from North Atlanta in the Kennesaw Mountain area. Okay, I take back all the mean things I've typed about the City of Atlanta, let bygones be so. I'll leave Atl alone and hope that it will leave me alone. jc

Another peek at Wedding Day Astrology: Bill and Hillary Clinton

Here is a re-post of my Wedding Day Astrology assessment of the union between Bill and Hillary Rodham Clinton, sans any serious edits:

Have you ever wondered what planetary influences were in the air on the day Bill and Hillary tied the knot and said, I Do? That would be October 11, 1975 in Fayetteville, Arkansas at their recently purchased home.

Since the Moon was in Capricorn for the 24 hours of Oct 11, 1975, we may confidently take a peek at the Sun (male)–-Moon (female) details from Sun Sign-Moon Sign personality blends, a book by Charles and Suzi Harvey.

As you know, the Sun–Moon duo relates to relationships especially between a husband and wife--in a word, marriage (Ebertin) so these details may be taken as a partial description of the Clintons' longstanding union.

Sun Lib–Moon Cap may be seen as “the ambitious wife (Cap) and the philandering, shallow (Libra) husband." But that’s because hindsight is near perfect in the matter and their marriage issues have been canon fodder for gossip rags and political pundits for years. Wonder how your relationship might fare when displayed in such a fishbowl? And if you happen to have political opponents?

Now some like to call the Clinton marriage ‘only a business arrangement’ but see what you think, and I’m quoting more of the Harveys than usual because they give Relationship info which we may find enlightening so I don’t want to leave out anything.

Let’s begin with some general traits of this in-square duo, for Venusian Libra square Saturnian Capricorn indicates regular blockages which entail separation (Venus/Saturn) yet may also bring dynamism and stability-–or at least continuation-–to the relationship (Venus/Saturn: love that endures.) Separation via travel is one possibility and they have certainly fulfilled that potential through their business and political careers.

Of course, mental Libra is Airy, Capricorn is extremely Earthy and practical so perhaps there’s something to the idea that she drove him to succeed more than he would have without her, for Librans can be quite lazy, you know, and most Capricorns possess a determined streak of ambition and often spend their lives striving for success.

Perhaps Hillary Poured Herself a Cup of Ambition!

So we see that the stable side of Venus/Saturn has been in play through the years and, as in every long term relationship, it has been up to Bill and Hillary to decide whether to keep their marriage going under whatever terms they choose to honor. External pressure against them has been strong but so far, so good, I guess.

As for 'Bill and Hill', their union tends to be: pragmatic; purposeful; orderly; tactful; diplomatic; powerful; controlling; skillful at managing people; persuasive; sophisticated; opportunistic; responsible; shrewd but likable; perfectionist and perhaps snob; the just politician. Or maybe that's 'likable' Bill and 'shrewd' Hill!

Weaknesses: manipulative; cooperative spirit vs blatant self-interest; over-rational approach to relationships and emotional matters; desire to keep all matters of life completely tidy; an over-sensitive ego which takes offense easily.

Sun Lib-Moon Cap Relationships: with the right person there can be extreme devotion; a close relationship is important for a sense of well-being; adoration and respect are important. Closeness vs aloneness; ability to adjust, adapt, and survive; love of control with a need to learn that being in a relationship is not the same as running a business.”

Oct 16, 2014: Stars Over Washington turns 9 years old today!

Today marks the 9th birthday of Stars Over Washington which was born at 3:30 am edt on October 16, 2005, Athens, Georgia. Yes, this blog is definitely gray around the muzzle now yet it still manages to aid somewhat in releasing my frustration concerning the mismanagement of what this populist believes is the greatest nation the world has ever known: the United States of America!

As you see by its birth date my frustration with the US government reached a boiling point under the usurping dual presidency of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, the 'Bush-Cheney regime' as I've often called it, and after a few years of fussing about Politics with hints of Astrology included (in Slate.com's forum The Fray) a blog simply had to be created. This is it.

Then in 2008 I added a 'tapestry blog' on WordPress which included Politics, Astrology, and Political Astrology titled Jude's Threshold, the name a reference to Saturn as guardian of the threshold, the planet's job in my natal 12th house of the Unconscious. He stays quite busy as you may imagine, helped a little by a mutual reception with natal Mercury in Capricorn.

So to celebrate this day and the rather slog it's been, I checked back to October 16, 2005 to see the Sun-Moon blend influences imprinting Stars Over Washington. They are listed below along with today's 9th birthday blend for the sake of comparison. Check them out if you wish!

