A Presidency in Review: Who is Barack Obama?

Looking around for a general review of President Obama's Oval Office term with which to end 2010, I came upon John Pilger giving his assessment of President Barack Obama in July 2010. This may present the clearest picture yet of the man in the White House and the astrological synchronicity between our nation's *Neptune 22Vir25 (illusion, delusion, self-deception, fraud) connection to Mr. Obama's Mars 22Vir35, planet of motivation, action, and energy.

Neptune is also linked to the (collusive) media, the masses, large entities such as corporations, and Socialism.

Yes, the slogan-based 'Change-Hope' wool (Neptune) proved easy to pull (Mars) over the public's eyes and the mutual Obama-US Mars/Neptune link accounts for much of what some then considered Obama's dreamy rockstar appeal (remember the heady days of Campaign 2008? Obama Girl probably does.) Having his Neptune in sexy Scorpio added to the glamorous effect as well - still does - and helped sell the product: the candidate himself.

*The astro-link between US natal Neptune and Mr. Obama's natal Mars qualifies as a Mars-to-natal-Neptune transit for the US on his birthdate, August 4, 1961. The transit marks a time when getting to the bottom of who did what, why, where, or when is impossible or elusive (JFK Inauguration Jan 20, 1961), and the motivations of others are diffcult to ascertain. Health reform promise of Barack Obama Aug 2008

Now I know that campaign promises are perilously easy to make and devilishly hard to keep once the Oval Office door shuts behind a new president but for some reason, this one mentioning C-SPAN sticks in my memory given the week's announcement on health insurance reform legislation - and in light of how excellent an idea I thought it was when he said it:

"I'm going to have all the negotiations around a big table. We'll have the negotiations televised on C-SPAN, so that people can see who is making arguments on behalf of their constituents and who are making arguments on behalf of the drug companies or the insurance companies."

Perhaps the table was too big on camera?

President Obama's natal 8th house (Shared Resources and Finances, Transformation and Death Matters) is being traversed of late by value-loving Venus indicating more intensity in relationships and in contacts with others. Saturn has been traversing his 8th house for a while now indicating disagreements with others over values and resources, and a need to take more responsibility for 8th house issues, so his honoring just after midnight of the 18 fallen Americans arriving from Afghanistan fits well the requirements of Saturn through 8th house.

His willingness to pay respect in this manner for the value of life pleases Old Man Saturn.

And concerning the above campaign promise matter my intuition is that his statement as noted above could well have been only a candidate's attempt to protect his position in some way, on some issue.

Well, Mr. Obama is a politician after all which was visibly displayed again on his recent trip to NYC to ask for mega-buck campaign donations from the very banking titans who now pay themselves bonuses with our tax money gifted them by Congress.

As I've groused here for years: they're all in it together - against we-the-people.

Obama's anti-war speech Oct 2, 2002

NPR has a feature recalling the day of then-Illinois Senator Barack Obama's anti-war speech in Chicago on Oct 2, 2002--approximately two days prior to his Mars Return in Virgo.

As you know, Mars Returns time new 2-year cycles of activity--and Mars is the god of war. As you may know, Obama's natal Mars is conjunct to-the-degree America's natal Neptune, planet of idealism, illusions, and dreams.

Hence his touted 'rock star status' is real, but perhaps that's the wrong word when Neptune is involved. Actually, the public projects upon the screen of his image, more like.

Well, since there are no YouTube or other video of his anti-war speech dissing political hacks like Karl Rove, here's the speech's transcript if you'd care to read it--and then perhaps you may pardon me for the following cynical political rhyme:

And if we should end up with a President Obama, he'll be lone in Washington, imho, for who's going to allow him any cooperation or credit for accomplishing anything the People want or need?
