Winter Solstice 2022: Don't Tred On Me

Security Minded Cancer-Capricorn: Home and Career

by Jude Cowell

April 19, 2022

Below is a marked-up look ahead at the Winter Solstice 2022 Horoscope; please enlarge the image for there are astro-notes squooshed upon the chart for the curious to read. And note that in Washington DC, Winter Solstice 2022's Goal Point (MC/Midheaven) @8Pis51 receives the dynamic energies of the Moon-Mars opposition which contains "Don't Tred On Me" vibes according to Alan Oken. Plus, the 6th house Moon @8Sag51 (conjunct The Fed's 1910 New Moon during its secretive Jekyll Island planning session) is out-of-bounds ('OOBs') as are Mars, Mercury, and Venus which sounds like a lot of detachment or estrangement from the Collective going on. Meanwhile, Saturn (in blue) is unaspected with asteroid Orpheus the melancholy tagging along (see bottom center of chart for Saturn influences).

Then with the Cardinal World Point of manifestation rising (ASC 00Can50), the fluctuating Moon rules the chart and the 2nd hou$e; see lower left for Luna's applying opposition to testosterone-driven Mars Rx (conjunct greedy Midas and with Gemini-Sagittarius intercepted across the 6/12 axis). With wealthy Pluto in the corporate 8th house, and Moon reflecting The Fed New Moon, finances and investment are naturally on the national agenda as 2022 fades into 2023. Well, of course they are. America's first-ever Pluto Return is ongoing all through 2022. And this is the same position and house occupied by subversive, transformative Pluto in the US Solar Return 2022 Horoscope.

Then as you see, the Solstice Sun @00Cap00:00 (leadership) has just sunk from 7th into 6th house along with asteroid Hygeia so obviously, health and medical issues continue to interfere with America's progress - and possibly with the health of a political leader or two as well as with Covid patients. Of course, military, police, and civil service matters, plus, our daily routines are also suggested whenever the 6th house is involved.

Meanwhile, expansive Jupiter (in green, 10th house) sits upon the Aries Point along with the Mercury-Mars midpoint (see upper right), while Luna leads a BOWL shape of the planets indicating advocacy of a cause or a leader or leaders of a mission.

Notably, Winter Solstice 2022 occurs under the auspices of the 6 South Solar Eclipse of October 25, 2022 @2Scorpio - it's notated on the chart in 5th house as 'PE'. A 6 South Eclipse also occurred on August 31, 1932 as what I've termed the Nazi Rise To Power Eclipse (Berlin horoscope shown) so repetition of a 6 South Eclipse in 2022, considering the current authoritarian energies of a global movement determined again to extinguish democracy and establish world domination, is extremely disturbing, I agree, but such possibilities must be faced - apathy will not rescue democracy.

Therefore, we should note that 6 South's 1932 degree of 8 Virgo conjuncts the IC (the HOW? Point; The Basis or Foundation; Domestic Scene) of the Winter Solstice 2022 Horoscope shown here and this further spotlights the manic 6 South themes marked upon the chart (5th house).

So see what you think, dear reader, perhaps make your own astro-notes, and share your thoughts via on-topic comments:

Can the August 2021 Full Moon plop Trump into Power?

No Plopping of course, Just Reflecting: As Above, So Below!

by Jude Cowell

June 1, 2021: As you've heard, former guy Trump is telling people down in Mar-a-Lago that he expects to be re-instated as president by August (!) so naturally, at the very least, a peek at August 2021 lunations could be interesting. (Chart below: outer = Trump natal planets highlighted in lavender). Of course, such fantastical remarks could be merely part of a money-making scheme, an attempt to keep his various scams afloat and donations coming in.

Cosmic Weather August 2021

First comes a New Moon @16Leo14 on August 8, 2021, a time of seeding plans and the beginning of new activities. No, '16Leo14' isn't conjunct his natal Mars-Pluto midpoint but it is very near his Uranus-Chiron midpoint (16Leo24) of chaos-creating (his specialty). Plus, his 'lucky break' midpoint of Jupiter-Uranus @17Leo40 could possibly be stimulated by the August New Moon, especially if he's aware of it.

From New Moon to Full: Culmination, Fulfillment, Full Awareness, Relationships

My suspicion is that the cosmic clincher, if there is one in August, has to be the Full Moon of August 22, 2021 @29AQ37 and Sun @29Leo37 - conjunct Trump's natal Ascendant-Descendant axis, as you see in the Full Moon Horoscope, above. The bright rays of a Full Moon can act much as a Lunar Eclipse would do with revelations, uncoverings, leaks, disruptions, endings, sudden changes, fulfillment, and/or an illuminating spotlight cast upon the former guy and his fantasy-prone political activities. And often scandal/s may suddenly appear in the news cycle.

