King Charles III: Crowned During His (Jupiterian) Nodal Return!

Of course by now, most every Earthling knows of the double Coronation of King Charles III and Camilla set for May 6, 2023 at Westminster Abbey, London, UK. The controversy over second wife Camilla has apparently faded, for in February 2022, Queen Elizabeth II declared her "sincerest wish" that Camilla be titled and crowned queen. So if it's okay with Charles' mum, it must be okay with you and me, despite any pro-Diana misgivings one or both of us may retain.

Now havng decided to use a 'noon' timing results in the natal Pluto (planet of power) of king Charles III rising! And this is the 'noon' chart shown, below: the Coronation Horoscope May 6, 2023 London, UK with the noon Midheaven ('The Goal Point') representing the pinnacle of worldly success, high status, and recognition. However, Charles became King the very moment his mother passed away on September 8, 2022 so we should note that the public coronation of Charles III on May 6, 2023 is actually a symbolic religious ceremony with the holy relic, St. Edward's Crown (Edward "the Confessor"), used and worn for the first time since Elizabeth II wore it in 1953. Plus, the crown is very heavy so coronation ceremonies provide its only occasion to shine and impress.

With the coronation service beginning at 11:00 am local time (6:00 am ET) after a processional from Buckingham Palace (11:00 am horoscope, below), here's a Timeline of the Coronation which explains that the procession will be led by the Cross of Wales, aka, the "True Cross," fragments of which are a coronation gift to King Charles from Pope Francis. Notably, the natal Sun of Pope Francis @24Sag54 falls between King Charles III's natal Mars and Jupiter. The trio forms a midpoint picture of Mars-Jupiter = Sun: a sense of honor (R. Ebertin), with happiness and success suggested.

So here's a marked-up bi-wheel of Horoscopes showing the May 6, 2023 Coronation of King Charles III set for London, UK (inner), with King Charles III's natal chart surrounding so that, as noted, we see his Pluto @16Leo33 (Leo, a royal sign) rising at noon. It will be interesting to see what's actually taking place at noon (7:00 am here, assuming I'm awake!). Of course, the entire monarchical hierarchy is all about power and control, yes?

Then at some point, two Oaths will be taken, and as you see, Coronation Mercury Rx in Taurus opposes Charles III's natal Mercury in Scorpio (planet of oaths) indicating potentials for minds to change, differing opinions, and/or perhaps a change in the communications of the day such as a slight shift from coronation traditions. We'll see how proceedings go since traditions are said to be honored during the Coronation of Charles III - or perhaps someone will flub their well-rehearsed lines! And yet the second Oath is a religious one and Charles III wants an Oath that includes multiple religions so there's at least one Mercurial change. For full details see Useful Charts (video).

And now, in case a printable chart is appropriate for a reader such as yourself, here's only the Coronation Horoscope of King Charles III set for 11:00 am BST on May 6, 2023, the hour that the solemnities are scheduled to begin. As you see, a protective, creative Water Grand Trine is clearly visible in the chart between Moon, Mars, and Neptune so I suspect that the Coronation will happily proceed with few if any glitches:

Confessional Disclosures of a genealogical kind: geni dot com informs me that Edward I is my 29th great uncle, QEII is my 11th cousin 3x removed, so her son Charles III is my 12th cousin 2x removed; soon-to-be-Queen Camilla is my 16th cousin with 30 relatives between us. Plus, there are in-law links that are too numerous to mention. But don't judge me because these folks are quite likely to be related to You, too, and probably through no fault of your own!

11.20.14: POTUS explains his solo move on Immigration

At 8:00 pm est, MSNBC will broadcast President Obama's remarks concerning his immigration plans to improve family conditions and separations via a presidential Executive Order. Naturally much Republican rage is being expressed over the president's "power grab" as such actions are usually characterized by the opposing party.

