Eclipse Cycles Time Similar Historical Events

As readers of SO'W know, a Solar Eclipse in the 6 South Saros Series - the same family as the Nazis Rise to Power Eclipse of August 1932 - has already repeated and its theme of 'being forceful, taking power' brought along a partial electoral victory at the 2022 Midterms allowing maga Republicans to commandeer the US House of Representatives. We've seen what an amateurish 3-ring circus that has been as they pretend to govern while undermining the rule of law, yapping at the heels of President Joe Biden, and attempting to follow orders from their wealthy overlords. And sporting AR-15 pins on their lapels as silent threats.

My point is, We the People are in the thick of a struggle against barbaric Nazis with racism and 'Aryanism' the arrows in their hate-filled quivers as before. But unlike in WWII, the battlefields are different and the criminals are more sophisticated and organized, so that focus, not apathy, must be maintained if we are to vanquish the enslaving enemy once again. For as you know, freedom, once lost, is difficult to regain.

My suspicion is that there are enemies of America who use cosmic factors as timing agents: an obvious example is 1930s Pluto in Cancer (the magician) now opposed by Pluto in Capricorn (the dictator) for a while longer, as a 'Full Moon' culmination opportunity to fulfill little Adolf's perverted dream of global domination when democracy could be banished from the Earth, and creepy Pluto, as a symbol of death and transformation, could bring the primal violence, extremism, and exploitation needed to enforce tyrannical government against the will of the people. That our nation has now experienced her first-ever Pluto Return (27Cap33) in 2022 must have seemed like a perfect excuse for transformative activities.

Then looking ahead, we have another watershed moment in time: the third of three Great American Eclipses to 'look forward to' with its 8 North themes of visions and good ideas although as a Mars-ruled Aries Eclipse manifesting in 2024, an election year, I must wonder what disruptions, revelations, and wild cards the Cosmos has in mind for our democratic Republic.

Reaching Back for a Better America

As my fellow Americans and I face Independence Day 2022 with less constitutionally granted independence and freedom than before due to an overreaching Supreme Court, a tribute to a certain American Republican president might actually be appropriate for the July 4th holiday:

On January 20, 1953, Dwight D. Eisenhower was sworn in as our 34th president. Instead of one Bible for his Oath of Office, two Bibles were used: George Washington's Masonic Bible from 1789, some say turned to II Chronicles 7:14 (disputed), and President Eisenhower's own "West Point Bible" turned to Psalms 33:12. Eisenhower then gave his own Prayer and delivered his Inaugural Address. At his 1953 Inauguration, 'Ike' sounds like an actual American, and a listen of his 1953 address is recommended, if you can spare a few minutes.

Then recently, progressive broadcaster-author Thom Hartmann commented that in his opinion, Dwight Eisenhower was the last Republican president who believed in democracy. In fact, Eisenhower's 1953 Inaugural Address is a bracing tonic for those of us determined to fight against the authoritarian wave of lies, deceit, cruelty, and strong-armed paternalism now sweeping across America (Vote Blue in 2022 - and 2024!) and gaining hoofholds around the globe. Among others, Eisenhower's mentions of concepts such as "moral stamina" and "love of liberty" remind us of the America that, struggling toward a perfect union, we want to keep. Yet if our country must regress, let it be to these and other higher concepts and principles, such as President Lincoln's "better angels of our nature" - while leaving behind the racism and hatred of by-gone eras for those are what degrade and doom our nation to the ashbin of History. And anyone who promotes such negativity are enemy saboteurs of America, many disguised as "patriots." Yet as you know, dear reader, using religion to gain and wield political power is precisely what America's Founders feared!

So for the astro-curious, here's a view of the natal horoscope of Dwight David Eisenhower, born October 14, 1890. His chart shows Sun, Moon, Mercury, and Uranus in Libra, warrior Mars @13Cap39 (directly opposing US Sun of July 4, 1776), Jupiter @2AQ44, Saturn @12Vir39, Virgo rising, Gemini at Midheaven, and of course, the Neptune-Pluto Conjunction in early degrees of Gemini - at Midheaven with his 10th house North Node @17Gemini. Yes, the Neptune-Pluto duo can be bad news in the criminality and occult realms but for evolved individuals receptive to such influences, their combined energies can provide self-knowledge and a refined spiritual understanding (A. Oken). Then notably, in the realms of Politics, Ike's Libran Uranus can express and behave as a troublemaker, and/or as one whose reforms are in the interests of the public. A WWII General, perhaps his Uranian behavior was a case of alternating expressions!

