Election 2024, DeSantis, and Vatican II

If you've read the Wikipedia page concerning Ron DeSantis you know quite a few details about the 2024 presidential hopeful. Having posted previously that the Election 2024 planets weren't all that encouraging for him, this post is intended to somewhat amend that opinion. One major transit that gave me pause about a victory for DeSantis is tr Pluto opposing his natal Jupiter (@1Le043), not always a beneficial condition for political or financial activities due to powerful external challenges. However, November 2024 Mars in Leo, sign of natural leadership, will conjunct his Jupiter suggesting an expanded or exaggerated part to play in events.

In other words, Election Day 2024's forceful, even brutal, Mars-Pluto opposition contains the natal Jupiter of Ron DeSantis which obviously can have military implications (or militia?), and/or suggests potentials such as: good outcomes when using extreme measures (M. Munkasey), and/or usual success (R. Ebertin). Not potentials I had hoped for previously, but there it is.

So below you see a bi-wheel of horoscopes:

Inner is the November 5, Election Day 2024 chart, timed by the day's Moon reaching 00Cap00:00 (Capricorn, sign of government, law, and business) at 10:17:17 am EST, surrounded by a 'noon' natal chart for Ron DeSantis, born 14th of September 1978 in Jacksonville, Florida. Prominent planetary contacts are circled, plus two significant natal midpoints are Angular in the November 2024 Lunar-timed horocope of the presidential election: n Mars-Pluto = MC, and his n Moon-Venus = Ascendant (these midpoint pictures are only speculative so consider them gingerly).

Also note that in his natal chart, DeSantis' Pluto @15Lib36 conjuncts one of the power asteroids, Hidalgo (the social climber), and as you see, his Pluto conjuncts 2024 Midheaven ('MC" = The Goal: power, control, wealth). Meanwhile, 2024 Sun conjuncts his Uranus (@13Scorpio, and ruthless in Scorpio) and, as noted, 2024 Mars @00Leo29 conjuncts his natal Jupiter which opposes US Inaugural Sun (@00AQ+ with transit Pluto conjunct it: dictatorship?). This planetary pile-up makes for a powerful Sun-Mars-Jupiter-Pluto connection for a politician I suspect is a social climber determined to rule the roost (see 'Sun Sco-Moon Cap' notes penned on the chart, upper left, which include Puritanism). Other planetary contacts are noteworthy but I must depend on you, dear reader, to find them.

Now previously, we've discussed the Sun Virgo-Moon Aquarius personality blend of Ron DeSantis, if you'd care for a look. This pragmatic combination of conscious-unconscious energies tends to turn "dry as dust" and become stuck in cost-effective mode, you know (Sun Sign-Moon Sign, by Charles and Suzi Harvey #ad).

Now since no accurate birth hour for Governor DeSantis is known, you may also wish to check out a page concerning Ron DeSantis' time of birth with Libra rising. His chart has been rectified via events such as his marriage and past election wins, plus, the deaths of his grandparents. No, I've not gone through these timings myself, but I link to the page of persuasive potentials for the curious reader.

Now in closing, below is another bi-wheel of Horoscopes with Vatican II (October 13, 1962, historically timed) inside surrounded by an 8:00 am est Election Day 2024 chart (which could also be set for Rome, Italy if you prefer). However, the outer Election Day chart is set for the US since Election 2024 will happen here - but with possible foreign interference. And no, I don't know if Ron DeSantis is of the Roman Catholic persuasion because that info seems to be missing from his online biographical details. If anyone has that tidbit about him, please let me know in a comment left with this post.

October 15, 2019: Democratic Debate Number 4

October 10, 2019: the upcoming 2020 Democratic Debate is scheduled for Tuesday October 15, 2019 at 8:00 pm edt and will be hosted by CNN's Anderson Cooper and Erin Burnett, plus, the National Editor of the NYT, Marc Lacey. Predictably, this 4th debate is billed as another "showdown" between former VP Joe Biden and Senator Elizabeth Warren with 10 other Democratic candidates flanking them onstage. Whether Biden and Warren will fuss'n'tussle as The Media so desires remains to be seen. Why, you'd think the networks and the press make money off the debate's entertainment value, or something, though I do agree it's primarily a performance of America's Political Theater. However, the cosmic weather of the debate's Sun Libra-Moon Taurus combo of energies, with both signs ruled by Venus, suggests that cooperation between the candidates is more likely to be shown than competitiveness, and we may hear the assertion that everyone has the right to health, wealth, and education.

The full line-up of political performers on October 15th consists of Gabbard, Steyer, Booker, Harris, Sanders, (Biden, Warren), Buttigieg, Yang, O'Rourke, Klobuchar, and Castro and will be held at Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio where they 'serve the common good' (then it's my kinda place!).

So with the October 15th debate's North Node of future direction @11Can43 in the 3rd house of Communications (8:00 pm Westerville, OH) we can round up to '12 Cancer' which spotlights a certain Sabian Symbol: "A Chinese Woman Nursing a Baby with a Message". You see my artful depiction of this symbol, above left, but its display is not intended as a shout-out to Chinese interference of any kind!

Meanwhile, Venus @9Sco03 in 6th house with debating planet Mercury is chart-ruler because ascending at 8:00 pm is 19Tau12 with the Moon (the public) rising @16Tau12 (it's a "Swords vs Torches' affair!). Chart ruler Venus makes no Ptolemaic aspects to other debate planets but she does trine the North Node of public contacts and future direction, as noted. Will a female be the Democratic nominee or someone's VP pick? Obviously, there is a beneficial feminine touch to the proceedings yet it's the 6th house Mars @7Lib37 which leads a ruthless Locomotive shape of planets toward success and Mars suggests males or a male, and US military and/or civil service issues (such as whistle blowers?! Trump's troop withdrawals for the sake of Russia's ambitions?).

And as you know, health can also be a factor when the 6th house is involved and we think of Senator Sanders' recent heart procedure which casts doubt upon his continuing stamina. Here's hoping Bernie is feeling fine now with his medical problem taken care of.

Yet perhaps the most obvious planetary stand-out in the October 15th horoscope is the rising Moon in Taurus opposing the setting Mercury in Scorpio which paints an appropriate cosmic picture of the 4th debate itself (Taurus-Scorpio issues) and suggests that someone's progress is blocked or frustrated, conflicts flare, ideas and opinions (Mercury) are confronted (opposition), and things that don't run very smoothly. Any, all, or none of these head vs heart potentials may involve the younger (Mercury) candidates challenging the female (Moon) candidates but may also represent a public (Moon) challenged by the ideas and policies (Mercury) of any or some of the Democratic candidates in this debate. Consequently, indecision can be one of the results of the Moon-Mercury opposition which implicates both economic and domestic issues--and lively debates.

We might also note that 4th debate Mars conjoins powerful asteroid Hidalgo which hints at social climbing and may possibly denote Julian Castro. To close, there are only two midpoint pictures in the 4th debate horoscope and both involve planet of The Masses and the Mass Media, Neptune:

Assertive Uranus-MC = Neptune: expecting recognition, and withdrawal if frustrated; and, the patient, wise, and/or inhibited pair of Saturn-ASC = Neptune: over-making a point, and arguments about strange dimensions or obscure things (Tyl). The topics of Trump's crimes, antics, bad decisions, and unsuitability for office may be included here, plus, Big T appears at other places in the chart.

Now naturally there are several more chart factors of note (ex: debate's Syzygy Moon @20Ari13 = "A Pugilist Entering the Ring" which is the degree of America's natal Chiron--an injured public will be watching the debate!) but to keep this a post not an e-book, I'll stop here and let you, dear reader, ferret out the rest!

Sept 12, 2019: Democratic Debate and some Moon Talk

Is it Moonrise at the Crossroads for America?

