An Astro-Peek at John Quincy Adams

A biography John Quincy Adams: American Visionary by Fred Kaplan draws deeply from John Quincy's diaries which are the most extensive personal memoirs in US history from a man who was witness to and participant of a large portion of our nation's early goings-on.

Born in Quincy, Massachusetts on July 11, 1767, this son of John Adams was an ambitious, intelligent, shrewd fellow with his Sun in Cancer and Moon in Capricorn, a definite Moon-Saturn signature of austerity, frigidity, and stunted emotions. Not well liked by his contemporaries, Adams managed to find success in diplomacy--we have him to thank for Florida--and as Secretary of State, he ran for president against Andrew Jackson and 'won' thanks to the election decision being tossed to the House of Representatives where Adams made what his opponents called a "corrupt bargain" by promising House Speaker Henry Clay the Secretary of State post. However, Jackson, as you know, did vanquish Adams for the presidency in the 1828 election.

You may wish to check out his horoscope here though you'll find the natal data's "accuracy in question." The 11:00 am LMT birth time is shown but a rectified time of 11:37:25 is also given. Either way, Adams was apparently born with diplomatic Libra rising during a Sun Cancer-Moon Capricorn influence, a Water-Earth (mud!) blend of practicality.

Actually, this blend is the same as the Full Moon that occurred just prior to July 4, 1776, America's Syzygy Moon (July 1, 1776 @10Cap12--conjunct John Q. Adams' natal Pluto!), and the one that was allowed to pass by (as recommended by Ben Franklin, or so I've heard) so that the American people (Moon) would not start off with a Saturn-ruled Capricorn Moon, a depressive, materialistic, ambitious indicator.

If you wish, view the Syzygy Moon horoscope. Instead We the People have the humanitarian Aquarius Moon of July 4, 1776 otherwise we'd be much crankier and joyless than we are!

Feb 14 2014 a Full 'Snow' Moon in Leo

Feb 14, 2014 Full Moon in Romantic Leo, Sign of the 'Natural Leader'

by Jude Cowell

Since in Georgia we're facing possibly a major snowstorm this afternoon, I'm looking at the Washington DC horoscope of the Full Moon on Valentine's Day February 14, 2014, what is traditionally called the 'Snow Moon' for obvious reasons.

Perfecting in DC at 6:53 pm est, this particular Full Moon is personalized for America by its degree of 26Leo12 with Sun @26AQ12 falling upon US natal Moon @27AQ10 (We the People). A Full Moon (fulfillment or culmination phase that relates to relationships, alliances, and full awareness) highlights the Leo-Aquarius axis of Self Will and there are romantic v humanitarian vibes going on with this Fire-Air blend.

Occurring during an Hour of the Sun, we find the horoscope showing several planetary patterns and one is a T-Square between Sun and Moon and Mercury and Moon--all pointing toward an apex Saturn @23Sco06 in 3rd house of Communications, Neighborhoods, Siblings, and Primary Education. Midpoint pictures are formed and indicate potentials for addressing problems and issues, separations, weakened systems, and possible depression 'if the tide has turned' (Tyl.)

Apex Saturn, a karmic planet, in a Fixed T-Square describes those in executive positions who are extremely dedicated to their preferred causes which they focus upon with laser-like obsession, an indomitable will, stubbornness, and--as we might expect from the austerity lovers of Washington--with a deep need to control others. In fact, ambition is the main motivation in life and they are always on guard to make sure personal vulnerabilities are not exposed. So determined toward concrete goals are they that abusive tactics toward those who stand in their way are used whenever necessary. Character assassination and 'the power of the half-truth' comes to mind.

Sun and Moon are involved in a Hard Rectangle pattern as well along with the Jupiter-Pluto opposition and speedy Mercury Rx in 6th house of Work, Health, and Service. This pattern denotes a condition or situation in which the opposition's actors (here, Jupiter and Pluto) are under tremendous yet indirect pressure to reconcile their differences. Yet greater antagonism is also a potential due to the pattern's semi-squares and sesqui-squares. In other words, though cooperation and compromise are much needed in Washington, they continue to be dirty words for many of our politicians with axes to grind and major corporate supporters to obey.

