January 22, 2020: For those who have been living their lives instead of paying attention to the degrading turmoil on Capitol Hill with America's future as a constitutional Republic at stake, here's an insightful recap so far of Trump's Senate Impeachment Trial from progressive broadcaster and author Thom Hartmann:

America, Neptune-Pluto, and Organized Crime

January 22, 2020: Ordinarily the topic of the transpersonal Neptune-Pluto pairing here on Stars Over Washington has had most to do with the Robber Baron Class of the late 1800s and its biological and ideological spawn who continue to bedevil society. But now that organized crime in the form of global and domestic criminal networks and syndicates are running America from the White House, let's consider in this post the planetary pair in its criminal underworld capacities which include drugs (use/abuse, trafficking, etc) and occult practices.

(As implied by the image, the US Federal Reserve as part of the world banking system falls into the syndicate category as well and some would call the big banksters and their operatives a criminal enterprise, perhaps of the fox-guarding-the-hen-house variety and worse. Perhaps you disagree, but there it is. And note that in Astrology, Cupido can signify The Syndicate, The Family, and/or Corporatism with 'The Family' suggesting the Mafia and/or the 'religious' group that focuses on gaining political and worldly power as detailed in Jeff Sharlet's book, The Family and dramatized on Netflix. This group holds the annual 'National Prayer Breakfasts' on Capitol Hill, you know.)

Neptune-Pluto: Mired within Their 492-Year Cycle

Now as you know the current cycle of Neptune and Pluto began with their triple conjunctions of 1891 and 1892--specifically on August 2, 1891 @8Gem38, November 5, 1891 @8Gem19, and April 30, 1892 @7Gem42. As you see, these degrees are within orb of America's natal Uranus (8:55) of July 4, 1776 so a midpoint picture of potentials (any, all or none may apply) is worth our consideration using Ebertin, Munkasey, and Tyl as our sources:

Neptune-Pluto = Uranus: peculiar discoveries; flair for the unusual, mystical, supernatural, and/or adventurous; hyper-sensitive nerves; disruption to gain recognition; adventurous ego thrust; making waves to get to shore; possibly aberrant behavior; courage; adds to impersonal attitudes about any destructive or antisocial activities; emphasizes unusual means to escape from or change reality; rebellion against artificial supports or pursuits; tendency to go to extremes with drugs.

Other inferences can be made about the pair working together as well: idealism, laxity, merging, vagueness, disappearance, disguise, thievery, loss of Neptune combines with Underworld 'god' of Hades Pluto's tendencies toward extreme wealth, stealth, and death (hidden hand Pluto, the Secret Assassin, the dragon, etc). Both planets are slow-moving and thus karmic in that reap what's been sown kind of way.

Now my suspicion is that you recognize Trump and Co. and his foreign pals snuggled within many of these potential descriptions and possibilities. And we should note the Solar Eclipse Saros Series containing the last conjunction of Neptune and Pluto on April 30, 1892, for their conjunction occurred a mere 4 days after the Total Eclipse of April 26, 1892 in the 2 Old North series. And curiously, 2 Old North happens to be the Prenatal Eclipse series of Donald Trump which repeated on July 12, 2018 @21Cancer near his natal Saturn and Castor, a star with potentials for fame, loss, crippling of limbs, mental illness, and/or murder (A. Louis). See what Donald was up to and where he was on July 12, 2018 in this handy Timeline and note that also on that date, Robert Mueller indicted 12 Russians for hacking Democrats (to help 'elect' Donald).

And of course you know that Trump's natal Saturn @23Cancer is under stress now from transiting Saturn in Capricorn--opposes his Saturn, in fact, which Saturn, planet of accountability, precisely did on the morning of January 21, 2020--the day his Senate Impeachment Trial got underway. Now so far I haven't heard any obvious mention during senate proceedings of organized crime but my suspicion is that many if not all of our senators have had dealings of one sort or another with underworld figures, foreign and/or domestic--other than dealings with Trump and Co. Oppressive dealings such as blackmail and physical threats, it appears to me.

Jan 21, 2020: it's Saturn vs Natal Saturn Day for Trump!

