As protestors march in Washington today Bush is actually in town! Wonder what his aides will go through to keep his nibs' sensibilities from being offended by the people whose opinions he cares not a fig for.

Energy proposals that were going to knock your socks off, said Bush aides about the SOTU address the other night. Fighting a forest fire with a garden hose turns out to be the consensus on Bush's ideas for energy conservation.

Cellulose conversion must be part of the plan--corn ain't enough, says Tom Harkin. Well, he didn't say, ain't. But it ain't.

I just hope all this protesting today isn't using another garden hose. And my tar'n'feather fund is still bubbling for those who are ready for Cheney and Bush on a rail...

David Petraeus Nov 7, 1952

It's been said that if anyone can improve the situation in Iraq, it's Gen. David Petraeus.

Here's his solar/sunrise chart for Nov 7, 1952. Wikipedia gives him as 'growing up in Cornwall on the Hudson, NY' but doesn't say he was born there. Of Dutch-American parents, his father was a 'sea captain' which may be inferred from Saturn (father) conjunct Neptune (the sea), among other things.

And with the sunrise's Sun/Moon 18Vir11, he will surely be an early mention in tonight's SOTU address by Bush, the man who appointed him with a hail-mary pass. And after wondering several weeks ago here on SO'W just who Jupiter was representing--Jupiter, the General--it is fairly safe to assume--given how things have played out with Bush's isolation and the Iraq War--that Petraeus, on some level, is Jupiter.

This may be supported by his natal Sun/Jupiter opposition--which certainly makes Petraeus a Jupiterian--but unfortunately, a Sun/Jup opposition indicates someone who tends to promise more than he can deliver.

Yet unless he was born a minute or so prior to midnight, his natal Sun-Moon personality blend is Sun Sco/Moon Cancer which may help him rein in his out-of-bounds tendencies (which include having Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars out-of-bounds making him exceptional--perhaps a thinker-out-of-the-box extraordinaire.)

With natal Mars exalted in Capricorn--an efficient and appropriately controlled placement for Mars to be--military authority has been his desire--now satisfied with promotion to General status.

And so we see that the mailed-fist-in-a-velvet glove combo of Sun Sco/Moon Can gives him resilience, courage, and an ability to "feel where things are at" and then to take appropriate action to do something about helping restore harmony.

Sounds great but rescuing Bush's Iraq mess will be the miracle of the century if he can help there--and will Bush take his advice? Will US politics will be more important in Washington?

And it must be the 'velvet glove' people respond to so easily since he seems to be well-liked by all who know him.

Outside Petraeus' chart I have scribbled the transits for Jan 4, 2007, Sun conj Mc--when his commandership was announced and okayed by Bush. The operative midpoint of the day, however, was speculative, dreamy, philosophical Jupiter/Neptune....

Jup/Nep = Sun: speculation; irresponsibility; squadering of physical strength; the act of deceiving or being deceived; following a dream; potentially misguided states; feeling the spirit.

Jup/Nep = Mc: a visionary; a fortune-hunter; a speculator; a squaderer or spendthrift; harm or damage through thoughtlessness; potential for all kinds of self-indulgence.

(Note: there is some indication in his natal chart of alcoholism but hopefully that monkey resides the appropriate cage.)

SOTU 2007: drawer full of diamonds?

Tony Snow said that picking out the best part of Bush's SOTU address Tuesday evening would be like looking through a "drawer full of diamonds."

Now what Sabian Symbol do we know that relates to such a poetic image? It's the last Great Conjunction of Jupiter (Rs) and Saturn (Ds) on May 28, 2000..."23Tau": "A jewelry shop filled with the most magnificent gems." We are still in that cycle (since a conjunction begins any planetary cycle) and are now past their square/blockage stage and heading for the helpful, cooperative trine stage. Yippee...the rich get richer.

But as for Tuesday night's show...I've set this chart for 9 pm--at 9:02 and 9:03 pm, the transiting cusps will conj Bush' secondary progressed cusps...if you click chart to enlarge, you will see his sec (secondary) planets scribbled 'round the outside of the chart with nebulous, delusional Neptune first to rise.

Everyone knows it easier to deceive others if you've first deceived yourself.

You'll also see a few asteroids such as tr Sun conj ICARUS of the melted wings. Wounded Chiron is conj PALLAS, keywords: strategy; wisdom.

Chiron/PALLAS' degree "10AQ": "A popularity which proves ephemeral." Does this describe Bush limping through his second term--or perhaps the tarnished "popularity" of his 'surge' plan? That would have to be among the few Rs who still give it lip service, of course.

Moon in Aries = "I AM the People" so he'll suppposedly be connecting with the unwashed masses on his usual psycho-detached level we're accustomed to suffering through and from.

Chart-ruler Mercury, the communicator, is applying to conjunction with wool-gatherer Neptune and its only other applying aspect is a trine to Mc, the Aspiration Point of the chart. There will be, of course, a lot of magical spin to this one by media types and others who bought stock in the neocon war portfolio.

The Mc's degree 17Gem07 you may remember from the Sea Island GA G-8 Summit of June 8, 2004...it's the Venus Occultation degree: "18Gem": "Two Chinese men speaking in Chinese in a Western crowd."

Venus occulting the Sun is an indicator of the formation of unusal alliances--previously unheard of associations...and I'm sure we've not heard the truth of them yet.

Consulting Bil Tierney's Dynamics of Aspect Analysis we see Uranus as focalized Apex planet in a Mutable T-square using Mc as part of the formation--and since Mc = Public Status/Career, I think it's safe to consider it. First the midpoint picture:

Jup/Mc = Uranus: optimism; ability to utilize the right moment (including a tv cue!); a fortunate adjustment to changing circumstances.

Apex Uranus = the impractical and blunt communicator. Mutable Apex Uranus relates to spreading oneself too thin (as he's done with the US military and to our tax coffers), and if mismanaged, indicates the social misfit who is willfully out-of-tune with society (ya think?)

This person is a law-unto-himself--a radical thinker who defies the traditions of society with his idiosyncracies. He may unpredictably overthrow his previously-held ideals with no real explanation as he acts as social catalyst for collective reforms.

Mutable energy being unstable and changeable, Uranus, the rebel/revolutionary/reformer will be evident, if not during the address, then it will surely be on people's minds if not on their lips.

Bush will be expressing his communal sense Tuesday night with his usual engaging manner (he hopes) but his mojo, as we know, is seriously damaged.

And as I've posted previously, I don't wish for his end to be a trainwreck--mainly because he takes America--and the world--down with him as he goes.

Guess I'll watch him squirm and dissemble once again while his sec Moon is conjuncted by tr Pluto...

A false EU (Lithuanian or Slovak) passport was used to fly into London and he had a spare EU passport to fly back out.

And who hired him? Why, the Kremlin, so they say...and several witnessess in the Yukos trial are under threat as well bwo Mercury poisoning.

Ogun Sama, caught on tape as the shooter of Turkish-Armenian newspaper editor, Hrant Dink on Friday, has been apprehended in the Black Sea city of Samsun. His father and ten other people have been detained for questioning in the Black Sea city of Trabzon.

Congress' Saturn Return

Just a Shout-Out on my recent post concerning the ongoing Saturn Return of Congress which now has been updated from Jan 17.

One quick addititon: the Sabian Symbol for the Return Moon "21Sco" may be instructive:

"A soldier derelict in his duty."

Well of course, one first thinks of George Bush's past AWOL status, but I believe it refers to the current stand-off on Bush's war escalation, don't you? Not that our troops are derelict--the valiant majority of them have been anything but--so it may refer to withdrawal--which is underscored by the US Mars (military) now Rx since July '06.

And the Saturn-Neptune T-square pointing to this Moon may describe the grievous and untenable situation our troops have been placed in by Bush, Cheney, Rumsfled, Perle, and the rest of the warhawks.

How about revamping instead such things as exorbitant war spending to benefit warmongering profiteers, kickbacks, graft, and governmental greed and incompetence?

Hasn't George Bush "weakened" the country and the economy enough for ya?

What other undermining activities do the lot of you have in store for America and the world?

Is the World Banking System the devil incarnate? How do you tout for liars and cheats as you do? Can you count? Are you accountable unlike your shadowy bosses?

As I've paid 100% of my FICA taxes through these several years, I'd like to know what you miscreants in Washington did with my money and the interest acrued.

Congress' ongoing Saturn Return

Congress' Saturn Return Rx #2 of 3, Jan 13, 2006 with #1 having occurred Oct 28, 2006, and #3 upcoming July 13, 2007.

Here's the article from Wednesday on the Senate's theatrical snit which now postpones their doing anything about ethics and lobbying reform...9 votes short...big surprise, isn't it?

Partisan Dispute Derails Ethics Reform because the Judd Gregg (R-NH) amendment would've given the President (if we had one) the chance to stick his nose into the legislation and pull out a plum.

Dave Letterman just debuted a new segment: "George W. Bush: Inappropriate Smiles" with a bit from his interview with Jim Lehrer--and there's Bush smiling like a psychopath about Iraq's recent "botched" executions and Iraqi comments against his handling of the war....and on that happy note it's time to get my fuzzy slippers and my sleeping cap on...back when circumstances allow...stay snug, all!

2.19.07 Friday UPDATE: As you know, the Saturn Return is a time of confronting past failures and learning what you can from them. When dutious Saturn returns to his spot in a chart there is a serious attempt made to change or terminate current relationships, plans, and situations that do not allow for future growth or for envisioned plans.

Whatever is satisfactory is affirmed and the rest should be jettisoned. The November Elections took care of much of this responsibility, didn't it?

Now in the Rx phase of the Return (until the next conj July 13 which is also the date of Congress' Mars Return, a new 2-year cycle of activity) they are on track to review, reconsider, and 'return' to their traditions--also a Saturnian keyword. Congress is at least giving lip service to the idea of their own Oversight Function originally envisioned for them.

Here's a recent excerpt from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's blog with Saturnian keywords italicized:

Bettering the nation we love in ways both big and small are (is) becoming reality. Democrats promised a New Direction for America, and in these first 100 hours we are all discovering that turning (Rx) our promises into reality is much more than an obligation, it is our duty. Thanks to all of you for helping to make it happen.

Commitment reaffirmation is part of a Saturn Return also and the current Rx phase is working well for that--we hope it isn't all rhetoric for the Democrat's stated long-range goals.

With Saturn in 12th house of Behind-the-Scenes much has been done in private with Saturn and the Capricorn Sun in mutual reception--aiding one another--the clunker is the Scorpio Moon near Ic--the Foundation of the chart--and being squared by Saturn. Squares are blockages and obstacles and a Scorpio Moon indicates changes--also a function of Saturn which more usually changes by way of loss.

Still we must appreciate the sky-high pile of messes the 110th needs to clear up so naturally it won't be easy. Scorpio can be a sign of betrayals so I want to keep a squinty eye on this chart until July when the new and final Saturn Return chart becomes active and the Moon will be in Cancer and just past conj with the US (and Geo Bush's) natal Sun.

It goes without saying that deals have been made behind the door (12th house)--haven't they always been? My concern is that the glowing promises we've been hearing will entail more blockages to the American people (Moon) than we know of currently and will be disillusioning when the other shoe drops, for drop it will.

With the forming Saturn-Neptune opposition, a T-square is patterned and pointing to the Moon...

Sat-Nep = Moon: emotional drain; feeling inhibited; a low character.

Ebertin gives the Saturn-Neptune combination as suffering, renunciation, ascetism. The Nov Elections renounced many culprits on Capitol Hill, but that was described by the 1st return of Saturn, Oct 28, '06. That this difficult T-square is in the current chart gives some cause for concern which I hope the 100th Congress will handle responsibly as they say they will.

This is a Fixed T-square so things are entrenched and rigid--yet an apex Moon in T-square suggests emotional stability on the positive side. But there's a 'stuck in the past' quality to it, and there may be an emotion-venting explosion that interfers with security, a concern of the Moon and of the Ic. (Perhaps Speaker Pelosi has already expressed that for us!)

The Capitol Hill Theater is under notice and the box office receipts are in danger of being blocked by opponents who care more for their political careers than for anything you or I have need of (Moon at Ic.)

And it remains to be seen whether the passage of the lobbying reform bill by the Senate

will make any real difference to their pocket-lining, influence-peddling pasttimes.

Even the proposed 5-day work week is Saturnian! So taxpayers may get more work for their money--and hopefully we'll like the work that we get.

Today the Dems on Capitol Hill have been reversing roles with the Rs on college tuition relief--proposing bills that Rs don't like but can't help voting for--touche, Pelosi, touche!

Then there's the Doomsday Clock being moved ahead as announced today from the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists--Stephen Hawking and the Gang--the descendants of the same Manhattan Project scientists who brought the world the atom split and da bomb in the first place.

On Snake Island

East of the mouth of the Danube, Snake Island lies in the Black Sea, coordinates: 45N15:18, 30E12:15.

The nearest Romanian city is Sulina, the nearest Ukrainian city: Vilkovo.

Snake island has appr 100 inhabitants who are mostly frontier guard servicemen, their families, and tech personnel.

In 2003 a permanent scientific expedition from Odessa University was established so there's a helicopter platform, a pier built in 2002, and harbour construction is under way. The helicopter platform makes for quick get-aways and refuge-taking, doncha know (see previous post on Stymphalian birds, Hercules, and the raid at Arbil by US forces.)

Sounds like a rockin' place with a 150-year-old lighthouse, electric power, post office, satellite tv, phone service and cell phone tower, internet linkage, and a branch of Aval, a Ukrainian bank.

The lighthouse was built in 1843 by the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Empire and the Greeks called it 'White Island' because of its marble formations. You'll find several submerged ruins of Thracian temples dedicated to APOLLO who was god of the sun, as his sister, Diana, was goddess of the moon.

Apollo was aka god of music and poetry, archery, and prophecy, and was son of Jupiter and Latona.

Snake Island is also thought anciently to be the resting place of Achilles of heel fame--son of Thetis, at whose marriage the apple of Discord was thrown among the goddesses. Seems to be an apple that keeps on giving, doesn't it?

On Feb 27, 1961, Soviet possession of Snake Island was signed in Bucharest, and there is now a dispute concerning the Island before the International Court of Justice...seems Royal/Dutch Shell signed prospective contracts with the Ukraine while Total (a company I'm unfamiliar with) signed with Romania.

Sounds like a discordant tussle over Snake Island and wouldn't you know? Oil rights are involved.

Fidel Castro

The Spanish newspaper El Pais is reporting that Castro is in 'grave condition' due to 3 failed surgeries, an infection in the large intestine, and various other complications.

Since he temporarily ceded power to his brother Raul last July, I've been tempted to post his natal chart here with remarks but since it's rated only DD ('dirty data') in AstroDataBank I've held myself back.

But with Cuban officials still denying the seriousness of Castro's condition, I must point out that with natal Sun 20Leo, and natal Neptune 25Leo--and with tr Saturn's ongoing visitation to this area of his chart (correct birth time notwithstanding) the man is under much stress physically, and given his advanced age (Aug 13, 1926; Colonia Biran, Cuba), his propects for recovery are slim and slimming.

Raul to the Rescue:

In July '06, Mars was in Leo and triggering Fidel's Sun/Neptune. Mars may bring along inflammation and fever to the affected planets/energies of the chart, and the Mars/Neptune combo = infection.

Mars to n Neptune dissipates energy and undermines health, plus drugs are a particular danger as well. Mars to Sun is a hot combo bringing a surge of vitality which may lead to injury--esp to the head or face--through overstraining.

Comet McNaught and the Eagle

When astronomer Robert McNaught of Australia first spotted the Comet which now bears his name on August 7, 2006, the comet was in the constellation HERCULES and approaching constellation SCUTUM, just off the tail of AQUILA, the Eagle.

My esteemd colleague, Twilight, has asked about the correlation between Comet McNaught and the storms in midwestern US now spread from Texas to the northeast...in a word, yes. AQUILA the Eagle is also called the storm bird and rises in winter bringing along icy storms.

The Comet is now fading from view in the Northern Hemisphere since it has rounded the Sun, but photos are expected from SOHO...keep your eye peeled at SOHO's website if you wish.

SCUTUM, the shield , commemorates King of Poland John Sobieski's victory against the Turks in 1683. But it really gets interesting when you consider AQUILA and HERCULES, the Kneeler...one of the oldest constellations...with the tip of his left foot near the head of the celestial Dragon.

All this relates to the mythological Twelve Labors of Hercules and to AQUILA as part of the 3 birds and an arrow group, one of which is Cynus, the Swan--a very hostile and aggressive bird.

AQUILA (Latin: eagle, or vulture) has an alpha star, Altair, keywords: boldness and determination. AQUILA relates to the Stymphalian Birds--Hercules' Labor 6.

Plus, there was a vicious bird from the Arabian desert, the Stymphalian, which was known to be equal to lions or leopards in fierceness. Perhaps they're still hanging about...in Iraq, eh?

As you know, the Stymphalian Birds were known to be man-eaters, and Hercules was given the Labor of driving away an enormous flock of them from a lake deep in the woods near the town of Stymphalos. The goddess Athena appeared and gave Hercules a pair of bronze krotala, or castenets, to create a huge ruckus so that Hercules could shoot them with his arrows (or some say, a slingshot) as they flew away. Good deal.

These krotala were made by the immortal craftsman, Hephaistos, in his forge (the Pentagon?)

By now you know I'm thinking of the recent US raid of Arbil and the 5 Iranian "diplomats" who were arrested--or as they say, kidnapped. And the US symbol of the Eagle is obvious.

Now when Athena appeared to Hercules, she told him the birds were hiding in the trees around the lake because they were afraid of him. Well, they should've been.

But here's where it gets sticky--a few escaped (history repeats?!?) and sought refuge on the isle of ARES (god of war, of course) in the Black Sea.

I spent much of the past weekend nosing into the Black Sea region with its resorts, spas, and islands, and some interesting possibilities have surfaced.

Time is short so I'll list a few of them:

Snake Island, Cholchis, Istanbul, Costanta, and any of the resort towns around the basin we call the Black Sea...Romania and Bulgaria, the Ukraine, and Georgia...the Black Sea is connected to the Mediterraean Sea bwo the Turkish Straits system (TSS) in the southwest--which includes the Bosporus and Dardanelles straits and the Sea of Marmara.

The Black Sea is connected also to the Sea of Azov in the northeast bwo the Kerch straits.

But Colchis is where the sacred grove of Ares was located...where Areetes hung the Golden Fleece on a tree bough until Jason and the Argonauts scored it. Colchis was also the land where the mythological Prometheus was punished by having his liver eaten by an EAGLE because he revealed the secret of fire to humankind.

The Amazons were said to be of SCYTHIAN origin from Colchis--and classically SCYTHIA was in southern Russia, eastern Ukraine, the north Caucasus area, including Azerbaijan, Georgia, the lower Danube region, and Bulgaria, aka Scythia Minor.

The reason I capitalize SCYTHIA here is because of the current Saturnian Scythe formed above our noggins with Saturn in Leo as the isolated handle...an isolated leader which I and others relate to George Bush.

By now you've heard or read of Bush's Weakly Radio Address Saturday in which he uttered the above meaningless as-if: as if his 'surge' plan is a good idea because there are only retreat alternatives--thanks to his own brashness and incompetence at running a war--Mr. AWOL running a war!!!

Who in the world ever thought THAT was a good idea? It defies all common sense, m'peops...did then, does now, always will.

In Latin America Hugo Chavez is planning to abolish term limits so his own presidency can extend forever and ever, so we'd better watch George--he's already had that idea after 9/11, y'know.

Well, I'm tired of grousing about it all for now so I'm happily referring you to my friend Edward H. and his succinct point-of-view Surge towards Victory...you don't have to join Gather.com to read articles, just to comment.

Observers around the world are reporting that Comet McNaught is now visible in broad daylight. The comet is very close to the sun, so it is tricky to find. If you want to try, here's how to do it: Go outside and stand in the shadow of a building so that the glare of the sun is blocked out. Make a fist and hold it at arm's length. The comet is about one fist-width east of the sun.

This weekend is a special time for Comet McNaught because it is making its closest approach to the sun. Solar heat causes the comet to vaporize furiously and brighten to daytime visibility. McNaught is now the brightest comet in more than 40 years, and it may become the brightest in centuries.

Depp to make Litvinenko film

Two books are being penned about Alexander Litvinenko, poisoned Nov 1, 2006, one of which is being purchased by Warner Bros for Johnny Depp to film and possibly star in, and the other written--I assume ghost-written--by widow Marina Litvinenko and close family friend, Alex Goldfarb. Theirs is being scooped up by Columbia Pictures.

The Depp/Warner Bros book is by Alan Cowell (no relation) of the NYT.

My question is, who'll play raspy Putin?

I just wish they'd nail the inhuman rascals who would do that to a human being, don't you?

Sheesh! Never thought Johnny Depp would show up in this blog!

The Bank of England is playing the wolf-at-the-door role in Scotland with a surprise interest rate increase-the 3rd in 6 months--due to the Bank's (supposed) nervousness at homeowners falling behind in payments.

Is this counter-intuitive? Raising rates will increase home repossessions...oh wait...I get it...that's what they want. The wolf is not only at the door, he's having a cuppa by the fireside and twirling his greedy moustache...as per his plan all along. Homeless suckers.

When George Bush completed his surge speech last evening at 9:22 pm est, tr Jupiter 10Sag13 had just crossed the IC, the Foundation or Base of the chart...aka the HOW Point...aka The Drain.

Bush was put into the role of US President and remains there because he pleases those who put him there. The escalation of war in the Middle East (against Iran primarily) is what the red herring of 'surging Iraq' was invented for so their plans for domination of the entire region may continue.

The last time Bush left the US, I suggested that someone change the locks on all the White House doors but my suggestion wasn't taken--and now look.

Some people are raking it in, some are dying. The ones who are raking it in are sending more people to die or be maimed. Bush stirred up what has always been a hornet's nest, now he's pretending he can calm things down with more bloodshed and a 'stronger-armed' occupation. Even the number of US troops isn't honestly given....there are many more troops there than Bush admits.

Capitol Hill wimps out once again and the American people's wishes don't count...who will stand against a madman? A Hill full of madmen and madwomen?

We used to say the emperor has no clothes but still he was allowed to go on. Do we have the will to act in our own self-interest? Will the railroading ever cease?

Maiming America has been the point and at that Bush, poppy Bush, and their fellow intitiates have succeeded...admirably.

America...Down the Drain with George Bush...but the prosthetic devices are state-of-the-art.

At 11:13 pm est George Bush will enjoy his natal Moon Return 16Lib42, aka the Lunar Return. These monthly charts reflect daily goings-on and changes, and applicably the surge speech occurs during a Moon Hour--he has promised changes in the direction of America (and has already provided them--all downward) so the 'ch-ch-changes" theme will obviously be prominent, as will "the future."

Mars-ruled "danger" will of course be well-represented as he bats us over the noggin with the usual purposefully half-baked rhetoric of foggy concepts to disguise the real deal.

In the speech chart, Jupiter is conj Fixed star, Antares, associated with war and with being obsessed with success. There can be great success with Antares, but also a tendency to lose what's been gained by intensity and "going to extremes."

Sounds like our 'man' doesn't it?

Antares may cause self-undoing through obsession and its connection to Jupiter brings the obvious specter of over-extension monetarily which this "surge" will make worse--with the US so deep in the financial hole, who's financing Bush' war anyway? Bush is in aggravation-mode these days as well...he doesn't appreciate obstacles in the way of his poppy's NWO plans, y'know..and there's tr Mars nearing Pluto at the base of the speech chart. Mars/Pluto = force; brutality; war.

Of late, tr Mars/Saturn midpoint has been hanging about Bush's natal Ic, too...along with Saturn/Pluto (who were operative on 9/11/01.) The Ic is the HOW Point of any chart, as you know...

Comet McNaught has continued to brighten as it approaches the sun and it is now the brightest comet in 30 years. For observers in the northern Hemisphere, tonight is probably the best time to see it: Go outside this evening and face the sunset. A clear view of the western horizon is essential, because the comet hangs very low. As the twilight fades to black, it should become visible to the naked eye. Observers say it's a fantastic sight through binoculars.

In the days ahead, Comet McNaught will pass the sun and emerge in good position for southern hemisphere viewing later this month. My thoughts are with the people of Austin TX and NYC today ever since I heard that Bird Deaths Shut Downtown Austin and that a mysterious gas odor was wafting over Manhattan and New Jersey.

Therefore, I've been studying charts for both cities along with--you guessed it--the charts for Homeland Security ("HoSec" Nov 25, 2002 1:44 pm est) and for the New World Order ("NWO" Oct 24, 1993--the Great Uranus/Neptune conjunction.)

Are there correspondances? You betcha!

My typing finger will fall off if I try to type it all in, but some interesting factors stand out:

In the sunrise charts for Austin and Manhattan today, the NWO degree "18Cap" is rising...Sun = NWO (Ura conj Nep)..."18Cap": "The Union Jack flies from a British destroyer" = SUPERVISION...

pos: the self's ever-widening spread of interest in its insatiable desire to leave some permanent imprint of itself on everything it touches;

neg/shadow side: smug or strong-armed paternalism.

Yuh-huh.

Then let's look at the oppressive plutocratic Pluto/Chiron combo's New Moon phase (conjunction) of Dec 30, 1999 at "11Sag+"...and they paralleled one another in mid-August 2004, y'know.

Today's Austin chart has Sun/Mc ('the Goal') 11Sag41, plus...HoSec's natal Pluto/Chiron midpont 27Sag04 is now being triggered by tr Pluto--today at 27Sag18 with HoSec's natal Mc ('the Goal') being 28Sag37. This is conj Fixed Star Acumen, keywords: "enduring attacks which weaken", and as synchronicity would have it, the birth of HoSec has tr asteroid, Morya 28Sag00...at MC ('the Goal.')

(Perhaps you've read my previous post on Cheney's 2001 sec progr'd chart, the Pluto/Chiron duo, and the morning of 9/11.)

You can see that the hatching of HoSec never filled me with confidence, can't you?

Gaseous Birds of 2007:

"This all" began yesterday--Sunday--with the derailing of a subway car in Washington DC (3:45 pm est)...Moon 7Vir20 conjunct Ic (endings; partings) at 9Vir42--conj Bush's natal Mars, the instigator and activist. Tr Moon is conj Fixed Star Facies, "ruthlessness or the victim."

Facies (fah sheez) has a kind of a do-unto-others-but-do-it-first flavor and these mysterious happenings will put Bush's troubles off front pages for a day or two (although I've not had time to see just how much space they're being given online as of yet.)

And where is gaseous, poisonous Neptune in all this?

At 18AQ22 of late--opposite and triggering the Mother of All Eclipses 18Leo+, the degree of vengeful Venus on the morning of 9/11/01.

This is the Eclipse predicted by Nostradamus many moons ago as being the "King of Terror" Eclipse and it seems to me the good doctor's predictive abilities are not in question esp when you consider what we've experienced in the New Millenium Which Su*ks So Far.

HoSec's natal Neptune 8AQ334 triggered today by tr Chiron 8AQ21; HoSec's n Moon 9Leo45, conj Bush and GOP's n Mercury (I'm just sayin'.)

We know where NWO's n Neptune is--conj Uranus "18Cap."

An interesting connection between HoSec and NWO:

NWO's n NN 3Sag33 (associations; joinings; meetings; encounters; the path of destiny) is conj HoSec's n Sun 3Sag19. Natal Mercury in the HoSec chart 9Sag51 is being conjoined by tr Jupiter 9Sag43 this very day...Merc/Jup = expansion of ideas and plans (can I get another Yuh-huh?)

So is America under attack from without or within? Both, as you know...

Tr Mars 23Sag55 is approaching Plu/Chiron midpoint and Mc of HoSec...very sensitive area of late with Pluto's hanging about it off and on due to Rx.

Power and power-behind-the-throne issues along with death concerns may be prominent at these times, and a transformation--also a province of Pluto--may be seen concerning the HoSec organization itself...dissemination is the phase of HoSec natally--puttin' out those ideas and plans to the people...n Moon trine Mercury.

Comet McNaught update

BRIGHTENING COMET: Comet McNaught is plunging toward the sun and brightening dramatically. It is now visible to the unaided eye both at sunset and at dawn. Amateur photographers have found that they can take pictures of the comet using off-the-shelf digital cameras with exposure times less than a second. Estimated visual magnitude: between 0 and -1.

To see Comet McNaught, a clear view of the horizon is essential. In the morning, go outside and face east. The comet emerges just ahead of the rising sun. In the evening, face the other way--west. The comet pops out of the western twilight as soon as the sun sets. Binoculars reveal a pretty, gaseous tail.

Northern observers are favored. The long, dark mornings and evenings of Canada, Scandinavia and Alaska are ideal for viewing this comet so close to the Sun. But the comet has been sighted in other places, too, as far south as Kansas in the United States and Italy in Europe.

DENVER FIREBALL: A spectacular fireball streaked over Denver, Colorado, this morning. Observers described it as "brilliant, slow, twinkling, sparkly and full of rainbow colors." Contrary to some reports, it was not a Quadrantid meteor. It was the decaying body of a Russian rocket that launched the French COROT space telescope on Dec. 27th.

HOT COMET: Comet McNaught (C/2006 P1) is plunging toward the Sun. It won't hit, but at closest approach on Jan. 13th it will be much closer to the Sun than the planet Mercury. The comet will experience fierce heating and it could brighten considerably, emerging from the encounter brighter than a 1st magnitude star.

For the next few mornings, northerners can see Comet McNaught before it disappears into the Sun's glare. It's an easy target for binoculars hanging low in the eastern sky at sunrise. After Jan. 11th, only SOHO (the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory) will be able to track the comet as it angles toward the bright Sun. SOHO images are posted in near-real time on the Internet, so you can watch the comet-sun encounter and see what happens.

The word is, Opportunity, and as we know, the Dems now whooshed into office have great opportunity upon their doorstep, and the American people have one also--if it's respected and not monkeyed with by the pocket-liners-in-charge--and their enablers with the greased palms.

110th Congress swears, Bush reads diaries

W pushes envelope on U.S. spying from DailyNews.com informs us that Bush signed new postal regulations on Dec 20--with Sun conjunct Pluto, natch--that gives him the "emergency" right to open and read any US envelope whether it holds fake anthrax spores or a Dear John letter.

That's why I'm hiding my diary asap in a very dark hidey-hole and suggest you do same. Oh--and a 'signing statement' was added as is his Orwellian custom.

12:00 pm est, Capitol Building today, the 110th is sworn in with 19Aries41...the Exaltation of the Sun degree--rising, and indications of change are sprinkled about the chart, the day, and thus the session.

Mercury, indicator of change is conj Mc and is focal point of Sun/Mc (the goal)) = Mercury: thinking about one's position in life. Mercury's changes in communications and in thinking are the goal and having Mercury in stable, serious Capricorn may help them keep noses to the grindstone (5-day work week reinstated!) in spite of all the sniping and undermining on tap from their opponents--from either party (2008 draws near.)

Sun in Capricorn, sign of law, authority, politics, and business is conj Mercury in 10th house--too close for comfort actually and may snuff out Mercury's plans.

There's an "attacks which weaken" flavor here too with Acumen rising with this Mc 10Cap57, so the hoped-for change of atmosphere in Washington may be short-lived at best and Bush's egocentric need to keep centerstage will be interfering as they go along...unless someone or something shuts his spigot off.

House and Senate do have an awfully big helping of pork'n'crow on their plate, don't they? How to out Bush'n'crew without exposing their own hindquarters...a balancing act if they ever was one.

With moneybags Jupiter, the GOP's significator, in 8th house of Other People's Money, taxes, debt, insurance, credit, legacies, etc...supplying Bush the trillions for his war will be on the menu as it should be. He's bled our coffers dry.

And where the Moon? The people, the public, the populace? In 4th house of Domestic Scene on the Security axis (opposite Sun and Mercury--there was a Full Moon yesterday.)

After all, prideful lion Bush is accustomed to roaring his deep displeasure when things aren't goin' his way.

And yet--this Moon is reflecting George Bush's natal Saturn--Mr.Bush being held accountable and responsible for his past actions by the American people.

Let's hope the Dem's control of Congress represents us as it has promised to do.

Bush and the dead-of-night

By now you've heard Bush's oinks from the Rose Garden and read his op-ed about how he and Congress will be working together in peace and harmony from Jan 4 onward.

Sen Charles Schumer added his squeal that, "We hope when the president says compromise, it means more than 'do it my way', which is what he meant in the past."

Well, Senator, considering that the November elections' message the People sent to Bush about his botched war has been royally misinterpreted by Duhbya, I doubt he means anything of the sort.

The Republican Congress' dead-of-night earmarks are on Bush's agenda NOW that the Dems have control of Congress and his usual hypocrisy is glaringly in evidence...gooey-fat earmarks dripping with gravy didn't bother him nearly so much when his team was batting, did they?

He says he's anxious to work with the new Congress--I say he's anxious ABOUT working with the new Congress who may uncover all manner of improprieties the public has yet to be told. Today's shout-outs from the Oval Office were hopeful damage control by the eternal optimist.

So when he says it's "time to set aside politics (when Rs do it it's okay, when Ds do it, it's 'politics') and "focus on the future" (2 more years--PLEASE--we've got more crap to perpetrate) he isn't factoring in how totally fatigued the entire country is with his propaganda, his enabling of the "GOP" spending in the dead-of-night (let us not forget who perfected the practice), his deceit, his war, and his ugly snoot and fake accent.

Plus, he dances like a frat boy who thinks he can dance--but only when he's high on substances.

Well, I'm feelin' grousy today...I had to wake up to more of Bush's get-ahead-of-the-debate tactics from the Rose Garden and now he "writes" too? Sheesh.

2007 and the pick-up truck

Someone had a camera phone trained on Saddam Hussein's face as he swung from the gallows and the video may be found online. Don't want to see it myself for it's not the vision I want before me as 2007 begins.

The Scotsman's Saddam's last journey, on a pick-up truck tells of the new video, his execution and burial in the middle of the night (hmmm-m-m-m!), and how even in death, Saddam believed in the keep on truckin' mantra of the 60s.

Meanwhile back in the USA, Bush continues to glob himself onto Gerald Ford's character coat tails as a measured and decent man as if he's describing himself in the process of lauding Ford. The noive! He may want to watch those comparisons which are actually contrasts. Saying it a bunch doesn't make it so, George. Seems you'd know that by now.

SO'W is wishing Happy New Year to All--and may the common good and the common man be remembered and acted upon in a measured and decent way on Capitol Hill in 2007.