October 16, 2005 3:30 am edt: Sun Libra-Moon Aries, a 'live wire' Air-Fire blend with a 23-degree Sun conjoining Fixed Stars Arcturus (the White House) and Spica ('the spike', the Washington Monument as they line up, earth to heaven, on the Masonic Federal Triangle of Washington, DC, my former city of residence.)

Sun Libra-Moon Aries is, of course, on the Self-Others axis which seemed appropriate at the time I created this blog and identifies as a 'peace-making crusader' and a 'cool-headed idealist who has spunk and courage'. it gives ability to initiate projects and needs to be actively engaged but with an 'eccentric twist'. Well, yes, over the years I have given quite a bit of space here for your consideration to 'conspiracy theories' via video and article links--not all have I endorsed but they make for interesting topics and support my inability to accept all information that any government says at face value. Who could these days?

The Sun Libra-Moon Aries blend is shared natally by a varied cast of characters such as: Dick Gregory, Luciano Pavarotti, Giuseppi Verdi, Shaun Cassidy, Cliff Richard, John Coltrane, Enrico Fermi--and also by a certain poet quoted here most aptly:

"A politician is an arse upon which everyone has sat except a man." e.e.cummings

The 'Images for Integration' for Sun Libra-Moon Aries: "A little girl and a little boy barter whilst playing on a see-saw. She wants his toy gun; he wants her cream cake. They decide to share." (Sun Sign-Moon Sign, Charles & Suzi Harvey.)

(Personally this relates to my natal horoscope with its see-saw pattern of planets which necessitates a constant weighing of polarities and alternate views. And I prefer cream cakes to any sort of gun. And curiously, as a child of the Flower Power Generation and an art school student, I didn't manage to attend a great many rallies and protests of the day but one rally I did attend featured a speaker listed above: Dick Gregory.)

Nine Years Later: October 16, 2014

At 3:30 am edt today, the Moon was in late Cancer which gives S'OW's 9th year (actually its 10th year, now entered) a Sun Libra-Moon Cancer Air-Water blend of energies, a misty mix that can break into tears quite easily. This reveals the fact that since 2005 the direction in which America has been forced to march brings me to tears and I'm certain a natal Pisces Moon aids in this. That the American people continue for the most part to allow themselves to remain divided by ace operators using the traditional 'divide and conquer' tactic makes me sad for my country and its people, most of whom I believe are decent as are populations of countries across the globe.

Does anyone believe we'd be facing World War Three if politicians and their wealthy enablers of a demonic persuasion weren't willing it to be so? For as we know, old men wage wars for young men (and women) to fight--for profit. Theirs not ours. Such dupes we can be! But remember, this blogger is of the 'what if they threw a war and no one showed up?' school of thought. Let the old men duke it out!

Okay, I'll hush on the WWIII topic for we all like to hide our noggins in the sand over that one even while we watch in horror current political machinations in the Middle East. So let's close this somber, moody birthday celebration with a few tidbits concerning today's Sun Libra-Moon Cancer combination as S'OW enters its 10th year...first the blend's 'Images for Integration': "A patriot rouses the masses to seek education, and then goes home to cook dinner for his friends."

This Image I like! Especially considering my natal MC's Sabian Symbol which I'll let you check for yourself: 16 Gemini, conjunct Rigel (to teach.)

Potentials of the Libra-Cancer combo include: concern for others with interests in art, history, mythology, music, and teaching; respect for the rights of others; artistic imagination; powers of communication; adaptability.

Well, you may not agree with such a lofty assessment of this blog or of me especially if you decry my use of Political Astrology through a common-good lens--your right, of course. But perhaps a brief list of the natives who share the Libra-Cancer blend will be of interest: Eleanor Roosevelt, Annie Besant, Paul Simon, John Kenneth Galbraith--and Graham Greene who informs us that,

"Sentimentality--that's what we call the sentiment we don't share."

For George W. Bush's natal Sun-Moon personality blend, plus some very interesting Sabian and Carelli Symnbols that describe him, visit the first-ever S'OW post here.

Thomas Jefferson on Newspapers and Despots

“The most effectual engines for [pacifying a nation] are the public papers…[A despotic] government always [keeps] a kind of standing army of newswriters who, without any regard to truth or to what should be like truth, [invent] and put into the papers whatever might serve the ministers. This suffices with the mass of the people who have no means of distinguishing the false from the true paragraphs of a newspaper.” Thomas Jefferson to G. K. van Hogendorp, Oct. 13, 1785.

“The only security of all is in a free press. The force of public opinion cannot be resisted when permitted freely to be expressed. The agitation it produces must be submitted to. It is necessary, to keep the waters pure.” Thomas Jefferson to Lafayette, 1823.