September 12, 2019 brings another televised Democratic debate with thankfully only 10 candidates qualified to participate. In alphabetical order they are: Joe Biden, Cory Booker, Pete Buttigieg, Julian Castro, Kamala Harris, Beto O'Rourke, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Amy Klobuchar, and Andrew Yang. Air times: 8:00 pm EDT, 7:00 pm MT, 6:00 pm CT, 5:00 pm PT, and will be broadcast live via ABC from Texas Southern University, Houston, TX. My illustration you see here is posted in a spirit of We The People's dependence on the Democratic Party, allegedly the party of the people, to heft us through to a more beneficial path--if they can and will.

As Campaign 2020 Pushes On Through 2019

So as you know, the first Democratic debates of 2019 aired over two nights on June 26 and 27, 2019 and with the Moon changing signs over the two events, we were able to 'Moon-track' them. However, with only one debate scheduled this time around we must be satisfied with a Pisces Moon to pair with a Virgo Sun. The public mood (Moon) on September 12th is a Piscean one of compassion within a sense of victim-hood, martyrdom, and suffering, and reflected and activated by the cruel, brutal administration currently in the White House.

Yet Pisces is a creative sign as well and signifies rising to the heights or plunging to the depths, an up-or-down decision (direction) which must be chosen. We know where Trump stands in that department (at the lowest point possible thanks to his regrettable lack of character--to this materialist everything is 'transactional', as you know) but where do the American people stand when it comes to Trump's hateful policies against children and others? We must wonder since, First he 'came for' their children, will ours be next?

Now hopefully we can count on such vital topics to turn up in the September 12th debate but if not, why not? For there's an awful lot to complain about with Trump in the Oval Office! Self-serving tactics and rhetoric used in order to get elected is one thing but after all, America and the entire world are under many dire threats right now so will Democrats mention on stage such problems as Trump's vicious immigration policies, his lack of climate change preparations and natural disasters, the US and global economies, etc etc--and will they offer at least a few viable solutions or ideas of how to improve conditions? Yes, Senator Elizabeth Warren "has a plan" but what do the others offer and will they share more openly on a debate stage or elsewhere? For it's mighty late days for US political candidates to keep hidden their true intentions, even ham-strung as they are once in office!

September 12, 2019: Cosmic Weather Brings Virgo-Pisces Vibes

As you know, the astrological Moon is a handy timing device and the September 12th Moon @6Pisces+ opposes the debate's previous lunation, its Syzygy Moon, a New Moon which perfected on August 30, 2019 @6Vir47 (6:37 am edt) and spotlighted the victim-savior axis of Virgo-Pisces. As you know, New Moons are a 'seeding' phase for new or developing plans and ideas and point toward culmination, fulfillment, and/or a full awareness of some kind at or near the next Full Moon (September 14, 2019 @21Pis05 2:26 pm edt). Additionally with a Full Moon, we may expect relationships to be part of this Virgo-Pisces emphasis and, similar to eclipses and disruptive planet Uranus, all lunations may suddenly reveal secrets, inconvenient facts, scandals, and/or may trigger changes of direction. You know--like when you're at a crossroad and must choose a direction--except that with Uranian vibes involved, the Cosmos may choose for you if you balk too long.

And if we consider the September 12th debate vibes of Sun Virgo-Moon Pisces we know that influences are on the Mercury-Jupiter-Neptune side (rulers of Virgo and Pisces) so that common sense with a streak of idealism and a tinge of over-promising may be noticed. Yet Earth-Water blends are perhaps the most practical of combinations and have an innate ability to understand what's truly important. (Note that we may hear a candidate say, "what's really important" during the debate--it's been used before). Plus, someone's capacity to see both the forest and the trees may also be on display.

As for the cosmic energies running in the background of the September 12th debate, its Prenatal Solar Eclipse ('PE') falls into the difficult 3 North series of July 2, 2019 @10Can37 (among America's Cancerian planets 3--14 Cancer: Venus, Jupiter, and Sun = finances, economics, and POTUS in a glaring cosmic spotlight, possibly with shocks involved).

And one more thing--debating Mercury @27Vir39, planet of voting, discussions, negotiations, communications, rhetoric, changes, commerce, thieving, etc--applies to conjunction with Venus (27:59) and asteroid Hidalgo (the social climber; someone with Latin heritage; one of the power asteroids). Note that Mercury-Venus contacts suggest pleasant communication skills (Julian?) although I don't know how 'pleasant' a political event can possibly be! Plus, if we round up the conjunction's degree to '28 Virgo' we find, "A Bald-headed Man Dominates (a) Gathering of National Figures": "Keyword: DOMINANCE...positive expression: accomplishment through a completeness of self-mastery and a rigid control of others; negative" (unconscious/shadow side--jc) "expression: a sadistic sophistication." (The Sabian Symbols in Astrology, Marc Edmund Jones).

And so I shall leave it for you, dear reader, to decide just who this symbol may describe!

Additional Note: curiously, a google of Texas Southern University turned up Judge Lina Hidalgo!. Wouldn't it be funny if her name is mentioned during or in relation to the September 12th debate?!

Horoscope: Flower Power Eclipse 1966

Enough of Trump--now for something completely different. Well, not too different for we of the Flower Power generation circa 1960s must get out and Vote on November 6th if we haven't for if the Cosmic Peace Symbol of planets in effect during the Total 4 South Solar Eclipse of November 12, 1966 @19Sco45 still has any meaning at all, hopefully we'll vote en masse for compassionate candidates and not for those who favor and promote hatred, intolerance, and violence. That's my personal hope anyway!

So here's the Flower Power Eclipse Horoscope set for--where else?--San Francisco, California:

Hour of the Moon (fluctuations, instability); chart-ruler Mars applies to three planets (see chart, lower left); violent trio of Mars-Pluto-Uranus in Virgo 10th house opposes Saturn Rx in Pisces which conjoins Wounded Healer and Blind Spot Chiron also Rx in Pisces which suggests social rigidity vs archetypal forces seeking to force their way into public consciousness. A difficult midpoint picture is formed between Mars-Uranus = Pluto (which conjoins fixed star Denebola: to go against society, or, out of the mainstream which can describe the Flower Power generation)--but also Nixon's government with potentials for the use of force, violent intervention (such as Kent State 1970), and battling against a higher power (Ebertin; Munkasey).

The most prominent planet in the eclipse chart besides the eclipse itself, is karmic Saturn in the karmic sign of Pisces for Saturn is the handle of a Sling shape--like a Bundle except the handle planet assumes great significance because the energies of all the other planets are directed toward it. And while a Bundle shape in its extreme manifestation is the archetypal signature of a ruthless dictator (Mussolini was born with it, Trump has it now via his Secondary Progressions--you can view the Bundle in his SP New Moon Horoscope of September 16, 2019). Guess that's the ruthless mindset it takes in order to cage innocent children and to order the US military to the border to shoot kids throwing pebbles and rocks--and Trump's got it. Nixon's natal horoscope shows a Locomotive shape led by Mars @29Sag44--the 'ruthless executive' pattern--while Mussolini's natal Uranus @20Vir52 conjoins Pluto in the Flower Power Eclipse chart shown here. All three men answer to the 'win-at-any-cost' model in which the ends allegedly justify the means, the use of force and violence included.

This Solar Eclipse in Scorpio sparked two fixed stars by degree (19 Scorpio). First is Alpha Serpentis, keywords: tragedy and misfortune; plus, Devore gives 19 Scorpio as "the crucial point in the struggle between the Supreme Will and the ego"; Anthony Louis notes that it is traditionally considered by some to be "an accursed degree of the accursed sign," but adds that "this is not too reliable." The second star is North Scale which contains both positive and negative potentials of 'wealth, honors, intelligence, distinction, success in religion, law, writing, war, and sports'; negatives are 'hasty words cause problems, tragedy, and violence' (Horary Astrology Plain and Simple, A. Louis).

Plus, a third star, South Scale, rises in the eclipse chart with the separative, neurotic South Node of the Moon along with Hidalgo, one of the "power" asteroids which reminds me of the era and the book The Teachings of Don Juan: A Yaqui Way of Knowledge by Carlos Castenada, published in 1968 and originally his Master thesis in Anthropology at the University of California. Even now, the debate continues as to whether Castenada 'made it all up' or actually experienced the events he describes in the book. Keywords for South Scale are 'theft, loss, betrayal' (our generation felt betrayed by The Establishment in more ways than the Vietnam War--US bombing increased in 1966), venereal disease (a dreary downside to our misguided 'free love' illusion), revenge, anguish, criminality, abuse, and/or drowning'. These potentials sound very Neptunian and Piscean, don't they?