The Uranus-Pluto Square Slings a Hammer of Thor at the American People

The midpoint of Uranus and Pluto, two generational planets squaring (blocking) one another (next exact square on April 21, 2014), form a Thor's Hammer (or, Fist of God) configuration that points toward (conjuncts) the Sun (leader) which conjoins US natal Moon (We the People) and thereby affects the Full Moon @26Leo12. This difficult condition lies across the Virgo-Pisces victim-savior axis of the 6th and 12th houses.

Midpoint pictures form from the Hammer pattern that include potentials for great tension, revolution or rebellion, indomitability, change through force, catastrophe, extreme dedication to goals (sounds like Saturn, above), and/or introducing unique ways to represent old methods into new explanations. Daring, ambition, and intuition may also be prominent by the light of Snow Moon 2014. (Tyl; Munkasey; Ebertin.)

So with a multiple-day power outage predicted, and snow now piling up on the ground outside my window north of Atlanta, I'll close with a *famous quote (below) and offer you a link to a Valentine's Day Full Moon article that has romance and relationships as its focus and not politics at all! See Full Moon on Valentine's Day: Your Emergency Preparedness Guide by Matthew Currie.

*Sharing the Sun AQ-Moon Leo blend natally is Frederick the Great who informs us that, "My people and I have come to an agreement...they are to say what they please, and I am to do what I please." Sounds to me like the current state of things in America!

Chris Hedges: Colonized by Corporations (NYSE = Jupiter-Neptune)

On the topic of who really runs America, on May 14, 2012 TruthDig published a not-to-be-missed article by Chris Hedges, Colonized by Corporations, which makes the point that it's the declasse among us--the educated now left by the power elite with no position and few prospects--that the corporate class fears most. I provide the article link in case you missed it.

Here's a brief excerpt from Mr. Hedges' article:

"--those who hold power, real power, are not the elected mandarins in Washington but the criminal class on Wall Street."

Jupiter-Neptune Describes New York Stock Exchange

The quote from Chris Hedges 'outs' a concept that is one of the main reasons I created Stars Over Washington in 2005 (to vent frustrations!) so putting on my Political Astrology hat, I'll say that the birth horoscope of the *New York Stock Exchange shows just what Capricornian cynics like me might expect: a frothy Jupiter-Neptune conjunction, with both planets retrograde in late Libra (22:57/27:42.)

This means that the Buttonwood Tree agreement in NY was formed under such influences as speculation, waste, grand schemes (including 'bubbles'), idealism, over-extension, over-promotion, and fraud. Sad to say that the Obama administration is imprinted by a Jupiter-Neptune conjunction as well with their three exact conjunctions occurring on May 27, July 10, and December 21 of inaugural year 2009. There are no Great Conjunctions in 2013 to imprint the next presidency with different energies so unfortunately the Jupiter-Neptune themes are to be continued--plus, Neptune now resides in its own murky sign of Pisces which indicates the heights or the depths, and contagion of all sorts.

(Next up will be Jupiter conjunct Saturn once on December 21, 2020 @ 00AQ29--prominent at Winter Solstice--which hits the January 20th US inaugural Sun.)

As you remember, in 2009 all three conjunctions directly hit US natal Moon 27AQ10 (the public) which provided We the People such delights as: instability, becoming involved in speculation, losing oneself in plans, dreaminess (oh Barack!), little sense of reality, and uncertainty. Some people have experienced great loss through floods and gas damages to water tables (fracking chemicals), all provinces of Neptune with Jupiter expanding the negative effects and the size of the fraud and loss. Naturally much disappointment has resulted since inflated Jupiter-Neptune bubbles must pop eventually.

Now they say that how a person, event, or entity begins shows how things will end...the end is in the beginning. If so, We the People (and other disenfranchised populations across the globe) have already suffered grievously and lossed unfairly from the predictable actions of the weak characters of current and past Wall Street titans and traders whose natal Jupiter, planet of banks, large amounts of money, growth, gurus, and ideals, has been undermined from the start by gaseous Neptune which, according to astrological principles, wouldn't know how to provide stability if it tried. Unless it's in the spiritual realm and I think we can safely rule that out when it comes to those who worship gold, love money, and lust for power.

