Krugman's The Great Abdication (1931 v 2012)

Historical Eclipses, 1930s v 2012, the Fed, and the EU Debt Crisis

If you've read economist Paul Krugman's NYT op-ed of June 24, The Great Abdication, you know that he likens the current financial crisis in Europe and how its creditor nations have chosen to come to the aid of Spain with the actions taken to similar events of 1931.

The Fed in the US and the Central Bank of Europe are missing their marks and not stepping up to take responsibility as it ought to be taken. Now this is a Political Astrology blog so is there an astrological parallel at all which might link together the failures of 1931 and the misdirected actions of 2012?

Well, since Solar and Lunar eclipses have influence upon the Collective in any area of the globe (and often do), perhaps the themes of the exuberant October 11, 1931 Solar Eclipse @17 Libra in the 5 New South Saros Series will suffice since it marched headlong into the 6 North Saros Series of March 7, 1932 @ 17Pisces (a critical degree.) Together they may provide us a window into how things were going during the last quarter of 1931 and into 1932 with Herbert Hoover as US president and the American people reeling from the Crash of 1929. Grand Schemes and the Fed: Exuberance Comes Before a Fall?

The 5 New South Solar Eclipse manifested a few months after a Great Conjunction of the Big Banker duo of power, Jupiter and Pluto (the Fed and their directors, the international banking houses) @19Can16 on May 27, 1931, and about one year prior to a Great Conjunction the Fraudster-Speculator-Wastrel pair of planets, Jupiter and Neptune on September 19, 1932 @8Vir25. As you know, the combined energies of Jupiter-Neptune are imprinted forever upon the Obama presidency--first term anyway--since they conjoined and began another of their 13-year cycles three times during 2009 and washed out US natal Moon (We the People) with grander scams, heists, and foreclosures than we care to admit. And we feel them rippling still.

October 1931: 5 New South themes are rather high-spirited (Jupiter was traversing tropical Gemini then as now)--joy, happpiness, peak experiences, benefits, good news. But then came 1932...

March 1932: 6 North themes are quite another matter and relate all too well to current events and the measley actions being taken: relationships to father figures and authority; the need to take responsibility and control; commitments are made due to other people's unreliability (paraphrasing Brady's Predictive Astrology.)

Or they should be if honest brokers were acting. But instead they're abdicating their responsibilities, as Professor Krugman points out.

Now you may know of many events from 1931 and 1932 which are described by the themes of either of these Solar Eclipses but there are two 6N events in particular which must be mentioned though one is from its earlier manifestation in 1914 @6Pisces:

1. World War I ("to make the world safe for democracy"!! Woodrow Wilson had already secretly pledged America into the war when he campaigned on that absurdly propagandistic slogan--at the direction of war profiteers, aka, international bankers and their agents in the US. Big bankers make much much more money loaning to governments than to ordinary folk. President Abraham Lincoln of greenbacks fame didn't fall for their usury interest rate schemes to finance the 'Civil' War and you know how his story turned out.)

2. The Bonus Army of 1932 when President Hoover ordered Douglas MacArthur and the army to fire on US citizens who had honorably served their country and needed the promised pay earlier than the 1945 date that Congress had irresponsibly set. For as you know, by 1932 the nation was into the Great Depression and families needed to be fed.

But Hoover's Bonus Army Mow-Down doesn't provide the typically glowing image of Pennsylvania Avenue so often cultivated these days to exalt Washington DC, does it?

US Mars in Gemini turned retrograde by progression in 2006 and its effects continue to turn the energy and action of the police planet, Mars, inward toward the American people, the innocent and the guilty; our national Mars will remain Rx for about 74 more years.

Shhh-h-h! The scanners aimed at your car and collecting data on where you go, how often, and with whom are supposed to be a secret your local police department doesn't want you to know about, you suspicious character you!