“Were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter. But I should mean that every man should receive those papers and be capable of reading them.” Thomas Jefferson to Edward Carrington, 1787.

Happy July 4th 2012 from Stars Over Washington!

July 4, 2012: America Is 236 Years Old!

by Jude Cowell, your friendly political astrologer

Just a note on the day before America's Independence Day 2012 to wish everyone Happy Independence Day, America's official birthday! Around here we'll bow to tradition with a turkey burger cook-out though any sort of meat is seldom a first-choice for my family so I guess that makes it a special and somewhat nostalgic treat of sorts. How about you? Will you be passing the mustard or perhaps the ketchup?

On an astro-note, a fresh post has been published to my WordPress blog *Jude's Threshold (where I've been MIA of late!) on behalf of July 4th and including a few tidbits concerning Campaign 2012 and the horoscope of Autumn Equinox 2012 (September 22; aka, Libra Ingress, if you prefer) which may be of interest to you with its Air-Fire Sun Libra-Moon Sagittarius blend of energies. Naturally, the horoscope precludes both RNC and DNC 2012 of late August into early September.

Once there you'll also see a rather mild sales pitch on behalf of my new Stars Over Washington Monthly newsletter chocked with Political Astrology which is being electronically delivered this very day in time for our July 4, 2012 celebrations. But you don't have to visit WordPress to find a subscription link--check the very top of this blog's sidebar, if you wish to sign up. It would be very supportive of you!

However, if curious about the contents of issue 1 (July-Aug-Sep 2012), click the Jude's Threshold link above to discover the topics and horoscopes included this quarter!

And be super-careful with those fireworks now!

*Blog's title refers to boundary-loving, time-keeping Saturn as 'gatekeeper of the threshold' which particularly applies to those of us with natal Saturn in the 12th house of The Unconscious (and Politics!) The placement is, as you know, good for concentrated work done in solitude such as Astrology with Saturn the original ruler of the ancient art. Uranus, The Upstart and The Witness, was added as Astrology's co-ruler much later!

Uranus in Aries! US infested by 'Coercive Utopians'

Such a definition have I found for you!

Check out Coercive Utopians and see if the listed traits remind you of any of the current denizens of Washington DC who star in the ongoing "R v D"/"con v lib" and 'default' dramas they keep us divided and conquered by.

You may also wish to scan through a just-published post--Time for Civil Disobedience in America?--where I fuss and grumble quite loudly over transiting Uranus in Aries, designated as "Utopians" in Reinhold Ebertin's The Combination of Stellar Influences.

Any type of contact between Mars (Aries) and Uranus may be radical, explosive, violent, or simply motivated by malcontent, of course.

So the current expressions shown in the US of radical behavior (described by the sign Uranus is in--here, Mars-ruled Aries) by a minority of activists which (since Tea Partisans entered Congress) has set up potentials for 1. government shut-down, and 2. financial default and credit rating downgrades for the US which the manufactured 'debt-deal/default crisis' conjured for public consumption, is the reason I stick with this blog's original description from when I set up Stars Over Washington in October 2005:

"Astrological comments on America, on Washington DC, and on the politicians who infest them."

That's politicians of all parties and factions--along with their enabling, collusive, and bossy corporate partners and banksters in crime. You know who--like the Koch Brothers who bankroll the Tea Party and the money-printing, privately owned 'Federal' Reserve Bank whose stockholders and board members lists--including any and all monarchists, Rockefellers, and Rothschilds--should have been fully revealed to the American people decades ago.

Highly Recommended Reading: mundane astrologer Theodore White's latest comprehensive Global Astrology view and analyses of current events (including all the news article links you might wish); plus, economist Robert Reich writes on how President Obama's hands are tied by the 'debt deal' as he turns his belated attention to jobs creation.

Guess Mr. Obama can do this after signing the 'debt-deal' bill today because the GOP is done working him over for now--or are they?

Even so, why not take a brief scroll down the sidebar to the Search Bar and type away for a list of all my posts on such topics as the Tea Party, US economy, Rs v Ds, and any other subject which may interest you. After all, SO'W passed its 5,000-labels-only limit ages ago and is nearing close to 3,000 published posts! jc

Weiner Leaves Congress, Ulysses Meets Twitter 6.16.11

Today mad-sexter Anthony Weiner has resigned (been forced out) of Congress so this common gooder assumes his populist rants have caused our one-world-government types a bit of trouble as Democrats unite to banish one of their own from the political limelight of Capitol Hill. Dems hope Weiner's disappearance will end the brou-ha-ha as reported on the Thom Hartmann program as I type.

