Robert Reich (Sun in Cancer) on McCaskill-Corker Spending Caps (video)

Here's a brief video message from a top US economist whom normal people can listen to without barfing up their dinners, Professor Robert Reich (UC Berkeley.) The message concerns the McCaskill-Corker 'spending caps' proposal which is a dressed up effort to fund more war over the needs of the American people while decimating our nation's social contract between the generations and thus collapsing our economy and 'starving the beast' of 'big government'.

(Is that tax cut zealot Grover Norquist lurking behind the curtain?)

Now I'm not certain quite when the video was posted to Professor Reich's website but his message is presented here today for your consideration. Democracy (if only we had one) works best when all of us participate in our various ways so do what you can and pass on the info, for as the excellent Thom Hartmann ends his broadcasts with: "Tag, You're It!"

Plus, here's a post I published in March 2009 with Robert Reich's birth data (no birth time known) and a brief amount of info concerning his Sun-Moon blend which could either be Moon in Aries or in the money sign of Taurus.

The entry includes his remarks on Politics and the Top Tier and the ongoing effects upon the US economy and the populace.

Yet with two years' worth of hindsight, my 'vote' in 2009 for his natal Moon to be in Venus-ruled Taurus rather than Mars-ruled Aries may have been ill-considered since he has continued to (seemingly) speak out on behalf of the less wealthy among us. I add 'seemingly' for I believe the power elites provide us with false populists in Congress and elsewhere to help keep us mollified and off the protesting streets.

In the realm of personality, Cancer-Taurus is a Water-Earth blend (mud; practical) while Cancer-Aries is Water-Fire (steam; volatile) so here I shall add the Images for Integration for Reich's possible Sun Cancer-Moon Aries blend - just in case - and so you may compare it with the previously noted Sun Can-Moon Taurus combo, if you wish to click my older assessment:

"A suffragette takes to the barricades in aid of her cause...A quiet homebody becomes a sports champion." (Sun Sign-Moon Sign, Charles & Suzi Harvey.)

Could be he!

~:~

As you know, Earth's Moon moves the quickest of any cosmic body used in Astrology charts and when a precise birth time is not known, we sometimes find a person born on a day/night when the Moon changed signs within the 24-hour period. This gives rise to two possible Sun-Moon blends since one's Sun is more much more likely to remain in the same sign on a given day. Unless it doesn't which gives more combo possibilities to consider. jc

Capitalism's ticket to slavery

Pining for things to return to 'normal' in the US financial and banking system? Want to get onboard the capitalist train for yet another ride?

Capitalism, one of Pluto-Chiron's many oppressive -isms, is designed for the rich to get richer...what did you think it was for?

Of bailout schemes and ugly things

Michel Chossudovsky says the 2010 budget which the president submitted to Congress on Feb 26, 2009 is a war budget and that's not all he says.

The Bush-Obama bailout schemes are serving the interests of mystery financiers - deliberately, says Chossudovsky.

And as David Letterman keeps asking, where'd the money go?

The market is 'poised to open higher after 5 straight days of selling," says NPR this morning.

Yeah well, it's another Wednesday at NY's gaming tables. But who's being gamed?

financial collapse: they're doing it on purpose

London Banker: "The market has failed, and officialdom is perpetuating that failure."

By Mike Whitney

It is now clear to me that policy makers in the West are determined to apply every available resource to underpinning failure, misallocation and executive excess. As
this discourages the honest saver from parting with cash, policy makers are ensuring
that deflation will wreak its havoc on the financial and real economies of the world.

~:~

And I keep thinking that somehow, Bernie Madoff is part of the script. "Are there other Bernie Madoffs out there?" asked an NPR reporter, money-in-mattress jokes are in the air, and soon it will be, "please sir, whatever system you want to impose is okay by me."

The "arrows in the quiver" of the Fed are sparse as they work 'so hard' to put a bottom to the catastrophe. The foxes guard the hen house they raided themselves and corporations do their part by laying off thousands of workers at a pop.

Makes me want to send Bush a pair of musty shoes as they pry his knarly fingers from the White House doorjamb - his mission accomplished, the agenda followed to a T...the undermining and bankrupting of America.

Here's the very first post here at Stars Over Washington from Oct 16, 2005, titled, 'George W. Bush July 6, 1946' with Adriano Carelli's description of Bush's Ascendant degree '8Leo' added: the burning bush, which may make more sense now that the Bush jig is almost up.

Strengthen the unions

Card Check

"You Have Nothing To Lose But Your Chains"

By Mike Whitney

Forget about the fake differences between the two political parties. There aren't any. The only hope for deep structural change is to strengthen the unions and give workers a place at the policy table. That's the only peaceful way to dismantle this parasitic financial regime and bring about a more equitable distribution of wealth.

