Bush, the comma

Ian Welsh at his Agonist Blog writes excellently on Bush's recent use of "just a comma" to describe his Iraq War and how it's part of a code to the religious right for "Never put a period where God has put a comma."

Or, for the unreligious among us, it ain't over till it's over.

Funny thing is, the original phrase came from George Burns' wife, commedienne Gracie Allen, and was adopted by the United Church of Christ in January, 2002. The UCC qualifies as a religious LEFT organization with their "God isn't finished yet" phrase co-opted by Bush speech writers. Funny/odd, isn't it?

The UCC is devoted to fighting for social justice and OPPOSES the Iraq War, so although part of Bush's "dog whistle politics" as Ian Welsh has called Bush's shout-outs to his religious right supporters, it has been something of a task this week for Bush counselor, Dan Bartlett, to defend the phrase as "a historical analysis--that these brief periods seem long and protracted now, but when you look back at them in history, they won't seem that way. He's not discounting the loss of life or the sacrifice people are making."

Seems your son's, daughter's, or spouse's deaths are just part of a very very long game for world domination. Get some global perspective, saith George, it's all good.

Noble effort, I suppose, for Mr. Bartlett, but it's a ridiculous explanation--the idea that George Bush gives a flying crap about what others have sacrificed might have been better shown by not rushing our troops into an ill-begotten war in the first place.

And, btw, neither Bush, Bartlett, nor I will be around to appreciate all the death and destruction visited upon the world by the Bush regime as a comma, a period, or a footnote. In fact, the people most closely affected by Bush's "comma" are already maimed or dead--or on their way out on a sandstorm patrol as Bush enjoys his weekend.

AND: as I've posted here and elsewhere--as have others since the neocon regime began--al-Qaeda wants Bush's "stay the course" directive to continue for their benefit as evidenced by a recently translated letter to their minions in Iraq.

Al-Q must've celebrated wildly when these jingoists couped the White House predicting what the arrogant response would be to their provocations. They set the trap to use up America's resources, and Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and the 1% Gang stepped right in--with others making the sacrifices and paying the costs--while George and his energy baron friends reap the millions.

Or should I say billions?

George, the comma, is but a blink of God's eye just as we all must be. But is he the apple?

Harvest Moon and the White House

Tonight's Harvest Moon--the first Full Moon after the Autumnal Equinox--is occurring as the Sun is in process of conjuncting US natal Saturn (Sibly.)

Sun to Saturn: issues of seniority, authority, and maturity are highlighted, and serious situations stifle the fun when Sun conjuncts Saturn. But hard work and loyalty may earn rewards or recognition, too. Guess this could describe Bush calling Hastert to buck him up to take the buck for the Foley Flap.

(Personal example: when my father passed away, Sun was conjunct my natal Saturn--to the minute.)

Note: US natal Saturn and 9/11: Mercury was conjunct US n Saturn on the morning of the 9/11 attacks restricting ideas, communications, and information. There is a seeking or using of information and skills in order to attain seniority and status. Organizaton and preparation become huge issues. (Boy, did they.)


So with tonight's Harvest Moon chart set for the White House 11:12:47 pm edt, the Rising degree (WHAT) is 6Can31 conjunct US natal Jupiter.

Now "6Can" is the "Game birds feathering their nests" degree and I'm stirring up a cauldron of tar on the hob as I type. Actually it's the same batch I've been stirring since 1999, but never mind...let's use "7Can" for the WHAT of this Harvest Moon, so named because farmers pre-electric lights could harvest their crops after sunset...and I have a distinct feeling that White House denizens are even busier than usual tonight.

This Full Moon will be extra good at draining the color from all its light touches, so the Bush term's dingy gray White House will be all the more obvious.

So perhaps Hastert Will stay in the saddle. I did find Gingrich's remarks interesting as he attempted to frame the issues--the Democrat's staging this scandal as if that's worse than Foley's actions or more heinous than the ineffectual dealing with the situation by R leaders (as they attempted the bomb safely concealed...for 3 years.)

Now it's difficult to believe a Dem or three DIDN't have something to do with the TIMING of the email/IMs unveiling (yes, Neptune at the "A man unmasked" degree) which tells me that Dems put politics over page safety, too--they ALL did. But Foley IS a REPUBLICAN, not a Democrat, as some obfuscators pretended on my teevee.

SO'W...Tuesday 10.3.06: In rewatching the Chris Wallace/Bill Clinton interview from Sunday, I am struck by the same feeling I had when Clinton was president and the Lewinsky charges within the Clinton witch hunt was ongoing: that soemthing ELSE needed attention by Washington and the officials on our payroll sworn to protect the nation. She went there to latch onto the horndog--and the GOP wagged the blue dress in our faces. Thanks for that.

But that's not all we can thank the GOP for...

If "wag the dog" was behind Clinton's holding back on more military actions and assassination orders against bin L and others, then who is afraid their own culpability in muddying the presidential waters will be held up to view in 2006?

Using Ken Starr and his legal team to investigate on and on and on---just sure they'd find Something that would toss Clinton out of office so their neocon agenda could proceed without interference...was That considered more important than fighting enemies who had already attacked US interests?

Embassies, the USS Cole, army barracks, the 1993 WTC attack...no, the GOP was more concerned with "getting" Bill Clinton. Diverting him from his presidential duties at a critical time in our history was apparently deemed less important than playing diabolical politics...win-at-any-costs and NOW the true costs are piling up.


The whole Clinton deposition on tape was set up precisely BECAUSE they had the blue dress and because they knew that human nature--and Clinton's nature as a horndog (well known)--would make lying his only option...until they hit him with the blue dress and its DNA. Besides, the million dollar investigations had yet to pan out the way they thought...trying to take down a POPULAR president.

That Monica held the dress and its memories too dear for the dry cleaners has always seemed more than a little precious to me. In a word, Puh. Give me a break. Nasty, too.

Sunday...

And for after-interview talking heads on Wallace's Show and others--to bring up "Bill's temper erupted because he's worried about his legacy"--what an easy and opaque equivocation when there's nothing left to say about the charges he leveled. Play to your GOP constituents who'll believe ANYthing about the devil you've spent years setting up as if Clinton is any worse than your own side of the "aisle."

Ok, I'll hush up now about Clinton--I've been wanting to post this since Sunday morning and I feel better already. But who needs al-Qaeda when we've got Bush, Frist, and the rest opening their propaganda-catapultin' fear-mongering traps--
and hearing them, I feel nasty all over again.

Condoleeza Rice says that it "kind of doesn't ring true that you have to shock me into something I was very involved in." In Shannon, Ireland today she denied being told by George Tenet and Cofer Black on July 10, 2002, that they were very very worried about al-Qaida's determination to strike inside the U.S.

Bob Woodward is saying there is more to come out on these issues besides what's in his book, State of Denial.

Aside from Condi's extreme duh quality of what must have been quite a hastily called meeting between the three, she remains determined to strike a note of support for her man, George Bush.

There were many warnings reaching her from various sources--how many should it have taken before her bubble was pierced with understanding? Or did she/they--as conspiracy theorists believe--welcome the strike to justify their own war intentions?

Looking at the transits for July 10, 2001, it's interesting to see that the Sun was conjunct Rice's natal Moon 18 Cancer--Cancer, sign fof the mother and concerned with nourishment and security. Security. Her reigning need (Moon) is for Security, and the Sun was highlighting these issues for Condi that day. But it seems her mind was on chickens or something...

"18 Cancer": "A hen scratching the ground to find nourishment for her progeny."

Keyword: FULFILLING LIFE'S RESPONSIBILITIES (oops--kind of doesn't ring true that she was "very involved")...

UPDATE Tuesday 6:30 pm: Despite Pressure, Hastert Won't Resign because Bush is standing by yet another of his men and it's having an effect.

Apparently more of an effect than Foley's Instant Messages pining for goodnight kisses from boys, and invitations to under-age teens to come to his Capitol Hill townhouse "for a few drinks."

Lawyers are saying now that Foley was molested when he was younger. Yeah, that gets passed on, doesn't it?

In a letter, the Christian Coalition is "standing behind" Hastert, Bush is standing by him, and as Jon Stewart might call it, there are "reach arounds" enough for all.

Such is Washington. #

Ten months after the Republican leadership was apprised of Foley's tendencies, it hits the news. Is this a reverse-October Surprise to take heat off other issues and to try to manage this hot-potato scandal?

Well, Hastert and pals have been sitting on it for months--not that they haven't been dreamily wishing it could be kept quiet (guess Karl said, no)...and the safety of interns and pages be dam-ed in the meantime.

Today Hastert announced a "hotline" (unfortunate choice of word?) for pages (and interns?) to call in their own problems with Capitol Hill predators--I'm assuming they mean to out ANY DC politician who's got pedophilic leanings. Hope that doesn't result in a DELUGE (a Neptunian word) of calls and complaints.

At least when Lewinsky went to Washington, it was with the express purpose of attaching herself to Bill Clinton--which pales, imho, to this unearthing of perversions. Brings a similar scandal to mind which was better managed during Bush Sr's White house tenure, doesn't it?

Rs and Ds: what are they thinking?

Here are both the Republican and the Democratic Parties' Minor Progressed charts for today, Minor being the mental/causal plane of existence. What are they thinking with their legislative rubberstamping of Bush's power grabbing, torturing, and indefinite detention of combatants--AND of American citizens?


First this from Media Matters...please read if you haven't, and then we'll consider the Minors' midpoint pictures and Sabian Symbols--as bodies clog the sewers of Bush's Iraq:


The Senate just passed by a vote of 65-34 a bill that, among other things, allows the president to imprison forever, without trial, your neighbor's son -- a lawful permanent resident in the United States -- for emailing his Muslim roommate who went home to visit his family. Your daughter who organizes a protest at the Pentagon that gets a little more attention than the president thinks it should could become a detainee, held indefinitely. The bill says generally what activities qualify one as an "unlawful enemy combatant" subject to detention, but if the government can postpone that review indefinitely, who's going to tell the president that detention is illegal?

Think we're exaggerating? Think the bill goes after only terrorists or people who support them? Think again. The president is expected to sign it imminently. If you just read news reports, you won't have any idea how far this bill goes. Read it. Yes, it's too late to do anything, aside from letting your representatives know what they have done. They and the media have failed you. Read it. #

this is one of my reasons for thinking that our politicians--and our next president--will again be installed by the powers-that-be--the globalists pulling th strings and seeing to it that our elections are nothing more than charades and shams--more political theater, Dahling, with its illusary "Rs vs Ds"--designed to divide and conquer the electorate.

The American people coming out IN FORCE will be the only way we'll get any relief from these ruthless crooks who continue feathering their nests at our and the world's expense. Are you game for putting these gamebirds back a pace or two?

Yet WHO in their right minds can be up to the task of scooping the poop that these puppies will leave behind? Talk about a rebound president!

House passes warrantless domestic spying measure 28 Sep 2006 The House of Representatives passed a bill on Thursday that would provide congressional authorization for Dictator George W. Bush's warrantless domestic spying program but subject it to new rules [?]. The president would be permitted to order warrantless surveillance, for example, after an "armed attack," "terrorist attack" or when the president deems there is an "imminent threat." Rep. John Conyers, a Michigan Democrat, charged: "Hidden in the fine print are provisions which grant the administration authority to maintain permanent records on innocent U.S. citizens, granting the administration new authority to demand personal records without court review, and terminating any and all legal challenges to unlawful wiretapping."

Do notice the "hidden in the fine print..." part above and reread my little verse from months ago which, I've been told by someone waking up just now, that it finally makes sense concerning their former idol:

And considering the administration's record at keeping records safe from hacking and theft, I'm SURE these "permanent records on innocent US citizens" will be safe as a toad in a hidey hole.

November '06 and '08: Like flies on flypaper, we must Vote Democratic--it's our only hope. Or--we can listen to George--he's only torturing at his own whim and taking away your rights for your own good. Now go back to sleep.

As I love to remind myself--it's all theater, Dahling, all theater...and the Circus goes on the road tomorrow...will they be coming to your town? Beware Cerberus the two-headed dog would be my best advice--oh, and watch your wallet.

Paper Trail, America?

Our elections are an elaborate and costly charade--sign the petition! Pathetic that we must demand honesty from our 'government', isn't it? And yet they want to transport our (alleged) democracy all over the world while simultaneously diverting it at home.

Let America Vote and demand a paper ballot if necessary--use the Hansel and Gretel method because we can't trust these clowns.

Flight 5191 update

Lone survivor, co-pilot James Polehinke, is showing some improvement, say his doctors. Yay!

Investigators are still extracting info from the flight recorder but medical results show that No Alcohol Use by Pilots in Ky. Crash --you may read my earlier post/updates on this tragic crash here if you wish.

glitch and coup

Am I suffering from coup envy after 6 years of the Bush regime?

There seems to be a lot of it going on, first Thailand, now Shangai Leader Ousted for Corruption and after millions of Pakistanis went without electricity Sunday due to a "glitch" (pesky squirrel tripping the breaker?) in the national electricity system, Musharraf-in-America insists his own coup rumors back home are "nonsense in nonsense in nonsense." Say whaa-a-a?

Yep, Musharraf Calls Coup Rumors 'Nonsense' but perhaps he should hurry home and not dally in the USA (his heart exam turned out just swell.)

Surely his people need him after yesterday's power "glitch" and who knows? There may be another one waiting with his name on it.
