Oct 11, 2018: For those who may be interested, The Guardian has published a Timeline concerning Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi's disappearance on October 2, 2018 going into the Saudi embassy in Istanbul, Turkey, "after lunch." Here is the country's January 15, 1902 horoscope (one of three or more) for Saudi Arabia with October 2, 2018 planets highlighted in green surrounding the chart and speculatively timed for 2:03 pm EEDT with karmic Saturn @3Cap05 rising; chart data from The World Book of Horoscopes, N. Update Oct 12, 2018: it has been reported on MSNBC that a video time stamp shows Mr. Khashoggi entering the Saudi embassy at 1:14 pm which gives 22Sag19 rising ('23Sag' = "Immigrants Entering a New Country") and 14Lib43 at Midheaven with Mercury and Sun snugged around it. Restrictive Saturn, planet of authority, is first planet to rise. It's an Hour of Jupiter and broadcasting Jupiter is chart-ruler but is unaspected as is the Ascendant.

In the center of the horoscope are listed Saudi Arabia's Syzygy Moon (last lunation, a New Moon prior to the overthrow of Riyadh, the founding event this chart is based upon--with 2018 Pluto conjunct the Syzygy Moon and denoting a critical time of development and issues of separation), and its Prenatal Solar Eclipse ('PE') in the 12 North Saros Series; 12 North's theme is on the chart. Last 12N: on SA's birthday January 15, 2010 @25Capricorn conjunct natal Sun and Jupiter; next 12N: January 26, 2028 @6AQ conjunct Saudi Arabia's natal Icarus (5AQ47). Note that 5-6 Aquarius happens to be the position of America's natal South Node (1776).
Although I had not intended to compare Mr. Trump's natal planets with those of Saudi Arabia (pals though they may be--he thinks), a few of his planets are listed around the chart as well but are not highlighted. Of note is Saudi Arabia ('SA')'s Pluto @17Gem02 Rx conjoining Trump's natal Uranus, his 'guiding planet' of chaos and disruption, an explosive, revolutionary combination of planetary energies. And SA's natal Vertex ('VX') @00Vir26 conjoins the occult 8th cusp, royal Regulus (success if revenge is avoided), and the natal Ascendant of Donald Trump with his aggressive Mars rising @26Leo.
Now naturally you see that SA has a Sun-Jupiter conjunction @25Capricorn rising where transit Pluto will soon trod, and that Mr. Underworld was already near SA's natal Saturn (19Cap22) on October 2, 2018. In fact, Pluto's recent Station on September 30, 2018 @18Cap45 was within orb of SA's natal Saturn, describing a period when power and authority are abused. Plus, the nation is having a Mars Return (10AQ21) this very day (October 11, 2018 at 9:29:52 am BAT Riyadh) and will soon have a three-fer Saturn Return in 2019, exact on: March 23rd; June 7th (Rx); and December 14, 2019, when all accounts are ready to be tallied and lessons have surely been learned (for best karmic results).
And big as life, there's lady Venus so recently turned retrograde (October 5, 2018 @10Sco50) at the top of Saudi Arabia's chart on October 2, 2018 conjunct the nation's natal North Node of meetings and encounters. As you know, the top of a horoscope is the most visible point, the Midheaven/Goal Point--the World Stage. Whether October 2nd Venus represents Khashoggi's fiancee and/or the concepts of jealousy and vengeance, yours truly does not know. But Mr. Khashoggi is known as a critic of the Saudi regime and since he allegedly entered the embassy to get papers that would allow them to marry, perhaps this Venus in this particular chart represents love, romance, and relationships--and meetings (NN) about love matters. Yet we cannot rule out negatives such as betrayal and spying because Venus is in brooding, secretive Scorpio, a sign associated with death, control, and in-depth investigation which includes journalism and reporters like Jamal Khashoggi.
Of course, journalists are often considered by the regimes they cover to be spies, are they not?

