Horoscope: Founding of the Federal City (DC) 1791

Mercury-ruled Virgo, sign of The Virgin, is a prominently emphasized Zodiac sign and constellation across the District of Columbia and appears in horoscopes of various cornerstone laying ceremonies of buildings and monuments across the city including that of the executive mansion (lodge) we now call the White House.

In the horoscope, chart-ruler (and goal-oriented Midheaven-ruler) Mercury makes no major applying aspects to other planets so its sign, house, and degree are spotlighted (10Tau32 in the occult 8th house conjunct star Menkar...victim of the unconscious and associated with Cetus the Whale). If we look to the stars of the ancient constellation Virgo for clues to the nature of our capital city, we find that the Virgin was called Demeter by the Greeks, Ceres by the Romans, and on April 21, 1791, the Sun @1Tau37 (8th house) conjoined asteroid Ceres, goddess of the harvest. Spica is the alpha star of Virgo, and is represented in the Federal Triangle by the phallic Washington Monument, part of the Founders' Solar Cult in which George Washington was allegedly deified.

Spica ('the spike') is linked with the wheat sheaf in the hand of the goddess (our Founders were pagan goddess worshippers as you may know by now!) and was considered a symbol of her gifts to mankind of harvest, bounty, knowledge and wise insights. That's supposedly George all over according to his contemporaries.

Of course there is much more to say concerning this horoscope, the circumstances in 1791, and the stars and planets thereof but I shall leave you to be curious enough to check things out for yourself--if indeed you are curious at all.

White House cornerstone laid October 13, 1792

Looking at the White House's horoscope set for noon on Saturday October 13, 1792 Washington DC, we find a Sun Libra-Moon Virgo blend of energies influenced by Venus (Libra) and Mercury (Virgo), and if you've studied the history or the architecture of Washington DC, you know that there are approximately 23 Zodiacs around the city along with the constellation and stars of Virgo (the Virgin, Ceres, Isis, Mary, Venus, etc) embedded within its buildings and monuments. But such a topic requires a much lengthier post so today we'll simply consider the Sun-Moon personality blend of Washington DC.

Plus, we should note as well that the Moon conjoined its North Node in Virgo on that day lending auspiciousness to the Masonic ceremony of cornerstone laying.

Washington DC's natal Sun Lib-Moon Vir is an Air-Earth blend that provides 'practical idealist' leanings which can be 'up in the air' and 'down to earth' simultaneously. However, becoming 'dry as dust' is a caution.

Sun Lib-Moon Vir indicates an ability to speak to people from all walks and levels of life, and it should be peace loving (but we know how that's been undermined by foreign financiers with total control on their reptilian minds--did Alexander Hamilton and George Washington know what they were doing--enslaving America to perpetual debt--when they allowed the English wolves of central banking into the American henhouse?)

This combo likes to observe people (and poll numbers!) in order to learn from them. I would have to say that some of our presidents have used this blend's social concern in a pragmatic way though others clearly are only in it for the power and money--these are the ones who resonate with the White House tendency to entertain a 'holier-than-thou' attitude while facts are quickly summed up and action is taken. And as you know, opponents allegedly take offense at President Obama's more measured way of making decisions even though the Pentagon's 'might makes right' mindset has become part of this picture for whatever Commander-in-Chief is in the Oval Office (another Venus reference) especially after the Cold War. (Aren't all wars 'cold'?) A dislike of messiness by the White House may also be noticed with its Sun Lib-Moon Vir.

Now let's close with a starkly practical quote from someone who was born under the influence of the Sun Libra-Moon Virgo blend, comedian Lenny Bruce:

"The 'what should be' never did exist but people keep trying to live up to it. There is no 'what should be', there is only what is."

Now I wonder if that includes knowing what the meaning of *is is?

Comet Lulin now visible to naked eye

COMET LULIN UPDATE: Comet Lulin is approaching Earth and brightening rapidly. Observers say it is now visible to the naked eye as a faint (magnitude +5.6) gassy patch in the constellation Virgo before dawn. Even city dwellers have seen it.

Backyard telescopes reveal a vivid green comet in obvious motion. Just yesterday, amateur astronomers watched as a solar wind gust tore away part of the comet's tail, the second time this month such a thing has happened. Lulin's closest approach to Earth (38 million miles) is on Feb 24; at that time the comet could be two or three times brighter than it is now.

SATELLITE DEBRIS: More than a week has passed since the Feb 10 collision of Iridium 33 and Kosmos 2251 over northern Siberia, and the orbits of some of the largest fragments have now been measured by US Strategic Command.

Today's edition of SpaceWeather features global maps showing where the debris is located. Only 26 fragments are currently plotted, but that number will grow as radar tracking of the debris continues. Check back often for updates.