*NYSE birth data: May 17, 1792 NYC; I tend to use the '7:52 am LMT' time which appears in various places online though I've seen some who favor 10:00 am LMT as does Celeste Teal in her book, Eclipses, in which she cites Maggie Hyde for her rectifcation work on the chart which gives ASC 9Leo38 with Uranus 15Leo09 rising in 1st H, and MC 27Ari59 conjunct Saturn 26:23 in 9th house which places Neptune Rx on the IC (Endings; The Drain) but on the 3rd H side with Jupiter Rx. Neptune conj IC is descriptive of what I groused about, above, with its unstable roots and shady beginnings. A Saturn-Neptune opposition indicates trust issues, lack of confidence, and exploitation; Jupiter opposite Saturn shows fluctuations in values and worth, and a need for 'yes-men' for any criticism is deemed unmerited, the titans think.

Yet looking at a '7:52 am LMT' birth hour, ASC 13Can51 conjoins US natal Sun with 1792's Chiron 15Can25 rising and MC 23Pis21--so that NYSE's Career and Public Standing are ruled and sub-ruled by Jupiter and Neptune! In both natal charts a midpoint picture emerges: Jup-Nep = Saturn: feeling abandoned by one's luck (as you will if you gamble in the rigged casino on Wall Street); false hopes; plans that come to nothing; losses; disappointments; self-delusion; pessimism; combining the real with the unreal in one's activities. (Tyl; Munkasey; Ebertin.) Plus, by transit, Saturn in late Libra has catapulted off-and-on this difficult midpoint picture into 2012 for present-day expression!

Jan 18, 2012: Internet Blackout v SOPA (w We the People's Moon)

Note: Stars Over Washington will not be published on Wednesday, January 18, 2012, in solidarity with the Internet Blackout movement. Twitter, Wikipedia, Google, and other sites will participate in the Blackout; see SOPA details below...

Washington Mall DC January 18, 2012: Occupy Congress! Plus, SOPA and Tracking We the People's Aquarian Moon

by Jude Cowell

How encouraged I am that thousands of Americans (and hopefully no police department 'plants' embedded with protesters with a mission to cause trouble and discredit peaceful Occupiers) are occupying the US Congress and elsewhere today thanks to travesties of SCOTUS justice like Citizens United!

If I had a chance, I'd join them in my former city of residence and add my voice to the throng of citizens no longer under the illusion that certain anti-government operatives, who now act as members of Congress, have no intention of upholding official oaths taken to dutifully carry out the functions of their various offices in allegiance to the sovereign nation they serve and on behalf of the constituency they allegedly answer to.

January 18, 2012: Blackout Day! Save the Internet, Beat Back Corporate Raptors!

Today you can hear all about SOPA and the fight against censorship of the Internet in its current disguise as SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) which the US Senate is to vote upon on January 24, 2012 by visiting progressive broadcaster Thom Hartmann.

Thom and his skillful, plucky staff broadcast today using two laptops and a camera due to a plumbing leak above their regular studio in Washington DC. Kudos all around! (And it couldn't have been sabotage, of course! In DC? Pshaw!)

Yes, this draconian corporate ploy to take-over the Internet will, among many other things, throttle free speech online and continue the transnational drive to commercialize, privatize, and destroy all institutions and functions of our society that are meant to protect the Common Good--here, by censoring what is or isn't published or accessible on the Internet.

Is corporate censorship and re-directs the types of experiences you want as you go about your business online, fellow Americans? Many of our favorite blogs may simply go pouf! forever with nary a trace. A challenging stand-off is clearly upon us in the current form of SOPA v We the People.

Now I have groused in the past about how America was founded upon a corporate structure model (monarchistic Old World/British financial system), perhaps unfairly for it's true that what was necessary in the 1770s may not be precisely what is needed now unless it is done with integrity.

Astrologically we might look at US natal South Node (of the Moon, We the People), a point denoting past behaviors, some of which no longer work in present circumstances and so must be ID'd as 'neurotic'. The negative side of Aquarius? Detachment, cold feelings, an overly rational approach, and other such things as we've seen recently demonstrated during the 2012 Republican debates--often, by booing audiences!

But SN also denotes inherited talents or weaknesses--every case is individual, so the humanitarian sign of Aquarius, with its edgy, super-rational sides of Science, Objectivism, and Futurism, contains America's natal Moon if we use July 4, 1776 as our nation's day of founding. An Aquarian SN shows a need for us to use past ideals and visions to develop ourselves and to act independently on our own behalves in the here and now. (Enter Occupy Wall Street and Move To Amend!)

