Here's a segment from Tuesday's Thom Hartmann broadcast that touches on the realms of politics, religion as theocracy, government, and societal conditions - all of which the Republican Party wants complete control over even though a majority of Americans disagree. 'Consent of the governed' has no place in their future plans for America. Instead, tyranny is their jam.

Translated astrologically, we might ascribe such societal topics to the realms of two karmic planets: Saturn (control; restriction; limitation; law; government; The State) and Neptune (spirit; divine source; the masses; churchiness; panacea; contagion; paranoia), while as a planetary pair, Saturn-Neptune relates to social safety net programs (which Republicans loathe), socialism (ditto), plus, the ill, weak, and poor among us - which they also loathe:

In fact, as the haughty GOP makes abundantly clear these days, the party much prefers to model our nation upon Mussolini's formula: Statism + Corporatism = Fascism. And with beastly Nazism waiting its turn in the wings. So I'll say it again, my fellow Americans:

Vote Blue in 2022 to save democracy in America.

Otherwise, degradation, loss, suffering, and brutality will be the fate of the American people. Because, yes. It really can happen here.

Happy 87th Anniversary Social Security!

Because the 87th anniversary of the signing of the Social Security Act by President Franklin D. Roosevelt has arrived, here is a bi-wheel of horoscopes showing the signing of the Social Security Act ("noon"; inner) with the popular, life-saving social safety net program's Solar Return 2022 planets (outer) which actually became exact yesterday afternoon:

Yes, I know, way too many of my study notes are squooshed upon the charts, my usual mea culpa. Actually, marking the charts took quite some time this Sunday morning so that now I have company coming and no time to type a bunch upon the topic. However --

An Eclipse 'Cosmic Time Link' Theory: 2022 to 1935

Toward Social Security, threats have often been made, including by Donald Trump and his GOP comrades. Meanwhile, in light of America's current problems concerning the Trump-Espionage Act turmoil, there is a factor I am compelled to add to this post and it involves the Solar Eclipse Series in which the SS Act was signed - the 9 New South.

Penned on the inner chart in 9th house you see it there where it manifested in 1935 @6Leo17. My 'cosmic link' theory about this is that the recent New Moon of July 28, 2022 @5Leo39 activated or is echoing the themes of the 9 New South Solar Eclipse and bringing them up in the Collective for society to deal with. 'Certain conditions open to scrutiny that were previously hidden' is part of this picture, and of course, New Moons can behave in similar disruptive fashion to Solar Eclipses (and Full Moons like Lunar Eclipses: even the Full Moon @19AQ21 on August 11, 2022 'hit' the SS Act's Syzygy Moon @20AQ47, and 2022 Saturn Rx now restricting the Act's Full Moon - see top center of the image).

Additionally, I've long had a theory that when turmoil takes over the media air waves such as we now have, it's always prudent to look in the opposite direction, so to speak, because something is happening in politics that public attention is being diverted from. Poorly explained, but you know what I mean: slight of hand, and under table deals. Now the Schumer-Manchin deal seems positive enough but considering current transits to the 1935 horoscope, a primary concern is about the health and future of the Social Security Program that millions of Americans depend on - and the malevolent tendencies of certain greedy politicians and the wealthy ideologues who bribe them.

So in closing, I hope you'll consider 9 New South themes which mimic current Trump-Espionage Act circumstances (my italics) - unless I miss my guess:

Bringing to the surface long-term worries about loved ones, health, or issues to do with paperwork or communications; this could manifest as a worrying piece of news about a loved one or responsibilities with paperwork coming home to roost; any news will have a sense of fatedness or destiny attached (paraphrasing B. Brady).

And one more thing: among the multiple topics involved, the purloined documents that Trump illegally squirreled away at Mar-a-Lago could contain secret information about the WTC attacks of 9/11.

The New Year Brings a Major Political Event in My Home State of Georgia

Early in the New Year, two political contests will determine which party controls the US Senate beginning in 2021 and their outcomes will determine how well the Biden-Harris adminstration can manage its work. Predictably, Senate Majority Leader Mitch "grim reaper" McConnell and certain Republican groups are spending many millions of advertising dollars in Georgia in hopes of retaining control of all Senate proceedings and thereby keeping the gavel of power out of the hands of a Democrat. No longer the party of 'fiscal responsibility' one must wonder at the GOP's broader agenda which seems to be the sabotage of our nation into penury and collapse. Of course you may disagree, dear reader, but there it is.