The Syzygy Moon of the 2018 Midterm Elections

Prior to the November 6, 2018 Midterm Elections comes a Full Moon, the last lunation or 'Syzygy Moon', @1Tau13 which perfects on October 24, 2018 at 12:45:05 pm edt in Washington DC. This Full Moon Horoscope is titled, "Stormy Proceedings" (ASC = Mercury-Mars) and "(A) Military Band(s) on the March" (Jupiter the General--and expansive Politician--@27Scorpio):

Of course the intensity, delving, monetary, and other qualities within the Taurus-Scorpio polarity are well known so let's not belabor such basics. We must look to the restrictive yet stabilizing Saturn rising for The Lesson-Bringer drags with him his usual karmic implications, and a serious tone of austerity, authority, and accountability is cast over proceedings as the Midterm Elections approach with Saturn the planet of lawmakers whose seats are up for grabs in November. Yet Saturn is also the status quo planet of The Establishment so it seems somewhat doubtful that all Republicans in office will be tossed out on their wide tushies even with the expected 'Blue Wave' of Democrats welling up across the land and spoiling for a cleansing flood.

A mix of election results sounds more reasonable--yet this Syzygy Moon chart's MC-IC axis is at a critical-crisis 29th-degrees just as the Full Moon perfects. Matters are serious and strained and pressures must be released, perhaps partially in the T-Square between the Sun-Moon opposition squaring the 7th house North Node in dramatic Leo and suggesting new contacts and associations. Yet necessarily the separative South Node, the Tail of the Dragon rises in 1st house, not the happiest indicator in any chart, along with wealthy manipulator and saboteur Pluto at that problematic degree of '18Capricorn' of POLITICAL POWER and 'smug or strong-armed paternalism' (Jones). Authoritarianism with its draconian measures are on the rise unless We The People stop it in its tracks soon.

Mars-Mercury-Jupiter

A values-laden 2nd house barely holds activist Mars desirous of reforms when in Aquarius while voting Mercury @21Sco29 has just entered the public 10th house at '22Scorpio' = "Hunters Starting Out For Ducks"...ENTERPRISE (Jones). This degree places transit Mercury nearing Mr. Trump's natal IC (24Sco18) from the 3rd house side with tr Jupiter in Scorpio, as noted above, on the 4th house side. Mercury-Jupiter opposite n MC may provide Jupiterian Trump a sense of optimism yet there are negative potentials involved with the planetary pair as well: failures through dishonesty; negligence or clumsiness; and fraud (Ebertin). Sadly, any or all of these possibilities may apply and I must also add grandiose thinking to this picture.

Will an 'October Surprise' occur intended to sway the Midterms?

Well, it's been years since one or more political 'surprises' (aka, dirty tricks) have not caused disruption of our elections or at least the fear of it--see disruptive chaos-creator Uranus at IC, the Basis of the Matter--which also suggests a sudden change of residence for someone! So let us agree that surprising events if not trickery will happen as 2018 rolls on toward November along with campaign promises--especially since at the 2018 Midterms, Jupiter will reach 29Scorpio which, rounded up, is "The Halloween Jester". And of course we can depend on tactics such as gerrymandering, voter suppression, foreign and domestic interference via hacking, and social networking illusions to haunt and muss with ballot boxes across the nation. And it isn't as if Trickster Trump the Gemini has supported any efforts to improve the 'integrity' of our voting system--things worked for him in 2016 so sly dog that he is, his 'Sneaky Mind' (Mercury-Neptune square--Oken) wouldn't willingly change a thing.

Of interest as well is the separative South Node of the Moon @1AQ21 nearing POTUS Sun (Trump 2017 = 00AQ49) so endings of relationships and separations from the White House continue as will further unpopularity with the public (Nodes) for Mr. Trump which supports the theme of a culminating Full Moon and its Venus-Uranus/Sun-Uranus oppositions, plus, the Moon-Uranus separation issues and excitement that nestle at the IC.

Eroding Neptune on Election Day 2018

A quick glance at two horoscopes set for November 6, 2018 Washington DC show deceptive loss-leader Neptune of media, propaganda, falsehood, and the masses fame at IC (the Basis of the Matter; The Drain) at 8:00 am est and again at MC (The Goal) at 8:00 pm est. In the chart above we see Neptune @13Pi57 Rx in Money House (2nd) with the Sabian Symbol for '14Pisces' = "A Lady in FOX Fur" (my bold, for obvious political and broadcasting reasons).