By Medea Benjamin and Arun Gupta

A good Financial Astrology resource

Thanks to my association with Gather.com I have an astrology friend, Resti Santiago, who practices as a financial astrologer and authors a blog with a refreshing world view which may be of interest to you.

Based in the Philipines, Resti uses Financial Astrology to discuss economic topics such as gold, equity, oil, and the currency market.
Having just read his last several articles I may confidently recommend them to you.

On Oct 7 Resti wrote about the soaring demand for gold coins and how US and Canadian mints have run out. In fact, the US Mint has stopped their production and will not mint them through the rest of 2008. Resti provides useful links within each article for further reading.

Recent birthday boy (Sept 29), Austrian economist and anti-Keynesian, Ludwig Von Mises, is discussed as well along with Resti's valuable insights concerning America's Bailout scheme and its lack of 'bounce' with world markets.

(With transiting Jupiter still opposing US natal and Bush's natal Sun, as I've stated previously, no one is impressed with America's efforts for now.)

Von Mises is the one who informs us that, "Depression is the aftermath of credit expansion," which makes you wonder how Greenspan and Bernanke could have remained unaware of the fact. (Actually, lack of awareness of such common sense principles isn't their problem, imo.)

So if you've room for one more bee in your financial bonnet, please read Resti's analyses of WaMu's failure and Paulson's plan which is being affected by the current phase of Mercury Rx and by Murphy's Law - and find out, if you don't know already, what DGCX stands for.

Hint: the 'D' stands for one of the world's up-and-coming economic centers, Dubai.

And what does Congress do?

Two articles if you're up for them:

French Premier Francois Fillon: We're on "The Edge of The Abyss"

By Mike Whitney

People are scared and removing their money from the banks and money markets which is intensifying the freeze in the credit markets and driving stocks into the ground like a tent stake. Meanwhile, our leaders are "caught in theheadlights", still believing they can "finesse" their way through the biggest economic cataclysm since the Great Depression. It's madness.

Down the Road to Serfdom

By Ann Berg

So here we are: a phony monetary system, $3 trillion wasted on wars, and acitizenry mired in debt. And what does Congress do? It adds more debt - a trillion dollars, just for starters, since once starting down this slippery slope, it won't be able to stop.

Don't know about you but I'm staying cool, staying with my bank. Panic is what 'they' want us to do - so I won't. Staying away from the voting booth in November is what 'they' want us to do - so I will not.

Although my Jupiter-Saturn trine is outraged by their blatant thieveries, we Capricorns can be so cussedly stubborn, can't we?

Jupiter turns Direct for Fannie and Freddie bail-out

Stooping to conquer and letting go the money flow, the Great Benefic Jupiter turned Direct early this morning - in Washington DC, at 12:17 am edt.

As you've heard, the Fed and the Bush administration announced Sunday the much-talked-about seizure of mortgage titans Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and the freezing of their portfolios. There'll be no more lobbying allowed for this lobbying king and queen.

And as you know, the Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Neptune occurs all through 2009 which is as good a description as any of the financial risk-taking and meltdown which the next president will be dealing with beginning with his first year in office.

Read more about the Speculation pair, Jupiter-Neptune if wish, dates included.

Now for the Sabian Symbol for Jupiter's Direct Station degree, '13Capricorn' from Lynda Hill:

"A Fire Worshipper Meditates On The Ultimate Realities Of Existence."

Lynda says this Symbol is about being very focused, with a great passion for getting to the core or to the truth; and about new beginnings. It concerns turning inward and closely examining the situation - plus, danger and staring into the flames.

~ Sounds like accounting examinations, doesn't it? And what is said could have happened if this nationalizing bail-out had not occurred.

Plus, Fannie and Freddie's books apparently have irregularities. Umm-hmm...some of that fuzzy math, is it? ~

Lynda gives interesting Cautions for this degree - here are two of them:

overestimation of personal power and abilities and not seeing the forest for the trees.

Now for Adriano Carelli's Symbol for '13Cap'...but I warn you - it may not be altogether comforting:

"A Tartarian archer drawing an incendiary arrow"...

A thirst for absolute power; a tireless and sleepless activity; a tendency to burn one's bridges behind oneself.

An heroic courage, which is never an end in itself, as all energies are subordinate to the aim in sight. Such a character is ready to go to any lengths in order to secure his aim.

He will draw the line at no extremities, never withdraw before personal danger, even impassively watch bloodshed; refraining, however, from flinging himself into useless risks...he has a keen sense of honor, but is driven and burned by an even keener thirst for superhuman honors....the native seems born to destroy rather than to build.

