Trump & Paul Ryan Team Up To Make Healthcare Bill Even Worse

Update March 23, 2017: as you've heard before now, Mr. Trump's health care bill vote has been postponed by congressional Republicans due to lack of support (not enough votes from their own party since allegedly no Democrat will vote for its draconianess and they need 215 votes to pass it). You may find that these actions and non-actions on Capitol Hill this week are at least partially described by the Mars-Neptune addition below The Young Turks' video report.

Another factor specific to Mr. Trump is Saturn's ongoing transit to his natal Moon (publicity) and South Node (a karmic Saturnian point of separation and/or of falling back on what worked in the past but no longer does = neurosis), a transit which restricts, denies, or delays his need fulfillment (Moon), lowers his popularity or approval ratings (Moon = the public), and may cause temper tantrums. Simultaneously (and because he was born under a Full Moon), Saturn opposes Trump's natal Sun and North Node which accounts for recent photos of a glum Mr. Trump with what is likely to be a bruised ego. Health and vitality may also be affected with transit Saturn opposing natal Sun and conjunct natal Moon--perhaps just a cold in his dose or a slight headache?

Mars in Pisces Not at His Best Then Along Comes Neptune

As you know, now sitting is the 115th US Congress which convened January 3, 2017 with testosterone-driven Mars @11Pisces where confused, confusing Neptune has floated of late suggesting much of the troubles Republicans in Congress are now having with their shaky (some would say, disappointing) attempts to repeal and replace one of their favorite political boogeymen, 'Obamacare' (the ACA). For when transit Neptune spreads all over action-oriented Mars we have a period when deception and delusion undermine physical efforts to the point where some refuse to make any effort (or cast a Yes vote) at all!

Other potentials of Neptune to Mars include impractical, unrealistic schemes that over-promise great and/or quick results (as Trump and the GOP did), and though intuition may run high, other planetary factors must provide stability and cooperation in the activities of the 115th Congress. The GOP health care 'plan' is sub-par legislation on many levels and if we use the Mars-Neptune influence as a clue we find that a potential for "rioting over nationalized health care" could be in our future.

A Closer View of Inauguration 2017's Unaspected Sun (POTUS)

Previously I posted Inauguration 2017 Midpoint Pictures and its Sun-Moon blend but without noting the midpoint pictures' more specific political implications. Today I want to correct that omission and since I'm often criticized for using a common-good astrological lens through which to view politics, politicians, and their corrupt practices, I shall quote directly from two highly esteemed astrologers and hope that they won't mind (their books on Amazon are linked and recommended, below). Therefore, all doubters may be assured I'm not making this up and may draw their own conclusions as to the condition of the US presidency on Inauguration Day 2017 and the 4-year term of Mr. Trump.

2017 Inaugural Sun: POTUS and the Ego Thereof

There are two prominent astrological factors that describe the presidential Sun (00AQ49) on January 20, 2017 noon est Capitol Building Washington DC: a midpoint picture with the presidential Sun at apex and the fact that the Sun is unaspected - having no angular relationship (aspect) to the rest of the planets (actors). In effect, here is a Sun (POTUS) standing alone and emphasizing the pinnacle of success (10th house) in the sign of detachment (Aquarius).

The midpoint picture is: Sun = Moon-Uranus. Michael Munkasey's interpretation (and yes, I know he doesn't like to be quoted but this is important for the American people!) in the form of the Hegelian Dialectic. As always, any, all, or none of the following potentials may apply and may be activated by future transits and progressions. See if any of this describes someone you know:

Thesis: An enterprise with great insight into the needs of its people, yet one which has a very unusual way for showing care and appreciation toward its population; unconventional rulers with emotional flair.

Antithesis: Leaders who rule at whim, with little sense of how their enterprise is seen by the rest of the world; an emotionally immature person placed in an important and visible leadership role.

Well, yes.

Next let's consider 2017's unaspected Sun which is not usually the state of inaugural Suns in US Inaugurations past. Now I don't have all inaugural charts in my files at the moment, but of the several inaugural horoscopes I do have (including Lincoln, Garfield, Hoover, Nixon 1969, JFK, FDR, Clinton, etc) only FDR's 1937 Inauguration shows Sun (POTUS) alone in the 10th house as in 2017 - but 1937's Sun squares Uranus in Taurus and is opposed by Pluto Rx in Cancer so it is not unaspected but modified by the intense, deeper energies of transpersonal Uranus and Pluto.

When there's an unaspected planet in a chart there tends to be a 'switched on and off' quality to it and in the case of the Sun, which signifies the president in the mundane horoscope of Inauguration Day 2017, the "direction of action the planet takes can be uncertain, spasmodic, and irregular" and its expression is "much harder to control". (The Sun is referred to as a planet in Astrology--jc.) An "unaspected planet's strength is very difficult to ascertain." It can "take on the nature of a singleton in that it can become a conspicuous focus of attention" and has an "unpredictable nature" (as we already know about the changeable, some say unstable, Mr. Trump--jc). It may "undergo periods of spurt-like activity for no apparent reason" (which mimics the sort of action quirky planet Uranus inspires, plus, there's his avoid-the-press use of Twitter technology, the realm of Uranus--jc).

Even so, an unaspected Sun (ego-centrism; essence; purpose) will directly affect the US presidency and thus, the American people with its "island unto itself" quality and the Sun's "autonomous, self-governing nature can be even more emphasized. This condition can accentuate an independent spirit, but not always in a wholesome, well-balanced manner." An unaspected Sun "seems less driven to exteriorize himself" (than an aspected Sun) and "he is motivated to focus on his own self-importance, holding himself in high regard" (no kidding! jc).

"Self-esteem and self-pride are important to him, whether reinforced by his environment or not. As his strength and integrity come from a subjective source, he is less dependent upon outer relationships for ego-support. He can be very rooted within his own inner core of being, regardless of how unstable or chaotic his external surroundings are. Such intense self-centeredness may make him appear unresponsive and aloof, almost as if he is totally absorbed within his own self-made world.

The inner nature does not associate itself very well with other facets of the character, determined by the other planets" though "the remaining planets still function, but without a dominant central life theme to revolve around. They neither help nor hinder the individual's main objectives. Perhaps the drives of these planets are forced to take the back seat, in which they are experienced as mere secondary needs given less attention and development. Instead, the individual may be more intent upon the exclusive development of his pure solar characteristics" (which in the case of deal maker Mr. Trump are Geminian and egoistic in nature, and as you know, chatty Geminis prefer to skim issues and though they cannot stand the idea of being wrong, settling for superficial understanding of issues can often trip them up as they jump to conclusions--jc).

The Inauguration 2017 Horoscope: Mr. Trump's First Natal Planet to Rise

In support of the above descriptions of the Trump inauguration and presidency, his first natal planet to rise in the Inauguration 2017 chart is his 10th house Uranus in Gemini, leader of a BOWL pattern comprising all the rest of his planets. The Bowl is tipped toward Midheaven, the Career and Public Status Point of the chart and signifies a 'scooping up' of experience focused primarily in the public eye and which shows extreme self-containment (as mentioned, above) and a self-seeking personality as noted by the unaspected condition of the Inaugural Sun. A BOWL indicates a mission to be fulfilled and in his case, Uranus in Gemini is related to this mission or cause. Isolationism (a typical complaint of presidents) is suggested since the planet is Uranus, and Mr. Trump has disdained the White House as a residence and prefers to spend half his time as president in his gilded ivory tower in New York (from which many tweets will come).

Now let's close with the Sabian Symbol of Mr. Trump's natal Uranus (17Gem53), rebellious planet of reforms, disruption, and chaos since we'll all be dealing with its quirky implications and, in fact, we already are:

Note: since I've never listened to Michael Savage I was slightly surprised to find that he has a book titled Scorched Earth, a phrase that has turned up several times in the public discourse this week. Republicans used 'scorched earth' tactics against Barack Obama and perhaps you recall that we discussed 'scorched earth' in relation to goddess star Sirius in my November 5th post on the new 115th Congress convening soon on a Capitol Hill near you.

Now what if the Democratic Party got together in January 2017 and determined that they would block and undermine every single thing a President Trump and his Republicans planned to do? Revenge may be 'sweet' according to some folk but, as with President Obama's presidency, it would be the American people on the losing end once again. But I guess such a result is merely part of their 'shrink the US government' plan.

Big Picture in Focus: a New President, the 115th Congress, and Jupiter Leading the Throng

Nov 5, 2017: If like me you've been clinging to hope that Election Day 2016 will soon end without causing major mayhem to our nation, perhaps you've had a moment to notice that Wikipedia has the low down on the 115th Congress which extends from January 3, 2017 to January 3, 2019. Electoral votes from Presidential Election 2016 are scheduled to be counted in Joint Session on January 6, 2017 which will hopefully settle the matter. VP Joe Biden acts as Senate President at least until January 20, 2017 at 12:00 pm est when a new White House occupant takes the Oath of Office.

Now since we're about to end 2016 and enter 'Happy New Year!' 2017 with a spiffy new Congress, perhaps you remember the 114th Congress and its cosmically auspicious beginning when an ongoing transit of Pluto opposed America's natal Sun (the president and the leadership of the country), a time of challenges, power struggles, contests of wills, and no-compromise attitudes. All this while Pluto and the January 2015 Sun in Capricorn hooked up and created potentials for displays of aggression, domination, self-interest, and ego-based demands.