Plus, in Minnesota, Americans are being conditioned to see armed National Guard troops patrolling peaceful residential neighborhoods as you can see in this photo. This anti-American-citizen crusade began primarily under the presidency of George W. Bush and continues under President Barack Obama which suggests to me that a Higher Decider is to blame. Well, I've always noticed that the US presidency seems little more than a figurehead and a mouthpiece ("bully pulpit") with little power to make final calls on or changes to what globalists do in their drive to establish world totalitarianism, one of those Pluto-Chiron -isms that decent people love to hate.

So once again, at the risk of boring you, here is the Sabian Symbol for the Great Conjunction of Pluto and Chiron on December 30, 1999 (Clinton!) which melded their oppressive qualities into one. Their conjunction occurred on US natal *Ascendant, the What? Point of any chart and representing America as our Founders designed her to be at the time of the Declaration of Independence:

Hmmm..."unsubstantiated claims" reminds me of how someone has directed the state of Florida to purge suspected non-citizens from their voter rolls in time for Election 2012 and if they toss in the process names of US citizens who have every right to vote, well, too bad. Then may they toss out a few Republicans while they're at it!

Ongoing in Washington DC with 'no deal' reached over the weekend, the so-called debt talks and the August 2 default brou-ha-ha (Mercury, planet of negotiations and contracts, retrogrades on August 2--not good!) may in part be a set-up in order to make the creation of a sneaky anti-constitutional Super Congress seem necessary.

NPR has fresh coverage this morning of Washington's financial stand-off along with most other news outlets and blogs as both political parties 'hold stubbornly' to their sacred cows, red herrings, and favorite fear tactics meant to sway the public.

As you know, this play book has been used many times before such as when Barack Obama and pseudo-candidate John McCain, who theatrically 'suspended' his 2008 presidential campaign, rushed back to Capitol Hill to "rescue" the US economy and the global economy with it! Apparently the actual success of their 'rescue' efforts of 2008 remains in doubt circa 2011.

And of course, we know how things turned out--Wall Street was pumped up with billions of dollars to pay international creditors while Main Street USA continues to teeter on the brink.

Economist Paul Krugman's Sunday op-ed makes salient points about those substandard ratings agencies and the debt, while Robert Reich speaks up on behalf of Medicare and Social Security. Professor Reich was once a trustee for the Social Security insurance fund so he knows whereof he writes.

So yes, as you may imagine, the Jupiter-Neptune duo of speculators, spendthrifts, wastrels, inflationary measures, and grand schemes is active by midpoint on August 2, 2011 with Uranus in Aries ('Utopians'--Ebertin) as the catalyst!

Well, let's not forget that all through 2009, the first year of Mr. Obama's presidency, Jupiter and Neptune met in Great Conjunction/s (a 13-year cycle) directly upon US natal Moon (we-the-people) with this midpoint picture the results of which we still struggle with in an attempt to make heads or tails of our nation's true condition...any, all, or none may apply:

Paul Krugman: the 'Corporate Cash Con' (Pluto/Chiron)

Economist Paul Krugman's July 3, 2011 NYT op ed on the Corporate Cash Con being perpetrated by the global Pluto/Chiron criminal banking syndicate lays out clearly the power elite's scheme now throttling America's neck with Reagan's old 'trickle down' economics scam.

And Thom Hartmann renounced on his broadcast today (Tuesday July 5, 2011) the 'trickle down' theory of economics which didn't work then and hasn't and won't work now. Not for The Commons anyway. That'd be the rest of us who are not members of the select few (or acting as their servants.)

That's one reason why I prefer economists like Paul Krugman and Robert Reich to take part in the public debate. They express monetary theories and their consequences with what comes across as a humane point of view, what I might call a 'For the Commons' mentality.

And without that, what has the world got besides a global herd of rough-shod riding criminals, thieves, and political operatives fronting for the plutonian power-grabbers who direct them to beggar us all?