Meanwhile, there's a website with all you need to know about the Georgia Runoff Election of January 5, 2021 between Kelly Loeffler (R) vs Raphael Warnock (D) to complete the term of Senator Johnny Isaakson (which ends in 2023), and incumbent Senator David Perdue (R) vs Jon Ossoff (D). Naturally the information is aimed at Georgia voters and includes a list of significant dates, 2020 into 2021:

November 18: mailing of absentee ballots began

December 7: deadline to register to vote

December 14-31: early in-person voting

January 5: Election Runoff for two US Senate seats.

Now since I relocated to Raleigh NC in early 2019, I can't say for certain that statewide polling locations in Georgia are open on January 5, 2021 during the same hours as those of my former county of residence (7:00 am to 7:00 pm) but I imagine this to be the case. If you're a Georgia voter, check with your county to be sure. After all, in ye olde 13th Colony, there's no telling what underhanded tricks may be used to suppress or negate your vote.

Astrologically, there's a 'sense of social justice' to the day's cosmic energies with Sun in Saturn-ruled Capricorn and Moon in Venus-ruled Libra for the 24 hours of January 5, 2021. Voting planet Mercury is also in Capricorn (at 7:00 am: 25:04, to 25:53 by 7:00 pm) and is under great pressure, even constraint and suppression, because impressionable Mercury (although not so easily swayed when in Capricorn!) is traveling as the filling in a cosmic sandwich between karmic planets Saturn (2AQ08) and Pluto (25Cap20), actors with control, manipulation, and power tucked under their belts.

(In previous posts, I've referred to Mercury as the 'tofu planet' since it tends to absorb the flavors of the planet/s it touches or contacts (plus, that of the ruler of the sign it's in). Political campaigns are all about persuading voters and leaning on them in one way or another is not so rare an occurrence as it ought to be in America. No less so in Georgia.)

Of course here, Pluto in Capricorn is closer by degree to the voting planet so there's a Mercury-Pluto conjunction to consider while keeping a decidedly Saturnian influence. Mercury-Saturn suggests that voters will have researched the candidates and the situation but are focused primarily how outcomes will affect local concerns via state politics. Note that the Mercury-Saturn planetary pair may also relate to dishonest, untrustworthy people, and to serious or sobering discussions and negotiations.

Then naturally with Mercury-Pluto expressing powerfully we may expect potentials for excessive zeal, influential speeches and/or writings, propaganda, demagoguery, plagiarism, fraudulent representations in communications, public recognition, use of suggestion or persuasion, deep research (ex: opposition research into opponents), crafty subtlety, overestimation of self, shrewd planning, irritation, impatience, and/or just plain secrets, hidden or revealed.

Yet I have faith that many Georgia voters will realize that on January 5th they are faced with conditions of 'stark realism' and the karmic need to face America's problems directly rather than stalling proposed solutions for them on a powerful senator's desk. It remains to be seen whether Georgians will vote with the future of our entire country in mind, plus, with an urge to rescue from Republican zealots the social safety net programs such as Social Security and Medicare that so many citizens' lives depend upon. As always, I'm cheering for the common good.

12/02/17 Senate Passes Tax Cut Bill as Jupiter Smiles

Predatory Capitalism Supports the GOP's Corporate Tax Cut Bill

Dec 2, 2017: this morning "shortly before 2 am ET" (Reuters News), Republicans passed their version of the Tax Cut Bill (51--49) with only Republican Senator Bob Corker voting Nay. No Democrat voted for this historic monstrosity weighted on the side of the billionaire/corporate classes. Of course, the Senate version must be reconciled with the House version before Mr. Trump can sign the bill into law, he hopes before or by Christmas.

The horoscope for December 2, 2017 shortly before 2 am ET presents an interesting picture. The chart I'm looking at is set for 1:48 am ET because it places US natal Jupiter (5Can56) at Midheaven, the Goal Point of the chart (which, without an exact time, is a symbolic chart of the event). Now as you know, our national Jupiter @6Cancer = "Game Birds Feathering Their Nests" which fits Congress perfectly then as now, don't you agree?

Adriano Carelli gives '6Cancer' a symbol of: "Alcibiades, walking through Athens with his famous dog, whose 'most beautiful red tail' he has cut" and says it's a degree of "a spendthrift, devoid of practical sense." Carelli adds that having luck, "he will reach what he has set his heart upon and go on throwing money out the window with the utmost composure, certain that he will somehow manage to earn more," and that "His recklessness might go so far as to bring about his own ruin." (Note that Carelli's book The 360 Degrees of the Zodiac has the name Alcidiades--correct spelling is Alcibiades.)

