What If the Universe Steps In?

So you know how 'they say' The best laid plans of mice and men? That's because sometimes higher forces interrupt earthly events with 'wild cards' known as eclipses, the most obvious and visible disruptions that few earthlings can ignore.

In case you missed it, here's a recent SO'W post displaying both the Federal Rescerve Act's December 23, 1913 Horoscope with its Moon @15Scorpio (We the People betrayed) and the Lunar Eclipse of May 5, 2023 which 'eclipses' the Fed's 1913 Moon at the very same degree, what I tend to call a cosmic time link. Thanks to the lunar eclipse, we can expect the lunation to reveal, uncover, or leak information, even secrets, which can lead to outcomes such as scandals, karmic changes (positive or negative), and/or course corrections. As many economists agree, Mr. Powell would do the US economy a solid by listening.

Yet we know as with all events and conditions on Planet Earth, some measure of both positive and negative potentials may be blended, not just economically, but with other Scorpionic realms such as corporate big business, investment, the medical and pharmaceutical industries, research, further data breaches, war and diplomacy, and/or spying and surveillance. Such potentials will stretch through the Summer Solstice season while carrying along the themes of the April 2023 Solar Eclipse until the next Solar Eclipse in October 2023.

NYSE transits: Is the US Economy in or approaching Recession?

A Planetary Spotcheck on the NYSE: 2022 into 2023

Whether we look at the horoscope for the NYSE Buttonwood Handshake Agreement of May 17, 1792 NYC that first formed the 'Wall Street Casino', or the reorganization chart of May 11, 1869 (for timing I use the New Moon of that day @20Tau57 at 11:11:27 am LMT NYC), we find several difficult planetary transits of stress and strain in process as the bond yield market inverts which forecasts recession for the US economy, or, alerts us to the fact that the US economy is already in recession. Can Astrology, via a novice astrologer, show such a problem of market instability?

Perhaps, because certain planetary contacts to the 1792 and 1869 charts, shown above, indicate that in general, upheaval is in our financial cards. But since my theory is that no reader makes it to the end of a very long post, I'll simply mention a major transit affecting each horoscope - and both contacts occur three times due to retrogradation which stretches out the effects and conditions:

NYSE May 17, 1792 7:52 am LMT NYC shows wealth-hoarding Pluto @23AQ31, direct and in the corporate Big Business 8th house. However, 1792 Pluto squares 11th house Sun and Mercury Rx in money sign Taurus, therefore, transit Saturn squares them, too, which adds to the difficulties. Yet financier planet Jupiter of 1792 (22Lib57, 4th house) trines 1792 Pluto (big wheeler-dealers), so transit Saturn beneficially trines 1792 Jupiter so that a measure of mitigation of difficulties is provided during the earth-shaking, old order vs new order influences of Saturn conjunct 1792 Pluto exact on: 1. April 19, 2022; 2. July 22, 2022; 3. January 11, 2023. Power and control issues are also part of the Saturn-Pluto picture.

NYSE Reorganization May 11, 1869 NYC New Moon @20Tau57 in 10th house along with money planets Pluto (16Tau36) and Venus (21Tau33); there's a crisis/turning point YOD pattern between Uranus (14Can26 11th house) sextile Pluto at its base representing the reordering or reorganization of Wall Street itself due to crisis conditions, with apex Saturn Rx @15Sag33 in 4th house, planet of karma and of senior, well-established participants. Rounding up old man's Saturn's degree we get a Sabian Symbol significant to our current topic: "Sea Gulls Watching a Ship". And if we read the trio as a midpoint picture we find potentials for egoism, self-will, and exposure to great pressure (R. Ebertin). Great pressure sounds to me like a current condition as well.

Suggesting upheaval, changes, and a very bumpy ride, transit Uranus conjuncts 1869 Pluto three times, exact on: 1. June 6, 2022; 2. November 16, 2022; 3. March 28, 2023. You'll note the November 16th date so near the November 8, 2022 Election Day with Uranus conjunct 1869 Pluto. Perhaps we can agree that violent disruptions interfering with Midterms 2022 voting bodes ill for society on many levels which includes economic issues.