Seems that Mrs. Weiner returned to the US on Tuesday (6.13.11) from abroad and consulted with her husband on his/their best course of action. (So again: why is Vitter still in office?)

Meanwhile on a happier note, it's Ulysses Meets Twitter today marking with tweets the 97th anniversary of Bloomsday (June 16, 1904), the 24-hour focus of James Joyce's groundbreaking stream-of-consciousness novel Ulysses with its 'a day in the life of Leopold Bloom' theme which set the literary world on its ear in the early 21st century.

You may wish to check out some notes and links I've just published over at my tapestry blog Jude's Threshold (a bloggish blend woven with strands of Art, Astrology, Politics, & News) within a post containing a few astrological details on June 16, 1904 (Bloomsday.)

My brief observations on James Joyce's natal chart and his birth data are included.

3.1.11: Pres. Obama in secret meetings, New Moon on Friday

ABC News' Jake Tapper reports that all day today President Obama will be in secret meetings behind closed doors including one with Biden and Gates. Hmmm...wonder what's hatching?

And I report my return last evening from a fun weekend with family in charming Raleigh, NC. Over the weekend, only one post made it online and you'll discover it @ Jude's Threshold, as you wish!

Naturally an out-of-town spree necessitates getting back in the groove for a couple of days so there's no time for a post on what I'm currently working on concerning the Full Moon of March 19, 2011 @ 28Vi48 (3rd house of Communications in Washington DC.)

My plan is to post on the Full Moon asap since its horoscope is quite a doozy and may relate to the threatened shut down of the US government in two weeks - unless compromise cannot be reached this week (now!) which will trigger a shut down on Friday March 4. As you know, March 4 synchronizes with a New Moon @ 14 Pisces on that afternoon (new beginnings), and a Full Moon (culmination; fulfillment) always follows two weeks later. (Some astro-details of the 1995/96 shut down are included.)

So the possibility of government shut down (if it happens) in March 2011 hangs upon the Virgo/Pisces polarity, the victim-savior axis of the zodiac - and the effects of a government shut down upon the people would fit that picture perfectly.

Horror in Tucson, plus the Spring EQ 2011 Horoscope

Though we're now in the Winter Solstice 2010 season with its rare Lunar Eclipse (both at crisis or critical degrees which presaged Saturday's Horror in Tucson), recent events in the political realm such as the time and money wasting 112th Congress opening on January 5, 2011, the mystery of thousands of dead birds and other animals, Phosgene and the possibly related murder of bio-weapons expert John Wheeler, and yesterday's *vicious attack on Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, Judge John Roll, and several others in Tucson maimed and murdered, I feel inspired to look past winter toward Spring Equinox 2011 for perhaps a ray of light after winter's dark times.

Fox News abruptly cuts away from Tucson vigil after mourner mentions Sarah Palin describes the 112th Congress at its inception and the ugliness at its vitriolic, win-at-any-cost core. Having the right to own a gun in America gives no one the right to shoot people, even and including politicians. Ballots not bullets is a handy political slogan but using bullets if ballots don't work is incitement to violence and tells the American political tale as of yesterday, if it didn't before - deleted tweets notwithstanding.

Well, Spring as a season always engenders Hope springing eternal and a brighter day, so here you see its horoscope (click to enlarge) with a few basic details scribbled upon it:

Chart: Spring Equinox March 20, 2011 7:20:50 pm edt Washington, DC; Sun and Saturn exalted, and a 'Grand Cross' pattern (highlighted in red) including Mc/Ic angles, and if you prefer, dissociate with the Nodal axis in Sag/Gemini, plus, the Cardinal ASC, and Sun/Uranus at Descendant.

ASC 1Lib03 brings US natal Midheaven to the fore (from our nation's Sibly natal chart Mc 00Lib43) and makes evaluating Venus spring's chart-ruler, and Venus rules 1st and 9th houses; lower left, you see listed the two applying aspects of Venus (how things will proceed): trine Moon 5A00, then conjunct Neptune 7A06.

1. A Moon/Venus trine indicates optimism, harmony, and honorable intentions and perhaps will bring improvement to America's status in the world (natal Mc), something we sorely need. Careers of the populace may benefit as well so this gives some support to what economic talking heads are saying now: improvement in levels of hiring in 2011 (though many positions may be temporary or consulting - better than nuthin', right?)

Plus, the Sun enters Aries with progressive Uranus in close conjunction, the Sun's only planetary aspect, which signifies powerful, decisive actions yet with unpredictability, eccentricity, and possibly occultism involved at this, an Hour of Jupiter 12Ari27. Sun rules 11th house of Hopes, Wishes, Groups, and Associations.