And accompanying the eclipse is a Venus-Neptune conjunction in sexy Scorpio, a duo suggesting those who live in a beautiful world of the imagination, plus, love and adoration, goddess worship, erroneous if idealistic perceptions about love and sex (deluded love), escapes from reality--through dreams and visions--or, through drugs, pop music and psychedelic art.

Now this eclipse falls into the 4 South Saros Series, as noted above, with themes of 'strong emotional feelings about relationships and/or money with a sense of fate or karma attached' ('soul mates forever'?); 'anger or lust; relationship events that are beyond personal control' (passionate, intense Scorpio is all about control of self and others--and betrayal); 'much frustration as emotions are blocked or checked somehow; a sudden desire to end a relationship; avoid rash action until issues settle down' (paraphrasing Brady's Predictive Astrology).

A 4 South eclipse last manifested on December 4, 2002 @12Sag (conjunct US natal Ascendant) and a 4 South next occurs on December 14, 2020 @23Sag.

Additionally, any Solar Eclipse in Scorpio offers the cosmic gifts of 'probing insight' for discerning the 'root causes of karmic situations and problems' but it's up to individuals to use such knowledge for gaining karmic progress or not. However, control of the darker side of Scorpio is imperative in order to create positive outcomes from the events and conditions brought by the eclipse otherwise via Scorpio and its ruler Mars, sub-ruler Pluto, hatred, cruelty, sexual perversions, vengeance, and the primal urge for retribution can override humanity's capacity for forgiveness.

So how do you think America's Flower Power generation is managing the karmic retribution vs forgiveness imperative so far?

POTUS Sun 2017 Conjunct Icarus

Speculative Horoscope: The Discovery of Icarus June 27, 1949; exact hour unknown; Palomar Observatory California discovered by *Walter Baade. Timing the chart for 10:03:19 pm pst shows asteroid Icarus @11Sag29 Rx precisely conjunct Midheaven (11:29), the Goal Point of any horoscope.

Listed are Carelli's symbol for '11 Sagittarius' (he doesn't round up as in Sabian Symbols) - "An Ape Riding a Wolf" and the Jones version of the Sabian Symbol for '12 Sagittarius' - "A Flag That Turns Into an Eagle That Crows" which of course is a possible picture of America's natal Ascendant in the late afternoon charts on July 4, 1776 Philadelphia, PA. Of course, an eagle is a typical symbol for America (on the Great Seal, etc) and we're accustomed to much crowing over the US flag.

The discovery horoscope of Icarus is currently signiffficant because during Inauguration 2017 as Trump took the Oath of Office, the POTUS Sun (00AQ49) was unaspected (which we have discussed previously as a self-interested leader focused on his own importance and holding himself in high regard--Tierney) but conjunct asteroid Icarus. Therefore, I am relating this horoscope of Icarus to the current occupant now sitting in the Oval Office and note that he is a Jupiterian figure blended with chaotic Uranian and Mercurial trickster-esque tendencies.

As you see, expansive planet Jupiter Rx (weakened) is at a critical 29th degree in 12th house of Politics and Karma and is the handle of a Sling shape which knits together two hemispheres of the chart. As handle, Jupiter's expansive energies are the focus although its expansive activities are partially held in check when in Saturn-ruled Capricorn, the sign of law, government, and business. A Moon-Jupiter opposition suggests emotional vulnerability, lack of a sense of self-worth, the need for expert advice (seldom taken), and a tendency to give others who may not deserve it the benefit of the doubt. Jupiter quincunx reforming Uranus suggests unrealistic expectations which Mr. Trump apparently possessed before stepping into the Oval Office--one example being how "easy" he thought presidentin' would be. Who knew chairing America could be so complicated?

Now I won't fuss on about the POTUS Sun-Icarus conjunction (in force as long as Trump's term goes on) but here are the comments I added to the Icarus horoscope when I first set it up. You may find this of interest now that Mr. Trump's administration has had time to show purposeful disfunction, the sabotage of various government agencies, and his tendency to act alone and seldom in accord with others (unaspected Sun, isolated in the 10th house of the Inauguration 2017 horoscope)--and noting that Icarus didn't listen to his father's admonition, flew too high, subsequently fell, and drowned in a Neptunian sea:

'New Insights into Astrology' page 196 by Nona Gwynn Press (see my Amazon review!); Icarus discovered by Walter Baade on June 27, 1949; in Greek Mythology, Icarus was the son of master craftsman Daedalus and Naucrate, a Cretan slave. Daedalus constructed the labyrinth on Crete where the Minotaur was kept. King Minos imprisoned Daedalus and Icarus in the labyrinth, Daedalus made wings of feathers and wax, and Icarus, ignoring his father's warning, flew too close to the sun, the wings melted, and predictable results occurred.

The orbit of Icarus is between the Sun and Jupiter and it crosses the orbits of Mercury, Venus, the Earth, and Mars. Only comets go closer to the Sun. Icarus (#1566) contains the restlessness of Mercury, the sensuousness of Venus, the earthiness of Earth, and the self-assertiveness of Mars. Zane Stein gives Icarus a feeling of restriction, unrestrained exhilaration at escape which may be followed by a fall. House position shows where risks are taken (10th), and the practice of Politics is associated with Icarus via its 'rise and fall' nature. Assassination is also related to Icarus including character assassination (of Trump, now underway).

*German astronomer Walter Baade (1893--1960) worked in the US from 1931 to 1960 and with fellow astronomer Fritz Zwicky coined the terms "supernova" and "neutron star." A total of ten asteroids were discovered including Icarus, as noted above, and Hidalgo (#944) which were known as minor planets but are now called Centaurs of which Chiron is most notable.

A Curious Synchronicity: Summer 2010 and the War of 1812

With today being July 4th I've been reading about the War of 1812 which I know very little about. Fought between American patriots and British forces, the Royal Navy, and certain Native American tribes wanting a federation of their own (with British encouragement in order to limit US expansion), the War began on June 18, 1812 and ended by Britain and American signing the Treaty of Ghent. It was events of this war that inspired Francis Scott Key to pen The Star Spangled Banner, our national anthem.

And what is the curious synchronicity between the War of 1812 and the summer of 2010? Perhaps you remember another act of British aggression that occurred in Summer 2010--the Deepwater Horzozon Oil "Spill" in the Gulf of Mexico which we lay at the feet of the British Petroleum Oil Company. Or should I say, the BP Corporation? Here's my original post on BP's oil disaster which includes the Independence horoscope of Mexico and the horoscope of the Deepwater Horizon Oil Fiasco itself with power asteroid Hidalgo rising.

Both events, the start of the War on June 18, 1812 and the massive 2010 oil leak (in which Halliburton also played a major role) that attacked the US coastline occurred under the influence of Solar Eclipses in the 12 South Saros Series.

And so the theme of 12 South applies to the War of 1812 of British aggression and the BP oil attack of 2010--the first event involved France, the second involved Mexico: long term draining issues at first seem worse then suddenly clear with successful outcomes. (Brady's Predictive Astrology.) In 1812, 12S fell @22Pisces which suggests sea and naval action; in 2010 12S fell @19Cancer, another watery, oceanic hint plus 19 Cancer+ rounded up hits a difficult fixed star, Castor with its potentials for murder, loss, and/or the crippling of limbs (A. Louis). BP cut corners and people died, if you remember. And of course, the financial issue of trade lies beneath both events.

So it seems that yours truly is on Britain's case this Independence Day! And here I'm fussing against The Empire in spite of the genealogy research I've done lately into my own English roots. Could it be I fight against myself?

Horoscope: US Moon Return on Election Day 2016--We the People!