January 21, 2020: As you see from the new colors, Stars Over Washington is in mourning today and until further notice. Not so much for Donald Trump but for America for We The People are mired within a Saturn-opposite-Saturn phase with him. As you know, the Republican-held Senate has a yacht-load of Trump's misconduct to hide from the public on behalf of their compromised mob-boss-in-chief and his Impeachment Trial gets underway today at 1:00 pm ET on Capitol Hill. Whatever the trial's outcome, foreign operatives have, in a sense, already won against our once proud nation with all three branches of the US government infiltrated and in process of being sabotaged.

Now obviously, the Republican Party is under sway of foreign powers, completely 'bought and paid for' and blackmailed with their own crimes and secrets, so all we have to defend and salvage what's left of our democratic Republic is the Democratic Party. Now Saturn, planet of accountability, is strong in its own sign of Capricorn and is attended by powerful Pluto, also a karmic planet. Both planets are challenging the watery Saturn in tribal Cancer of Donald Trump--and the Saturn opposition is exact this very day. Fated undercurrents swirl beneath us and a titanic power struggle is engaged between global and domestic crime syndicates vs the political class of Washington DC, my former city of residence. Will a few GOP senators heed Saturn's message of accountability and leave the dark side for the light?

In the nearly 15 years of writing SO'W, several times I've typed how I don't appreciate what 'they've' done to the place--meaning politicians, their corporate donors and enablers. And my lack of appreciation was never more true than the authoritarian change of direction figurehead Trump has instigated upon our nation since 2017 and will continue to instigate if he sleazes out of his current pickle and manages to finagle the November 2020 Election into handing him four more years--with lots of help from the usual GOP cheating. After all, he can't "win" without lots of funny business. Yet reluctantly I must admit that Election Day planets look 'good' for Trump which to me means bad for our country--for the entire world, in fact.

So yes, yours truly is one of those Vote Blue No Matter Who types, SO'W is in mourning today, and I pray that fairness triumphs during the Senate Trial so that Donald Trump may finally reap what's he's sown as the natural law of karma requires of everyone born upon this Earth. Plus, timekeeper Saturn says the hour has arrived for glass-chinned Trump to step up and take what's coming to him.

A Fake Impeachment Trial for Donald Trump?

January 18, 2020: Next week's Senate Impeachment Trial of Donald Trump has the partisan, compromised thumb of Senate Leader Mitch McConnell heavily upon it.

As you know, if witnesses and documents can be kept in McConnell's lock box he'll do it--he'll do anything to keep a lid on the public's knowledge of the crimes of Trump and in effect, Mitch will mastermind a cover-up of his crook-in-arms.

What if anything my previous post concerning the Astrology of the Senate Trial does to address these shady circumstances I don't know. It probably doesn't.

But a January 17th article in The Nation penned by Elie Mystal does address such issues concerning the trial and McConnell's role in the proceedings and I highly recommend his article to readers who have yet to encounter it!

Yes, astrologers know that deceit, corruption, fraud, fear, and paranoia are busy factors in modern society particularly when Neptune is in Pisces (and the Republican Party's natal Neptune from 1854 is in Pisces as well, hence the party's recent Neptune Return(s) and their corruption and criminality which have floated to the surface of public awareness).

Shall We Say Fare Well to America's Enlightenment Ideals?

Meanwhile, the fact that truth--Truth--in the form of evidence will be avoided by Senate Republicans next week is a certainty to the extent that our public outcry is too weak to force McConnell to allow witnesses to testify. However, if a real trial turns out to be the case, previously hidden documents, obstructed from view by Trump, should also see the light of the Senate chamber. This is on us! For crying out we must for the sake of our country--against those who attempt to throttle and sabotage America and transform her traditional principles embedded within our Freedom Documents into a pile of rubbish fit for tyrants and a neutered We the People. Did America's Founding Fathers plan this perverted outcome? I seriously doubt it. That old orders must pass so that new orders can emerge is a natural process but the dystopian Republican 'vision' is devilish, harsh, and way too draconian for me.

Therefore, without robust public demands, Republicans will go merrily on perverting justice and undermining democracy for the sake of a corrupt Donald Trump who considers the US Constitution a mere roadblock on his way to monarchical tyranny. But from here, Trump's 'roadblock' looks more like a piece of paper stuck to the bottom of his shoe as he laboriously ascends the stairs to Air Force One.