However, '12Ari' is a crisis/critical degree with financial implications (moneybags Jupiter has his natural sign Sagittarius intercepted in 3rd house, and also rules mystic Pisces on the 6th cusp; Pisces is a military sign, 6th house is the realm of military and police services along with Work in general, and Health.) Disturbingly, Jupiter's Sabian Symbol for '12Ari' = "A Flock of Wild Geese" which may relate to the mystery of global bird and fish deaths; round up to '13Ari' and we get "A Failed Bomb Explosion" which may be literal, figurative, or both but a least it's "failed."

2. Chart-ruler Venus' other applying aspect is a dreamy, illusory conjunction with Neptune, bringer of inspiration and spirituality, but also of fraud, deception, disillusion, dissolution, and loss. Plus, negative escapism is one of Neptune's favorite of ways of (not) dealing with difficult issues and one thinks of the so-called 'drug wars' going on in Mexico and spilling into the US.

A Venus/Neptune conjunction brings more Pisces energy into the chart and at its best, indicates the highest form of spiritual love, healing ability, idealism, and a hypnotic power of attraction. Perhaps a new entertainer, film, artwork, or piece of music will capture the public imagination in a very big way this Spring, with vivid imagination and romance prominent. Yet there are indications with this aspect of impractical dreaming, deception, or of being a burden to others as well.

This conjunction may also indicate 'loss' (Neptune) of, by, or through a 'female' (Venus), and fraud involving smaller amounts of money may also be shown by this conjunction. Actually with Neptune's tiresomely long term conjunction to US natal Moon in Aquarius (we-the-people) - though not as close for Spring 2011 - we have a midpoint picture with US n Moon at apex...

Venus/Neptune = n Moon: being easily influenced or led by others; a dreamy nature; chaotic emotional lives; comforting those who delight in deceit; negative escapism (remember moderation, yall! jc); self-delusion; romantic notions; impracticality.

The Nodal axis lies near the Mc (SN)/Ic (NN) axis of Career and Home; with NN near Ic one hopes that homelessness in America is on someone's next-up agenda.

Disturbingly, powerful and sneaky Pluto is 'in the house' - the 4th house, the Basis of the Matter, and place of endings; Pluto is @ '8Cap' = "Birds in the House Singing Happily" which is perhaps another link to mysteriously dead birds; Pluto/NN opposes Mc so we have: Pluto/NN = Mc: one's future depends upon the actions of others; powerful associations which can cause career setbacks; learning and receiving assistance from important groups; associations with others are the sine qua non of success.

Destructuring and transformation of the Real Estate market is one implication of Pluto in 4th house with renovations and repairs indicated; our national who-owns-what-mortgages issues continue (Saturn Rx rules 4th cusp), and sad to say, plutonian spies may be afoot even more than before with high-level surveillance becoming more prominent in the news since Pluto also represents big publishers and the use of persuasive propaganda.

Now this is a Full Moon chart (Sun 197 degrees Moon) so something may have crescendoed or been fulfilled just prior to March 20 - the Sygyzy Moon (last lunation) is @ 28Vir48, here in 12th house of Karma, Politics, Large Institutions, and the Collective Unconscious. US natal Saturn 14Lib48 is the first US planet to rise in the chart which brings our exalted Libran Saturn and its Scales of Justice to the fore this spring.

Moon 17Lib26 is thankfully past depressive Saturn in 1st house and parallels Fixed Star Spica (potential for brilliance, but also The Spike) which hopefully shows more improvement in consumer confidence and our emotional state.

Yes, Saturn Rx in 1st house shows delays and loss yet Moon in 1st house is fortuitous - mixed portents. However, one of the bigger factors of note is the cyclic opposition between societal planets Jupiter and Saturn which influence the world's financial cycles. This pair's current cycle began on May 28, 2000 @ '23Tau' = " A Jewelry Shop Filled with Magnificent Gems", a hint of the many thieveries society has suffered since the New Millennium began....and we continue to suffer under complicit, enabling politicians who can't kowtow enough to Wall Street and the rest of the global crime syndicate of monarchs, Rothschilds, Rockefellers, and their minions.

Messenger, orator, and trader Mercury 18Ari17 in 7th house of Partnerships, Legal Affairs, and Open Enemies, is ready for action in Aries and parallel (like a strong conjunction) Fixed Star Altair, the Eagle, a star associated with US ambitions for imperialistic domination and surveillance. Mercury/Jupiter contacts tend to expand thinking and plans while broadening horizons. These are not especially practical plans, however, and their contact promotes idealism, over promising, and even zealotry.