Have you seen the horoscope of our national Lunar (Moon) Return for November 8, 2016 which happens to be General Election Day 2016? Here's the chart, below. Please enlarge the image to read my messy-as-usual notes for it seems America will be hatching 'an exotic moth' that day since we already acccommodate the 'hovering hawk' of NSA total surveillance:

Venus @25Sag47 in 11th house is out of bounds (OOBs) of the earthly plane and acting according to her own unusual or possibly skewed perspectives yet is in Mutual Reception (on friendly terms) with Jupiter (Sag/Libra) which leads a planetary Locomotive of success (which could signify Mr. Trump with his Jupiter in Libra.) Is the American public feeling futuristic (AQ) enough to toss out establishment candidates? Polls have said so but November 8th is what tells the conservative vs progressive tale one more time.

In September 2008 in her Visual Astrology Newsletter, Bernadette Brady published an intriguing article titled Standing in the Radiance of Venus: A Visual Astrology view of the US presidential election and its self-imposed union with Venus using the 8-year cycle of planet Venus as a predictive guide. With the 2016 campaign season already percolating thanks to interested billionaires and an overeager corporate media industry (using it to divert from other matters), let's take a peek at Election Day November 8, 2016 and focus primarily on the position and condition of Venus who radiates the candidate and ruling party she favors with success, or empowers the challenger she favors, while appearing in her cosmic role as either Morning Star or Evening Star.

Venus Must Have Her Way

Now as Morning Star, Venus favors the incumbent candidate or ruling party (even if 2 terms--8 years--have been served by one president)--aka, the "one who wears the crown" as it was termed in the olden days of Mundane Astrology. The Morning Star status of Venus occurs in November (2nd through 8th, when presidential elections are held) when the lady is in the early degrees of Libra, one of the signs Venus rules. Since our elections are on a 4-year cycle, Venus is Evening Star in alternate elections since Venus returns to her same position every 8 years. As Evening Star her position is the mid-to-later degrees of Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius, sign of the stranger or foreigner---someone different or 'other' who acts as the challenger to the throne -- such as a non-politician, or an Independent (neither Republican nor Democrat).

But in her Evening Star role, Venus bestows favor upon the incumbent party's rival as if she's wielding influence in the court of a king and 'the crown' may be given to the opponent of the king who rules. Yet there have been two notable exceptions to this predictive guide--the successful election of Democrat Franklin Roosevelt in the election of 1932 when he whisked away 'the crown' from the head of one-term Republican Hoover, and the election of Republican Ronald Reagan in 1980 who finagled 'the crown' from one-term Democrat Jimmy Carter. Both elections occurred with Venus as Morning Star yet upsets were somehow allowed due in part to both candidates' tendencies to hastily give favors to others and/or make advantageous backroom deals (Iran hostages for Reagan; for Hoover, his tide of popularity had turned due to economics after 1929.) Let's not use the word 'cheating' though I will say that cheating isn't winning, it's stealing. Plus, a fed up American public makes a difference as well--if we show up and vote.

So setting aside the two exceptions of 1932 and 1980 while remembering that 'dirty tricks' are typically used by power elites to skew election results their way, we look ahead to a horoscope of Election Day 2016 in the form of a symbolic chart of the Dixville Notch, New Hampshire 'first vote' in America which traditionally is cast between 12:00 am and 12:01 am by the small yet representative population of Dixville Notch:

As you see, Venus @25Sag13 has sashayed past austere (conservative) Saturn in mid-Sagittarius in the 4th house of Domestic Security, the Foundation of the Matter, and she glances back as the Evening Star and radiates her favor upon conservative Saturn, planet of law, government, business--and the US Congress (lawmakers, senators, and such.) Plus, evaluating attracter Venus is disposited by political and banking planet Jupiter in 2nd house of Money and Values. Additionally, Venus and Jupiter are in a Mutual Reception of friendliness with Jupiter prominent as lead planet of a Locomotive pattern (high powered executive ability and a drive to success.) Jupiter approaches US natal Saturn (14Lib48) so we may expect a conservative slant to the proceedings on Election Day 2016 with optimist Jupiter bringing US Saturn hard work structured toward reaching goals, an increase of responsibility, a deeper awareness of needed changes, and a chance to turn ideas and ideals into reality as a long-held ambition is achieved.

For the hidden manipulator, wealthy Pluto @15Cap22 here he's posited in the 5th house of Speculation, Risk-Taking, and Creative Pursuits along with activist Mars, the warrior, @29Cap14, a critical 29th degree which has a revealing Sabian Symbol considering foreign investors set freer than ever by SCOTUS' Citizens United ruling of 2010: "Directors of a Large Firm Meet in Secret Conference." For certain they do! This could easily be seen as a reference to plutocrats, transnational bankers, and even the pope (Pluto) meddling secretly from on high and utilizing testy actor Mars to instigate his schemes to control outcomes in business, law, and government (Capricorn.) Plus, with Mercury in big business Scorpio, we know that Mars and Pluto have a lot to say about what Mercury plans to do.

Mercury: the Voter, the Ballot, and our Thinking Processes

As chart-ruler and planet of voters and ballot-casting, Mercury @23Sco10 is near the Sun (6S56) and may not see issues as objectively as needed. Mercury rises on November 8th with starry Ras Alhague with its imperative to 'create balance' so we may assume that American voters may attempt balance of our political system in our traditional way--but switching parties in the White House lest our country lean too far from 'center' after 8 years of a Democratic White House. Venus in Sagittarius supports a change to someone 'different' though this may describe several of the varied 2016 candidates--even Donald Trump, if his nontraditional campaign style gets him all the way to November 8, 2016 (ed: Senator Bernie Sanders is also 'someone different'.) Plus, one of the asteroids of transition and change, Proserpina, is rising on the Mutable (thus, changeable) Virgoan horizon so a different style and/or political party seems to be exactly what Dixville Notch voters prefer in 2016...and the rest of America as well.

As for chart-ruler Mercury's major applying aspects, there are none but there is a square from the Moon (the public) in 6th house (Military, Police, Civil Service) in America's natal Moon sign, Aquarius. Moon-Mercury square indicates blockage between head (logic) and heart (emotions) which is a time-tested political tactic to confuse the public. This horoscope leans toward Fixed-Earth energies and we think of stubborn, possessive Taurus, sign of the Bull of Wall Street which seems to favor GOP candidates more than progressive Democrats (not that Hillary Clinton is a genuine progressive! That would be Senator Bernie Sanders), and of course, what planet rules greedy Taurus?

Even for all that, it is tempting to say that the cyclical Venus Effect on US Presidential Election 2016 must obviously favor a female victor, unless dirty tricks and arm-twisting backroom deals skew results. But as you see, Venus here plays the role of Evening Star and points toward a change of ruling party in the White House in 2016, a portent which can be satisfied by a Republican victor--and doubly so with one such as former CEO Carly Fiorina, a lady Republican and corporatist.

Yet if a Fiorina victory is too disconcerting for you (and hard to believe), there is at least one other possibility shown for "the other" to be favored by Venus in the person of Senator Marco Rubio for on November 8, 2016 the 'social ladder climber' power asteroid Hidalgo @00AQ03 conjoins the January 20, 2017 US Inaugural Sun, mundane significator of The President. This factor supports the potential for a Republican--perhaps a member of Congress--taking the White House throne in 2016 since the 'king star' Regulus @00Virgo rises and is the starry representative of the Capitol Building in L'Enfant's original plan for the construction of Washington DC's *Federal Triangle (see below.) Regulus may also signify a candidate who has held office on Capitol Hill--even VP Biden fulfills that role.

Actually, the Cycle of Venus timing 'the other' as victor in 2016 possibly may be satisfied by someone like Senator Bernie Sanders, a self-described socialist of a democratic persuasion. Is he different enough for Venus with his political views quite apart from establishment politicians--those we may call "the old guard" as denoted by status quo Saturn? Or will it take a change of political party to satisfy Lady Venus?

