things going well in Iraq

Bush Has Destroyed Iraq and America

By Paul Craig Roberts

The violence and killing that Bush brought to Iraq has spread antagonism between Sunni and Shiite throughout the Middle East with potentially draconian consequences. Bush's war has turned Muslim hearts and minds against America and made terrorism an acceptable means to resist American hegemony. With his mindless war, Bush has created more terrorism than the world has ever seen.

Sorry They've Been So Mean To You, George

By Ray McGovern

The role that Tenet, McLaughlin and their small coterie of malleable managers played as willing accomplices in the corruption of intelligence has made a mockery of the verse chiseled into the marble at the entrance to CIA headquarters: "You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

Anonymous Whistleblower at your service

The emailing Anonymous Whistleblower has caused Mr. Wolfowitz (defending his actions today with his World Bank colleagues) much trouble, although as we all must admit, troubles are most often self-created.

Wolfie (my affectionate name for the geezer) has decried the charges against him as an attempt to oust him from his cushy post (duh!) and says he "will not resign in the face of a plainly bogus charge of conflict of interest."

Oh great--if the hydra wins, the heads will sprout even more viciously and it makes you wonder how such a contentious appointment can flourish after the rest of the cat-birders show their colors against Wolfie's undoubtedly autocratic, high-handed rule.

Yet..."smear campaign" he whines! Ethics Panel, you say? Puh...we'll see if they boot him in the end. And Wolfie should recognize a smear campaign when he sees one--he's a cohort of Karl Rove!

Bush, of course, came out with the usual reach-around for the incompetent...once again, it takes one to recognize one.

The Superb Perps Line-up: Brownie, Gonzo, Rummy, Condi, and now Wolfie...those are only the ones who come to a bloggled mind just now...except for Bushie himself.

And then there's Shot Gun Dickie who is a royal pri*k among pri*cks doing what he loves--the pillaging and looting without conscience which passes for governmental expertise in the Bush administration.

So I ask you: what Wolfie did for his girlfriend's bank account, portfolio, and prestige: isn't it similar to what Bush did for Condi? It's just the rarified pot giving the autocratic kettle a reach-around...wink!

SO'W blog-note: it has been brought to my attention that SO'W is simply fraught with screaming typos..and after some consideration I may have figured out the deal--two or three hapless readers are getting my first publish before an EDIT appr 5 mins later. Sorry for that, but sometimes typos slip through until I can grab them on-screen...it's a truly bad habit and I will try to do better in future!

And There's More: this blog views best with IE (for me, Firefox is pretty jumbly here and elsewhere...how about you?); and no, T.K., my own version of 'Cowell' isn't pronounced like Simon's because around here it's Coh' wull...thanks much for asking! -jc

Bush to Democrats: do not 'test my will' on Iraq 27 Apr 2007 Dictator George W. Bush warned Democrats Friday not to "test my will" by passing new legislation on a US troop pullout from Iraq after he vetoes a bill passed by Congress this week. Bush Administration Will Not Assess Surge Results Until September --White House Scales Back Talk of Iraq Progress 28 Apr 2007 The Bush administration will not try to assess whether the troop increase in Iraq is producing signs of political progress or greater security until September, and many of Mr. Bush's top advisers now anticipate that any gains by then will be limited, according to senior administration officials. The timelines they are now discussing suggest that the White House may maintain the increased numbers of American troops in Iraq well into next year.

Iraqi Oil Min Warns Companies Against Deals Bypassing Central Govt 26 Apr 2007 Iraq's Oil Minister Hussein al-Shahristani Thursday warned international oil companies from signing oil contracts that bypass the federal government in Baghdad and the Oil Ministry, in a clear reference to deals signed by the Kurdistan Regional Government with a number of foreign firms. "Foreign companies shouldn't sign any contract that isn't through the federal government (in Baghdad) and the oil ministry," al-Shahristani said in a statement handed to reporters. "Any contract that is signed without the knowledge of the federal government is illegal," the minister said. "The ministry warns companies against violating the Iraqi laws and they would be responsible of such behavior," the minister said.#

Full Moon May 2 + the White House

On May 2, there is a Full Moon 11Sco38/11Tau38, and here you see my messy scribbles of the Full Moon around the chart for the White House (Oct 13, 1792; Sun-at-MC.)

To see a few White House chart details (sunrise) see my Feb 15th post here if you wish.

This Full Moon occurs at 6:09:22 am edt in Washington, DC, and is in the 1/7 house polarity which concerns Relationships. Mercury and Venus are in mutual reception and it's a Venus hour...and she's out-of-bounds to boot.

(Venus = relationships; values; money.)

As you know, a Full Moon is the culmination of something begun at the New Moon--and you may remember that Alberto Gonzales was due to testify on Capitol Hill about the politically-handled purge-surge the day of the last New Moon, April 17--but his testimony was postponed because of the tragedy at VA Tech the day before. (What AG actually accomplished concerning the tragedy is anyone's guess.)

Here I shall discuss some of the more pertinent factors in the Full Moon chart which include a very busy Uranus (the reformer; the rebel; the witness) in the middle of four midpoints:

Sun/MC ("the goal") = Uran: shifts of position; a 'restless spirit'; a revolutionary or a rebel; inner conflicts; sudden change of objective.

Mars/NN = Uran: active cooperation; sudden upsets that may affect many people; organizing activity.

Mercury/MC = Uran: formulating new objectives; throwing caution to the wind because of great confidence; nerve; directing thoughts suddenly to new channels; being impelled to sudden action; ambition; mental irritability.

Sun/Mercury = ASC: a critical attitude toward others; contact with young people, scientists, or businessmen.

ASC/MC ("ID awareness; higher self + lower self") = Ura: quickly responsive; adventurous; quick determination; a spoiling of one's plans.

Nebulous, elusive Neptune is at the Mars/MC ("ego-conscious action; change of status") midpoint:

Mars/MC = Nep: diffusion needs focus; creativity is off-the-mark; lack of power to succeed; making the wrong arrangements; failures.

