Two Potential Birth Times for Former Candidate Palin

The great state of Alaska's former governor, the know-nothing presidential candidate Sarah Palin, is featured in an Andy Borowitz clip which may provide a tickle for your funny bone. In the clip, Andy labels Ms. Palin the "gateway idiot that lead to Donald Trump." Chosen in 2008 as VP pick of John McCain, Palin gained national notoriety for standing next to John McCain onstage and for having only a threadbare knowledge base necessary for success and longevity upon the top rungs of US politics.

Admittedly, there may be more information than anyone could possibly need concerning Sarah Palin on her Wikipedia page but do check it out if you wish. Meanwhile, if Andy Borowitz's assessment of Ms. Palin's influence is correct, her off-the-wall 2008 candidacy opened the door and cleared the path to the current threat of neo-fascism now promised for America by a second term of reality TV "star", Herr Trump, a man determined to take revenge for his grievances upon the American people (his rising Mars in Leo opposes 1776 US Moon in late Aquarius: conflict, attack, aggression).

And yes, prior to Palin in 2008, B-actor Ronald Reagan (Sun AQ-Moon Taurus) rang the Republican doorbell for the ill-governing politicians who followed.

Here's a quote from an archived Robert Parry article: "In the early 1980s, Reagan also credentialed a young generation of neocon intellectuals, who pioneered a concept called “perception management,” the shaping of how Americans saw, understood and were frightened by threats from abroad." And for a percentage of the population, this tactic has been successful, hasn't it? Yet nowadays with fantasist Trump, the threat is coming from inside the house.

So no matter which of the two birth times we use for Sarah Palin's natal chart, she was born with an airy, quirky, eccentric Sun AQ-Moon AQ personality blend which is good for politics, but can also indicate one who overidentifies with causes (obessession is suggested). And curiously enough, this is also the double-Air personality blend of President William McKinley!

Now to close this fussy post, here's something for those who remember former beauty queen Sarah Palin's not-ready-for-prime-time foray into politics - the classic SNL Cold Open skit, Sarah Palin and Hillary Address the Nation, a brilliant parody of both candidates by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

Some are calling it Sarah Palin's mystery tour for the loose ends still dangling as the perennial candidate prepares for what apparently is a bus tour to get the presidential ball rolling...today, it's a speaking engagement for Rolling Thunder who are camped out in a Pentagon parking lot.

Yet particulars are sparse concerning Palin's tour schedule and what she'll be doing at the various stops she makes. So far, I'm calling this her 'bus tour to somewhere' and will wait for more details which are promised on her website though one must assume that fund raising may be part of the deal. Some think it's her nomination to lose yet with Palin's propensity toward gaffes and blank answers to serious questions, she may outdo Newt on foot-shooting well before the 2012 campaign ends in a Republican nomination for president.

Okay, so I've never visited Palin's website and don't follow her on Twitter either. But if she makes it through this mystery 'campaign' I'll have to re-familiarize myself with her unusual antics and her natal horoscope, too, because posts like this, written while she was still acting as governor of Alaska, will no longer suffice if she enters the 2012 race.

Astrodatabank shows a Palin natal chart with a possible birth hour of 9:43 pm but there's another birth time of 6:00 pm (probably rounded off; Virgo rising) which is said to come from a newspaper birth announcement at the time. (February 11, 1964 Sandpoint, Idaho.)

Presidential Links to the US Aquarian Moon

Yet no matter what time of day or night the demi-candidate entered Earth's time flux, her Sun, Mars, and Saturn are near the US natal Moon - no matter which birth hour for America you use for July 4, 1776. And that makes a Palin presidency a potential even though her closest planet to our Moon (we-the-people) is restrictive yet long-lasting Saturn. But there is one natal planetary aspect which deserves a closer look and it does not depend on knowing her precise birth time.


Religious Jupiter Inconjunct Spiritual Neptune

Sarah Palin's closely orbed, applying inconjunct between Jupiter in mid-Aries and Neptune 17Sco49 indicates relating issues and some distortion between intellect and emotions. Too many responsibilities tend to be taken on with tirades of bitter complaints being the result. Warmth, a positive attitude, and social conscience are evident yet the relating principle (Jupiter) is affected by Neptunian illusions and delusions. She dreams (Neptune) of power, control, and big money (Scorpio) and relates (Jupiter) as a pioneering, action-oriented, me-first leader (Aries) - or broadcaster (Jupiter.)

In his masterful book The Inconjunct, Alan Epstein describes those with Jupiter inconj Neptune as tending to misjudge their own importance, needing reassurance to the point where others begin to doubt their competence, and sending and receiving double messages - along with a tendency to misread other people's intentions. Opportunities are put in jeopardy due to vacillation or ambivalence, and daydreams and fantasies about success may be indulged in a little too often.