Rising at 1:48 am is 5Lib05 which makes money-and-values planet Venus the chart-ruler (and vote-ruler) yet Venus @1Sag07 in 2nd house of Money and Values makes no major applying aspects to other planets. But there is a minor semi-square from Venus to powerful wealth-hoarding saboteur, Pluto and The Creepy One is inconjunct and in karmic Nodal Degree with the North Node (17Cap50 to 17Leo28). The Venus-Pluto contact hints at wastefulness which supports the protective Water Grand Trine between Jupiter, Neptune, and US natal Jupiter at MC (1:48 am ET). A Water Grand Trine appreciates emotional enrichment and material prosperity (Tierney). No doubt on the emotional plane, Senate Republicans are cats with the cream this morning! Ef the national debt and deficit!

So as you know, year 2009 was imprinted with the current Jupiter-Neptune cycle beginning with three conjunctions between Jupiter and Neptune, the speculator-wastrel pair of bubbly finances, unrealistic dreams, and fortune-hunters. All three conjunctions landed on America's natal Aquarian Moon (We The People) and denoted potentials for losing oneself in plans; a desire to dream; little sense of reality; becoming involved in speculation; instability; wastefulness (Ebertin). Note that the Jupiter-Neptune cycle lasts approximately 13 years so we're stuck with its affect on We The People's Moon until the planets meet again--once--on April 12, 2022 @23Pis59 (during a US Neptune opposition!)

Yet even without US natal Jupiter and this chart's MC forming a Grand Trine, transit Jupiter and Neptune do trine one another in the chart, an aspect suggesting efforts that stimulate social programs and benefit the needy--the very opposite of what the GOP Tax Cut Bill intends! However, karma will supply the GOP's 'reaping what was sown' results--if not now, then in future years--perhaps in 2018 and 2020 elections, and/or when the alleged tax breaks for the middle class expire and all chaos breaks loose financially and in the realms of healthcare.

Mercury, ruling 9th and 12th houses in this chart and planet of votes, bills, and negotiations, is @29Sag12 ('30Sag' = "The Pope Blessing the Faithful"). Is the Vatican involved?? As you know, a 29th degree is unstable and very eager to move into the next sign--here, into Saturn-ruled Capricorn, sign of government, law, and business.

A Sun-Neptune Square and Pluto-Chiron Exploitation

Squared by fraudster Neptune (11Pis29), karmic planet of the media and the masses, the (POTUS-related) Sun @10Sag16 is in 3rd house of Communications and its Sabian Symbol for '11Sag' is curious: "The Lamp of Physical Enlightenment at the Left Temple"...keyword: RECONCILIATION which what this senate bill is headed for. And as anyone can see, the US Capitol Building is nothing if not a Masonic temple. Plus, '11Sag' is the conjunction degree of the last meet-up of Pluto and Chiron (conjunct US natal Ascendant), one of the major Plutocracy pairs; their last conjunction occurred December 30, 1999 and thus helped usher in the New Millennium via the pair's tendencies toward oppression, predatory exploitation, primal violence, racism and other -isms (exs: predatory Capitalism, Socialism). And of course, the August 11, 1999 Solar Eclipse in the 1 North Saros Series (the series we're under now with The Great American Eclipse of August 2017 @29Leo) 'let go the winds of war' as the Book of Revelation predicted. Also note that under the vibes of a 1 North solar eclipse, "information is distorted and possibly false" and events "put pressure on relationships" (Brady) as we see with Robert Mueller's Russia investigation into the shady foreign affairs of Donald Trump and his crew.

Mars Opposite Uranus Fading But Still Influential

We should also mention that rising in 1st house is brash Mars @25Lib32, fresh from his exact opposition to anarchist-zealot Uranus @24Ari58 Rx in the 7th house of Partnerships. This opposition of danger and conflict was discussed in a recent related post, Mars oppo Uranus as GOP forces Tax Cut Bill. Perhaps Mars in the 1:48 am chart represents Republican Senator Bob Corker who did not vote for the GOP bill that will disrupt (Uranus) many areas of our society and raise our nation's debt and deficit to unprecedented levels, thereby sabotaging America.

Money-Bags Jupiter in Big Business Scorpio, Sign of Betrayal

Transit Jupiter, planet of bankers, donors, financiers, politicians, military generals, and preachers is in 2nd house of Money and Values @11Sco19 and approaches the upcoming Jupiter Return of Ronald Reagan under whose watch the last major overhaul of US taxes took place. The first of three conjunctions of transit Jupiter to Reagan's natal Jupiter position occurs December 14, 2017 with its 'tax cuts for corporations stimulates job growth' fallacy now being re-used by Capitol Hill Republicans in spite of the fact that corporate tax cuts do not inspire corporations to re-invest in US workers and the economy. Having been burned before, this time a majority of Americans are not buying into the tiresome GOP-touted job-creation fallacy that Reagan lifted from Hoover times of the 1920s. And here we go crashing again.