If a diplomat, he will serve his own thirst for power rather than his own country; if a chief, he will love the people as the rider loves his horse.

The full measure of success will crown such an ambition provided the native knows where to stop."

Carelli notes that this is Pluto's degree in Napoleon's chart.

Well,'13Cap' is opposite US natal Sun so we may begin to feel and experience some monetary relief as Jupiter widens the orb of this restrictive transit.

Today world and US markets reacted positively to the Fannie-Freddie bail-out, so we'll see how things transpire as rich man/banker Jupiter continues forward upon his merry way through the rest of Capricorn, a sign which is an entire labyrinth unto itself!

The Fed's expanded reach

Bernanke Tries to Define What Institutions Fed Could Let Fail" is an elucidating article written by Craig Torres at Bloomberg News (article's last update August 19.)

What is one thing I learned from this article?

That on August 10, 2005, with Greenspan as chairman, 94% of the Fed's $24 billion in outstanding repurchase agreements with Wall Street were in US Treasury notes, according to Wrightson ICAP LLC in New Jersey.

On August 10, 2008, only 14% were in Treasuries with the rest in mortgage bonds and agency securities (80%!) That's possibly misnamed, securities.

As something resembling an explanation, the NY Fed says that agency and mortgage-backed securities "--became more attractive."

Yes, they must have looked financially lovely - in the dark or by the flickering candlelight of a one-world-government glow.

But in the light of day, they look disingenuous at best, or downright fraudulent coming from much-touted 'experts' who shoulda woulda coulda known better but played the graft upon society anyway.

August 10, 2005: Sun within one degree of value-loving Venus' position of 9/11/01 when vengeful Venus triggered the Mother of All Eclipses degree from Aug 11, 1999, mentioned in astrologer Nostradamus' predictions of so many moons ago.

The imperious Sun Leo/Moon Scorpio combo has tendencies toward arrogance and overextension, with a fanatical desire for personal success and survival. There's stubborn resentment when things don't go as planned, and a cynical attitude toward life along with a double standard when it comes to relationships.

However, with this blend there is also a deep loyalty to principle which may be positive or negative depending on whether Ben lets YOUR bank be one-of-the-failed or not.

With August 10, 2008's Sun Leo/Moon Sag influence, we see hero-worship coming into play, with outspokeness, impatience, and impracticality.

Still with the Lion's flavor, this blend retains the imperiousness and loyalty as in 2005, but with more of an independent streak.

Here's a quote from an author who shares this blend natally:

Two antagonistic influences...one to mount direct to heaven, the other to drive yawingly to some horizontal goal.

--Herman Melville

It totally grumps me up to say it, but the yawing drive to some horizontal goal began decades ago in America. Our real or imagined 'exceptionalism' has been spent through bad-intentioned political capital which was stolen in the first place and nowhere near the "mandate from the people" as was proudly advertised.

One of the more basic concepts which Astrology demonstrates is: that how something or someone begins is how it/he or she will end. This won't guarantee a positive or negative outcome, of course, because the expression of the energy being offered remains up to its owner to use bwo willpower (hopefully, mind control is resisted.)

Thing is, the American people have not owned this nation in many a year, if ever. Yet we once could put some bit of trust in her continuance and sovereignty.

But you see where decades of our apathy and inattention got us...driving into a yawing horizon with a Secondary Progressed Full Moon on its way, the culmination point of our American experience for years to come, and that, in late 2008 (based on the Sibly chart) or early 2009 (from the US' Scorpio rising chart.)

The Fed, led by Greenspin, as I insist on calling him, or Bernanke the Brave, has its credibility in tattered shreds over in Europe. The damage on that score has already been done.

Week of July 14 in Financial Astrology

Financial Astrology: Week of July 14 has been published with links to Ray Merriman's excellent articles if you're interested in tracking or learning more about financial cycles and the upcoming mash up.

Mr. Merriman relates the now forming Saturn/Uranus opposition to financial cycles which are highly unstable now, to the Fed, and to the possible presidencies of a D or an R president so check out the work of an excellent financial astrologer who has his finger in the pulse of our falling dollar.

There's still a pulse? you say...barely!

JP Morgan's natal chart being triggered

With entity JP Morgan Chase in the news now with its role in purchasing part of Bear Stearns, you'd have to be completely incurious not to wonder what planets might be currently triggering old JP's natal chart, so I took a peek:

Go to my WordPress Page: JP Morgan + March 24, 2008 transits where you'll see Morgan's natal chart with its YOD pattern between Moon, Saturn, and Pluto; plus, more details on the top financier of his day (April 17, 1837--March 31, 1913.)

And appropriately, even old King Midas has joined the throng!