Dismantling America is their grand scheme, long in planning, and now being implemented in a social network or marketplace near you (fraudulent Neptune now at '1 Pisces' = "A Public Market.") The US Cash Cow has been milked dry and is being sent to the lower pasture.

Why, yes! Americans can start the experiment 'America' over. Re-gearing and calibrating our country for manufacturing again is being done here and there yet it must become our modus operandi. Family, religious groups, and community institutions (food banks, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, Boys' and Girls' Clubs, and other social aids) need our support. Plus, no one can know if they'll be the one to need a leg-up one of these days, right? The way this crew is acting, that is. Covet, covet, covet!

So the way I figure it, we-the-people are in this boat together, folks, it's the ruling class who have deserted what they intend to be a sinking ship of State. Yet if they are the ones who make up The State, may they shipwreck themselves while we sail to a brighter shore in a re-commissioned tugboat we call America. If we're of-by-for ourselves, the Invisible Government of The Masses will take up the (disputed) mantle of power and put on trial or toss out the brigands and charlatans...the usurpers.

No! It is not for Republican or Democratic politicians to brazenly wear the mantle of power for their authorization to do so wilts without Our Support. The legend is that America was founded so that the mantle of power belongs in truth to we-the-people; if diverted, then the character and identity of the "United States of America" ceases to exist. What Zionist *Utopians desire to build in its place, we've already seen in part since the 1980s when the top percent of citizens began raking in larger and larger profits, while the rest finagled to get by.

Why do I squawk? Why dissent? To be American is to dissent and I do so because America is my only nag in the race. And though political partisans may be a necessary evil for a nation that practices 'politics', we don't have to accept their lack of moral standards and secretive, high-minded allegiance to whatever creeds have ensnared their fancies for greatness.

This is no game, for Machiavellian types play for keeps: success at any cost as long as it's someone else's loss. This is currently and starkly illustrated by highly placed Republicans who bet on the US economy to fail.

As for the current political theater we're being treated to by Washington politicians, presidents, and operatives, let's glance in Thomas Jefferson's direction for a little wisdom along the Common Good lines this blogging gnat prefers:

"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."

Amen. (Scott Walker. Corporate Welfare. Big-Bank Bailouts...)

July 4, 2011 US is 235 years young

As the US begins a new year, may the Bush Tax Cuts expire and may tax loopholes for wealthy corporate jet lovers be closed. May US corporations pay their fair share in taxes. May militarist monarchs be stopped from dismantling our state governments, raiding workers' pension funds, and further ripping into our social safety net in order to give balding corporate geniuses on a mission an unearned financial 'break' they won't spend to boost the US economy.

How clear is it that outrageously wrong 'sacrifices' are forced upon the American people by the US government every time a baby, child, or a pregnant woman goes hungry in America?

Austerity Cuts a Huge Mistake: Pluto in Capricorn

This morning I awoke to BBC's reporting of a morning announcement in London of 'austerity cuts' against the good people of the UK and if some had their way in the US we'd be - and probably will be - on the same make-things-worse road as FDR set us on in 1937.

Why, it's almost as if governments want things worse for the people and aren't trying to 'recover' financial systems at all!

Well, they do if all the sky-falling voices are correct (like mine) and the entire 'collapse' is an orchestrated charade that's intended to collapse the global economy so that totalitarianism can have its way with us and a long-planned one-world-government can be instituted.

Such is transformative Pluto traversing governmental Capricorn as in 1776 when America was founded as the 'new world government' on the block - and now Mr. Hades is destructuring governments again. That nationalist governments must fail is a priority for the power elite's New World Order movers and shakers and if individuals fail in the process, too bad - you're merely collateral damage in the class warfare now being waged.

What's also too bad is that so few citizens of the US and elsewhere have taken seriously the warnings about class warfare putting targets on their backs which have been given to anyone who would listen since (at least) the 90s. Successful propaganda campaigns against such heralds of doom have been used to make 'conspiracy theorists' appear to be wacky and off the mark.

Yet in most cases, we, dear reader, are not. Plus, even wacky folk can be right part of the time. I proudly count myself among their number.

Well, perhaps you caught Paul Krugman's June 19 article That 30s Feeling which agrees that austerity cuts will do more harm than good so here's its link for you, just in case.

And though it's true that Mr. Krugman won't mention anything to you about Pluto, Capricorn, or the tearing down of current forms and institutions to make way for a much-promoted yet already-lamented-by-the-people NWO, it's okay because I just did.

We must remember that that's why the power elite has worked for decades to knit all financial systems into a world network in the first place - so that the financial collapse with its subsequent governmental failures would be global when they get ready to pull the final plug.

Paul Krugman says Obama "clueless"

This article by economist Paul Krugman will have to be re-read for I'm not certain the grain of salt I'm taking it with is large enough. Perhaps I'll mosey over to my neighbor's pasture - a serious salt lick may be needed.

So Mr. Krugman says that President Obama is "clueless" but I'll let him explain himself on that point.

My question: were the outrageous bonuses now being paid based on earlier contracts (during Bush's term) or where they not? If so, this too may have been part of a long-range plan - but the practice should now be shoved off the corporate table for those companies the American people have kept afloat with our tax dollars, at the least.

One thing that would explain all of the financial heisting, thefts, and deceptions under George Bush and continuing under Pres. Obama is just what FDR said: that nothing in politics is an accident - if it happens, you can be sure it was planned that way. Therefore, all is going reasonably close to how it was planned - the crashing of the world economy so that a new economic order can be set up.

If Paul Krugman or Joseph Stiglitz opened up on what they know about the power elite's world-domination agenda I could put away the salt shaker that goes into service each time I read something they've written. It isn't that what they write seems incorrect, it's that it doesn't go deeply enough into what's really going on, therefore conclusions are lamer than they should be. They punt rather than kick.

And it's difficult to believe that both of these world class economists are totally unaware of more than what they write about - or that Mr. Obama isn't part of the NWO agenda.

Well, that's my 2 cents' worth on a 'clueless' Obama who came into office and immediately studded his cabinet with many of the financial culprits who now pretend to care whether you lose your job or not! With that kind of behavior, how "clueless" could he really be? (Appointments as payback for getting him elected? That's no better, and still doesn't mean the President is "clueless"...more the opposite.)

So if Mr. Krugman's article is an attempt to plant propaganda that the President isn't part of the Really Big Picture, it isn't working here.

Will financial collapse be probed? I knew it was You, Reagan

The Washington Independent is asking Who Will investigate the Causes of the Financial Crisis? and apparently Congress is mulling over setting up a congressional committee to investigate after all.

But the list of possible names for the panel has a few huge clunkers on the Republican side in particular, most notably former senator from Utah Jake Garn, the same financial deregulator who sponsored the Garn-St. Germain Act signed by Reagan in 1982.

This would be the act that allowed Savings & Loan Associations to run amok with speculations that led directly to the S&L collapse (from which a certain member of the Bush dynasty had to be rescued by Poppy and the American people.)

The S&L crisis was then used as justification to author the easily passed Garn-St. Germain Depository Institutions Act which Paul Krugman cites (op-ed linked below) as putting responsibility for the current financial collapse squarely on the shoulders of President Ronald Reagan (where so much of it belongs, I agree.)

Who can forget former VP Cheney's defense of the Bush administration's and the GOP's drunken-sailor spending by saying that "Reagan proved deficits don't matter"? You'd have to go a long way to find a larger crock than that. Actually just go to Cheney's VP desk and the early Iraq war plans ("what we need is a new Pearl Harbor"), and Cheney's monkeying around with the US air defense system on the morning of 9/11/01...well, okay, you'd have a hard time choosing from the scam and crime lists of certain political cusses on 'both sides of the aisle,' as they love to say.

