Donald Trump's opinion of bragging politicians 1999

"My entire life, I’ve watched politicians bragging about how poor they are, how they came from nothing, how poor their parents and grandparents were. And I said to myself, if they can stay so poor for so many generations, maybe this isn’t the kind of person we want to be electing to higher office. How smart can they be? They’re morons.”

Donald Trump, The New York Times 1999 “Liberties; Trump Shrugged” (a reference to Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged)

So, poor people who voted for Mr. Trump and continue to support him: he thinks you're morons. And some people think Trump voters are morons--not because they're poor but because they voted for this unqualified, lewd, emotionally childish moron now wandering the halls of the White House and wishing he were somewhere else.

However, that's not the only interpretation of Trump's words in 1999 to journalist Maureen Dowd. And perhaps you know that Trevor Noah of The Daily Show is credited with 'digging up' the 1999 NYT article. Here's a piece including a video segment of The Daily Show episode where Noah discussed and critiqued Mr. Trump's 1999 quote on bragging politicians and the morons who, as it turned out in 2016, voted for his nibs who played them like a fiddle.

And here's a very much related don't-miss article I Know Why Poor Whites Chant Trump, Trump, Trump by Jonna Ivin, with a grateful shout out to my friend, writer Terry Woodson Burger for the heads-up!

It's Time For The Media To Push Back On Lies! - video

Here's an interesting segment from yesterday's Thom Hartmann Show but I must ask: if we could take lying away from the media and the politicians they 'cover', how could any of them communicate? Why, the false reality they feed us these many years would dissolve and show its true face behind the elaborate mask they've created to keep the public uninformed and diverted from the facts:

Astro-Notes: John Oliver April 23, 1977

HBO's Last Week Tonight is hosted by a British comedian with a dry sense of humor that American politicians, Politics, and society royally need. My theory has been to ridicule the powerful as much and as often as possible and John Oliver does not disappoint. In fact, Oliver is brilliant at it--first on Comedy Central's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and now on his own, Last Week Tonight.

A Few Astro-Notes on Political Satirist John Oliver

Without knowing a correct birth time I'm using 'noon' on his birth date of April 23, 1977 Erdington, West Midlands, England. And although during the day the Moon left Gemini and reached 00Cancer00, a Cardinal World Point of prominence and fame, the more descriptive personality blend for John Oliver seems to be Sun in Taurus with natal Moon in communicative, witty Gemini rather than in the domestic, emotional, self-protective sign of Cancer. And of course, by progression, natal Moon in Gemini would still have triggered 00Cancer some months after birth--or years by Solar Arc.

If my surmise is correct, Sun Taurus-Moon Gemini is an Earth-Air combination of energies which identifies Mr. Oliver as innovative, rational, and able to bring together abstract thought with real world issues. This is a 'practical idealist' whose aim is to 'come to grips with reality while making his efforts as humane and far-reaching as possible' and this his reports on Last Week Tonight certainly do.

A dry sense of irony and humor are evident in this blend along with an adroit and accurate use of language. A caution is to not allow the personality to become 'dry as dust' since the emotional realm may not be a strong suit. Potentials embedded within one major midpoint picture between the three outer planets may also describe Oliver's comedy style and career objectives: Neptune-Pluto = Uranus: disruption to gain recognition; adventurous ego thrust; making waves to get to shore; possibly aberrant behavior (Tyl); flair for the unusual (Ebertin).

With a birth date of April 23, 1977, we know that John Oliver's Pre-Natal Solar Eclipse Series is the 15 South which manifested on April 18, 1977 @28Aries. Its themes include a lingering situation that suddenly clears up with a collective sense of loss or grief and a sudden release of tension (Brady). 15S last manifested on May 9, 2013 @20Taurus but may not have had a particular influence on his life in 2013--or did it since natal Sun @3Taurus may be within orb but natal Mercury @13Taurus is not within a 5-degree orb of 20 Taurus.

Well, this is only a snippet of a portrait of John Oliver with no birth hour known to determine chart angles and cusps. Let's close with a list of his planets' approximate positions at noon on his day or birth. Besides sign-ruler (dispositor) information, emotional tendencies and childhood conditions are shown by the Moon's sign; his ego drive and sense of self by the Sun's sign, thinking processes and communications style by Mercury's sign; the sort of relationships he attracts and is attracted to is shown by the sign of Venus; desires and motivation by the sign of Mars; how he relates to others is shown by Jupiter's sign; flaws or fears and a sense of authority by Saturn's sign, behavior by the sign of Uranus; dreams and illusions are eluded to by Neptune's sign, and sense of power and a deep well of creativity by Pluto's:

Sun 3Taurus; Moon 28Gemini; Mercury 13Taurus; Venus 8Aries; Mars 26Pisces; Jupiter 4Gemini; Saturn 10Leo; Uranus 10Scorpio; Neptune 15Sagittarius; Pluto 12Libra.

"A World Gone Mad" -- a Max Igan video

If you're anything like me you're finding the global crime syndicate with all its oppressive excesses and slimy tentacles mightily tiresome about now and worth all the ridicule we can heap upon its instigators and their political allies. Or, you may wish to approach things from a perspective where a higher yet practical view is offered.

USA: 545 People in charge and culpable

Now here's a bunch of what I've been grousing about on this blog for years - Washington politics as mass con game, and it's put in plainer words than mine usually are, even if you include my contention that the US has, alas, only a one-party system of government:

545 PEOPLE

By Charlie Reese

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does.

You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.

You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.

You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices - 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it.

No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? Nancy Pelosi. She is the leader of the majority party.
She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red .

If the Army & Marines are in IRAQ , it's because they want them in IRAQ

If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.

They, and they alone, have the power.

They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses.

Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.

We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

What you do with this article now that you have read it...is up to you.

Well, this blogger is publishing '545 People' on this blog and hopefully its author, Mr. Reese, will approve.

His words remind me that the US and world banking systems have been based on a mass and massive con game, too...and now that the smarmy underpinnings are showing, the thieves can't trust one another to deal!

Thoughts of Bill Clinton 6.24.08

It's been quite a while since I posted on anyone's Minor Progressions which indicate the Mental/Causal plane of thoughts which are striving to be integrated into consciousness.

And since I've blurbed about Minors here before, I'll skip the long explanation (see astrologer Robert Blaschke's excellent work on Progressions) and give the midpoint pictures for Bill Clinton's Minor Progressed chart, set for this afternoon.

All, none, or some combination of these pictures may be in play for Mr. Clinton who now embraces the candidacy of his wife's victorious opponent, Barack Obama, so see if any seem to apply.

Remember the Minors are the '27' in the ratio: 27:13:1, with '13' being the Tertiary Progressions (Intuitive-Emotional-Spiritual plane), and '1' as Secondary Progressions (Physical plane.)

Now let's 'peek under the hood' of Bill Clinton, shall we?

Sun/Saturn = Uranus: unusual circumstances; relationships crises; a clash between new ways of doing things and long-established ways; the fight for individuality.

Sun/MC ('the goal') = NN: picking one's associates carefully; forming relationships.

Moon/Mars = Sun: solidarity between husband and wife especially felt by the latter; the power to establish oneself in the world; prosperity through harmonious cooperation.

Mercury/Jupiter = Sun: success with the intellect; creative ideas are born; solutions are illuminated.

Moon/Venus = Mars: living passionately; potential overindulgence.

Moon/NN = Jupiter: confidence; good fortune through interactions with others.

Mars/MC = Jupiter: promotion in professional status; great success; energy and opportunity; a good organizer; prudence; far-sightedness; clear consciousness of objectives; a happy attachment.

And the only really difficult in the bunch which is actually between generational planets and thus in effect for people born around the same time as Bill...

Saturn/Uranus = Pluto: the desire to overcome a difficult situation through extraordinary efforts; rebellion against one's lot in life; harm through force majeure; brutality; upheaval to protect assets; tremendous fear of loss.

Well, there they are, the current Mental/Causal plane's midpoint pictures of former President Bill Clinton. Whether one chooses to act upon thoughts that swim up from the unconscious or not is, of course, up to the driver--obsessions and compulsions notwithstanding!

May 13, 2008

are all political jokes mean?

Because this one seems about right to me:

Presidential candidates, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and John McCain were flying to a convention.

Barack looked at Hillary, chuckled and said, "You know, I could throw a $1,000 bill out of the window right now and make somebody very happy."

Hillary shrugged her shoulders and replied, "I could throw ten $100 bills out of the window and make ten people very happy."

John added, "That being the case, I could throw one hundred $10 bills out of the window and make a hundred people very happy."

Hearing their exchange, the pilot rolled his eyes and said to his
co-pilot, "I could throw all 3 of them out of the window and make 156 million people very happy."