With the 5th house Sun @28Sco37, Mr. Obama's natal Midheaven is spotlighted with its apt Sabian Symbol: "29Scorpio" = "An Indian Woman Pleading to the Chief for the Lives of Her Children"...EFFECTIVENESS (MEJ), and in fact, there are Moon-Mercury concerns uppermost in this chart indicating family, maternal, and children's issues such as being separated by America's overbearing and often illogical immigration policies which on another level, lack of action threatens our agricultural effectiveness. Tonight President Obama will use logic concerning agricultural, financial (*Jupiter @22Leo07 in 2nd house of the National Treasury and Values), and social conditions and needs in an attempt to at least temporarily redirect such policies in order to rejoin mothers and fathers with their children. 'Bout time in my book.

However, Republicans and their wealthy backers and bigoted supporters will use emotions as usual to rile up as many of the white populace as possible (Mars and Pluto in Capricorn setting and thus opposing tonight's Ascendant, the remarks and plan itself.) Activist and fire-starter Mars remains out-of-bounds of the earthly plane and is up to who-knows-what. But whatever he's up to may be considered anti-societal.

(This week's closely related post concerns the November 18th Sun-Saturn conjunction in Scorpio, a picture of an isolated (Saturn) leader (Sun) acting alone: Sun-Saturn in Politics. See below for my take on certain political calculations involving tonight's plan.)

The horoscope for tonight at 8:00 pm est in Washington DC shows the family and business oriented sign of Cancer (tribal, protective, and shrewd) rising at 16Can03 which makes the Moon (The People in a mundane chart) the chart and speech ruler. Luna falls at 10Sco28 in 5th house of Children but this is also the house of Risk-Taking ('11Sco' = "A Drowning Man Rescued.") For hints of how things may proceed from the president's remarks about his plan, we look to the chart ruler's major applying aspects, if any.

In tonight's horoscope, these are: Moon sextile Pluto (1A22), an aspect of opportunity if one chooses to take it. Yet Moon-Pluto sextiles tend to become stuck in the past, in part a description of recessive, secessionist Republicans who pine for pre-Civil War days, perhaps, but the planetary pair also denotes a lunar-psychological-propaganda connection with public relations and Politics (Pluto = manipulation and control, Moon = The Public) so we know that the GOP and those driving them will not be letting go of their feelings of prejudice and intolerance concerning immigration issues and a black president's daring to inhabit the White House--and to sign an Executive Order rather than accept continued Republican inaction on the matter.

The expressed concern seems to be the fear (Pluto) that Barack Obama and immigration reform adds to the changing of the American complexion from white to brown and black which to me seems a natural process that's been ongoing for decades if not from the foundation of our country. My own fear is that immigration issues now herald a signpost on the anti-sovereignty road to a North American Union between the US, Mexico, and Canada (which may implicate Canadian pipelines cutting through America as more of same.) Plus, you know how stronger "border control" has been a major squawk between Democrats and Republicans for years--and most of the time their debates have completely ignored the people component where family members are deported and thus separated from each other. Which is tonight's presidential theme with the Moon-Pluto sextile picture containing deep sorrow and grief that may finally be expressed on behalf of the people most affected by excessive numbers of deportation.

Tonight's remarks may also result in calming the public and harmonizing the Latino population with the president's solo immigration efforts (Moon trine 9th house Chiron in suffering Pisces--2A37.)

Ultimately, the Moon conjoins orator Mercury @18Sco28 (8A20), also in 5th house, a Moon-Mercury meeting that will support the previous indications of harmony and rapport with the public noted in the chart. The public joins the orator's ideas, it seems--plus, the Moon's applying aspects make up a Water Grand Trine--see below for details. Yet in Washington Politics, there are always political undertones to everything that's done or not done, said or not said, aren't there?

Besides giving the GOP-drenched 2015 Congress yet another issue to get their collective panties in a bunch over, tonight's announcement of solo actions by President Obama may be meant to box in Republican presidential candidates for the 2016 election--if so, bravo! For it will give a tiny needle to thread for such bombastic candidates to spend the next two years blasting away at the president's taking immigration matters into his own hands (due to their own years of inaction and obstructionism--not that all Democrats are in the clear on this), then turn around and expect Latino votes in November 2016.

