A Rare Transit of Venus June 5-6, 2012 (video)

The following video was nabbed from the Transit of Venus website where you'll find more information, plus, Transit of Venus apps concerning this rare cosmic event placed on our calendars by The Cosmos for June 5 or 6, 2012, depending on your viewing location:

You'll remember the last Venus Transit (aka, an Occultation of the Sun) which occurred during the G-8 Summit held June 8-10, 2004 when world leaders huddled together on Sea Island, Georgia in a stuptifying frenzy of self-importance and sheer chest-baring as they strolled upon the beach, primed for a goofy looking photo-op.

Here's one photo of the boys from 2004 though their shirts aren't open as in the one I guffawed over back in 2004--maybe that one got mysteriously scrubbed from the internet for it was really quite cheesy. Now it's old times come again as Vladimir Putin rejoins The Club (as if he ever left!)

Plus, the 2004 G-8 meeting was held a mere three days after the passing of Ronald Reagan from this mortal coil but we may suppose that The Gipper would have wanted his globalist co-conspirators to carry on with world domination plans. And just look how far they've advanced!

It's Draconid Meteor Time! October 8, 2011

Look up, for the Draconid Meteor Shower is all around us!

Space Weather News for Oct 7, 2011

DRACONID METEOR SHOWER: On Saturday, October 8th, Earth will pass through a network of dusty filaments shed by Comet 21P/Giacobini-Zinner. Forecasters expect the encounter to produce anywhere from a few dozen to a thousand meteors per hour visible mainly over Europe, northern Africa and the Middle East. The meteors will stream from the northern constellation Draco--hence their name, the "Draconids."

Check SpaceWeather News for full coverage of the event including observing times and a live audio stream from a meteor radar. #

Plus, you may wish to visit a previous post concerning the Draconids and constellation Draco the Dragon and its alpha star Thuban, an interesting star linked to planets in the natal charts of two past giants: Pablo Picasso and Sir Isaac Newton.

NASA Satellite Falls to Earth This Week Sept 2011

The following space alert definitely falls into SO'W's Look Up category!

Space Weather News for Sept 20, 2011

UARS, a NASA satellite the size of a small bus, will re-enter Earth's atmosphere later this week producing a brilliant fireball somewhere over our planet. Best estimates place the re-entry time during the late hours of Sept 23rd over a still-unknown region of Earth.

Observers of the rapidly-decaying satellite say it is tumbling and flashing, sometimes almost as brightly as Venus. Video images featured on today's edition of SpaceWeather.com show how the doomed satellite looks through a backyard telescope.

Readers who would like to catch a last glimpse of UARS streaking across the night sky should check SpaceWeather's Satellite Tracker for flyby times.

You can also turn your smartphone into a UARS tracker by downloading our Simple Flybys app.

Visible Alignment of Planets: a presaging of 2012? 5.10.11

1999, the New Millennium, 2012, and Planets All in a Row 2011

by Jude Cowell

May 10, 2011: as of today it is possible to see with the naked eye a fabulous celestial show: a line-up of Mercury, Venus, Mars, and Jupiter in the wee hours of the morning for the next few weeks.

Even quirkily inclined Uranus and shy Neptune may be viewed if environmental conditions are right and you have a decent pair of binoculars! (Do let me know here in a Comment if you spy them. Or message: judecowell at gmail dot com.)

Now some folk are relating the current line-up to the potential devastation expected in 2012 though astronomers at NASA are poo-pooing the idea. They say that no similar configuration is on the Universe's schedule for December 21, 2012, the end date of the Mayan Calendar. Yet what the date is the end of, no one really knows. Apparently planet Venus is involved and is said to have been the culprit in an earlier cosmic disaster some millions of years ago; the Sunspot Cycle is also implicated.

For further investigation on such topics as 2012, you may be interested in a website I recently discovered called Shift of the Ages along with New World Order 2012 which addresses such head-scratching topics.

Plus, there's a classic A&E program that mentions the Mayan Calendar 2012 question and is narrated by the excellent Leonard Nimoy - click for a video of Part 1, then click through for the rest, if you wish, for it remains quite watchable as Planet Earth nears 2012.

Is Fear of 2012 Really Necessary?

Personally I suspect that one-world-government types have for decades played upon and manipulated public fears (perhaps assisted by the ancient cataclysm mentioned above involving Venus which, if so, rests deep within our Collective Unconscious) for their own power-grabbing purposes. Something is coming up that they will use to justify their increased control and reordering of our lives.

Such social manipulators use Astrology, too, you know!

And their agenda was ramped up after the Biblical portents in the Book of Revelation became visible astrologically in the horoscope of the King of Terror Solar Eclipse (aka, the 'King of Alarm Eclipse', or 'The Mother of All Eclipses') which Nostradamus predicted centuries ago and which manifested on August 11, 1999. The article lines you up with the eclipse horoscope if you wish a view.

1999: A Major Shift of Cosmic Energies

The mid-degrees of the Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius) are spotlighted in the August 11, 1999 chart and in Astrology have been known for ages as the Oxen Point, Lion Point, Eagle Point, and Angel Point.

So I must ask you: since the New Millennium began have we not experienced an abundance of misery and fear-mongering upon the Earth since God's angels (timed by the 1999 eclipse and predicted in Revelation) let go the four corners of 'the winds of war and strife'?

The Ultimate Dilemma

In an ultimate and eternal sense, all I can say is that everyone who ever lived, lives now, or will be born of Planet Earth has a true condition before God - what our Creator thinks of each one of us, not what we or anyone else thinks. (Mankind's ego need not apply!)

So to me, given the current climate of natural and other disasters - with more to come - it seems that the most important thing anyone could ever do in his or her life is to examine one's heart of hearts and attend to and repair His opinion - the only one that truly matters - in order to improve one's status according to The Light one has received!

Vulcans to Libya, a SuperMoon, & Iraq War's Solar Return March 2011

NPR BREAKING NEWS: Allied Aircraft Flying Over Libya

French President Nicolas Sarkozy has confirmed that coalition planes are in the air above Libya. "Our air force will oppose any aggression by Col. Gadhafi against the population of Benghazi," he announced in Paris.

More at NPR.

~:~

Astro-Note: the Iraq War's Solar Return 2011 occurs March 20, 2011 at 4:55:59 am BAT -3:00 Baghdad, Iraq; ASC 1Pis17 w the Neptune 29AQ30/Chiron 2Pis37 duo rising; Hour Mars 19Pis44 in 1st house and out-of-bounds and precariously motivated in Pisces. Transiting Neptune at a critical 29th degree approaches Iraq War's natal 12th H Uranus 00Pis30 (planet of rebellion and radicalism), a time when there are unrealistic expectations about societal changes, social breakdowns, and ideals and spiritual goals that conflict with current financial and technological conditions: as before, precarious.

Tr Pluto 7Cap24 has now crossed the war's natal Midheaven (The Goal; The WHY? Point) and nears the Piscean Mars 9Cap11. Thus, a midpoint picture forms at the very top of the radix chart: Mars/MC = tr Pluto: extraordinary zeal and tremendous vigor; the desire to bring immense tasks to a successful conclusion. (Ebertin.)

That would be a long-desired goal yet there are many portents in the natal and Solar Return 2011 charts which I won't bore you with on this SuperMoon day. But when tr Saturn, now @ 15Lib01 Rx, reaches Iraq War's natal 7th H Moon 23Lib06 (the people),
a valley of depressed feelings and despairing emotions will be experienced as staged and engineered by a spidery global network of warhawks, Vulcans, arms dealers, and other profiteers.

The Vulcans Are Forging Their War Tools Again

Disturbingly, the Iraq War's Solar Return chart for March 20, 2011 - it's 8th anniversary so the 9th year now begins - shows tr Hidalgo (power; expecting obedience) and Lilith (an archetype associated with the Middle East, especially with Israel; also, spies, surveillance, & potential betrayal) are at SR Midheaven (MC 12Sag10 = US natal ASC) of the horoscope which signifies a tag team effort possessing superior forces to bring down the government of Libya....another "coalition" which has been approved by the UN Security Council for enforcement of control in Libya as our Western Imperial March across the region continues with oil and gas (SR Neptune and Chiron rising) the main issue to be dealt with.

Now which entity on the world political stage do you think the Iraq War's SR 2011 Hidalgo in Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius represents?