Why, it's even possible that at this very moment he and his enablers are devising malicious schemes going forward that he thinks will catapult him back to power "by August" and now muses upon the exciting prospect - and the revenge he'll soon take upon his non-supporters, critics, and the American people (his natal Mars opposes US natal Moon, as we've felt already). Meanwhile, with his ASC-DESC axis involved, royal Regulus (now @00Virgo instead of 29Leo as in 1946) will also take part in the "stormy proceedings" and you know the star's caution: to avoid taking revenge or all that's been gained will be taken away.

("Stormy proceedings" = Mercury-Mars = Ascendant - R. Ebertin.)

Yes, there are a few cosmic factors that may turn out to be more negative than positive for the Orange One such as the Full Moon's Saturn-Neptune midpoint conjunct the Full Moon (feeling emotionally drained; pessimism; a low character) - and guess what? This transit of the Saturn-Neptune midpoint falls precisely opposite Trump's natal Saturn-Neptune midpoint which conjuncts his natal Ascendant (at birth!) and suggests potentials for oppression, depression, emotional suffering caused by others, and/or limitation of freedom (R. Ebertin). Now there's something that would interfere with his political 'come back' dream! And note, lower right, that transit Jupiter Rx @26AQ54 opposes his natal Mars in proud Leo, marking an inauspicious time when efforts on a grand scale may collapse under their own weight!

Now in closing, mention should be made of chart-ruler Mercury's two applying Ptolemaic aspects (listed lower left). First, an opposition to gaslighting Neptune (4A04) suggesting: ideas and plans that are purposefully deceptive, misleading, and/or dangerous; hidden facts, misunderstandings; confusion, mistakes, disappointments; misperceptions; underhanded behavior; and/or unfavorable business negotiations. Add to this a triggering of Trump's natal Mercury-Neptune square of deception, falsehood, lack of discrimination, and fantasy. (And as you see, his natal 2nd hou$e Neptune @5Lib50 is his first natal planet to rise in the Full Moon chart so that his speculator trio of Neptune-Chiron-Jupiter are rising front and center.)

But then Mercury trines powerful Pluto (6A27), a more favorable condition denoting that personal power can be successfully utilized or wielded, research can pay off, and/or promotional campaigns and/or propaganda may have the desired result. But not necessarily for Trump, of course, so we'll have to wait and see who or what benefits more - tyranny or democracy.

And so, dear reader, Trump's 'August idea' seems wacky and little more than a vanity project, I agree, and hopefully there are other worthy chart factors for those who care to find such information in the August 22, 2021 Full Moon Horoscope. If so, I'd love to read your conclusions if you care to share them in a comment but do make sure your name is attached because no comments from 'anonymous' or 'unknown' will be published or considered. And as always, your encouraging FB Shares or Tweets of this post are very much appreciated! jc

Edit June 2, 2021: You know that Trump himself WAS The Great American Eclipse of 2017, right? Well, I neglected in this post to add that the August 22, 2021 Full Moon echoes and activates the 2017 Eclipse which also fell across the former guy's natal ASC-DESC axis so that similar themes hang around as we continue to deal with the orange varmint, the Republicans, and their authoritarian inclinations of tyranny and control. jc

Donald Trump's Bacchian September 2019!

Early September Trump Tweets About Dorian and Other Stuff

Now you don't need me to tell you of recent news stories about Hurricane Dorian, Alabama, Trump's recent flubs and his dumb lies meant to cover his flubs. Meanwhile, beginning the first of September, a certain transiting asteroid, Bacchus, became prominent by traveling in tandem with Mercury exalted in its own sign of discriminating Virgo, and representing such things as communications (exs: speech, tweets, drawing lines with Sharpies, and the telling of lies). And as you know, Virgo is also the sign of The Critic which describes Trump but also describes the boatload of criticism he has received for his latest distraction from other news items he finds personally embarrassing or in some political way, inconvenient (exs: finking out on his trip to Poland, sending Pence in his stead, and Pence's stay at Trump's hotel in Ireland). With so many laws to break playing POTUS, how can Trump ever find the time!

Once his tweeted Weather Forecasts began, we can note that the Sun-Mars conjunction occurred on September 2, 2019 @9Vir41, the position of the 19 North Solar Eclipse of September 1, 2016--the Prenatal Eclipse of both Election 2016 and Inauguration 2017 which occurred opposite deceptive Neptune but which called for 'realism, truth-tackling, coming down to earth, and seeing an old situation for what it really is' (Brady). This continues to be excruciating for the public as Trump's lies, head-fakes, and fraudulent actions and behaviors pile up and up thanks in part to deceitful Neptune in secretive, scandal-prone Pisces gumming up the works, undermining the truth...and continuing to conjoin and thus disguise America's progressed POTUS Sun now floating about in mid-Pisces. In other words, Neptune gives Trump 'cover' as they like to say in politics.