DC Horoscope: Spring Equinox 2017 (Aries ingress)

Below is the Spring Equinox 2017 horoscope set for Washington DC (in its role as representative for all of America). As you see, the February 26, 2017 Solar Eclipse @8Pis12 is rising and you'll find a link to my notes concerning this eclipse and the August 21, 2017 eclipse ('The Great American Eclipse') at the end of this post:

March 20, 2017 Washington DC: Ascendant @10Pis37; Neptune, planet of dissolution, deception, and fraud, rises which makes the speculation-wastrel-inflation pair of Jupiter-Neptune chart-ruler and co-ruler. Neptune in 1st house with the ASC bracketed by Neptune-South Node (intrigue and unfortunate circumstances, scandals, water damage) also denotes uncertain, unstable conditions that are too big to handle; following Neptune are Chiron, Sun (at Aries Point = World Events), Venus Rx, Mercury at a critical degree, and disruptive zealot Uranus, still opposing Jupiter Rx but separating. This is a full 1st house so a very busy Spring season is on tap.

edit: Plus, as you see, the February 26, 2017 Solar Eclipse (Spring EQ 2017's Prenatal Eclipse, or PE) @8Pis12 also rises and suggests that its 19 South themes will be affecting the Spring season agenda. Its themes are 'a pleasant surprise; a joyful event, sudden happiness, a lucky break or win, positive changes' (Brady). That's awfully good for a South Node eclipse which tends to indicate a draining of energies but I'll patiently wait all Spring for our ship to come in on Piscean seas, won't you?

Then in 10th house we find a very close conjunction of Moon (We The People) and restrictive, depressive, austere Saturn @27Sagittarius, planet of laws and lawmakers. 'Overambitious pretensions' (27Sag) may be in evidence though strategy, ambition, and a sense of direction are positive potentials of Moon-Saturn contacts. Obviously, extreme apprehension (Saturn) affects the public (Moon) concerning the experiences that are coming up as Spring 2017 unfolds.

Also of concern is testy Mars @7Tau28 in 2nd house of the National Treasury. At the Goal Point (Midheaven, aka, MC) is 19Sag13 with moneybags Jupiter ruling there as well. Plus, Jupiter again leads a Locomotive of all the planets in his role as CEO and roughshod executive in a power position ('full steam ahead') leading onward toward fulfilling objectives which have been desired in some quarters since FDR's New Deal programs were instituted. Mr. Trump is simply the latest 'face' upon the austerity monster.

Social and political stability in 2017 are lacking in this horoscope as might be imagined with enemies of our social safety net now in charge of House and Senate and with their mouthpiece-of-sorts (the tweeter-in-chief) and Mr. Pence in control of the White House helm thanks to the Electoral College who overrode the popular vote in November 2016. Here we have another president with No Mandate from The Governed yet he'll act, talk, and tweet as if he's following 'the will of the people'! Yet in this chart the themes of the rising Solar Eclipse are positive and I'd prefer to hold positive expectations for the presidency of Mr. Trump but I think we all know what sort of things to expect instead from his highly suspicious anti-government/anti-New-Deal Cabinet choices and the overly Republican Congress, the 115th.

The 7th house Syzygy Moon (last lunation), a Full Moon @22Vir13, perfects on March 12th conjunct US natal Neptune, a further example of the instability in our society and current fraudulent political conditions in the US. Of course, Neptune also rules the masses, propaganda, poisons, and the media, most of whom colluded with the political class and their shared financial backers during the 2016 Campaign in order to produce such a 'president' to mislead our nation which will be dismantled along with the social safety net the elderly, ill, and weak depend upon. Survival-of-the-fittest guru Ayn Rand didn't believe in coddling the weak, you know (though she herself applied for and received social safety net benefits in her old age, the hypocrite). Apparently, age rendered her a "useless eater" too but don't tell Paul Ryan and his GOP cohorts (and the duplicitous Democrats who helped enable this whole scam). So it seems that the GOP depopulation program has now been officially established.

Well, today is my birthday and I'm rapidly getting a headache just looking at this horoscope and thinking about how these knaves intend to line their and Wall Street's pockets at our expense (as always but on steroids) as 2017 plods along so I'll close for now and hope to add more details to my astro-notes concerning this horoscope at a later date. As I said, social and political stability in 2017 are lacking in the Spring Equinox 2017 horoscope.