(note to John: $10 ain't gonna do it.)#

Well, spending today with my local phone service provider has yielded what should be some progress in the blogging department...you can't blog if you can't connect, so hopefully things will improve around Stars Over Washington!

Now if only it were that simple for we-the-people to get Washington politicians to improve.

Barack Obama's Jupiter in Aquarius

Here's a post on Senator Obama's Jupiter in Aquarius which you may find of interest.

Shared by Albert Einstein and Walt Whitman, this is an intellectual and curious placement for expansive Jupiter and often draws its native toward working for the collective.

Plus, Obama's Jupiter-Saturn conjunction is helpful for those with political aspirations and seems to have been of benefit to him so far!

McCain's Progressed chart: April 2008

The Secondary Progressions of Senator John McCain are viewable here if you have a moment. There's some interesting timing going on now with McCain so I've set his Secondary Progressed chart for April 2008. Have a sneaky peek!

You'll find that his Natal chart is there as well in the sidebar as a separate Page.

Now let's see: born Aug 29, 1936...2008 minus 1936...yep, McCain will be 72 this August, and sometimes the 72nd year brings a new chance to show one's talents...uh oh.

US economy: what would FDR do?

Stephanie Salter has an article concerning not just Washington DC's FDR Memorial but some of Roosevelt's policies, economic and otherwise.

What Would FDR DO? contains some of the quotations which are engraved in his Memorial in red granite and apply with lasered foresight to today's financial and other societal woes.

Why, it's almost as if he knew ahead of time...

On Jan 20, 2006 I published this: 1933 calling: Hello? also citing a little FDR in quotes such as this...but not this one:

"The structure of world peace cannot be the work of one man, or one party, or one nation. It must be a peace which rests on the cooperative effort of the whole world." Mar 1, 1945

As a lifelong American, one of the Flower Power Generation, this can still evoke in me what it always has--a warm fuzzy feeling about the longed-for unity of all humankind.

Except it's 2008, and I hear his words through a different lens--or perhaps a lens that has been polished into more clarity--FDR's bon mots are code words for the one world government--the New World Order--that we should be fearing, but are kept busy wondering instead where the next house payment is coming from.

(The lens has been polished by the rag of Bush, Clinton, and their like.)

It also is apparent in FDR's words that "one party" can't do it--is a signpost to our "illusory two-party system" which is actually one party in disguise--grinding down our defenses ("con vs lib"; oft-repeated propaganda eventuallly seeps in as truthiness), while rearranging the world to suit their interests both financially and socially, and using revolution and chaos to stir pots, if that's what it takes to perfect the witches' broth.

It Takes a Village, eh Hillary?

President Pet Notions?

"The path of least resistance and least trouble is a mental rut already made. It requires troublesome work to undertake the alternation of old beliefs.

Self-conceit often regards it as a sign of weakness to admit that a belief to which we have once committed ourselves is wrong.

We get so identified with an idea that it is literally a "pet" notion and we rise to its defense and stop our eyes and ears to anything different."
John Dewey

The Clinton's Wedding Day: Oct 11, 1975

Sen. Byrd's speech Mar 19, 2003

Surely now we ALL weep...except for a certain few too proud to admit their infallibility or reveal their true motives.

"Today, I Weep For My Country"

The speech given by Sen. Robert Byrd

Exactly five years ago, on the afternoon of March 19, 2003, mere hours before bombs began falling in Baghdad, Sen. Robert Byrd, D-W.Va., gave a speech on the floor of the U.S. Senate condemning the use of military force in Iraq. As soon as Byrd was finished speaking, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz) delivered a response defending the Bush administration's decision to go to war.

Obama's speech on race March 18, 2008

The Obama campaign has released a transcript of the Senator's speech on race which he gave earlier today in Philadelphia in an attempt to diffuse the furor over his relationship with Pastor Wright, an American citizen who has a right to express his own views.

And here's my post from this morning on Obama's natal Chiron in mystical Pisces which applies to the issues of religion, race, and serving the political gods as he is want to do.

The Virgo/Pisces axis is the victim/savior axis, as you know, and tr Saturn Rx has been within orb of opposing his natal Chiron this year--a time when parental issues come to the surface and humanitarian causes are on the front burner. A presidential candidate mindful of humanitarian issues--is this for real?

Healthcare, the economy, and the war in Iraq were his themes as he asked for America to come together on these issues which are begging for Washington's attention rather than diverting ourselves with (or allowing the media to multiply) the red herrings of presidential rhetoric in avoidance of our dire and real problems.

I have to agree with him there...the divide and conquer tactics of our pretend-two-party system have proven too successful for the People's common good...but it sure keeps the same old fatcat crusties wielding power in Washington, doesn't it?

Mar 7, 2008

Is this the real John McCain?

Has this Navaho deal affected McCain's campaign coffers? Will the cold winds of cynicism blow into his lackluster, Bush-infused presidential bid? Planet Calamari sent SO'W a much-appreciated heads-up on the matter with a link to the orginal article.

This controversy is bigger than the Vicki Eisman flap, but not as sexy by half. What are the odds that mainstream media pay attention?

Years of McCain's bluster about integrity reminds me of the good advice my Mama gave many moons ago: never trust a man who says, Trust Me.

And that surely goes double for the infestors of Washington DC.

Eugene Debs: if you go to Washington

"If you go to the city of Washington, you will find that almost all of those corporation lawyers and cowardly politicians, members of congress, and mis-representatives of the masses claim, in glowing terms, that they have risen from the ranks to places of eminence and distinction. I am very glad that I cannot make that claim for myself. I would be ashamed to admit that I had risen from the ranks. When I rise it will be with the ranks, and not from the ranks." Eugene V. Debs, Socialist, Activist, Presidential Candidate (1855-1926)

Eugene V. Debs#

~~~
Here's a link to a previous article on Debs where I give Debs' natal chart details along with more pertinent words from the man himself:
Eugene Debs still speaks convincingly demonstrates a quote which shows a directness which *most political Washingtonians of 2008 sorely lack--they're too busy trying to create the illusion of infallibility and keep their bald patooties covered!
*Even if I fail to say so, I always keep in mind that there possibly could be 1-2% of them infesting DC who actually mean well--but look who they have to deal with. Hang out with charlatans, scoundrels, and scalliwags long enough and you know what that makes you!
Spotlight on Mercury: Hillary Clinton
Here you see the most often used natal chart for Senator Hillary Clinton, Oct 26, 1947 8:00 pm CST, Chicago, IL, rated DD for dirty data as her birth time is unverified.
This is why I've not published or written much on her before. And I do think that one of the possible charts (for 8:02 am) makes a lot of sense because it gives this lifelong politician an ASC of 22Sco07, Mercury-SN rising, with Venus, Chiron, and Sun 2Sco19 in 12th house.
12th house Suns are quite prevalent for politicians including George Bush--it's a secretive placement good for deals behind-the-scenes with the true character well-hidden. At 8:02 am natal Moon would remain in Pisces although earlier--22Pis51, and the Mc/Ic axis you see here would flip--MC becomes Virgo rather than Pisces. (Senator Barack Obama's natal Chiron is 5Pis+.)
But my current purpose is to take a peek at natal Mercury, planet of thinking processes and communicating styles--a very important planet for anyone but esp for a politician who may be propagandizing at us ad nauseum from the proverbial bully pulpit. And birth time won't affect Mercury factors mentioned below...
Some general notes on Mercury in Scorpio:
Mercury in Scorpio gives an intuitive mind capable of deep insights, and perceptions which allow critical examination of human motivations. Things may be seen accurately but not necessarily in a charitable fashion.
Mincing words to spare others feelings must be learned for it does not come naturally to a Scorpio Mercury--if Clinton can't say what she really feels, she'd rather remain silent. This can be similar to a Mercury-Pluto conj (a la George Bush) which gives cruel speech and a talent for catapultin' the propaganda.
Many plans--'planning' is also a function of Mercury--are carried out in secret and communication occurs only with a definite purpose toward what she is trying to accomplish.
If Mercury is afflicted--and one may say that Mercury conj SN is an affliction, for it is somewhat similar to having a Mercury/Saturn conjunction, plus Mercury is actually squared by Saturn 21Leo21--there can be scheming, plotting, and ulterior motives. Well, okay--she's a politician in, of all places, Washington DC.
A Scorpio Mercury may also give much mistrust of others but makes a good researcher or detective.
Saturn square Mercury can give a tendency toward excessive worrying, mental inhibitions, and traditional thinking...aka lack of imagination. Overconcern with unimportant details may factor into the worry and there may be difficulty in gaining recognition for original ideas esp from the establishment.
This is the strict-adherence-to-law-and-order Mercury, often at all costs, and a fear of change may lurk just under the surface. Scorpio's influence gives Mercury a proneness toward jealousy and a deep fear of failure (enough to bring on crocodile tears? You betcha! And Moon in Pisces can turn on the waterworks in a flash--very helpful for a political thespian.)