Yes, Paul Krugman's recent op-ed tells of Ronald Reagan's signing the Garn-St. Germain Act of 1982 which opened the door to the deregulation of the mortgage industry and cordially invited in the frauds of today.

And I'm certain Reagan felt that way since the signing of the act occurred so near Mr. Reagan's Jupiter Return of Oct 11, 1982! The signing ceremony was held 4 days later on Oct 15, 1982 with Reagan's remarks (as noted in the text linked above) delivered at 11:03 am edt, White House, DC.

You have to love it when the actual time appears on a speech's text!

Now this was during a Saturn Hour, with an unaspected Jupiter conjunct 12th cusp (a karmic spot in a chart if there ever was one - we're paying heavy debts now and into the future thanks to these past sorry actions of Reagan & pals; plus, Reagan was born with Jupiter conjunct South Node, an unconscious point in any chart, see *Jup conj SN details below)...an-n-n-d moneybags Jupiter (the Guru) had returned in 1982 to the zodiacal position held at Reagan's Feb 6, 1911 birth!

Sometimes Astrology can be so amazing especially when Big Events are occurring and the archetypes are acting right under our studious noses.

And, of course, you know that in Mundane Astrology (Political Astrology; Astro-Politics), Jupiter represents the Republican Party, Saturn the Democrats - which actually makes the Dems more traditional and conservative, with the Rs as the radicals with big money burning holes in their pockets if it's taxpayer money, but lining deep pockets when its theirs to pilfer. And with the Democratic Party being the older of the two, Saturn fits them on that level, too.

So what does it mean that the signing-ceremony chart's Jupiter is unaspected?

That Mr. Jupiter is acting as a law unto himself (and Reagan was acting on an unconscious level through his SN - unless Astrology had informed him - unconscious preoccupations are the hardest to transcend, as you know.)

So Jupiter isn't playing with the other actors (planets) in the scheme, a condition which emphasizes Jupiter's meaning by sign and house placement, and in this case, by the fact that this is Reagan's Jupiter in Scorpio, sign of Big Business and Wheeler-Dealing. Scorpio's natural house is the 8th of Credit, Debt, Insurance, Shared Resources, Transformation, the Occult, etc.

Jupiter in Scorpio indicates ruthless (Sco) striving for possessions and wealth (Jup), possible recklessness as bounds are over-stepped (Jup), and a tendency to delve into secret matters including the occult. Reagan's secret dealings with Iran come to mind as he orchestrated the delay of US hostages' release in Tehran and thus undermined the presidency of Jimmy Carter. Scorpio is also linked to betrayals, spying, and the Eagle of the US as it soars and surveys the world (from space, as it turns out. Naughty naughty Google Earth, too.)

Concerning the Reagans' known use of Astrology, perhaps the whole process of the finance-based bill's mark up, passage, and signing were timed with RR's Jupiter Return since this is usually an auspicious time of reward. By Reagan's "jackpot" comment mentioned above, he obviously was aware of what he was doing on a financial level, imo, and welcomed its promised abundance with which Politics had supplied him before (Jup conj SN.)

A Scorpionic Jupiter expands the will and one's sense of pride, while giving much subtlety to the personality. You've probably read through the years comments from those who knew him that they never really felt they "knew" him well - that even Mrs. Reagan couldn't enter all his self-absorbed ponderings. This self-absorption is part of Jupiter in Scorpio, often a moody and brooding sign.

At the North end of Reagan's natal Nodal Axis of Destiny is natal Moon 13Tau43, indicating that he was a hit with the American people for the most part (Moon conjunct US Inaugural Ascendant 13Tau+); or at least his reflection on the public image screen was pleasingly dazzling (including his film career.)

What we couldn't see as well was his ideologue Jupiter sitting on the tail of the dragon (SN) while making these important, far-reaching transformations to our financial system (Sco.)