As you know, America's birthday was promoted by our founding fathers as 'July 4, 1776' even though few signatures were affixed upon the Declaration of Independence on that date. One assumes participants had to consider protecting their own hides from British arrest, after all! And I guess that the other signers of the DoI on August 2, 1776 pretty much tidied things up. Typical to our nature in 2012, what we now honor as our "Freedom Documents" were not universally admired in Philadelphia or in the country at the time though it's easy to forget that now through the rosy glow cast upon our nation's founding through decades past...America was founded upon "an Ideal", "an Idea", or "a vision", as they say.

A 'shining city on a hill' with a global 'mission', that's us.

Here Come Saturn, Uranus, and Plato

Naturally, for astrologers the American Ideal can bring up the planetary duo of Saturn (form) and Uranus (Ideal) and Plato's Ideal Form upon which America was founded--Uranian genius needs a container (Saturn) or it will never manifest in the world and may spill to the ground. Happily, on July 4, 1776, Saturn and Uranus were in beneficial trine (120 degr) to one another from Gemini to Libra, mental Air signs, which describes an ease of pouring by the founders!

A Saturn/Uranus trine tends to project into the future with an excitement about accomplishments and prospects of all tomorrows; a lack of arrogance is shown, and sharing resources, knowledge, and lessons learned from experience are seen to be of benefit to future generations. Measured risks are preferred to iffy speculations, and ideals are based on solid foundations; optimism about the future and high values and ethical standards are upheld (paraphrasing Rob Pelletier.)

And so our Uranian mission in the New World to establish an 'experiment' of an ideal society where brotherhood, equality, liberty, independence, and all other noble ideals of The Enlightenment are held high--'of-by-for' The People--makes me interested in how a horoscope for America's founding would look if the Moon--We the People--were placed at the chart's highest point: the WHY?, or Goal/Aspiration Point of any chart, the Midheaven (MC) which is the most visible and public spot in any horoscope.

Before we do this, I'll use a handy feature in my SolarFire software that animates a horoscope as if it's a clock so that all planets rise, culminate, set, conjunct Angles--however they will on a certain date of a 24-hour period. This gives us a range of degrees for each planet though of course many of them change positions very little if at all.

Not so, the fast-sailing Moon...

The range of the Moon's degrees on July 4, 1776 Philadelphia, PA along with the first and last Sabian Symbols which relate directly to the American people's reigning needs of our Aquarian Moon are:

Earliest: 12:00 am LMT Moon 16AQ49 '17AQ" = "A Watchdog Standing Guard, Protecting His Master and His Possessions"..."Keynote: The development of the capacity to protect oneself and to safeguard one's individual rights under complex social pressures."

"The more creative the person, the greater his or her NEED FOR PROTECTION."

Latest 11:59 pm LMT Moon 1Pis16 "2Pis" = "A Squirrel Hiding From Hunters"..."Keynote: The individual's need both to ensure his future subsistence and to protect himself from aggressive social elements."

"The need for SELF-PROTECTION and caution is ever present."

(An Astrological Mandala, Rudhyar.)

Amazing how both symbols' explanations favor closely in the self-protection department!

Government Of-By-For We the People...really?

An interesting horoscope forms with Moon at MC (18AQ21) if we wish to consider a natal chart for Government of-by-for We The People. On July 4, 1776, Luna reached MC in Philadelphia (according to my Astrology software which may be off a bit due to earthquakes, Moon wobbles, two centuries passing, etc) but it's tallying in for Moon conj MC at 2:33:45 am LMT, with ASC 12Gem22 and a rising Uranus (8Gem53), America's totem planet of freedom, revolution, and such, so it's an ability to cope with anything picture when Uranus rises (as FDR has natally.)

This puts the explosive Mars/Uranus duo rising at 2:42 am LMT on that date, so that it conjoined the Ascendant and created a mdpt picture of its own: Mars/Uranus = ASC: upsetting events; arrest (as mentioned above); physical injury; excitable people; committing acts of violence. (Ebertin.)

The fact that Moon at MC occurs only after 2:00 am is a potential if the story of Thomas Jefferson lifting the first copy of the Declaration of Independence from Dunlap's printing press at such a late hour is true. Well, copies had to be made at some point for the public and for a public reading--they didn't just appear on paper as if by magic!

A difficult Fist of God pattern between our national Sun/Saturn square (within orb all that day) pointing toward the very Moon of which we speak--indicates that We the People have a sacred duty to perform which includes difficult, complex energies. Have we performed them before? Of course, but as with History repeating and similar societal issues continuing to come up again and again for resolution, our duty remains in 2012 if we wish to participate in this, our democratic, high-minded 'experiment' of republicanism, which we still like to call, America.

(Midpoint picture--any, all, or none may apply: 'Sun/Saturn = Moon: emotional depression from organic disturbances; fear; feeling inferior; inhibitions; separation from females; bereavement'; the Sun/Saturn combo relates to: suppression, karma (Saturn is a 'karmic' planet that can bring manifestation of what was sown), decisiveness and determination, and to the ability to maintain one's position in life. -Ebertin.)

That last can describe US leadership and its determination to stay on top once a powerful pinnacle has been attained.

Well, here's the symbol for a Government of-by-for We the People when The People's Moon is placed where it should be: at the Goal/Aspiration/WHY? Point of America's natal horoscope though the symbol's application in the New Millennium has gone beyond a more provincial or personal meaning when we think of corporate toxins with which our cells have been drenched in honor of bottom lines and profit-taking globalists and the company shareholders who adore them:

Moon/MC '19AQ' = "A Forest Fire Is Being Subdued By the Use of Water, Chemicals, and Sheer Muscular Energy"..."Keynote: The skill and courage necessary to bring under control the destructive potential of carelessness of karmic 'visitations'."

"There is a need for total mobilization of energy and a deep sense of INDOMITABILITY."

Isn't that what We the People with our Aquarian streak intuitively know--that together as One Voice, we are Indomitable and can change the totalitarian direction being forced upon our country by anarchists who infiltrate the Halls of US Power yet refuse to govern the nation, and if they do, they do it badly--against the Common Good by which We the People must sink or swim as a nation and a people.

Bastille Day 2009's riots in France + Dec 20, 2009

2009's Bastille Day has once again brought an annual round of chaos and violence to France with burning cars and street riots.

A horoscope of the storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789 set for 5:30 pm lmt, the time the gates were thrown open by Governor de Launay and the mobs rushed in to liberate the fortress-prison, that symbol of royal tyranny, shows magician Hermes Rx rising with 17Sag39 on the horizon.

Chart-ruler Jupiter applies to a difficult sesqui-square with Saturn 23Pis10 Rx in 3rd house; then Jupiter applies to conjunction with Venus (1A58; Venus 4Leo44 in 8th house.) Lady Venus is vengeful when treated badly or scorned; she is an archetype of the Statue of Liberty and of other images and statuaries of liberty everywhere.

Revolutionary Times and Climes

France had some big economic woes: she had over-stretched her coffers by sending aid to America for our War of Independence, her nobility had refused to pay their taxes to King Louis XVI, and the National Assembly had made obsolete the monarchy in this four-in-one revolution of the poor against the rich. France in the late 1700s had the largest population in Europe and was struggling to feed herself (commodity price manipulations were at work behind the scenes even then.)

Why a four-in-one revolution? Going by Nicholas Hagger writing in his comprehensive book,The Secret History of the West, the first part was the Orleanist Revolution of 1789. Each of the four, Hagger states, had different goals and different leaders.

The Orleanist Revolution involved Adam Weishaupt and his Illuminati Society of Bavaria, a branch if not an acorn of a larger sect (if Weishaupt's group can be said to be connected to older versions in other regions of the world - debatable, but possible - if not physically, then perhaps inspirationally.)

That there was a conspiracy behind the French Revolution is mentioned in many sources so I will not cover them all here. But a shadowy man by the name of Choderlos de Laclos supposedly ran the conspiracy, and Weishaupt's front man was the Duc d'Orleans so you see where this phase of the chaos got its moniker.

Since the harvest of 1788 was a bust, things had gone from bad to worse for the people of France. The revolution started with the exploitation of a grain scarcity during the summer along with rumors of threats to the food supply (kind of like what we hear out of Washington these days - now it's honey worries in the US! And this after frightening us about honeybee hive collapse. There's that word again, collapse.)

Hagger continues, "The 'Orleanist Conspiracy' was an uprising of the bourgeoisie against the nobles, using popular mobs to do the bourgeoisie's dirty work."

Well, I won't go into more details now about how things went on in France in those dark days when terror stalked the earth, for we know it stalks still. Plus, you've already heard of the Jacobin Club in the events of those oppressive times, but did you know the Jacobins were organized by the Illuminist Templars and the Duc de Orleans, who came to be known as "Philippe-Egalite"? Magician and alchemist Hermes was undoubtedly on the scene - oh yeah - he's rising in the 'storming the Bastille' chart as mentioned above.

1789 - 2009: Has Mankind Learned Better?

My belief is that the Nostradamus-predicted Mother of All Eclipses, aka the King of Terror or King of Alarm Eclipse of August 11, 1999 with its Fixed Grand Cross of planets heralded a wave of ills across the planet that only the most directed group of selfless energies blended into one strand of harmony can hope to assuage them.

We need our Guardian Angels prayed close to us each one, m'peops, if that's a comfort to you. And if not, why on earth not? Forces are at work against the gentle, yet it is gentleness that persuades. Peace not war!

And when astrologically we think of revolution, we don't only think of rebellious awakener Uranus, we think of warrior Mars, Jupiter the General, Pluto the saboteur and death-dealer, perhaps Venus the avaricious, and of cloudy Neptune of the masses and of delusions, confusions, and fraud.

Timekeeper and boundary-guard Saturn usually will put a stop to out-of-control things, but not always in the ways we would want. The Old Man can be a little curt and sparse at times which you know if you've met him.

December 20, 2009

So as the Marseillaise planets, Mars, Jupiter, and Neptune, perform a stalemate tableaux on December 20, 2009 with Mars stationary at '20Leo' opposing the Jupiter/Neptune conjunction in Aquarius (#3 of 3), we may expect some pent-up actions to break out in various global hot spots, or at the least - financial upheavals in banking, trade, and global stock markets (Jupiter and Neptune are conjunct in the NYSE's natal chart but in Libra, an Air sign as is AQ.)

Government and the judiciary (Jupiter) will continue to be in the news if not in our hearts.

Other major planetary configurations add to a volatile mix for society in general by the end of 2009 and into 2010, and ecological balances are much in peril with a variety of these issues coming to a must-be-dealt-with climax. Neptune is linked with the oceans, as you know, and corals are dying fast, while drinkable water is disappearing - or is being cornered as a 'market.'

Yes, on Dec 20, 2009 there is a midpoint picture formed and you already know that the Jupiter/Neptune conjunctions of 2009 are all occurring upon the US natal Moon (the people; the public) which results in a 'becoming involved in speculation; going with the wind; instability; losing oneself in plans' vibe.

Well, in December, stationary Mars in Leo comes along to plump up the pillows and add a jolt of testosterone to the mystic brew...

Jup/Nep = Mars: strong idealism; the need for practical focus; unreliability; prone to irresponsible actions; relying on others and consequently being let down; a desire to realize plans without prospect; the act of speculating.

Plus, Mars is stationing in the sign of royalty and nobility - Leo, the natural leader who tends to roar.

So this means that transiting Mars in Leo opposes US natal Moon in AQ - or will, depending on which US birth chart you use. So even without the inflationary, fraudulent, and/or mystical Jupiter/Neptune cycle beginning all over again, the addition of Mars indicates a testy time period when raising antagonism in others is ill-advised. Anger, passion, and violence can appear in various forms during this transit, and of course 'home' and 'security needs' are involved since the effects are upon the US Moon.

Equipment breakdowns may be on the menu, and driving is somehow affected for many people (get that car maintenance done asap just in case!); traffic jams may be on our radars for a while (a stationary planet is a strong planet pausing to make a cosmic point - so its influence lingers a while.)

Pay close attention to whatever you do, including chores in the kitchen where hot things and sharp knives (Mars) are kept. Oh! and stock some tummy meds about the place for you may be needing a dose with all the emotional drama going on.

And above all: be aware that this irritability too shall pass!

~:~

Mars, Jupiter, and Neptune are the 'Marsellaise planets' because the three were conjunct in late degrees of Libra on the day the French people captured the Tuileries palace and dethroned King Louis XVI.

Various combinations of their energies are kept a close if squinty eye upon by this particular reluctant astrologer especially since the US natal chart has Geminian Mars square Virgoan Neptune, and Mars is 14 degrees from Jupiter in Cancer.

A Mars/Neptune square makes for confused motivations with an occasional lapse into inspirational activities.

Midpoint pictures: Tyl; Ebertin.

UPDATE 7.15.09: here's someone writing on Weishaupt and the Iluminati's role in the French Revolution, on Freemasonry in early America, and on how 'papacy vs Protestants' affected events - and why it still matters in the 21st century.
