America's Saturn Rx and Summer Solstice 2017

Saturn, Planet of Authority and Authenticity: from Libra to Scorpio

With Summer Solstice 2017 about to arrive at 12:24 am edt on June 21st with Saturn now in Sagittarius highly visible at the top of the solstice chart (set for DC), we may wish to review the past and current conditions of America's Saturn.

In 1996 US Saturn Turned Rx by Progression @3Scorpio under the presidency of House-impeached Bill Clinton whose tenure of turmoil helped undermine the authority, authenticity, and dignity of the Executive Branch and muddied America's reputation on the global stage. Tragic Mars-Pluto (Scorpio) style events of power and brutality involving government authority such as the Oklahoma City Bombing, allegedly a vengeful act committed in response to the Clinton-Reno-FBI Siege at Waco, kept Mr. Clinton busy as the office of the presidency dissolved in tatters, a result cheered by his Republican opponents. (The political strategy of R vs D theatrics is primarily just that--divisive theatrics, since it's really Rulers vs The Ruled.)

Obvious correspondences from the Clinton era to Donald Trump's 'presidential' behavior in the White House circa 2017 may be noted but for those who follow Trump's haphazard presidency--and realize that The Klan now leads America from the White House--it isn't necessary to mention them in this brief post. Mr. Trump is in process of threatening to leave or actually withdrawing the US from previous alliances in which America was leader (Saturn) and our Saturn's retrograde condition is part of that picture.

As you know, Trump's natal Saturn is debilitated in Cancer (Cancer opposes Capricorn, the sign Saturn rules). His natal Saturn is in 11th house, the place of Groups and Alliances, and Trump's resentments run deep while his natal Jupiter Station Direct in Libra relates to others with frequent protestations of "that's not fair!" The retaining of large amounts of money lurks at the base of the issue for the Jupiterian Mr. Trump.

Meanwhile, America's SP Saturn in Scorpio suggests potentials for esoteric, occult, and metaphysical study (which our Founding Fathers possessed as seen in their goddess Venus and Virgo fixations--plus, you've noted Trump's constant use of Freemason hand signals), transformation (destruction, then rebuilding via Pluto), obstinacy, endurance, a more serious outlook, and the urge to delve deeply into difficult problems (Ebertin). All this is quite a change from US natal Saturn exalted in Venus-ruled Libra, sign of diplomacy, values, and the Scales of Justice. Now I know that each sign represents progress issuing from the previous sign, and, one hopes, improvement.

But in this case, America's exalted Saturn of 1776 (trine progressive radical Uranus in Gemini, its brilliance and genius successfully poured into the Saturnian forms of our 'freedom documents' a la Plato) has been degraded now that US progressed Saturn (SP) is retrograde (moving backward) in death-dealing Scorpio while on the physical plane it uses its authoritative energies against (Rx) the American people and against the entire world.

And now we see actor Donald Trump withdrawing the US from certain areas of global leadership which then opens the way for other nations to take control of the power elite's Great Plan for global governance which makes him, knowingly or unknowingly, a foreign agent in the White House.

Perhaps you disagree but there it is.

Summer Solstice 2017: Saturn at Midheaven

) With old man Saturn at the top of the chart, this partially describes the summer season of 2017 in America. Neptune in Pisces rises in the chart providing instability, discontent, and a cover-up atmosphere to the proceedings. And of course, the Saturn-Neptune pairing always conjures the ghost of America's invisible (Neptune) government (Saturn) or what is called today the *Deep State composed of a faction of global imperialists who never met a war they didn't promote and profit from. Add other Saturn-Neptune indicators such as cuts for social safety net programs and sanctuary cities and the guns vs butter struggle is on.

A Saturn Summer with More Saturn

In Astrology archetypal Saturn denotes conservative politicians, executives, administrators, lawmakers, organizers, and other ambitious people--here visible at the Public Reputation and Career Point (MC) of the chart. Of course, seniors are also signified by old man Saturn which hints of the social safety net programs that are on Washington's political menu and the restriction and denial that conservatives have been determined to enforce since the days that FDR's New Deal began.

(How dare tax monies paid by We The People be used to fund their own needs? What a notion!)

Now as you know, in transit Saturn now tarries via retrograde in Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius, sign of The Seeker, traveler, foreigner, refugee and/or emigrant, and will enter its own sign of Capricorn in mid-December 2017 once the planet passes one of the Cardinal World Points of manifestation (00Cap00). Correct me if memory isn't serving here, but Saturn in Capricorn is not a good placement for the markets. And in light of recent political events, it suggests even more use of strong-arm tactics against We the People through actions of the Trump administration, the Justice Department, the EPA, our nation's Legal System, loosening of protective regulations and laws, and those klannish good ole boy police departments.

Now Saturn conjunct MC is a negative indicator if other planets afflict the duo but other than separating oppositions from Sun and Mercury which cause frustration, this is not so much the case for here we have Saturn in a Fire Grand Trine if we use the 6th house North Node in Leo as one of the triangle's points. This suggests a Saturnian person with leadership ability but one who is totally self-absorbed and demanding that his wants and needs be met immediately--an egotist, we could say. Wonder who this could be shown in the chart at the pinnacle of his career (MC)? Attention, approval, appreciation, applause, and reward are musts for this Saturn! And ixnay on accountability please! Never mind that Saturn only rewards such things as diligence, maturity, authenticity, and honesty, all of which may be problems for most of the political class, both here and abroad.

Meanwhile, the summer's trines to Saturn from radical activist Uranus (3S42) and the North Node (1A45; public contact/publicity/ future direction) support conservative Saturn in what is perhaps a closed circuit of energy denoted by the Fire Grand Trine but if not, these are definitely three trines of beneficial energies. The fact that both trines are separating (waning) in this chart may or may not be especially significant (and are unconscious) since transit Saturn will turn Direct on August 25th, shifting energies in more ways than one.

While stationing, planets gain strength, and Saturn's Direct Station in August hits directly upon Mr. Trump's natal Moon (21Sag) and South Node while opposing his natal Sun-North Node conjunction which suggests that his approval rating continues to be lukewarm and his work (Saturn) may lack all the beneficial rewards he demands. Health issues, relationships, and family matters (natal Moon) remain in the Saturnian spotlight as well, plus, transit Saturn simultaneously triggers the 'sapphire star' Ras Alhague with its health-and-healing connotations and other less desirable implications.

In the Summer Solstice chart, Saturn-ruled Capricorn falls upon the 11th cusp affecting Groups, Associations, Hopes and Wishes. The planet's restrictive, delaying energies bounce across the Cancer-Capricorn polarity into the 5th house of Risk-Taking, Gambling, Children, and other Creative Pursuits this summer so for those who follow the astrological effects upon the escapades and political notions of our groper-in-chief, the Summer Solstice 2017 Horoscope is a handy chart to watch especially since Gemini Mr. Trump in the Oval Office is playing the stand-in representative on the world stage (MC) for America herself.

Horoscope: Summer Solstice 2017 w/ Trump's Planets

Last year the Summer Solstice horoscope showed difficulties and many folk would agree that the 2016 campaign and election were trouble enough for their oddities, insults, hacking, falsehoods, exaggerations, intolerance, and overly Republican outcomes. Now it seems that our Republic is being tipped off its rails to a point of chaos, some say, so let's look ahead to the horoscope of Summer Solstice 2017 (set for Washington DC) to see if perspective can be gained concerning our nation's summer season until Autumn Equinox (aka, the Libra Ingress) rolls around in September.

Actually, a Spring Equinox (Aries Ingress) horoscope represents an entire year as a stand-alone chart or as a 'natal chart' for a given year with the year's equinox and solstice charts compared as transits to it. That's if one wants a fuller view and has a considerable amount of time, determination, and the software to effect it. But let's trudge on to June...

And note that Summer Solstice 2017 falls within the purview of the February 26, 2017 Solar Eclipse in the 19 South Saros Series while Autumn Equinox 2017 will occur after The Great American Eclipse of August 21, 2017 in the problematic 1 North Saros Series (August 11, 1999's 'The Mother of All Eclipses' that influenced the current Age of Terror, and the New Millennium. As you know, eclipses provide background influences within the Collective and often bring a disruptive 'wild card' Uranian flavor of unpredictability, new elements or trends, revelations of secrets (via leaks and otherwise), disruptions, and/or sudden changes of direction to the proceedings.

A colorful chart, yes, but hopefully you'll enlarge the image and read my study notes for not all can be discussed in this text; Mr.Trump's natal planets are in blue around the outside of the chart; two US natals from July 4, 1776 are penned outside the horoscope, too, but are not colorfully highlighted--US natal Moon conjoined by transit South Node (tail of the dragon) in the 12th house of Karma and Politics, and US natal Saturn in mid-Libra once again hit by transit Jupiter, a period when restrictions or limitations may be partially lifted.

As you see, nebulous watery Neptune rises denoting on its worst day, large issues or catastrophes that bring tears to many eyes. Through its own sign of Pisces, Neptune is proving its importance within the Collective Unconscious that it encompasses with its 12th house association and rulership of shady Pisces. Chiron is in 1st house, too, and brings its mentor-ship when in Pisces along with its wounding/wounded-healer qualities that the victim-savior axis of Virgo-Pisces can appreciate. Is this first-house picture a view of the Republicans' Obamacare 'repeal' that dis-insures millions of Americans?

Well, Neptune is one of the loss-bringer planets and was sitting atop US natal Moon when the ACA (Obamacare) was signed into law on March 23, 2010 giving the law a very iffy basis for its existence. For me, the GOP stance and arguments against Obamacare would have slightly more credibility now if they hadn't worked so hard to undermine it from the first. The ACA is a "failing law" they say, and they should know since they worked for years to make that happen.

Okay, many more chart factors are worth discussing and maybe we can do that later. For now, here's a view of the Summer Solstice chart with Donald J. Trump's planets scribbled around it and his quirky leading planet Uranus the first of his natal planets to rise in the chart. Looks like it's going to be a chaotic Uranian summer. Meanwhile, we can expect Mr. Trump to get in lots of golfing as the weeks go by. No worries on that score.