And yet we must not falter for our only hope is ourselves.

Examples include: separately (Saturn = government, law, business and is a societal planet along with Jupiter; austere Saturn (loss) restricts, Jupiter expands (gain) and they alternate their roles in Mundane/Political Astrology as representatives of the Democratic and Republican Parties; Neptune can inspire but also undermine, defraud, and deceive; karmic Saturn and Neptune bracket America's natal Midheaven, the Goal Point, in July 4, 1776 natal charts set for around 5:00 pm LMT (Sag rising), and their midpoint is the 'illness axis'. Together the pair denotes the weaker, poorer, needier people among us so that our social safety net programs are indicated. Their combined energies also represent such societal movements as Socialism, Communism, Marxism, and Capitalism, and our secret/invisible (Neptune) government (Saturn).

In addition, the Great Conjunction/s of Saturn and Neptune have been previously considered for the current square between them is a phase of their 36-year cycle which began in 1989 with three conjunctions: March 3 @11Cap55, June 24 @11Cap14, and November 13 @10Cap22. Ah yes, Saturn-ruled Capricorn! Sign of Government, Law, Business, Systems, and the status quo. And as you see, the 10--12 degree area of Capricorn has already been trodded upon by creepy wealthy Pluto, god of Hades and the Dragon Guarding the Hidden Treasure (not to miss the resonance with China, land of the dragon, whose stock market drooped overnight which is affecting global markets today); Pluto remains within a 5-degree orb of the 1989 conjunction/s. Therefore, the Collective is experiencing a 'hangover' from 1989 triggered in the form of the downtrodden and fearful images of Saturn-Neptune = Pluto. And let's note that 'methodical execution of plans with painstaking effort' is also denoted by Saturn-Neptune (The Combination of Stellar Influences, R. Ebertin).

Now as previously discussed here, bass note Pluto in Capricorn keys such images as 'the dictator' and prescribes a long period when governments are toppled and stable institutions and systems are undermined or dissolved (Neptunian words). As 2016 begins (and with 1776's US Pluto @27Cap33 Rx), Americans are feeling the effects big-time especially since our nation has been held up as a model for the world--of democracy, freedom, independence, humanitarianism, and personal and religious liberty. Yet many of us, self included, feel that anti-American forces have taken over Washington and have and will divert America from such a noble course set upon Enlightenment principles in 1776. The 'new order' has become an outdated 'old order', the ruling elite tell us in so many ways. (Ex: a temporary government shutdown with that particular threat now permanently on the political table; even Grover Norquist's 'shrink the US government small enough to drown it in a bathtub' is a Saturn-Neptune threat!).

Years ago, America's exalted-in-Libra Saturn with its Scales of Justice changed course by progression turning retrograde in corporate/big business Scorpio (3-degrees+) where legal-minded lawmaker Saturn remains paralyzed like a fly in amber. And our national Jupiter in Cancer turned retrograde, too, in 1905 when its change of course aided the creation of the privately owned Federal Reserve Banking System (SP Jupiter remains in Cancer--@15Cancer, the Pentagon's natal Ascendant showing where most of our money goes.)

Now in 2016, societal concerns affected by their tension-filled square include: Saturn in Sagittarius (foreigners/emigrants leaving their native countries, boundaries and borders, a sense of justice, legalities, asceticism and renunciation) and Neptune in Pisces (fear, paranoia, pessimism, contagions, poisons and toxins, epidemics, oil-gas issues, spiritualism, mysticism, psychism, pathological tendencies, the arts). And of course, Saturn's rigid boundaries are under threat of dissolution by urge-to-merge Neptune so corporate monopolies are under the spotlight as well and the tension of their square suggests weather disasters with earth and tectonic plates (Saturn) and water/floods/fumes (Neptune) needing release.

As Above, So Below: Looking Ahead on Such Difficult Topics

Our nation has its very first Pluto Return/s to natal position in 2022--will a new order be in place by then? Plus, the next Saturn-Neptune conjunction conjoins the Aries Point (a World Point of Manifestation) on February 20, 2026 and these cosmic events are major descriptions of what all the distopian films, TV shows, and dire predictions for global society are intended to prepare society for--you know, the 'entertainment' (propaganda) we're constantly being drenched with to make the plans of the power elite seem inevitable.

All this said, perhaps an informative report on the Saturn-Neptune square from astrologer Barbara Goldsmith is appropriate at this juncture and I hope as 2016 gets more fully underway that we'll all be able to take any Saturn-Neptune lessons learned to heart by embracing Neptunian compassion while upholding Saturnian truthfulness:
