Announcing a New Day for SO'W! Or Is It? What Do *You* Think?

May 17, 2020: After nearly 15 years of freebie content created for the most part by yours truly, Stars Over Washington, my labor of love on behalf of America, now has its very own Patreon account set up for any reader who may wish to encourage a continuance of SO'W posts, plus, perhaps read a bit of special content published there just for you as my schedule permits!

Therefore, after years of domain fees, plus, ink and paper expenditures, my question for you must be:

Shall SO'W be shuttered by October 2020 before it enters its 16th year or should I continue publishing Political Astrology horoscopes and posts into 2021?

Eclipses and a few other Cosmic Events of 2018

Please note that the following list of Cosmic Events of 2018 is incomplete and does not cover the entire year because not all 2018 events have been written about and published yet!

As you know, each year begins under the influence of the Winter Solstice planets of the prior year which in this case is the Winter Solstice of 2017. Its solar influences extend at least until Spring Equinox 2018 in March.

Astrologically, year 2018 itself opens with a Cancer Full Moon at '12 Cancer' which is the "A Chinese Woman Nursing a Baby with a Message" degree suggesting an "occult potential of being, one that requires a deeper or higher 'vision', a holistic perception...; Keynote: The revelation of latent worth in an experience once it is seen in its deeper meaning." REVELATION."

The symbol for the January Full Moon's prior degree of karmic confrontation is '11 Cancer' = "A Clown Caricaturing Well-Known Personalities"; "Keynote: The value of humor in developing objectivity and independence of mind. DECONDITIONING." Mr. Trump pontificating from the White House has been a comedy bonanza for our erstwhile late night funny men and stand-up comics and a safety valve for Americans and others who appreciate their efforts to make us laugh to keep from crying.

Then, after a very long year 2017, the Trump (excuse for an) administration has its Inauguration 2018 Solar Return (horoscope shown with POTUS Sun in 6th house, quirky Uranus at Midheaven--is this Return chart showing a change of occupation or residence? Poor health due to too much fast-food eatin'? Use of military and police forces? Any, all, or none of these?) All bets are off on whether insulter-in-chief Trump remains in the White House into 2018 and/or beyond. After all, last evening's election results in Virginia, New Jersey, and elsewhere favored Democrats over Republicans as a rebuke to Peckerwood Trump and his party of billionaires and racists!

Now three Solar Eclipses occur in 2018 and are repeats of year 2000 (there was a fourth solar eclipse on Christmas Day 2000 @4Capricorn, the repeat of which manifests in the 2 South series on January 6, 2019 @15Capricorn.) Obviously these solar eclipses of 2000 occurred before the 'New Millennium' dawned and prior to the attacks of 9/11. Currently we are under the auspices of a 1 North Solar Eclipse which manifested as The Great American Eclipse of August 21, 2017 @29Leo--conjunct Mr. Trump's natal Ascendant (his nibs himself).

Next up is the 1 South Solar Eclipse or what I'm calling The 'We The People Eclipse' of February 15, 2018 @27AQ (conjunct US natal Moon of July 4, 1776). We receive a 'cosmic blink' from this 'wild card of the Universe' as more secrets are starkly revealed by eclipse light.

And on May 15, 2018 rebellious, disruptive Uranus Enters Taurus, a money sign ruled by comfort-loving Venus and signaling a period of risking everything in one toss, speculation, and/or seeking individual methods of financing (Ebertin).

Then on July 13, 2018 it's a Solar Eclipse @21Cancer in the 2 Old North series which is the Prenatal Eclipse (PE) series of quixotic Donald J. Trump, swamp-drainer extraordinaire (not!) His 2 Old North PE occurred on June May 30, 1946 @8Gemini conjunct US natal Uranus which suggest potentials for revolution, resistance, protests, unrest of the people due to his actions and rhetoric, upsets in the nation, a break for freedom, and/or violence.

