2027 Saturn opposes 1776 Saturn: Reckoning Time

by Jude Cowell, partisan for democracy

When by transit karmic Saturn, planet of law, order, authority, responsibility, authenticity, reality, consolidation, and restriction opposes America's 1776 Saturn exalted in Libra (@14:48:20 in 10th house in the 5:09 pm LMT chart of July 4,1776) it will be a significant influence on government and the courts. And yes, all Saturn Returns of the old man/senex and Time Lord repeat all aspects to other planets that 1776 Saturn engaged in.

These are limited to: Saturn square Sun in Cancer, sesquisquare Moon in Aquarius, opposite Chiron @20Aries, a fabulous trine with Uranus in Gemini, and a sextile with ASC (@12Sag08 at 5:09 pm LMT ). However, these aspects are not the focus of today's limited Saturn-oppo-Saturn post.

Note: Use the US Horoscope You Prefer

Now obviously, transit Saturn has opposed 1776 Saturn through the centuries on a regular basis, and correcting mistakes of the past is often a required task during such a transit if progress is to be made. Yet considering the current illegalities of the authoritarian regime's take-over of our federal government and judiciary - both Saturnian entities - along with the gross amount of denials of guilt by those responsible, the upcoming opposition horoscope, exact one time on March 15, 2027, may contain a few tidbits of useful information worth mentioning so hopefully you'll check out the horoscopes at your leisure.

1776 Saturn (inner) with 2027 Saturn Opposing (outer):

Then for a more complete picture, here's the current US Saturn Return 2010 (inner) surrounded by the Saturn Opposition Horoscope of March 15, 2027. Note that I used the horoscope of the very first Saturn Opposition to 1776 Saturn of February 9, 1792 to formulate the 2027 Saturn Opposition:

Saturn in Libra: a strong sense of duty; conscientious; reliable but can become discontented. Saturn in Aries: the desire to rule other people; self-willed; ambitious; defiant; obstinate (R. Ebertin).

Additionally, pivotal events took place in the year 1792 and we may wish to label this a cosmic time link from 1792 to 2027. One well known event is the Buttonwood Agreement (horoscope shown), the handshake that heralded the founding of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

Of course, a much closer time frame is the Year 2010 which is worth checking out as well. One prominent event that 2010 is known for is the longest solar eclipse of the 3rd Millennium and that's the 12 North of January 15, 2010 ('joining new groups through travel or ideas' - B. Brady) which I labeled at the time the "New President Eclipse" in honor of President Barack Obama, a man born with Saturn in its own sign of Capricorn.

Then for an ancient cosmic time link to the mess we're in, we can hardly do better than the Ides of March which marks the most famous political assassination in history of none other than Julius Caesar. If only he'd listened to his wife and stayed home from the Senate that day in 0044 BC.

On the Assassination of Julius Caesar

Ides of March: The World's Most Famous Assassination

Vincenzo Camuccini, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons

The vicious Assassination of Julius Caesar presents a harrowing and historic tale of betrayal and primal violence which played out in Rome's Theatre of Pompey on March 15, 0044 BC. Below is displayed a Horoscope set for that date at the speculative hour of 'noon'; you'll note that then-invisible Pluto, planet of death, assassination, and sabotage is prominent by being Station Direct at a critical 29th degree of mutable, Mercurial Gemini, not known as the most loyal of signs.

Also of interest is unaspected Neptune, planet of secrecy and confusion, for it is apex of the midpoint of the revolutionary pair of violence Uranus-Pluto ('collapse of the old order-construction of the new' - R. Ebertin) so that uncertainty, insecurity, nervousness, and even neuroses are suggested; and if you doubt that stationing Pluto is involved with this ancient crime, check him out as apex of a double T-Square listed on the chart, upper right:

For the curious, the birth data for Julius Caesar: July 12, -100 Rome; notably, his Uranus Rx @27Cap29 is the unpredictable planet of shock, attack, and chaos. Plus, there's a midpoint picture operative throughout the day of his birth, Mars-Saturn ('death axis') = Neptune (loss): "waning powers; undermined vitality; mysterious death" - R.E.

Now as you know, this historic murder is the event that spawned the infamous "Ides of March" warning that the world has been cautioned to 'be beware of' through the centuries. And obviously, any dream Caesar may have entertained of becoming a permanent dictator ended on that day via his 23 stab wounds even though he was appointed early in 44 BC as "dictator in perpetuity'. Was this the crux of the matter?

Then significantly, the first known post-mortem (autopsy) determined that he died from blood loss due to his wounds, and this, after wife Capurnia's dream that morning of his death caused her to beg him to skip the Senate meeting that day. Initially, Caesar delayed but at some point was persuaded to attend, and thus the assassination was perpetrated. Note that the Wikipedia link, above, provides a list of the conspirators, murderers who fled the city after their heinous deed was accomplished.

Meanwhile, the populace of Rome was not amused nor favorably impressed by the assassination of their Emperor Julius Caesar - some citizens were angry, and the 'rallying around' the murderers failed to materialize.

So looking back from our distant perspective, it's understandable that the death of Julius Caesar marked a major turning point in the history of Rome, and not necessarily in the ways that his assassins had expected.

But isn't that the way with erratic reformer Uranus? That unintended consequences always result from chaotic Uranian actions with outcomes that are impossible to control.

The Ides of March by Cindy Sheehan

FACT OF THE DAY from The Scotsman

One of the most notorious war crimes of modern time was perpetrated today in 1968, when soldiers of the US Army's Americal Division killed as many as 500 Vietnamese civilians in the village of Mai Lai. The act prompted a significant shift in public opinion against the war. Despite being convicted of the killings, Lt William Calley, who commanded the soldiers responsible, served only 3 1/2 years of house arrest before being released. Nearly 20 years later, many compare the war in Vietnam with the difficult situation US and allied forces find themselves in Iraq.
