Say Hi and Bye to Rep Bob Ney

If he acted as promised, Bob Ney tendered his letter of resignation this afternoon to the Speaker of the House--"at 4:00 or 4:30 pm."

Using Ney's sunrise chart, born July 5, 1954, Wheeling West VA, we see his natal Sun is same as the USA's and George Bush's natal Sun within one degree. Ney has Mercury 14Can04 Rx, with Jupiter on the other side of the Sun at 9Can26--whoo! Lots of self-protective, often crabby Cancer, isn't it? Canny though...or was, until October 13 when he was forced to plead guilty to making false statements and conspiracy to commit fraud in league with Jack Abramoff.

Mercury "speaks for" his Sun in Cancer in a Cancerian (self-dramatizing, self-protective) way, so he talks and communicates like a Cancer. And with Uranus in Cancer he behaves like a Cancer. (Wonder if he likes seafood?)

He acts/desires (Mars) as an idealistic Sagittarian--this particular sunrise occurred during a Mars hour with an out-of-bounds Mars (a maverick able to act outside the other energies of his chart), emphasized by Mars being retrograde, plus, feisty Mars is at a critical, crisis-ridden 29th degree.

Mars at "30Sag": "The pope blessing the faithful." This degree can be a blessing or a curse, says Dane Rudhyar, in his An Astrological Mandala.

Ney's sentencing is set, last I heard, for January 19,'07, and he could receive up to 27 months and $500,000 in fines. Is that all for all his crookery and for selling out the public trust? These charletans in the last several years have turned "public trust" into quite the joke, haven't they?

So even with his birth time unknown, we may safely consider Mr. Ney's Sun/Moon personality blend because the Moon was in Virgo for the whole 24-hour period. So let's have at it, shall we?

Sun Can/Moon Virgo:

This water-earth blend is reflective and attentive, loyal, dutiful, yet timid. There is a yearning to be appreciated and understood but shyness may take over and a talent for analyzing others is indulged instead.

Rationalizing needs keeps them at bay, plus a certain puritannical streak may be evident. There's a clear-headed and conscientious concern for others, a refined charm, and an unflagging moral integrity (hmm-m-m...)

Family is very important and there my be a fussiness in the domestic scene. Relationships are not lightly entered, and a committed relationship brings out a loving nature.

A tendency toward self-criticism leads to anxiety and depleted confidence and there can be a narrow-minded and self-righteous clinging to rules and right procedure in an attempt to establish security and authority (a "poltician"--jc); a self-effacing attitude may be used to mask the assumed self-righteousness.

Transit Saturn 24Leo07 (loss/Saturn of leaders/Leo) has been stomping upon Ney's Pluto, PLANET of power and transformation. This Saturn conjunction has transformed his power all right--Saturn bringing loss where his lessons of responsibility and realism have not been heeded properly, and so we reap what we sow...how grimly is determined by past actions and how we handled the authority we were privileged to attain.

The transiting pile-up of Mars, Sun, Venus, Mercury Rx, and Jupiter have recently bowled through Ney's Saturn/Neptune in loose conjunction, and as you know, the Saturn/Neptune pair signify several things on many levels, not the least of which can be loss, weakness, grief, and torment as Neptune undermines all of Saturn's hard work. Saturn is solid and Neptune nebulous and foggy--a difficult combo of planets to direct properly for anyone.

So often, having Saturn (and perhaps Neptune) in 10th house of Career is a signature for "fall from grace", so Mr.Ney may have this in his natal chart, if his correct birth time is used. In fact, if his chart is imaginatively "flipped" to put Sat/Nep in 10th house, it would possibly give tr SN (separation; breaking of ties and associations) conjunct the newly-created MC rather than as now with tr NN--with its associative and joining qualities--at MC/Career Point. Just a thought, esp since he's being forcibly separated from his Career and Public Status by jail time and ignominy.

Bill Clinton and Richard Nixon (birth times are known) both have Saturn in 10th house--ability to reach high ambitions with Saturn being strong in his natural 10th house of Capricorn--but if not held in high regard, Old Man Saturn's scythe--and a humongous Scythe is now forming amongst the planets in the heavens, remember--his scythe or sickle will have its way with the proud, thus causing a fall from grace in Public Status (10th house.)

Pride really does come before a fall, says Taskmaster Saturn.

Without Ney's correct birth time, this is conjecture, of course. But his fall from grace is no conjecture and I believe from studies of his sunrise chart that this is a humiliating and excruciating experience for Mr. Ney--I'm not trying to be flippant about his troubles. It would be so for any but the most hardened heart and character.

But as most people realize: our troubles are often self-created...and we must all deal with that inconvenient fact no matter where it takes us on life's path...reaping what we sow all the way!

Or, as a wise cartoon character with an Irish brogue once said on tv's Dr. Katz, "sure, and we are the otters of our own fats."

Sure, and we are.

"The Stars of November 8"

Well, Stars of the Stars!

