"The Happy Warriors" of 2024 and 1924

To Counter Dystopian Darkness

As the world knows by now, DNC 2024 was harmonious and lyrical, and can be said to represent the opposite of the DNC of one hundred years ago, a contentious mess in 1924 held at New York's Madison Square Garden. DNC 1924 took an astounding 103 ballots before nominees John W. Davis (WVA) and Charles W. Bryan (NB) were selected.

So if you have a chance check out Wikipedia's DNC 1924 page, or watch Sean Munger's presentation, 1924: The Fascinating Forgotten Election (recommended, if you have the time, or watch in increments - it won't return to 00:00 so you may have to 'rewind'). Obviously, one reason that few if any voters nowadays remember the Democratic nominees of 1924 is because they lost the election to Republican Calvin Coolidge.

Meanwhile, there's an interesting cosmic time link between DNCs 1924 and 2024 and that's the label of "The Happy Warrior" mentioned by FDR in a speech promoting NY Governor Al Smith as such. The concept is based upon William Wordsworth's poem, "Character of The Happy Warrior" (written in 1806 after the death of the heroic Lord Nelson, published in 1807), with generosity of spirit one of the primary character traits lauded in the poem.

Necessarily, such a trait of kindness disqualifies from the presidency any of the fascist-leaning, dark-vision-promoters of the GOP, a sour-faced, seditious bunch of radical regressives, as you know - irrationally banging their heads against a 19th century brick wall, neuroses on display. There's no such thing as time travel so they're determined to destroy our country to remodel it in Herr Adolf's dark, brutal image - to which I say, We're Not Going Back. Besides, my uncles didn't fight Nazis in WWII only for America to succumb to violent madness and sadistic cruelty now - by electing it!

Now since 1924, the "Happy Warrior" label has been applied to other politicians as well such as Barack Obama who then applied it to his VP Joe Biden - and in 2024 it has been applied to VP candidate Tim Walz. This resonates with what some folks have seen as a similarity between the DNC 2024 nomination of the Harris-Walz ticket compared favorably with the DNC 2008 nomination of Barack Obama and VP Joe Biden. In fact, while commenting on DNC 2024, MSNBC program host Lawrence O'Donnell related a story about once being asked if he wanted to meet the "female Barack Obama." Two guesses as to who this was and the first one doesn't count! Clue: in 2008 she knocked on doors for the Obama campaign - and her initials are KH.

So! Perhaps it's elusive but the main point of this post is that Happy Warrior leaders suit the Spirit of America that a large majority of citizens prefer over the death and destruction of Tr*mp's Project 2025 purging agenda. Therefore, a Vote Blue tsunami is necessary for Harris-Walz and for all down-ballot candidates on November 5th so that the Democratic Senate is retained, and the House of Representatives can be wrested from the seditious hands of Maga saboteurs who grabbed control at Midterms 2022 while brandishing their AR-15s.

VP Harris Accepts Under a YOD Pattern of Karmic Opportunity and a Special Task

At DNC 2024 Chicago last evening, VP Kamala Harris accepted the Democratic Party's presidential nomination at 10:45 pm ET (via my cell phone timestamp as she spoke the words). For your consideration, here's a marked-up Horoscope of that momentous event that I'm labeling, "Kamala Harris Accepts!":

As we know, YOD patterns tend to involve issues of proper timing, and in this case, timing is emphasized by two sextiled bases: Neptune-Pluto and Neptune-Midheaven ('MC', the Goal Point), both pointing toward apex Sun @00Vir30 - conjunct royal Regulus, the king-maker star (queen-maker!) with the star's caution of: success if revenge is avoided; otherwise, all gains will be taken away. This must apply to a Kamala Harris presidency, yes, but since the star rises in the natal chart of Mr. Trump along with this aggressive Mars, the star's caution against his vengeful personality remains operative - and his promise of "so much winning" hasn't turned out quite as he intended. So as most folks realize, cheating is his path to "victory" in November.

All this causes me to wonder: can a President Harris act as an agent of Regulus? After all, the 2024 Election has shaped up to be a case of prosecutor vs perpetrator! For as she's asserted, she "knows his type."

YOD patterns suggest potentials for: karmic opportunity, a special task, crisis (ex: the threat of the P-2025 agenda), a turning point or a crossroads. This, America certainly has reached, as you may agree. Plus, Bil Tierney adds, "A turn of destiny." For VP Harris, and for our democratic Republic, if we can keep it.

Yes, I'm looking forward to tonight's DNC speech by VP nominee, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (introduced by his football team, I heard!), but on a slightly different topic, you see below a bi-wheel of the Inauguration 2025 Horoscope (inner; 01/20/25) surrounded by the natal horoscope of VP Kamala Harris (10/20/64) who will accept the presidential nomination of the Democratic Party this Thursday night (8/22) at DNC 2024 Chicago.

The spotlight in this post is on the Inaugural 2025 position of Jupiter Rx @12Gemini and its Sabian Symbol. Three versions of this degree's Symbol (12Gem) and their corresponding Illumination Points opposite (12Sag) are listed below the bi-wheel. A few additional asto-notes are penned on the image along with the dates of transit Jupiter's Retrograde/Direct path into 2025.

We're talkin' expansive, joyful Jupiter, planet of laughter, how we relate, freedom and optimism, but also of Politics, codified Religion, Corporatism, Broadcasting, Banking and Finance. Then notably, Inaugural Jupiter @11Gem38 conjuncts Inaugural 2nd cusp of Earning Ability, Values, and the National Treasury.

Unsurprisingly, the planet's retrograde condition suggests that withholding funds by opponents is likely over the four-year presidential term coming up - made less of an obstacle if Democrats hold the Senate and regain the House this November. Meanwhile, another hostage-style government shutdown by Republicans may be in the offing around October 1, 2024 (date of the Walz-Vance Debate - see link, below), about one week before Jupiter appears from Earth to pause @21Gem20:15. As you know, shutdowns never work out well for the GOP so they become head-against-brickwall exercises of irrationality and their obsessive neurosis.

Now Jupiter @22Gemini is actually a Jupiter-to-US-1776-Mars transit of "making waves effectively" (N. Tyl) while Jupiter simultaneously squares US 1776 Neptune. This reveals grand idealism but with a potential for scandal (spun or genuine). Helpfully, a break in the nick of time might turn up, yet an important caution is to avoid gullibility when dealing with harsh circumstances (A. Oken).

Facing Reality

For we know that the glorious campaign promises and proposals we're hearing from the Harris-Walz Campaign are a balm for We the People's ears and minds, yet pro-democracy plans will struggle to become reality to any great degree without a Democratic trifecta of all three branches of government - therfore, we must Vote Blue down ballot on November 5th to uplift democracy over the brutal fascism of neo-nazism now marching around the globe - and coming for our children as thugs did in 1926.

8 South Eclipse Themes Affect Election 2024

Previously, the 8 South Eclipse of October 2, 2024 has appeared here on SO'W because it's the Solar Eclipse with influence upon Election 2024 and Inauguration 2025. 8 South themes include loss, separation, sad partings, possible physical injury due to overstrain - undertaking strenuous physical activity is ill-advised (paraphrasing B. Brady). So the question becomes, what could we be talking about in 2024 into 2025?

Historical Events Rhyme as Eclipse Themes Repeat

One way to snag a few clues about 8 South's potential future events in 2024 into 2025 is to look at past occurrences of an 8 South Eclipse and the events that occurred under their influences. Perhaps the last 8 South is a good place to begin which is the 8 South of September 22, 2006 @29Vir20:06, a critical-crisis 29th degree of rash energy. And as we can see, the 8 South Eclipse of 2006 perfected the day prior to Autumn Equinox 2006, aka, the 2006 Libra Ingress. This cosmic marker in time added to the 2006 Eclipse's significance.

Note that additional clues can be found in the Lunar Eclipse Horoscope (not shown) of September 7, 2006 @15Pisces, a degree that has been activated in 2024 by various planets including Saturn. As for tonight's DNC 2024 opening in Chicago, this is the degree of VP Kamala Harris' natal 10th house Chiron in Pisces - and Saturn is the planet of authority and responsibility as President Biden speaks tonight and turns over the leadership of the Democratic Party - to VP Kamala Harris.

We should add that the ill-advised Bush-Cheney Iraq War lasted from March 20, 2003 until December 18, 2011 but its consideration is way beyond the scope of this post as are the war's difficult loss-filled events therein.

And so from September 2006 on, consider the 2006 Events in the US which include the launch of Twitter (a "public square" social platform which is pretty much lost to us already unless you're neo-nazi inclined), and ending with the execution of Iraq's dictator, Saddam Hussein, on December 30, 2006.

DNC Aug 19, 2024: Visions and Dreams!

As you know, today is the first day of DNC 2024 in Chicago, Ilinois, under the auspices of April 2024's 8 North Solar Eclipse @19Ari24 conjunct priestly Chiron (19:24), the Christ archetype in Astrology. This repetition of 8 North is the third of our Great American Eclipses with themes of "visions, vivid dreams, inventiveness, flashes of genius, good ideas, new-found inspiration; freedom is needed for a few days" (B. Brady).

Here you see a bi-wheel of the natal horoscope of VP Kamala Harris (inner), who will accept the Democratic Party's nomination for president on Thursday evening (8/22), and the 8 North Eclipse Horoscope (outer) set for Chicago, Illinois:

For this post, the 8 North Eclipse chart is set for Chicago because of the location of DNC 2024 this week and DNC 2024 themes - her themes (listed, below) - and because locating the visionary 8 North Eclipse there places VP Harris' natal Moon (opposite her natal Sun: she's a Gibbous phase lady) atop the Midheaven ('MC'), the Career and Public Status Point. Plus, mundane Moon = publicity and the public mood. Moon in Aries is a very eager placement!

Note that potentials of Moon-MC = "strong soul ties; appreciation for home and family; people with feeling and sentiment; desire to care for others; a soul relationship with the female sex" (R. Ebertin).

Of course, there are other planetary contacts between the charts and I'm certain you'll spot them, plus, a few astro-notes are sprinkled around the charts including the Sabian Symbol for the 8 North Eclipse degree of "20Aries" = "A Young Girl Feeding Birds in Winter." To me this resonates with VP Harris' proposals that will strengthen families and aid children. However, she'll need victories in both the House and the Senate in order to implement her plans for a brighter future. So my hope is that DNC 2024's Blue Moon in the humanitarian, progressive sign of Aquarius will bring a Blue Wave in November!

DC columnist Drew Pearson and The Merry-Go-Round

Reading the Wikipedia page of fabled DC columnist Drew Pearson we find described a journalist (called by some contemporaries a muckraker and a liar, usually by folks trying to hide something!) who possessed a double fire Sun Sagittarius-Moon Leo personality blend: dramatic, creative, and visionary.

Born during the 1890s' Neptune-Pluto era on December 13, 1897 in Evanston, Illinois, Andrew Russell Pearson's Mercury-Jupiter square is significant in his psyche and natal horoscope especially since messenger Mercury rules communications, journalism, reporting, and reporters. The separating square (unconscious) suggests that a measure of exaggeration may occur but it helps create a dramatic effect.

Meanwhile, his natal Ascendant in fact-based Virgo is ruled by Mercury, and he was born during a Dissemination phase of the Moon - born to spread information. As for his controversial columns that revealed what others preferred to stay hidden, Pearson's natal Mercury is out-of-bounds of the earthly plane (secret meetings with sources?) and forms no aspect other than a Mercury-Jupiter square. And with Jupiter in Libra, we know that fairplay was part of his nature. For example, what Pearson published was always factually backed up by corroborating sources. It's called, journalism.

Plus, the columnist's Mercury is in Capricorn, sign of government, law, and business, as is his North Node @27Cap09 conjunct America's 1776 position of powerful Pluto. Noel Tyl informed me once that a Pluto-NN conjunction is the "tiger by the tail" combo, and columnist Pearson certainly had a growling one beginning in the early 1930s, through Joe McCarthy's 'Red Scare', and into the Civil Rights era of the 1960s.

Neptune-Pluto: corruption, criminality, The Underworld, gangsterism, scandals, mass publication

These areas were persistently exposed by Drew Pearson's reporting on Washington DC politicians whom he perceived to be acting against the public interest. In fact, this weekend I have procured a used copy of Drew Pearson's notes in the form of a book, Washington Merry-Go-Round, pictured below, and I'll point out that the book, first published in July 1931, opens with what I consider to be a revealing dedication:

"To Those Who Still Reach For The Brass Ring."

Why? Because his natal Ascendant @2Vir59 at 10:00 pm CST could be a rounded-off time as sometimes is the case, so that perhaps his Ascendant could actually be "6 Virgo," a degree with the Sabian Symbol of "A Merry-Go-Round" and "reaching for the brass ring"! (Jones). Fourteen minutes later (10:14 pm) also switches his Career Point (MC) from late Taurus at 10:00 pm to Mercurial Gemini, sign of the writer. Plus, his natal Sun conjuncts his Mercury-Saturn midpoint with the duo the sign of the professional writer. This picture also suggests Pearson's "getting down to work" dedication and "knowing what has to be done" ability (N. Tyl).

