Sun/South Node of the Moon contacts have karmic implications that place obstacles in the path of solar objectives due to selfishly promoting one's ambitions at the expense of others. Recognition for what has been achieved is often denied and the conjunction suggests a lack of popularity with the public, and, at best, fluctuating success.

Note that in Western Astrology, the South Node of the Moon is said to have a Saturnian separative quality while the North Node has a Jupiterian joining quality. Some systems vary from this but it's how I tend to think of the karmic Nodal axis along with destiny and future direction (NN), and past tendencies and talents (SN) which we still depend on even though they no longer solve issues in the present, aka, neuroses.

In 2018 the 'Tail of the Dragon' Swiped US POTUS Sun: Ouch!

Although the catastrophes and natural disasters of 2018 may have faded somewhat in memory due to our current problems, one remarkable and predictive fact remains: that Year 2018 opened with a Super Blue Blood Moon, a stunning Total Lunar Eclipse on January 31, 2018 @11Leo37. As auspicious cosmic events go, this lunation heralded a difficult year to say the least. At the US-Mexican border, Trump and his minions ripped children from the arms of their mothers, massive California wild fires caused loss and death (as in 2020), huge bankruptcies were filed (exs: Sears and Toys'R'Us), Trump and Putin sweetly smooched in Helsinki, Robert Mueller was busy investigating, the Kavanaugh confirmation hearing and subsequent swearing-in caused upheaval, Jeff Bezos became the wealthiest man in the world (disgruntling Trump), Manafort and Cohen put Trump in a well-deserved hot seat - and then there were the deaths of John McCain, Barbara Bush, and George H.W. Bush, among other US and world events. Oh! And in May Meghan Markle married Prince Harry.

One political bright spot for a majority of Americans in November 2018 was our 'Blue Wave' turn-out at Midterm Elections which flipped the House for the Democrats. Yet regrettably, Republicans retained control of the Senate and somehow managed to gain two seats. As you know, Mitch "grim reaper" McConnell continues in 2020 to control all proposals of progressive change which would ease the suffering of the American people. He enjoys our suffering, some say, even laughs at it. Apparently, "Moscow Mitch" is a 'let 'em eat cake' kind of guy. Well, perhaps you saw Mitch on camera with Amy McGrath having a good ole laugh when called out over the Senate going on vacation this summer instead of providing Covid relief. Charming (snark).

Running in the background of our lives, Solar Eclipses of 2018 were prominent:

In February came a 1 South Eclipse ('flooded with options' or just flooded with Neptune in watery Pisces) conjunct US natal Moon (27AQ). Then the 2 Old North Eclipse in July was a repeat of Trump's own Prenatal Eclipse Series ('PE') with its 'unfortunate news' and 'separation' themes.

Yet the significant 'cosmic blink'/'wild card' eclipse of 2018 was 2 New North 'The Tower Eclipse' of August 11, 2018 @18Leo41 ('collapse of lifestyles and plans, major rebuilding once the dust settles' - Brady). Perhaps you agree that 'The Tower' Eclipse themes remain with us today and may be attributed in large part to the Covid pandemic. Such themes and events show that new leadership is needed for such rebuilding after the destruction wrought during Trump's four years playing the POTUS role. Going forward, the Uranian saboteur has no solutions, only more crazy uncle-ness, division, chaos, rage, and destruction. And wouldn't you know? So with major societal changes and reforms due with the approaching Jupiter-Saturn Conjunction on December 21, 2020 @00AQ29 - conjunct US POTUS Sun (@00AQ49 at noon January 20, 2017 = Trump) - I'm posting the 2018 SN-to-POTUS-Sun horoscope for reconsideration, and as always your on-topic comments are welcome and appreciated! So let's close with another triggering of US POTUS Sun: In the realm of Politics there was at least one other activation of 00Aquarius, a significant conjunction because it was transit Uranus to 00AQ00 (Technology; 'global cooperation'? 'Age of Aquarius'?) on January 12, 1996 during the Bill Clinton era. So that Uranian cosmic event began America's Year 1996 with unpredicability and a few shocks, plus, Pluto's entry into Sagittarius. Now I ask you: is the Collective already in, or about to enter, the fabled 'Age of Aquarius'? If so, I must say that so far, it's not all that. Yet things could improve when we consider 2018's Blue Wave, and the fact that in 2020 we are in desperate need of a Blue Tsunami too big to rig! So please, dear reader, see what you can do about that, would ya?