Underneath all this, the Republican Party's first-ever Neptune Return continues apace this year with the 4th of 5 'hits' perfecting on October 20, 2018, and the final conjunction perfecting on December 29, 2018. Strong in its own secretive scandal-plagued sign of Pisces, masking Neptune covers for Donald Trump as Republicans do while he play-acts the presidency of the United States and distracts the public from real issues which include the hollowing out of the US government by anti-government politicians and their wealthy backers. We may even find some evidence of his thespianism penned on the Syzygy Moon chart, lower left, in a midpoint picture:

Neptune-MC = Ascendant: acting and pretending which also carries potentials for an inability to get over losses and/or insecurity (Ebertin). Sorry Trump fans but I see no "stable genius" acting under the spotlight of this particular Full Moon--and that doesn't take into consideration The Tower Solar Eclipse of August 11, 2018 @19Leo which is the Prenatal Eclipse of the November 2018 Midterms as previously discussed, and falls into the corporate and Scorpionic 8th house of this Full Moon chart.

And one major caution exists within the Earth-Water Taurus-Scorpio energies here--that blindness to the motives of others is possible and this could affect the decisions of voters in November, especially those who tend to take the theatrical, superficial utterances of a man like Trump at face value as if he's serious and actually concerned about their issues. Will he be in office by November? Probably but who can say at this point? As you see listed on the chart, upper right, one of the Images for Integration as detailed in the Harveys' Sun Sign-Moon Sign book:

"Pluto takes Persephone into the Underworld" which may refer to the mobster/gangster atmosphere and dealings of Donald Trump and his thuggish minions such as Michael Cohen. Of course, the Persephone myth also relates to sexual relationships and abuse so there's that--and asteroids Persephone @17Scorpio (transition) and Atlantis (where we feel doomed; abuse of power) conjoin in the visible 10th house, while wounded healer Chiron, still in mystical if shady Pisces, is about to leave the 3rd house of Communications along with difficult Scheat @29Pisces, a star of misfortune. Is someone tweet-plaining their troubles? Still? Tiresome!

Quirky Quixotic Uranus--Trump's Erratic 'Guiding Planet'

Now I shall leave you to read the chart yourself or to check out my scribbled notes on the chart if you can or wish but I must note the relationship and culmination aspect of any Full Moon, shining its rays here upon the security-minded MC-IC axis of Career and Home, plus, the implications of a Venus-Uranus opposition of eccentricity, obstinacy, moodiness, separation in relationship, peculiarities, and/or someone's frayed nerves on display will add its excited energies to the sudden changes that are in store for America and Congress as we careen toward another Midterm Election Day.

Summer Solstice 2016: Endings, Partings, and Denials of Guilt

Summer Solstice 2016 Horoscope: June 20, 2016 6:34:30 pm EDT Washington DC; Hour of Mars; Sun 00Can00:00, Moon 5Cap36; Venus @3Can50 out-of-bounds (US Venus Return 7:02 am edt); a Mutable Grand Cross; Saturn Rx @11Sag50 rising in 1st house suggesting delays, restrictions, and other difficulties in markets (Capricorn on 2nd cusp, a money house, and Saturn co-rules 3rd house of Neighborhoods and Communications); Capricorn Moon in 1st but conjunct 2nd house of the National Treasury which hints at financial fluctuations and changes in mortgages or real estate (Pisces on IC with most of Pisces in 3rd h):

Chart-ruler Jupiter 15Vir48 still conjoins North Node (a Jupiterian Point of encounter) at Midheaven (The Goal) along with starry Denebola with key phrases: out of the mainstream (Trump? Sanders?) and to go against society (Utopian infiltrators?) with Neptune-South Node (intrigue and loss) opposite and part of a Mutable Grand Cross (marked in blue) which indicates dynamic and tense circumstances worsened by scattering energies too widely, vacillation or indecision, inconsistency, and unreliability in partnerships and alliances.

From the Grand Cross there are, of course, midpoint pictures with potentials for impractical plans, distrust, philosophical discussions, short journeys, and/or fortunate separations. In fact, separation is a theme of this Summer Season 2016 especially with the Pre-Natal Solar Eclipse of this Solstice at IC, the Foundation of the Matter. The eclipse @18Pis55 manifested on March 9, 2016 in the 18 South Saros Series and its separative influence will be felt through the summer as it affects Campaign 2016 and the candidates as well as individuals with 19 Pisces prominent in their natal charts.

