Quake hits DC but Obama doesn't 'feel it' (an astro-peek)

When asked, President Obama said he 'didn't feel' the quake Friday morning yet some in DC definitely did feel it.

The LAT published a feature on the 3.6-magnitude earthquake that shook parts of Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia and Delaware on Friday July 16, 2010 @ 5:04 am edt according to a lady near Gaithersburg MD, the center of the action.

And this, coming a mere 4 days after CNN/Money Magazine again named the town a 'Best City' so I guess this shows that pride can indeed come before an earthquake wakes you up way early in the morning and leaves you wondering what just happened.

Well, if you're the type to look for synchronicities, you might be wondering if politically, those in the White House should have felt it especially with November midterms 2010 coming up. Or perhaps should I say, admitted to feeling it.

Mr. Obama's scheduled 'run for it' weekend vacation with the family unit is certainly not seen by this reluctant astrologer as in any way connected to what a quake-feeler in MD described as "really loud" and "like a plane flying really low."

If on another level Air Force One is flying really low these days it is to be expected. The Gibbs-on-Meet-the-Press brouhaha of this last week seemed on the vicious, if threadbare, side but the BOP (Big Oil Party) made the most of it. Yes, I like that nickname for them. It fits, yet we mustn't leave out Big Oil's Dem donation recipients including the President.

On MTP last Sunday, Mr. Gibbs said that there were enough seats in play for the GOP to gain control, not that they would, but that (in other words) it is mathematically possible. At least, that's what I heard him say as it was broadcasted. A red herring, perhaps, but there it is. Follow its fishy scent to the exclusion of more important matters and events, if you wish, yet it's all political theater, dahlink.

An Astro-Peek at the DC/MD Quake of July 16, 2010

With 11Can57 @ ASC (July 16, 2010 5:04 am edt White House) and South Node rising (a Saturnian point of separation which so recently conjoined US natal Sun and thus, caused problems for Mr. Obama as 'the leader') we may also expect that the July 11, 2010 Solar Eclipse @ 19Can24 (which is also rising in the quake chart) to have a connection to the experience of an earhtquake since quakes and other natural disasters are often heralded by eclipses (as noted through the cneturies; a tragic example for the people of China is the Solar Eclipse of August 1, 2008 occurring at the start of the Beijing Olympics, with George Bush in attendance.)

After all, the time of a quake 'marks' a specific moment in time for we may set up a horoscope when then acts as a transit chart if nothing else - a snapshot of a moment in time for a particular location.

It's an Hour of Venus yet the chart-ruler is the 4th house angular Moon 26Vir48 (Virgo, an earth sign) with Mars 21Vir50 angular from the 3rd house (the neighborhood); Saturn, ruler of soil and tectonic plates, is at a critical degree: 29Vir36 in 4th house. The trio of Mars, Moon, and Saturn are indicative of heat, movement, fluctuating conditions, and pressure in the earth.

Chart-ruler Moon makes six applying aspects in the Quake chart and all I can do at this moment is list them chronologically for you:

1. semisquare Mercury 12Leo15, 2nd house, 0A27, conjunct Mr. Obama's natal Sun);
2. incojunct Neptune 28AQ11 Rx, 9th house, 1A23; Neptune is still within orb of most positions for US natal Moon (we-the-people if you use July 4, 1776 with n Moon in the 18AQ - 28AQ range);
3. conjunct Saturn 2A48;
4. opposite Uranus 00Ari33 Rx, 3A45 (associated with sudden natural events and disruptions), 3A45;
5. opposite Jupiter 6A31;
6. square Pluto 3Cap36 Rx in 6th house with NN 11Cap54, 6A48.

There may be aftershocks for up to approximately two weeks which may well be described in the Quake chart by the Moon's applying aspects which give a sort of timeframe. Ex: '6A48' can show 6+ seconds, minutes, days, weeks, etc. Potentially, Luna's symbolic conjunction with Saturn @ 2:48 and almost simultaneous opposition to Uranus are the last of the aftershock considerations within the timeframe of this chart, we hope.

And the Quake Moon actually joins in with the difficult Cardinal T-Square energies but not at precise degrees, for opposing Jupiter 3Ar19 and Uranus 00Ari33 Rx, both in 10th house and both relating to large events of a scientific, traveling, or lucky break nature (a brief respite in Maine for the Obamas?), testifies as to the 'mild' nature of the July 16 quake.