Yet as you can see in his 10:00 pm A-rated natal horoscope (also shown below) Pearson's Midheaven ('MC') at 27Tau39 is the Zodiacal neighborhood where transit Uranus lurches these days, a transit that can alter one's public reputation. My thought is that the dedicated work of Drew Pearson deserves more recognition in these harrowing days when journalism, or what passes for it, could use all the improvement it can get considering how low it has sunk in the public's opinion.

Of course, bad faith actors have had much to do with the sabotage of truth especially since the neo-fascists poked up their ugly heads. After all, facts are not their specialty, you know, for sane people despise their anti-societal ideas and the weirdos who promote them. Yes, Washington DC, our nation's capital, is infested with enemies and much more so than when I added the description you see above to Stars Over Washington way back in 2005! And slack journalistic practices aren't helping our nation at all nor are those who get their corrupt way via blackmail, bribery, and threats.

So below is a view of Drew Pearson's natal horoscope. An additional note: he passed away from a heart attack on September 1, 1969 Washington DC, not quite making it to a repetition of his 7 South Eclipse Series which manifested on September 11, 1969 @18Virgo with themes of crisis, or huge obstacles suddenly clear (Brady). However, with his death occurring within 10 days, 7 South themes could still have influenced events. Certainly a heart blockage would be an obstacle and a crisis.

August 1969: Pearson's final Jupiter Return (@7Libra43 - square natal Mercury: too little time) had perfected on August 29, 1969, while his 1969 Mars Return was ongoing as a three-fer that year: exact on April 15, May 8, and August 26. We should note that the Mars-Jupiter pair relates to the heart muscle (R. Ebertin). Perhaps a lack of energy was a health complication such as heart failure can bring. Plus, I must sadly report that on his day of death, transit Sun @9Virgo spotlighted his natal Saturn-Pluto midpoint revealing potentials for ill health, enforced changes, injury, physical separation, and privation (N. Tyl; R. Ebertin):

Pearson's Natal Chiron in Scorpio: An intense Quest for answers and depth of purpose; getting to the bottom of things regarding morality, ethics, and principles; may idealize power and/or psychological insight; lessons on sharing power and/or using power wisely (M. Pottenger). This sounds like Drew Pearson to me, how about you?

Autumn Equinox 2025 with a Virgo Eclipse

Skipping ahead to Autumn Equinox 2025, we find that a 9 New South Solar Eclipse enters the cosmic mix. This celestial circumstance will need further information added at some point but for now, I want to place a dual image of two DC Horoscopes: Autumn Equinox 2025, aka, Libra Ingress (lower left), and the 9 New South Eclipse (upper right) which will manifest the afternoon prior to the Sun clocking in @00Lib00:00 on September 22, 2025.

For as you know, the sign shift marks the beginning of Autumn 2025 in the Northern Hemisphere, so here are the two Horoscopes, Equinox and Eclipse of September 2025, with a few astro-notes sprinkled about for curious readers:

When a Solar Eclipse falls in Mercury-ruled Virgo, issues may include discrimination, circumspection, and the work ethic. On a positive level, we notice attributes such as dedication and a strong sense of duty. And since Virgo is one of the practical Earth signs, there may be physical demands, an analytical approach to problems will likely be deemed necessary, and perception and keen observation should be used for best results.

More negatively, Virgoan issues of criticism, perfectionism, and a focus on insignificant details can interfere with finding solutions. Obviously, health concerns, including chronic and/or genetic conditions, dietary matters, and the possibility of contagion are factors which must be dealt with, along with the typical implications of the Virgo-Pisces polarity (victim-savior). Additionally, agricultural issues and food supply concerns cannot be ruled out of the autumnal Virgoan picture, a time of harvest.

Plus, complicating matters are two planets opposing the Eclipse:

Saturn which indicates those who refuse to own up to their responsibilities and place blame on anyone but themselves, and Neptune (conjunct Aries Point) suggesting the tiresome stand-off between reality vs fantasy, delusion and self-delusion, and the chaos and confusion such twisted conditions activate with the aid of bad faith actors.

Naturally, our social safety net programs are denoted by the Saturn-Neptune pairing (weak-poor-ill people), as is materialism vs idealism, and/or invisible or shadow government.

Now while it's true that all the potentials of a 2025 Virgo Solar Eclipse relate to someone's first term in the White House, such an extensive topic is beyond the scope of this post at this early date. However, please check the image for a brief listing of the themes of 9 New South Eclipses.