An Over-Concern with Image and Facade: Who Knew?

Confusion, escapism desires, problems fulfilling commitments, difficulties related to a lack of perspective, and subsequent bad judgment are indicated as well and all this (from one natal aspect!) reminds me of her stint (and scandals) as Alaska governor and her early bail-out from self-created problems while in office.

Jupiter/Neptune: Speculations and Grand Imaginings

The upside of having a Jupiter/Neptune quincunx is a talent for managing creative projects which is useful in advertising, promotion, and fund raising fields. That these areas are her strong suit has been noted by many pundits and by her many fans. That she is about to speak to the Rolling Thunder clan and (apparently) climb aboard a tour bus tallies well with someone with the talent and a personal motive for keeping the Sarah Palin Brand viable and in the public eye.

To sum up, I believe that Palin's lucrative 'king-maker' ability (Scorpio) and moneymaking public relations talent (Jupiter) are more important to her than following a grueling campaign trail and/or taking on the heavy responsibilities of presidential office where you can't just give up or change your mind like you change your suit...especially when you're rockin' a Jupiter/Neptune inconjunct in your natal chart.

Is Sarah Palin the Victim?

Sarah Palin on Wednesday leveled a charge of "blood libel" against those who've blamed the January 8, 2011 tragedy in Tucson on her violent rhetoric against her party's Democratic opponents.

Now I prefer not to blog much about Palin's natal chart but it may be time for SO'W to record a current look at transits to the former Alaska governor's natal placements. As you know, her favorite network, Fox, has seen fit to cancel the Sarah Palin's Alaska show where she preens over the killing of animals.

The natal horoscope I use is for February 11, 1964 4:40 pm pst Sandpoint Idaho; based on this chart (which is in common usage online), here are Mrs. Palin's natal positions:

You see her 7th house line-up in AQ: Sun, Mars, and Saturn; the pair of revolution and rebellion, Uranus and Pluto, are conjoined in the sign of the critic, Virgo; Moon (feelings) and Mercury (thinking) are conjoined in AQ, a conjunction making her sympathetic to those she cares for, yet emotions can alter clarity of thought, and there's a tendency to accept whatever happens as a chance for enlarging her total worth.

Her ambitious Sun/Saturn conjunction has activist, gun-toting Mars between them (Palin fanatics won't care for this): Sun/Saturn = Mars: abrupt and abrasive mannerisms within an already stern demeanor; a desire to be in charge; fights through rigidity and structure; enhanced ability to endure in competitions; energies feel confined; running hot and cold.

January 2011 Transits to Sarah Palin's Natal Horoscope

Mars approaches natal Mercury which greatly increases mental activity; there are urges to turn thoughts into action; much information flows in and out to the point of chaos due to the high volume of communications, and an aggressive atmosphere is noted; much energy is brought to meetings and discussions which can easily become combative; business activities are more vigorous and competitive, even fierce, and speedy travel may be on the menu.

Mars, god of war and instigator of violence, then approaches her natal Moon, a time when pulses quicken and anger or frustrations lead to temper tantrums for feelings lie close to the surface. Life's pace picks up during this transit and feelings are easily turned into physical actions; danger may become part of the environment. Quarrels (especially with males) are possible along with health issues such as insect bites, cuts, bruises, fever, insomnia, or tummy aches.

As testy Mars nears her Moon/Mercury pair, he then will insinuate himself between them, then move slightly beyond so there are three midpoint pictures which may yield details:

Moon/Mars = Mercury: premature criticism; easy irritability; nervousness.

Moon/Mercury = Mars: keen and sharp judgment; thinking directed upon an objective; primitive, instinctive thinking; a passionate woman.

Mercury/Mars = Moon: 'clearing the air' by means of argument or talking it out; thinking and acting are strongly influenced by feelings; a quarrelsome or nagging woman; quarreling because of a woman.

Now if you follow Astrology and Politics at all, you know that Neptune has been lumbering through Palin's Aquarian planets (Sun, Mars, Saturn) since she burst upon the national scene and consciousness. Her Moon/Mercury conjunction in AQ had already been sprinkled with Neptunian fairy dust when magical Neptune was in early Aquarius prior to the 2008 presidential campaign.

On January 8, 2011, the morning that Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was shot point blank and others were killed or injured, Neptune 28AQ58 was still within orb (5 degrees either side) of Palin's natal Sun. Now I had blurbed about this transit in 2008 on my WordPress blog and I held out little hope for Palin's prospects in the honesty and stability departments. To me it seemed that Neptune's association with Mass Media, fame, and deception were the more important issues based on what I observed of her early on.

