6 South, 8 North, 8 South Eclipses: 'Cosmic Blinks' and Universal 'Wild Cards'

By now most all have heard that another Total "Great American Eclipse" is due on April 8, 2024 (@19Ari24), an even longer-lasting Total Solar Eclipse than the one that occurred on August 21, 2017 in the 1 North Saros Series @29Leo - a critical 29th degree conjunct royal Regulus and the Ascendant and Mars rising of 'comrade' Trump. So you see, the Election isn't the only significant 2024 event in America, one being earthly, the other cosmic - in fact, a Universal 'wild card' as they're known because eclipses often disrupt and change directions of earthly events much as erratic planet Uranus can do. And as you know, such energies are most potent when a total eclipse occurs especially in the Path of Totality.

Q: Will a 'cosmic link' from the 8 North cosmic blink of an eclipse form? Read on!

Note: for practical details on where and how the April 2024 Path of Totality will rush across the country from Southwest to Northeast, one resource is the WordPress blog National Eclipse. The 2024 eclipse will enter the US from Mexico into Texas, swipe across several major cities (more cities than 1 North in 2017), and leave the US from the state of Maine. The longest duration of totality will be 4m 28S compared with 2m 40s in 2017 and will occur in Mexico.

Of historic interest, the last 4-minute Total Eclipse to occur over our present-day contiguous states was over 200 years ago on June 16, 1806 @24Gem44 so this one in 2024 will be a big deal and well attended unless the unpredictable, frosty weather of early April interferes, especially in the Northern states and over various lakes such as Lakes Erie and Ontario. Crazily, the eclipse's 24Gem44 position conjuncts that of Trump's June 16, 2015 'Prez Bid' New Moon ('25Gemini' = "A Man Trimming Palms.") Who can forget his escalator descent that morning and the bigoted rhetoric delivered to a paid-to-attend audience and, of course, to TV cameras? Therefore, this creates a cosmic link - by degree. Plus you know that if potent enough, New Moons can behave similarly to solar eclipses.

6 South Eclipse Themes Affected Events of 1806

Now the 1806 eclipse is aka, Tecumseh's Eclipse and fell into the 6 South Saros Series. I believe its themes resonate with Shawnee Chief Tecumseh's travails and conflicts with the ever-increasing number of European settlers with 6 South's themes of: 'manic energy; being forceful, taking power; sudden events; great strength or force in relationships; huge efforts in group activities' (paraphrasing Predictive Astrology, B. Brady; #ad).

However, we should note that the The Great American Eclipse of 2024 falls into the 8 North Saros Series with themes of 'flashes of genius; vivid dreams' but it is not the Prenatal Eclipse of Election Day 2024. That honor belongs to the 8 South Eclipse of October 2, 2024 @10Libra03 with its difficult themes of 'separation; partings; loss; completion; over-strain with a potential for physical injury' (Brady). You may remember that the last 8 South occurred on September 22, 2006 @29Virgo during the wrong-headed Bush-Cheney neocon regime. Check out historical events of 2006 for more information.

Prior to The Great American Eclipse of 2024 Other Eclipses Will Manifest

So as we've previously discussed on SO'W, a Solar Eclipse in the 6 South Saros Series will manifest soon on October 25, 2022 @2Scorpio (DC Horoscope shown) and had done so multiple times before since the initial eclipse of March 6, 1049 @21Pis55. And notably, a 6 South eclipse manifested prominently as what I call the Nazis Rise to Power Eclipse on August 31, 1932 @8Vir09.

And here in closing is the question: Will a Herr Trump candidacy and 'presidency' 'eclipse' America once again in 2024 as he did in 2017 with "MAGA" madness (aka, white supremacy) or some other political slogan intended to deceive? Horoscope: August 2017 Solar Eclipse Across America

Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Please check the website for specific cities--some are directly in the Path of Totality, some are on the edge of it.

From Oregon to South Carolina: Astrology of the August 21, 2017 Solar Eclipse

This will be the first Total Solar Eclipse to fall across the United States in 99 years and will occur @28Leo52 which opposes US natal Moon in our 1776 natal horoscopes set for around 5:00 pm LMT. Is this significant? Possibly so since the eclipse lands on the doorstep of the American people. And additiional consideration is a 29th degree is considered a critical degree condition for a planet straining in some way and may relate to the potential for natural disasters and/or disruption of energy (ex: power grid.) Plus, 29 Leo is near royal star Regulus (00Vir) with its caution: success if revenge is avoided.

In the symbolic Astrology used on this site, the first thing to know is that this eclipse falls in the 1 North Saros Series, the same Series as the August 11, 1999 'Nostradamus' or 'King of Terror' Solar Eclipse. Because of this, I close this post with the horoscope of 1 North's Initial Solar Eclipse which manifested on January 4, 1639 @13Cap48, a degree you recognize as transiting Pluto's recent playground. This adds to the transformative picture of the eclipse which has the usual Uranian 'wild card of the Universe' vibe that all eclipses carry. So when we think '1 North' we think The Mother of All Eclipses so naturally the sign of the initial eclipse of the Series is the filter through which we view subsequent 1N eclipses--now it's Leo (Sun) seen through a Saturnian Capricorn lens. Note that America's natal horoscope (July 4, 1776) contains a Sun-Saturn square.

The first landfall location is the Oregon Coast and the last place of Totality is in South Carolina before the eclipse shadow sweeps across the Atlantic Ocean after beginning in the Pacific Ocean. Below is the horoscope set for South Carolina which is quite near the degrees of one set for Washington DC so I'll not display a chart for our nation's capital since DC does not lie in the Path of Totality but some of the placements will be mentioned.

For the landfall horoscope I am using Lincoln Beach because of its proximity though smaller beaches are useful locations, too, as well as Newport, Oregon if you're so inclined to set up a chart or two.

August 21, 2017's 1N Solar Eclipse @29Leo is being called The Great American Eclipse and is highlighted (#6) because it is the first Total Solar Eclipse that will be visible in all the 48 states with a Path of Totality from Oregon to South Carolina. It is also significant because it manifests on a critical-crisis 29th degree and is near a Royal Star of Persia, Regulus, now precessed into very early Virgo with the keywords, 'success if revenge is avoided'.

A Solar Eclipse in proud Leo, ruled by the Sun (ego, hero's journey, natural leadership, royalty, creativity, vitality) denotes that karmic progress depends upon use of the positive Leonine qualities rather than pride, arrogance, egocentricity, vanity, pomposity, and other negative traits of Leo which retard or block karmic progress.

