As it turns out, America has stepped in a big pile o'mess. Here's a June 12, 2017 segment from the Thom Hartmann program featuring former president Jimmy Carter explaining stuff such as Donald Trump, neoliberalism, and "unresponsive" politicians:

One point made by Mr. Frank is that the successful fundraising of Bernie Sanders during Campaign 2016 proves that the Democratic Party doesn't have to be rotten with corporatism (my wording, not his) in order to win elections.

Of course, then Democrats would be beholden to We the People and expected to act on our behalf which is not part of the Global Government script that Washington follows though you may not hear such sentiments in the following interview! jc