So perhaps a recap is in order: Neptune to natal Sun is a time when confusion affects one's ego and self-image (as the media so generously applied lipstick to a pig?); ego-driven goals may have no solid purpose when inspired by unrealistic or misguided notions (like becoming VP, then president); ideals, leadership ability, and integrity are eroded or brought into question (as now); fanaticism is possible (you betcha!) as illusions encourage fanciful expectations; imagination and inspiration may be of the highest order (yet the 'highest order' in Politics is seldom of the spiritual kind.)

Jan 2011's Neptune is well within orb of its dissolving effects upon natal Mars, a period when one may run up against others who misunderstand one's methods or goals which may be considered questionable; physical enterprises and relationships with males are adversely affected (or positively affected depending on circumstances.) Failure to receive recognition is common under this transit and unrealistic enterprises may be engaged in.

Neptune to natal Saturn brings a new approach to how authority is handled yet tradition and structure may disintegrate within current circumstances as the ideals of authority figures are affected positively or negatively - which then affects the individual.

There is a double transit of sorts and both are applying: Uranus conjoining natal Venus and tr Venus squaring natal Uranus. The first transit is a time of instability in partnerships, friendships, and associations of all types, and joint/cooperative ventures encounter unanticipated problems; actions of others cause obstacles in one's pursuits. Unusual social conditions arise, unorthodox alliances are offered, and one is surprised at the unpleasant reactions to what one says, does, tweets - or to the blame-deflecting video one puts out.

Tr Venus SQ natal Uranus indicates awkwardness in social interactions, difficulty when coordinating group activities, and circumstances that feel quite uncomfortable (though they may end up being just dandy fine.)

Now I know that stressful Venus/Uranus contacts are known for their 'divorce' flavor but that's between Todd and Sarah (no comment!)

Another factor of interest is that Palin has recently experienced her Half-Nodal Return (tr NN to n SN, tr SN to n NN), a time when relationships are irreparably broken if they're not strong enough to take the strain, but if strong, they may become even stronger.

Also, transiting Saturn in mid-Libra opposes Palin's natal Jupiter in Aries so bad timing, past failures, and those in authority tend to frustrate one's ambitions; one may be expected to give back what has been generously given (ex: a TV show?) which may strain the budget; one should not defy odds at this time or invite situations which may threaten one's authority, success, or prosperity.

(Perhaps it's a good time for Palin to establish an ixnay on the eetstway for a while? Perhaps she has. I don't Follow her on Twitter so I don't know unless I read it somewhere. Her new video seems to be the primary tool of the day.)

Well, you can find other interesting transits, I know, so leave a comment here if you wish. Of course, there are planetary factors which are simultaneously and currently lending support to her ambitions and progress with more on the way, for the Universe seldom leaves anyone without resources to counter life's negative events and influences, if one will make the effort.

So that's my take on what's affecting the natal chart of Sarah Palin in the wake of the tragedy in Tucson and subsequent criticism of NRA-adoring Palin's colorful way of targeting those she deems to be her opponents. It's a vigorous way to go about things when at least half the population of one's nation falls under a non-neocon, non-lock-and-load label and one just can't seem to tolerate any opposition at all within the win-at-any-cost Machiavellian model of dirty Politics.

In retrospect, one thing seems clear to me about the entire incident: higher powers have engineered financial collapse for just this sort of embroilment in order to further undermine this nation and rent apart our social fabric. The violent actions of a mentally ill young man and the loose rhetoric of Palin and others are but some of the symptoms of a society completely disintegrating after decades of being sold down the river by its own government in league with foreign entities.

That a moderate lady such as Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and her family are forced to suffer so grievously as 'casualties' toward the ambitious ends of a power elite hungry for world domination only underscores the total lack of human feeling these morally deformed monsters have toward all humankind.

Sarah Palin's rectified natal chart and Sun AQ-Moon AQ

With today's extended thunderstorms across Georgia, my Internet service is chancy so I've not been studying this morning to complete info for a post as much as I'm moseying around the web and catching up with my preferred Political/Mundane Astrology sites and blogs.

Belatedly, I'm reading Michael O'Reilly's piece about a rectified natal chart for Sarah Palin which seems plausible to me. Palin was born February 11, 1964 in Sandpoint, Idaho and Michael has done lots of work rectifying her birth time to '4:55 pm PST' which gives Palin a showy 22Leo18 Ascendant. One reason I believe this ASC degree sounds plausible is that '22Leo' is known historically as the "Own Worst Enemy" degree, is often considered to be unfortunate, and relates to not being free to act in one's own behalf. (Horary Plain & Simple , Anthony Louis.)

Another association with '22Leo' is 'putting one's worst foot forward' and in my client files I have two people with this ASC degree and both were born with foot problems which led to corrective surgeries. Plus, both people sometimes tend to 'blurt out' their opinions before pausing to think first.

Now I don't know if Mrs. Palin has ever had physical foot issues other than putting hers in her mouth when speaking, but deeper preparation and a study of US history prior to political debates would have given her a better footing in the 2008 presidential campaign. And of course, Palin's colorful way of phrasing sentences during her well-attended speeches may be part of this '22Leo' ASC picture. Lack of preparation made her her own worst enemy if she really expected to win the Vice Presidency (and wait just behind an elderly man occupying the presidency.)

So I hope you'll check out Michael O'Reilly's excellent analysis if you haven't for it includes an image of Sarah Palin's proposed natal horoscope along with astro details on The Palin-Beck Phenomenon. Glenn Beck was born on Feb 10, 1964 so obviously both political operatives share the ultra-conservative Sun-Mars-Saturn conjunction in Aquarius. So: Feb 10 and 11, 1964? Palin and Beck missed being Time Twins by just one day!

If Sarah Palin's natal ASC is on or near 22Leo18, her natal Moon position is 4AQ21 in 6th house (6th house Moon = a reigning need to serve) which gives her an Air-Air Sun AQ-Moon AQ personality blend with detached friendliness, independence, loyalty, and a law-unto-oneself vibe. Highly observant and gregarious, this combo indicates one with an eccentric lifestyle who is well-meaning and open to the unusual. She's an original, one-of-a-kind person who hates being pigeon-holed (a tendency of the media.)

A maverick, perhaps? Yes, definitely, but she considers herself to be eminently reasonable yet her eccentricities that can rock the boat. She doesn't like being considered difficult or selfish (while espousing the opposite values) yet she demands total acceptance of her ideas! Turning everything in life into something that can be dealt with only on a rational basis gives an unfeeling demeanor (Aquarius is known for its emotional detachment - don't interfere with her sense of personal freedom. Perhaps the Alaska governorship did just that and she chaffed under the yoke!)

Palin's zaniness is seen here with Sun AQ-Moon AQ, and she makes a wonderful friend since she finds everyone interesting or valuable. She is committed to her ideals and has a sense of hope and belief in human potential yet tends to over-identify with causes; her AQ-AQ bluntness of speech supports the above potential that she has a 22Leo18 Ascendant.

Book Tour of a 'quitter'? Palin's OOBs planets rogue it up

Perhaps Sarah Palin's book could be more properly titled 'Going Quits' or something along those lines as fans waiting in the cold all day had to leave without their copies of Going Rogue being signed by Sarah Palin.

Between 'going rogue' and being a 'maverick' we might expect Palin to have out-of-bounds planets in her natal chart or in current Secondary Progressions, but no, she does not. (OOBs planets - genius or instability - are detailed more in my previous post of this morning on Oprah Winfrey.)

Astrology Time

So I checked her current Minor (mental plane) and Tertiary Progressions (intuitional and spiritual plane) to see if any planets are now OOBs by progression and I found two such: Moon (+25:29) and Venus (23:58) in Palin's Tertiary chart (Tert.)

Further study is needed but this is an indicator of a mavericky 'doing anything I want' syndrome (Venus) along with massive public appeal and fame (Moon) so perhaps it's no surprise that her disgruntled book purchasers with frozen noses and no autograph after all their troubles are understandably alienated by her disappointing prima donna behavior. (They spent money on her book - suckas!)

Interestingly, Sarah Palin's Secondary Full Moon (a life culmination point within a 30-year cycle) occurred on March 15, 2009 @ 7Lib27, a waning time of life shared currently in the Secondary charts of America and the Republican Party.

Sec Full Moons aren't bad times, but part of nature's cycle when one has expanded as far as one can and it's time to savor past achievements - the bad things would be overreaching, over-estimations, and grandiose schemes when your time to shine is passing. Things may still be accomplished, but getting a grip on one's overblown efforts makes more sense in the long run.

Also in her Tert chart, Palin has a midpoint picture appropriate to our considerations...

Pluto/ASC = Jupiter: enhanced love of politics and law and use of knowledge of people and their motives to push ahead in life; an increased aura of sincerity. (Michael Munkasey); Tyl says it's: drive to major success; receiving a bounty.

I've noticed how she always tends to mention other peoples' motives, haven't you?

And perhaps a midpoint pic formed by the current ongoing transit of nebulous Neptune to her natal Sun-Mars-Saturn in Aquarius should be re-typed here in light of our subject...

Well, it sounds as if Sarah Palin may have felt 'threatened' by shouting crowds (why? she loves attention!) and perhaps she wasn't as prepared as she and others thought she was for the perils and hardships of a book tour on the road.