DC Horoscope: Trump Impeachment Trial 2020

Update January 19, 2020: ABC News announces 1:00 pm est as the opening time of the January 21st Senate Trial. This puts 3Gem28 on Ascendant and 11AQ06 at Midheaven. A few planets change houses: Moon from 8th into 7th, Venus from 11th house into 10th, Chiron from 12th to 11th, and Sun and Mercury join Saturn and Pluto in 9th house from 10th while 9th house Jupiter you see in the chart below moves into the corporate 8th house. North Node leaves 3rd to move into 2nd house and only the Moon changes degree from 23Sag28 to 24Sag00; Mars continues to lead the tilt of the BOWL shape of planets which denotes 'advocacy of a cause' or 'furtherance of a mission' (Jones); Mars in Sagittarius enjoys the fight and has a need to convince others of his ideas.

Born with testy Mars rising, we should note that transit Mars heads toward Trump's natal Moon (exact February 3: an energetic but unfavorable time for pushy behavior) and forms an opposition to his natal Sun (exact February 5: urge for self-preservation, ego competition, conflicts); someone helps with problem-solving (Mars trine natal Mars exact February 11), but there may be disappointments and leaks on or about February 24 (Mars square natal Neptune). The month ends with Mars opposing Trump's natal Mercury on February 29 (hectic events, rash actions, anger, hostility, criticism, sarcasm, and a potential for injuries).

Horoscope: Trump Impeachment Trial January 21, 2020 12:00 pm est Capitol Building Washington DC; Hour of Saturn, the lawmaker, task master, lesson bringer, and planet of accountability. As you see, transit Saturn opposes Trump's natal Saturn on January 21st and transit Pluto will precisely oppose his natal Saturn on February 13, 2020. Therefore, abuse of power issues abound, plus, silent activities are suggested by the presence of the Saturn-Pluto duo. As you know, Senators must sit silently and listen, and their historic procession delivering the Articles of Impeachment from House to Senate seemed a very Saturn-Pluto affair (similar to Masonic processions--and there they slowly marched in the symbolic heart of the Masonic temple we call the Capitol Building!).

Then as you see in the chart, the star of the Unconscious, Menkar, rises (14Tau32) which is the same Ascendant sign, degree, and star as the Oath of Office on January 20th every four years. Obviously, Trump's taking of the presidential Oath to preserve, protect, and defend the US Constitution, and charges that he has not kept, does not and will not keep, the Oath, is what the trial (Ascendant, the What Point) is all about, plus, Trump's obstructionism of documents and witness testimonies.

At Midheaven ('MC'), the Goal Point of the chart and trial, is 26Cap30 which hosts US natal Pluto Rx (27:33) just as at noon on our Inauguration Days. We can thank FDR in 1937 for changing our nation's inaugural date from early March to January 20th which placed US natal Pluto atop the chart with Menkar rising. To me this seems like power and control as the goals with 'saying what must be said' as the task (Menkar--like Jonah and the Whale). This the US presidency as mouthpiece, bully pulpit, etc.

Meanwhile, chart-ruler Venus in compassionate (or shady) Pisces makes three applying aspects: 1. sextile Jupiter suggests a favorable time for social and political activities and events; 2. square Mars adds energy to the proceedings and conflicts, and indicates competitive spirits that can become aggressive; 3. conjunct Neptune denotes people within the environment who are mysterious, elusive, disguised (Russian or other foreign agents on the scene?), and/or are difficult to pin down. Lots of photographs are taken and are passed around (Trump posing with __, __, and __? surveillance photos?), and success with abstract thinking is a potential.

February 2020 Lunations into March 2020

The lunations of February 2020 begin with a Full Moon @20Leo00 on February 9th, the 'bookend' or culmination phase of January 24th's New Moon @4AQ22 suggesting a seeding of intentions (New Moon) in January holding over into February. That this continuation relates on some level to the Trump Senate Impeachment Trial is a distinct possibility--As Above, So Below! And of course, the Leo-Aquarius axis (5/11) is the Self-Will axis that involves Risk-Taking, Speculation, Groups and Associations. And for Trump this axis contains his rising Mars and Ascendant with nothing to balance them except US natal Moon in Aquarius setting on his natal Descendant. Actually, the Trump's Mars opposing We The People (Moon) aspect has filled our association with antagonism, aggression, emotional volatility, anger turning to rage, frustration, conflicts, insults, mishaps, and danger--on both sides of the equation.

As for the 2020 Election, four more years of our shared Moon-Mars opposition would be more dangerous than many people can now appreciate so hopefully Trump will be evicted from the Oval Office, one way or another before November 2020. Yet I must unhappily add that the astro-signs for a second Trump term look 'good' unless something untoward occurs to keep Trump off the ballot. Well, apparently, Trump's Senate Trial seeking his accountability will begin on January 21st. If so, this is the very day that transit Saturn precisely opposes Trump's natal Saturn. So I say, As Above, So Below! May Democracy trump Trumpian tyranny via documents and witnesses!

Now the second lunation of February 2020 is the New Moon @4Pis29 (conjunct starry Fomalhaut) on February 23rd which culminates with the Full Moon on March 9, 2020 @19Vir37, another continuation of ideas, plans, and conditions into the next month and which activates the Virgo-Pisces Victim-Savior axis (6/12), also a place of compassion.

Trump's Troubles: Letting go, Walking Away, or Brazening It Out

January 14, 2020: Knowing no confirmed opening date for the Senate impeachment trial of Trump in order to set up a horoscope of the proceedings, here are Trump's current transits instead.

But like a ray of sunshine, Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) said on Monday (1/13/2020) that "it feels like" opening arguments could begin on January 21st which would be an appropriate date since that is the very day that transit Saturn, planet of accountability and karma, opposes Trump's natal Saturn, once and only once. As you see, this opposition is highlighted on the transit list (done before I read of John Cornyn's 'feelings' about the matter) along with another titanic transit of karma affecting Trump's sense of responsibility and realism on February 13th when powerful Pluto opposes Trump's Saturn--the first of Pluto's three oppositions. (2. July 12, 2020, and 3. December 20, 2020.)

So Trump's karma, the natural law of reaping what's been sown, suggests yet another year of problems piling up for him as rigid authority figures expect 'too much' from the erstwhile culprit (and his Republican sidekicks). Will Trump's troubles become more real to him once the trial opens, perhaps on the very day that Saturn opposes natal Saturn? Well, Saturn is the planet of reality. Plus, how karma-on-steroids can it be that the Great Conjunction of Saturn and Pluto exact on January 12, 2020 @22Cap46 directly hit Trump's natal Vertex?! Fated encounters, changing work conditions, endings, and/or a wish fulfilled are the possibilities.

Then taking the primary transits to Trump's natals as a whole, there are suggestions of letting go (Saturn inconjunct natal Sun; Jupiter inconjunct natal Pluto) and even a strong hint of walking away from a power position that has turned sour (Pluto inconjunct natal Sun--number three of five, an ongoing potential). Obstacles continue to mount (Jupiter sesquisquare natal Mars) yet a measure of confidence appears or reappears on or near the day that Saturn trines his natal Midheaven on January 25th. However, his confidence may turn out to be the usual pie-in-the-sky fantasy inspired by Trump's natal Mercury-Neptune square since heavyweights Saturn and Pluto are seriously bombarding natal Saturn in tribal Cancer (bringing his supporters into the Saturnian picture) while dredging up his past actions, unsavory as they may be. Yes, this is a period when correcting past mistakes is demanded by lesson-bringer Saturn, here wearing his legal eagle cap, but as we've been told, Trump never makes mistakes!

And so for Donald Trump, February 2020 is filled with frustration over restrictions (Uranus semisquare natal Uranus, his guiding planet), tensions, separations or breakdowns in relationships (Saturn opposing natal Venus--number one of three), a lack of deliberation and/or of common sense, making excuses, expressing cynicism (Jupiter square natal Jupiter), letting go of goals and taking a new path (Jupiter inconjunct natal Uranus--number one of three, an ongoing potential), a continuation of confusion and the feeling that his life is out of control, his rights are being eroded, and a lack of freedom plagues him (Neptune square natal Uranus--number three of three).

Last but not least, February 2020 ends for Mr. Trump with potentials for unrealistic expectations, disillusionment, and disappointment via the Nodal Axis, head and tail of the dragon, squaring his natal 2nd house Neptune so perhaps his fervent fever dreams (Neptune) of keeping his financial activities (2nd house) well hidden will be dashed as the Nodal Axis suggests public scrutiny and the square implies his inept, impractical responses that will help to spotlight his subversive efforts to hide the truth.