As you see, the midpoint of the plutocracy pair, Pluto/Chiron, sits directly upon 5th cusp of Gambling and Risk-Taking, and upon US natal South Node, too. This indicates the US falling back on old behaviors (SN) of disenfranchising those who can least afford to be harmed by Pluto/Chiron's Oil Can Harry attitude and actions. One thinks of April 15th as Tax Day when, thanks to recent legislation, the poorest among us are to be the only ones who will not benefit from the President's extension of tax cuts. Some compromise that tilts the financial hourglass even more toward the upper crust.

Testosterone-driven Mars, god of war, is in 6th house and rules 7th and 8th houses; Mr. Contentious is in militaristic Pisces as American wars continue; health issues of our returning soldiers remain critical with sacred warrior Chiron also in sympathetic Pisces. A Mars/Neptune (Neptune bwo Pisces) connection may describe infections, epidemics, poisons, gas, and/or travel over water.

Debt (8th house) and imprisonment concerns continue with Mars affecting 12th house, the polarity of its placement in 6th house.

All in all, the chart has many planets (actors) in the northern hemisphere showing many private issues of note to be addressed for Spring 2011. Only two planets are in the public sector (Mercury and Jupiter), and most of the initiative belongs not to America but to others with only two planets (Saturn and the Moon) in the eastern half of the chart from which we will operate this spring. America's Saturn Return is in full swing with issues of authority, responsibility, accountability, lack, delay, and loss on the US menu.

To close, here is a round-up of five prominent midpoint pictures in the chart which will flavor Spring 2011; look to the house positions of the apex planets to see where the midpoint energies play out along with associated house rulerships; the Saturn/Uranus picture with apex Pluto has been in effect prior and returns for a replay of its difficult energies:

Sun/Saturn = Pluto: elimination of pessimism or despair; disciplined people who want and attract power; overwhelming rigidity and inflexibility; an increased will to retaliate against others for slights; illness inhibits development; pressure to change one's entire value system.

Saturn/Uranus = Pluto: upheaval to protect assets; rebellion; tremendous fear of loss; violence and brutality; harm through force majeure (war); a desire to overcome difficult situations through extraordinary efforts; concealing changes to activities; rigid inflexibility replaces adaptation.

(Note: both Sun/Saturn and Saturn/Uranus are quindecile - 165 degrees - an aspect of obsession-compulsion: Sun QD Saturn = obsessed with 'measuring up'; driven to prove oneself through ambition and accomplishment; can be cold and calculating; may assume authoritative role with others; can set goals and achieve them if focused. Saturn QD Uranus = driven toward breaking old, outdated concepts through use of innovative ideas; may disrupt governing systems; can break rules through defiance of law and order; benefit comes through societal changes for the betterment of mankind.) (The Quindecile, Ricki Reeves.)

Mars/Jupiter = Sun: leadership; success; organizational talent; love of enterprise; resolutions to correct past errors; legal or religious defenses; strong determination toward objectives.

Mars/Jupiter = Uranus: ability to find the best political approaches during times of unrest; abrupt uses of of social forces; studying people's motivations; urge for freedom and independence; ambition; making sudden decisions; unexpected events within partnerships or business; active resistance to tutelage or guardianship.

Jupiter/Neptune = Mars: speculation; unreliability; being let down by others; plans without prospect; defiant reactions toward explanations about delays, confusion, or laxity in meeting obligations; strong idealism; a need for practical focus; the courage to defend one's explanations of reality. #

Well, I cannot possibly cover everything in one post so your courteous, on-topic comments and opinions are much appreciated. And tomorrow I shall add a few more details on Spring EQ 2011 on my Jude's Threshold blog because I'm too wumped out by this post to do it now. jc

(All Midpoints: Ebertin; Munkasey; Tyl; as always, any, all, or none may apply and are subject to stimulation by transits and progressions.)

*One more word about the violence in Tucson and violence-touting political rhetoric in the US: to me it seems similar to what I've thought for years about the violent swill put into society by Hollywood studios and others: it isn't the normal among us most affected, for you and I can choose to watch horror, slasher, and other such films (and listen to violent rhetoric) till the cows come home and not act out in the least. It's what watching films or playing violent games does to the unbalanced among us who, often youthful, may view or listen thousands of times over until anti-social messages are drilled into their heads by people who chose to pander to the lowest common denominator in order to seek their fortunes.

Now I know the computer game industry has been used for years as a recruitment tool for the US military (a habit I decry) yet that and other 'entertainments' may also serve as violent stimuli toward action by the mentally and emotionally impaired among us. The 22-year-old shooter in Tucson seems at this early point to be a prime example of this sad dynamic. And the depleted state of the US mental health 'system' - seriously cut under the presidency of Ronald Reagan and others - is also at fault.