Why on earth would a single Latino ever again vote Republican?

So enjoy tonight's show expressing the chart's protective, security-minded Water Grand Trine between maternal Moon, young people's Mercury, wounded Chiron in the 9th house of Foreigners, and the Cancer Ascendant. But beware the 2015 Congress' Full Moon conjunct mystical Sirius on January 4, 2015 when the North Node rises in DC with US natal Saturn (lawmakers; judges), the Full Moon squares (blocks) NN-Saturn, and the Moon turns void-of-course immediately afterward denoting that others will not be able to interfere with actions and events--and/or that results will not turn out as expected.

Since the January 4, 2015 lunation precedes the swearing in of new members it is the Syzygy Moon of the New Congress. More will be posted on this important cosmic event and on the 2015 Congress in a future article.

US Venus Return June 2013: Saturn leads a locomotive pattern

On June 3, 2013 at 11:10:39 am edt, White House, transiting Venus returns to her natal degree in America's 'Sibly' chart (July 4, 1776 5:10 pm LMT Philadelphia, PA) of 3Cancer06. Having an approximate cycle of one year, Venus Return horoscopes tell how the year will proceed within the realms of Venus: relationship-partnerships-alliances, financial matters including monetary evaluation, diplomacy, art and music, social and cultural events.

As you know, Venus rules the principle of attraction (to and from) and in shrewd Cancer, America is attracted to Cancerian-Lunar concerns such as home and business, security needs, food supplies, parental and emotional concerns, creative endeavors, art, beauty, and finances (their supply or lack thereof--here, quirky disruptive Uranus @11Ari49 The Rebel is at a sensitive point in the 8th house of Corporations, Taxes, Debt, Credit, Death, Transformation, etc--near the 9th cusp.)

In any planetary return chart, the natal aspect or aspects of the planet under consideration is very important for interpreting the Return horoscope which in the case of Venus, 'looks ahead' about one year until Venus' next return to natal degree in 2014.

In America's natal 'Sibly' horoscope, Venus only applies to a conjunction with natal Jupiter @5Can56 ('6Can' = "Game Birds Feathering Their Nests"--they certainly do) yet in our Venus Return 2013 horoscope, Venus has already moved beyond investing Jupiter (25Gem18.) Both planets are posited in Venus Return ('VR') 11th house of Groups, Associations, Hopes, and Wishes. Also, Venus rules VR 3rd house of Communications and the 10th house of Career and Public Status.

A Venus-Jupiter conjunction indicates generosity, optimism, and financial good fortune but may lead to indolence, laziness, and too much ease when effort is what's called for. Additionally, Venus rules the separative SN conjunct MC, a time when career moves may be thwarted, bad timing interferes, and old habits are out of sync with current trends--thus, recognition is slow in coming, if at all. Yet with the Nodal axis spotlighting the IC conj NN and 4th house of Domestic Scene, we may expect a few improvements to express there including in Real Estate.

Later in 2013, the 2013 Venus Return chart may tell us something of the financial stalemates in Washington DC which are virtually promised by the GOP-Tea Party with their anti-anything-Obama manner of sore-losership and weird ideology of Weishauptian dimensions, an ideology which includes a centuries-old plan for global governance and domination.

Our June 3, 2013 Venus Return Ascendant is @23Leo46 and thus the chart is ruled by the Sun @15Gem06 which makes no applying aspects to other planets at all. However, the Venus Return Sun does inconjunct NN showing a leader (Sun) and the public (NN) needing some type of adjustment between them in relation to Venusian issues. And since US natal Venus conjoins Fixed Star Mirzam (to have one's say--and VR Mercury @7Can55 conjoins out-spoken Mirzam, we may hear announcements concerning financial and/or diplomatic-pacts-alliances with the day of our VR 2013 showing a peak of such activities and events.

Yet naturally Venus and other planets transiting this return chart's planets and angles, plus, the perfection of return aspects, describe peaks of activity as well.