The October 24, 2018 Full Moon @1Tau18 conjunct disruptive Uranus has found a path across the Internet, not the least because it is the last lunation ('Syzygy Moon') prior to the November 6th Midterm Elections which are pivotal for any successful resistance to Trump's anti-democratic agenda via a Democratic blue wave or, better yet, a blue tsunami.

So perhaps you've already seen the DC Horoscope of the October 24th Full Moon (horoscope shown with details) but if you're looking for a non-political, more personal assessment, there are multiple online astrologers to oblige. Here are a three links to excellent Oct 24th Full Moon posts for your consideration and in no particular order:

Now, since this is 'Stars Over Washington' let's consider potentials of the Moon-Uranus combination of energies in the realms of Politics and Business as detailed by astrologer Michael Munkasey in his book Midpoints: Unleashing the Power of the Planets but beware: some of the following may remind you of a certain individual:

Thesis: An enterprise with great insight into the needs of its people, yet one which has a very unusual way of showing care and appreciation toward its population; unconventional rulers with an emotional flair.

Antithesis: Leaders who rule at whim with little sense of how their enterprise is seen by the rest of the world; an emotionally immature person placed in an important and visible leadership role.

2018 candidate Stacey Abrams born December 9, 1973

October 16, 2018: 2018 candidate for the governorship of Georgia Stacey Abrams was born on December 9, 1973 in Madison, Wisconsin. With birth time unknown, a quick peek at her 'noon' horoscope shows a personality blend of Sun Sagittarius-Moon Gemini (the opposite of Donald Trump's!) with her Moon ranging from 5Gem36 to 20Gem37 during the 24-hour period. This is a Fire-Air combo of a 'live wire' full of exciting idea and communication skills that may get carried away with its eloquent rhetoric yet her cleverness and charisma are very attractive to others.

According to her Sun-Moon blend, Stacey Abrams is inventive, logical, ironic, sociable, and fun-loving although a YOD pattern with her Mercury-Venus sextile at its base and pointing toward Saturn Rx @2Can19 forms an interesting midpoint picture of thoroughness and a serious attitude toward life (Ebertin).

As for the Prenatal Solar Eclipse ('PE') of Stacey Abrams, it occurred on June 30, 1973 @9Cancer (conjunct Trump's natal Mercury!) in the 11 South Saros series. This is a difficult series with themes of 'systems fail and new methods and sudden reforms are needed in order to deal with events' which works for this native Georgian if it implies her victory over her Republican challenger Brian Kemp. In addition, solar eclipses in the 11 South series also suggest that 'any blocks could be violently or tragically removed' (Brady) which might refer in the current campaign season to the violence Brian Kemp and the Republicans in Georgia (my home state) are doing to 'win' by suppressing the Democratic vote on November 6, 2018.

An eclipse last manifested in the 11 South series on July 22, 2009 @29Can26 and another will occur on August 2, 2027 @10Leo opposite her natal Jupiter in Aquarius. And on November 6, 2018, transit Saturn will be @5Capricorn so the 'old man' planet recently opposed her natal Saturn, a period when one must take to heart lessons about what failed in the past and what is obviously not working presently so that plans can be made for taking constructive actions once the Saturnian influence passes. And since restrictive Saturn is associated with government, law (she's a lawyer), business, authority, realism, authenticity, and karma, we may expect this to be a fortuitous condition for a serious-minded lady candidate who may be victorious in the 2018 Midterms for if so, Stacey Abrams Could Become America's First Black Female Governor--If She Can Turn Georgia Blue which suggests her tendency toward breaking boundaries which are also ruled by astrological Saturn!

Stars Over Washington Turns 13!

Tomorrow October 16, 2018, Stars Over Washington reaches its 13th anniversary! Beginning this blog using Astrology as a lens to investigate Politics and politicians on October 16, 2005, my frustration level with the Bush-Cheney regime and the rest of the Vulcan liars determined to scam the American people into war/s may not have decreased but it seemed a pretty good way to deal with my emotions at the time and blogging forward into 2018.

Now here's a quick comparison of the 'personality' of SO'W at its 2005 inception and how it fares for the upcoming year into 2019 using its founding blend of Sun Libra-Moon Aries (Air-Fire), then on to tomorrow's blend of Sun Libra-Moon Capricorn (Air-Earth):

Sun Libra-Moon Aries is a lively, outspoken combination of a spunky crusader with aspirations for social harmony and justice. This blend is the natal blend of luminaries such as Coltrane, Fermi, Verdi, Pavarotti, and poet e.e. cummings whose sentiment I shared then (and now), "A politician is an arse upon which everyone has sat except a man." Maintaining a low opinion of most politicians as I do, having such a quote connected to SO'W was and is okay by me. And if you read the description of SO'W under its title, the infestation of corrupt politicians and their enablers has only increased under Donald Trump so more ridicule is needed, not less.

2018 Sun Libra-Moon Capricorn (conjunct Pluto!): a believer in fair play, law and order, and ethical systems (know how we can get one?), this is a purposeful, pragmatic blend with a social conscience and a sense of duty. (Please note that my personal sense of duty is for the sake of my country which is why for years I have written and published this 'freebie' blog.)

One luminary born under the auspices of this blend is Black Panther co-founder Bobby Seale and I close this celebratory post with his prescient quote which, in my opinion, must now be applied to all Americans as we face the 2018 Midterm Elections, said to be a referendum on the policies and anti-democratic 'leadership' of Donald Trump. According to Astrology, there is a distinct possibility of a Blue Wave which must be a Blue Tsunami in order to succeed against GOP cheaters:

Trump Neglects Presidential Oath to Defend the Constitution So We Must Do It

The US Constitution's Progressed New Moon is a symbolic marker for the seeding of a new phase of activity and perfects one day prior to the 2018 Midterms when American voters must roar back their rejection of the alt-right and ring-wing instigators and infiltrators now seeking to radically reform our Constitution. Revoking the Seventeenth Amendment, which would be a regression to prevent voters from electing US senators, and shoving a Voter ID law into the 'freedom' document are but two of the reforms they intend under the misleading guise of "The Liberty Amendments." (There's a book of that title popular with rightists but I refuse to link to it here because it fronts for their deceptive scheme.)

Now protecting the US Constitution is but one of many reasons to Vote Democrat on November 6, 2018--not because all Democrats are groovy but because corporate Republicans suck at democracy and prefer Russia to the America most Americans intend to keep, thanks very much, even while Trump voters follow him off a cliff into the abyss of totalitarianism. Meanwhile, the ongoing alliance between 'economic royalists' like Trump, the Kochs, the Mercers, and their handmaidens in the Republican Party and abroad have the US Constitution in their sights.

But with a massive wave of Democratic votes from the millennial generation and women voters, We The People can stop these anti-constitutional chaos agents at the November 6, 2018 barricade!

Robert Mueller appointed May 17, 2017 - w 2018 Eclipse

Tomorrow, Thursday May 17, 2018, is the first anniversary/Solar Return of the appointment of Robert Mueller III as Special Counsel to investigate Donald Trump, the Trump campaign, his associates, and their ties or conspiracies, if any, to or with Russia and Vladimir Putin. On Thursday, the Sun will precisely return to its 2017 degree at 5:44 pm edt (based on its 2017 degree at noon edt). In the Solar Return 2018 chart (not shown), Midheaven @2Leo27 sports the 2017 position of asteroid Atlantis @2Leo01 (abuse or misuse of power; divine retribution; feelings of doom). Obviously, the themes of astrological Atlantis are very much a part of the Mueller investigation into the affairs of Donald Trump and we may also wish to note that in 2017, Nemesis, the unbeatable foe, opposed Atlantis.

And here's a cosmic curiosity: 2Leo+ also happens to be the position of personal name asteroid 'Mueller' on the day of Robert Mueller was born! (you can't make this stuff up).

On May 17, 2017 (Washington DC), the Sun @26Tau55 conjoined the nastiest star in the heavens, Algol, of Medusa-Head fame, the occupant of Mr. Trump's natal Midheaven. Regretfully for Mr. Trump and for the country he now haphazardly leads, enraged Algol at Midheaven has an especially malevolent reputation for potentials such as mob violence, murderous tendencies, and the possibility of a tragic end (Devore). Along with royal Regulus rising (success if revenge is avoided--otherwise, all that's gained will be taken away--Brady), this has been the cosmic condition of Donald Trump since birth (natal MC) and the Mueller probe is now the spotlight shining brightly upon the star's turbulence and affecting the enraged Mr. Trump's career and public reputation on the world stage (MC).

Of course, you see that Mr. Trump's natal IC @25Scorpio is affected (family; domestic scene) as transit Jupiter in Scorpio approaches and readies to enter Trump's natal 4th house from whence his his natal Uranus-NN-Sun trio will eventually be opposed--conflicts and unfavorable conditions are indicated for an extended period once the Jupiter oppositions begin in 2019. (Also see the penned note, bottom center of the chart: "transit Jupiter oppo 2017 Sun Oct 25, 2018".) Yet some respite may be felt for transit Jupiter will also conjoin Trump's natal Moon @21Sag, usually a happy time unless negative conditions interfere overmuch. For him this may be the case due to his natal Moon-South Node conjunction visited by tr Jupiter so perhaps happy expectations won't be met since a Jupiter-SN contact often denotes blocked endeavors and ethical clashes (as with current conditions). Actually, a look back at the period when this transit of Jupiter occurred about 12 years prior would be fruitful for those who have the time.

Many Towers Totter Across the Globe

As for the bi-wheel pictured above, the outer chart of The Tower Solar Eclipse of August 11, 2018 @18Leo41 is shown because of the involvement of Trump Tower in the ongoing Mueller investigation and the structure's location of at least two significant meetings (June 9, 2016 and December 12, 2017) under Mueller's scrutiny when Russians came to call--and because Trump is so very proud of this building with his name upon it. Plus, this Solar Eclipse conjoins the noon Ascendant of May 17, 2017 (Washington DC) and so I have used it to show upcoming transits to Mr. Mueller's appointment. Also note that a Solar Eclipse in Sun-ruled Leo indicates that karmic progress can only be made if the negative qualities of Leo are avoided--pride, vanity, egocentricity, pomposity, and ostentatious display (Lineman). It also confirms a karmic relationship with one or more offspring--offspring such as Donald Junior whose involvement in the Trump Organization and actions during the 2016 Campaign such as contacts with Russians and others are in the cross hairs of Robert Mueller's Special Counsel investigation.

Now planet Pluto of the (criminal) Underworld holds an important position in both charts @19Capricorn+ but in 2018 Pluto is unaspected and thus detached from any planet in the Eclipse chart, and unable to offer its regenerative power. For Donald Trump this condition of a lonely Pluto is a 'natal echo' since his natal Pluto @10Leo02 is also unaspected which I have previously termed "overshadowed by shadows" as we recently discussed when we took a ginger step into Donald Trump's 12th house of the Unconscious.

And perhaps you remember that May 17, 2017 happened to be the very date of the first of five Neptune Returns (14Pis01, as you see!) of the Republican Party (of 1854). Synchronicity much? The last of the five conjunctions perfects on December 29, 2018 which takes party members into 2019 with a disappointing wilt rather than a bang. And as you know, a difficult star inhabits the region of 15Pisces--Achernar = crisis at the end of the river, or, the risk of rapid endings. Yes, many Capitol Hill resignations have been announced with the probability of more to come--plus midterm election losses in November if a 'Blue Wave' is allowed to wash over America and voters mobilize themselves in great numbers.

Well, there are many more chart factors of interest here but as usual this should remain a post not a book so let's close with a few notes on the May 17, 2017 Sun-Moon blend which sounds like a description of Robert Mueller to me--at least in comparison to the squishy, quirky, changeable Donald Trump whose natal Uranus @18Gemini (his guiding planet) hints of his China connections:

Earth-Air Sun Taurus-Moon Aquarius: independent, fair, honest, morally sound, shrewd, tenacious, objective, realistic, committed to principles, resourceful, trustworthy, and capable; can be stubborn and overconfident which can come across as conceited. August 2018: Democratic Party's natal Saturn eclipsed

In 2014, I published a horoscope for the Democratic Party set for February 17, 1801 1:00 pm LMT Washington DC. This founding data is apparently based on The Papers of Thomas Jefferson, according to an astute reader of SO'W who took strong exception to a version I had previously posted.

The reason I mention this today concerns the current turmoil in Washington DC and the problems said to be occurring within the Republican Party. Why? Because The Tower Solar Eclipse which manifests on August 11, 2018 @19Leo will 'eclipse' the natal 3rd house Saturn in the 1801 Democratic Party horoscope which may be viewed by following the link, above. Of course, astrological Saturn represents various things such as the status quo, The Establishment, reality, authority, seniority, accountability, the boss, lawmakers and lawyers, legal matters, business managers, government officials, limitations and rules, denials or delays, the past, and the potential for karmic losses based on past actions. At times in Political Astrology, Saturn also represents the Democratic Party, other times the Republican. The parties tend to switch roles between generous Jupiter and austere Saturn depending on who's being extravagant and who's complaining about it in order to score political points. Basically, America has 'ruling elite' vs We The People which you've undoubtedly noticed before now.