SuperMoon in Virgo March 19, 2011

Today is March 19, 2011, day of a SuperMoon, a lunar phenomenon which tends to herald disaster or catastrophe. Starting another war, this time in Libya, is one form of disaster begun by men who sit far away from the melee lest their pretty minds be stained or unduly ruffled. Yet all Full Moons and today's SuperMoon in late Virgo indicate the culmination and fulfillment stage of seeds planted at the New Moon of March 4, 2011 @ '14Pis' = "A Lady in Fox Fur." (We note how often we hear Hillary Clinton's name in the news of late.)

Then on a more personal, inner level which addresses our deepest concerns, my friend Julie Demboski has published a column on the SuperMoon that is not to be missed. The Full Moon of March 19, 2011: Birthing Uranus in Aries contains Lunar food for Mercurial thought with Uranian insights for all who care to listen. Thanks, Julie!

There Be Storms on Saturn! Dec 28, 2010

Zeeks! With America's Saturn Return 14Lib48 well underway into 2011, the planet of accountability, responsibility, authority, stability, and restriction is experiencing a time of unstable weather. Sound familiar?

Space Weather News for Dec 28, 2010

BIG STORM ON SATURN: Got a telescope for Christmas? Point it at Saturn. A giant storm even brighter than Saturn's rings is raging through the planet's cloud tops. Amateur images and sky maps are featured on today's edition of SpaceWeather News.

GEOMAGNETIC STORM IN PROGRESS: At the time this alert is being written (mid-day UT on Dec 28), a polar geomagnetic storm is in progress (Kindex=5). Observers report electric currents in the ground and intensifying Northern Lights over Scandinavia. High-latitude sky watchers should be alert for auroras.

It's Orionid Meteor season! Oct 21 and 22, 2010

With the stars of the constellation Orion at the top of my natal chart and with Autumn being my favorite season, anything that involves Orion always claims my attention. In fact, many of my Cosmic and Moon Art illustrations have Orion tucked somewhere in the sky if you look closely!

Space Weather News for Oct. 20, 2010

SUNDIVING COMET: A newly-discovered comet is plunging toward the sun for a close encounter it probably will not survive. The comet is too deep in the sun's glare for human eyes to pick out, but it is showing up nicely in coronagraph images from the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory.

Visit SpaceWeather.com for the latest movies.

ORIONID METEOR SHOWER: Earth is passing through a stream of debris from Halley's Comet, and this is causing the annual Orionid meteor shower. Bright moonlight is reducing the number of visible meteors; nevertheless, sky watchers are reporting some bright Orionids.

The best time to look is during the hours before local dawn on Thursday, Oct 21st, and again on Friday, Oct 22nd. Check SpaceWeather News for a sky map and more information.

Draconids, Venus Rx, and the Green Comet! Oct 2010/11

Venus turning Rx on Oct 8, 2010 @ 13Sco13 isn't all that's hot in the heavens for Oct 8 is the annual date of the Draconid Meteor Shower:

Space Weather News for Oct 8, 2010

DRACONID METEORS: Every year around Oct 8, Earth passes through a minefield of dusty debris from Comet Giacobini-Zinner, source of the annual Draconid meteor shower. This year, forecasters expect Earth to narrowly miss several of the debris streams, resulting in no appreciable display for 2010.

Next year, however, could be different.

On Oct 8, 2011, Earth will have a nearly head-on collision with a tendril of dust, setting off a strong outburst of as many as 750 meteors per hour. One year from now, sky watchers could see the strongest meteor shower since the Leonid storms a decade ago. Mark your calendar and, meanwhile, follow the links at SpaceWeather.com for more information.

COMET HARTLEY 2 UPDATE: Comet 103P/Hartley 2 continues to approach Earth for an 11-million-mile close encounter on Oct 20. It is not yet visible to the unaided eye, but amateur astronomers are finding it easily using backyard telescopes. The comet's vivid green atmosphere now subtends an angle equal to some of the biggest craters and seas on the Moon.

Visit SpaceWeather News for sky maps and latest images.

'Ultra Deep Field' in 3D as seen by Hubble Telescope!

Here's an interesting presentation of NASA curiosity which details how the Hubble Telescope was pointed toward a sand-grain-sized 'black patch in the sky' for 10 days in 1996 and 11 days in 2004..and what was discovered!