Update Oct 15th: after watching the Oct 13th Democratic debate, the performance of Hillary Clinton now identifies her as one who could possibly satisfy 'the other' imperative of Venus in Sagittarius as "someone different" (as pundits are saying)--the first female president of the United States. Yet I dread the Clinton baggage she'd carry for the Republicans would never shut up about it and let the issues of the American people take precedence over partisan politics. Republicans are so very very tiresome and Democrats only somewhat better for both have played large roles in the weakening of our democracy and the undermining of our Constitution.

Now if these considerations seem arbitrary or too iffy for you, perhaps it's because you know that many more events will occur between today (July 23, 2015) and Election 2016 and circumstances will change. On the cosmic list are Solar and Lunar Eclipses, and New and Full Moons which can affect matters in similar fashion to 'wild card' eclipses. Or does Astrology have nothing valuable to offer Politics as far as you're concerned?

Yet as the older of the two parties, Democrats also play Saturnian roles in US politics while playing generous Jupiter when it comes to Social Safety Net Programs, and promoting investment, development, and growth. Naturally, humankind needs the concepts of both Jupiter and Saturn to balance one another and thus, moderation is achieved. Too bad restriction and investment are so often used as cynical talking points to stall opponents' advancement while keeping any progress whatsoever from moving ahead which might benefit the American people. jc

October 2014 Eclipses: Aries Lunar/Scorpio Solar

Whether or not an outer planet can be said to be 'Lord' of an eclipse, the 'wild card' component of all eclipses is here intensified by its nearness to quirky Uranus so the typical 'expect the unexpected' caution is advised. Additionally unexpected and/or surprising events (negative and positive) occur early or later on into 2015 as spurred by this Uranian eclipse. Plus, as you know, planet Uranus, planetary emblem of freedom, independence, and revolt tends to be activated whenever America engages in war.

Besides the presence of Uranus intensifying worldwide implications of the Oct 8th Lunar Eclipse (with Moon ruling 10th house of Public Status and Wider World--and US natal Venus, Jupiter, and Sun snugged around the MC, The Goal Point), Uranus's Aquarian association with humanitarianism is another of its facets and the need for philanthropy becomes more dire as warring nations create millions more refugees and cause other forms of loss for their populations (Moon) such as for those considered by governments to be merely some of the statistical 'unintended consequences' of bombing and airstrikes, thanks to the folly of war and the depravity and corruption of governments.

We don't need Astrology to tell us that this is a no-win situation with Americans seeing brutality in her foreign enemies while they see brutality in ours. It's a major psychological projection with innocent people paying the price for psychotic behavior (the Moon's SN of 'past behavior that no longer applies to current conditions' will be conjoined soon by Uranus and sooner by the eclipse Moon @19Ari14.)

To see how things proceed, we consider the applying aspects (if any) of the horoscope's chart-ruler--here, Venus (ASC 10Lib10 with a double emphasis on degree (10 and 10) and ruler with Venus @10Lib42 rising.) That's goddess Venus of Beauty and Valuables, yes, but also of revenge and retaliation. 'She' makes two applications--one to Pluto and one to Uranus. In other words, the ongoing Cardinal Square between Uranus and Pluto (next exact square on Dec 15, 2015--#6 of 7) is triggered and a T-Square between the Venus-Uranus opposition forms a midpoint word picture with apex Pluto @11Cap03 conjunct the IC (The Drain; Endings; Separation.) The potentials are for exhibitionism (like videos of brutality), notoriety (Tyl), attacks, accusations, disruptions, and unusual obsessions (Munkasey.)

First, Venus squares Pluto (0A20) indicating that actions will receive more serious responses than expected; plans backfire and make matters even worse as rage, resentment, and passions from the past are aroused. (Whoever thought that stirring up the powder keg that is the Middle East was a good idea? 'Just say No' to ancient passions. Or, nyet, if you prefer.) And it isn't as if modern national boundaries weren't arbitrarily set up by the West, is it? It's galling is what it is--for decades.

The second applying aspect of Venus in diplomatic Libra (I wish!) is an opposition to Uranus, an aspect of break-ups and quarrels in most anyone's horoscope. On the mundane level we may expect such things as a clash of values along with prejudice and judgmental attitudes on all sides as an atmosphere of unfairness under girds the action, violence, and retaliation. The Venus-Uranus opposition is why I title this Lunar Eclipse as one of 'Clash of Values/Scapegoating' for misguided or misdirected actions are mainly what are taken and are part of the projection tendency mentioned above.

Should I mention that these planetary portents are also influencing Washington DC politicians right now? Will the American people vote the anti-government, anti-democratic usurpers and Uranian anarchists and zealots (Uranus in Aries) out of office on November 4, 2014? I hope we will. With astrological Moon ruling We the People, the Lunar Eclipse's separative, disruptive Venus-Uranus opposition may indicate such an outcome especially if women (Venus), young people, and minorities show up and vote on behalf of their best interests.

No, Democrats are far from perfect but we know what austerity and breach-of-trust behavior to expect in 2015 and beyond if Republicans gain the upper hand.

So a cosmic spotlight is here places upon an Hour of an OOBs Mars in religious quest-seeker Sagittarius so he's off on his own, away from the earthly plane--not cooperating with the other actors (planets), and 'doing his own thing'. That this may well include guns, bombs, executions, arson, destruction, and more is unfortunately expected by yours truly who would dearly love to be over-reading the situation. However, warrior Mars sits at the midpoint of Saturn and Pluto denoting violence, brutality, assaults, fanatical adherence to principles, and a need to fight for one's existence--and this describes the existential threat that Washington says the American people face as do the good people of the Middle East in our dead-end psychosis of West v East conflict.

Planetary Patterns October 8, 2014

We partially mentioned above the Sun-Moon-Pluto-MC configuration which becomes a Cardinal Grand Cross in the chart if MC is counted. But we don't have to count the MC (not a planet but a place for expression of energies) because we can replace this MC with US natal Sun (13:19) in Cancer if we dare. Then we have natal Sun (the leader)-Pluto = Moon, a picture of basic changes that effect the flow of events, fluctuations when appearing strong-willed, and/or efforts to bring aid to those in need. Pluto-MC = Moon also applies here and denotes a determination to overcomes decisiveness and to forge ahead with objectives though these may be subject to change (Uranus-ASC = MC.) Naturally, the ongoing opposition and its challenges to the President from powerful, super-wealthy Pluto is a major part of everyone's problems.

Additionally in the Lunar Eclipse chart is a Kite pattern (a modified Grand Trine) with its nose the Sun, its wings Leonine Jupiter (lead planet in a Locomotive pattern...our commander-in-chief?) and activist and soldier Mars 16Sag56, and its tail the intense, excitable Moon-Uranus conjunction. Kites add two sextiles of opportunity to the Trine along with an opposition--here, its the Full Moon Eclipse itself--though Uranus chimes in as discussed. The additional aspects within the Kite suggests that errors in judgment can be corrected since special skills are indicated. Note that the Cardinal Grand Trine is between Moon-Uranus, Mars, and Jupiter; the Sun (#POTUS) has the special skills to 'fly' this Kite of success. Unfortunately, the American public can no longer be certain just what the US government actually considers to be 'success'.

Approximately two weeks later a Solar Eclipse occurs and hits the natal Suns of the UN and of the modern New World Order--both charts are for October 24th, the UN in 1945, the NWO in 1993, year of the 'Age of Reason' planets' Great Conjunction/s at or near '18Cap': POLITICAL POWER in the Sabian Symbols. Word Picture: "The Union Jack Flies from a British Destroyer." Take from that what you may for the symbol stands for SUPERVISION in the Marc Edmund Jones version with its negative (shadow side) expression: "smug or strong-armed paternalism." And this is what Britain and other Western nations used when forming arbitrary boundaries across the Middle East and now bomb it to smithereens, and also describes the draconian surveillance and oppression they use against their own people now.

It's a Mercury Hour with Mercury Rx in the 6th house of Military-Police Service as our troops return to duty and transport and communications may perhaps be somehow disrupted or delayed (Mercury Rx.) Yes, someone is being facile with facts and numbers yet there are glitches and possible discrepancies involved as well. At least the previous Cardinal Grand Cross of titanic struggles has somewhat lifted since October 8th but I wouldn't suggest celebrating just yet!