Both Jupiter and Uranus are ruled by an angular, incendiary Mars; Saturn may be considered angular as well so we have not one nor two, but three bodies which when angular can lead to big events and sudden manifestations. And when Mars and Saturn enter Cardinal Libra, the fur (political, social, physical, legal) may really begin to fly as their square to Pluto blocks - or perhaps blindsides - their energies; Pluto is in his ongoing transits of US natal Venus and natal Jupiter - personally, if I were involved closely in the stand-off Cardinal T-Square affecting world governments and populations, I'd flee far away, too, if I could.

Well, here we have a particular location - the White House - the construction of which must be braced up and lined extremely well not to have allowed its inhabitants to notice a 3.6-magnitude quake that reportedly jolted some folk from their beds. Maybe someone in the White House was advised not to mention it for its comedic implications abound.

President Obama's Mars Return July 17, 2010 w/ Quake Horoscope

An interesting factor for the President is that today, July 17, 2010, has brought him a newly arrived Mars Return (22Vir35; conjunct US natal Neptune), a new cycle of activity which gives a timed horoscope 'good for' Mars' two-year cycle (using BHO's natal chart set for 7:24 pm AHST on August 4, 1961, Honolulu, Hawaii.)

And with Quake Mercury 12Leo15 conjoined the President's natal Sun, it is rather difficult to believe that Mr. President didn't 'feel it' especially being such an aware, astute kind of guy and all. If still abed, it seems like someone would have awakened him from his slumbers. But perhaps he's grumpy in the morning.

So all this stuff causes the sass in me to wonder if an astro-someone advised Mr. Obama to travel elsewhere (leaving the White House yesterday) in order to re-locate his Mars Return 2010 which occurred today, Saturday, @ 11:11:54 am edt in Maine (and in DC)...does re-location result in a more positive chart?

When set for the White House, his Mars Return 2010 shows crisis-degreed Saturn 29Vir42 about to rise (ASC27Vir00); in Maine the ASC degree has entered early Libra so Saturn is just risen (and 'behind' him) leaving Moon 14Lib42 the only inhabitant in the 1st house, a much more fortunate portent; the July 11, 2010 Solar Eclipse in 1st house can be either positive, negative, or both but it's flavor is 'things at first seem worse, then clear with successful outcomes'. Could be worse!

However, Mars rises with Fixed Star Denebola, keywords: to go against society; to go against the mainstream, and in Maine ('maine-stream'?) puppetmaster Pluto is conjunct the Foundation of the Matter, the Ic, with US natal Venus and Jupiter at Midheaven.

Two symbols for the Solar Eclipse of July 11, 2010

Now that the July 11, 2010 Solar Eclipse is almost upon us, I've had a chance to check a certain book which has what I consider to be quaint symbols, The 360 Degrees of the Zodiac by Adriano Carelli.

Not every degree has a word picture but all have explanations based on empirical study; the symbols are from start to end of the 360 degr circle, and not keyed to one another as in books on Sabian Symbols such as that by Dane Rudhyar and Marc Edmund Jones. Some people have critiqued Carelli's book for that reason - one symbol doesn't 'lead into' another and the meanings of opposite symbols may have little or nothing to do with another.

Yet I find Carelli's Symbols useful in most cases, quite odd in others, and think that perhaps the July 11 Solar Eclipse @ 19Can24 may be elucidated on some level by considering Carelli'a symbols for '19Can' and '20Can' since the book recommends rounding down to the actual degree sans minute. This suits me since each degree is part of a process, as is life, and one degree 'finishes' as the next comes into being. Ex: a planet's position @ 15Can29 is no less '15' than '16' but is in process of evolving.

Now I won't quote the book in full but will give 'highlights' of both degrees' explanations which may apply in 2010 as best they may, or perhaps you'll discover that they describe certain persons of your acquaintance - or people in the news.

Plus, the July 11 Solar Eclipse carries some hint of crisis because '20Cancer' is a critical, sensitive degree and conjoins Fixed Star,Castor, whose potentials include: writing or creating; sudden fame or loss; crippling of limbs; mental illness; murder (A. Louis, Horary Plain and Simple.)