View if you may, then see if it reminds you too of what Jesus said to His disciples concerning such subjects: "In My Father's house are many mansions, if it were not so, I would have told you."

(My italics. This I take to mean that such information isn't necessary for receiving the gift of eternal life, but since they asked, He confirmed that Earth is not the only planet in Creation. Ours is simply the fallen world which tallies with Astrology's use of Saturn - planet of falls - as a stand-in for Earth, the 'lesson book of the universe' - and 'lessons' are also a province of Saturn!)

Green comet's close encounter w Earth Oct 20, 2010

Time to look up! And NASA is sending Deep Impact for a closer peek...

Space Weather News for Oct 1, 2010

APPROACHING COMET: Green comet 103P/Hartley 2 is approaching Earth for a close encounter on Oct 20th.

At that time, the comet will be only 11 million miles (0.12 AU) from our planet and should be dimly visible to the naked eye from dark sky sites. It already looks great through backyard telescopes, as shown by images featured on today's edition of SpaceWeather News.

NASA's Deep Impact/EPOXI spacecraft is en route to this comet for close-up studies and a daring flyby on Nov 4th.

UPSIDE-DOWN LIGHTNING OVER THE KENNEDY SPACE CENTER: An amateur photographer has photographed rare lightning-like discharges called "gigantic jets" shooting up from storm clouds near NASA's Kennedy Space Center. Visit SpaceWeather.com for a movie and more information about the phenomenon.

June-July-August 2010 brings attacks on Jupiter

Perhaps you've heard that Jupiter has experienced at least three attacks recently from what are probably meteors and comets.

It's been observed before - in 1994 and in olden days by the discoverer of four of Saturn's Moons, Giovanni Casini. Perhaps Jupiter's ongoing transit to Aries Point has helped put the Great Benefic's woes in the news since the Cardinal Points are where large events tend to manifest...and Jupiter's all about large, isn't he? He even has a broadcasting role to play when he gets a chance and a pulpit.

And with revolutionary Uranus enjoined with Jupiter, perhaps the 'sudden events' on planet Jupiter's surface are compliments of The Awakener, aka, The Witness, for Uranus is capable of providing sudden attacks or shocks to any system. Either way, one of my favorite planets, Jupiter, is under attack for a third time in August but in his guise as 'Zeus' or 'Jove' he seems to be holding up well so far even though Saturn opposes him and Pluto squares his desires!

(Ongoing is: Jupiter/Saturn = Pluto: tremendous perseverance; dramatic thrust of self; control of the situation; major change of situation; fearless.)

For after all, our solar system desperately needs Jupiter in his role along with Saturn as the Flywheel of the Universe which keeps the planets in their courses because their balance (Jupiter expansion vs Saturn restriction) is what holds planet Earth snugly in The Great Mathematician's hand.

The tension in their relationship undergirds the yin-yang, positive-negative, light-dark of our dualistic world!

Well, this evening Lady Luna joins Jupiter and Uranus and will be 'between' them at AP by late tonight and will sail just beyond them in the very wee hours of Friday morning. This gives three midpoint pictures to consider for our Moon-related daily rounds - well, nightly rounds, in this case.

From Noel Tyl's midpoint directory we find as Moon approaches Uranus:

Moon/Jupiter = Uranus: confidence; expectation of reward.

Then just before midnight (Aug 26, 2010) we have:

Jupiter/Uranus = Moon: opportunity for major change; looking ahead to success.

Finally, the Moon sails beyond the guru and the genius and for a few fleeting minutes there's:

Moon/Uranus = Jupiter: sudden success; large plans to put the self forward.

Yes, 'fleeting' is the word when it comes to the fluctuating Moon in transit, but these days we all must look for a spot of relief wherever we may find it, however brief.

And for expert info on the pairing of Jupiter and Uranus you can't do better than Scotland's Anne Whitaker who has a blog dedicated to the exploratory, eureka! combo at Jupiter Meets Uranus.

Hope the Moon-Jupiter-Uranus hook-up brings you a good and restorative evening!

There shall be signs: new Comet McNaught on the way

This SpaceWeather Alert may be a day late but comes not a comet too soon...expect the unexpected. Especially with quirky Uranus and generous Jupiter at Aries Point these days!

