Due to spychief Hayden's secret meeting with Congressional enablers today, here's the link to a previous post on Michael Hayden's natal chart with the transits for the day of the never adequately explained gunfire in the Rayburn Building.
Guess it was just another day in Washington.

Today's meeting of invisible-helmet-wearing Pluto, the spy, with Jupiter, the judge, rich man, guru, and Republican is yet another obvious manifestation of today's Great Conjunction and Hayden's meeting with politicians on The Hill.

phone marks replace earmarks!
SLOP from Washington--"bureaucratic slight of hand--backdoor pork barreling"--even Harry Reid is doing it!
They're replacing earmarks with phone marks--$$requests which don't have to be written down as earmarks did! So much for a cleaner, transparent Congress.
(This I overheard on PBS's MarketPlace just now--had to post it until I can find out more. They never learn on the Hill, do they? No, because they're all grunting at the same pig trough.)

Jerry Falwell 1933--2007
UPDATE May 17: the headlines scream that Wolfowitz may resign this afternoon (another good riddance) so Saturn in Leo ploughs on removing those who must go now go now. Will Gonzo join the throng?
Saturn's current passage through Leo (leadership) has taken another leader, Jerry Falwell, as Saturn brings blockages, restrictions, and loss.
Born Aug 11, 1933, Falwell's n Sun 18Leo32 has again been triggered by tr Saturn 18Leo45 now moving direct.
Having natally an opposition between Sun (vitality; the heart) and Saturn 12AQ36 (protective structures; skeletal system; skin) conj IC (endings), it may describe a clear picture of heart problems unless I miss my guess--and I'm not one to keep up with the man's personal details (since I don't believe that Christians can possibly covet the halls of earthly power and remain true to Scripture.)
Between his n Sun and MC 13Leo05--and with Sun as final dispositor of the chart (AstroDataBank gives his natal chart an A rating) there is a midpoint picture worth noting because tr Saturn visited there in August 2006...Neptune/Pluto relates to religion and supernatural concerns...
Neptune/Pluto = tr Saturn: gradual decline of powers and faculties; pessimism; dark forebodings.
Then tr Saturn moved on to n Sun itself, a period of restriction and loss which isn't as difficult if you're a whippersnapper, but at age 74--and with possible heart problems--is a difficult transit to come out of in one piece with all your faculties intact.
Transit Chiron has recently been conjuncting his n Saturn at IC as well, as did undermining Neptune which tends to disintegrate structures when conjuncting Saturn. With his n Sun/Saturn opposition, this means Neptune also opposed n Sun...another indication of eroded (Nep) vitality (Sun.)
All I've heard before checking his chart is the announcement of his passing, so it will be interesting to see if his heart was involved, and if he'd had any surgeries in the last year or so--also indicated.
With n Mars/Chiron midpoint at n MC, this sacred warrior has gone down for the count and my best wishes go out to his family in this time of loss and sadness.

Capitol Hill: Mar 29, 2007
Looking at sunrise this morning on Capitol Hill and at 9:30 am, it looks like as an interesting day as Kyle Sampson, former chief of staff to Alberto Gonzales, testifies on the prosecutor purge.
It's a fiery day with Sun 8Aries+ and Moon 21Leo+, Moon to 22Leo+ by 9:30 am.
This Sun-Moon blend has a few weaknesses such as a tendency to insist on childishly seeing things its own way, and going for the biggest and best before tidying up the debris from past projects. There's a leaning toward letting ego needs for affirmation and applause blind any true self perception.
The debris of this situation won't be tidied up in one day...not to mention the other issues under consideration on the Hill today.