So I find it curious that a 'Blue Wave' of voters leaning against Republican candidates is said to be arriving at Midterm Elections 2018 and The Tower Solar Eclipse, the Prenatal Solar Eclipse of the Midterms! with its 'collapse' motif, seems to hint at the possibility of a landslide for the Democrats in the House if not the Senate--unless the entire election system collapses. Democrats need to gain 23 seats to control the House yet considering past election cheating in the US (exs: hacking of ballot machines, voter suppression, gerrymandering of districts, dark money and propaganda paid for by meddling billionaires and oligarchs, compromised SCOTUS justices, media echo chambers, foreign interference which has not been addressed and therefore is championed) We the People cannot be certain that the results of the 2018 Midterms will be honestly tallied and announced. Besides, it's not who or how many vote, it's who counts the votes, isn't it? And with Uranian chaos-creator Trump behaving just like Putin would do, we know how the kingpin-in-chief stands on such GOP-favoring tactics which may actually expand due to Republican fears of a Blue Wave.

For these deceptive tactics, and by November perhaps for other reasons, an 'eclipse' of the Democratic Party's natal Saturn implies to me the possibility that a 'Blue Wave' will be diverted at least partially by the GOP and their financial backers and political operatives, both here and abroad. And of course influences brought by the August 11, 2018 Solar Eclipse can begin as early as late July so let's keep collapse themes--political, social, political party, White House, crime families, and/or financial--in mind as Summer 2018 proceeds toward November Midterms and slightly into 2019 for the first Solar Eclipse of 2019 manifests on January 6 @15Capricorn in the 2 South Saros Series of gaining a great deal from group involvement (Brady). This may relate to any and all winners on November 6th and times the first week in January when new congress members will be sworn into office on Capitol Hill. Considering all the Republican defections and resignations this year, there should be quite a number of oaths taken.

So in spite of political dirty tricks used and inconvenient secrets revealed, all Trump resisters must hope that, as promised, millennial voters will turn out en masse on November 6, 2018 and vote the varmints out! Disagree if you must (and knowing that Democrats are compromised corporatists, too, but slightly less objectionable toward the general population)...there it is.

Now is it curious that astrological Neptune, planet of erosion, deception, and fraud, also rules the blue seas and the waves--and is now in process while floating through its own sign of Pisces of perfecting an ongoing five-fer Neptune Return to the watery planet's 1854 position (14Pisces) in the Republican Party natal chart?

Apparently for the GOP, 2018 may be a Blue Wave time indeed!

Related is a discussion in the Noel Tyl forum of the founding of the Republican Party with horoscope included. Closest natal planet to the degree of The Tower Eclipse (18Leo41) is the Republicans' 1854 Mars @26Leo--not close enough) which in 1946 was conjoined by the natal Mars (rising) of a red-faced little Donald Trump. His baby days are long over, but he's still red-faced and squalling.

Also note that at least one other version of a Democratic Party horoscope exists, one by astrologer William Stickevers set for May 21, 1814 12:00 pm LMT Baltimore, Maryland. Is this a Maryland State Party chart or is it national? On Facebook I've asked William for historical information and will await his reply, if any, since Google searches have been unsatisfactory so far.

Over the last few days, news of the Sinclair Broadcasting Group's plans to purchase localized media in order to spread conservative, pro-Trump propaganda has made the news. However, these plans are doomed to fail, and not just because of the Mueller investigation. Why?

This Mueller investigation is far beyond left vs. right (Mueller and Rosenstein are both Republicans, and so was McCabe, so any news source telling you otherwise, like Fox News, Breitbart, Infowars, and any Sinclair-owned station, is technically "fake news"), but about US vs. Russia. Freedom vs. Tyranny. Law vs. Crime. Basically the FBI is doing their job, putting their biases aside, and defending the Constitution. Serving the people. Something the Trump administration knows nothing about. And Rosenstein was installed in his position by Trump in the first place, so he easily could have put somebody other than Mueller in Comey's place, who would have stopped the investigation, but his principles won over loyalty in the end. That is why justice will eventually be served. After all, the Trump administration started during Mercury in shadow retrograde, while the tax plan, net neutrality repeal, and FOSTA/SESTA bills were all passed during Mercury retrograde, which means they'll all be undone in some way, so that gives more evidence that the election itself will likely be nullified, as Russia has infiltrated more countries than the US, most notably the UK and the Brexit situation.

While Sinclair's agenda is definitely scary, it is doomed to fail for many reasons that they can't control at all. And the GOP has so little momentum right now that the "blue wave" in the midterms is basically inevitable, which will put a halt to the plans of Putin, Sinclair, the Mercers, the Koch Brothers, and basically anyone associated with the Republican party.