Yet we know that the inverted bond yield indicator isn't written in stone as a recession signpost since its negative effects could be avoided with careful navigation, yet the wealthy elite are apparently lacking confidence in America 'going forward' which may prove even more important since their failure to invest in the US economy can trigger a recession. Why, some of the wealthy villains even supported Trump's violent J6 coup attempt against the US Congress but you can bet that many of them made the bulk of their fortunes off the American people - in our democratic society.

Meanwhile, we should begin to understand more about these issues once banking planet Jupiter Stations and turns Rx on July 28, 2022 @8Ari43. Jupiter will remain inwardly turned (inverted?) until the third week of November 2022 after the 2022 Midterm Elections and the day's Taurus Lunar Eclipse conjunct disruptive Uranus, planet of radical politics and zealots which creates a major problem of instability for financial markets and for Main Street shoppers who stay home out of fear, and who may stay home from the November polls, choosing to Vote By Mail.

So as you see, these major transits to the NYSE charts are already in progress since April and June 2022 which possibly denotes that a recession is already in progress (although other more beneficial transits into 2023 may bring economic relief). But however Wall Street decides to react to these cosmic influences, we may as well expect difficulties through the bond yield market on into 2023 with little if any benefits from retrograde Jupiter's funds or from the Great Benefic's protective function.

Actually, my suspicion is that there are potentials in store for aid delayed and/or blocked efforts to show up on our societal menu, most likely engineered and promoted by sorehead politicians of a regressive persuasion working hard to sabotage our country on behalf of their foreign and domestic handlers and financiers. My feeling is that voting for malevolent saboteurs in the 2022 Midterms will go ahead and sink that Ship (of State), the one the seagulls are watching very intently for signs of faltering.

Therefore, realistically speaking - and as previously noted - these major 2022-2023 transits for a US economy led by Wall Street gentry may be cosmic announcements of a very bumpy ride.

But hey! How about fighting back the toffs? For there's one event full of hope (one of Jupiter's favorite functions!) which was held on June 18, 2022 under the restless influences of the first Uranus-to-Pluto transit to the 1869 chart. As you know, the Uranus-Pluto pair is always active when social protests rise up under great pressure, as we saw with Reverend William Barber's Mass Poor People's and Low-Wage Workers' Assembly and Moral March on Washington and to the Polls.

Neptune in Astrology: Contagion, Erosion, Corruption, Deception, and Secrets

Now I don't know about you, but I'm ready to give urge-to-merge Neptune floating through contagious Pisces some very loud boos. Besides, you know that Pisces is also the sign of fragile health and of course seniors and folks with underlying medical conditions are most at risk of succumbing to Covid-19. Our financial prospects are being undermined now as well and recessive conditions are a mark of Neptunian activities. Other planets are doing damage, too, but it's Neptune in Pisces I'm fussin' about at the moment.

So when can we look forward to transit Neptune leaving its own sign of watery Pisces and entering fiery Aries? Not until the very end of March 2025 for about 6 months or so. Then the Gaseous Giant meanders back into Pisces the third week of October 2025 and makes her final crossing of the Aries Point during the last week of January 2026 where she'll laze about in Aries, to-ing and fro-ing, until 2039.

Besides contagion, infection, fear, and paranoia, Neptune in Pisces has brought to the Collective surface interests in mysticism, psychism, ghosts, seances, UFOs, divine inspirations, perceptions from higher realms, Astrology, cravings of all sorts (particularly for drugs), loss, vagueness, ocean changes, floods and mega-storms, bubbles (including economic ones), deceptions, delusions, illusions, disappointments, pathological tendencies, hypersensitivity, and/or pessimism--to name a few.

Considering Neptune's 164-year cycle, it feels as if long-term karma has left its calling card for humanity.

However, with Neptune in Aries we may expect a continuation of hypersensitivity, and for some, a love of humanity will blossom. There may be longings for far distances, remote viewing could become more of 'a thing', expressions of rich feelings could be heard more often, confusion may reign off and on, insane ideas will astound, while some folks are prone to feeling a sense of aimlessness or nervousness. Yet from some gifted people will come dreams and plans that benefit the social welfare and make a real difference in society!

