After the post I published earlier today with mention of America's natal Mercury/Pluto opposition and our Mercury/Pluto cycle which began Jan 18, 1776 @ 26Cap32, I was somehow directed toward an informative article containing info on the current Mercury Rx period (August 20 - Sept 12, 2010), psyops, thought control, propaganda, George Orwell's 1984, Noam Chomsky, and government which I believe you'll find worthwhile.
Especially if you don't appreciate such crap as words used as sinister tools, superficial debates, government programs intended to accomplish the opposite of what their names imply, and being spied on by satellites, cameras, and other contraptions that pry, spy, and nose into what should be nobody's b'ness but your own.
The Thought Overlords' mind control techniques have never been more savvy, effective, and entertaining (she typed as she watched the last 3 minutes of The Emmys with a favorite comedian hosting, Mr. Jimmy Fallon.)

NY Fed Chairman abruptly resigns: Mercury Rx!
An early casualty of Mercury retrograde?
The Chairman of the NY Federal Reserve Bank has abruptly resigned thus making 're-signs' an obvious re- of retrograde Mercury (contracts; agreements.)
Yes, Stephen Friedman was a naughty Fed boy with lots of Goldman Sachs in his portfolio so he's leaving with - my guess - his millions of marbles intact...the golden kind, I mean. Or is he simply attempting to clear out of Dodge before the sheriff shows up at the door?

Astrology of Apr 27 - May 2, 2009 and Pres Obama's chart
Astrologer Julie Demboski has amazed me again with her astrological overview of the upcoming week, so practical yet full of insight.
Julie is calling Apr 27 - May 2 a 'connector week' as we tidy up loose ends and ready for more excitement to come. May 1 is the day she pinpoints for lots happening and notes that a Water Grand Trine forms between Pallas, Earth, and Juno.
This Grand Trine will linger until May 8 so get ready for that. Ecology, environmentalism (Earth) and women's issues may be in the news if not in our hearts with Juno, the wife, and Pallas, the daughter, in the mix.
So What If a Grand Trine is Watery?
A Grand Trine in Water indicates great creativity as the collective unconscious is 'tapped' for inspiration and insight. Pallas' patterning ability and talent for strategizing and planning should give us time and the talent to ready ourselves for what's next on the drafting table - or perhaps for putting what's on the table into action or form, whichever applies.
Water Grand Trines tend to be passive, receptive, and contain the protective power of a trine aspect (120 degr.) Grand Trines are closed circuits of energies and with a Watery quality they have a soothing and tranquil flavor to them that a world in need of respite can appreciate. Either positively or negatively - depending on motives - subtle undercurrents (Water) are intuited (more Water - possibly psychic, are we?) and understood on useful levels of awareness.
The urge to action may be saved for a later agenda, however, and it's difficult to implement plans that haven't been made.

Mercury-to-Moon transits indicate a time of unexpected or sudden contacts from others or of quickly deciding to take a trip. Information (Mercury) received concerns domestic issues (Moon) including real estate matters.
Yes, the real estate market is an obvious theme for the president now since it may not be going as well as the 'green shoots' theory would have us believe (see link to Mike Whitney's article in previous post.) And Mercury does rule reporters.
So if Mercury's Rx station doesn't place these domestic issues on the president's plate for consumption, he'll be snacking on and discussing them at length very soon - the Mercury Rx and Direct stations cross and re-cross Mr. Obama's natal IC which is the cusp of the 4th house of Home and Domestic Scene (using Aug 4, 1961 7:24 pm AHST Honolulu, Hawaii, for Pres. New Years Eve '08 and Venus casting shadows

NEW YEAR'S EVE: What a way to end the year. On Dec 31, Venus and the slender Crescent Moon will gather together high in the southwestern sky for a beautiful conjunction visible for hours after sunset. The two brightest objects in the night sky can be seen through city lights and even fireworks--so everyone can enjoy the show.
Meanwhile, closer to the horizon, Mercury and Jupiter are converging for their own Dec 31 conjunction. This one is not so easy to see, but rewarding for those who make the effort to find the two planets shining through the rosy glow of sunset.

Mercury will perform a Retrograde Station 7AQ45 on Jan 11, and a Direct Station 21Cap45 on Feb 1, leaving its shadow - the planet's previously traveled degrees during this go-round or yearly orbit - on Feb 21, 2009. Plans may move forward more slickly after Feb 21 or so.
The archetypal Mercury in myth is male or female...the eternal youth - boy or girl...hence the 'its' for Mr. Quicksilver.

Tuesday's Full Moon over Washington 10.14.08
Tuesday's Aries Full Moon is the culmination of things begun at the New Moon two weeks ago and relates to relationships - it's on the Aries-Libra partnership axis, plus, Full Moons always relate on some level to relationships no matter the sign.
Economically speaking, 'Bailout 2.0' is supposedly an improvement over Bailout 1.0 and perhaps it will be with Mercury, planet of negotiations and agreements, going Direct at last.
Still, this astrologer could wish that Mercury would leave his shadow period before the big celebrations begin - and that won't be until around Halloween when Mercury moves beyond his retrogradation degree - 22Lib49 of Sept 24 - which conjuncts this Full Moon. Or you might say that this Full Moon is 'pointing' to or highlighting the end of Oct-early November.
Therefore, it's after October when I will be looking for real improvements concerning negotiations, contracts, agreements, congressional bills, and all the things that Mercury is fond of, including voting ballots.

Messenger probe to buzz Mercury Monday 10.6.08
Mercury the Messenger Gets Fly-by from Messenger! was posted in January 2008 when NASA's Messenger craft was approaching the mysterious planet Mercury.
As you know, Mercury is so close the our Sun we hardly know him and tomorrow in the wee hours of the morning, NASA's Messenger probe will fly 125 miles above the surface and take photos of an area about the size of South America.
That Mercury astrologically speaking is now retrograde 14Libra+ isn't considered good for things Mercury is said to 'rule' in Astrology (or affect) so I hope NASA gets all the photos they desire with perfect transmission which is not always seen with Mercury Rx which can also affect travel - on earth, at least.
Both readers of this blog know that I sometimes frisk into degree symbolism including Adriano Carelli's version from his 360 Degrees of the Zodiac.
Let's see what Mercury's degree tomorrow morning '14Lib' says...
"A fox and an ancient theater mask (from one of Aesop's Fables.)"
Oh my good-den-ness! it can't be that this is only a stage presentation to bolster NASA's and the USA's reputation, could it?
You know, I've had the horoscope of America's first landing on the Moon for years now and never published it. Other blogs or sites have, I'm sure, so my own grousings on the squirreliness of the Moon landing chart could make little if any difference to anyone.
Or perhaps it's more that I've simply never gotten 'round to it.
Anyway, let's see if there's anything of interest in Carelli's explanation of this dramatic word picture and see if things get any better for the Messenger:

Well, if that's the sort of message we'll be receiving from eye-in-the-sky NASA and the *ISS, let's hope the fascist corporate-state powers oh-so-recently melded into one strand and now held in Hank Paulson's hand meets its end sooner rather than later.
