Social Program Cuts? Republicans Can't Shoot Butter

Republicans to Slash Needed Domestic Programs to Fund More War and Conquest

by Jude Cowell

Since Mr. Trump and the Republicans have their knives out intending to gut social programs for the weak, ill, and aging among us while massive tax cuts are put in place for the wealthy class, a review of the History of Medicare and Medicaid seems timely. And as you know, in 1972 (under Nixon) an expansion of the social safety net was enacted to include coverage for the disabled, end-stage renal disease patients needing dialysis or a kidney transplant, and citizens age 65 and older.

But waging perpetual war for the sake of Empire is a very costly endeavor and it isn't as if the disabled, ill, and aging can or would enlist in the military, right? So did the GOP finally accept Trump as their 'outsider' president because they knew that an unprincipled man would agree to cut whatever programs they targeted? And that, after spouting campaign rhetoric that he would not cut the very programs now under the GOP knife! Not that I believed him, of course. Did you?

Always the Tiresome Trade-Off: Guns vs Butter

Photo: Paul Ryan: "We've Been Dreaming of Slashing Medicaid Since My Kegger Days"...a drunken dream? Now he's drunk with power.

Yes, with dreamy Neptune rising in his natal chart, Speaker Paul Ryan is quite a big dreamer. But do the current GOP austerity measures against the American people put you in mind of Republican President Eisenhower's famous Chance for Peace speech of 1953? Here's an excerpt:

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children." Theft. He said theft. To give the wealthy more tax cuts while harming little children.

Now Eisenhower's words contain way too vast a concept for a subjective man like Mr. Trump to grasp although certainly some Republican congress members have the mental and emotional capacity to understand that such theft from We the People will result in millions of Americans ill and starving on the streets and infecting everyone else. Plus, the US economy will suffer from the additional financial burden placed upon our families. (No, churches cannot do it all). But that's where lack of conscience and principles come in--when politicians plainly show that no, they are not their brother's keepers.

Now I don't mean that the US isn't worse off economically than we've been led to believe these last decades and my suspicion is that this is very much the case. 'White collar' theft abounds, as you know, and as noted, waging global war and acting as World Cop takes a whole lot of filthy lucre.

However, the austerity path of heartlessness the GOP demands for America is not the only path to take. Even if it's the global bankers' * 'big picture commands a certain course of action, little option to do otherwise' offer-they-can't-refuse situation that our compromised, bribed, and threatened 'representatives' on Capitol Hill are following because the 'otherwise' involves too much risk for their own hides to take. Apparently the extra added 'benefit' of population control (a la Ayn Rand) seems to suit the Republicans (and their enablers) just fine--as long as they and their loved ones remain unaffected. (They hope!)

Well, thanks for letting me vent. The current news on Medicaid and other financial cuts enrages me on behalf of the common good and for the sake of my native country (which I'm very partial to!) I must vehemently dissent against the Republican austerity agenda and sorry-a**ed war economy which are suggested by the cruelty and hardship potentials of year 2020.

Here's an audio excerpt (under 3 mins) of Eisenhower himself delivering his Chance for Peace speech on April 16, 1953. Now that soup lines across America will come into vogue again, it's obvious that someone didn't listen to Ike's counsel and preferred to sell out our nation to the highest bidder.

* the oh-so-rational 'new world order' planets of The Enlightenment, Uranus and Neptune, met three times in Great Conjunction all through 1993 at or near '18 Capricorn' so that a current midpoint picture has formed via transiting Pluto: the big picture commands a certain course of action, very little option to do otherwise.' (Noel Tyl, Solar Arcs). And that's no matter who must pay the price--saboteur Pluto of the Underworld doesn't care.

Truman And Eisenhower paid down US debt (video)

Here's progressive broadcaster Thom Hartmann explaining how a Democratic and a Republican president--Harry S. Truman and Dwight D. Eisenhower--handled US debt during their terms...they paid it down and grew the US economy simultaneously.

Nowadays you'd think such a practical feat involves rocket science, wouldn't you?

My favorite part is Harry Truman in 1948 calling out the Republican Party as the party of "special interests" and--that's what they'll always be!

Given what's transpiring in Washington this year ad nauseum under the tattered guise of "governing" and considering the financial consequences of their political games and over-arching agenda to 'make Obama a one-term president" (no matter who gets hurt in the process), the GOP now demonstrates just how correct Give 'Em Hell Harry was when it came to understanding the essential nature of the Republican Party.

So when Mundane Astrology tells us that the GOP is signified by rich man Jupiter, with the Democratic Party as sober Saturn (with Dems being the older of the two parties), we might remember Mr. Truman telling us like it is about the party of the Jupiter mantra which insists on dialing things in and suddenly becoming fiscally 'responsible'--but only when there's a Democrat in the White House.

Transparency in Washington!

Oh yeah, and Thom tosses in cut-taxes-on-rich, raise-taxes-on-working class cuss and a half Ronald Reagan who signed the deregulating Garn-St. Germain Act on October 15, 1982 and pronounced with Jupiterian glee that, "All in all, I think we hit the jackpot!"

Yes.

They did.

And they still do.

A Saturn/Neptune quincunx and Financial Crisis 2008

In July 2009 I made an attempt to relate the cycle of Saturn and Neptune to the 2007-2008 financial crisis, and to my own general misgivings about the original and current forms of our US government.

And Saturn's 'cold water' end-of-August conjunction with US natal Neptune @ 22Virgo25, the 'grim reality' transit, has added to the general feelings of gloom in the collective. Reality is having to be faced, and it had better be! If only we could get all our Washington politicians to come clean so we could deal, right?

Well, the quincunx (inconjunct), an aspect of 150 degrees, is difficult to deal with at the best of times, which financially we may say these are not. Saturn is form, Neptune is formlessness, and their inconjunct adds to the diffulties as the irreconcilable must be reconciled.

Yet fulfilling social obligations and/or doing social work for the common good are two of the aspect's most positive manifestations, so with today being the 8th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, it's most apt that a drive is on for the newly established 911 Day of Service and Remembrance. This links 9/11 with the 2003 Iraq War response (misguided though it may have been) when Saturn and Neptune were last inconjunct (2003/04.)

That today's Sept 11 observances in Pennsylvania, New York, and DC fall just hours prior to the perfecting of another Saturn/Neptune quincunx seems synchronistically appropriate, doesn't it?

And most fortuitously for both of us, a brilliant article has been published concerning the transiting Saturn/Neptune quincunx and its part in our economic woes, just in time for the aspect's perfection tomorrow, Sept 12, 2009, with Saturn in Virgo, Neptune in Aquarius.

So if you check it out now, you'll be all set just in time!

Secret Government: Saturn meets Neptune 1952 - 1953

On Nov 21, 1952, Saturn met Neptune, the planets whose combination indicate 'secret' (Neptune) 'government' (Saturn), at 22Lib47 which falls in the 10th house of Public Status and Career of America's natal chart (July 4, 1776; 5:10 pm lmt, Philadelphia, PA), during President Eisenhower's days.

This conj is two Saturn/Neptune cycles ago (their last conj in 1989 in the Reagan days @ '11 - 12 Cap'), and both conjs are part of their larger pattern; their opposition phase in 2007, the 'Full Moon' stage of the process which culminated in 2008's financial collapse (Neptune) of the banking system (Saturn) which surfaced (Saturn) from the collective unconscious (Neptune) has been a major part of the propaganda script each and every day while public funds were being heisted into bank accounts unknown.

The planets were inconjunct (or quincunx - 150 degr) in 2003/04 and we know what America was doing then under George Bush. This difficult aspect between them of 'adjustment' has a 'social obligation and responsibility' flavor but it's easy to take on too much under its rays as the US has done in Iraq. Saturn inconj Neptune has a 'martyr' flavor, too.

So the recession in the US actually began in 2007 during Saturn/Neptune's on-and-off opposition and 2008's financial crisis was, imo, the culmination of plans for tighter control of the US government begun on a new level during Eisenhower's presidency. That the words 'like' and 'Ike' rhyme does not mitigate or lessen his culpability since I think all US presidents are in on the joke. And the joke is on we-the-people.

Due to retrogradation, the second of their Great Conjunction/s was on May 1, 1953 at 22Lib39; their third hook-up was on July 22, 1953 at 21Lib12. These positions in Libra place Saturn/Neptune conj Fixed Star, Arcturus, keywords: a different approach.

You'll note that July 22 is next Wednesday with its Solar Eclipse at 29Cancer27 when 'systems fail and new methods are needed to deal with events brought by the Eclipse' (paraphrased from Brady's Predictive Astrology.) Therefore, July 22, 2009 is on or near a Solar Return for Saturn/Neptune #3's Sun (perhaps a significant chart, but who has the time? The 29th crisis degree of Cancer is emphasized at the least, this we know.)

Now you'll be aware that 1952 is the year Dwight D. Eisenhower was elected president in a Republican landslide, and the US bombed North Korea.

You'll also know that Eisenhower is the one who warned us about the 'military industrial complex' taking over the US government, as they have. Sometimes I think Ike was actually preparing the masses for the idea with his direly delivered warning rather than honestly trying to caution us to avoid such a secret government, but that's probably my suspicious astrologer's nature shining through, right?

But after all, what exactly did Ike expect us to do about it in order to avoid the coup? Perhaps he didn't. Maybe he was using the power of suggestion which seems to have worked quite well. "

Saturn/Neptune conjunctions also tend toward communism as Saturn's boundaries are disregarded and dissolved (Neptune) by the state (Saturn), and secretiveness has its special place within any communist system, no? And insinuating Neptune is notorious for deception like sneaky spies depend upon.

And of course there's one of my favorite -ism creators, the Pluto/Chiron pair, whose midpoint in 1952/53 hung about at 1Scorpio+...conjunct what came to be known as the NWO's natal Sun degree of Oct 24, 1993...timed by the Great Conjunction (#3 and final) of Uranus/Neptune, a pair that adds mysticism to the scene.

Then there's an interview from 2007 with journalist John Pilger as he discusses the invisible government, US militarism, and similar subjects as they relate to the New World Order and an Illuminati agenda for America's future as...well...as a secret government. Check it out. Whether you use 'secret' or 'invisible' government - the choice is the same, and I have no idea whether Mr. Pilger is at all familiar with the astrological principles of Saturn/Neptune.

So naturally you've noticed the wide-orbed midpoint picture in the US Sibly chart for America's birth with Neptune '23Vir' in n 9th house, Saturn '15Lib' in n 10th house and Midheaven in between...

Saturn/Neptune = Mc (the 'Goal Point' of any chart): a peculiar character; a peculiar loss of ambition; wavering between materialism and idealism; enormous emotional suffering; moodiness; giving up or capitulating to the demands of the environment totally.

As always with midpoint pictures, they operate in an any, all, or none fashion, especially when stimulated into action by transit or progression. Transiting Saturn will be entering the territory in a few weeks as he tamps down US natal Neptune - or makes dreams (Nep) real (Saturn); then it's on to our Saturn-to-Mc transit (end of Oct 2009 into 2010), and a Saturn Return that begins by the end of December 2010.

Yet the simplest, most disturbing explanation of the picture from the 1776 chart may be that Saturn/Neptune's style of secret government, with all its surveillance on citizens and imperialist military expansion, really is a large part of The Goal of the United States of America.

Now that really pi*ses me off.