Note that one of the historical events of early 1946 include President Truman setting up the CIG (Central Intelligence Group) but he signed the National Security Act on July 26, 1947 and you may wish to view the CIA's Neptune Rising natal horoscope here. The secretive organization is a Saturn-Pluto/Mars-Uranus/Moon-Jupiter affair and will experience a three-fer Jupiter Return (17Sco52) on January 6, May 12, and September 5--all in 2018. The third and final Solar Eclipse of 2018 is The 'Tower Eclipse' of August 11th in the 2 New North series with its 'collapse of an existing structure' theme that resonates closely with Tarot card 16. This eclipse also resonates by degree (19Leo) with the 18 North Solar Eclipse of August 11, 1961, the PE of FOX News personality Sean Hannity (in case you're a fan). Current-day, 18 North manifested on September 13, 2015 @20Virgo with themes of 'high stress level, taxing of strength, physical concern' (Brady).

And on November 5, 2018--around the time of the 2018 Midterm Elections--it so happens that US Constitution's Progressed New Moon perfects at 16Tau03 (chart shown). '17 Taurus' = "A POLARIZATION OF VALUES" (symbol: "Swords vs Torches"). This Sabian Symbol is so full of esoteric meaning concerning the founding of America that a book would have to be written!

Then beginning in December 2017, Ronald Reagan and his policies and political legacy of 'trickle down' economics has a three-fer Jupiter Return to his natal Jupiter position (13Scorpio) which extends into 2018 as transit Jupiter, banking planet of jackpots and lotteries, expands himself along through the secretive and ruthless business sign of Scorpio.

Well, there is my partial list of previously published posts concerning 2018. Knowing myself as well as I do, updates to this list as posts are published probably won't be happening but a reader can always plug '2018' into the sidebar Search Box and see what appears!

A 'hidden square' in America's Scorpio Rising chart

If one uses the Scorpio Rising chart for America (2:21 pm - or 2:22 pm - LMT July 4, 1776, Philadelphia, PA) as a natal chart or as a special interest chart - in this case, for Scorpionic stuff such as surveillance, spying agencies, Big Business, the occult, becoming an initiate or an adept, etc - one discovers a mysteriously named 'hidden square' (256 degrees) which is not necessarily visible or prominent in other versions of our US natal chart.

You'll find that the interpretation for what may be termed a 'hidden square' is quoted for you in the post from Rob Pelletier's excellent book Planets in Aspect, a must for any astrologer's or novice's library. (Well, we're all mere novices of the Great Mathematician, are we not?)

Being in the square (90 degr) family of aspects (angular relationships between planets and/or points) the 'hidden square' also describes the typical internal conflicts of the square aspect, internal blockages on the mental or psychological plane. Squares form due to essential quests.

Of course, others may block us, obstacles may appear along the path, but solutions may be found within. For more than likely, an unconscious 'blind spot' will trip us up more quickly than anything that anyone can do to block us. And we must first deceive ourselves before others may do so.

So if you would, please click to read Mr. Pelletier's analysis of this particular planetary square, and if you determine that it doesn't describe we-the-people more closely than I wish it did, please leave a comment here to let me know about it. Some of its traits or facets seem eerily prevalent in the New Millennium.

My feeling is that we Americans carry our Revolutionary past around on our backs like a snail shell! We even try to get other countries to follow our example and adopt our form of government (thereby missing several points that a common sense approach would avoid entirely particularly since we-the-people are confused about which form we actually have anymore. We had a Republic but haven't kept it, and we're barely qualified to call ourselves a democracy. In fact, other people laugh at us when we do. This is bad.)

Yes, change in America (and in the world) is necessary, all right. But ruling upper-crusters seem to have a very different idea from what the people think is just and good for their own nation and lives. The plutocrats are decidedly obsessive about their plans, too. Obsession is another face of Pluto, of course, the secret hand sniveling and lurking behind the scenes of Power.

Be advised: your silence on the 'hidden square' matter shall be construed as willing acquiescence!