Lawrence O'Donnell's predictive article of Nov 1 on Huffington Post sounds good to anyone who wants our inept, corrupt government officials held accountable for Bush's war and more--assuming their newly-in-charge enablers can dodge their own bullets--but at SO'W, the knowledge that trickster Rove is still on the loose means that it's no given that Ds will be inhabiting exalted catbird seats on November 8.

Yet change is good for the soul, and O'Donnell's The Stars of Nov 8 is a quick read on what could happen if the stars line up to create Dem "stars." But Mr.O'Donnell may not be as concerned about a retrograde Scorpio Mercury (until appr Nov 18) as he should be!

It's a recipe for recount and review.

Remember: the Democratic Party had its Progressed New Moon this August--the beginning of a new cycle of activity--so the time could be right for the Ds.

And also remember: the Ds are just a few years away from being ousted for corruption yet again--it is all about cycles, isn't it?

This is probably the last I post of the Dems before the midterm elections unless you, Lone Reader, suggest a name or two worthy of a look. I dare ya, given the infestation in Washington.

Here is some general info using sunrise charts for day of birth in order to glean a bit on the personalities of Barack Obama, Jane Harman, and John Conyers.

Barack Obama, born August 4, 1961, Honolulu, Hawaii, has Sun Leo/Moon Taurus, or, if born after 1:04 pm, Sun Leo/Moon Gemini. See which sounds like the Barack you know:

Sun Leo/Moon Tau: here is a love of grandeur, generosity, and personal magnetism. There may be an egocentricity which seeks the powerful position with its regal bearing and administrative abilities. Dependable and pragmatic, here is a showman ("politician") who is capable and loyal.

Today Tony Snow said that Senator Kerry "not only owes an apology to those who are serving, but also to the families of those who've given their lives in this."

And when he says, "IN THIS"...Snow means the Iraq War "this." This is the this to which he refers.

White House Spokesman Slams Kerry Remark continuing the kill-the-messenger-avoid-the-message tactics which Kerry then called the "classic GOP playbook." He also called Snow a "stuffed shirt" ha ha.

Guess the wiffle ball is in Tony's court now.

SO'W has to be with Kerry on this one--WHO owes our troops and their families an apology? The liaring war-profiteers who sent them there under a ruse?

There are many surmises to be made from the chart (police called, 3:45 pm edt, Harlem, if you want to look) but without more details that's all it would be--surmises.

Here are the Sun/Moon Images for this afternoon which may be instructive of the day:

Meet the Dems: Levin, Pilosi, Feingold

My intention is to post some info on prominent Democratic personalities in case we find ourselves travailing under them once November midterms settle in--strictly a "just in case".

Today we have on deck: Carl Levin, Nancy Pelosi, and Russ Feingold.

These were chosen in a clump because they share Full Moon personalities, and are within range (no birth times known) of having the obsessive-compulsive Quindecile aspect between Moon and Mars.

As you know, the natal Moon describes much about our emotions, and Mars represents the dsesire nature--how we intitiate and direct our actions and energies.

In a mundane chart, the Moon = the public or the people--so in a politician's chart, this has an obvious connection to their natal Moons. Politicians obsessed about the public? Ya don't say! On behalf of the public would be appreciated!

Two of the charts we'll consider today--birth times unknown--will have two possibilities for the Moon's positions since she moves quickly through the 24 hour period and may move into the next sign. Exs: Carl Levin, who has Moon in Aquarius in he was born after 4:02 pm, and Russ Feingold with Moon in either Virgo or Libra.

Let's get the Moon/Mars *Quindecile out in the open first: may be agressive in fulfilling needs, emotionally abusive or ruthless; hair trigger temper tantrums and quick mood changes may be prominent; strong, passionate emotional convictions which may result in positive outcomes when put to practical use. (Sounds helpful for a politician!-jc)

Levin, Pelosi, and Feingold share the Full Moon personality blend which is often viewed by others as "the extremist." This blend (and the correct Moon sign doesn't affect this assessment) has a sense of life vs death, and fertility vs barrenness--a polarization which is constantly affecting this personality.

Balance and stability need continual shifting in the life perspectives, and a "middle of the road" must be found in order to achieve the high objectives of this blend.

One moment there is a sense of security--materially and intellectually--the next there is a plunge into turmoil which affects all relationships.

The most basic purpose of the Full Moon personality is preservation of the species and if a well-rounded, mature personality is developed by adulthood, the goals are within reach in spite of the constant inner state of flux.

There are hair trigger emotions (underscoring the above-mentioned Moon/Mars aspect), great self-expressive ability, and creativity. A constant stream of feedback and approval is required from others or the self-esteem swings very quickly down to the depths of despair and self-doubt.

There is a good ability to learn by one's mistakes, and a conformity vs anarchy element may be noticed. A keen sense of purpose, a sense that life is to be lived in the here and now, and major achievements mark this blend esp if the volatile child is allowed to develop into a stable adult. This is the "own best friend or own worst enemy" combo which ideally becomes the mature achiever.
