Obama approval rating falls 5 pts 3.16.09
Pew Research Center has reported today that Pres. Barack Obama's approval rating has fallen 5 pts from 64% to 59% for the first time in his young presidency.
Quite an understandable eventuality, I'd say. But to me, poll numbers and reports are basically done and publicized for manipulation's sake (from all or any side.)
Oh, and I've returned from a few days in Raleigh, NC, with spurs still a-jinglin' yet refreshed from having no laptop or pc in sight for 3 1/2 days.
Lunched on great Indian food after which we enjoyed our first viewing of the engrossing Slumdog Millionaire...didn't quite dance out of theater but definitely considered it...hope all is well with you!

Bernie Madoff to court: Uranus rises with Sun 3.12.09
Noon Update: NPR is reporting that Madoff's cushy penthouse arrangement has ended, he pled guilty to 11 charges as expected and has been led away to jail to await his June 16 sentencing.

Sun-conjunct-Uranus indicates one who is difficult to control and who is intolerant of tradition and the social limitations arising from it. (He seems to have tossed those off years ago!)
Enduring restraints is a particular challenge to Sun-Uranus blends and it will be interesting to hear what results from the Bernie Madoff court proceedings.

Joseph Stiglitz says econo-reform too slow
For years I have thought that the work of Nobel-Prize-winning economist Joseph Stiglitz was as sensible as some and better than most.
Today I find that Mr. Stiglitz 'chairs the commission of experts charged by the UN to investigate possible reforms to the international monetary and financial system' and that the financial crisis is 'an opportunity to to turn his proposals into reality.' (Saturn - reality - to US natal Neptune - ideals = giving form to ideas or ideals.)
At the Davos Forum in early February, Germany's Angela Merkel proposed a world economic council which, along with the UN, would and could 'push through necessary measures...' which sounds much like the one-world-government agenda that the United Nations is believed by some to be in process of implementing.
The current econo-crisis certainly is proving useful for fast-tracking New Economic Order plans with its much-touted sense of urgency, isn't it? Almost as if it were part of a script...

SATELLITE DEBRIS UPDATE: The first catalogued fragments of shattered satellite Cosmos 2251 are about to reenter Earth's atmosphere. According to US Strategic Command tracking data, reentries will occur on March 12, 28 and 30, followed by more in April.
Radar cross sections are not available for all of the reentering pieces; they are probably centimeter-class fragments that pose no threat to people on the ground.

Bush's torture memo authors can't fnd jobs