Saturn-Pluto, Economic Recessions, and Eclipses

The 1981-82 Recession

On November 8, 1982 Saturn and Pluto, both slow-moving planets of karma (reaping what was sown) met @27Lib36 as the unemployment rate in the US reached a distressing 11%. Of course, 1980 was no picnic either with unemployment at 7.5% so that the 1980s decade, aka, the Decade of Greed, began on a low note for millions of US workers particularly in the auto, manufacturing, and construction industries. This created a restrictive atmosphere over the next couple of years with the recession plodding on from July 1981 to November 1982, and, prior to the 2007--08 recession, this had been the worst economic downturn in the US since the Great Depression. Will History Rhyme?

Now in 2019 signs are hinting that another recession is on the horizon or has already begun as heavyweights Saturn and Pluto align once again for another of their approximately 33-year conjunctions, this time in practical Earth sign Capricorn (@22Cap46), a sign that also relates to more than Business and Investments, but also to Politics, Government, and Law. Exact on January 12, 2020 (see link, below), some astrologers see trouble for Trump in or into the New Year (2020), and with this I must agree--for one reason, the 2020 Saturn-Pluto conjunction lands upon Trump's natal Vertex of fated encounters and opposes his natal Saturn.

(Yet even though I have never wanted the self-styled 'King Of Debt' con man with mobster leanings mucking around in the Oval Office, I know that how POTUS goes, so goes America so I must wish him the best. Yet if he was selected to play the POTUS role in order to 'take down' America, he's doing a 'great' job of it so far but my fervent hope remains: that America is stronger than the oh-so-flawed snake oil salesman, Donald Trump, a cantankerous varmint as ever there was.)

Now some economists expect a recession by the end of 2020, some by the end of 2021--so basically, within the next two years. And astrologically, a recession time frame based on cycles may be linked to the next Saturn-Pluto conjunction in Saturn-ruled Capricorn especially since Saturn in its own sign of Capricorn tends to mess with markets even without input from powerful Pluto (a favorite with plutocrats everywhere!) and his extreme wealth and treasure in hidden places, plus, who can forget manipulator Pluto's nasty habit of exploiting the masses.

Then it occurred to me that for more info we can compare eclipse cycles via the Solar Eclipses of 1980, 1981, and 1982 with those of our current day to see how or if they link with one another by Saros Series theme, by degree, or by similar event. So here is an eclipse list I compiled for you, not to alarm but to inform:

1980: February 16 @27AQ (conjunct US natal Moon) 18 South: endings, separations, partings that can lead to positive situations. August 10 @18Leo 19 North: realism, coming down to earth, seeing an old situation for what it really is, a constructive time for tackling the truth. 18 South and 19 North also occurred in 2016--19N is the Prenatal Eclipse Series of Election 2016 and Inauguration 2017 (and we're still trying to 'tackle truth' while Trump and his minions work and sue to hide it). Plus, the 19N eclipse of 1980 is the PE of the Reagan Inauguration of 1981.

1981: February 4 @16AQ 19 South: the lucky win, a pleasant surprise, a joyful event. July 31 @8Leo 1 North: (this is the Mother of All Eclipses series of Nostradamus fame) unexpected events concerning friends or groups place great pressure on relationships; matters loom large but make no hasty decisions since information is distorted or possibly false; health or fatigue issues may be involved. A 1 North eclipse manifested on August 21, 2017 @29Leo as 'The Great American Eclipse' conjunct the natal Ascendant and rising Mars of Donald Trump. You'll remember his taking off safety glasses to look directly at the eclipse like a nimcompoop would do.

Four Solar Eclipses in 1982: 1. January 25 @5AQ (conjunct US natal South Node) 1 South: flooded with ideas and options. A 1 South eclipse occurred @27AQ (conjunct US natal Moon as did the February 16, 1980 eclipse of endings and separations) on February 15, 2018. 2. June 21 @30Gemini 2 Old North: separations, endings of relationships, bad news about relationships or associations; things look glum but fast action can bring good results. 2 Old North is Trump's Prenatal Eclipse series and it repeated for him on July 12, 2018 @21Cancer, about two degrees from his natal 11th house Saturn in watery, emotionally defensive Cancer. He remains desperate to build his lucrative wall (Saturn) to keep out marauders and boost his authority (also Saturn)! 3. July 20 @28Cancer (opposite US natal Pluto Rx) 2 New North: this is The Tower series with themes of: sudden collapse of plans or lifestyles, confusion, rebuilding once the dust settles, and complete changes of direction via the sudden collapse of an existing structure. A 2 Old North eclipse manifested @18Leo (as did the August 1980 19N eclipse) on August 11, 2018, and the series initially began on June 17, 1928 @27Gemini which you may or may not agree links 2018 to economic and market conditions of that time period. 4. December 15 @23Sagittarius (same degree as the upcoming December 2020 4S eclipse, see below) in the 2 South series which is the Saros Series we're now in as we await the July 2, 2019 eclipse. As you know, 2 South imprinted upon the 116th Congress with its theme of: joining unusual groups and gaining a great deal from it and occurred on January 5, 2019 @15Cap25. Plus, 2 South was the PE of the New Millennium!