Today tr Uranus is closing the conjunction with tr North Node, Uran/NN = reformist political associations (Ebertin) and at sunrise we see these pictures as the Ura/NN conj meets these tr midpoints:
Sun/Mars = Uranus: premature action; changes of vocation; militarism; impulsive behavior; doing one's work in a state of excitement; forceful adjustment to new circumstances; sudden events. With NN: confederation and association in fighting for the same objectives.
Mars/Asc = Uranus: testiness; picking a fight; argumentation; intimidation; self-aggrandizement. With NN: excellent teamwork; the guidance of others.
9:30 am, the Sun/Mars pictures remain, add:
Saturn/Uranus = Asc: being placed in difficult circumstances; standing alone in the world; the loner's position is established; suffering difficulties caused by others; indecision; mourning.
Saturn/NN = Asc: appearing alone; pulling back; going away.
Moon/Mercury = Asc: sharing one's opinions.
Sun/Mc ("the goal") = Neptune: pursuit of the wrong objectives; apathy and indifference; the wrong attitude to life; confusion or lack of clarity; disappointments; insecurity.
Asc/Mc = Neptune: feeling ill at ease; the necessity to hide one's true nature by feigning, simulating or pretending (well, they are in Washington!);
Pluto/Asc = Uranus: unusual events fan flames further; success at all costs (Machiavelli just wiggled in his grave--I think Karl Rove poked him with a stick); anxiety.
Pluto/Asc = NN: identification of the ego with the larger group; sharing the same destiny with other people; tendency to enter into unusual associations.
Well, it's quite a day in Washington with the Capitol Hill Theater aggrandizing its egos and someone standing alone to take heat that belongs as much elsewhere as anywhere else.
Wish I could keep my eye on the performance but I'll have to check in on it later--around suppertime, after the dust has settled a bit...if it ever will.

109th Congress: lame-duck limping
Here's the picture, the chart for 4:40 am est, Dec 9 as the lame-duck Congress limped to the finish line, after 102 days in session--less than Truman's "Do Nothing Congress" of yore (they logged in at 110 days...I say the 109th should pay back the 8 days' worth of exorbitant pay to our treasury.)
Yet given Republican hubris and their tiresome Bush-rubberstamping, perhaps we should be grateful they had better things to do than to show up and legislate on Capitol Hill this session.
Rising at 4:40 am we see 14Sco49 which is the Descendant of our Presidential Inaugurations (Jan 20, noon), which places Bush the "president" at the setting position in today's chart.
Venus 27Sag42 is conjunct Congress' natal Ascendant, with Pluto just having risen.
First to rise at 4:40 am is Congress' natal Neptune, planet of loss, confusion, deceit, and delusion. It's also associated with the acting profession and it's no secret our "representatives" fancy themselves thespians...yet Neptune may also bring tears of the boo-hoo variety whether crocodile or no.
Sun/Moon midpoint = natal US Saturn: addressing problems; weakened system (I'll say--is there any money left, Rs? Not to mention the ethics issues you left in your sorry wake); separation from the community (buh bye); inhibitions; depression; renunciation.
At the top of the chart we see lonely Saturn--on one level signifying Bush, the isolated leader (in Leo, too) and on another level representing the Democratic Party being on display for a turn as top pup (Jupiter = the R Party.)
Congress' natal Saturn happens to be there as well, 23Leo44, and so we are in the throes of Congress' Saturn Return which is an ongoing process this time due to Saturn's Rx period.
The three dates of Congress' Saturn Return with Sun/Moon Images to give a little of each day's flavor:
1. Oct 28, 2006...Sun Sco/Moon Cap: A general leads his troops to victory...A film director plans each shot to maximize its emotional impact.
2. Jan 13, 2007 (Rx) Sun Cap/Moon Sco: A priest turns his home into a shelter for the sick and homeless...A prisoner in solitary confinement undergoes a conversion and becomes an indefatiguable worker for the transformation and betterment of the lives of his inmates.

Midsummer Night's Dream in their own garden.
So in October we had the general and the film director, Jan 13 brings the priest and the prisoner, and in July (with US natal Sun and Bush's natal Sun both setting in the Saturn Return chart #3) we get the gosling, mother goose , the farm cat, and the theatrical family performing .
Will we be "treated" to the same old Capitol Hill Productions, Act II?
The transiting midpoint of Pluto/Chiron (plutocracy; oppression; racism) has been conjuncting Congress' natal Pluto/Chiron midpoint off and on recently...natal Pluto/Chiron 15Cap27. And Congress recently had its Venus Return on Dec 4 with natal Venus 21Sag54. It's all cycling 'round, m'peops.
And so--the lame-duck-limpingtook place this morning with Sun Sag/Moon Leo:
At an emotionally moving ceremony, a shaman of the gypsies is given an honorary university degree in herbal lore and ancient geography.
Even I had an emotion this morning waking up to NPR talking about the all-nighter limpy Congress pulled--yee haw!! The Dem Party's progressed New Moon cycle has begun!
Would that it may be allowed to do some good for our nation and for the world.