In positions of authority, a Scorpio Mercury may resort to belittling the ideas of others, and trouble may come through written communications and contracts (Whitewater, anyone? Must be more where that came from or I'll eat my beanie bonnet.)
Now you see that Mercury is conjunct South Node (SN)...what of it?
South Node (of the Moon) is karmic in nature--it's where we've developed old ways of dealing with issues--appropriate at the time, but they no longer 'work'. Yet we continue to use them with lackluster results--aka neurosis. Remember her "vast right wing conspiracy"? How people laughed! (I didn't, did you?)
SN, an unconscious point in the chart, also relates to inherited talents, and with Clinton's Mars-Pluto-Saturn trio--all pointing to papa--I assume she has inherited some of her Scorpionic Mercurial traits from the paternal side, yet some must have come from mama (SN)...she got a double helping, I'd say.
Mercury conj SN indicates one whose ideas are either ahead of or behind the times. Positively this conj endows the person with mental originality--much-needed with her Mercury-Saturn square--and we've observed her sense of independence which the separative influence of SN brings. Plus, Mercury-SN often has difficulty with timing in speaking up--and sometimes isn't listened to and so becomes frustrated.
Often forced to proceed alone, it's difficult with this configuration to gain support or to get others to cooperate. Has she figured out how to do this?
If Clinton becomes president we'll all suffer mightily if she hasn't, for America's problems run deep and Washington is no longer known for cooperation unless there's a photo op involved or an earmark to scratch.
In the long run her ideas can prove to be correct if she uses the rest of her chart factors to aid this ahead-of-its-time Mercury-SN conjunction. Overhauling healthcare? Well, we'd be better off now if she had managed to have those ideas accepted then (although I believe those ideas weren't actually Hillary's, but that's okay.)
Whososever ideas she promotes, advances, or brainstorms, my sincere hope is for my only nag in the race...as ever and always, the United States of America.
Paradox in New Hampshire
Assuming the primary count was honest last evening, it seems a paradox that proudly independent New Hampshire went for Hillary Clinton who stood beside her husband on the Mall in Washington DC for the New Millennium Gala on Dec 31, 1999 knowing what they had in store for America.
The promotion of one world government requires world wars and a world economy for their plans. As George Bush spreads his fly weight around the Middle East this week speaking on behalf of peace, he promotes the globalists' one world government--and Israel is in on it.
"For us or against us?" If against, you will be invaded and destroyed.
Has Bush actually brought peace to the world so far? Didn't our real troubles surface at his Oval Office installation? And yet his residency is only part of a years-long process.
Hillary Rodham Clinton knows. She knows and is part of the grand plan. Would New Hampshire support her if they knew her real voice? Tears and vulnerability? Puh-lease! Well, it seems to have worked.
And listen carefully to Bush's words as he combs the Middle East--especially for Oslo Peace Plan. Peace and security, they shout! for the world must be induced to put world citizenship above national citizenship.
The UN has been mum for some time--it won't continue to be, then watch what they say.
And as John McCain achieves his miraculous "comeback" in New Hampshire, he envisions 100 hundred years in Iraq. Big honkin' clue there. The globalists are covered D or R...whoever they vote for, they vote for us. How much clearer could it be?
New Hampshire, the granite state? Perhaps you supplied the stone for the Washington Monument where the thousand points of light shot into the dark night at Bill Clinton's command, Hillary standing by for her chance to take the baton.
Now, at last, she has stepped up to the plate...and the NWO steamrolls along. But now it's "smug and strong-armed maternalism." That must be what Hillary means by "change."
Is Daniel Webster in Iowa tonight?
"...There is no nation on earth powerful enough to accomplish our overthrow...
Our destruction, should it come at all, will be from another quarter. From the inattention of the people to the concerns of their government, from their carelessness and negligence, I must confess that I do apprehend some danger. I fear that they may place too implicit a confidence in their public servants, and fail properly to scrutinize their conduct; that in this way they may be made the dupes of designing men, and become the instruments of their own undoing."
Daniel Webster, June 1, 1837
Thanks for above quote to: Information Clearing House
Hopefully Daniel may rest easy tonight for Iowans are not of that ilk as they make our First Decisions this evening. Yet "dupes of designing men" has become the definition of politics, that system of organized hatreds.
And on a lighter note, here is a little political cat rhymery in honor of the occasion, with prediction thrown in...compliments of Lim the Cat!