And even though it's doubtful that President Obama's Republican opponents needed the synchronicity of a double Sun-Pluto condition (power cravers all!) to continue their sabotage of his presidency (and America with it), that's definitely the theme under which they labored while We the People marveled at how brazenly in-breach of the public contract so many of them were.

And of course, 14 Cancer is the position of the brightest star in the sky, Sirius, the Dog Star, aka, The Scorcher. Maybe you agree that Pluto's presence in mid-Capricorn (sign of government, law, business, and authority) has deepened and intensified events of 2015 and 2016 (ex: the insulting Campaign of 2016) so perhaps we should see if anything stellar is occurring over Capitol Hill on January 6, 2017 which will imprint upon political and societal matters during the upcoming congressional sessions and the first two years of a new president's term in office.

January 6, 2017: Well, obviously the Sun is in Capricorn so Pluto's manipulative influence continues but not as intensely (at 9:00 am est, Sun 16Cap26 and Pluto 17Cap08--both in the 12th house of Politics and Karma--chart set for the Capitol Building). The 'new world order' (global government) pair of planets, Uranus and Neptune, are near by Sun and Pluto by degree and in spirit since their 1993 conjunction/s occurred on or about 18 Capricorn, the POLITICAL POWER degree of 'smug or strong-armed paternalism' (Jones) which sounds more Trumpian than Clintonian, doesn't it? Unless you think Hillary is a manly woman, that is! ("You're a puppet, no you're a puppet!" - Stephen Colbert on Hillary's and Donald's debate).

Additionally, the overstayed-its-welcome Uranus-Pluto square is involved in something of a Thor's Hammer pattern if you don't mind counting the North Node (public contact; future direction) so we may as well consider the midpoint picture the trio forms: Uranus-Pluto = NN: accomplishing immense tasks through teamwork; sharing upsets or excitement with others (Ebertin). Along with this there's Sun and Pluto at apex of a T-Square between the Jupiter-Uranus opposition (which can become despotic) so we have a powerful amount of far-sightedness and a strong awareness of objectives involved as 2017 gets underway. Jupiter and Uranus also make up the rim of a BOWL shape with Jupiter leading all the other planets--probably alternating his roles as politician, banker, fund-raiser, professor, The General, the priest, the CEO, the actor, the promoter, and other societal roles he likes to play when it suits.

As for We the People, we'll be more than a little riled up with Moon in Mars-ruled Aries separating from rebellious Uranus, 5S42) in the 2nd house of Earning Ability, Possessions, and the National Treasury. Radical reformer Uranus opposes the 8th (corporate) house where Jupiter leads the merry cosmic throng in the cause-advocating BOWL pattern.

Now as you suspect, there are more chart factors of interest but I'm only listing the ones that pop out at me on first glance. We see from this chart and the events it times, that America is not out of her destructive Sun-Pluto phase of forced conquest, and the world remains in the grip of illuminating Uranus-Neptune and Uranus-Pluto with wealth-hoarding saboteur Pluto at apex of 1993's prominent conjunction degree which imprints 2017 and beyond as the 'Big Picture' demands a certain course of action which must be followed, very little option to do otherwise era (Tyl). Add to that the fact that when the revolutionary energies of Uranus and Pluto clash, we have: collapse of the old order, construction of the new (Ebertin) which for me echoes the far-sightedness and strong awareness of objectives mentioned, above, of a long-range plan for order out of (purposefully created) chaos.

The 2017 Eclipses begin in February and we'll cover those background influences later on. Meanwhile, we remain under the rays of the September 1, 2016 Solar Eclipse until February 2017 but paradoxically there is transit Neptune (10 Pisces) opposing the eclipse's realism and tackling the truth themes via confusion, illusion, fraud, lies, and deception which muddles things up for some, while others see things more clearly than ever before as Neptune's mirror reflects the degree area of 9 to 10 Virgo. And of course, astrological Neptune also represents the masses, mass delusion, and mass media, the largest propaganda spreader of all.

So with the Electoral Vote Count and a new Congress approaching, we may wonder about the day's Sun Cap-Moon Aries blend of energies, an Earth-Fire combo of 'scorched earth' tendencies that mimic Sirius 'The Scorcher'. This relates to more wildfires, drought, and to more political tactics in Washington by politicians and their backers who'd rather burn the place down than lose a jot of their earthly power and prestige. Actually, Sun Cap-Moon Aries is known for its tendencies toward overvaluing career success, insensitivity to the needs of others, and for an emphasis on crass materialism. Sounds like most pocket-lining politicians to me!

And so, as New Year's Day 2017 approaches, yours truly is pre-wishing Joy and Good Fortune to everyone around the world--for the shrivel-hearted rich elites can take care of themselves and are completely insensible to how very very poor they really are.