And so the schedule of transiting Bacchus extends through the month for on September 3rd Bacchus picked up a second traveling partner, Mars in Virgo, and naturally when Mercury and Mars combine energies there are often political opinions of a forceful nature to accidentally or purposefully unnerve the populace and/or annoy an audience. Of course, other planetary transits and factors are influencing current events now as well but our focus today is on fatty grub Bacchus.

Then on September 4th, with Trump still Dorian-tweeting, the Sun caught up and added its bright rays of public attention upon Bacchus, an ancient 'god' and cult-leader associated with 'the outsider' and one of the primary asteroid-archetypes I have previously suggested as an astrological significator for Donald Trump, calling him a Bacchus figure (see his image, above).

Now it may be that the current kerfuffle over Trump's Dorian tempest imaginings will settle down or be superseded by a new flub or scandal soon--or, things won't settle down until transiting Bacchus is left behind without a planetary limelight under which to cavort. However, Bacchus keeps the Sun's attention from now and through the 30 degrees of Libra, then loses the limelight as the Sun enters Scorpio on or about October 23rd leaving Bacchus behind in late Libra.

Whew! You'd think that even self-indulgent Bacchus would need a break from his revels before that. Wouldn't you?

Astrology of 2016 Republican Candidate John Kasich

If you're curious, here is a bio of John Kasich which you may find to be quite mild. And without a known birth time for the former US Representative (1983--2001) and current Governor of Ohio (since 2011), we must depend on a somewhat out-of-focus reading of his natal planets since an accurate birth hour would helpfully time the Ascendant and other house cusps if we knew it. The natal info below is based upon a horoscope set for noon on May 13, 1952 (age 63) in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania. Angles are not considered:

Governor Kasich was born under a 22-degree + Taurus Sun with the Moon in Capricorn for the entire 24-hours of May 13, 1952. This personality blend gives him a double-Earth nature of practicality and common sense. No, there are not a lot of frills here, but there is a traditionalist willing to take on responsibility--one who relies on logic and realism, and possesses a paternalistic authoritarian mindset. (You know, like old men who want to dictate how a woman makes health decisions for her own body? see the Thom Hartmann clip, below, where he mentions Kasich's recently stated view on punishment for abortion.) My thought is that John Kasich campaigns on being his own man (as a conservative Republican) so from this I gather that his paternalistic keep-women-down nature fits perfectly with the misogynist GOP agenda--their attempt to take America back to the pre-1850s. (Or with theocrat Reconstructionist Ted Cruz, back to the laws of ancient Israel.)

And with John Kasich's Sun Taurus-Moon Capricorn personality, we know that ambition and striving for possessions, power, and control are foremost for him and yes, this is a good blend to have if you're a politician. Many people tend to place their confidence in such a dependable Taurus-Capricorn fellow and this one has a strong inner sense of confidence and integrity. Shrewd in business dealings, Gov. Kasich as a critic can be severe and completely honest in his assessments and he commands respect from others. Not one to forget when he's been wronged or slighted, he can also be kind and affectionate in private and when feeling secure though Taurus always adds a streak of pig-headedness to most any personality.

Mercury, Planet of Thinking, Planning, and Communicating

John Kasich's Mercury in late Aries widely opposes his Mars Rx in early Scorpio (7A27) and hints at a brusque manner and way of speaking to the point. This pair of planets relates quite often to Politics and shows an alert mind and good intellectual capacity. With maturity he has learned to avoid arguing whenever possible and perhaps the art of compromise has somehow been absorbed. One must wonder if he should become the denizen of the Oval Office how much compromise he'll feel is appropriate with his opponents. This opposition may cause him to draw conclusions too readily before hearing or knowing all the facts. Plus, Mercury is also in an out-of-sign conjunction (4A51) with expansive Jupiter in Venus-ruled Taurus which denotes far-reaching plans, a talent for communications, and a deep thirst for knowledge (which probably aids him with his Mercury-Mars opposition's tendency to jump to conclusions--he's something of a know-it-all.)

So does any of this Astrology portend Governor Kasich to be the victor of the November 8, 2016 Presidential Election? No. It doesn't. Actually, we're talking personality traits. Yet perhaps more importantly, I see no close links from his planets to US natal Moon in Aquarius (We the People) which may be one reason he's had difficulty gaining approval with the general public. Yet when folks listen closely to his message, they tend to be impressed (Mercury sextile North Node--2S25).

Of course, if we knew Kasich's accurate time of birth we might find US Moon on an Angle of his chart which could boost his presidential aspirations yet with his long career in government I don't think he sounds much like the outsider that Venus portends in November, do you?

Mercury square Mars and locations for the solar eclipse: Steve Judd

Mercury-Mars signatures are always favored around Stars Over Washington for their political connotations, propensity toward debate (preferably of issues, not personalities), and strong opinions (which may or may not be expressed). Mercury square Mars and more are well addressed here by astrologer Steve Judd along with information on the March 9, 2016 Solar Eclipse:
