Sept 27, 2018: Dr. Christine Ford vs Brett Kavanaugh?

A few days ago I published the September 24, 2018 horoscope as a tentative chart for Dr. Christine Ford's testimony on Capitol Hill to the Judiciary Committee against SCOTUS nominee Brett Kavanaugh whose natal planets are penned around the September 24th chart. There we can see that transit Jupiter in Scorpio currently conjoins the Judge's natal Neptune in Scorpio (pretense; illusion; scandal; fanaticism; paranoia; grand ideas) while opposing his natal Jupiter in Taurus (discontent with wealth and achievement; overblown efforts; discouraging comparisons; no one is impressed--J. Skalka).

So I'm feeling a bit fussy about doing another chart but for you I'll post here the September 24, 2018 horoscope set for Capitol Hill and 10:00 am edt when Professor Christine Blasey Ford is allegedly scheduled to testify. If at 10:00 am edt, Venus in Scorpio rises precisely, as you see. Sabian Symbols would be appropriate about now if you know of any. There's a rather rare Rosetta pattern between Saturn in 2nd, Moon and Uranus in 6th, Sun in 11th, and North Node ('NN') in 9th house. Does Saturn in earthy Capricorn trining the Moon-Uranus conjunction in early Taurus represent senators or possibly lawyers who support the woman/women's issues? Then Republicans are not indicated I guess. The Sun-NN sextile on one side of the Rosetta (marked in blue dotted lines) denotes the Kavanaugh side of the equation with NN in Leo, sign of leadership, lawyers, and suggesting legal societies or other types of organizations Kavanaugh has joined. In his hometown of Washington DC, he's part of the elite with the Federalist Society behind him.

Ascendant and Venus '10Scorpio': "A Fellowship Supper"...positive expression: an effective channeling of personal aspirations into the common place grooves of a shared experience; negative expression: a surrender of individual distinction and exaltation of naive animality." (The Sabian Symbols in Astrology, Dr. Marc Edmund Jones).

The Illumination Point of 10Scorpio is '10Taurus': "A Red Cross Nurse"...positive expression: a complete dedication of the self to the worthwhile and enduring projects through which it can lose all sense of separativeness; negative expression: a superficial pretense of humanitarianism in order to gain transient importance."

Importance he wants! Mr. Kavanaugh's first natal planet to rise in the above chart is his Neptune @19Scorpio with transit Jupiter just passed beyond it yet retained is his natal Jupiter-Neptune opposition of "lost objectivity" (Oken) which I believe he is being accused of in these stormy confirmation proceedings. And as you know, Jupiter-Neptune can be inspiring energy but this is Politics so together I'll have to say that they make a frothy and scheming pair, often to the point of fraud. We can also identify a midpoint picture between rising Venus @9Sco36 and Jupiter @21Sco26 with his natal Neptune at apex and we get potentials for negligence; lack of correct behavior; falsehood; hopelessness; a destructive relationship (Ebertin). Any, all, or none may apply.

Plus, Nicholas Devore says that '19Scorpio' (which has a centuries' long reputation for being an evil degree) is "the crucial point in the war between the Ego and the Supreme Will" though I doubt Devore refers to the US Supreme Court which happens to be 229 years old this very day (September 24, 1789). Did you get it anything?

Encyclopedia of Astrology, 1947, N. Devore.

Here's an excerpt concerning Rosetta patterns that I posted a while back:

Well, all the planets involved have both 'enemies' and 'allies' with the configuration containing energies that 'go around in circles' (similar to the closed circuit of energies contained in a Grand Trine). But in a Rosetta, each planet (actor) tries to 'win the argument' with an opponent ('enemy') shown by opposition and its squares while the sextile and trine aspects denote cooperation from helpful 'allies'. Complexity is added to circumstances by inconjunct (aka, quincunx; 150 degrees) creating a paradox (a square peg in round hole required) and the adjustment is needed in order to reduce tension and stress. Typically, the tactic of scapegoating may be employed to divert blame or responsibility temporarily and the psychological method of triangulation may be used in an attempt to manipulate those who are uncooperative.

The August 11, 2016 Aquarian Full Moon Spotlights Campaign 2016

Astro-Musings by Moonlight on the Presidential Bid of Donald J. Trump

by Jude Cowell

The August 11, 2016 Full Moon @25AQ51 conjoins America's natal Moon though this may depend on which natal horoscope for our nation is used. All of July 4, 1776 gives We the People an Aquarian Moon yet a one-degree orb of influence widens depending in the 'birth' time of the natal chart and there are several to choose from due to conflicting historical sources.

(I tend toward the 5:09 pm LMT chart which gives a 27-to-28-degree Moon).

For the purposes of today's post, and considering what is going on in our nation (the 2016 campaign for the presidency and congressional seats that are up for grabs), let's say that the Full Moon of August 11, 2016 falls upon US natal Moon denoting a fulfillment or culmination of some kind and may act in similar fashion to an eclipse as lunations sometimes do. That is, in a 'wild card' Uranian manner of unexpected outcomes or events--something new or novel entering the picture.

When the August 11th chart is set for Washington DC, the Full Moon falls across the 1/7 house polarity of Self-Other, Partnerships, and Open Enemies, further personalizing this lunation for We the People and our relationship with leadership. Trining the Sun and sextiling the Moon from the 9th house is Uranus Rx @24Ari21 which makes the radical political planet the Thales Planet or Point with a Sabian Symbol of "A Double Promise Reveals Its Inner and Outer Meaning." Perhaps an intriguing revelation will (again) turn up and affect the campaigns of Mr. Trump and/or Secretary Clinton. Has opposition research something more to reveal?

Mundane Moon represents publicity, the public, emotional moods and trends, but also women--is the August 11th Full Moon shining more brightly on Hillary than on Donald?

Okay, but here's the thing: the chart also shows a crisis-turning point configuration--a YOD pattern--with the Moon-Uranus sextile at its base (leaders who rule at a whim with little sense of how their enterprise is seen by the rest of the world; an emotionally immature person place in an important and visible leadership role--Munkasey). Sound like anyone we know? There's more!

Moon-Uranus points toward apex Jupiter in 2nd house ($) @25Virgo25 so that Mr. Moneybags, the mogul and promoter, is revealed as one who is given opportunities to broadcast himself and his social concepts in order to stimulate mass consciousness. This apex Jupiter has dropped his former long held beliefs (of the liberal Democratic variety?) and adopted a different world view and this has provided the opportunities to expound, broadcast, and promote himself and the new beliefs that now inspire him. Rarely doubting the rightness of his ideas, apex Jupiter in Virgo ( sign of The Critic) has a strong impact on society; however, mismanagement, over promising, and extreme self-aggrandizement result in fateful consequences that are not the positive improvements he promises.

Note that planning Mercury @23Vir09 (planet of orators, dealers, reporters, and voters) and money planet Venus are also in the 2nd house of Earnings and Values (and the National Treasury in a mundane chart--can you imagine Mr. Trump getting his gambler's mitts on that?) indicates sudden news received. Will Mr. Trump drop out of the running? What are the odds, ask the New York Times this very morning!

Previously I have written that Hillary Clinton's natal Mercury-Saturn square is more preferable for a leader (more realistic) than Mr. Trump's fact-distorting, falsifying, confused Mercury-Neptune square (murky!) and I stand by that assertion. And since the DNC wrapped up at the end of July (and in spite of high unfavorables on both sides), it looks as if the voting public agrees.

Plus, it may be telling that the August 11th Full Moon is within the influence of the current March 9, 2016 Solar Eclipse of endings, partings, and separations for August 11th is not within two weeks of the September 1st Solar Eclipse with its realism and seeing old situations for what they truly are themes (Brady).

Will one day soon the presidential candidacy of Donald Trump be only a bad dream the American people awakened from before it was too late? I'm setting my alarm clock in hopes!

View Prominent Jupiter on March 8, 2016!

Earth's closest approach to Jupiter in 2016 occurs on March 8 @18Virgo, precisely opposing the degree of the March 9, 2016 Solar Eclipse @18Pis56. Yes, that's Jupiter you're seeing in the morning sky but for further information on viewing the Gas Giant, don't miss Brian Ventrudo's An Observer's Guide to Planet Jupiter which includes a NASA video of the Great Benefic, the largest planet in our Solar System (only the Sun is larger.)

Astrological Jupiter in Virgo

As you know, Pisces, the sign of the March 9, 2016 Solar Eclipse, is traditionally ruled by Jupiter (and sub-ruled by oceanic Neptune, discovered in 1846.) Jupiter also rules Sagittarius, sign of The Seeker, which resonates with astrological Jupiter's hierophant/codified religion/ideology facets of this boundary breaking planet. When in Pisces, societal planet Jupiter spotlights potentials in the Collective that magnify tendencies of the 'swim up or swim down' sign of Pisces--to the heights or to the depths of humanity. Spirituality and compassion are part of Piscean realms as well and Virgo-Pisces is the victim-savior axis of the Zodiac. Turn on the news and we hear both sides of the human condition playing out across the globe with altruism, impressionability, overindulgence in negative escapism such as alcohol and other drugs receiving constant mentions.

The March 9th Solar Eclipse in its role as 'wild card' of the Universe will behave as eclipses often do: uncovering secrets and scandals, many of which may be inconvenient for those affected--and 2016 candidates and various politicians are not exempt especially if they have natal planets or points in the 17-19 degrees of Virgo or Pisces! Also of interest in the realms of Political Astrology: the March 9th eclipse is the Pre-Natal Eclipse of both the RNC and DNC nomination events in July. Tap or click the eclipse link, above, for more info.

While traveling through Mercury-ruled Virgo, expansive Jupiter tends to activate such traits as: ethical and moral values, the urge to gain knowledge, teaching, excessive ambition, superficial criticism, an ability to organize, thoughtlessness, and the possibility of harmonious teamwork. (The Combination of Stellar Influences, Reinhold Ebertin.) To this I would add scientific (Virgo) breakthroughs or discoveries (Jupiter) with Jupiter also signifying exploration and finances (Wall Street is loaded with Jupiterians!) Big (Jupiter) Plans (Mercury) are on the political agenda. (Note that Mercury also rules trading and deals such as those promised in the rhetoric of Donald Trump, the artful deal-maker.)

So as you see, some of the traits on the Jupiter-in-Virgo list relate to Campaign 2016, plus, two of the many hats astrological Jupiter may wear are The Politician and The Broadcaster. Campaign promises (Jupiter) include more jobs (Virgo) and better access to (free or more affordable) education which Jupiter in Virgo naturally favors.

So perhaps even armchair astronomers may care to tip their hats in honor of Jupiter, King of Planets, on March 8, 2016--he's a bright beauty!

Update Feb 19, 2016: here's a scientific breakthrough in space thanks to photography and the Hubble Telescope: what's a 'Super' Jupiter?