Coming Soon to a Cosmos Near You

So now we face another solar eclipse in the 3 North series occurring on July 2, 2019 @10Can37--directly in the midst of America's business-oriented Venus-Jupiter-Sun trio of 1776. So basically, the Cosmos gifts America with a solar eclipse for her 243rd birthday which can be positive, negative, or a mixture of both; and of course with any 'wild card' 'cosmic blink' eclipse, a change of direction is indicated along with some measure of Uranian-style disruption. 3N themes are: news concerning a young person or news that transforms a situation and can cause worry or obsession; large plans or activities are wanted but don't get carried away. 3N is the PE of The Crash of 1929 (@18Taurus) and also the PE of the 9/11 attacks for it's the Summer Solstice Eclipse of 2001 (@00Cancer, a World Point of global events) and, besides any economic influences (or perhaps because of them), may again herald a misguided excursion by the US military into yet another war of destruction, plunder, and misery for the masses. Sad to say, that with 'Captain Bone Spurs' at the helm of chaos, outcomes are even more unpredictable than usual.

And we must add here that the June 21, 2020 solar eclipse also perfects @00Cancer - but this time in the difficult 4 North series with themes of: restriction, restraint, inhibition, illusions, separation, and the tendency to misjudge strength or the situation. Next is a 4 South eclipse on December 14, 2020 @23Sagittarius--no picnic either--with themes of: strong emotions over money and/or relationships which are beyond personal control (sense of fatedness), possible endings, and blocks or frustrations; avoid taking rash action until issues settle down. And 23Sag is awfully near Trump's 4th house, problematic Moon-SN conjunction.

Yet as we look toward Summer 2019 and ponder such weighty topics there is at least one thing to be grateful for--that the July 2, 2019 solar eclipse does not perfect upon a Cardinal World Point of Manifestation!

Trump Sets Up Next Great Recession - video report

Feb 3, 2017: you'll remember that Mr. Trump and other of his minions threatened the ruination of the Dodd-Frank legislation and its protections for the American people and the US economy during his campaign and since, and today he's been chipping away at, and will ultimately destroy, its provisions. That seems reckless and irrational because, since having Dodd-Frank in place, the US economy has chugged along under an Obama administration the last eight years while the dandies on Wall Street have been doing just dandy fine. The DOW even broke through the 20,000-point barrier recently and still Mr. Trump is determined to use a sledge hammer where some patching up would do:

But you know those reactionary Republicans--they're attempting the same overkill with Obamacare (the ACA) when it only needs some major patching up in order to be improved--without causing too much strife for those who need its coverage. To this particular Child of the Revolution it seems that the Trumpians are trying their best to send an enraged We the People into the streets with pitchforks raised so the thugs can try out their nifty military style police and other brutal forces against us (not recommended).

The Farts Of Compromise: Hacking The Stimulus

In case you missed it, the Senate version of the stimulus package passed this afternoon (61 to 37) with 3 Republicans riding on its coat tails...Susan Collins, Olympia Snowe, and Arlen Specter. Secret meetings and conference calls have already occurred but officially the Conference Committee is tasked with melding the House and Senate versions into one passable bill.

All this is occurring while Mercury, Rx at the Inauguration, traverses his 'shadow period' until leaving his own shadow and making his way forward early next week, in time for a signing under TV's limelight, I'll wager.

And so, as George Harrison once said, "I'd be quite prepared for that eventuality."

Yet here is Paul Krugman telling which of the badly needed provisions - for the most needy, of course were gutted from the bill.

But you know those Republicans - they'd resign from Congress before they'd feed a hungry child whose mama needed...gasp!...Food Stamps!

(Just kidding - of course they wouldn't resign. And they do know the money belongs to all taxpaying Americans, right? After all, we're the ones who pay. They're the ones who forget to pay.)

Starbucks and recession?

Where there are Starbucks locations in abundance, there may be recession, writes Daniel Gross at Slate Magazine, and there may be something to his theory.

The inflationary Jupiterian words, overreach and overexpansion, come to this reluctant astrologer's mind with Jupiterian excess now being squeezed dry by Saturnian restriction.

Bush press conference #41 2.28.08

Just got done watching Bush on TV, his 41st press conference which began at 10:05 am est, ended 10:52 am, White House Press Room.

Here are his demands (all the following words have "more" in front of them):

drilling, refinery-building, corn, spying, and war.

The US is NOT heading into recession and quelle surprise! he didn't know experts were predicting $4 per gallon gas to come (upshot: he avoids commenting on a difficult subject.)

When asked if he's concerned that a sagging economy will defeat John McCain as it defeated his father in 1992, Bush willingly confessed his concern for American workers.

What good news! I did not know this. An elitist is concerned about the average American worker! Who knew?

He went on to tout that our checks will be in the mail the 2nd week of May, but if you request yours electronically, you'll be rollin' in dough the 1st week of May. Then his advice is: spend and consume. (Your shopping spree will be all too brief.)

During the press conference an apt midpoint was on the Midheaven, the Goal/Aspiration/WHY? Point of the chart:

Jupiter/Neptune = Mc: a visionary; fortune hunter; spend-thrift; speculator; harm or damage through thoughtlessness.

By conference's end (10:52 am) another midpoint had happily taken the place of spendtrift Jupiter-Neptune...

Jupiter/Uranus = Mc: optimism; fortunate powers of adaptibility; a good understanding of things; a fortunate turn; comfortably becoming known for who one is (uh-oh--is the "Unmasking Eclipse" about to out some secret motives?)

When Bush was asked to give "advice" to struggling Americans, Pluto 00Cap51 was conj 8th cusp of Other People's Money/Debt/Insurance/Credit 00Cap22.

His advice? Keep the tax cuts permanent. Yeah, I feel better already--as long as I can avoid filling my car's gas tank.

Now--did Bush have a wee nip before this morning's performance? He was on the slurry side. Evidence? Asteroid Bacchus conjunct the morning's Sun 9Pis24 (Pisces is the sign of negative escapism...alcohol and other drugs. I'm just noting.)

All through the press conference and into the day is a Mutable T-square between the Sun/Saturn opposition that points toward the Moon in Sagittarius which is out-of-bounds (as is Mars)...

Sun/Saturn = Moon: feeling inferior, hurt; personal needs under wraps; fear.

On one level, the Moon-r-us, but also represents Bush who is, I hear, one of the people. And he's the one on display and grabbing publicity (Moon) while he can.

Let's see what Bil Tierney in his Dynamics of Aspect Analysis says about an apex Moon in a Mutable T-square...

this Moon acts from a defensive pose, feels threatened, security is all-important; unstable due to misunderstood impressions from the past; emotionally touchy and high-strung.

Guess I can see why he may have wanted a wee nip.

Well, Bush began speaking during a Venus Hour, ended during a Mercury Hour with asteroid MIDA$ rising. And there was a second midpoint combo at Mc when he began which may tell much of the tale and the main reason for this performance this morning...

Sun/Pluto = Mc: striving for power and control; consciousness of purpose/objective; leadership; vocational crisis or upset and change to adopt new perspectives; violence with emotional consequences; power games with important consequences.

According to Bush, the important consequences refer to keeping the American people safe, but his past lies and deceits would indicate otherwise--that the Senate intell bill he so richly implores Congress to pass NOW is primarily meant to cover his own and his comrades' patooties--and to veil which activists AND politicians they've been spying on in Congress!

Our nation's political institutions in Washington DC are run on money, sex, and blackmail--and not necessarily in that order.

Yes, The Eye is watching its denizens from atop the pyramid and if the privacy rights of the rest of us get in the way, it's a small price to pay for permanent control and dominance. Seems the inmates have taken over the asylum and Bush is drinking again.

Oh! I almost forgot another thing Bush taught me during today's info-promoting Disseminationg phase of the Moon--dreamy-eyed Vladimir Putin is still a great leader.

Now you know Bush is in his own little world to say that!