In 2017, the manifestation of 1N is the first time the 'Nostradamus' 'King of Terror' (or, 'Alarm')--the 'Mother of All Eclipses'--has repeated since its much-touted manifestation @18Leo on August 11, 1999. The Fixed Grand Cross of that eclipse is notable for its appearance in the Book of Revelation of the Oxen Point, the Lion Point, the Eagle Point, and the Angel Point of the mid-degrees of the Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius.)

Perhaps you prefer to think this link by eclipse between 1999 and 2017 is of no matter. Well, as always, dear reader, that is up to you. Yet the Fixed Cross degrees and the degree and sign of the 1999 eclipse are sensitized and I expect some repetition of such themes. And yes, I do believe it is late days in earthly history--though not the latest.

Themes of 1N: unexpected events concerning groups or friends occur and place great pressure on personal relationships; issues loom large yet hasty decisions are unwise since information is distorted and possibly false; health matters and fatigue are associated with 1N. The Jupiter-Pluto pair denotes bankers, politicians, power brokers, and big wheeler-dealers who mount large projects (ed: like global government.)

A Brief Look at the Aries Total Eclipse of April 2024

In the years 1878 and 2017, America experienced what many call 'Great American Eclipses'. You'll remember the eclipse of August 21, 2017 @29Leo and its path of visibility stretching across America from Oregon to South Carolina--and Trump removing his safety glasses to stare directly up at the Eclipse which did, after all, conjoin his natal Ascendant and Mars rising. Is it my imagination or is Trump's right eye is looking a bit weak lately? As you'll see on the eclipse horoscope, below, 'blind spot' Chiron is conjoined (or 'eclipsed') by the April 2024 Solar Eclipse--and eclipses are often known as "cosmic blinks"! Plus, in Astrology Chiron is also known as the wounded healer, The Key, and the Christ archetype; there are several other health indications in the horoscope if one enlarges the image and reads them.

So the third Total 'Great American' Solar Eclipse, visible in the US (see link, below), manifests on April 8, 2024 @19Aries in the 8 North Saros Series. An interesting fact is that the 2024 eclipse path of totality will intersect with the path of the August 2017 eclipse at Makanda, Illinois, plus, other cities will be involved as well and are handily listed here. Funny that a Great American Eclipse 2017 Horoscope happened to be published on SO'W in 2017 set for--Makanda, Illinois and Mercury was Rx then, too, but in its own sign of Virgo.

Although Symbolic There's Another Cosmic Event in 2024

Penned on the chart above is America's Progressed New Moon ('SP'--in blue) which symbolically perfects on March 25, 2024 @19Pis26 and in April is conjoined by the eclipse's Saturn-Neptune and Mars-Neptune midpoints. As you know, Saturn-Neptune is the "illness axis" and can be a marker for Socialism (and for invisible government) while Mars-Neptune tends toward infections, epidemics, or even help at the right time! (Ebertin).

And perhaps it's worth noting that prior to our SP New Moon in Pisces, America enters the symbolic Balsamic phase on November 28, 2020, the risky 'dark of the Moon' period (similar to entering a dark tunnel) when anything can happen and with SP Moon @1AQ07 conjunct our SP Pluto @29Cap27 and SP Icarus. This is also conjunct US Inaugural Sun--assuming there's a US president by then. But for now, it's back to the 2024 eclipse horoscope:

Yes, medical breakthroughs could be forthcoming (if not before! plus, Jupiter and Uranus conjunct @21Tau50 on April 20/21 depending on your time zone = lucky break!) for the Great American Eclipse of 2024 falls into the 8 North Saros Series with themes of: 'flashes of genius; visions; intuitive leaps, insights, inventiveness' (Brady's Predictive Astrology). Inventiveness gains some support from the intellectually flexible, technology-savvy Mercury-Uranus midpoint atop the eclipse's Midheaven ('MC' @7Tau59--conjunct two fixed stars: danger-prone Hamal and Schedir the Queen). Mercury-Uranus at MC suggests professional folk such as physicists, mathematicians, cosmobiologists, researchers, and inventors who are able to think about a matter keenly and engage in a swift course of action.

Of course, Mercury-Uranus-MC may also indicate those who spout propaganda during emergencies. But we're suffering that already, am I right?

Another Great American Eclipse coming in April 2024

On April 8, 2024 Another Great American Eclipse Zooms Across the Country

On the topic of prominent solar eclipses, you'll remember the most recent Great American Eclipse of August 21, 2017 @28Leo52 in the 1 North Saros Series which was visible in 48 states and 'split' the US from Oregon to South Carolina. It tied in closely to the former guy in the White House at that time - divisive as he was and is - and echoed his 'MAGA' propaganda slogan. Needless to say, Leonine pride, arrogance, and vanity were not avoided and difficult karma was created as a result.

The next such Total eclipse visible in the US will occur in Mars-ruled Aries (@19:24 conjunct Chiron 19:24!) so that the eclipse's expression involves issues of courage, enthusiasm, and daring. Bold confrontation of circumstances, plus, leadership and initiative will be on society's menu with our problems viewed as challenges. Competition will be highly charged (ex: US presidential race 2024) by overly aggressive, headstrong individuals quick to anger. Note that Chiron @19Ari24 nears its position in America's July 4 1776 chart/s ("21Aries" = "A Pugilist Entering the Ring.")

A Few 2024 Eclipse Details and the NMSZ

As for the path of totality of the Total Great American Eclipse of April 8, 2024 in the 8 North Saros Series ('dreams and visions'), it will enter the US from Mexico at the Texas border and speed into Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. However, its maximum duration of 4M29S will be experienced near the city of Nazon, Durango, Mexico. Here's the eclipse horoscope set for Washington DC:

Now from eclipse lore of years past, we might be tempted to expect dire consequences from a Total Solar Eclipse especially when made more concerning by an accompanying natural event such as a strong earthquake. Regretfully I must inform you, if you've not noticed before now, that this could possibly be the case but only if the New Madrid Fault finally erupts with a quake as has been predicted over the years. Check it out for yourself if you wish because some of the same states are on the New Madrid Seismic Zone (NMSZ) list that appear on the eclipse list, above:

Damage from a New Madrid Earthquake, if one occurs, threatens parts of several states - alphabetically they are: Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, and Tennessee.

So as I've typed here multiple times through the years, America is my only nag in the race, so my hope and prayer is that our country dodges the worst effects, if any, of such a cosmic synchronicity.

The Very 1st Great American Eclipse

Historical and Eclipse Cycles Rhyme and Forewarn

Previously we discussed the 3 Great American Eclipses and below is a DC Horoscope of the very first Great American Eclipse of July 29, 1878. Falling within the 6 South Saros Series, a consideration may be timely because a Solar Eclipse repeats in the 6 South Series on October 25, 2022 @2Scorpio conjunct Venus in Scorpio which adds a potential for materialism. You'll find the 6 South themes that society must again deal with listed below; and, karmic as it all is, hopefully society will manage the arrogant Leonine energies in a more positive manner this time around as we view the October 2022 eclipse through the lens of 6 South's initial eclipse sign of hazy, if compassionate, Pisces - one end of the victim-savior polarity.

1878 Eclipse @6Leo33 conjunct US North Node of Future Direction: "The Constellations in the Sky"

We should note that the 1878 Eclipse Path of Totality was about 118 miles wide and raced across the Rocky Mountains, the Wyoming Territory (Thomas Edison was there which attracted quite a bit of publicity for the cosmic event), but its path began in Russia.

Rhyming Witch Hunts, Illness, Elections Then and Now

How about a little context? In 1878 after a contentious election tossed to Congress to decide the victor (a 2020 result Trump would have accepted), Rutherford B. Hayes was installed as president and the 45th Congress was sitting upon Capitol Hill. See The Electoral Commission of 1877 for details.

Now among US Events of 1878 are a yellow fever outbreak that killed thousands of people (Aesculapia conjunct contagious Neptune in the 1878 horoscope), and - get this - the last of the Salem Witch Trials in the US was held.

Known as the 1878 Salem (or, Ipswich) Trial, the victim was Daniel H. Spofford, accused of using "mesmerism" on Lucretia Brown, a 50-yo spinster (see the IC's Sabian Symbol!) living in Ipswich, Massachusetts; the proceeding was held on May 14, 1878. Now these folks were early Christian Scientists, adherents of Mary Baker Eddy, who made "mind control" and mental powers such as hypnosis (mesmerism) a topic in her speeches for the rest of her life. Controversy remains as to whether Baker Eddy was actually behind the civil lawsuit against Spofford, yet some say it was only Miss Brown (the aggrieved), but if we go by the Sabian Symbol of the IC, or, Foundation, the HOW? Point in the 1878 eclipse horoscope, we might guess that it was not one but two ladies involved! And prim ones at that.

Of course, these days we're dealing with hyper-Christians and puritanical theocrats who pervert "what Jesus would do" and spout what they imagine to be "noble lies." A form of mass mesmerism is suggested.

Then in recent years we've had multiple mentions of witches for it's a favorite accusation from Trump - that he's target of a "witch hunt," a pitiful ploy for sympathy. He said it again just recently because of the August 8, 2022 FBI search of Mar-a-Lago for stolen White House documents, classified and nuclear related, as it turns out (Venus-Pluto). But the witch wasn't home that morning. He was in NYC at a deposition for which he pleaded the fifth 440 times! For that's what guilty mobsters do because answering truthfully admits to committing crimes.

As for current day mesmerism, for years listening to Trump's disjointed rhetoric I've wondered if the orange blighter uses some kind of mind control technique to convince his audiences of what should by all that's rational be absurdly bizarre claptrap unsuitable for any ear but the most gullible. He's definitely a demagogue "telling them what they want to hear using the power of 'positive' lying" kind of propagandist. And after all, his natal Mercury in Cancer reveals what's on his mind and tongue, collecting gossip being one of his special talents (which goes well with blackmailing activities). "Serious indiscretions" are also indicated - and which are now under scrutiny with the distinct possibility that Herr T "shared" (sold) America's secrets to the highest bidder. Mar-a-Lago surveillance tapes should tell this tale about this lucrative money-making scheme since leaving the White House. My guess is that he had already sold secrets while in the Oval Office. Tragically, this is what happens when a foreign agent is allowed to occupy the US presidency.

So who in Washington DC didn't know what he was and couldn't see our current predicament coming from miles away? Well, maybe now America's Espionage Act will come in handy.

Anyway, I thought a view of the very first Great American Eclipse might interest a few readers, and I added the Sabian Symbols for the chart's Angles, plus, a few other astro-notes for the ultra-curious. Through the years we might say that 6 South eclipses are Pisces-Leo-Virgo-Scorpio affairs with planetary influences proceeding through Jupiter-Neptune-Sun-Mercury - and now we're at a Mars-Pluto stage of manic energy.

6 South's Mars-Pluto and Venus-Pluto Vibes: Violent Fanaticism

Now for 6 South themes that many of us are feeling already. Their thematic influences will grow stronger beginning for up to two weeks prior to the October 25, 2022 Solar Eclipse (appr. Oct 11th+) and have also influenced historic events when a 6 South eclipse manifested on August 31, 1932 (Total then, too) as what I unhappily term the Nazis Rise to Power Eclipse with its possessive Venus-Pluto conjunction in Cancer. Financial concerns are suggested then and now along with fanaticism and jealousy.

Plus, here's a view of the October 25, 2022 Solar Eclipse with emphasis on the forceful, often brutal, weapon-carrying duo of Mars-Pluto which were in opposition at the initial 6 South Eclipse (March 6, 1049) but the pair, with Mars out-of-bounds and acting independently, will be inconjunct at the next manifestation of 6 South in October 2022 and - pass it on - this indicates that beneficial adjustments can be made. In fact, it's time for them. So hopefully, the DOJ's and other investigations into Trump's suspicious activities will result in improvements for America and the common good.

Then on a bizarre, morbid level (where the Mango Mussolini exists), a few political pundits are even wondering what secrets Trump might have buried on his golf course with Ivana! If she was cremated as reported, why is her gravesite coffin-shaped?

Themes of 6 South: "being forceful and taking power; manic energy with great force or strength in relationships; sudden events; exerting huge efforts in group endeavors" (Predictive Astrology, B. Brady #ad).

To me this means that rational Americans who prefer democracy, the US Constitution, the rule of law, and America's traditional Enlightenment principles, absolutely must make huge efforts in order to counter the global fascist/neo-nazi mania, therefore, We The People must have no less than a Blue Tsunami turn-out in November and again in November 2024!

8 North: The Great American Eclipse 2024

Looking Back at Two Earlier 8 North Eclipses

With 'Nazism' now re-raising its barbaric head, and having previously considered the Great American Eclipse of April 8, 2024 in the 8 North Saros Series, let's consider two previous 8 North Eclipses, one of which perfected during the harrowing days of the Republican Great Depression in the US, and the Hitl*rian era of hate-filled authoritarianism and prejudice in Europe.

1934: criminal activity was a major problem as it is now

Among the significant Events of 1934 were arrests and multiple deaths of criminals across America such as Bonnie and Clyde, John Dillinger, and the Lindbergh baby kidnapper, thanks to the work of the FBI. The invention of the machine gun was not such a positive development imho, although of course you're welcome to disagree.

Plus, with multiple workers' strikes happening in the US, a larger event in 1934 seems important in that "history rhymes" kind of way: the 1934 Textile Workers' Strike of September 1934. Although 1934 began with an 8 North Eclipse @25Aquarius (horoscope displayed below), the strike actually occurred under the influence of the 8 South Solar Eclipse of August 10, 1934 @17Leo with its themes of loss and separation. The textile strike lasted from September 1 to September 23, 1934 resulting in 18 deaths, 162+ injuries, and the death of one mill guard; therefore, loss and separation afflicted an undetermined number of families in 1934 just from the strike alone.

What the murderous psychopathic narcissist, Herr Adolf, was up to in Europe in 1934, I shall leave to the curious reader. Grievous loss for all of humanity was certainly part of his stock in trade, as his current-day anti-societal fanatics are hoping for now while the destructive spirit roams the Earth.

The point of this post is: any of the significant cosmic conditions in effect during all 8 North Eclipses may be carried forward, as noted, in that "history rhymes" kind of way - if conditions are right - so that similar events and circumstances may reoccur. Cyclically this gives humanity opportunities to better deal with issues "this time around" and bring karmic progress where we can. Yet the most prominent clues belong to the initial eclipse in a series - you'll find notes concerning the very first 8 North, below.

So for historical context, and lest we assume that the Great American Eclipse of (election year) 2024 will bring along only happy visions and great ideas suitable for the common good - and hopefully it will! - above you see a dual image of the 8 North of 1934 (lower left) and the 8 North of 2024 (upper right) which precisely conjuncts centaur Chiron, the wounded healer archetype in Astrology, and, for some, a symbol of Jesus Christ, the key to Eternal Life; as you see, a bunch of my study notes are squooshed upon the charts (mea culpa!).

The initial 8 North occurred on May 16, 1501 @4Gem51 and is the lens through which all subsequent 8 North Eclipses may be considered via Gemini and its ruler Mercury. Therefore, issues of logic and communication must be involved.

In the May 16, 1501 Horoscope (not shown in this post), Mercury @26Gem46 conjuncts Chiron (26:50) suggesting curiosity and restlessness. In addition, Mercury also inconjuncts Pluto (Rx @26Sco10). Then given that Mercury rules the 1501 eclipse, and considering the huge amounts of demagoguery, propaganda, and deception the world is now afflicted by, I believe the Mercury-Pluto inconjunct of 1501 will carry forward along with the 8 North of 2024 and will ruffle America's 1776 Mercury-Pluto opposition across the security-and-business-minded Cancer-Capricorn axis - particularly since the 8 North of 2024 manifests as the third of our three total Great American Eclipses visible across the country. Influences of a Mercury-Pluto inconjunct include but are not limited to:

Obsessive thinking, clinging to 'old ideas' and the past with intellectual rigidity, promoting an uncompromising dogmatism, exhibiting an attraction to doctrinaire people, and spotlighting serial liars and gossips (A. Epstein). If the inconjunct sounds like anyone in politics operating current-day, dear reader, then we're on the same page. Ruffled is the US Mercury-Pluto opposition, descriptive of corrupt actors who work to undermine and sabotage existing conditions and institutions such as the US government. And we know who they are, don't we?

'Wild Card' Eclipses, Historical and Political Events

News has gotten around that yet another Great American Eclipse will manifest in the 8 North Saros Series on April 8, 2024 @19Ari24 conjunct wounded healer Chiron at the same position. This is the third of three such solar eclipses, total and visible across the United States beginning in Texas. Most folks remember the previous Great American Eclipse of August 21, 2017 @28Leo52 conjunct Regulus, the 'kingmaker' star that rises in the natal horoscope of D. John Trump (if his 10:54 am est birth time is accurate). He demonstrated his Apollo rising with royal Regulus and aggressive Mars when he removed safety glasses and looked directly at the total eclipse as if he's a "sun god" (in his own mind). Yet as you know, Leo is one of the signs of royalty (pride and vanity).

Even so, no one alive remembers the very first Great American Eclipse of 1878. So here's a previous SO'W post from 2022 concerning all three eclipses, all total, all visible within the U.S.

And yet this post isn't about these eclipses, it's about the 8 South Eclipse of October 2, 2024 for it's the one that will influence Election 2024 and Inauguration 2025 with 8S themes of "loss; separation; partings; to finish something and feel sad at its completion; possible physical injury through overstrain"; take it easy (paraphrasing B. Brady's Predictive Astrology #ad). Here are DC Horoscopes of 8 South Eclipses with their aspect grids:

Shown above are both horoscopes of 8 South Eclipses set for DC: first, its initial Eclipse of May 16, 1501 @4Gem51 which provides the lens through which to consider all subsequent 8 South Eclipses via its Mercury-ruled sign of Gemini and applied to the upcoming 8 South Eclipse in Venus-ruled Libra, also an Air sign. Gemini: news, communication, oration, trade, teaching; and Libra: diplomacy, beauty, relationships, and the Scales of Justice.

Notably, 10Libra03 lands squarely inside Trump's natal 2nd hou$e and within his trio of Neptune-Chiron-Jupiter with its grand scheme, fraud, and speculation influences. And as the entire world knows, Big Donald is now within a period of being held accountable for the first time in his life.

Meanwhile, in Political Astrology, the initial and upcoming 8 South eclipses suggest that their combined Mercury-Venus influences are worth pondering within the Hegelian Dialectic model aptly used by Michael Munkasey:

Thesis: A mixture of business and society; beautification programs for highways; news about the status of wealth; social psychology, the study of people.

Antithesis: a business sector at odds with society; speeches which emhasize economic facts; propaganda about the ease and quality of life; debates on added costs; a transportation system that places beauty over function. (Paraphrasing, Midpoints: Unleashing the Power of the Planets, M.M. #ad).

You recognize that some of these Mercury-Venus potentials are operative now, don't you? And last but not least, when solar eclipses occur in Air signs, logic must be placed about personal biases and emotional attitudes - and judgments must be based on facts and truth (R. Lineman). If karmic progress is the goal.

One more Eclipse Note: 8 South Eclipses have also manifested in the years 1916, 1934, 1952, 1970, 1988, 2006, (2024), and next in 2042 @21Libra, which by degree will stimulate or activate themes of the 7 South Eclipse of October 14, 2023 which is in effect as as I type this post. Repetitions of eclipses are so that humanity has opportunities to handle events and conditions better the next time around.

Oregon and South Carolina Horoscopes of The Great American Eclipse

A Cosmic Blink Directed Toward America!

Here are two horoscopes for the 'first touch on US soil' at Depoe Bay, Oregon, and what I've labeled the "buh-bye" chart where the August 21, 2017 Total Solar Eclipse--aka, The Great American Eclipse--last touches US soil at Cape Island, South Carolina.

Perhaps you can enlarge the image and read a few notes?

There wasn't a lot of space to add Mr. Trump's natal Mars Rising in late Leo (with Regulus) so you won't see that listed around either chart but you will see that transit Saturn is again hitting Trump's natal Moon and South Node (divorce? his approval rating trends even lower?) which denotes a difficult time unless mitigated by the good planning and hard work that have taken place. Uranus in Aries marks the spot where friends, colleagues, and/or groups may provide karmic resources (from 7th house in Oregon, from 5th house in S.C.) so that evolutionary progress can be made.

Hello, Depoe Bay, Oregon!

And as you see, the chart-ruler in Oregon is Venus (24Can41 near Trump's natal Venus and Saturn and conjunct US natal Mercury Rx = good news?) which makes only one applying aspect: a square to Uranus (is someone blocking those karmic resources?) so that awkward social events take place; however, conditions and situations can turn pleasant before they end. US natal Sun (13Can19) sits atop the Oregon chart at Midheaven (MC) along with two fixed stars, Sirius (The Scorcher) and Canopus (The Plumb Line) joining in by degree.

Fare Thee Well, Cape Island, South Carolina!

In South Carolina, chart-ruler Jupiter holds sway @20Lib11 in 10th house (and still in progress of completing Mr. Trump's three-fer Jupiter Return to 17Lib27). As you see, Jupiter applies only once to an opportunistic sextile to Saturn, an aspect suggesting that hard work and careful planning will pay off and that limitations must be accepted in order to avoid over-extending ourselves. Of course, this is also a transiting sextile to Mr. Trump's natal Moon-SN conjunction and though his Saturnian SN involvement complicates matters, it hints that on some level, Donald Trump's dreams may come true--even with a Total Solar Eclipse hitting his natal Ascendant (physical body) and rising Mars in royal Leo! Plus, its last touch in S.C. puts US natal Neptune @22Vir25 at Midheaven (MC), the Goal Point of the chart. Neptune in Virgo identifies the many scientists and artists involved with this rare eclipse.

Now as you know, a Solar Eclipse in Leo spotlights the need to avoid Leo's more negative qualities such as pride, vainglory, bossiness, and pomposity. Hmmm...now what do you think are the chances of that? Especially when "fixed stars work through eclipses" (D. Ovason) so that the caution of Regulus may be the primary take-away here: success if revenge is avoided (if not, then all that has been gained will be lost). And that's another 'what are the chances?' when it comes to Donald Trump, America's avenger-in-chief.

Still, I'm typing this on April 3, 2017 when Trump 'scandals' litter the news cycle like Russian fleas on Chinese pups. But will his crises in office be sufficiently damaging to his administration by August so that the Solar Eclipse reveals a 'stepping down' or impeachment situation for an eclipsed Mr. Trump? Or will he, his policies, colleagues, and enablers eclipse America as they seem inclined to do?

Final Notes: neither of the charts above show the Solar Eclipse perfected (28Leo52); according to my Solar Fire Gold v9+ software, perfection occurs on August 21, 2017 at 2:30:07 pm edt.

Great American Eclipses of 1878, 2017, and 2024

Eclipses affect History so as I await delivery of author and science writer David Baron's book American Eclipse: A Nation's Epic Race to Catch the Shadow of the Moon and Win the Glory of the World concerning the Solar Eclipse of July 29, 1878 @6Leo33 (conjunct US natal North Node!), I'm posting below brief astrological details on the themes of the 1878 eclipse, The Great American Eclipse of August 21, 2017 @28Leo52 (conjunct the natal Ascendant of Mr. Trump--ASC = physical body--the fool who daringly removed his safety glasses to stare at it), and the next Great North American Eclipse of April 8, 2024 @19Ari24--precisely conjunct transit Chiron @19Ari24.

All three eclipses were/are Total and their themes listed below paraphrase those found in Brady's Predictive Astrology:

July 29, 1878 6 South themes: 'being forceful; taking power; huge efforts in a group activity; sudden events; manic energy'. The group of eclipse chasers, which included Thomas Edison, were determined to put fledgling America on the scientific map and their activities boosted our nation's standing in the world and romanticized US expansion into the 'Wild Wild West'. A 6 South eclipse will next manifest on October 25, 2022 @2Scorpio.

August 21, 2017 1 North themes: 'unexpected events put great pressure on relationships via issues that loom large; fatigue or health problems are attached; make no hasty decisions because information is distorted or possibly false'. (The 1 North Saros Series is 'The Mother of All Eclipses' and a repeat of the August 1999 'King of Terror' eclipse which some folks link to the predictions of Nostradamus--and of course we think of the attacks of 9/11 and the engendered fear, paranoia, hasty decisions, and the propagandized 'war on terror' that resulted.) The next eclipse in the 1 North series will perfect on September 2, 2035 @9Virgo.

April 8, 2024 8 North themes: 'flashes of genius and inventiveness; dreams and visions; insights and new-found inspiration which can temporarily pull people away from relationships and cause strain in their private lives'. The next 8 North after 2024? Not until April 20, 2042 @00Taurus, a degree where 'wild card' planet Uranus hangs around these days.

Of course, all that being said on August 7, 2018, we must first deal with events over the next few months or more brought to us by a Universal 'wild card' via The Tower Solar Eclipse which soon perfects on August 11, 2018 @18Leo41 with its 'collapse of plans or lifestyles' and 'rebuilding after the dust settles' theme which may very well relate to tower-builder Donald Trump, Trump Jr, and/or other of Trump's cronies and enablers, both foreign and domestic.

An Ongoing Struggle for Control

Details regarding the 8 North Total Eclipse coming up on April 8, 2024 @19Ari24 are available at USA Today along with information concerning the next Total Solar Eclipse visible across Greenland, Canada, and the US occurring on August 22, 2044 @00Vir34:11 in the 10 South Saros Series. This will stir up themes from the August 21, 2017 Eclipse ("unexpected events; fatigue; information is distorted and possibly false" - B. Brady).

Now as previously discussed, the visionary 8 North of April 8, 2024 conjuncts Chiron, also @19Ari24 and near America's 1776 Chiron (@20Ari08), with 8 North visible across the center of the US from Texas to Maine. And as you know, it's the third Great American Eclipse of 2024 with the second one occurring on August 21, 2017 @29Leo (as noted, above) conjunct Regulus and Trump's natal Ascendant in the 1 North Series. Allegedly making America "great" then, and now, with Election 2024 on the horizon, making America "great" again - by way of a shady political slogan, that is. Of course, you know what the racists mean: making America white again.

And so the next visible Total Eclipse in the US will be the 10 South Solar Eclipse of August 22, 2044, and it will be opposed by Pluto Rx @1Pis35. This opposition from transformative Pluto indicates a choice between two courses: either the highest spiritual level is attained, or reversion into the basest animalism is the case. Yes, we're mired within such circumstances now, culminating with the 2024 Election to decide on either the relatively free society we're accustomed to vs a tyrannical gnatzie-style regime of strong-man barbarism profanely blended with holier-than-thou legislated theocracy. Most folks by now have heard of the draconian plan known as "Project 2025" set to explode on Inauguration Day 2025 if a fascist coups the White House in November.

Note: if you're unfamiliar with the SACR organization of Christian Nationalists and Christian Marriage promoters ("domination in the home" easily becomes S'n'M practices when mishandled - as they will be), check out The Guardian's coverage. I am informed that "SACR" is pronounced "sacker."

And yet a sextile from Mars @3Sco18 to the 2044 Eclipse helps moderate the baser energies although backsliding is possible, especially with lusty Mars in sexy Scorpio.

Not So Fast, 2044!

Yet we should mention that an additional 10 South Eclipse occurs between now and the Eclipse of August 22, 2044. Actually, it manifests quite soon on August 12, 2026 @20Leo01 and is featured in the dual image, shown below. In Leo, an eclipse spotlights the need for expressing the positive qualities of Leo rather than pompousness, self-glorification, boasting, and egocentricity which stymies positive karmic growth and problem solving.

One thinks of the toxic narcicissism in the spotlight today: politicians and CEOs so desperate for total control of the US government, US finances and resources, and societal standards while pushing regressive policies existing as far back as the 1800s (or even further as with Alito's repeal of Roe v Wade). But as everyone knows, "time travel" is not a thing so irrationality is a basic feature of their paternalistic ideologies, not a glitch.

Leo (Aquarius) Then Virgo (Pisces)

Now with an eclipse in modest Virgo as in 2044, qualities such as hard work, dedication, discernment, and perceptive analysis are required for best results, with criticism kept to a minimum. Plus, @00Virgo, the 2044 Eclipse conjuncts royal star Regulus with its caution: success if revenge is avoided; otherwise all gains will be taken away (as Regulus-rising Trump is fighting against now). As you know, an eclipse conjunct a fixed star strengthens both their influences.

Set for Washington DC, above is a dual image of the 2026 and 2044 Horoscopes of 10 South Total Eclipses. The 2044 manifestation will be visible in Greenland, Canada, and the US with its path of Totality racing over Montana, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The 2026 Eclipse will pass over the Arctic, Greenland, Iceland, the Atlantic Ocean, and Northern Spain. Naturally, one thinks of melting ice and other water events, but also the fire element can be involved with an Eclipse in Sun-ruled Leo.

Cosmic time links exist between both these eclipses and with previous eclipses such as the "Nostradamus" Eclipse of August 11, 1999 in the 1 North Saros Series (repeated in August 2017) with 1999's rigid Fixed Grand Cross of planets. These time links may be topics of future posts.

Then for a broader view, the cosmic lens through which all subsequent manifestations of 10 South Eclipses may be viewed is the initial Eclipse in the Series, its sign, house and aspects. The first 10 South Eclipse occurred on March 10, 1179 (OS) @26Pis01 (transit Neptune's Zodiacal swimming pool in late Pisces). Then since Pisces is associated with cloudiness, I'd suggest Pisces as a spiritual lens along with Collective Unconscious implications since many of the events of 1179 involved The Crusades and other battles for control, both spiritual and temporal. And yet we know that with shady Pisces, secrecy, mystery, confusion, and/or crime cannot be ruled out.

So this is my overview of two Total Eclipses Over America: 8 North on April 8, 2024 and 10 South of August 22, 2044. Reaganomics Eclipse 1981 a Turning Point for America

American People Still Bamboozled by Reagan Economics

Many moons ago I posted the horoscope of 1981's Reaganomics Eclipse on my WordPress blog, Jude's Threshold (its title a reference to my natal 12th house Saturn, guardian of the threshold). I don't go there often now but you may for there are quite a few post links in the blog's sidebar, posts which may relate to current events.

And since the eclipse may be used to time fundamental changes to America dating from 1981 and the presidency of Ronald Reagan, I'm publishing the eclipse horoscope (of July 30, 1981 @7Leo51 in the 1 North Saros Series which repeated as The Great American Eclipse of August 21, 2017--conjunct Trump's natal Ascendant and royal Regulus) here on SO'W for future reference if needed. And as you know, another Great American Eclipse (8 North series; 'vivid visions or dreams, flashes of genius, new-found inspiration'--Brady) will perfect on April 8, 2024 @19Aries and will 'split' our nation diagonally (Southeast to Northwest) while the 2017 eclipse split American horizontally (North-South).

Yes, the Decade of Greed of the 1980s really "hit the jackpot" during the presidential terms of Ronald Reagan whose administration early on made deeper cuts to the Federal School Lunch and Child Nutrition Programs (25%) than the original Omnibus Reconciliation Act of 1980 signed by President Carter had done (8%), and thereby allowed schools to count condiments such as ketchup and pickle relish as vegetables. This created controversy of course and was a sign of disrespect toward American children by politicians of the GOP persuasion in particular. Later, the Congress of 2011 followed the GOP vs Children blueprint by allowing meagerly topped pizza to be counted as a vegetable. What do Republicans have against children, I wonder? Pardon me for typing this but can skin color have anything to do with the GOP's neglect of the youngest among us? Or is it simply a matter of selfishness and soul-destroying greed? And of course with Trump, this child neglect (and I would add, abuse) shown by the GOP of the 1980s has 'blossomed' into putting children in cages, separating them from their families, then losing a great number of them--or, have they marked 'em up and sold them on?

Well it seems to me that one perfect yet simple example in stark relief of the redirecting of America from a (reasonably) caring society into a Circus of Greed and Abuse as run by the still-greedy GOP has to be the Carter Inauguration of 1977 when Mr. Carter became the first US president to walk from the Capitol Building to the White House in the post-ceremony parade. In contrast, both Reagan and Trump motored regally from Capitol Building to White House in high style, ensconced in fancy limousines, their ritzy selves hidden from potential rotten-tomato-throwers.

And one of the many tragedies to spring from the Trump era is that his supporters (fans and cult members, alike) vote for a heartless, lewd man who only pretends to care about them and their circumstances when really he'd just as soon forget they exist if he didn't need them to spin his illusion of power and as props for bolstering his ego during his never-ending campaign rallies.

Do you know that the natal Jupiter of Ronald Reagan, though he's passed into the Great Beyond, returned to natal degree (13Sco44) three times recently: December 14, 2017 (the year of the Trump 'election'), June 24, 2018, and July 26, 2018. A Scorpio Jupiter tends toward materialism, a ruthless striving for possessions and pleasures, and a habit of overrating oneself. And in Reagan's 1981 Inauguration horoscope, transit Chiron @13Taurus conjoined the chart's Ascendant (Oath of Office) suggesting a wounding or a blind spot, with Reagan's natal Jupiter opposite and conjunct the chart Descendant. Turning to master astrologer Richard Nolle we find that a Jupiter-Chiron opposition implies, "one whose Quest aims at a radical redirection of the socio-cultural environment - anarchy and occultism play a central role in one's transformative vision." So apparently transit Chiron opposing his natal Jupiter (across the financial 2/8 axis) was inspiring to The Gipper who was nearly assassinated on March 30, 1981. His condition much more serious than the public was told, Mr. Reagan recuperated quickly for 70-year-old and returned to the White House on April 11, 1981 to continue overseeing our 'Decade of Greed'.

Astro-Notes Concerning Eclipses, America, and Switzerland

This is a heads-up for those who may be interested in ancient star lore of Virgo the Virgin, Spica (celestial symbol of the Washington Monument), Scotland's Rosslyn Chapel and its Masonic Legacy, Knights Templar (who are said to have created Switzerland expressly for their banking purposes), and other esoteric topics: there is an astoundingly informative article by astrologer Ed Kohout that you may wish to check out.

But no one has to go all the way to Scotland to be in 'Rosslyn' since there's a Rosslyn, Virginia just across the Potomac from DC. Is it ironic that the 'Deepthroat' meetings that informed journalists Woodward and Bernstein about the Watergate break-in were held in a parking garage there...at column '32', a Masonic number?

As for Campaign 2016, have you noticed how the Republican burglary of Democratic headquarters which resulted in the Watergate scandal resembles the current hacking (theft) of DNC emails? By which I imply: have Republicans enabled hackers in order to interfere with Hillary's chances for a second White House occupancy? Just wondering since America's political class is stuffed full of crooks on both sides determined to win at any cost. No dirty trick is too low for these varmints!

The August 2017 eclipse falls into the 1 North Saros Series and is the first repetition of the August 11, 1999 King of Alarm Eclipse (horoscope shown) associated with the Nostradamus prophecies. Substitute the word 'Terror' for 'Alarm' and we have the major theme of the New Millennium as finagled by crooked politicians and their banker enablers intent on global domination.

Remember the Bush-Cheney color alerts meant to ramp up our fear in their "war on terror"? The thuggish alerts were so ridiculed ('puce' and 'magenta' were favorites of mine) that Washington discontinued them along with 'sheets of plastic and duct tape' for our doors and windows. How the ruling class must have laughed over that silly advice which, as usual, made monkeys out of decent people and kept the ill-gained reins of control in the claws of the ruling elite.

The First 2017 Solar Eclipse Hits Switzerland's Natal Pisces Moon

A Swiss Note: the "lucky break" 19 South February 26, 2017 Solar Eclipse hits the 8 Pisces Moon in the natal 'Constitution' horoscope of Switzerland (Campion) set for September 12, 1848 11:12 LT Bern (Moon conjoins natal IC 7Pis54). This horoscope also shows that Switzerland is in process of a Uranus Return to natal degree of 21Ari26 Rx--conjunct the bankers' Pluto (27Ari34 Rx--both planets in natal 5th house and so the Uranus-Pluto conjunction is activated. Acrux of the Southern Cross and the Eclipse of Donald Trump

Starry Acrux! The Great American Eclipse Ruffles Mr. Trump and His Warring Mars

Once upon a time the constellation of the Southern Cross was visible in Jerusalem. Was it followed by the Maji as the Star of Bethlehem? Doesn't seem probable to me but then there are several theories as to what that cosmic Star may have been. However, we do know that the three Maji of gold-frankencense-and-myrrh fame were Eastern astrologers and seers who knew what they were looking at and what they were compelled to do: follow its guidance to honor the new king.

The Southern Cross constellation's brightest star is Acrux (Alpha Crux), a triple star that can be used in astrology though my own use of fixed stars tends toward the symbolic side with star positions (sign and degree) aligning in horoscopes with various planets (if they do--conjunctions and the occasional opposition only). Parans between stars and planets (whether rising, culminating, setting, and/or lower-ing together) are often noted by yours truly but are not always mentioned in texts (for then posts would soon become books) and for Acrux this is moot anyway since the star is not visible in most northern hemisphere charts and may not be used at all unless symbolically.

And of course, in Astrology the archetypal symbol of The Cross in essence denotes The Cross of Matter upon which the human body manifests on the earthly plane and when prominent in a horoscope suggests the ability to bring things to fruition, to give them substance (as when Jesus Christ was physically born and died--on The Cross of Matter, the first death). Actualizing one's potential (ex: materialism that leads to financial wealth, success), moving and taking action, and getting things done are keynotes of Acrux.

And we know that, "Fixed stars work through eclipses." (The Book of the Eclipse, Ovason.)

So if we add to a study using fixed stars an intriguing and highly flawed individual like Donald Trump we have a sensational story fit for novelists whom no one would believe if they read them. His natal Uranus in Gemini (he behaves like a Gemini and in fact, is one with natal Sun there) leads all his natal planets from his 10th house of Career. Meanwhile, America's natal 'totem planet' of revolution, Uranus @8Gem55, was activated in 1946 by Mr. Trump's Prenatal Solar Eclipse when it occurred May 30, 1946 @9Gemini in the 2 Old North Saros Series.

2 Old North's difficult themes include: unfortunate news concerning friendships and/or other relationships, endings of unions, separation issues, and action regarding personal relationships (Predictive Astrology, Brady).

2 Old North last manifested on July 1, 2000 @10Can15 and will repeat on July 13, 2018 @21Cancer during the second year of the presidency of Donald Trump. We may expect 2 Old North themes of separation and endings to express for and through him around that time (whether he still acts as president or not).

Uranian Donald Trump's Prenatal Solar Eclipse = US Natal Uranus: Sudden Conflicts

It's always instructive to look at the initial eclipse of a series--for Mr. Trump (born June 14, 1946) his 2 Old North series began manifesting @5Can49 (conjunct the future degree of US natal Jupiter!) on June 24, 0792 (OS) giving all subsequent interpretations a lunar cast. 2 Old North ends with a last solar hurrah on July 23, 2036 @29Leo, the same degree as The Great American Eclipse which will be visible from Oregon to South Carolina on August 21, 2017 @29Leo (horoscope linked, below).

The August 21, 2017 eclipse is personally significant for Mr. Trump (and thus for America) for it conjoins (or activates or eclipses) his natal Ascendant and is squished between his rising Mars (26Leo) and Ascendant (29Leo), with royal star Regulus in the mix. Curiously, Trump's Secondary Progressed (and Solar Arc) Sun, originally in Gemini, has recently and symbolically left Leo and entered Virgo--and the precessed position of Regulus is now @00Virgo+ which hints that Regulus is his 'essence' and 'objective' at age 70--if we were to use fixed stars in Progressions! Personally, I think timing issues may be seen through them but use of stars in Progressions is your choice and is frowned upon by astrological tradition.

America Affected

Yet how tragic for America if our nation in need of a competent president and civilian Commander-in-Chief partakes too freely of the archetypal theater in Mr. Trump's life at age 70, that of Regulus reflecting upon him the fatal flaw inherent in this most royal of stars: success if revenge is avoided. For coupled with his aggressive warrior Mars (in proud Leo, the lion), Regulus, star of power and success, gives an ability to lead, yes, but if one takes revenge any greatness will suffer an "eclipse" and consequently bring a "fall from grace."

Such is the potential of Mr. Donald J. Trump. If he manages to avoid the negative caution that attaches to Regulus he may be the first yet considering his petty, perverse, retaliatory, tweeting and insinuating nature, it isn't likely that he can avoid the ultimate consequences of failure though it may seem so for a while. After all, while playing the presidential role, there are many people both hidden and otherwise who continually 'prop him up' in spite of what could, should, or by all rights will, bring him down from high office and plunk him into the shadows.

And America with him.

American Democracy targeted in 1971!

Statism + Corporatism = Fascism. And with the third of three total Great American Eclipses approaching on April 8, 2024, this one falling within the 8 North Saros Series, Year 2024 marks a critical turning point for the United States of America, and thus for the rest of the world. For with democracy on the ballot, brutal fascism demands a do-over of the mayhem, death, and suffering its perpetrators brought upon the world in the days of Mussol*ni and Hitl*r, malignant narcissistic psychopaths as they both were.

Now in our time, another malignant narcissistic psychopath raises his Medusa head and will cheat to steal our votes. But will American voters help him in November 2024 by being that self-destructive and stupid--that eager to toss away any decent future for their children? Has empathy been deleted from the heart of America? Despite all obstacles, will a Blue Tsunami wave of voters on November 5, 2024 save our country from the barbarian onslaught that threatens us? Because that's the sizeable response it will take to push back the bullies and send them packing.

So one reason for this particular fuss is to mention that the Powell Memo of August 23, 1971 was an initiating factor in a Republican-led declaration of war on democracy by the corporate class. From Buzzfeed News posted January 6, 2017 came an article by Anne Helen Petersen Donald Trump Showed His Hand in 1999, But No One Was Looking concerning a couple of favorable polls in 1999 - one poll by the National Enquirer if that tells us anything. The article contains a list a few major events for Trump in 1999.

Such as: he finalized his divorce from 2nd wife Marla Maples and began dating Slovenian model Melania Knauss, he gloried in a rejuvenation of the Miss USA pageant, he floated the idea of starting a modeling agency, Big Donnie fought a coalition of Upper West Side residents including Walter Cronkite, Paul Newman, and Kofi Annan over the contruction of a huge tower near the UN building, and he "spent months flirting with a run for president."

To quote Trump in 1999, "If the Reform Party nominated me, I'd probably win. And if I did, I would ask for an immediate recount." Such a jokester! However, ongoing opinions on the street at the time included, "Trump makes things happen," and "he's at home with the guy on the street." (They're so fleeceable: he loves the uneducated, he says.) Now these are the same delusional sentiments that were expressed during the 2016 campaign! But this time is different: he's running again, but trying to avoid prison by regrasping power, and itching to make Fascism happen in America so that he can take revenge on all his enemies, please his bosses, and stay in office until he keels over.

And that, ladies and gents, is America's orange albatross.

Astro-Notes: Rounding up its degree, this Total eclipse of August perfects upon a critical 29th degree of Leo in the 1 North Saros Series and will conjoin the natal Ascendant of Mr. Donald Trump. A planet or point at a 29th degree of any sign is impatient, unstable, and denotes risky business, or possibly a crisis that must be resolved. Plus, it indicates a 'change of state' (A. Louis) as it struggles toward the next sign (here, Virgo, and royal Regulus, the king or kingmaker: success if revenge is avoided). Fixed stars 'work' through critical or sensitive degrees and eclipses (solar or lunar) and History is affected--but the working is via individuals' charts--such as Donald Trump, in this case. Its initial eclipse occurred on January 4, 1639 @13Cap48--opposite US natal Sun @13Can19 (this time links the 1 North to the American presidency and government) so there is a Capricorn lens through which to view the Leo eclipse--not a good fit of energies (Saturn-Sun; 'conceit increases with age'!) which may trigger our US natal Sun-Saturn square, the base of a Fist of God (or Thor's Hammer) pattern that points to US natal Moon (We The People) in our nation's late-afternoon natal charts on July 4, 1776. History and Themes of the 1 North Series

Aside from recent events of the New Millennium, for previous historical events influenced by 1 North eclipses we look first to the years 1945 and 1963. 1N is the Prenatal Eclipse (PE) Series of President Truman's dropping of the first Atomic Bomb, and is PE of the assassination of John F. Kennedy and the swearing-in of LBJ (27Cancer opposes US natal Pluto Rx, planet of plutonium and destruction). 1 North themes include: great pressure on relationships looms large due to unexpected events involving groups or friends (or sons-in-law? jc); it's unwise to make hasty decisions since information is distorted and possibly false (ex: "fake news"? jc); tiredness or health problems are also potentials (paraphrasing Predictive Astrology, Bernadette Brady).

Tiredness and health problems? Is that like in Sicily yesterday when Mr. Trump opted to ride in a golf cart while the other G7 leaders walked a mere 700 hundred yards? One of my guesses is that his 70-year-old knees aren't what they used to be! Or perhaps Mr. Trump chose to putter along in a golf cart because of his Victorian-era view that Exercise Will Kill You?!

Astrology and Astronomy

Now naturally a majority of astronomers discount the astrological implications of The Great American Eclipse lest Science suffer by association. And if all the warnings of astrologers turn out to be fallacious or misdirected, we shall all be very much relieved. But considering how the amateurish Trump administration has been behaving so far and the constant undermining of his reputation by Deep State actors and others, no one needs astrological portents to forecast a very long hot summer for Donald J. Trump and his White house denizens, and what may be a lasting imprint of crisis and change that are due in August 2017, compliments of The Cosmos.

Note that there is also a Lunar Eclipse on August 7, 2017 @15AQ (horoscope set for Washington DC) with the sign's Aquarian Saturn-Uranus vibes. Lunar eclipses give insight into how people instinctively react to the karmic situations and conditions brought by the accompanying solar eclipse and since a lunar eclipse obviously involves the Moon, past behaviors and reactions, plus, inherited traits and other unconscious factors are at play.
