Summer 2022: Stars Over Washington's Progressed New Moon!

A Progressed New Moon Phase for SO'W Draws Nigh

The photo, below, taken with my phone may be readable for you but even if not, the point is that Stars Over Washington, now in its 17th year and gray around the muzzle, will symbolically reach a Secondary Progressed ('SP') New Moon @9Sco43 on July 15, 2022. Rounded-up to "10Scorpio," the SP New Moon's Sabian Symbol must be somehow significant though perhaps only in a timing sort of way. Here's an analysis of the symbol by Dr. Marc Edmund Jones:

"10Scorpio": "A Fellowship Supper"; "--human service on the practical side of everyday reality."

How perfect for yours truly, a Saturnian astrologer! By which is meant that I read genetic inheritance, ancestry, and DNA in horoscopes, not 'past lives.' As in, Science, facts, and realism, not unproveable Uranian theories that spin tall tales of the rebirths of historical figures such as Marie Antoinette. But that's just me. You do you! Because the way I look at it, anyone may be descended from a queen or a king - many Americans are - but each of us are born unique personages in our own right and in our own time.

Now writing and publishing SO'W during its 'dark of the moon' Balsamic Moon Phase which began on August 17, 2018 (with SP Moon @20Vir50 semi-square SP Sun 5Sco50), it always takes a while before an SP New Moon effectively, symbolically begins to cast more light. And of course the SP New Moon eventually leads to symbolic culmination and full awareness to be attained near the time of SO'W's SP Full Moon @23Tau46 (conjunct 2005 Midheaven!) which perfects on July 8, 2036.

Now naturally, I don't expect to be writing SO'W by then due to advanced age-iness, and whether a family member will continue to pay domain fees to Google to keep it Live and running will be up to them but I wouldn't expect such an effort if I were you. For one thing, unless things shift, they remain innocent about Astrology. Even so, perhaps in, or prior to, 2036, SO'W will be fondly remembered by a few readers - and probably reviled by others as a 'good riddance' if it's thought of at all!

So without further ado, here's the horoscope of SO'W's symbolic SP New Moon of July 15, 2022; make of it what you may! And follow the link, below, for a view of the October 2005 Horoscope:

My suspicion is that how well or poorly SO'W (and its author) manage to do such things will be in the eyes of the beholder (that's you!). However, I am reminded of the similarity between the reference to "common place" and my typical mention through the years in various posts and sidebar Welcome message, of using a "common good lens" to look at Politics, politicians, and societal matters. And of course, "shared experience" can relate to political practices, laws and their effects (aka, interference) upon our lives. Plus, as a "Child of the Revolution" ("30Cancer"), my efforts here are, and have always been, for the sake of America.

Yet when it comes to "naive animality," I'm uncertain what was intended so I searched for the term and discovered instead an interesting page describing the meanings of Native American Totem Animals (which may nor may not apply). So having some Native American heritage myself, I thought you might want to check out the animals. As for SO'W, its totem animal seems to be the ram since it began in 2005 with an Aries Moon (plus, the Scales of Justice: a Libra Sun). Of course, the SP New Moon in Scorpio is super obvious: the eagle! Unless a phoenix is available.

Inauguration Day 2021 and the Void-Of-Course Moon

Yes, it's true what you've heard or have noticed yourself: on Inauguration Day 2021 the Moon will be void-of-course from 3:29 am to 1:56 pm est when Luna will float into Taurus. As a representative of the public and the public mood on that day, the Moon leaves Mars-ruled Aries and enters the more stable, even placid, sign of Venus-ruled Taurus, about two hours after the swearing-in. Plus, for then-President Biden this day will contain a Moon or Lunar Return for him perfecting at 3:55:36 pm. Still, awaiting him are obstacles and delays aplenty for his Moon and for the American people - soon to be represented by Biden's Moon! - as the true extent of Trump's sabotage of US government systems (Saturn) and resources (Jupiter) are encountered by the Biden administration (Moon squares inaugural Saturn 3AQ57, then squares inaugural Jupiter 7AQ28).

So what can a void-of-course Moon portend on this asupicious Oath-taking day? Will the Presidential Oath need to be taken a second time? Will the testy Mars-Uranus Conjunction @6Tau44 (exact at 3:38 pm est) disrupt and hinder as Luna approaches? Does 'starting a new job' under a VOC Moon suggest failure or does it merely indicate the difficulties we already expect Mr. Biden to face?