Now if we use the rounding-up method for America's natal Venus degree (3Can06) we find that the word picture or symbol for '4Can' is: "A Cat Arguing with a Mouse" and here is what Marc Edmund Jones says about this symbol:

"4Can" = JUSTIFICATION. Positive expression: a gift for persuading others to accept the motives of self and to co-operate with its ends"; Negative (unconscious/shadow side--jc) :interminable quarreling with the nature of things.

US Venus is looking at You, Capitol Hill-ers of a jackass persuasion!

Then there's the chart's locomotive pattern with Saturn Rx @5Sco39 in 3rd house. Power, genius, persistence, and prophecy are some of the gifts in a horoscope containing a locomotive pattern of planets. Karmic planet Saturn when in Scorpio has a 'survival of the fittest' vibe which points directly to Ayn Rand objectivists and the Social Darwinism that certain politicians wish to impose upon everyone but their exalted selves.

And with Taurus the Bull at MC (The Goal; MC 17Tau17)), we may expect the sign's shadow side of greed, bigotry, intolerance, and racism to continue arguing with the Venusian cat in the House on Capitol Hill when all the cat wants is a warm and cozy spot in the sunshine with perhaps a slice of apple pie as comfort food.

What may aid us is that locomotive Saturn emphasizes the protective Water Grand Trine between Mercury, Venus, Saturn, and Neptune so that social and civic concerns are addressed if not entirely solved or improved. Also at MC is the South Node (SN) of the Moon--and the Moon (We the People) is nearby as well, though on the 9th house side of Midheaven. Lady Luna @11Tau49 is in a fated septile aspect (51 degr) with Return Venus denoting possibly chaotic conditions, and VR Mars @3Gem41 in 10th house conjoins President Obama's natal Moon (3Gem21), a period when feelings lie close to the surface, anger may be expressed, and the pace of life picks up even more.

Well, these are a few considerations of America's next-up Venus Return which leads the list of America's 2013 planetary returns--here they are in order of occurrence; all natal positions are based on our nation's 'Sibly' horoscope of July 4, 1776:

Summer Solstice 2013: Sun to World Point 00Can00:00 @1:04 am edt Washington DC; Hour of evaluating Venus (@22Can06 conjunct Mercury 22:01 in 5th house); chart-ruler Jupiter with sub-ruler Neptune, the speculator pair, are actors within a Water Grand Trine (6A09--see bottom left of chart); secretive Neptune @5Pis19 in its own unconscious 12th house of Politics, Karma, and Large Institutions such as prisons (closing of Gitmo?) and hospitals (vets, Obamacare?) precisely conjoins President Obama's natal 1st house Chiron Rx @5Pis19. Their precise conjunction has a fated reap-what's-sown quality and denotes strong psychic energies being unconsciously expressed by the president concerning 12th house matters.

Compassion, aid, and/or propaganda (the media; the masses; surveillance) may also be indicated by this placement of Neptune.

Now as you know, Water Grand Trines have a protective imperative and all such planetary patterns indicate closed circuits of energy. Guarding against stagnation and inertia is problematic with all Grand Trines and especially so when more than one appears as here: there are two if we count the ASC with Moon, Mercury-Venus, and Sun-Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune.) The quality of Water seeks peace, tranquility, and safety and many of us will tend to retreat into our private worlds if and when we can. Naturally domestic issues will be high on our lists of concerns as well.

Additionally, the two Grand Trines, made more complex by Jupiter still in Airy Gemini while the Sun has entered Watery Cancer, signifies America's current debilitating conditions and we have only to glance toward Capitol Hill ideologues and bigots to remember that this is what we're experiencing across the nation due to what I termed here in 2012 as "Jackassian Politics." I was surprised last evening to hear MSNBC's Chris Hayes on his program All In using the description of jackassery behavior for certain Republican-Tea Partiers. But we can't be the only ones who've noticed!

Now if you listen to the full broadcast of All In, Chris also discusses the Jackassery Politics as practiced by Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel who is closing 50 schools in the city while using taxpayer millions to build--wait for it--a sports stadium. Jackassery abounds everywhere we look!

Now back to Summer Solstice 2013:

Rising is 27Pis31 along with two midpoints: 1. Uranus-NN denoting radical political groups and reformers; 2. the forceful Mars-Pluto midpoint which gives dangerous and ruthless tones to the chart and to the hot summer season. Also, Mars-Pluto opposes US progressed Neptune which adds potentials for disasters caused by water, oil, or gas, causing secret harm to others, and use of cunning and deceit--you know: Washington and state politicians behaving badly.

Now that 8th house Moon (We the People) @27Sco52 nears the Inaugural 2009 Moon (29Sco45) and conjoins here President Obama's natal MC (Aspirations; The Goal) which hopefully indicates his efforts to bring relief and improved conditions (such as infrastructure investments which would solve more than one problem) yet we find Jupiter @28Gem53 conjunct IC (Foundation of the Matter) and '28Gem' is a degree of BANKRUPTCY in Sabian Symbols. Can our economy hang on until America's next Jupiter Return (5Can56) on July 22, 2013? Will nation-building investments or roads and bridges finally arrive in the nick of time to create jobs and increase our safety?

Perhaps! For we know that debt, credit, shared resources, and Big Business are on top of our national agenda this summer with the Solstice North Node of Future Direction posited in Scorpio and in Watery Scorpio's natural 8th house--plus, Scorpio's Mars-Pluto influences rule the Solstice ASC in Washington, as noted above. Building bridges would be a great use of this forceful energy. More war and drone strikes? Not so much.

Well, there are many more chart factors to consider but I don't want to ruin your fun (check out that Scorpionic Saturn Rx just barely in 7th house and the critical 20Cap degree on 11th cusp!) so I'll close by detailing the midpoint pictures formed in T-Squares between Sun, Jupiter, MC, and the ASC in the Summer Solstice 2013 horoscope:

Jupiter-MC = ASC: pleasant contacts that support one's personal success (Ebertin); a need to absorb life's lessons; needing to understand the motives and intentions of others; reminders that one must work with others (Munkasey.)

Yes, that last indicator is aimed toward all our anti-government jackassian politicians who know who they are.

A new source of BPA & Pres Obama's Chiron Return

If like me you fret over contact with the endocrine disrupting chemical BPA (bisphenol A), you'll be disturbed to find that studies show it turning up on 40% of all store receipts thus dangerously contaminating store clerks and the customers they hand receipts to.

This is the chemical that's been poisoning us for years in plastics such as water bottles, in soda cans, and the linings of some baby formulas, etc. And now this.

Has a secret method of BPA delivery been outed? Peep-eye!

"Major retailers using the BPA-containing receipts include McDonald’s, CVS, KFC, Whole Foods, Walmart, and the U.S. Postal Service, according to the EWG research. Safeway was found to have the highest amounts of BPA on their receipts, at a level of up to 41 milligrams."

Safeway! When I lived in DC many moons ago, Safeway was the only place to shop for groceries. And I make a point of shopping at Walmart perhaps twice a year, if that.

With the Big Recession ongoing and more people shopping at 'dollar stores' I wonder if any of them were included in the study? They should have been, imho. Then there's the paper manufacturing industry. How could they be unaware of the hazards?

Well, doesn't this beat all? 'Spend your money with us and we'll send you to the nearest cancer clinic'. Including their own employees! It's no wonder illness is Big Business in America. What a racket.

Oh, and 49th Happy Birthday to President Obama. 49-years-old means his Chiron Return (5Pis19 in 1st house) is on the way and in his case, it's a whopping five-fer:

As you see, Mr. Obama's Chiron Return is a long, drawn-out affair and to the extent that he is America's leader, we will experience it along with him.

When a cosmic body returns to natal position, all the aspects in the natal chart are re-emphasized and activated. In Barack Obama's natal chart this includes:

1st house Chiron, Venus (1Can47, 5th h), and Neptune (8Sco36, 9th h) indicates to me quite a mystical personality especially with the midpoint of Jupiter (00AQ52 Rx, 12th h) and Chiron upon his Ascendant...Jup/Chiron = ASC. Now I'm no Chiron aficionado (see Julie Demboski for that) but this midpoint picture describes mystical tendencies, an unconscious inflation, and being swallowed by the unconscious.

