Meet the Tea Party candidates (video)

Alex D'Atria of GOP Thinks sent along this video with details on a gaggle of Tea Party candidates and their ideas of how to govern. The smorgasbord includes Sharron Angle and Rand Paul for your 'be very afraid' consideration.

Ah, US Politics...anything emotionally engaging that keeps the American people's panties in a twist, us at each others' throats, and the power elite in charge!

And here's an oldie but moldy concerning neocon Bill Kristol's 1993 political strategy memo which sent to the GOP on how to obstruct the health care reform that might have benefited the American people years ago. Now Tea Partisans are trying to obstruct the GOP's easy slides into Capitol Hill, and in some cases, the same for Democratic incumbents.

Now on a personal level, I find this political theater tres amusing.

But on a business-of-the-people level, any Tea Partisans who make it all the way and have ideas such as those expressed in the above video could manage to gridlock the political process more than they help our nation. Yet schizophrenically, I do agree with Tea Party activists that something needs to be done about how establishment Washington politicians have undermined our country and sold the American people down the tubes toward a global internationalist New World Order. So far I've yet to hear any of them approach topics in those terms, have you?

And because it's a common trait of human nature that ego games are played in every area of life (especially where money, power, and prestige are concerned), I have doubts that the Koch brothers' funded Tea Party movement, if victorious, will be any different than the same old egotistical power plays we've always seen in Washington - only the team members' names will be changed.

My suspicion is that switching middle management will make little if any difference, for Washington politicians' habit of succumbing to blackmail to keep their positions, and the control of politicians by powers behind the throne and 'special interests', will continue.

Meanwhile (though it may be entertaining) Tea Partisans seem to me to be playing on the bottom rungs of power when real decisions are made far above - where ballots are counted, and from whence our cat's paw presidents are installed.

Why, a Tea Partisan newly seated in the US Congress would be a mere kitten tangled in yarn! And ripe for very easy sabotaging, I might add.

Yes, it is most unfortunate for America's future as a sovereign nation that the infestation of Washington DC needs a lot more than out-of-the-mainstream candidates challenging traditional GOP and Democrat power bases to successfully clear out the vermin now rotting the American woodwork.

But perhaps it represents some sort of belated start.

Scary times, indeed. Just got this month's copy of Harpers and learned that the Iowa GOP platform includes a plank for abolishing minimum wage laws. Gobsmacking. Just gobsmacking. Evidently, there isn't enough poverty in America yet. 1 in 7 Americans live in poverty for pity sake. The rich have never been richer. The middle class (if I were to define it, that would include a family of 4 with up to $100K income per year) will disappear altogether and we will at last achieve what Scalia appears to have wanted all along - back to the origins when only landowning white men controlled everything. And I saw Huckabee, the erstwhile Christian minister, say that insuring those with pre-existing conditions is like insuring a house that's already burned down, or a car that's already been in an accident. And so the death panels begin. For the record, the Dems showed disgraceful behavior during the whole health care "reform" process made inconceivably worse by the GOP (can anyone say "Flip flop" after Huckabee's comment? BTW, he and Rush are looking rather "fleshy" these days but then they're rich so they don't need health coverage). Does anyone do the math regarding the financial benefits of H.R. 676? Guess not.

Indeed, we need to clear out the swamp but Citizens United presents an enormous obstacle that the legislative solutions don't cure. We need a grass roots up in arms about all the money in politics. Who'd a thought that "ministers" and politicians would be the next richest classes after Wall Street?

Saw a picture of a late middle aged woman with a tray of food in front of her - a picture of a woman forced into such poverty that she needs to eat at a soup kitchen. She looked like a former member in good standing of the middle class. After 30 years of bipartisan support for the benefits of the Laffer Curve, the bipartisan support for trashing all financial regs (and all other regs that so benefitted us), outsourcing and overwork of those lucky enough to have escaped downsizing, how do Mitch McConnell, the Iowa GOP, the GOP and Blue Dog Dems sleep at night? That I will never understand.

Any hopeful clues on upcoming elections or are we seriously devolving further towards what happened in Germany in the '30s? If you've already posted your prognostications, how do I find them since your website has been redesigned?

Thanks for all you do. All good things to you.

Wow! What good points you make. i totally hear ya and yes, i have 'prognosticated' a little on Nov election charts (7 am and 7 pm DC) but that's as far as i've gotten so far.

Looked, if i remember, as if Ds would be ahead early on (or seem to be - it isn't the ballots cast, it's who counts the votes - and who can trust voting machines any more?) like Rs would pull out some wins by evening's end. That's because Jupiter ends closer to the top of the chart.

But one would have to look for support at lunations and the Jupiter/Saturn cycle more closely, along w candidates' charts to the extent you have them (and i seldom have correct birth times for the varmints so it's a lot of work but w built-in discrepancies.)

Anyway, thanks a bunch for your comments. Consider me gobsmacked by the sorry embezzlers and their bankster/bandit pals. You've given me stuff to think about and i do appreciate it.
