US Congress' 3-fer Saturn Return of Accountability

This post is a reminder that in the pivotal year of 2024, the US Congress (first session March 4, 1789) will receive a three-fer Saturn Return to the legislative branch's 1789 position of Saturn @13Pis38:11. The dates are: 1. April 1, 2024; 2. October 12, 2024; 3. December 18, 2024. The rounded-up Sabian Symbol degree (14 Pisces) is "A Lady in Fox Fur," which we've seen before via gaslighting Neptune in the 1854 Republican Party Horoscope. The negative side of the foxy word picture is "immoral opportunism." Now as you see, Election 2024 occurs between the second and third Saturn Returns with election results which may or may not be determined by or before December 18th. Of course, Saturnian authenticity is involved as well, or it should be! And I don't refer to the old 'politicians kissing babies' ploy.

Then of course, karmic Saturn's persistent demand for accountability is already in motion in 2023 and will naturally continue to be a major part of Campaign 2024 as the November 2024 Elections near, with authoritative lawmaker Saturn also known as the 'legal eagle' planet. Along with the presidency, congressional races are squarely in Saturn's 2024 spotlight of scrutiny, we might say, as timed by Congress' Saturn Return occurring during an election year.

Note that triple returns of planets tend to occur when lessons have yet to be learned and applied correctly with Saturn, or, with a planet like Mercury, ideas, plans, and/or reforms require a period during which they can be accepted and utilized (using the denial-acceptance-resolution model of retrogradation). If they will be, that is. After all, some people never learn, and I'm guessing that we both know someone like that.

Government, Law, Responsibility, Accountability

Significantly for the US Congress, all 435 seats in the House and 34 of 100 seats in the Senate will be up for grabs along with the Presidential and Vice Presidential offices in the 2024 Elections. Taking on the responsibilities of office and accepting commitments as presented are always on the menu during all elections whether candidates recognize this or not--and for America, Election 2024 will determine our country's future of democracy or barbarism, and will either hold up our tradition of Rule of Law, or not.

Note that these past Republican antics of non-governing occurred under the US Congress's Saturn Return of March 1, 1993, and future bouts of government shutdowns cannot not be ruled out with debt ceiling refusal again part of the GOP's bag of tricks.

We the People: Neglected Saturnian Demands

When the Republicans "masterminded" their anti-responsibility 1995 and 1996 government shutdowns for a total of 26 days, Bill Clinton was president and radical reformer Newt Gingrich (who shares the Sun Gem-Moon Sag personality blend as the orange albatross) was leading the Contract With America scam, or, 'Contract On America', as it's unfondly known around here. Unfondly known because Republican policies and reforms tend to be pro-corporate-and-wealthy classes and anti the rest of us. So for this particular Child of the Revolution at this time in history, "economic royalists," no matter their political party, belong elsewhere than in a democratic Republic.

Note that the Republicans' 1995-1996 antics of non-governing occurred under the US Congress's Saturn Return of February 22, 1995, and that future bouts of government shutdowns cannot not be ruled out with debt ceiling refusal again part of the GOP's bag of tricks. Of course, no one needs Astrology to tell them of this power-grabbing threat with Saturn one of the planets of control (as you know, Pluto is the other planet of manipulation and control, but with a more distant influence such as a puppetmaster, blackmailer, or thug enforcer).

Then There's Another Saturn Return Affecting the US

More recently came a third of three Saturn Returns, this time for the US Constitution with #3 on January 10, 2023; also shown in the post is the freedom document's previous Saturn Return of March 1, 1993, the year of the three Great Conjunctions of Uranus and Neptune, the planetary pair of what today's Republicans scoff at as wokeness but back in the day, they were planets of The Enlightenment, aka, The Age of Reason with Uranus signifying Reason and Science (and thus, critical thinking and logic), and Neptune representing Faith, Mysticism, and Superstition.

So when the two generational planets with their 171-year cycle joined together in 1993 at or about the 18th degree of Saturn-ruled Capricorn (a degree of POLITICAL POWER and "smug or strong-armed paternalism"--Jones), the centuries-old debate between reality vs fantasy was geared up for the ideological battle now being waged by maga seditionist types.

Then for political purposes, energies of the 1993 Conjunction were catapulted into higher gear in 2017 when transit Pluto reached the Uranus-Neptune conjunction and a midpoint picture formed of Uranus-Neptune = tr Pluto: 'The big picture commands a certain course of action which must be followed; very little option to do otherwise' (Solar Arcs, N. Tyl #ad). And you know who 2017 Pluto symbolizes, of course, with his deadly 12th house midpoint picture of natal Pluto = Mars-Saturn conjunct the 'death axis'. And this barbaric animalism is what zealous authoritarian soldiers are aiming for now as they act on behalf of a Christo-Fascist empire while under the zombie-like influence of mass delusion promoted by a certain cult leader convincing them that they act for a purged and improved America. Willing self-deception abounds, and his vision of "American carn*ge" arrived with Pluto 2017. Because violence is part of 'the big picture' for the "leaders" who have the stomach for it.

Meanwhile, my belief in our era of history is that the centuries-old battle of "Enlightenment" knowledge and awareness vs darkness and ignorance is what Republicans such as Florida's Ron DeSantis are working to reignite as a regressive style of codified religion tries to take over the US government, and critical thinking and Science are considered to be erroneous. Book banning is a good example of their anti-societal efforts, while the ongoing Republican attack against Science, scientists, and education continues to cause turmoil and disruption in society, medically (ex: repeal of Roe v Wade), and otherwise.

Okay, here's the end of my final fuss for the week of June 19, 2023. But fret not for I entertain no expectation that this post will be shared, for I doubt that any reader ever does. But at least--perhaps--my sincere hope is that you're planning to Vote Blue in 2024! If so, my work is done, and I Thank You for reading this post.

Social Security, Saturn, and the 118th Congress

With the US House of Representatives now controlled by far-righters in the Republican Party, it's beyond time to consider the Astrology of the social safety net that millions of Americans depend upon (inner chart; SS 1935) surrounded by the January 3, 2023 Horoscope of the 118th Congress - specifically the House members who act as saboteurs of our safety and peace of mind.

As you can see, attacks and interference issue from a variety of sources and actors (planets) - there's even a generational clash between Pluto opposing Pluto, an ongoing condition that has been in force for some time - and more significant due to America's first-ever Pluto Return. And of course, the 'clash of ideologies' and 'persecutions' of Neptune in shady, contagious Pisces opposing US 1776 Neptune in fact-based Virgo, the victim-savior axis, has brought its own difficulties and disasters.

So through wealthy hoarder Pluto ('the assassin') we find that the opposition describes circumstances as a Cancer (ruler Moon: the people's needs, security) affair challenged by Capricorn (ruler Saturn: business, investment, government, law), and we see this starkly playing out (penned in the center of the bi-wheel) against the American public with 2023 Saturn @22AQ41 conjunct 1935 Moon with all the suffering, worry, and loss this transit can bring to the struggling have-nots and the working class in particular. In fact, Saturn-opposing-Moon is a shorthand way to symbolically identify conditions in our society if the fabric of the US social safety net programs - inadequate as they may be - breaks down and is turned into a massive heist perpetrated by the monied classes of Wall Street and their handmaidens in Washington DC. And besides those vulture capitalists, Put*n may be waiting for his pay-off along with other foreign governments.

Yet for years the American people have known such conditions have been threatened because Republicans have promoted cuts and worse for decades with Social Security benefits and Medicare under their knives of austerity on behalf of wealthy donors such as Wall Street gentry and corporatists who are desperate to steal more billions from the American people.

The Love of Money Is the Root of All Evil

Obviously, selfishness, greed, and causing loss and harm to others are their motivations. And this is part of a depopulation agenda, in case you've yet to notice, as a high-stakes tug-of-war for ultimate control and power (Pluto) plays out over our heads (through a Cancer vs Capricorn lens). That Pluto rules the Criminal Underworld is a major factor and we can expect to see even more destructive criminal activity once transit Uranus reaches the Neptune-Pluto Conjunction (@7-9 Gemini in 1891/92 = robber barons) in 2027.

Now as you see above, planetary contacts from 2023 planets to those of 1935 such as 2023 Uranus (disruptive anarchists, zealots, and fanatics) opposes Social Security's money planet Jupiter @15Sco06 in 1935. This suggests that changes (which may come suddenly with erratic Uranus - or not at all if President Biden and congressional Democrats manage to stop the onslaught!) can have unpredictable and/or unexpected results or consequences. Not that devil-take-the-hindmost political saboteurs of America care about details.