Space Weather News for June 8, 2010

NEW COMET McNAUGHT: A fresh comet is swinging through the inner solar system, and it is brightening rapidly as it approaches Earth for a 100 million mile close encounter in mid-June.

Comet McNaught (C/2009 R1) has a vivid green head and a long wispy tail that look great through small telescopes. By the end of the month it could be visible to the naked eye perhaps as bright as the stars of the Big Dipper.

Because this is the comet's first visit to the inner solar system, predictions of future brightness are necessarily uncertain; amateur astronomers should be alert for the unexpected.

Sun eats Comet and Solar Winds blow April 2010

The following April 20, 2010 SpaceWeather Alert may be a day late and it's definitely a comet short:

Space Weather News for April 10, 2010

SUNGRAZING COMET: This morning, the sun had a comet for breakfast. The icy visitor from the outer solar system appeared with little warning on April 9th and plunged into the sun during the early hours of April 10th. One comet went in, none came out.

Visit SpaceWeather.com to see a death plunge movie from the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory.

SOLAR WIND STORM: The first major solar wind storm of the new solar cycle has come to an end. The event, which stretched from April 4 to April 8, ignited auroras over both poles and many points in between. Highlights include Northern Lights over an active volcano in Iceland, green skies in Minnesota, and a kaleidoscopic display of Southern Lights over Antarctica.

Strong Sunspot activity Feb 8, 2010

Space Weather News for Feb 8, 2010

BIG SUNSPOT: The sudden emergence of big sunspot 1045 over the weekend has caused a sharp uptick in solar activity. The active region has produced three M-class and almost a dozen C-class solar flares since it appeared on Saturday. The strongest blast, an M6-class eruption on Feb 7, may have hurled a coronal mass ejection toward Earth.

High-latitude sky watchers should be alert for auroras in the nights ahead as a result of this activity. Also, ham radio operators are picking up strong solar radio bursts using shortwave receivers.

Sample sounds and images may be found at SpaceWeather.com.

A miffed Pluto changing color

On NPR I heard that a miffed (my word) Pluto has added red to his wardrobe.

Red! How perfect for the god of Hades, he of the invisible helmet, the glove of guilt.

And thanks to master astrologer Donna Cunningham, I now have the above link to pass on to you, Pluto's photo included.

Dec 31, 2009's Blue Moon Eclipse excites worldwide interest

SpaceWeather News for Dec 31, 2009

SUNSPOT SURGE: 2009 is ending with a flurry of sunspots. The month of December has had more "spotted days" than any previous month of the year by a significant margin, and all of the month's sunspot groups have been members of new Solar Cycle 24.

Could this herald an end to the deepest solar minimum in nearly a century? That remains to be seen. Sunspot counts and trends are shown on today's edition of SpaceWeather News.

SOMETHING NEW: Turn your iPhone or iPod Touch into a field-tested satellite tracker! Spaceweather.com presents the Satellite Flybys app.

BLUE MOON ECLIPSE: For the first time in almost 20 years, there's going to be a "Blue Moon" on New Year's Eve. In Europe, sky watchers will witness an even rarer event--an eclipse of a Blue Moon on New Year's Eve. What are the odds?

Fireball over western US turns night to day 11.18.09

Space Weather News for Nov 18, 2009

FIREBALLS AND METEORS: As forecasters predicted, the Leonid meteor shower peaked during the late hours of Nov 17, favoring sky watchers in Asia with an outburst of 100+ meteors per hour. Just as the outburst was dying down, an even bigger event took place over the western USA. Something hit Earth's atmosphere and exploded with an energy equivalent of 0.5 to 1 kiloton of TNT.

Witnesses in Colorado, Utah, Idaho and elsewhere say the fireball "turned night into day" and "shook the ground" when it exploded just after midnight Mountain Standard Time. Researchers who are analyzing infrasound recordings of the blast say the fireball was not a Leonid. It was probably a small asteroid, now scattered in fragments across the countryside.

Efforts are underway to measure the trajectory of the asteroid and guide meteorite recovery efforts. Please visit SpaceWeather News for images and updates. #

~:~

Hmmm....there were fireballs sighted over Colorado in 2008...they can sometimes indicate experiments taking place. Or perhaps...going awry.

Then again it could be actual 'signs in the heavens' couldn't it?
