Rob McConnell's interview with Geoff Gilson, author of Maggie's Hammer, is an intriguing introduction to Mr Gilson's investigation into the mysterious death of his best friend and PM Margaret Thatcher's favorite speechwriter Hugh John Simmonds CBE in November 1988. Gilson's investigation lead him into such shady areas as illegal arms trafficking, political slush funds, high corruption, the Cold War, Iran and Iraq, a global network of crooks (known around Stars Over Washington as, the Syndicate, the Octopus, the Global Crime Network, mafia-style, or the Illuminati), "Britain's 30-year secret role as America's hired gun," and "a secret that explains much of contemporary history."

Mr. Gilson also mentions the sense that most people around the world have that events "are being arranged and controlled by other people" and how the 'outsider' status of 2016 candidates Senator Bernie Sanders and mogul Donald Trump seem to be our chance to rebel against that control. Curiously, their 'outsider' status tallies with the prognostication noted in a previous post The Venus Cycle and Presidential Election 2016.