As you know, I've touted the lonely, isolated Saturn-in-Leo quite a bit here on SO'W, and we see Saturn (authority; control) in Leo, sign of The Leader, as the apex planet in a FIXED T-square with the Full Moon--but first here's the midpoint picture:

Sun/Moon = Saturn: difficult concerns in relationship; addressing problems; increasing loneliness; inhibitions or depression; separation from the community or in relationships; renunciation; difficulties in relationship with the other sex.

Saturn as apex planet in a FIXED T-square:

This describes one who is rigidly organized, intensely purposeful, and is willfully unyielding to the nth degree. There's a compulsive drive to tightly control people, situations, and events.

He is one-pointed about preserving the structures he values and insists on completely overpowering and manipulating all matters under his authority--there's no sharing of the cat-bird seat with him. When challenged to surrender his indomitable will to carry out his orders, he experiences great internal conflict and is ruthless in how he calculates securing his power...the dictator.

Guess that covers the decider mentality of George Bush as well, doesn't it?

In fact this describes Bush's current "I'll VETO it" stance.

With Venus out-of-bounds and acting on her own (Monica Goodling? Condi Rice?) we see that Taurean (stubborn; intolerant; avaricious) Venus is the chart-ruler, and is in duplicitous Gemini--and is very near Bush's natal Uranus/NN conjunction. Uranus/NN relates to political groups advocating reforms. As a double sign, a Geminian Venus could relate to TWO women, and both ladies have subpoena issues with which to deal...and they both have the "goods" on Bush if they'll just spill the beans.

Uranus/NN = Venus: camaraderie is important. (But who knows where the bodies are buried is what I want to know.)

As you may already be aware, the tr Saturn/Pluto midpoint ("cruelty; violence; hard hard work; potential self-destruction") is now affecting Bush's natal IC (foundation of the chart; endings; the drain) which then affects natal MC (Aspirations; Career and Public Status) so we see that:

Saturn/Pluto = MC: desire to rise from difficult circumstances through the application of tenacity and endurance; severity; one-sidedness; major separaton as a last resort (Al G? Monica G? Condi R? Laura B?); an adept.

Opposite this picture is another: tr Venus/Neptune = Bush's natal MC:

losing oneself in illusions.

With Bush's power being based on the illusion of being elected with a "mandate from the people" (ahhh--good times, I remember it well!), his illusions of power and control are waffling in the wind he so adventurously threw caution into...and anything at MC is out there for all to see.

Now how does this Full Moon of May 2 relate to the natal chart of the White House itself?

Click to enlarge the double chart, if you will...

the Full Moon's MC (6:09:22 am edt, White House, May 2) is: 23Cap24, with the tr Pluto/Chiron midpoint now at 22Cap06...and you know that Pluto/Chiron = oppression; class warfare; racism; and in a word, plutocracy. MC = Aspirations...the WHY of any chart.

In the 1792 White House natal chart, Pluto/Chiron was positioned at 10Tau35--the Full Moon's Mercury = 10Tau46! Mercury = can we talk?

And we can winnow out a midpoint pic from the W-House n Saturn 29Ari20 with the Full Moon's Mercury and ASC...

Mercury/Saturn = ASC: backing off from responsibilities; being aloof; preoccupied with one's own thoughts and plans; isolation.

Does this sound like any White House you know?

White House's natal Mars 11Sag27 is conjunct the Pluto/Chiron conj of Dec 30, 1999 which is when I believe many of Karl Rove's and the Bush family's machinations were put in play to swipe the presidency by hook or crook (Rove has the hook and Bush is the crook? Or vice versa.)

And since parallels by declination make excellent timing devices--and may act as strong conjunctions--I have mentioned before that Pluto and Chiron were parallel one another in mid-August 2004. The conj of the the pair was at 11Sag23...conj the White House's natal Mars, as stated.

There was a New Moon on Aug 15, 2004 at 23Leo31...Leo, sign of Leadership and of Acting. The MC in this New Moon chart (set for the W-House) was 28Sag49, with asteroids Morya, Pandora, and Icarus upon it....and Vesta was rising with Hermes, the trickster (Rove) in tow. This New Moon occurred in Bush's natal 1st house of Self.

So Dec 30, 1999 and August 15, 2004 hook up with both presidential elections bwo of the abusive power of the Pluto/Chiron duo. Of course, there are those who say that America has always been a plutocracy, and I hardily agree.

But the founders didn't tend to use this power against the people the way our current crop of criminals are so fond of doing.

And it wouldn't surprise me if the great Pluto/Chiron planning sessions were held AT the White House (with Bill Clinton in attendance) in Dec of 1999 or early 2000, esp with the Great Jupiter/Saturn conj of May 28, 2000 about to occur...Rs + Ds giving each other major reach-arounds.

(You may have noticed I don't trust Rs OR Ds as far as I can throw them--and I'd like to throw them.) Jupiter = Republic-an Party, Saturn = Democrat-ic Party.

And a 'funny' thing about the Full Moon of May 2, 2007...tr Pluto 28Sag43 is conjunct Mercury in the Dec 30, 1999 chart when Pluto conjuncted Chiron...Mercury also 28Sag43!! Partile (exact)!

Pluto to Mercury = thoughts, plans, ideas become empowered and deepened...previous concepts and methods are altered and transformed...karmic links with young people (or scientists or businessmen)...demand for new perspectives...persuasion ability...propaganda.

The Sabian Symbol for "12Sag"--which is conj US natal ASC in the Sibly chart is:

"A flag that turns into an eagle that crows"...ADJUSTMENT:

pos: successful self-establishment through genuine self-expression;

neg/unconscious/shadow side: idle prejudices and unsubstantiated claims.

Like the unsubstantiated claims for invading Iraq?

Well there's much more I could say, but if you're like me, you're fed up with this stinky crew (we ALL need a break)...so you may wish to see my last post on the Group I joined this morning called Bushwacker Truth Brigade at Gather.com where you may find some articles of interest.

Tenet's tell-something book released

When George Slam-Dunk Tenet "resigned" a while back, I said, oh good, maybe he'll write a readable book. And so the worm turns.

But it remains to be seen whether his scribbles will amount to an outing of the crims and merely justifying his own duplicities--or coming clean with the goods and embracing the realities which challenge this administration so dearly for our nation's sake.

You may wish to get former agent Mr.A.Cat's take on the situation at Lim's Limericks for now--and I'll be back in a while with a SO'W post on the upcoming Full Moon of May 2...and how it affects the White House's natal chart...

it's only 'Bush fatigue'

Got the sniffles? Feelin' achy? No worries!

Bush 41 told CNN's Larry King Monday night that "the electorate may be experiencing Bush fatigue."

More like a raging case of Epstein-Barr. Besides, an "electorate" implies that Bush 43 was actually elected and that our votes count! Well-played, H.W., well-played.

Bush 41 is not-so-subtley cluing us in that Jeb will be sitting out the 2008 election, and with the usual Bush aplomb predicts that Jeb may enter politics again in the future...a threat if there ever was one.

"I hope Jeb, who left office looking good, is not through with politics," he said, giving his other son a reach-around for the White House.

Apparently meetings have been held and their best bet is being waged...a different globalist name in between the Bush players has been decided upon and little Jeb must be patient.

Guess that means Bush 41 thinks Dubya has done such a superb job that Jeb deserves to be shoved into the White House as well. Puh.

The link below to CNN's article has become a Never Mind link--it seems to be MIA now...perhaps you can stomach the video instead at ThinkProgress.org or perhaps not.

Here's the missing link...good luck:

Blair's big buh-bye in May?

News Update from Citizens for Legitimate Government 22 April 2007:

LegitGov.org Breaking News

Blair Set to Quit On May 9 22 Apr 2007: Tony Blair will leave Downing Street before a decision is taken on charges in the cash for honours affair. The Prime Minister was yesterday said to be preparing to stand down on May 9. That will trigger a seven-week leadership election process in the Labour Party and a new PM - probably Gordon Brown - will move into 10 Downing Street at the end of June.#

Perhaps Blair should sneak out the back door...?

a starry eye on Newt

Today Newt Gingrich was on tv spouting his usual rational sounding political maneuverings. Since his birth info is in dispute with birth time unverified, no chart for you. But some details are still possible such as his Sun/Moon personality blend.

Born June 17, 1943 in Harrisburg, PA, the Moon was in Sagittarius the whole 24-hour period so let's look at the Images for Sun Gemini/Moon Sag:

The Pied Piper leads his merry band of youths to the amphitheater on the hill for an afternoon of music lessons, philosophical teachings, and baseball...A young man goes abroad to attend university and becomes a foreign correspondent. (Sun Sign-Moon Sign, Charles and Suzy Harvey.)

The italics are mine...the Hill? It sounds like the staged patriotic songfest on the Capitol steps when they coup'd the House. Perhaps that measley performance for the cameras was Newt's idea. A bunch of singin' whiffenpoufs?

This Air-Fire Gem/Sag combo has several things to recommend it and tells of a flamboyant communicator who is an intellectual with a reverence for ancient learning (secret old manuscripts, anyone?)

There is an emotional immaturity which is, at least, spontaneous for this eternal scholar who is outspoken, loves traveling (restless), and is friendly but impatient.

He possesses a vivid imagination with huge heapings of optimism and quick wit. There is a tendency to talk too much and often indiscreetly (perhaps he isn't close-mouthed enough for White House intrigues!) and there is a need to know it all--and may seem to be a know-it-all.

Newt's (WHO would saddle an innocent infant with the name, Newt???) Sun/Moon blend is shared natally with such notables as: actor Douglas Faribanks, political activist Rennie Davis, Judy Garland, Barry Manilow, Guy Lombardo, Beverly Sills, and Prince Rainier of Monaco. It's also shared with philosopher/poet, Katherine Raine who wrote:

As a child I became a confirmed believer in the ancient gods simply because as between the reality of fact and the reality of myth, I chose myth...myth is the truth of fact, not fact the truth of myth.

Gingrich has stated that as a child he discovered books and "became big words." (I won't mention the big words I think he became if you won't.)

So if the GOP can figure out a way to make an end-run around Newt's romantic tangles and infidelities, do you think they'll run this nag in 2008?

He seems to break off relationships appr every 18-19 years which is in line with his Nodal Returns--or Half-Returns...which is not surprising to astrologers.

North Node = joining; associations, while South Node = separations; partings (if relationships are already weak, the Half-Return will usually time a break-up.)

His Prenatal Eclipse Series (PE), 17South, is one of "sudden success in group endeavors and relationships; good news" (Predictive Astrology, Bernadette Brady.)

A Solar Eclipse last occurred in this Series on March 9, 1997 at "19Pisces."

Gingrich's natal Venus and Pluto in Leo (as has George Bush--both in Leo--ooh la la!) are connected to his PE as you might expect with all his lady loves and wives scattered about the place (I exaggerate--or do I?)

If you can take more of the Newt, you may want to read Mr.A.Cat's opinion at Lim's Limericks where you'll find a photo of a GOP kittycat pondering Newt's romantic intrigues which may albatrossedly plague him as he pushes forward--and turns up on our tvs--into 2008.

Cho Seung-Hui 1.18.84

Update July 25, 2009: Cho's medical files have been found and were 'accidentally' taken home by the doctor who once served at Cho's school. The records are said to have been packed up with other papers by Dr. Miller when he left the school's employ some 14 months prior to the shootings and were discovered by him only last week. #

Original post begins here:

It was not my intention to post Cho Seung-Hui's natal chart (or Seung-Hui Cho, if you prefer) but having a few requests for it I'm relenting.

If you click to enlarge, you'll see some chicken scratch notes I've made although there's not room around the chart for all the transiting planets for April 16, 2007, day of the Virginia Tech shootings.

I have relocated his natal chart to Blacksburg, VA which is a way of seeing how a location affects a person for I've not found the exact location of his birth in South Korea.

You see on the chart some T-square formations intepreted which are dependent upon the time (using sunrise)--ordinarily I might not mention them but they seem to apply to this melancholic, obsessive young man.

Cho's Pre-Natal Eclipse (PE) is in the 3 South (3S) Series and we find that Bernadette Brady, in her book, Predictive Astrology, gives this Series as:

sudden endings with an emotional component; traumatic transformations.

"His" Eclipse prior to birth occurred Dec 4, 1983--and again on Dec 14, 2001 at 22Sag56. As you know, tr Pluto has been at this degree several times of late, deepening the meaning of his PE. (Late 2001 and the first half of 2002 may be significant to his ongoing emotional traumas.)

Here are the midpoints of the T-squares - which involve his obsessive Mars/Pluto conjunction - in case you cannot read my scribbles on the chart, or in case you are not visiting SO'W in person:

Sun/Moon = Mars: drive for fulfillment; urge toward fruition; the desire for marriage;

Sun/Moon = Pluto: a soul torn by inner conflict; having a biased attitude; changed circumstances leading to separation from others;

Moon/ASC = Mars: temperamental upset at the slightest sense of frustration; moody; conflicts with women;

Moon/ASC = Pluto: over-dramatization or obsessive importance of relationships; personal relationship with tragic consequences.

On April 16, tr Ceres was conjunct tr Moon 11Ari28 (at 7:00 am edt), and testy Mars was conjunct natal Ceres (7Pis42.) Ceres, the Mother, relates to security issues, and I believe these conjs are significant due to some of Cho's natal PE and other factors such as:

Uranus conj SN: upset by changing social conditions including war, revolutions, and there's a determination to preserve traditional worthwhile values against the onslaught of fads and new social movements.

Mars conj Pluto: obsessive determination and willfulness toward goals which may be only a deep desire to prove to the self that the goal can be achieved, then it isn't desired anymore. There is an unflinching ability to face danger, even death. In a crisis the immense power of this conj can be contained until the right moment to act, then all the power of Mars/Pluto is unleashed.

The Mars/Pluto conj gives an awareness of social problems in the environment but the persuading ability becomes demanding and has a threatening quality to it which others avoid.

Jupiter conj Neptune: tends to do everything in excess. Much delusion follows a tendency to carelessly trust confidences given to others because there's an assumption that they are trustworthy. In love there is a deep desire to believe that the relationhip will lead to marriage and a spiritual understanding of social obligations is well-developed.

Cults, drugs, and charletans must be carefully avoided for there is an extreme idealism with this conjunction and a touchy emotionalism that leads to emotional disappointments.

Here are two natal midpoint pictures not dependent on birth time both of which involve lusty Venus, a planet of relationships and of values:

Sun/Saturn = Venus: suppressed feelings; lovesickness; reserve;

Uranus/Neptune = Venus: high sensitivity; reveling in love; active fantasy life; peculiar love.

As I've mentioned in a previous post, on April 16, tr Mars and tr Venus (conj tr Midas) were squared which is key to understanding Cho's actions (Mars) on that day...squares represent blockages or obstacles. This relates to the above-mentioned T-squares in his natal chart (sunrise) giving conflicts with women; relationship with tragic consequences.

Natally Cho's Moon is out-of-bounds so his emotions (Moon) were not well-integrated with the rest of the chart. There are other indications of melancholy and feelings of inferiority as well which I won't go into now and which possibly are related to his lack of eye contact mentioned by roommates.

His Sun-Moon combo is Sun Cap/Moon Cancer at sunrise, but later, on the day he was born, the Moon entered Leo.

The Sun Cap/Moon Leo seems to apply more to what we know of his personality as of yet so I'm giving that combo's Image:

After a lone, silent climb up your mountain you greet the spotlight and television cameras with flair and aplomb.

Cho was noted for his silence, yet, a Leo Moon has a reigning need for recognition and approval. The "spotlight" and tv cameras are an obvious, aren't they?

He had a lack of ego definition which often results paradoxically in an overweening egotism, and given his Mars/Pluto conj's need for control, his tendency toward lovesickness and reveling in love fantasies, and a deep sense of inferiority, I believe a spurning by the young lady in question was used by Cho to ignite his judgmental traits and obsessions. (Or perhaps it was a mind ocntrol issue?)

My hope is that this is all I will be posting on this young man, and my thoughts and prayers continue to be with the families and friends of the victims and with the Cho family who are under such a crushing burden.

3D photos of the Sun and Comet Thatcher

Get out your 3D specs, m'peops!

Space Weather News for April 20, 2007:

3D SUN: On Monday, April 23rd, NASA will release for the first time 3-dimensional photos of the sun taken by a pair of spacecraft named STEREO. Magnetic loops, prominences and plumes will practically leap out of your computer screen. These images will be displayed on big screens at many museums and science centers around the USA and posted on the internet. You can get ready this weekend by buying or building some 3D glasses.

Visit SpaceWeather.com for instructions--and stay tuned for Monday!

WEEKEND METEORS: Earth is entering the dusty tail of Comet Thatcher, and this will cause a mild meteor shower this weekend. It's called the Lyrid meteor shower because the bits of incandescent comet dust appear to come from the constellation Lyra. The best time to look is during the dark hours before dawn on Sunday, April 22nd, and Monday, April 23rd, when you can expect to see a shooting star overhead every 5 minutes or so.

Vermont Senate says Impeach!

Today the Vermont Senate voted 16-9 (some stayed away from the chamber) to impeach Bush and Cheney.

Citing "serious questions about constitutionality, statutory legality, and abuse of the public trust" the measure was passed without debate.

Personally I'm fatigued with such debate and ask what many have asked before me--what does a criminal have to do to get impeached around here?

April 28th cometh...for all the fat lot o'good it will do, for even if impeached, this administration's lying, undermining snoots will still turn up regularly on my tv and computer screens and they will continue the dissolving of America.

Still, I'm more than ready for April 28th, are you?

School Shootings plus Iraq

So who didn't see this coming?

From LegitGov.org

Iraq link to campus killer Cho 19 Apr 2007 The sister of the gunman responsible for the deadliest shooting rampage in modern US history works as a contractor for a State Department office that oversees billions of dollars in American aid for Iraq. Sun-kyung is employed by the Iraq Reconstruction Management Office, according to US officials and a State Department staff directory that says she works from an annex near the department's headquarters in Washington.

Cho's sister works for McNeil Technologies: Administration official Seung-Hui Cho, the student who killed 32 people and then himself yesterday, left a long and "disturbing" note in his dorm room at Virginia Tech, say law enforcement sources... His older sister, Sun-Kyung, graduated from Princeton University in 2004. A source, who asked to be identified as a senior Administration official, said she works for McNeil Technologies, a firm contracted by the State Department to manage reconstruction efforts in Iraq.

[From the McNeil Technologies website: 'Since 1985, McNeil Technologies has been a premier provider of critical professional services and reliable business solutions to the US Federal Government. We help government agencies meet some of their most complex service needs...' [Oh, I'm sure you do!-LegitGov]

Overview of McNeil Technologies Intelligence Services: Our services and capabilities include: Intelligence Architecture Operations in support of the US Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC). Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) which supports the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and other government agencies. HUMINT (Human Intel) operations in support of DIA, or with federal counter Intel outsourcing effort...]#

Seems Cho's disillusionment may have run even deeper than just his school experiences.

VA Tech and the Moon

After grieving yesterday and Monday, yes, k.c., I have been looking at charts for Monday's violence with its Mars/Uranus = NN lining up, and Mars in Pisces (he was apparently on meds for depression--look out drug-makers) being squared by Venus in Gemini--and Venus conjunct asteroid Midas.

Venus in Gemini--two women--or the duplicitous woman? Money-mad Midas and Venus were in the 2nd house of Money when the violence began.

Mars/Uranus = NN: sudden events shared with others; execution of extraordinary and unusual enterprises; hyperexcitability.

Tr NN is conjunct Fixed Star, Achernar, risk of rapid endings...and this configuration isn't perfected yet.

The midpoint itself...Mars/Uranus = urge for freedom; suddenly available energy application; a test of nerves; dominant will; tremendous urge to action.

Just after 7:15 am on Monday, the midpoint of oppressive Pluto/Chiron was at MC. What concerns me now is that at 7:51 am that day, the Moon reached 12 Aries and beyond:

"13Ari": "A bomb, now safely concealed, fails to explode" which speaks of the infinite capacity of the world to absorb and nullify the destructive acts of man.

pos: a dramatic rejection of any accomplishment falling at all short of very deep or hallowed purpose;

neg: a waste of opportunity and a futile expenditure of self through vanity or petulence.

After hearing that the school had been receiving bomb threats before Monday, I don't like mentioning the Moon's degree esp considering that Cho's whereabouts between the two shootings are unknown and hopefully being retraced successfully now. Are they considering the possibility of bombs being tucked away?

Cho's actions were a "dramatic rejection" of the values of the school, the faculty, and the students and of the hallowed purpose which schools attempt to instill in their students.

But for some kids the hyposcrisy rings hollow rather than hallowed. How sad that no one listened to the warnings about this young man.

Gonzo's reprieve

Yes, it figured that Gonzales would have a Tuesday reprieve but what a sad and miserable reason at VA Tech, and my condolences go out to them all on campus and to their families and friends.

One tries not to think of false flag operations at times like this, of course, but will Thursday be any better for Al G's appearance on Capitol Hill?

Tuesday's closed-circuit Grand Trine between Jupiter, Saturn, and the Moon (which was not mentioned in my last post) will be "replaced" on Thursday by a
Grand Trine involving Jupiter, Saturn, and Mercury (communications; testifying, etc.)

Jup/Sat = Mercury: studying hard and asking the right questions (softballs?); desire to make changes; a fortunate separation.

Sigh...if George wants Gonzo to stay, he'll stay. Besides, Al must know where so many bodies are buried.

Apr 17: here come de judge

Tuesday, April 17 is more than just Tax Day, it's the day Gonzales is scheduled to speak to Congress.

His opening statement having been released Sunday, the players have plenty of time to rehearse their parts.

On Tuesday at 7:35:59 am edt (Cap Bldg) there is a New Moon 27Aries05.

You'll find the basics on the Sabian Symbol for "28 Aries" here by scrolling down to Robespierre's natal Moon in Aries--"I AM the people." The keyword for this degree is DISJUNCTION.

The Image for the bold, quick-thinking, crusading Sun Aries-Moon Aries combo is:

An invincible Hercules, propelled by primeval power, bursts into the dark castle, unties the fair maiden, and together they ride off into the sunset.

(I like the ride off into the sunset part.)

This jives with the Sun and Moon being benefically trined by Mr. Primeval Power himself, Pluto, now at 28Sag54 Rx...conj Fixed Star, Acumen, keywords: "enduring attacks which weaken."

The New Moon is perfected within 12th house of behind-the-door deals/meetings with Pluto trining New Moon from the 8th house of High Finances.

And illusive, deceptive Neptune is in 10th house so I would expect lots of spin of the spidery web variety (lost emails galore these days!)--and perhaps an element of self-sacrifice in the Career--esp since Fixed Star, Diadem is parallel (similar to a conjunction) the ASC at the moment of the New Moon.

There is a T-square formed and pointing to the ASC 19Tau29...from the ongoing Saturn-Neptune opposition, so we see:

Sat/Neptune = ASC: feeling confined; sense of being 'out of the group' (has Gonzo been jettisoned with Cheney's and Bush's "answer for yourself" buh-bye?); oppressive circumstances; limitation of freedom.

Of course, Saturn's realism mixed with Neptune's imagination and delusions give mixed results in the honesty department.

During the New Moon, Mercury 11Ari16, is unaspected--working on his own--and as we know, Gonzales has been rehearsing in a determined fashion for this performance.

Mercury (testify!) is conj tr Ceres, an asteroid which represents security issues in a mundane or national chart.

It's a contentious Mars hour...with Mars in deceived/deceiving Pisces ("9Pis": "A jockey spurs his horse." This is a Mars-opposite-Mars transit for Bush--the head-against-brickwall transit. Others don't cooperate as they should! Yet Bush never admits the adverse, and Gonzo will attempt to do same in his testimony.)

Quarrels (Mars) are indicated as well as a lack of self-control, diplaying unusual energy, upping the tempo, rash actions, ready-to-go, striving for power and control, and--although you don't need astrology charts to tell you this--

power games with important consequences.

Appointing judges at their will and whim--that's what they were ultimately up to, imho. And this naturally brings in the Evangelicals and Vaticaners with their priorities in the courts.

Perhaps "the judge" can fill us in on their so-named "murder boards" while he's at it--that'd make a nice side story to distract from White House involvement in pressuring US Attys...and interfering with justice.

on power's pillow's silk

That's a line from A kitten's Head Lays Heavy Now which is a new rhyme just posted at Lim's Limericks, and between various power outages today, I'm posting this Shout-Out here and expecting you to check it out if you are up and running.

We've got high winds here--not of March, but of April--and they're causing havoc in the land, m'peops.

Be safe,

Wolfie and the sensual Eclipse

Having followed the romantic saga of Paul Wolfowitz and his lady, Ms. Riza this week it was little of a surprise to snoop around the date of June 1, 2005, when Wolfie demanded his fair lady's exorbitant compensation just for walkin' in the joint bwo an email to his World Bank posse.

"I now direct you to agree to a proposal which includes the following terms and conditions." Woo, power as aphrodesiac--Wolfie drinks liberally from the cup, it would seem!

The Solar Eclipse series in which June 1 falls is 7 North, 19Ari07, which occurred April 8, 2005. (This is also the PE series of Hurricane Katrina btw.)

Bernadette Brady gives this series as being a very sensual family of eclipses with sudden sexual passions and....how can I best say this?....lust. There may be deep passions which have been dormant for years--hence the power of this series to catch the person off-guard with its intensity and suddenness.

Why, Wolfie, you dog, you! You're making me wish I had boocoodles of time to post on your natal chart (Dec 22, 1943, Ithaca, NY) but my typing time is limited this evening.

The initial eclipse in the 7N series was on Oct 3, 1103 (OS) and which has some interesting midpoint pictures:

Venus/Mars (the lovers) = Moon: emotional impulses;

Venus/Mars = Pluto: powerful sex drive; the conquest.

Well we knew Wolfie the Wolf was pretty hot stuff when we first saw Fahrenheit 911 --saw Midas himself preening his hair back with his own spit. Looked good, didn't it, Ladies? Mmm-m-m-m-m.....

Note: there's been a new limerick surreptitiously phoned in today from Mr.A.Cat so I'm headed now to Lim's Limericks to publish it up in the pan for Lim and his colleague who was formerly an agent in service to our nation.

The new limerick is entitled, A Kitten from Riza... if you're game.

Update on Lim's: Blogger.com seems to be having partial publishing issues this evening--the limerick is posted but is unviewable by link. Please try later, if you wish.

However, there's new artwork to be viewed at Cosmic Persona Designs so you have quite a bit to do actually...move along now...no more Wolfie for you tonight...perhaps tomorrow.)

Kurt Vonnegut 1922--2007

Novelist Kurt Vonnegut's fall two weeks ago in his Manhattan apartment resulted in brain injuries and he gave up the fight Wednesday, April 11.

In honor of a master I'm posting his natal chart the birth time of which is in question. But some transits aren't affected by birth time as long as the date is correct so I've marked Saturn outside the chart as The Old Man been visiting Vonnegut's natal Neptune of late. This is a difficult transit when you're 84 years old with its visions of The Grim Reaper and all.

Jupiter tends to be active at times of death and so we see Jupiter in first house along with Pluto. In a spree of blatant neglect, I did not write in the supposed planetary hour of his birth--a Jupiter hour, if born at 8:00 am CST (this looks like a rounded off time--once very commonly done.)

Custodians of Chaos is an excerpt from his memoir, Man Without A Country and is well worth a read if you haven't. It puts Bush and Cheney in their sorry places.

The Image for his natal Sun Sco/Moon Leo blend:

A Samaritan mirrors sunshine into the depth of a dark pit bringing hope to those who live there.
Puts me in mind of the slaughterhouse in Dresden and his use of his war experiences in writing Slaughterhouse Five.

This Sun/Moon blend is shared by poet Ezra Pound who said, "The difference between a gun and a tree...is a difference of tempo. The tree explodes every spring."

Your work, Mr. Vonnegut, is well done. RIP where guns can hurt no more.

I hear Rummy's at loose ends

Bush Seeks Overseer For Iraq, Afghanistan --3 Generals Spurn the Position of War 'Czar' 11 Apr 2007:

The White House wants to appoint a high-powered czar to oversee the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan with authority to issue directions to the Pentagon, the State Department and other agencies, but it has had trouble finding anyone able and willing to take the job, according to people close to the situation. At least three retired four-star generals approached by the White House in recent weeks have declined to be considered for the position, the sources said.

Apparently George is tired of moving soldiers around the board.

Actually they're looking for a way to tamp down some measure of the criticism he's now getting so the war won't be interfered with and the agenda may proceed like a greased monkey instead of the constipated one George has on his back.

2007 Jefferson Muzzle Award a shoo-in!

Yes, congrats go out to George Bush for being recipient of a 2007 Jefferson Muzzle Award...and so richly deserved!

Thomas Jefferson Center for the Protection of Free Expression has an Archive List which can take you back to the Muzzles of 1999. But this year, George and his main crew are scorching and breaking records over at the Muzzles.

Shooing in Bush now for a Muzzie is a lot easier than wielding the industrial shoe horn that shoveled him into the back door of the White House in 2000-2001, with tossed eggs aflyin' and seemingly ignored.

Were they appropriately rotten? One may hope.

With Easter 2007, I have fondly reflected upon those limo-eggs as Mrs. Bush forced little children to laboriously spoon Eastery eggs across the manicured White House lawn while pretending that the memorable ghosts of those anti-Bush eggs of years past were not fresh as a daisy inside her pretty mind.

The People: the buck stops here

"Americans cannot escape a certain responsibility for what is done in our name around the world. In a democracy, even one as corrupted as ours, ultimate authority rests with the people. We empower the government with our votes, finance it with our taxes, bolster it with our silent acquiescence. If we are passive in the face of America's official actions overseas, we in effect endorse them." Mark Hertzgaard

We've fallen down on our oversight duties the last several years, haven't we?

We've been coup'd because of our inattentions. We need to correct past mistakes with clear statements and by taking direct action. Shadows must be faced in order to fight the many dragons we face yet the inner dragon is the most voracious of all.

Take one version of the U.S. natal chart--Sibly (5:10 pm lmt), the Scorpio Rising chart, Cornwallis' Surrender to Washington, Jefferson's supposed chart, all for July 4, 1776 (with the exception of the Cornwallis' Surrender chart) and read each placement for its Illumination Point--the opposite degree of the natal position.
Perhaps it's a tiny peek at the inner dragon of the American ego (Sun.)

Ex: US natal Sun "14 Cancer" as it's usually considered in the Sabian Symbols...read "14 Capricorn" for the nation's Essence, True Purpose, and the Ego drive to be important--the Sun (using the "rounding up" method of determination.)

(These Symbols also apply to George Bush's natal Sun (July 6, 1946.)

My preference: to use the one that applies in a fundamental way yet remembering that all is process--the degree before and the degree after (in this case, "13 Can/Cap" --"15 Can/Cap" would be what has just passed "14Can/Cap" and what is upcoming--in an evolutionary sense--is the next degree.)

Here's a personal example from my own Secondary Progressed chart: in the mundane world, I was given the opportunity to move professional locations to a business named, ReVive--when my Sec MC (Career) progressed to "10 Leo": "Early morning dew"...Keyword: REJUVENATION.

Rather descriptive.

So here's the Symbol for "14Cap" from Dr.Marc Edmund Jones' The Sabian Symbols in Astrology:

"An ancient bas-relief carved in granite"...FOUNDATION:

pos: a gift for bringing all things in to a pattern of convenience;

neg/shadow side: meaningless limitation.

Or would you prefer "13Cap"?

"A fire worshiper"...MAGIC:

pos: extraordinary skill in enlisting every resource of the world for the exaltation of self and the consummation of its ambitions;

neg: consistent overestimation of personal capacity.

Somehow "13Cap" sounds more like that Bush fellow. But how about America?

Bush in Iraq: No Left Foot Left Behind

Iraqi Details 'Shocking' U.S. Missteps so I'm guessin' that Bush's boot-scootin' goose-step doesn't go over on every dance floor...?

Shocking and awful--can the boastful awesome forevermore.

And someone please stable McCain and give him a bracing rubdown before he embarrasses himself further.

It's been a holiday week/weekend with out-of-town guests to host and enjoy around SO'W and its environs. Hope your Easter and Passover have been perfect and still.

No SO'W posting until Monday...but here's a tidbit from Lim's Limericks entitled,Beware: Kitten in a Speedo which was posted earlier today--but only because of a certain Cat's insistence on purrfection.

Apologies to the Speedo Company.

C.S. Lewis quote

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their consciences."- C. S. Lewis (1898-1963), British Novelist

This Heads-Up from Information Clearing House

C.S.Lewis (Clive Staples) was known as Jack Lewis and was born in Belfast, Ireland, Nov 29, 1898.

On that day the Moon remained in Gemini, sign of the writer, and gives him a witty and versatile Fire-Air Sun Sag/Moon Gemini personality blend with this Image:

Robin Hood as a young boy plays truant from school to go to his archery lesson, but ends up teaching his card tricks to his master. (Sun Sign-Moon Sign, Charles and Suzy Harvey.)

This blend is shared natally by "New Age" philosopher, Benjamin Creme, Akbar the Great of Persia, Noel Coward, Petra Kelly, founder of the Green Party, Francisco Franco, and John Kerry.

Yep, John Kerry. Interesting company.

Pelosi in Damascus

Pelosi Dismisses Criticism of Damascus Trip and she happened to mention that the White House hasn't complained at all about the three Republicans who met with President Assad in Damascus Sunday--only about the Dem's trip which includes our first Muslim Congressman, Keith Ellison (D-MN.)

Blessed are the peacemakers, and the more the merrier no matter their stripe--assuming that that's why all of them are there.

Note: Mr.A.Cat phoned in a limerick early this morning concerning this very thing at Lim's Limericks but Please Do Not Read This Limerick if you tend to wear your political indoctrinations on your sleeve...it's not for you, Sparkie.

what makes Dick tick?

Some say it's a cyborg's heart, while some credit the Energizer Bunny who's been spotted in the vicinity of Cheney's favorite undisclosed location.

But this reluctant astrologer believes it's the dynamic squares in DC's natal chart for squares (90 degr) give us the oomph and determination to develop and to reach our goals and ambitions.

Note: a few years ago, I awoke from a lucid astrology-infused dream to hear a voice saying: squares form due to essential quests. Let's look at Cheney's natal squares, sesqui-squares, and one opposition between Moon and Neptune which affects relationships--the Escapist aspect is Moon opposite Neptune which works best when working alone.

First we see that the closest applying aspect to natal Sun--the most integral part of his essence and life's purpose--is a sesqui-square (or tri-octile, 135 degr) with illusive, nebulous Neptune. This aspect affecting n Sun may be involved in his long time heart (Leo/Sun) problems.

A sesqui-sq works as a minor affliction, a weak square. This aspect in DC's chart is waxing/applying and therefore indicates an awareness of objectives--an urge toward dynamic self-expression and promotion of ideas. His low-key style of self-expression is shown elsewhere.

This Sun-Neptune aspect shows a difficulty in accepting reality for Neptune gives big, quixotic dreams, and other-worldy ideals. It gives a certain "running from responsibility" quality to the personality as well which is seconded by his Moon-Neptune opposition.

One of the strongest features in his natal chart is the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in stubborn Taurus, sign of money and possessions. This conj makes several important squares to other natal planets:

Sun square Jupiter: there's actually a tendency toward lack of moderation in this square which tends to bite off more than it can chew and then must desperately attempt to cope with the consequences. There's a lack of planning but yet annoyance when others make suggestions, even when he asks for advice--which he seldom if ever does given the arrogance and pomposity of this square.

A Sun-Jupiter square is the Wheeler-Dealer aspect that enjoys manipulating others and their lives. A good fight is appreciated for there's a love of challenge and a talent for communication. Truth may be bent to achieve goals which leads to complications later on which are resentfully dealt with.

Physical problems are caused bwo self-indulgence, as his potbelly shows. This turns up in the food, drink, and lack-of-rest areas of life, and acting impulsively is discouraged esp during periods of relaxation--such as sports activities--because this aspect can lead to accidents as Harry Whittington knows too well.

Sun square Saturn indicates an early sense of inferiority probably caused from his father who tended to block his efforts to 'shine.' But with adulthood comes the recognition of the necessity to plan the rise to prominence one step at a time. (We may all agree Dick has aced this.)

The early lack of confidence becomes self-assurance yet there remains a desire for seclusion and for presenting oneself in a self-effacing way. Experience has sharpened his judgment, yet the above-mentioned Sun-Neptune aspect interferes with reality-based judgement (as we've seen from Mr. Bubble's war...we'll be "greeted as liberators"!!)

Jupiter conj Saturn:

There is enormous success potential in this conjunction if much effort is applied along with an eagerness to explore new means of making a massive assault which asserts him in the world. This conj gives fortitude and staying power for mobilizing all resources for this task (9/11? Read this as the Great Jup-Saturn Conj of May 28, 2000 also.)

There is a tendency to muse philosophically upon destiny which one assumes includes America's "Manifest Destiny" of which he seems so fond. His striving for significance needs the ability this conj brings in order to manifest his clearly pictured mental vision (and personally I'm not enamored of his vision as the world has experienced it so far because it s*cks.)

Jupiter squares Pluto:

Here's the rebel who challenges authority in an effort to find easier ways of reaching his goals and which expects large returns for little or no investment...another indication of the Wheeler Dealer (as Wall St. knows. Does this also apply to those risking their lives in the Middle East for Cheney's oil and defense contractor returns?)

Only large-scale enterprises will do for a Jup-Pluto square and the more people affected, the better he likes it. Sunstantial financial returns are expected yet risky schemes can run him into legal difficulties. Political maneuvering, money-lending, and professional gambling are some favorite activities of this square.

Unscrupulous exploitation of others is considered a rewarding use of his faculties yet he is prone to becoming victimized himself. This square makes it difficult to learn from mistakes--he has to get this from other factors, if he will.

Romantically, he prefers people who yield to momentary impulses and ignore proprieties--and romance may flower from business contacts.

Saturn square Pluto (this one's orb is slightly wide, but look at who we're talking about here):

Early in life, this aspect gives a tendency toward being a "sore loser" who wouldn't play if he thought he couldn't win. Later on he associated with people younger or weaker than himself so that he was guaranteed supremacy over them.

There is a lack of generosity with the Sat-Pluto square--an inability to admit that others may be more qualified and this emotional insecurity (supported by the Sun-Saturn square) makes his value judgments unrealistic.

DC is inclined to defensively avoid social responsibilities because he sees them as obstacles rather than as opportunities and becomes bitter if forced to submit.

This aspect gives resentment and impatience concerning the time-consuming efforts required to reach the top by the usual methods. His deep envy of the powerful and wealthy make his climb over others to the social status and power of Washington he so craved a major objective in his life. He wanted it all so much he could taste it.

Chart-ruler Mercury square Uranus: this is the "know-it-all" aspect which can't abide by the rules. In fact, rules are taken lightly unless they apply to others for his ingenious, eccentric thinking makes him, in his estimation, above-the-herd.

Arrogance is masked (often unsuccessfully) with humility to make acceptance more likely. This square is useful in politics where egos thrive and often clash. It gives a tendency to project the self foolishly and prematurely which runs the risk of being discredited--and he certainly excels at discrediting others.

Lack of compromise causes personal relationships to end rather quickly and even when obstinacy is unrealistic, he refuses to give in (on Meet the Press he never has to.) Mrs. C must've done a great deal of giving in over the years!

Moon square Mars: touchy feelings! emotional outbursts! DC considers others' differing opinions as challenges to his sense of competence and his intelligence. His Royal Arrogance becomes abusive when confronted-- there's a lack of control with this aspect.

Forceful demands are made of others but he is not equally prepared to fulfill what is expected of him...a double standard which irks those who work closely with him.
His constitution suffers due to the distress caused by the Moon-Mars square esp in the tum-tum department.

Mars is sesqui-square Pluto, another significator of possible heart problems esp since "minor" aspects often show nagging qualities which take their toll on health.

Mars sesqui-square Pluto: again this aspect is applying/waxing so there's the extreme awareness and promotion of ideas. There's a subtle yet forceful quality to Dick's nature for he's a bellicose kind of guy.

Foolish recklessness and a tendency to assert the self with impunity is evident, and there's a proneness to becoming abusive when challenged--physical violence as retaliation is a possibility. Issuing ultimatums when running into resistance is to be avoided (oops!)

Two midpoints sit upon angles in Cheney's natal chart which may be of interest to you and which both involve powerful, manipulative Pluto:

Pluto/NN = ASC: the need to gain influence upon the public;

Moon/Pluto = MC: ego-consciousness prevails; remaining alone and never acting in accord with others.

Taken altogether, Mr. Cheney sounds like a discordant fellow wearing a humble mask when it suits his objectives. His quixotic notions and visions are being reached and yet he isn't satisfied...his ego wants more more more! He's a maverick who considers himself to be above the law and will take any means necessary to fulfill his vision---a true Machiavellian, Straussian, Hegelian character...a real go-getter and devil take the hindmost--which may be all that's left when Dick gets his.

It's no wonder he's noted for his ugly snarl.

Disclosure: Two astrology books may have been harmed in the typing of this post:
The Astrology of Relationship by Michael R. Meyer, and Robert Pelletier's Planets in Aspect. My apologies to both authors but I can't promise it won't happen again. jc

And here's a Cheney News Nugget:

The BYU campus is protesting Cheney's upcoming speech due to the church's and school's high standards for personal honesty and integrity. An online petition has been created asking Brigham Young University to rescind its invitation to the vp citing his promotion of faulty intell that sent the country into Iraq, and the connection between Cheney and the convicted Scooter Libby.

Dick's not going to like this.

Katrina fraud balloons

Down the drain, down the rabbithole, however you want to characterize it, fraud is common after natural disasters.

But somehow fraud after Katrina seems worse and more obscene than any before as the apparent hog trough's depth is being revealed. The GAO has referred over 22,000 cases to the Katrina task force...and all under George Bush's "watch."

Katrina Fraud Stretches Far Beyond Gulf--is it coming your way?