In closing, let's briefly consider a few factors such as Jupiter the General's condition and the applying aspects of chart-ruler Mars (ASC 23Ari35)--still OOBs and with rebel Uranus and SN rising which denotes conflict, quarrels, disruptions (including the technical kind), revolution, and war as noted above. Pluto in controlling, managing Capricorn sits at MC and I doubt this picture needs any explanation since power and control are obvious desires of Mr. Hades. And the Oct 23rd Solar Eclipse in Scorpio makes his creepy opportunism only more visible in the world (MC) even though eclipses in Scorpio provide mankind with chances to advance evolutionary karma--yet Pluto is an ancient foe of anyone who doesn't knuckle under his fist. What to expect once Mars 'catches up' with Pluto? We must consider that in another post (and of course searching the topic online will yield much info for you if needed.)

So what's the karmic potential of this eclipse? Forgiveness is the key to progress!

Jupiter in Nodal Degree: a Karmic or Fated Quality (Reaping What Was Sown in the Past)

Now Jupiter @19Leo26 in 5th house of Risk-Taking continues to lead the whole group of actors in a Locomotive pattern suggesting a high-powered executive with great leadership skills. "Get on board or get left behind" is his motto and a certain ruthlessness may be in evidence especially if you see the situation as I do--a world government struggling to be implemented by global operatives which include US officials, the Pentagon, and Eastern officials, too! With our guys, their oaths of allegiance have been secretly made to what they consider a much higher authority--not the US Constitution. In America this applies to both Republicans and Democrats--you know, the corporate sell-outs and infiltrators among us. Yes, NWO engineers want us to feel that this 'order out of chaos' is fated and cannot be avoided but I don't believe it is--at least, not yet.

So! The 9th house (Foreign Lands) chart-ruler Mars makes no applying major aspects to other planets in the eclipse chart of October 23rd which makes Mars' degree, sign, house position, and houses ruled important factors as we go forward. This spotlights the 8th house with 27Sco47 on its cusp (Pres. Obama's natal MC degree) and 8th house matters including transformation, death, Corporatism, Big Business, and the occult. These potential focuses are emphasized even more since the 8th house is Scorpio's natural house in Western Astrology. In fact, when the Oct 23rd chart is set for DC, all the eclipse houses have their natural signs on its cusps and the 1st-8th house possibilities include not just death but health implications as well.

Note that one of the power asteroids, Hidalgo, conjoins this non-applying, out-of-bounds Mars which may denote fortune-hunter and social climber vibes to the archetypal warrior's quest/s, plus a little company during his sojourn of isolation.

A full 7th house of Partnerships and Open enemies seems problematic for the US--is Washington depending too heavily on what other nations will do against ISIS-ISIL? We already know that Congress gave up its power to the White House and Pentagon (war declaring power), and to international bankers (money-printing power) years ago.

Now a Solar Eclipse in the Angular 7th house highlights compromise, cooperation, teamwork, and giving one's fair share as the prominent lessons for making progress and though we all think of global alliances formed in the fight against ISIS, it's not made easy with retaliation and revenge for old wounds in the picture. That's where forgiveness should come in but what are the chances of that especially with US political conflicts ruining all that can be ruined of a president's reputation in self-interested, chest-thumping attempts to win elections and influence people?

And this self-defeating tendency in US politics is regularly and profitably used against the American people by enemies open and hidden!

With this post, Stars Over Washington passes the 2,700-post milestone and begins to reach toward 2,800 entries so let's discuss the horoscopes of May 2011's two lunations: a New Moon on Tuesday May 3, 2011 (12Tau31; seeding phase) and a Full Moon on Tuesday May 17, 2011 (26Sco13; culmination or fulfillment phase of the Sun-Moon cycle.)

Hour of Mercury 16Ari39 in 2nd house; Sun/Moon conjunct both the 3rd cusp and US Inaugural Ascendant (President's Oath of Office); transiting Midas (gold) conjoins IC (End of the Matter; The Drain) and tr Orpheus (sad songs; grief; loss of partner) joins the chorus along with US natal Uranus 8Gem55 which echoes transiting Uranus, planet of disruption and rebellion, now in US natal 4th H of Domestic Scene and Real Estate; one of the power asteroids, Hidalgo 8Sag32 Rx, is at MC, the Aspiration and Goal Point of any chart.

In 8th H is lonely, isolated Saturn 11Lib46 Rx about to pass into 7th H of Partnerships and Public Enemies; as you know, on two levels, Saturn also represents managers and the Democratic Party in a Mundane Astrology horoscope; US Saturn Return still in progress with Uranus 2Ari50 (conjunct Hermes, the Magician and Astrologer) in wide opposition to Saturn as status quo continues to battle progress and describes a primary planetary signature of the Obama administration and presidency, the Saturn/Uranus opposition.

Two midpoint pictures are rising on the Ascendant:

Mars/NN = ASC: comradeship; vigorous cooperation; Family or family ties.

Jupiter/NN = ASC: pleasant associations; finding or locating people; responding to those who have separated from the group.

Chart-ruler Saturn has a co-ruler Uranus bwo Aquarius rising; their applying aspects are not very comforting:

Saturn Square Pluto (4A24) and Uranus Square Pluto (4A32) make the repetition of their T-Square the keynote pattern and societal vibe of this New Moon chart. We've seen the mdpt picture of this difficult Cardinal T-Square before and we hear its energies expressed by events described in the news each day...

Saturn/Uranus = Pluto: brutality and violence; concealing changes to activities; ending extreme practices that hinder progress; drastic changes in a previously liberal atmosphere; a desire to overcome a difficult situation through extraordinary effort; rebellion against one's lot in life; harm through force majeure. (This T-Square remains in force in the Full Moon chart, below.

Uranus makes a helpful trine (120 degr) to MC 8Sag12 which indicates goals that are aided by Uranian genius, creativity, originality, and sudden renown; Uranus trine MC favors occupations in Science, Space, Astrology, and Technology fields.

Well, the Moon's North Node (NN) of Destiny, Future Direction, and Public Contact falls in the 10th H of Career and Public Status and it's in Sagittarius, sign of The Seeker; this NN is in 1st H of the US natal chart most often used, the Sibly version (July 4, 1776 5:10 pm LMT Philadelphia, PA) with '13Sag' rising and MC 00Lib53 - where tr Saturn 11Lib46 Rx now hangs out making accountability and responsibility our government's primary lessons.

Raising the US credit limit to keep from defaulting on our nation's debts is one of our accountability lessons. That our government has put the nation in such a pickle (with no good answers) belongs on the red ink side of the political and banking classes' ledgers, and was aided and abetted by shady, wealthy string-puller, Pluto in Capricorn, sign of the olde countrie.

Calendar Note: during the dark phase of the Moon - before the New Moon of May 3rd - there's May 1st, aka, International Workers' Day and a day of protests, demonstrations, and civil rights movements which may be seen in contentious protesting Mars and the rest of the testy Aries line-up opposing staid Saturn, planet of government, law, business, and The System.

Yes, the New Moon's Cardinal Aries energy is obvious from the line-up of Uranus, Venus, Mercury, and Mars from 1st H into 2nd H and frustrated by restrictive Saturn in Libra. And with watery Neptune now in its sign of oceanic Pisces and Chiron 4Pis51 being the first to rise (and on its way to President Obama's previously discussed Chiron Return), we may wish to consider the mdpt pictures formed which point to deceptive, fraudulent, dreamy Neptune.

The Jupiter/Pluto pair highlight Global Bankers (the US Fed, IMF, World Bank, etc), Royalty, the Pentagon, SCOTUS, Religious and Educational Leaders - and those who are capable of mounting Large-Scale Projects, plus, pacts with foreigners and criminal elements with great social influence.

The Mars/Pluto duo is more primal: our military, and the security forces aligned with them, are spotlighted, along with clandestine agencies, suppression and torture, war, weapons, chaos, the violence of zealotry...and the police state. Foggy Neptune provides a secretive mask and a smokescreen of confusion and doubt.

Jupiter/Pluto = Neptune: unclear goals in life; drawn to mystical religions and abstract ideas; confused thoughts and plans; adjusting the data; omitting key facts; working a situation into one's own format.

Mars/Pluto = Neptune: illusions about what the use of power can do; lies, flattery, or deception from others; drug-induced illusions; a weak will to proceed with unpleasant tasks; implacability or irreconcilability; cunning and deceit; disaster caused by water, gas, oil, or toxicity; a desire to harm others secretively and unobtrusively (without leaving fingerprints, a Washington DC specialty! And America's natal Mars/Neptune square adds as usual a confused or deceptive practices/motivations tone to the picture.)

With Cancer on the cusp of the 6th H and most of the self-protective, canny sign in 5th H of Creative Pursuits, Gambling, and Risk-Taking, we may expect fluctuations, changes, and new beginnings (New Moon) in both 5th and 6th house matters in May 2011 along with the Moon's ability to provide publicity in these areas along with 3rd H Communications and Travel issues and 2nd H matters of Earning Ability and Valuations stimulated by the presence of a New Moon.


May 17, 2011 Scorpio Full Moon over Washington DC


Across the Victim-Savior 6/12 axis, Full Moon 26Sco13 is in 6th H of Military and Police, Service, Work, Health, and Daily Rounds; Hour Mars 4Tau38 conjunct 12th cusp of Karma, Self-Undoing, Behind-the-Scenes, Large Institutions (Hospitals, Zoos, Congress), and Politics. As you see, since the May 3 New Moon, only Jupiter and Uranus remain in Aries for Mercury and Mars have moved on into Taurus, a sign whose shadow traits include intolerance and greed.

Sun 26Tau13 conjoins Fixed Star Algol (intense female passion and rage), which, along with nearby Capulus (intense male passion and rage), are associated with the Middle East.

Plus, Mars/ASC = Sun: a love of fighting; excitability; quarrels and mishaps; intense teamwork.

Opposite the Sun, the Sabian Symbol for the May 17, 2011 Full Moon @ '27Sco' = "A Military Band on the March." "Foolhardy self-exploitation" is the shadow side of this degree. Opposite degrees are Illumination Points, a natural facet of a Full Moon chart which always contains a relationship-or-awareness dynamic.

Sun '27Tau' = "A Squaw Selling Beads" with its shadow side = "A retreat within and an acceptance of the sterilities of life as the manifestation of selfhood." (A bad bargain! Are these sterilities the longed-for austerity enforcements touted by the GOP?)

Interestingly, President Obama's natal MC (Goals; Aspirations; the WHY? Point) falls at '28Sco' and US Inaugural Moon (we-the-people) on January 20, 2009, was positioned at 29Sco45. Since this is a Mars-Hour Full Moon chart and Scorpio has a Mars-Pluto influence, will a number of our troops return home soon at or near this culmination point? My prayer is that they pack their bags very soon and head home! (And there's "A Man Handling Baggage" vibe in the New Moon chart, above.)

Chart-ruler Mercury 2Tau03 has just entered 11th H of Groups, Associations, Hopes & Wishes; Mercury applies thrice showing how things will proceed from this Full Moon:

1. Mercury conj Mars (2A46 = two + minutes, hours, days, weeks?) indicating ideas being brought into physical manifestation, giving or receiving instructions, sales and trade activities, an urgent need to travel, and/or transport issues. Discussions involve military service, education, communications activities, and possible surgery concerns. Plus, Mercury rules 4th cusp and 5th cusp which has a critical-crisis 29th degree upon it.

2. Mercury sextile Chiron (3A12) gives mercurial minds strength and exactitude, extraordinary ability to manifest plans, and the communication skill to convey meanings and knowledge to others. (Clow.)

3. Mercury trine Pluto (5A17) indicates research and investigations paying off with satisfying results, debts or favors being repaid, lost items being found, making shrewd business decisions, and property assessments of a higher value turning up. Publishing (Pluto) by the media (Mercury) is favored under this fortuitous aspect as are nuclear concerns...perhaps there will be a break-through of good news in the ongoing Fukushima disaster in Japan as they try to contain the radiation.

Besides the same Saturn-Uranus-Pluto and Jupiter-Pluto-Neptune pictures from the New Moon chart remain in the May 17, 2011 Full Moon horoscope which provides a descriptive narrative within one picture - as always, any, all, or none may apply:

Mars/Neptune = Uranus 3Ari27 and happy in the Aquarian 11th H: life crisis; a suddenly emerging weakness; disadvantages through lack of energy, or changing energy levels (power outages? a weakened military force? Republicans manage to collapse the US economy to make Obama look bad for 2012?); unusual stamina to speed up outcomes; a noisy rebellion against aggravating visions forced by others; an unconventional approach to forcing idealism or socialism on others. Generally, the Sun-Moon combo in Politics and Business indicates these potentials: how the people's will is applied when taking a country in new directions; the international reputation of a nation; national will forcefully imposed by leadership; smears on a nation's reputation; pessimism flows through the population or lawmakers. Having power-grabbing Pluto 7Cap09 Rx (god of the criminal Underworld) conjoining the 8th cusp of the Full Moon chart may indicate mysterious forces which continue to destructure and transform America, our financial system, and traditions.

Finally, as you see, the 22AQ28 ASC of the May 3 New Moon chart (when set for Washington DC; ASC = the WHAT? Point) is at Midheaven (WHY?) of the May 17 Full Moon chart, a synchronicity linking together these two May 2011 lunations a little more closely than they might seem otherwise, and placing the New Moon's DESC (Partnerships) at the IC (Endings; HOW?) upon the very foundation of the Full Moon's culminating manifestation.

Such are the lunations of the Merry Month of May 2011 as they look from Washington DC!

There are two Solar Eclipses upcoming: June 1, 2011 @ 11 Gemini which conjoins US natal DESC of the Sibly chart and affects US natal Uranus, planet of revolt and disruption. I admire Seth's comedic talents and thought he did a great job making the Washington political and media establishments laugh at themselves - as did the President who lampooned a self-important Donald Trump (in attendance) unmercifully. But The Trump wasn't laughing.

Bailout Bill Signed into Law Oct 3, 2008

Since there's some question as to the exact time on Oct 3, Friday, that George Bush signed the massive "bailout bill" (propagandistically named the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act), a natal chart for the monstrosity is probably to be set for the neighborhood of 2:52 pm to 3:00 pm edt, White House.

Special thanks go to Monica at Astrology Mundo who had the smarts to ferret out the official time that the bill passed the House in its amended form - 1:22 pm edt - and we know from various sources that the bill was motored to the White House asap and signed appr one-and-one-half hours later - an historical record.

(If an exact signing time is known or discovered by you, dear reader, please advise!)

Interestingly, Moon (the people) while in Scorpio made her last major aspect the evening before - Oct 2, at 6:47 pm edt - a confused, illusory square with Neptune 21AQ43 Rx.

Someone's zoomin' us!

Neptune is and has been opposing Bush's natal Venus, planet of values, money, and relationships; plus, asteroid Nemesis (the unbeatable foe; divine retribution) continues loitering upon his natal Descendant, the angle of partnerships, legal affairs and open enemies.

So perhaps it is significant that the chart (upper - please click to enlarge) emphasizes '11Scorpio' by Venu$ at Midheaven, the Aspiration/Career/Public Status Point of the chart..."A Drowning Man Rescued."

One of the instructive things about viewing dual charts is seeing which, if any, planets change houses (departments of life); here we see that money-loving, luxury conscious Venus crosses an angle, the previously mentioned MC. Venus is smaller amounts of money which morphed into billions for Mr. Bush & friends in big business Scorpio.

MC passes through the "An Embassy Ball" degree, on to the "An Inventor Inventing" Sabian Symbol...next up "14Sco" = "Telephone Lineman at Work Installing New Connections." (Rudhyar.)

~You may have heard that during these performances concerning the US Treasury, Wall St, and 'Main St' Bush has taken unto himself the right to send out secret agents in disguises to follow American citizens even without any evidence of wrong-doing. A political whim or fanciful notion is enough. No word on planting of evidence.~

So what other planet changes houses? Lower chart shows us that the Sun 10Lib56 'jumps' the 9th cusp of philosophy into 8th house of debt, credit, shared resources, and large sums of money. The American people are getting ready to "share" all right and Bush's 'legacy' has certainly been plumped up, hasn't it?

Guess the last several years of plundering the public purse weren't enough for the hungry wolves as America is dismantled to make way for the new economic order...and we are witnesses to history.

So with a VOC Moon, the dirty deed was in no danger of being prevented or interfered with once the Scorpio Moon left her square with Neptune Thursday evening - Luna's next major aspect looks to me to be her conjunction with secret hand/deep pockets Pluto on Monday, Oct 6 - and Pluto nearing "The Pope Blessing the Faithful" degree, too.

If you see something prior to this aspect for the Moon, please let me know. I quite imagine this may also describe the people needing a weekend break from all the financial hubbub and bad news - Monday will arrive soon enough, si?

Now did I mention that Hidalgo, one of the power asteroids who expects to be in charge is at MC with Venus, along with Osiris, named after the Egyptian god of death and resurrection? "A Drowning Man Being Rescued" before our very eyes!

Hidalgo has links with Spain, Mexico, and with mining and production of silver, copper, gold, lead, iron, mercury, and sulphur.

Nona Gwynn Press confirms Hidalgo's connection to self-assertion as noted by Lee Lehman, and says that it has the assertiveness of Mars, the expansiveness of Jupiter, and the status-seeking of Saturn. There is some question of 'lower nobility' wishing to become 'higher nobility' as well - plus, Hidalgo is a rebel with a cause.

Moon 1Sag49 to 1:53 may reflect recent mentions of the Iraq and Aghanistan wars...'1Sag': "A Grand Army of the Republic Campfire" but here we see '2Sag': "White-Capped Waves Display the Value of Wind Over Sea." Now this Symbol seems to me to be full of a 'Venus-Neptune in Washington' flavor yet the ocean reference reminds me of the collective unconscious and the masses, whether washed or unwashed. Veus-Neptune can indicate wooliness or deception with money and values issues; ex: buying the worthless in order to give it more value.

You see, of course, the forming opposition of traditional, restrictive Saturn with progressive, freedom-loving Uranus across the money/resources axis (2/8.)

And this brings me to a mention of the final stages of 1997's Jupiter-Neptune conjunction, the cycle in which we're experiencing this speculator-engineered market meltdown with its New World Order stink.

The Great Conjunction of these two planets whose combined energies result in 'visionaries, dreamers, mystics, hypocrites, and fortune-hunters; (Ebertin) last occurred on Jan 9, 1997 at 27Cap09 - conj US natal Pluto.

Jupiter/Neptune = Pluto: far-reaching speculations; unreasonable plans; self-projection out-of-hand; major adjustment of life circumstances (Tyl.)

But there's another midpoint picture found in the Jupiter/Neptune Conj chart - one that is most descriptive of what we're experiencing in this, the final throes of their current cycle before 2009's three conjunctions (May 27 26AQ29; July 10 26AQ02; Dec 21 24Aq18 - all of which play with America's natal Moon, the people).

Saturn/Pluto = Uranus 3AQ44: brutal efforts to start a new order; an attack, regardless of potential losses; an ability to make sudden decisions in the most difficult situations; acts of violence.

You may notice that Uranus is conj 2009's Inaugural Jupiter which links the 1997 Jup/Nep cycle with Jan 20, 2009's Inauguration in an expansive Jupiterian way...

Sat/Pluto = Jupiter: religious and social fanaticism; simplicity; self-sacrifice; difficulties caused through illness; trouble with authority; adoption of the austere; staying out of trouble; trying to save what's left.

And in 2008's bailout bill chart/s the Moon is involved in a midpoint picture as well with the controlling Saturn/NN combo which has a 'shocking event' and 'alms-house' influence (Ebertin)...

Saturn/NN = Moon: feeling alone in life; a widow or an orphan; appealing to senior persons; qualifying for responsibility.

Plus, 1997's Jup/Nep Conj occurred about 7 hours after a New Moon 18Cap57 (Jan 8, 1997), which is the rising degree in the 2:52 pm bailout bill signing chart as you see above and leading to 20Cap by 3:00 pm. '20Can/Cap' are critical or crisis degrees.

Crisis is the word of the day replacing change as Washington's political mantra.

But somehow 'crisis you can believe in' doesn't convince me that the financial meltdown wasn't planned years ago for springing upon us now - just in time for the next cycle of Jupiter and Neptune...

Jup/Nep = US natal Moon: going with the wind; desire to dream; little sense of reality; becoming involved in speculation.

On behalf of the too-trusting American people, and considering this crowd of speculators and large-scale organisers in Washington, NY, and the fortresses of Europe, I don't think we've been given any choice but to become 'involved' with fortune-hunters, bandits, thieves, and plutocrats.

Dark Wraithiness and the Favoring Moon

Have you visited the Dark Wraith Forums since Blogger was left behind in a swirl of dust for a new platform?

Discussion topics range from economics and finance, politics, and other scholarly and practical subjects of interest, and the blog is definitely lookin' good! (And it wasn't ugly before.)

As I moseyed around there this evening my eyes lighted upon the link of a blog completely new to me and one whose title I would naturally notice: The Moon's Favors which is worth your perusal as well.

Well-organized as I wish SO'W could be but for the tech-challenged brain and the dial-up-only-option of yours truly, this blog sports the ACLU's button for Find Habeas where we may remind ourselves that Habeas Corpus went missing without a trace on Oct 17, 2006, Washington, DC--and hasn't been seen since. Not a peep.

Now I've been known to watch the tv program Without a Trace where some episodes end with a found missing person, some sadly don't.

This little Habeas fellow must be found for your sake and mine--for America's sake, so see if you'd like to join the search for him, or just link to the site, okay? He's been gone just over a year now and the first few hours someone goes missing are the most critical. Even the tv show admits it.


So here are a few starry clues: Habeas Corpus last seen, Oct 17, 2006; sunrise DC: 7:23:52 am edt:

Sun 23Lib57 rising with the Latin-flavored asteroid, Hidalgo, a cabalero who expects to be in charge; associated with one in power who fights for the rights of others. But in this case, Hidalgo seems to be more closely linked to one with a strong capacity for self-assertion who fights for his own principles--whether right or wrong. Fancies himself the general in all situations.

Actually sounds like Gonzales, Bush, and Cheney all wumped up together, doesn't it?

At sunrise, the Sun/Mars midpoint is pointing toward Bush's natal MC...

Sun/Mars = MC: ready to fight for one's principles; efficiency; loving one's work; success; the character of a fighter.

Plus, the Sun/MC midpoint (goal or objective) at sunrise is conjunct Bush's feisty and fussy little Virgoan Mars...

Sun/MC = Mars: strong power maneuvering in the profession; promotion and success; the urge to fulfill one's mission at all costs; making personal decisions; a powerful personality.

'Twas a Virgo Moon at sunrise so we have a finicky, holier-than-thou, socially critical Sun Lib/Moon Virgo personality blend:

Yep, the old Divide and Conquer ploy works as well as ever, doesn't it?

Meanwhile, Habeas Is Still Missing:

The mysterious disappearance of Habeas Corpus falls into the 8 South Solar Eclipse Series which began April 1, 1718 ("11Ari": "The president of the country" and that really is Cheney, with Bush as mouthpiece. "The Decider" decides on the matters which Cheney decides to send to Dubya's desk.)

The 8S Eclipse occurred on Sept 22, 2006 at critical degree 29Vir20, keywords: separation and loss; to be finished with something and feel sad at its completion; overstraining of strength may cause physical injury. (Brady, Predictive Astrology.)

Yet the sadness is all on our side, it seems.