Perhaps that's why the current financial collapse, a natural outcome of Reagan's signing of the Garn-St. Germain Act 1982, feels as if we're attempting to hang on to the tail of a dragon. The fire is burning the people - Moon - at the Northern end (NN = future direction), but the past (SN) has caught up and is knocking us over with the disastrous swish of a Jupiterian politician's tail!

Also: if you click to enlarge the Garn-St. Germain chart just below, you'll see that in the 8th house is the Solar Eclipse which manifested before the act's signing, from its Pre-Natal Eclipse Series, the 2 New North. If you read Brady's Predictive Astrology, you find that this Series' flavor is that of the #16 card in the Tarot deck known as 'The Tower' - when we experience a sudden collapse of lifestyles, confusion reigns; transformation and rebuilding after the dust settles; this reshaping has far-reaching effects and will change peoples' directions in life through the sudden collapse of existing structures.

Well, that certainly describes what's been going on currently especially if you consider the Garn-St. Germain Act to be the grand-pappy of 2008/09's econo-collapse.

And worrisomely, the difficult Solar Eclipse of July 21/22, 2009 is related by its occurrence at '29Can' which may trigger the sensitized degree of the July 20, 1982 Eclipse at '28Can' (2 New North) - both opposing US natal Pluto (27Cap) and progressed Pluto (29Cap.)

The July 2009 Solar Eclipse indicates systems failures and old methods/ideas suddenly need to be replaced by new ones; any blocks may be violently or tragically removed. So the 1982 and 2009 Eclipses are linked by degree, not Series.

Well, I really wish, lone reader, that I could be more positive about this stuff, but the Lunar and Solar Eclipses of August 2008 brought bad financial news and events that I didn't want to discuss either, yet I would've been remiss not to do it anyway, mostly at Jude's Threshold (see sidebar of Pages.)

Plus, astrologers will notice references to 'ice breaking' and the old vs new order such as the ongoing Saturn (old) - Uranus (new) opposition has brought into everyone's lives. Saturn and Uranus began their present cycle in 1988 so it's 1988 to 2008...20 years from inception to culmination with those who prefer the status quo of Saturn (banking system) clinging to it for all it's worth...which may be nothing, as it turns out.

And which side is the president on? Paul Krugman is accusing him of being too status quo - and Mr. Obama does have Saturn Rx in its own sign of staid Capricorn.

Today I've been catching up with Paul Krugman's blog entries and wondering if he's been correct all along - Pres. Obama's economic plan in its current form is too small to be effective as more job loss woes plague us into 2010.

Actually my intuition on the subject agreed with Dr. Krugman from the start and I do wish the party-serving critics of Obama and the Democrats would hush up their pie holes and let America heal her wounds, many of which were inflicted or enabled by politicians such as themselves.

Low marks for Paulson's bail out plan

Everywhere I look today, Hank Paulson's power grab, er...I mean 'bail out plan' is getting low marks.

Even his performances this morning on Meet the Press, Face the Nation (how could he? oh but he did!), and This Week with George Stephanopoulos, haven't swayed the doubters or calmed the "bail out foreign investors?!!" crowd. Confidence is showing itself to be hard to come by as taxpayers are expected to rescue Wall Street gentry who made "bad choices."

Yep, that's what compassionate conservatives once loved to say to anyone down on their luck: all through life, you made choices. Now the biggest of bad choices are nestled on the secret ledgers locked in the hidden drawers of bank executives' desks.

Then there's columnist Paul Krugman who says no deal to the Fed's massive bail out of Wall Street culprits.

Little Did I Know

You know back on Aug 26, 2006, when I was looking at Paulson's natal chart and publishing it here, I wrote that given Mr. Paulson's genius, he could probably run the White House himself.

Seems now he's making a power play for the opportunity to run the country.

Experts in finance and government once told us ad nauseum that if government "got out of the way," life would be peachy and all boats would rise.

It should be quite a while before we listen to those crocks again.