My personal hope is that the VOC Moon's more positive potential for 'whatever is underway will proceed without anyone's being able to interfere' will rule the Oath-taking ceremony and the day itself. Back in 2010 when the Affordable Care Act ('Obamacare') legislation was all the Republican rage around Washington and elsewhere and the GOPers were well into their mantra of "Make Obama Fail", I posted a few astro-notes concerning the (noon) natal chart of Senator Mitch McConnell with a gracious helping of President Obama's planets tossed in for comparison's sake. Moon in Aries: I AM the People

Tomorrow morning at 10:37 am edt, a New Moon reaches perfection @ 2Ari22, and its 3 twos emphasize the principle of '2'--others, partnerships, money, dualism, and so on.

Checking the Sabian Symbols for both '2Ari' and '3Ari', let's see what themes this new cycle may entail over the next two weeks until the Full Moon brings fulfillment of something begun, or the blossoming of seeds planted, in the dark of tomorrow's New Moon especially since first zodiacal sign, Aries, is all about new starts, and the principle of I AM.

Actually, the principle is much like The Fool card in the Tarot deck as he takes a first step on a mysterious journey with its green for new growth and vistas implications. Now I can think of many fools infesting Washington DC politics at the moment, can't you? Wish they'd take a first step out of town and leave decent folk alone.

Plus, the Moon in Mundane Astrology signifies The People and The Public who are so often made fools of by political and financial liars, cheats, speculators, and crooks. Today, as Occupiers zero in on Washington DC--where 'The People's House', the White House (actually a Masonic White Lodge but who's quibbling?)--is located, Sun is in questing Sagittarius, and Moon is in Aries, a position I've referred to on this blog as the "I AM The People" Moon placement because revolutionary leader *Robespierre tended to pontificate such malarkey about himself and his Aries Moon as part of a justification for imprisoning and guillotining The People of France during The Reign of Terror (1790s.)

However! When you have thousands of Americans on behalf of the 99% of us petitioning what was once our government as Occupiers now do, it's okay by me to say, "I AM The People" when the Occupying Moon is in Mars-ruled Aries!

Sun Sag-Moon Aries is a volatile and dramatic Fire-Fire blend giving today's energies a boost of passion through expression of deeply held beliefs. The combo may show such an abundance of enthusiasm that others may be disregarded or scattered in the process.

As you know, Sagittarius is ruled by expansive Jupiter so there's a me-only Sun/Jupiter link which on its highest level works on behalf of The Collective and can easily see the broader picture. Meanwhile, Moon in me-first Aries may narrow the view of the many to a level of self-interest. Thinking of Tucson as Left Blames Right, Right Blames Left

On C-SPAN just now, neoconner Bill Kristol just asked if Palin isn't responsible for the violence in Tucson on Saturday (better her blamed than him, I guess.) Now he's defending George Bush and the 'attacks' on Bush while he was president for "consciously" lying and getting people killed (in his wars - his, Cheney's, and Kristol's.) As if the whole thing weren't planned all along with ginned up intell and propaganda doing the trick to lie us into war again. One has to assume that war planners have to know that soldiers sent to fight will be maimed and killed.

Kristol is accepting questions now and he's certain to have some interesting views on such topics. He just compared Paul Krugman (who criticized Sarah Palin over Tucson which is what Kristol just did but more mildly) to Joseph McCarthy! The old McCarthyism propaganda!! Pardon me, I need another cup of tea just to listen to this dribble, with several inches of snow and ice outside and still falling which makes a cuppa a double necessity.

Makes me wonder who thought Bill Kristol was an appropriate guest for C-SPAN this morning on the topic of political hate speech leading to violence, no less. Perhaps at Kristol's level of power, he decided to do the show to fend off criticism of his father's neocon movement.

After the 11:00 am Moment of Silence at the White House and Capitol Building a few minutes ago, it seems of interest to me to provide you with a link to a post on the Tax Day Tea Party of April 15, 2009, the "New American Revolution" as bull's-eye-loving Dick Armey, Sarah Palin, and others so raucously term it.

After Saturday's shootings in Tucson, this particular peacenik's prayer is that the revolution hasn't begun violently - the pen really is mightier than the sword. Yes, it seems an obvious and honorable thing to have a brief ceremony in Washington today in honor of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and the other victims yet I have to say it: seeing President Obama and the First Lady standing there in silence, heads lowered, cameras clicking away, looked and felt more like a photo op than anything else. Sorry. My big mouth.

And it remains to be seen how Saturday's tragedy in Tucson will lead to more security tightening in America when, imho, it's gun control laws that concern guns purchased with no background checks and guns with repeating rounds - pardon, but I don't know what they're called) that need improving along with the US government coming clean about its role in shoving the backs of the American people against the wall from where they know we'll eventually explode.

(The gun Loughner used in Tucson was purchased with an "instant background check", not that anything criminal would have shown up on him which points to our pathetic mental health system letting society down, another of my soap boxes of grumpiness.)

The GOP take-over or funding of certain Tea Party groups has shown how this dynamic can be ramped up while pretending to care about better governing. (I don't refer to Tea Party rank and file members - I mean manipulators like Mr. Koch, Mr. Armey, Mr. Beck, Mrs. Palin, and who knows who else.)

Perhaps you remember that Congress went into secret session in March 2008 to discuss their security needs and where they'd all hunker down when the depth of the financial crisis became clear which it did a few months later. (And they're acting similarly this week to discuss their own security concerns! Seems a given to me that "why do they hate us?" will be purposely misinterpreted after Tucson just as it was after 9/11/01 - in order to bolster the creation of a police state in America.)

The secret session was the meeting where all members' phones had to be surrendered at the door, and any details of the meeting's occurrence came to the public through Rep. Ron Paul who did not attend (congressional sessions are supposed to be public, not private. He said he'd attended such a meeting during his earlier days in Congress; the time of the chart you see below is from his remarks.)

Now perhaps you think Congress' rare closed-door session in 2008 can have nothing to do with our current tragedy and the steps our government will be taking in order to protect congressional members, staff, and other officials from public wrath as the US gov continues implementing globalist draconian policies meant to collapse this nation and our lives with it.

But I think it does.

If for no other reason than what Franklin Roosevelt so famously informed us: "In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it happens, you can bet it was planned that way."

Now the Thom Hartmann Show is on TV and Thom reports that Tucson shooter Loughner may have had a link to 'the American Renaissance', a white supremacist, anti-government group. Perhaps he did - or is this planted info to deflect attention from neocon win-at-any-costers like Bill Kristol? Mr. Hartmann wouldn't do that, but right-wing political propagandists would.

So now The Right is putting out a message of "Democratic congresswoman shot...by a liberal"? Oops! Seems they may not have thought that one through very well and for better deflection from the consequences of their operatives' violent rhetoric, they may need to "reload".

A Harvest Moon @ Aries Point 9.23.10

If you're familiar with the Sibly version of America's natal chart (7.4.1776 5:10 pm LMT) you know that the September 23, 2010 Full Moon @ 00Aries, the Aries Point of World Manifestation, Fame, and Prominence conjoins US natal Ic, the Home and Domestic Scene point of any horoscope.

Aries is the sign of the pioneer and those who begin things, yet Ic is a point of Endings. This signifies a new element coming into our country, perhaps immigrants moving in or Americans on the move or protesting. This Moon is made more significant because it perfects so soon after Autumn Equinox 2010. VA Tech and the Moon

After grieving yesterday and Monday, yes, k.c., I have been looking at charts for Monday's violence with its Mars/Uranus = NN lining up, and Mars in Pisces (he was apparently on meds for depression--look out drug-makers) being squared by Venus in Gemini--and Venus conjunct asteroid Midas.

Venus in Gemini--two women--or the duplicitous woman? Money-mad Midas and Venus were in the 2nd house of Money when the violence began.

Mars/Uranus = NN: sudden events shared with others; execution of extraordinary and unusual enterprises; hyperexcitability.

Tr NN is conjunct Fixed Star, Achernar, risk of rapid endings...and this configuration isn't perfected yet.

The midpoint itself...Mars/Uranus = urge for freedom; suddenly available energy application; a test of nerves; dominant will; tremendous urge to action.

Just after 7:15 am on Monday, the midpoint of oppressive Pluto/Chiron was at MC. What concerns me now is that at 7:51 am that day, the Moon reached 12 Aries and beyond:

"13Ari": "A bomb, now safely concealed, fails to explode" which speaks of the infinite capacity of the world to absorb and nullify the destructive acts of man.

Keyword: IMPETUOUSNESS...

pos: a dramatic rejection of any accomplishment falling at all short of very deep or hallowed purpose;

neg: a waste of opportunity and a futile expenditure of self through vanity or petulence.

After hearing that the school had been receiving bomb threats before Monday, I don't like mentioning the Moon's degree esp considering that Cho's whereabouts between the two shootings are unknown and hopefully being retraced successfully now. Are they considering the possibility of bombs being tucked away?

Cho's actions were a "dramatic rejection" of the values of the school, the faculty, and the students and of the hallowed purpose which schools attempt to instill in their students.

But for some kids the hyposcrisy rings hollow rather than hallowed. How sad that no one listened to the warnings about this young man.

This evening I have two reasons to be miffed--Congress begins debating the escalation of Bush/Cheney's war Tuesday, not today as reported and posted upon below--and there've been too many requests for Stern's natal chart to ignore.

This is Stars Over Washington, not Stars Over Hollywood...Howard's not a politician, and he isn't Starr Jones--but he is a lawyer.

Please click chart to enlarge where you'll see some notes on this Jupiterian fellow...Jupiter relating to the Law, of course, and also to the guru...and to the extent that he could be with such a "my way" kinda gal as Anna Nicole, one might call him a guru if not a svengali of sorts.

Scribbled on his chart (solar/sunrise--no birth time known) you'll see a very strong midpoint picture which remains the same no matter his birth time...Mars/Pluto = Uranus:

chip on one's shoulder; fight first, talk later; dangerous sense of attack; tremendous energy--that's from Noel Tyl's Solar Arc Directory. Ebertin gives the combo a nasty twist: cruelty; violence; brutality; sudden disasters or calamities of great consequence.

Stern's Pre-natal Eclipse Series (PE) is listed on the chart as well: 6South: forceful, taking power; manic force esp in relationships. Degree? 29Vir30, the Moon's degree at their motel check-in, Feb 5, 8:00 pm, Hollywood, FL...Moon 29Vir23, with "29" being a critical or crisis degree.

Now I'm not saying he did anything against her--other than that someone should've gotten her better help for her debilitating depression over loss of her son, Daniel--but Stern has other indications of violence in his natal chart (ex: Mars conj Uranus--plus Mars/Uranus = South Node), yet it's possible that Mr. Stern was attempting to take control of that very thing--and get her to rein herself in.

But with Anna, that was seldom if ever possible, and the brutality of the Mars/Uranus duo is known as the most violent pair around--conj South Node he may have tended to fall back on Mars/Uranus when under stress. And Mars-Uranus is often quirky sexual tendencies as well.

The 'check-in' chart of Feb 5, 8:00 pm, Hollywood, FL, shows a seeking of new contacts or stimuli, and a possible love union of short duration. One inconvenient thing about astrology charts though is that they rarely tell you on whose part, but describe the atmosphere or environment...leaving the people in that environment to act as their free will allows.

The check-in chart also has a telling asteroid rising to the degree...Persephone 12Vir29Rx...keywords: separation anxiety; attitudes toward transitions which take one away from familiar people or circumstances. Persephone may also be where one is an innocent yet willing victim. Poor Anna.

After taking a second look at Anna's natal chart (scroll below) there may have been--or eventually would have been--health factors showing liver or gall bladder problems. Her rapid and excessive weight loss may have improved her health--or not, as it seems. If she was on Phen-Phen to keep her weight down, a heart attack (with vomiting) could have been on the miserable agenda as well.

Anna's well-known speech-slurring--which she had put down to her Texas accent--is another reminder of Marilyn Monroe, who was being prescribed a certain Rx which was actually for epilepsy--and gave her that sleeplessness, and the soft speech she was known for. Was she epileptic? Hmm.m.m...

Did Anna check-in with plans to check herself on out? Possibly.

But Back to Mr. Stern:

Howard's fiery, big-talking *Sun Sag-Moon Aries personality blend gives a kinder picture of him than the above comments might indicate...a plain-speaking, independent, warm-hearted extrovert with a childlike faith in himself which may make him seem more competitive than he really is. But even in competition, he has respect for his opponent.

As a natural egotist, he doesn't like to acknowledge things that are unflattering, and he walks a fine line between altruism and blatant self-interest. People trust him yet his own interests are never far from his mind. But intimate liasons are not his forte...he's romantic enough but isn't patient or willing to listen fully to other people's needs...details are not his strong suit.

He likes the freedom to 'do his own thing' as well, and can lapse into black moods when things go wrong...and life with Anna had been going very wrong, hadn't it? It couldn't have been easy for any of them.

Well, that's all I'd like to say about Howard K. Stern at this time--and hopefully there'll be no more to say as this sad investigation goes on.
