President's Address to Congress 9.8.11 ends w Moon/Jupiter

Here's a link to the video of President Obama's Address to a Joint Session of Congress earlier this evening (9.8.11) which I blogged in real time for you here with some gentle Chiron in Pisces info tossed into the water.

Please pardon the link instead of providing you with the video itself, but after trying several news sites, youtube, etc, I'm giving up my attempt to embed the code--it's offered on a site or two but won't go live for me here. Maybe later it won't be as cantankerous but who has time for balking when there's so much to do?

One thing not mentioned in my post linked above is that at the precise end of the president's Address, the Moon/Jupiter midpoint arose and thus perfected a picture.

At 7:41 pm edt, Washington DC, Moon was in the sign of America's natal Moon (*27AQ10) but @ 8AQ, so right away we know that we-the-people have a Lunar Return soon--actually, this Saturday morning (@ 9:54:22 am edt) with the emotionally (Moon) expansive (Jupiter--but The Banker/General/Guru/GOP planet is Rx in **intolerant Taurus so he's keeping his powder dry as the Jupiterian Republicans did when they nixed the tradition of giving a rebuttal to the President's Address Thursday Sept 8, 2011.

Don't know about you but I didn't exactly miss their goatish rebuttal especially after Wednesday night's Republican 'Debate' of The Stubborn Jackasses.

Galileo much?

Thing is, I've noticed quite a few Moon/Jupiter contacts such as conjunctions in the natal charts of politicians whose mothers apparently led them to believe in themselves--that they could be or have anything they want. And yes, sometimes decent folk are attracted to what was once called the 'public service' aspect of Politics but usually it's the misguided ones without moral compasses who gravitate toward Politics, 'that organized system of hatreds', where their (presumed) preciousness is babied and whose main job is to shill and represent for their financial backers. And stay in power, of course. And propangandize the masses.

What that makes the majority of them, I'll leave for you to fill in since southern ladies don't often use such language.

But then we have a few more direct, progressive types like, say...Senator Bernie Sanders whose birthday is September 8--Happy Birthday, Bernie!

Some potentials for the Moon/Jupiter midpoint in Politics and Business include: a legal system that acts as a barrier to commercial or agricultural production, ineffective lawyers, and, sad to say, floods. (Munkasey.)

Moon/Jupiter = Ascendant: inconsistent ideas about the roles others play in your life; fortunate contacts; cheer and confidence.

As always, any, all, or none may apply.

*have I ever mentioned to you that the Sabian Symbol for US natal Moon (the American people)--'28AQ'--"A Tree Felled and Sawed" reminds me of the con v lib/R v D ruse that politicians of both parties (factions, really) use to divide ('sawed') we-the-people ('tree'), and the dismantling of our systems of government and civil society which we see in national and local politics now--is the felling.

Unless we bop the stastards. And we're all that can.

**intolerance, prejudice, greed, and stubbornness are the shadow side of the sign of the Bull, Taurus, the field where Jupiter Rx currently cavorts. But I'm speaking mundanely here, as always, so no critique of anyone born under the sign or having planets posited within its 30 degrees is intended!

Besides, you're not a politician, are you? jc

June-July-August 2010 brings attacks on Jupiter

Perhaps you've heard that Jupiter has experienced at least three attacks recently from what are probably meteors and comets.

It's been observed before - in 1994 and in olden days by the discoverer of four of Saturn's Moons, Giovanni Casini. Perhaps Jupiter's ongoing transit to Aries Point has helped put the Great Benefic's woes in the news since the Cardinal Points are where large events tend to manifest...and Jupiter's all about large, isn't he? He even has a broadcasting role to play when he gets a chance and a pulpit.

And with revolutionary Uranus enjoined with Jupiter, perhaps the 'sudden events' on planet Jupiter's surface are compliments of The Awakener, aka, The Witness, for Uranus is capable of providing sudden attacks or shocks to any system. Either way, one of my favorite planets, Jupiter, is under attack for a third time in August but in his guise as 'Zeus' or 'Jove' he seems to be holding up well so far even though Saturn opposes him and Pluto squares his desires!

(Ongoing is: Jupiter/Saturn = Pluto: tremendous perseverance; dramatic thrust of self; control of the situation; major change of situation; fearless.)

For after all, our solar system desperately needs Jupiter in his role along with Saturn as the Flywheel of the Universe which keeps the planets in their courses because their balance (Jupiter expansion vs Saturn restriction) is what holds planet Earth snugly in The Great Mathematician's hand.

The tension in their relationship undergirds the yin-yang, positive-negative, light-dark of our dualistic world!

Well, this evening Lady Luna joins Jupiter and Uranus and will be 'between' them at AP by late tonight and will sail just beyond them in the very wee hours of Friday morning. This gives three midpoint pictures to consider for our Moon-related daily rounds - well, nightly rounds, in this case.

From Noel Tyl's midpoint directory we find as Moon approaches Uranus:

Moon/Jupiter = Uranus: confidence; expectation of reward.

Then just before midnight (Aug 26, 2010) we have:

Jupiter/Uranus = Moon: opportunity for major change; looking ahead to success.

Finally, the Moon sails beyond the guru and the genius and for a few fleeting minutes there's:

Moon/Uranus = Jupiter: sudden success; large plans to put the self forward.

Yes, 'fleeting' is the word when it comes to the fluctuating Moon in transit, but these days we all must look for a spot of relief wherever we may find it, however brief.

And for expert info on the pairing of Jupiter and Uranus you can't do better than Scotland's Anne Whitaker who has a blog dedicated to the exploratory, eureka! combo at Jupiter Meets Uranus.

Hope the Moon-Jupiter-Uranus hook-up brings you a good and restorative evening!

Jupiter and the Moon Oct 26, 2009 + a new sunspot

Space Weather News for Oct 25, 2009

BIG SUNSPOT: The sun is showing signs of life. Sunspot 1029 emerged over the weekend, and it is crackling with B- and C-class solar flares. The active region's magnetic polarity identifies it as a member of new Solar Cycle 24. If its growth continues apace, sunspot 1029 could soon become the biggest sunspot of 2009.

Check SpaceWeather for animations and updates.

MONDAY NIGHT SKY SHOW: When the sun sets on Monday, Oct 26, go outside and look south. Jupiter and the Moon are converging for a beautiful conjunction. The bright pair can been seen even through thinly-clouded skies and city lights. Don't miss it!

CONNECT YOUR PHONE TO THE SKY: Would you like a call when Earth-orbiting satellites detect strong solar flares and solar wind gusts? Sign up for Spaceweather PHONE to turn your telephone into a bona fide solar activity alert system.

Jupiter, the Moon, and ISS flybys

Space Weather News for July 16 and 17, 2008

PRETTY SKY ALERT: The brightest lights in the night sky are having a get-together. On July 16th and 17th, Jupiter and the nearly-full Moon will be side-by-side in the constellation Sagittarius. The pair rise in the southeast just after nightfall and remain visible all night long.

That's not all: The International Space Station is making a series of evening passes over Europe and North America and it will join Jupiter and the Moon over many towns and cities.

Check the Simple Satellite Tracker to find out when to look: Flybys!

COLLIDING STORM UPDATE: Earlier this month, Jupiter's Little Red Spot got caught between two larger storms (the Great Red Spot and Oval BA), and the Little Red Spot was destroyed. Or was it?

New amateur photos of Jupiter show that the Little Red Spot may be re-forming. Not only that, it seems to be drifting back toward the Great Red Spot for a second collision.

Updates will be posted on SpaceWeather.com as the storms converge anew.