My sincere prayers are lifted up for Rep. Gifford's full recovery and for the other victims and their grieving families.

Meanwhile, some media types are high-mindedly calling once again for a time of soul-searching in America with which I agree. But imho, there are certain individuals in public life who need to search whatever consciences they may have, if they can find them, and perhaps reconsider and reign in their kingly, out-of-bounds political ambitions. Yet John Boehner's statement on the violence in Tucson sounded to me as if the GOP have no plans to back off their Machiavellian tactics after this next week when all votes in Congress are cancelled. But I do hope I'm wrong about that for the sake of America and for the future of America's children.

President Obama has called for a national Moment of Silence in honor and remembrance of Saturday's Tucson victims to be observed on Monday January 10, 2011 at 11:00 am est.

Does 'The Matrix' have your computer?

In the wee hours of this morning I was on my WordPress blog attempting to do some code posting that wasn't working out when I got a message typed at me on the screen saying 'The Matrix' "has" me.

Read more here and don't hesitate to let me know if you have any good ideas. Is my pc's Adobe Flashplayer old, perhaps? Curiously, I had just spent about 3 hours or so creating a new Art Slideshow at Slide.com, too.

Funny that a mystery message should happen after the (rare) rude comment of personal attack that I received on this blog yesterday - by a cowardly 'Anonymous', of course - I published it and you may find it by scrolling to yesterday's post about Sarah Palin's disappointing folks who attended her book signing tour.

Well, I guess a rude comment would be from one of her fanatics, wouldn't it?

Astrologically, good old transiting Mars of quarrels and attacks - Mr. Contentious himself - is now opposing my natal Pluto in Leo. Nice. Because as stated in a recent post, it will be 33 long weeks of Mars in Leo!

Stars Over Washington has a new look!

Please pardon our progress but the Stars are morphing colors, fonts, and who-knows-what to update and give you something new to experience here at Stars Over Washington.

So far the changes have been easy to make for this non-techie (thanks, Blogger!) yet old buttons, ads, and links will need retaining as soon as I can figure out how to pollinate them from the classic template to the new one.

Sheesh! I almost like the old 'code creakiness' better - this drop'n'draginess will take some getting used to (although I use it without much effort at Jude's Threshold already.)

An Oddity: in Preview mode this post isn't displaying in full...hmmm-m-m-m...is there a problem afoot? Guess I'll Publish and see what happens.

Anyway let me know what you think of the new colors and design because things are still in the baby stage - and I hope today's Lunar Eclipse is good to ya!

Winter Solstice of Dec 21, 2012

New for you! Winter Solstice Dec 21, 2012 has now been published as a Page at my *Jude's Threshold blog if you should be interested in seeing the chart of this Mayan Calendar-ending period.

Notes have been added, although I reserve the right to update if so inspired, or if new info should come to light.

You'll find Fixed Stars, an apex Jupiter Rx in a YOD pattern, and more, so check out this well-publicized Winter Solstice if you get a mo.

And here's a previous post with a more mystical flavor concerning the Mayan Calendar and the significance of 2012 in my Secret Moon Art collection of drawings.

*My use of the word threshold refers to the Saturnian nature of my natal chart and life experience for Saturn is called the Guardian of the Threshold astrologically...kind of like a password to get into a blog...my natal chart contains four planets in Capricorn (ruled by Saturn), along with a 12th house Saturn which is quite happy researching and working behind-the-scenes, thanks! Oh! and Saturn is the ancient ruler of Astrology.

blog dilemma: am i timing out?

As my pc ends its days with no whippersnapper waiting in the wings to take its place, you may find a little something on the following list to review or visit for the first time, who knows?

This is a full online accounting of myself some of which are archived on the interweb, and perhaps some of which are not:

Jude's Threshold, something of a 'sister blog' to SO'W but with Art, Celeb Charts, and Bad Political Poetry snugged in occasionally. Actually Bad Political is redundant, isn't it?

Named in honor of Saturn, the Guardian of the Threshold, Jude's Threshold is a 'tapestry blog' of Astrology, Politics, Astro-Politics, Celeb Charts, Art, and lamentable Poetry.

I also like to pass on links to social and political articles in case you've missed them.

Lim's Limericks political cat limericks with links to fishy dinners of the Dreamyfish variety, plus, some charming kitty cat photos for the feline among us.