So check out the post above and weigh in, if you may. Perhaps you'll agree that much of America's collective psyche is described to a T - and it contains advice we'd do well to heed if only we would. First, on a personal level which eventually affects the world on the collective level. Well, just think about it.

CNN Political News Ticker and a bit of Astrology

This CNN Political News Ticker doesn't fit in the sidebar of this blog yet I felt like seeing it here on SO'W anyway, for some unknown reason.

Probably it's because there's So Much in the News of late which is precisely what happens when the Cardinal Points of the zodiac (00degr00 of Aries/Libra and Cancer/Capricorn) are being triggered, visited, or stimulated by planets traversing the heavens, while held in orbit by the tension between Jupiter (expansion) and Saturn (restriction), aka the flywheel of the universe, and which describes the yin-yang of our earthly lives.

Jupiter and Saturn are moving into opposition, the 'Full Moon' phase of their cycle which began @ conjunction on May 28, 2000 @ '23Taurus' = "A Jewelry Shop Filled with the Most Magnificent Jewels". This dance of the two societal planets began the New Millennium - brilliantly for the haves, not so good for the have-nots - and their cycle is intimately related to stock market ebbs and flows, so investors beware.

For it's Expansion vs Restriction from May 2000 to June 2010, and something begun then is at a culmination-fulfillment point now. The recent puniness of the DOW has been blamed primarily on Greece's debt load and the downgrading of the nation's credit rating. Yet public and private lack of trust in Wall Street will never improve until and unless the bankster crooks are brought to justice...assuming there's any justice to be found in America.

The Jupiter-Saturn duo is related to 'a justice system at its breaking point' according to Michael Munkasey in his Midpoints: Unleashing the Power of the Planets, so we must see how things go on that accounting question, mustn't we?

Plus, the President's almost-passed Financial Reform Bill is described by the current Jupiter-Saturn opposition, and economist Simon Johnson makes a case for waking up the President concerning the game-changing overnight events in the eurozone's financial system.

This phase of the Jup-Sat cycle means that from now until their next Great Conjunction in 2020 @ 00AQ29, the degree of our Presidential Sun position, Jupiter will proceed Saturn, the 'downside' of their dance. In this condition, Jupiter first rewards, then Saturn eventually comes along to insist that undeserved gains be given back or restricted in some way.

However, those who worked hard and honestly for Jupiterian gains fare better when Saturn insists on a balancing of accounts. So usually it's better for all concerned when Saturn's serious efforts are eventually rewarded by Jupiter's magic wand following, not preceding Saturn...but that 10-year phase is now ending and Saturn will be having his due from the areas where Jupiter overreached within the last 10 years.

It's a prudent time for the US to scale back on war funding!

2010 - 2011: Yet Jupiter Dances with Uranus, Too

Right now, you know that transiting Uranus, that rebel and Awakener, is about to reach Aries Point (AP) with Jupiter on the AP track, too. Their first of three hook-ups of exactitude occurs @ AP on June 8, 2010, as previously mentioned on this blog and @ Jude's Threshold.

In addition, as both readers of SO'W know, I happen to be a lifelong artist of the pencil persuasion (with a Gemini Midheaven - Art and Astrology?)

And anyone who uses asteroids and myths in Astrology knows that asteroid Sappho relates to Art and Poetry of a feminine nature. Therefore, my natal Sappho @ AP will be visited on June 8, 2010 by two callers: jolly enthusiast Jupiter and quirky, inventive Uranus.

So Why Am I Telling You This Now?

Because there's a pretty good chance that my current Art project will be published by or around June 8, if I can complete the 12 drawings in time for it: a 2011 Calendar of pin-up gals from my Boudoir Blossoms Collection of cosmic-esque Chiffonery Art portraits!

It's been a holiday week/weekend with out-of-town guests to host and enjoy around SO'W and its environs. Hope your Easter and Passover have been perfect and still.