Click the link above and you'll see that the Eclipse occurs in the 8th house of Shared Resources, Credit, Insurance, Debt, and Transformaton when the chart is set for DC (and it is. This is Stars Over Washington. ;p)

In his book, Mr. Carelli uses classical literature and other chivalrous references which may give a quaintness to the information. Yet he is describing, of course, archetypal images from the Collective Unconscious; 'knights' still exist in 2010 but whether they retain their integrity as they should is quite another question.

Both degrees for the July 11 Solar Eclipse do happen to have word pictures which are the symbols themselves, and I shall quote whomever Carelli quotes in italics while attempting to streamline the rest.

(Note: You may notice that the 1st symbol has an Illuminati flavor; the 2nd symbol reminds me of Sirius in its 'Dog Star' role.)

'19Can' SYMBOL: A renaissance gentlemen, sword and dagger at his side, plays the flute before a book stand on which an ancient illuminated score rests. Other courtiers stand respectfully around.

'20Can' SYMBOL: A watchdog slumbering at the entrance of an old palace.

Midpoint pictures of the New Millennium Chart 2001 includes its Pre-Natal Eclipse Series (PE of the 21st century), the 2 South, which manifested on December 25, 2000 @ 4Cap15. So from 2000 to 2010, conscious and unconscious material synthesizes as events repeat in similar ways on various levels so they may be dealt with, and I believe this relates to the soon-perfecting opposition between societal planets, Jupiter (expansion) and Saturn (restriction.)

Their opposition is the 10-years-later culmination phase ('Full Moon') of their Great Conjunction of May 28, 2000 @ '23Taurus' = "A Jewelry Shop Filled With the Most Magnificent Gems" - when the seeds of our current malaise were planted, and which describes to me the wealth that's now been sucked out of the global economy and into Pluto's dark and selfish lair for Taurus is a practical Earth sign whose shadow side contains greed, possessiveness, intolerance, and prejudice.

Besides relating to the Republican Party (Jup) and Democratic Party (Sat) in US Political Astrology, the orbital dance of Jupiter and Saturn relates to stock markets as well, and it's been 10 years since the clock began ticking on world banking plans of political import - the first half of their cycle has been the up side; now we have 10 years of the down side until their next Great Conjunction of Dec 21, 2020 in Air @ 00AQ29, the current position of US Inaugural Sun (the leader.)

And I know this reminds you of the over-spending habits of the populace (Moon) of various nations and their should-have-known-better, ill-coping governments (Pluto in Cap), the bad habits which have brought mankind to the edge of a dizzying financial precipice, 2008 and beyond.

Austerity Cuts a Huge Mistake: Pluto in Capricorn

This morning I awoke to BBC's reporting of a morning announcement in London of 'austerity cuts' against the good people of the UK and if some had their way in the US we'd be - and probably will be - on the same make-things-worse road as FDR set us on in 1937.

Why, it's almost as if governments want things worse for the people and aren't trying to 'recover' financial systems at all!

Well, they do if all the sky-falling voices are correct (like mine) and the entire 'collapse' is an orchestrated charade that's intended to collapse the global economy so that totalitarianism can have its way with us and a long-planned one-world-government can be instituted.

Such is transformative Pluto traversing governmental Capricorn as in 1776 when America was founded as the 'new world government' on the block - and now Mr. Hades is destructuring governments again. That nationalist governments must fail is a priority for the power elite's New World Order movers and shakers and if individuals fail in the process, too bad - you're merely collateral damage in the class warfare now being waged.

What's also too bad is that so few citizens of the US and elsewhere have taken seriously the warnings about class warfare putting targets on their backs which have been given to anyone who would listen since (at least) the 90s. Successful propaganda campaigns against such heralds of doom have been used to make 'conspiracy theorists' appear to be wacky and off the mark.

Yet in most cases, we, dear reader, are not. Plus, even wacky folk can be right part of the time. I proudly count myself among their number.

Well, perhaps you caught Paul Krugman's June 19 article That 30s Feeling which agrees that austerity cuts will do more harm than good so here's its link for you, just in case.

And though it's true that Mr. Krugman won't mention anything to you about Pluto, Capricorn, or the tearing down of current forms and institutions to make way for a much-promoted yet already-lamented-by-the-people NWO, it's okay because I just did.

We must remember that that's why the power elite has worked for decades to knit all financial systems into a world network in the first place - so that the financial collapse with its subsequent governmental failures would be global when they get ready to pull the final plug.

Gemini New Moon conj US natal Mars June 12, 2010

Yes, I'd like to compose an article on the June 12, 2010 New Moon 21Gem which conjoins America's natal Mars, planet of war, strife, quarrels, and action but tomorrow's Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus at Aries Point has fortunately rescued you from the trial!

How can this be through time and space, from me not to you? What beneficial interference could occasion such welcomed relief for a hapless, innocent blog reader such as yourself?

Well, you may wish to thank my friend Depali Desai whose 'New Moon in Gemini' article on her excellent Celestial Space Astrology blog is just in time for June 12 and for nurturing the new seeds of intention you'll hope take root then!

Yet this is a Mundane Astrology blog of sorts attempting to take quick peeks under the hood of Politics so perhaps it would be remiss not to type the transiting midpoint picture potentials for you of June 12's New Moon conjunct the testy, contentious, testosterone-pumped Mars of the USA...

New Moon = n Mars: an urge to bring ideals and wishes to fruition; the realization of joint ventures; energy helping or upsetting relationships; anger; addressing problems; servile awareness in partnership; the drive for fulfillment; becoming more self-reliant; pushing others toward quicker progress (BP? jc); imposing one's will on others; a focus on strength; marriage. (Tyl; Ebertin; Munkasey.)

A note on that last one which relates to the US (Mars) yet dovetails with the Jan 15, 2010 Solar Eclipse 25Cap01 which suggests an important *ceremony or wedding occurring, perhaps a royal one - Princess Victoria of Sweden will be enjoying her royal wedding bash before the end of June - just before the end of the current Eclipse season (with the next Solar Eclipse occurring July 11, 2010 @ 19Can24.)

Thankfully, Sweden's royal wedding will not be held on June 26 when a marriage would have to begin under the rays of a Lunar Eclipse conjunct Pluto which doesn't sound auspicious for beginning new lives together to me.

Fortunately, the royal ceremony is set for June 19, the day when, for about 6 hours, Jupiter and Uranus will make a lovely parallel to one another, a kind of 'sealing the deal' of their Great Conjunction of June 8, 2010 at a World Point 00Ari18!

Plus, maybe the Lunar Eclipse chart set for their wedding's location makes beneficial aspects to the horoscopes of the bride and groom. And yet, as with all Lunar Eclipses, dark secrets are yet to be revealed!

Pluto Rx Station @ 5Cap25 April 6, 2010

The first minute that Pluto enters retrograde condition is on the evening of April 6, 2010 @ 10:34 pm edt, 5 Cap25. Of course, Mr. Underworld, the saboteur with the invisible helmet, is actually stationing on that degree/minute already, with its rather mysterious Sabian Symbol...

'6Cap' = "A Dark Archway and Ten Logs at the Bottom"...THOROUGHNESS...

positive expression: high competence in the interpretation of life's purposes or unusual persistence in employing its ramifying potentials effectively;

negative/unconscious/shadow side: fear of experience and bondage to mystery.

That's from Marc Edmund Jones yet perhaps Dane Rudhyar's analysis fits Washington politics and the new-economic-order type of plutonian puppetmaster even better...

'6Cap' = "Ten Logs Lie under an Archway Leading to Darker Woods"...

'Keynote: the need to complete any undertaking before seeking entrance to whatever is to be found beyond'. Rudyar goes on...

"Number 10 is a symbol of completion; it symbolizes even more the revelation of a new series of activities just ahead. Well, Pluto now pauses in what astrologers call a 'station' which occurs when a planet changes to Direct or Rx motion. And the symbol for the degree Pluto will next return to in his backward motion ('5Cap') speaks of warpaths and the 'spirit of conquest'.

At the White House, April 6, 2010, 10:34 pm edt, the rising degree 23Sco21 is ruled by warrior and instigator Mars, and co-ruled, if you will, by Mr. Underworld himself. So when we look for applying aspects of either planet in the Rx Station chart, we find only one: Mars inconjunct Pluto (1A07) with Mars 4Leo18 in 9th house of Philosophy, Religion, Higher Education, Higher Mind, Long-Distance Travel, and Jurisprudence, and Pluto 5Cap25 Rx in 2nd house of Money, Resources, Earning Ability, and Values.

By itself, Mars-in-9th-house signifies conflicts in spiritual matters and/or severe educational disruptions; here Mars is having trouble 'adjusting' to Pluto in 2nd house of Money - Pluto's Rx Station represents a 'pause'.

For America, this may relate to the Obama administration's overhauling of student loan programs, the continuation of campus riots and protests, and could very well emphasize wars (Mars) in Foreign Lands (9th house) - where, imho, the wealth of the American people is being funneled toward bankruptcy. (We are bankrupt, actually.)

The aspect Mars inconjunct Pluto, (150 degr, aka a quincunx) has a workhorse mentality with a compulsion to take on more responsibilities than it should - depleted energy is the result. This is an aspect of self-persecution! It's the 'so much to do, so little time' aspect. A bad-tempered arrogance is evident (but when is it not in Washington?) and efficient management of time is difficult under the rays of a crisis-promoting Mars/Pluto inconjunct. Well, hopefully by the end of this week my scanner will be repaired for I've not been able to scan and publish new charts (or new drawings!) for over a week now due to mischievous scanner gremlins.

Looking ahead, there are many more things to blog about including the proposed dates of Nov 8 - 11, 2010 as a period when a possible false flag op may occur on American shores and which some assert will put the attacks of 9/11 'in the shade'. (Thanks again for the heads-up, Mr. Smith!)

So if you, lone reader, have studied the horoscopes for this time period and have an interest in Mundane Astrology, please share, if you will. A big factor then will be Pluto Rx @ 3Cap+ conjunct the transiting North Node, the Head of the Dragon.

Therefore, the Dragon's Tail (SN) will be pointing to America's natal Venus in Cancer, our nation's chart-ruler if you use the Sibly version with '13Sag' rising (or the slightly earlier Rudhyar version.) This emphasizes the ongoing transit of Pluto opposing US natal Venus as our financial problems persist through the disastrous transformations of sabotaging forces. In fact, the July 11, 2010 Solar Eclipse may bring again the specter of total global financial collapse before the Eclipse's 6-month influence has faded.

Yes, the July 11 Solar Eclipse is in the same Series as America's Pre-Natal Eclipse (12 South), as we've discussed previously, so it's a 'biggie' for America: similar issues from the time of our nation's founding will resurface in order to be rehashed - and hopefully will be better dealt with on various levels. Plus, the Eclipse's crisis-ridden degree 19Can24 conjoins the UK's natal Moon.

The Pluto/NN Combination:

Besides 'powerful connections', Pluto/NN = sewage or waste disposal (including nuclear); agreements or treaties about reciprocal rights for data obtained through clandestine methods; violent criminals who enter the country secretly at any given opportunity; people who do not have the nation's or business community's best interests at heart; security or treaty breakdowns due to the actions of others.

Plus, November 2010's transiting conjunction of Pluto to NN is actually a Nodal Half Return to the chart of 9/11/01 - not comforting at all, is it?

Why, it's been about 84 years since revolutionary rebel Uranus, The Awakener and The Witness, streaked through this Mars-ruled area of the zodiac! The quirky, erratic Sky God of the planets can be associated with natural disasters, it must be added.

And after all, 2010 is a year of a Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus thus generously expanding the principles involved in the picture: transit Uranus = AP = scientific breakthrough/s of merit and/or significance. Jupiter/Uranus has a definite light-bulb-over-head vibe for brilliant insights to suddenly stun us with their ingeniousness. Air or space travel innovations may be on the menu and scientists' work on energy sources may be on the verge of a big publicity splash.

Now I know you'll keep in mind that July 11, 2010 brings along a Solar Eclipse conjunct a difficult degree in the zodiac (Tropical) @ 19 - 20 Cancer, a critical range traditionally; plus, Castor's reputation as a troublemaker precedes him.

Don't you find it a helpful trait when using eclipses in your charts that a precise birth time isn't necessary with Fixed Star and paran work (such as that of Bernadette Brady) for one looks at the entire 24 hours of the day - your day, the day or night of your birth, you cute little dickens, you.

With star parans, a horoscope is divided into quarters so that a lifetime is described by quarterly markers for life's chronological phases, and the Fixed Star/s during our day of birth, if any, are linked to a particular planet (or planets) as they arose, culminated, set, and crossed the midnight point at the Base or Foundation Point of the chart, aka The Drain.

(As I've wondered aloud here before: will a health insurance bill of some description and/or one for financial reform actually pass in the US Congress, a body that for decades has preferred to send US treasures overseas?)