Dreamyfish Art, my online gallery of tropical fish portraits, botanically rendered yet depicted as ensnared within their most private dream scenarios where you're invited to peek!

my Lulu Storefront for affordable Art Downloads...plus, you may wish to order a Dreamyfish Art print available there of a lovely Breaksea cod from Western Australia--an Aussie!

Secret Moon Art a gallery of drawings from such genres as: Moon Art, Cosmic Art, Children's Art, Fairy Art, and Botanicals such as flowers, mushrooms, moss and trees. Take one of my new Paths'n'Portals as you mosey over to Secret Moon Art!

Cosmic Persona Designs is for 17+ers please.

There you'll find (after you approve of Blogger's Adult content admonishment--now don't cheat with yourself!) a collection of beauties in the figure study department, but remember these drawings are approached with a 'design' sensibility which was revved up way back in college days by classes in Fashion Illustration, Lay-out, and Design.

This influence is easy to spot, as you may agree.

Masks and their pointlessness also make frequent appearances along with a saucier style of cabaret-infused scenes, and backstage tableaux of dancers and other lovely ladies.

Boudoir Blossoms is one of my imprints, if that helps describe something of the Cosmic Persona Designs pantheon of artchetypal images of the Chiffonery Art persuasion.

My Gather Pages are such a hodge podge contentwise, I can't even tell you. And frustratingly in recent months I've not technically been able to publish much there--a few images, that's about all, but no articles.

In spite of the many who may be relieved to be spared more Gather articles from yours truly, I do miss being and publishing on Gather, and highly recommend this social networking site for those who like to display their own and/or read and view literature, articles, and photography in particular...very creative!

Well, there it is, my list of personae upon the interweb, as TV's Craig Ferguson taught me to call the www, along with links to a bunch of my work...so you won't have to miss me much when I'm gone!

~~or maybe just a little...?~~ ;p

the tyranny of vulgar plutocracy

"Of all forms of tyranny the least attractive and the most vulgar is the tyranny of mere wealth, the tyranny of plutocracy." -John Pierpont Morgan

And old Astrology buff J.P. should know, shouldn't he?

Although part of the Generation of Materialism (Neptune-Pluto conj 1892), aka the plundering Robber Baron class, JP's quote gives a truthful glimpse into a reality we've come to live with: that plutocracy cares nothing for anybody but its own.

Here's a Page at my WordPress blog, Jude's Threshold, with Morgan's natal chart plus the transits for March 24, 2008 when markets were tumbling dice. Actually, imho, markets are always tumbling dice!

IN and NC primaries today

Although I've been inexplicably reticent this week to publish anything much on today's record breaking turn out in the Indiana and North Carolina primaries, you'll find a bit of astrological info at Jude's Threshold, if you wish. It's a brief post so it won't take you long to check it out.

You know I don't call myself a reluctant astrologer for nuthin'!

Romney McCained--and 2008's Eclipses

Yes, Romney has been cained by John McCain in Florida and I've been writing and posting a Page at Jude's Threshold--inspired by the fact that 2008 is hopefully the last year of Bush's residency in the White House, and a hankering fell over me to see where in his natal chart the four Eclipses of 2008 fall.

You may wish to see for yourself here:

2008's Solar and Lunar Eclipses which also has info on George and Laura Bush's Pre-Natal Eclipse Series; plus, some details on how to read your own Illumination Points if you don't already know how.

For as Astrology's servant, I post for you, m'peops! I post for you...and for the sake of America's higher path.

And for World Peace. I really want World Peace.

Losing Religion in favor of Politics?

If so, you may want to reconsider mixing spirtual with political before the IRS gets onto ya and takes your church's tax exempt status away.

Read my post at Jude's Treshold on Election Year: Politics in the Pulpit for a list of some of the prohibitions on 'voter guides', political endorsements, etc, and there's a more info link provided, plus some 'wedge issue' views of my own which may ruffle feathers here or there, I don't know.

Moonrise at the Crossroads

With the morning's Lunar Eclipse rising in a few hours and because America is at a crossroads--our next steps will tell the tale for years to come--I've published one of my drawings Moonrise at the Crossroads on Jude's Threshold for your consideration if you're into cosmic moon art.

Plus Tuesday's Lunar Eclipse is in Pisces, sign of art, magic, and stuff.

Britain's Thames on the rise

If only Harry Potter could help the besogged people in the UK:

Britain's flooding worst in 60 years as the Thames continues to rise.

Here's today's post, Water, Eclipses, and a March for Impeachment from my Jude's Threshold blog.

You know that centuries ago seer and astrologer Nostradamus predicted a Britain underwater. 2007 isn't looking good for the Isle at the moment but I truly hope things will dry out asap for all my Brit friends.