Now at the risk of seeming to be sympatico with the current evangelical, Family-run, Opus Dei, Dominionist, theocratic bizarros sticking their camel's nose under the tent of liberty, privacy and other rights (with whom I am non-sympatico) while they set about stirring a noxious brew of church and state, let's consider the Scriptural messages that President Eisenhower spotlighted that day in 1953 as he began his presidency and prayed for America:

II Chronicles 7:14, our Creator's promise to heal the land of His people who turn from wickedness and seek Him. And here I'll quote Psalms 33:12 (KJV): "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom He hath chosen for His own."

Well, to me this means that genuine spiritual renewal is needed across our nation but I must suppose that the current batch of holier-than-thous think they're the people referred to here. Yet through willful blindness, or their lack of genuine spirtual understanding, they leave out empathy for humanity, and show cruelty which negates any claim to such a worthy status that they might have had. Why, they act, legislate, and pronounce from on high as if they've never read the New Testament at all! And yes, we're all on paths to greater understanding (ye olde "God's not through with me yet") but the paths that theocrats trod seem darker than one would hope for leaders of our country - and We The People are expected to follow! Instead, their riding roughshod over the majority's wishes feels more of a return to Benito's Fascism or Adolf's Nazism, and those would be very dark paths indeed.

So hopefully we can agree that POTUS #34 is a major contrast to man-baby POTUS #45. And to me, the contrast represents a sad symbol of how America and the White House have come down in the world. How much President Biden can elevate the country and the White House remains to be seen. But undermining his efforts at improvment is not in our country's, or in democracy's, best interests.

April 29, 2021: Now that President Joe Biden has delivered his pseudo-SOTU address last night to a pared-down Joint Session of Congress on the eve of his 100th day in office, it's time to face the portents within the horoscope of the 2022 Midterm Elections of November 8, 2022 which is the day of a Lunar Eclipse @16Taurus00. Now usually for elections, I publish horoscopes of the opening of voting and/or the closing of it but since a Lunar Eclipse is a huge 'cosmic blink' of disruption and revelation, I'm using the eclipse's moment of perfection at 6:01:57 am est on Election Day as the Midterms 2022 Horoscope to work from concerning these very significant elections that can possibly result in a change of control in the US Congress, House and/or Senate. But as you know, flipping Congress would be a disaster for Americans who appreciate Mr. Biden's attempts and policies meant to improve social conditions in our country while sending a huge bill to wealthy corporate tax evaders and authoritarian, anti-democratic enablers - including violent hotheads who like to march with Tiki Torches which are now viewed as racist. For good reason.

And is it bizarre that for ages 'eternal flames' have been symbolic of so-called 'illumi*ati' involvement in certain events? (Readers: NO illumi*ati promos or ads will ever be published on SO'W so don't waste your time.)

Well, for the curious, here's some info concerning the gravesite eternal flames of JFK, Princess Diana, the Parisienne tunnel where she and Dodi crashed, the World Trade Center, etc. Tragically, the concept of ritual sacrifice comes to mind but do ignore the information if you wish!

DC Horoscope: 'Midterms' Lunar Eclipse November 8, 2022 @16Tau00:53

The Syzygy Moon (prior lunation) of this Eclipse IS the Solar Eclipse @2Sco00 in the manic 6 South Saros Series. As you know, New Moons prior to elections are considered predictive so my fondest wish is that the 'taking power' theme of 6 South, which worked so well for Nazis in 1932 (and more kindly in the US for FDR), will be taken very seriously by those who have the power to act against the sore loser insurrectionists who again plan a violent take-over of the US government - and this time a stronger effort will be mounted than on January 6, 2021 (which was a practice session):

Ascendant 6Sco57 makes Mars Rx in Gemini the chart-ruler with a square from Neptune in Pisces (2A12) continuing the gaseous planet's deceptive, undermining, ongoing opposition to US natal Neptune @22Virgo (timing a generational clash of ideals), plus, this includes Neptune's square to US Mars which denotes the undermining of physical efforts, delayed successes, goals that must be realistic and as practical as possible (yet can be inspirational), potentials for illness and infection, dangerous water travel, and a caution to keep plugging away despite it all. Of course, we can expect that from time to time mitigating planetary factors will help the abundance of Neptunian conditions which, I confess, I identify primarily with the 'Republican Party' of 1854 and its Neptune in Pisces.

And so America's Mars-Neptune Square of 1776 with its misguided or misdirected energies and motivations (plus, with the square's 'fog of war' implications) pines for for the also-ran inspiration which dreamy Neptune can supply to any planet it touches with its glittering magic wand.

Now note that the Saturnian South Node rises along with voting planet Mercury (leading a ruthless Locomotive shape of planets which possibly hints at election cheating or fraud) and that the 1st house Sun conjuncts fixed star Zuben Elgenubi: positive social reform, while Venus conjuncts Zuben Elschemali: negative social reform, a mixed portent. Yet to me this looks as if President Biden, born with Sun Scorpio-Moon Taurus himself, is represented by the rising Scorpio energies in this chart while the anarchists and insurrectionsist voters and anti-American politicians can be seen via the eclipsed Moon conjunct radical reactionary Uranus in the intolerant, possessive sign of Taurus. Shown is a fateful struggle between democracy and Neo-Nazism, folks, in part through the exciteable Moon-Uranus conjunction's revealing Sabian Symbol ("17Taurus"): "A Battle Between the Swords and the Torches." "Keyword is RESOLUTION" (Jones). This symbol speaks of "enlightenment, high organizational skill, and an ability to bring the magic of understanding to any specific difficulty." Those are the positive potentials of the symbol for which I look to those represented by democratic, nurturing Ceres (below). The negative expression = "a loss of self-competence through the conflicting compulsions of necessity and desire." This could be related to the urgent needs of the American people vs a certain group's deep desire for power and control embedded within the manic energies of the 6 South Solar Eclipse @2Sco00 which manifests on October 25 2022 with themes of 'huge efforts in group activities', 'sudden events', great strength or force in relationships', and 'being forceful and taking power' (Brady's Predictive Astrology #ad). Taking power, not through elections - through seizing power. Can forewarned be forearmed?

Now if you enlarge the image you'll see that the Lunar Eclipse Horoscope of November 8, 2022 reveals factors of 'Democracy vs Neo-Nazism' via Ceres @16Vir27 (sextile Sun, trine Moon - see Ceres, below), and the factoid that the elections fall within the influence of the prior Scorpio Solar Eclipse (losted as 'PE' and highlighted in orange, in 12th house of Politics, Large Institutions such as Congress, Back Room Deals, Self-Undoing, and/or Karma) falls within the 6 South Saros Series which in 2022 is a repeat of the 'Nazi Rise to Power' Eclipse of August 31, 1932 @8Vir09.

However, here's a ray of hope...

Ceres as Thales Point: A Saving Grace!

As astrologer Alice Portman explains, the Thales Point in an event chart identifies one who gets along well with both sides (here, political rivals: Sun opposite Moon) and can negotiate a fair arrangement. Basically, Ceres (asteroid of democracy) acting as Thales Point for this Lunar Eclipse (and therefore, for the 2022 Midterm Elections and the rivals therein) indicates a skilled negotiator or negotiators (with a democratic mindset, it seems) who can solve thorny issues, then communicate and explain them in ways that resolve, or at least, improve, difficult circumstances.

Astrology Weighs In: Aggravating the Original Wound

Tiresomely, the GOP and its wealthy enablers continue to use the fatal flaw (wound) of racism against the American people as a wedge issue to divide, conquer, and sway sentiments and votes in the direction of Republicans, so it may be interesting to have a look at the Solar Eclipse which heralded Nixon's Southern Strategy of August 5, 1968. The eclipse fell into the 6 North Saros Series and manifested on March 28, 1968 @8Aries19.

Listed below the horoscope image are the 6N eclipse themes that were operative at the time, plus, we know that when a solar eclipse occurs in Mars-ruled Aries we can expect a militant flavoring to events along with a competitive spirit that boldly confronts circumstances through leadership that sees problems as challenges; for karmic progress to result, negative Arian traits of belligerance, arrogance, and foolhardiness must be avoided - but as we know, it wasn't and has not been through the years. And since 1968, the Southern Strategy has made the use of huge amounts of propaganda and deceit possible and effective along with the GOP's regular employment of Goebbels' technique of The Big Lie. Democracy For Who? Do The Poor Have A Say? - Thom Hartmann (plus Ceres!)

In Mundane Astrology I tend to use asteroid Ceres as a marker for democracy, aka, Democracy. However, these days, America's fabled streak of Plutocracy has grown wider than ever and we find that on July 4, 1776 our Ceres Rx @8Pisces41 conjoined the 1776 natal Pluto-Chiron midpoint with the midpoint's plutocracy, exploitation, primal violence, and racism implications now coming to fruition across the land. And where is Ceres in transit as I type? At 11Pis38 which suggests that in 2020, America is actually in the midst of a three-fer Ceres Return due to the asteroid's retrogradation.

Exact dates of America's current Ceres Return/s are: May 28 (passed obviously); August 14; and December 20, 2020, the last a significant date for other reasons. Hopefully by December, solutions may be found, presented, or even implemented to address at least some of our nation's thorny issues within the realms of Ceres.

This may be possible since a Ceres Return spotlights our national Ceres concerns (in compassionate Pisces!) such as nurturing, home and family, parenting, food supplies (food chains), agricultural concerns and practices, protective instincts, and democracy with a cosmic laser beam to be dealt with in 2020 and, hopefully, to result in improvements for the population of our country which, whether Republicans and other selfish Ayn-Randers like it or not, includes the poor, elderly, ill, and weak among us. Even our Voting Rights are involved since office holders determine how We The People are treated or mistreated, how funds are allocated for the care of our people in need - and to 'promote the general welfare'. And yet as we see since 1776, the nation was set up from the start with the plutocrats in charge.

Has America's Policing 'Style' Run Its Course?

Astrological Mars in the US: Masculine Planet of Police and Military Forces

June 9, 2020: Readers of Stars Over Washington may recall mentions of America's natal Mars (22Gemini) turned retrograde (Rx) by progression since 2006, the exact date dependent upon which founding horoscope one uses for America. Since yours truly tends toward our July 4, 1776 charts (whatever hour) this gives US Mars Rx @18Libra (conjunct Trump's natal 2nd house Jupiter stationary with US natal Mars conjunct his 10th house Sun-NN-Uranus trio in Gemini; plus, his Mars rising @26Leo opposes US natal Moon--these are some of the cosmic conditions that caused me to warn against him in 2015/2016). And as you know, his Mars-infused aggression and oppression of We The People has only gotten worse, as predicted.

Simultaneously, the inward turning of testosterone--driven energies and motivations upon the populace (symbolically via SP Mars Rx) is seen through current police brutality against our citizens, and has been seen in our returning war veterans with broken bodies, hearts, and minds. America's Mars is weakened: Gemini Mars is ready for action while actions of a Libran Mars depend upon feelings and emotions often with a focus on what's fair and equal). How long will our Mars be Rx by progression? Approximately until year 2086 (2006 + 80).

And yet there is good news for American society!

For a re-invention of US police forces resonates positively with our SP Mars Rx. But let this particular Southerner say this: the disbanding and/or de-funding of US police departments in whole or in part would create just the anarchy the Utopian saboteurs and zealots have always wanted and are now working toward. So let's not hand it to them! Better to makes changes that directly address issues and solve them rather than scattering energies, missing the mark, and worsening negative conditions. A better change is to jettison the brutal officers who have been excused and sheltered by fellow officers and higher-ups for too long. They can usually be recognized by their slave patrol attitudes and cruel actions.

And for even more info I recommend an overview of modern-day American police practices by certain officers with a 'rounding up runways slaves' mentality via a Bloomberg News op-ed by law Professor Stephen L. Carter, published October 29, 2015 asserting that, The debate on racism and law enforcement follows a clear line back to the antebellum South. Surely everyone in the whole wide world is aware of this! But Professor Carter's op-ed clearly lays out the history of the line, slave patrols and all. And naturally, some fault may be laid at the doorstep of the first slave trade of Angolans kidnapped and transported to Jamestown Colony in 1619 but that lies beyond the scope of this post.

Broken Hearts Across America and a hood-free KKK

Of Racist Manifestos, US Mars Rx, and a Horoscope for the Ku Klux Klan

Around the time of the *end of the Civil War, the Ku Klux Klan or, 'KKK', was founded as a secret society on December 24, 1865 in Pulaski, Tennessee by a group of die-hard Confederate war veterans. Soon becoming a paramilitary force, Klan members were aggrieved over progressive Reconstruction Era policies which elevated the rights of African Americans in the South. In spite of (or because of) the fact that the South lost the war, and with the Klan's platform based on a philosophy of white racial superiority, night time raids of terror, intimidation, and violence were tactics intended to roll back Reconstruction efforts meant to elevate the rights of African Americans and in hopes of influencing upcoming political elections (an objective already being employed prior to Election 2020--there is method in Trump's bigoted, hate-filled rhetoric).

As an extension of previous 'slave patrols', the Klan used similar methods but perpetrated their vigilante deeds outside the law. And tragically in our day, it's debatable whether certain police brotherhoods in the US are secretly infused with Klan members and/or with officers who are sympathetic to the racist cause. From the trigger-happiness of many officers killing non-whites, it's become difficult to distinguish one from the other. Police departments certainly tend to 'protect their own', don't they? And at its base, we may in part wish to pin much of our current troubles on US Mars Rx by progression since 2006--and note that its degree (17Lib37) conjoins the stationary Jupiter of Donald Trump (17:27) and the North Node in the Klan horoscope, below. Plus, US SP Mars Rx opposes US SP Chiron @17Ari42 in SP 8th house of Death and Corporatism, a duo of martial proportions yet our Mars-Chiron 'sacred warrior' archetype is wounded or deceased, and many have returned (Rx) home from war never to be the same again, and with Mars energies turned inward (Rx) upon the populace.

In case you're curious, here's a brief video concerning Nathan Bedford Forrest (b. July 13, 1821 Chapel Hill, TN; d. 1877 Memphis) reputed to have been the first 'grand wizard' of the KKK, a charge he neglected to own up to. Remarks about the man by legendary Southern historian Shelby Foote are included in the 3min-59sec video.

Now first I shall say that as a child of the South (a native Georgian bwo NC, Virginia, and points North) it was a rare and frightening sight to drive by someone's house at night and witness a cross burning in the yard. The Cross!! A sacred symbol in my Baptist family and the burning of it has always hit me as totally wrong. I did not and do not agree with the message cross-burners intended to spread at that time by such an ugly act but I know that I think even less of them now than ever before--if that's even possible. For their use of primal violence against their fellow man puts them at the very bottom of the evolutionary ladder in my book. And they have people like Trump, Bannon, Miller, Pike, and Hitler to keep them company. But then again, I am not of the ends justify the means persuasion nor am I a member of the success-at-any-cost club.

So as you notice in the KKK horoscope, below, Mercury Rx is @29Sag16 with '30Sag' having the "The Pope Blessing the Faithful" Sabian Symbol. Therefore, a peek at who was the Pope in Rome in 1865 seems related somehow to the founding of the Klan and that was Pius XI, secret friend of Mussolini and the man who instituted the doctrine of "papal infallibility." Anti-Enlightenment principles, anti-modernity, Pius IX was no friend of the Jews in Italy, the Austrians, or of free speech and other Western principles. We might say he was something of a bigot or racist although I've never heard him described in those words. Anyway, Pius XI was Pope (1848--1878) when the Klan was formed (1865) and the organization's Mercury, planet of meetings, discussions, and messages, suggests a link with The Pope Who Would Be King, a book by David I. Kertzer who also authored the award-winning The Pope and Mussolini.

Astrology Allows a Peek Under the Archetypal Hood of the KKK

All that said, let's take a brief look at the Klan's 12:00 pm chart set for December 24, 1865 Pulaski, Tennessee (although setting the chart for one minute before midnight seems appropriate since shadows, secrets, and disguises with eye-holes are the Klan's 'thing' although they're peeking out into the light of day since 2017 thinking they've become mainstream under sympatico Trump, their friend in the White House); note the planet of primal violence, sneaky Pluto Rx in Taurus, a placement of intolerance and materialism:

Now as a speculative 'noon' chart there's not much to say about houses and cusps and of course the fast-floating Moon could be a few degrees before or after her position here (22Pis58) but curiously, the 22Pisces degree spotlights three feminine asteroids and their goddess archetypes: Astraea (justice), Juno (nation-states; politics; the wife), and Diana (the huntress). In the center of the chart I've penned: white women on a pedestal? Now Luna doesn't quite leave Pisces by midnight so it's a Pisces Moon for the Klan which emphasizes the 6/12 victim-savior axis and the Klan's martyr mentality that is contained within the group's Sun-Neptune square. This square also suggests wearing hoods (Neptune) to protect and shield their true identities (Sun).

Also penned on the chart are links to a few of Trump's natal planets (highlighted in pink; ex: Klan Mars @20Sag conjunct his problematic SN-Moon conjunction), plus, the Klan's Prenatal Solar Eclipse ('PE') @26Lib18 (12 North theme: sudden opportunities to accept greater responsibilities--Brady), rebellious Uranus Rx in Cancer, sign of 'tribalism and nationalism', the Klan's erratic, willful Sun-Uranus opposition (lower left), its uncompromising, know-it-all Mercury-Uranus opposition (lower right), and the most difficult of all--the cruel, dictatorial Saturn-Pluto opposition (upper right). Even so, my objective is attained for at least a noon version of the KKK Horoscope is now available for viewing on SO'W for anyone who wishes to keep an eye on it for transits and progressions but hadn't yet calculated the horoscope for themselves.

Of course both positive and negative transits ('tr's; 'n' = natal) and their potential influences will arrive over time for any person or entity but here I'll list three that seem to apply to current or upcoming events or which may affect society and/or the Klan on various levels. All perfect three times each but note that their dates could be off a bit since we're using only a noon natal chart:

1. Tr Uranus opposite n Saturn (@9Sco39 and leader of a ruthless Locomotive shape of planets) = tension, instability, disruption--exact on or about June 25, 2020, October 6, 2020, April 12, 2021.

2. Tr Saturn square n Pluto Rx (@12Tau26) = intense conditions, manipulation only hampers, power and control issues, accountability for past abuses--exact on or about April 16, 2021, June 29 2021, January 5, 2022.

3. Tr Uranus conjunct n Pluto Rx = upheaval, sudden changes and challenges, bumps in the road as the past catches up...a volatile, rebellious combination of energies--on or about June 1, 2021, November 13, 2021, March 22, 2022.

Well, there it is and yes, these indications could affect our nation adversely via white supremacists particularly since there are racists hunkered down in the White House as I type. But as the mysterious 'they' are fond of saying, forewarned is forearmed.

Can Trump Go Too Far or Will Racism Get Him Reelected - Thom Hartmann

My answers: yes he can and has and I hope and pray not.

As you know, Pluto now trods through Saturn-ruled Capricorn (sign of government, law, business), a placement with the disturbing potential of "the dictator" (Ebertin). Power planet Pluto is associated with racism and primal violence along with other -isms (exs: Communism, Capitalism, Socialism, birtherism, nativism, patriotism, nationalism--all exploitative in their various ways). Actually, I tend toward more specificity for evils such as racism by considering the duo of Pluto-Chiron and note that the rise of white 'supremacy' and other racist issues have been purposefully ramped up by social meddlers before and since the dawn of this 'New Millennium' and are 'inspired' in part by the December 30, 1999 Conjunction of Pluto and Chiron @11Sag22 conjunct what many astrologers consider to be America's natal Ascendant (12Sag). So Pluto-Chiron-R-Us in some measure--apparently about 30% or more of the US population in 2019. Why they prefer such darkness I do not know but I know that things do not have to be that way, so says the majority!

Now the Pluto-Chiron cycle is approximately 60 years in length and relates to the Collective Unconscious and the "manifestation of a mass need seeking an outlet at a particular time in history." (R. Nolle). During their cycle, at the squares and oppositions, "fierce conflicts" and "tension" are experienced so today with Pluto @21Cap Rx and Chiron @5Aries Rx we find their first square upcoming at some future point in time.

Trickle Down Racism: The Not So New Platform of The Republican Party

The fifth and final exact return of transit Neptune to the party's 1854 position of Neptune (14Pis01) occurs on December 29, 2018 and floats America into 2019 with fascism as one of Mr. Trump's 'secret' -isms and an anti-democratic authoritarian agenda.

NRA Founded under Mars-Saturn-Pluto Vibes

Way back in 2012 when I published a few astro-notes concerning the NRA and the horoscope of its chartering (November 17, 1871 "noon," probably at Albany, NY), I mentioned the fact that Pluto (the assassin, saboteur, 'god' of Hades, manipulator, wealth-hoarder, spy, foreign agent, The Pope, the loner in the "ivory tower") was activating by transit a certain Mars-Saturn midpoint. Today I remind myself that Donald Trump was born with that exact midpoint picture in his natal chart and psyche: Mars-Saturn = Pluto: brutality; rage or fury of destruction; intervening of a higher power; bodily injury or harm (murder, death of many people) (Ebertin). Of course, in 2012, the safety of President Obama was on many minds for obvious reasons which don't need to be detailed here since racism in America continues to be used in Politics as a go-to wedge issue.

Of course, other astrologers have analyzed the NRA astrology chart as a quick duck duck go search will show such as an interesting discussion in a Skyscript forum which emphasizes the organization's compulsive, forceful, taking-power Mars-Pluto signature.

Another enlightening perspective was posted by astrologer Paul Saunders in 2014, an insightful analysis of the NRA's natal or founding chart focusing first on the organization's fanatic Mars-Saturn conjunction in Capricorn, sign of government, law, and business. And the thing is, a footnoted quote by Reinhold Ebertin in his The Combination of Stellar Influences may be instructive concerning the Mars-Saturn blend of energies which colors the NRA with its cosmic brush:

"One is inclined at times to consider Mars-Saturn as the 'death axis.' This combination is found in many cases at the time of death, but one should not make the mistake of taking it for granted that death will result. During the course of life this 'death axis' is very often stimulated by transits and directions, but life continues."

And so the 'life' of the death-cultish National Rifle Association continues as it turns 147 years old on November 17, 2018 with its Mars-Saturn fervor unabated although it remains to be seen whether Russian mob ties and funding scandals will take a significant toll on its reputation or its coffers. This particular Southerner (yes, with CSA ancestors) would think and hope that the Civil War could be laid to rest by now as the horrific ritual sacrifice and divide-and-conquer tragedy (manipulated by foreign bankers) it actually was.

The Mars-Pluto Opposition of Judge Roy Moore

If you've ever dealt with a person born during a Mars-Pluto opposition phase you probably felt the extremity of this difficult aspect in that person's psyche. The man in the news at the moment for alleged sexual misconduct is Alabama's Roy Moore who may become a Capitol Hill senator thanks to an empty seat left when Mr. Trump tapped Jeff Sessions as Attorney General of the United States.

Now we've already discussed the 'noon' natal chart of Roy Moore with Mars and Pluto across the Leo-AQ self-will axis but since his alleged unfit condition for the US Senate is much in the news along with the past aggressive sexual encounters reported by several women who were then in their teens, let's consider more closely what it means to be born with testosterone-driven Mars opposing powerful sex fiend Pluto, the abductor. As always, the potentials for this aspect in a natal chart are not written in stone and may be transcended by the mature individual if he or she so desires (a Mars word!) Yet this Scorpionic opposition may be one of the most difficult to control. (Alan Oken calls it a 'win at any cost' aspect that tends to use more force than is necessary and is often brusque or irritable when dealing with others.)

First, the Mars-Pluto pair when energies are combined indicates potentials for brutality, aggression, and 'superhuman power' along with the negative connotation of 'violent assaults, injuries' (Ebertin). Now such strength could have remained within Moore's chosen career field expressing much control and power within law enforcement and/or military service, but the Mars-Pluto duo on a personal level is problematic unless its primal energies are successfully channeled into positive pursuits. Yet the possibility of sexual deviancy and/or addiction, or even a rapist mentality, cannot be ruled out (Pelletier).

Mars opposing Pluto denotes one with a defiant attitude toward the results of his own aggression. Others don't feel as strongly and he may actually be surprised by the reactions of others to his aggression. This week we see Mr. Moore's defiance reported in the news and in fact, his personal lawyer, Trenton Garmon (see TYT video, below) is now attempting to defend Moore on CNN with Don Lemon and in other interviews. So far not so good.

With Mars-Pluto, an intense, strong sexual nature is apparent and can cause rifts in personal relationships; personal magnetism is indicated and may be used to gain control over others. Personal affairs are certain to be impacted by an incorrect use of Mars-Pluto's destructive energies when they could instead be used to better the lives of others via social concerns while acting within a broader religious context. He does purport himself to be religious in an Old Testament way, doesn't he? Does he fancy himself a preacher? Sometimes in speeches he sounds like it although no one religious that this particular Christian knows would ever try to blend Politics with Religion for they're like oil and water. Then again, I'm a Georgia native with Virginia roots and have never had a reason to visit the state of Alabama in my life! (It's probably a personal failing on my part though.)

So naturally, Judge Roy Moore's career has involved themes such as violence and criminality and his Mars-Pluto opposition fits in perfectly with these themes and probably helped inspire him to go into crime-related fields--impelled him, I suspect. Yet how this destructive energy with its Scorpionic 'Underworld' vibes will be used and felt on Capitol Hill and across the nation if Roy Moore attains a seat in the US Senate will be a tale for another post that I will not be looking forward to typing.

Perhaps the transiting square between Mars and Pluto which perfects on Sunday November 19th will increase pressure on the Republican candidate and some sort of resolution will occur, forced though it will most likely be.

Yesterday we discussed the natal Jupiter of Donald Trump and I noted my intention to write a similar post on Steve Bannon and his natal Jupiter, plus, others. A series.

Since then Trump has publicly criticized 'his' Attorney General Jeff Sessions because he independently recused himself from all investigations involving the 2016 Campaign (thus becoming useless to Donald Trump and prompting the appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller) so perhaps we'd better put Mr. Bannon's Airy Jupiter on the window sill for now and hurry to check up on the Watery natal Jupiter of Jeff Sessions who says that he will continue serving as AG as long as it is appropriate. That's his innate sense of decorum expressing in tandem with an understanding of the legalities involved which Trump has no idea of or appreciation for.

(As if the indecorous Mr. Trump cares what's appropriate especially if it conflicts with fulfilling his immediate needs and desires. Leo Mars rising, a dramatic me-first placement supporting his boundary breaking Jupiter. 'Tis he.)

In Scorpio, natal Jupiter denotes a materialistic nature that ruthlessly strives for possessions and pleasure--craves them, in fact. We could say more about those realms of life based on the rest of the natal chart of the present AG but time's a-wastin' so...nyet.

So with Jeff Sessions's Jupiter @19Sco02, we see the planet of largesse and expansion, and its link with the law, involved in a waning conjunction with Venus, two money planets. But with Venus in Scorpio there can be danger of illness via intemperance and a sort of fanaticism in love with a gracious dash of jealousy sprinkled in for intensity's sake. A Venus-Jupiter conjunction indicates an eternal optimist--a 'glass half full' fellow--hoping that all will be well in the end. A life of ease is highly desirable for Venus-Jupiter but with a Capricorn Moon, an ambitious struggle for success cannot be forgotten.

Actually, during the 24 hours of Sessions's day of birth, the Moon may have formed a pleasant sextile to Jupiter. Without an accurate or near-accurate ('shortly before noon', etc) birth time, we can't know for certain. So in case Mr. Sessions is imprinted by one, here is what I gather from a Moon-Jupiter sextile and we can see if it jives: public relations and promotion are good fields for this aspect and personal popularity is often the case. Overly effusive at times, a person with this sextile of opportunity (if one grabs it when offered) must guard against becoming self-righteous even as a streak of the ministry shines through. This usually fortunate aspect has been termed 'the ray of hope' (Oken) but know that there may be loads of vulnerable feelings hiding behind that upright facade!

So we have here a man born under the rays of three planetary conjunctions, one involving Jupiter in Scorpio, a placement that tends to overrate its abilities and gifts in a constant search for 'the good life'. Saturn-Pluto, the ruthless streak in proud Leo, sign of ego, claims many natives who were born in or near 1947 yet taken separately Saturn in Leo can be diplomatic, cautious, and have an aura of simplicity, however studied or genuine it may actually be. Yes, this particular Southerner is among the elated Americans that Governor Nikki Haley signed the bill yesterday to lower and remove the Confederate flag from the South Carolina State Capitol Building in Columbia at 10:00 am today.

Now if only bigotry itself could be lowered from its hateful flag pole and lose its idolizing worshipers!

And no, I don't think my Confederate ancestors are rolling in their sacrificial graves today since what we know as the 'Confederate battle flag' was never actually used as such during the Civil War and is a politics-based ideological fantasy spun by white supremacists (Klansmen) during the 1960s Civil Rights Movement.

Am I also proud of my Southern heritage? Of course. Some of my ancestors migrated to Georgia from Virginia. One, my 4th-great grandfather on my paternal side, was born in Christiansburg, VA on December 25, 1776 (an easy date to remember!) But being proud of your Southern heritage is no justification for the savagery of racism which makes a very scanty shield to hide your cruelty behind while burning crosses and committing murder.

Taking a peek at today's horoscope set for 10:00 am edt Columbia, South Carolina, we find the Venus-Jupiter pair in late Leo (optimism) rising over an early Virgo Ascendant with a MC (Goal) at a 29th critical degree that if rounded up, gives a Sabian Symbol of "A Peacock Parading on an Ancient Lawn." At IC, the Foundation of the Matter is the opposite degree of 29Sco20, the position of US Inaugural Moon 2009, the "A Halloween Jester" degree (30Sco). There is authoritative Saturn Rx @28Sco41--conjoining President Obama's natal MC and dampening--or rewarding--the spirits of the American people (Inaugural Moon).

Applying aspects of the chart-ruler Mercury (@3Can17 in 11th house and conjoining US natal Venus) show how things may proceed from this event and there are two major aspects: a trine to Neptune in Pisces (7th house) denoting the successful use of mass media and the faith-based motives of the victims' families who received the 9 pens Governor Haley used yesterday to make this event possible, and a conjunction with aggressive Mars (7A25) which hints at the partisan speeches and political opinions that will be forcefully expressed in coming days, weeks, even months, over this issue--including the upcoming KKK rally.

Perhaps today's progress in SC (the first state to secede) on jettisoning crusty old grievances will uplift We the People on a karmic level! Yet this must depend on how genuine are the feelings and motives of the actors (politicians and enablers) involved. Is today's flag lowering merely a theatrical farce? Can the scheduled KKK rally on July 18th mar the good intentions of family-oriented South Carolinians? Are publicity and grinning photo ops the point of today's ceremony intended to resolve a difficult political situation and improve business opportunities in the state? The first US planet to rise in the 10 am chart is, after all, America's deceptive, media and the masses planet Neptune in Virgo though we may hope that compassion and faith are suitably attached!

Confused by who's inviting whom to tea and why?

at-Largely has the clearest explanation of the Tea Party phenomenon that I've run across to date.

Seems the old 'Boston Tea Party' of Freemasons dressed in Indian costumes and dumping the East India Company's tea in the harbor has reached across the centuries, doesn't it? But someone's confused because there's more to the corporate angle than the GOP would have us believe now that they've appropriated what was originally a (well-deserved) grass roots reaction to bad governing.

It's a pity that America's long-standing wound of racism has taken a seat at their tea table, imo.

Yes, it was while living in Washington DC that I first tasted Constant Comment tea and fell in love with its orange and clove flavors. And if I were snowed in there this week as I once was then, I'd be having a steaming cup with my scramblies, toast, and jam. Actually, they allow cups of Constant Comment to steam in Georgia, too, and perhaps I shall indulge this morning...in solidarity.

Actually I think it's not about racism for Mr. Obama per se, it's about protecting the financially powerful elite who helped put him in office for such a purpose as this. Perhaps Pres. Obama is more of a monarchist than a racist, hmm?