One thing I must wonder about is this: if Republicans and their enablers have their way against FDR's very popular New Deal programs that benefit the American people, who do corporatists expect will have money enough to buy their products and services if seniors and others are reduced to penury? Well, maybe it's about the culling of the herd, no matter what. You know, the old 'success at any cost' as long as it's someone else's loss.

Because there are several other contacts worth considering for a fuller picture of the trouble we're in, and do note that Social Security's Saturn, karmic planet of old age, responsibility, and accountability but also of loss, restriction, debt, and deprivation, will return to natal position (8Pis03) on February 14, 2024, the year of the next US Presidential Election and just prior to the upcoming Great American Eclipse in the 8 North Saros Series when dreams and visions will be prominent, and the 8 North eclipse's path of totality will cut a swath from Southwest to Northeast.

Another factor worthy of concern is that dry Saturn @8Pisces conjuncts US 1776 Ceres (grains, food supplies, democracy) and the 1776 Pluto-Chiron midpoint, so if there are any doubts about who's behind the dearth and austerity - it's American Plutocrats in league with Global Plutocrats who want it all.

But what they don't want is democracy.

Tragic Idea 2023: The 'Big Lie Party' in Control

After keeping up with events in Congress the last several days, and now that we've seen the disfunction in the House of Representatives, I took a look at a previous post, Midterm 2022 Planets to US Congress Horoscope and found reflections of the chaos and danger of far-right Republican anti-governing tactics intended to neuter and hobble, not just congressional Democrats and the Biden administration, but to undermine the authority of the legislative branch of the US government itself. Basically, the Republican take-over of the House, thanks to finagled outcomes of Midterms 2022 elections, is a forwarding of the coup attempt of January 6, 2021, with the orange blighter cheering on the chaos and disruption his Big Lie pretends to justify.

As erratic events proceed, Americans who have missed the importance of the so-called "clown show" now performed by congressional Republicans, may realize that this is not a game. The QAnon anti-democracy crowd, under instructions from abroad by way of Mar-a-Largo, are deadly serious about obeying Russia, China, and perhaps other dictatorships. Because for global take-over of leadership, fascist-style governments need America and democracy to fail.

So if we consider the Midterm 2022 Lunar Eclipse planets as transits to the 1789 Horoscope of the US Congress, we find the November 2022 Eclipse @16Taurus conjunct radical anarchist planet of zealotry, Uranus squaring 1789 Pluto 18AQ32 which reveals ruthless behavior and criminal activities - and this with Midterms 2022 Saturn 18AQ46 directly hitting 1789 Pluto showing abuse of power implications, power and control struggles (supported by the 6 South Solar Eclipse of October 25, 2022 with its 'taking control' theme), and past actions and mistakes becoming important to the present (exs: threats of another government shutdown by the GOP; playing fast and loose with raising the debt ceiling limit and America's credit rating coming soon - part of the GOP's 'collapse America' plan to shrink government so it can be drowned in a bathtub, as Grover Norquist said out loud). And of course, farcical Republicans intend to interfere with investigations into their own criminal and treasonous behavior by "investigating" themselves.

Now obviously, much anger and frustration can be seen within the 118th Congress and one expression of these emotions is shown by transit Mars in Gemini conjunct 1789 Moon 10Gem54 and 1789 Ascendant with wounded Chiron rising as well (Mars-Chiron: the 'sacred warrior' achetype, as Republican theocrats imagine themselves to be), but perhaps Chiron's function as a blindspot describes the party's delusional plans more aptly as they gaslight the American public ad nauseum.

Then with 1789 Venus 22AQ04 squared by transit Uranus in Taurus, we find unorthodox alliances, potential relationship break-ups, unanticipated obstacles, erratic financial concerns - all of which have and will turn up as their chaos, anti-societal rules, and wastes of money plans proceed (bogus investigations are expensive in more ways than one). Incendiary possibilities, unpredictable events, more relationship troubles, and even a potential for disruption by a crowd are denoted by transit Uranus square 1789 Mars 29AQ04, and all playing out at the 1789 Midheaven of the US Congress.