Speaking of the last, all US presidents since 1933 have taken their presidential oaths with Fixed Star Menkar rising (14Tau+) for that is what happens in Washington on January 20 in any inaugural year. This relates to Cetus the Whale and the story of Jonah who was swallowed by the whale for not delivering the message required. Guess this plays into the 'propaganda catapulter' role which was so ably described by George Bush when he played president - his own description of what his job as president was.

But back to our current mouthpiece - his Jupiter/Chiron = ASC indicates a receptivity to mysticism for Jupiter is where one feels a resonance with the unknown and the presence of the spirit. In Christianity, this would relate to faith and the Holy Spirit. In mysticism, your guess is as good as mine. And Chiron as the Wounded Healer acts as a Christ archetype in astrology charts - Chiron The Key, Christ the Key to heaven...to paraphrase, "No man comes to the Father but through Me."

Further emphasizing such spiritual tendencies is his Water Grand Trine with mystical Neptune, devoted Venus (conjunct US natal Venus in Cancer), and shaman Chiron. Mr. Obama's natal Jupiter is, as you know, conjunct Inaugural Sun 00AQ+ and in his case, also conjunct that pesky Inaugural 2009 Mercury Rx which influenced a 2nd oath-taking due to Justice John Roberts' flubbing (Rx) of his lines when administering the oath (Mercury.)

Water Grand Trines emphasize the protective, receptive, and protective power of trines in general; a certain tranquility and unrufferability is often seen in the personality (even if cigarette smoking has to calm a restless, nervous Gemini Moon. Not surprising when you're in a position of playing with so many people's lives and futures.) Mr. Cool!

Water Grand Trines give one a talent for responding to subtle undercurrents, great creative talents, excellent powers of detection, and an inner life that seems more numinous and real than an often harsh outer reality.

But the emotional containment suggested by a Water GT makes the individual difficult to know well and my suspicion is that it plays into America's easy bamboozlement during the 2008 campaign for our national Neptune, planet of veils and deceptions, conjoins Mr. Obama's natal Mars, his action-desire principle. This contact between us also describes what was called his 'Rock Star' status early on (glamorous Mars-Neptune), and makes understanding his motivations and actions as president difficult, if not impossible, for we-the-people to detect or understand.

Yet when we consider the 5 dates of the President's Chiron Return stretching into 2012, I suspect we will begin to understand more fully what truly motivates our mystical President Obama.

So Happy 49th Birthday, Mr. President. For your 50th, you'll be in the mystical midst of a very l o n g Chiron Return - and taking America along on the journey.

Astrology of Apr 27 - May 2, 2009 and Pres Obama's chart

Astrologer Julie Demboski has amazed me again with her astrological overview of the upcoming week, so practical yet full of insight.

Julie is calling Apr 27 - May 2 a 'connector week' as we tidy up loose ends and ready for more excitement to come. May 1 is the day she pinpoints for lots happening and notes that a Water Grand Trine forms between Pallas, Earth, and Juno.

This Grand Trine will linger until May 8 so get ready for that. Ecology, environmentalism (Earth) and women's issues may be in the news if not in our hearts with Juno, the wife, and Pallas, the daughter, in the mix.

So What If a Grand Trine is Watery?

Taking a quick look at the president's Secondary Progressions, I'll venture to say that he's in protect-own-position mode at the moment and that others are not cooperating as they should.

He may tend to over-extend himself for people who don't really deserve it (Sec Venus inconj Sec Jupiter) and the word 'patsy' comes to mind as others try to take credit for his ideas - or simply discount or undermine them. Seems to me the Oval Office has been overrun by corporate types since Inauguration 2009 but maybe that's only my opinion.

All in all, the upcoming week of Apr 27 - May 2, 2009 is a time to prepare for future busy-ness, craziness, and excitement, so let's make our bases as secure as possible yet relax a wee bit when we can snag ourselves a break!