Actually, the trail of dispositorship ends with Mercury in its own sign of Gemini where it barely maintains a tenuous grasp upon the chart's actors (planets) for Mercury opposes restrictive Saturn (defensive attitudes, strong opinions, isolationism; criticism and scheming alienate others), squares chart-ruler Jupiter (words, plans, and decisions based on insufficient information, avoiding responsibility for actions), then squares confused Neptune which adds fear to being held accountable, escapist behavior, hidden truths, setbacks in competitions, and objectives that demand clarification. Perhaps the day's Full Moon will reveal some of the 'hidden truths' much as an eclipse tends to do.

Other themes of Summer 2016 include skewed perspectives about relationships and values (Venus out-of-bounds), denial of guilt by those responsible (Saturn-Neptune @26Cap = US natal Pluto), expansion of personal influence, power, and control (Jupiter trine Pluto 0A48), cold feelings and/or a tragic destiny (Saturn-Pluto = Full Moon @7:02 am), plus, quarrels and separations (Moon-Mars = Saturn in the Full Moon chart)--any of which may describe certain actions, attitudes, and rhetoric of the 2016 candidates.

We should also consider the US National Treasury (2nd house) with the fluctuating Moon conjoining 2nd cusp and transformative Pluto therein--wealthy Pluto of 'secret treasure in hidden places' fame. Perhaps diplomatic Venus, opposite and near the 8th cusp of Corporatism and Big Business, will be able to smooth over financial issues though a modernization theme may turn up (Uranus-NN = Venus) and this may hint at the ongoing question of replacing an image on US paper currency with a feminine image.

(Such a change would not bring much improvement in our circumstances, would it, ladies? It's an empty gesture, imho.)

Now as you see in the chart, Mars Rx in the 12th house of Politics and Karma and 1st house Saturn Rx form a fretful midpoint picture with potentials for separation (again!), a need for economizing measures, and a possible health threat for as you know, Mars-Saturn is the 'death axis' though I don't like typing so. On another chart angle is the karmic Sun-Saturn midpoint at MC which denotes more separation and isolation ("the lone wolf"--Tyl) and denotes feeling devalued which ties in with Venus' out-of-bounds issues. This picture also echoes America's natal Sun-Saturn square which forms a Thor's Hammer pattern (aka, a Fist of God) in the US natal chart (1776) and its difficult energies are permanently aimed at US natal Moon (We the People) which denotes the government's continued use of fear in order to sway public moods, sentiments, and emotions.

Yet perhaps the most telling astrological tidbit in the Summer Solstice 2016 Horoscope is unaspected Uranus. You know what shocks, disruptions, separations, and anarchy Uranus can visit upon the human race--and suddenly, like a flash of lightening. Well, this Uranus position @23Ari54 (ruled by hothead Mars) remains in what Ebertin describes the realms of blind zealots, fanatics, violent people, Utopians and reformers. Here, the Quirky One is not affected, nor his actions mitigated, by the energies of any other planet and therefore, may be behaving in a "pure" manner with more intensity than usual--and may even fancy himself beyond compare when it comes to 5th house matters. For this is a very discontented Uranus from which chaos may ensue especially in the Gambling and Risk-Taking areas of life (5th house). And since the sign of Uranus denotes behavior, we may suspect that this restless Uranus is a warrior, an activist, an upstart, a rebel, and is perhaps incendiary and violent.

A Question Occurs...

Do people fulfilling radical Uranian roles consult their consciences over what they do, what they disrupt and the consequences that result for others? With denials of guilt so prevalent these days along with lacks of confidence and trust among the public--what might we expect this summer from political and ideological Utopians who would destroy law and government? Here we see loner Uranus (the outsider determined to win the US presidency?) conjoining nurturing asteroid Ceres, an indicator in a Mundane chart of questions of conscience and events that affect large numbers of people. It seems we can only wait to see what Summer 2016 has in store but hopefully, children (5th house) are not threatened by Uranus' overbearing, radical political ideology that inspires anti-societal actions.

And although I did not like writing this Summer Solstice 2016 post, my sincerest wish is that the American people (in spite of the pathetically low-brow political campaign full of misogyny and bigotry) and people of all nations and faiths may enjoy a wonderful Summer 2016 (depending on hemisphere, of course). For we are all bedeviled by governments full of bad actors who are best dealt with via ridicule, parody, and satire! And legal actions where applicable, of course.
