Another peek at Wedding Day Astrology: Bill and Hillary Clinton

Here is a re-post of my Wedding Day Astrology assessment of the union between Bill and Hillary Rodham Clinton, sans any serious edits:

Have you ever wondered what planetary influences were in the air on the day Bill and Hillary tied the knot and said, I Do? That would be October 11, 1975 in Fayetteville, Arkansas at their recently purchased home.

Since the Moon was in Capricorn for the 24 hours of Oct 11, 1975, we may confidently take a peek at the Sun (male)–-Moon (female) details from Sun Sign-Moon Sign personality blends, a book by Charles and Suzi Harvey.

As you know, the Sun–Moon duo relates to relationships especially between a husband and wife--in a word, marriage (Ebertin) so these details may be taken as a partial description of the Clintons' longstanding union.

Sun Lib–Moon Cap may be seen as “the ambitious wife (Cap) and the philandering, shallow (Libra) husband." But that’s because hindsight is near perfect in the matter and their marriage issues have been canon fodder for gossip rags and political pundits for years. Wonder how your relationship might fare when displayed in such a fishbowl? And if you happen to have political opponents?

Now some like to call the Clinton marriage ‘only a business arrangement’ but see what you think, and I’m quoting more of the Harveys than usual because they give Relationship info which we may find enlightening so I don’t want to leave out anything.

Let’s begin with some general traits of this in-square duo, for Venusian Libra square Saturnian Capricorn indicates regular blockages which entail separation (Venus/Saturn) yet may also bring dynamism and stability-–or at least continuation-–to the relationship (Venus/Saturn: love that endures.) Separation via travel is one possibility and they have certainly fulfilled that potential through their business and political careers.

Of course, mental Libra is Airy, Capricorn is extremely Earthy and practical so perhaps there’s something to the idea that she drove him to succeed more than he would have without her, for Librans can be quite lazy, you know, and most Capricorns possess a determined streak of ambition and often spend their lives striving for success.

So we see that the stable side of Venus/Saturn has been in play through the years and, as in every long term relationship, it has been up to Bill and Hillary to decide whether to keep their marriage going under whatever terms they choose to honor. External pressure against them has been strong but so far, so good, I guess.

As for 'Bill and Hill', their union tends to be: pragmatic; purposeful; orderly; tactful; diplomatic; powerful; controlling; skillful at managing people; persuasive; sophisticated; opportunistic; responsible; shrewd but likable; perfectionist and perhaps snob; the just politician. Or maybe that's 'likable' Bill and 'shrewd' Hill!

Weaknesses: manipulative; cooperative spirit vs blatant self-interest; over-rational approach to relationships and emotional matters; desire to keep all matters of life completely tidy; an over-sensitive ego which takes offense easily.

Sun Lib-Moon Cap Relationships: with the right person there can be extreme devotion; a close relationship is important for a sense of well-being; adoration and respect are important. Closeness vs aloneness; ability to adjust, adapt, and survive; love of control with a need to learn that being in a relationship is not the same as running a business.”

Earth's closest approach to Jupiter in 2016 occurs on March 8 @18Virgo, precisely opposing the degree of the March 9, 2016 Solar Eclipse @18Pis56. Astrological Jupiter in Virgo

As you know, Pisces, the sign of the March 9, 2016 Solar Eclipse, is traditionally ruled by Jupiter (and sub-ruled by oceanic Neptune, discovered in 1846.) Jupiter also rules Sagittarius, sign of The Seeker, which resonates with astrological Jupiter's hierophant/codified religion/ideology facets of this boundary breaking planet. When in Pisces, societal planet Jupiter spotlights potentials in the Collective that magnify tendencies of the 'swim up or swim down' sign of Pisces--to the heights or to the depths of humanity. Spirituality and compassion are part of Piscean realms as well and Virgo-Pisces is the victim-savior axis of the Zodiac. Turn on the news and we hear both sides of the human condition playing out across the globe with altruism, impressionability, overindulgence in negative escapism such as alcohol and other drugs receiving constant mentions.

The March 9th Solar Eclipse in its role as 'wild card' of the Universe will behave as eclipses often do: uncovering secrets and scandals, many of which may be inconvenient for those affected--and 2016 candidates and various politicians are not exempt especially if they have natal planets or points in the 17-19 degrees of Virgo or Pisces! While traveling through Mercury-ruled Virgo, expansive Jupiter tends to activate such traits as: ethical and moral values, the urge to gain knowledge, teaching, excessive ambition, superficial criticism, an ability to organize, thoughtlessness, and the possibility of harmonious teamwork. (The Combination of Stellar Influences, Reinhold Ebertin.) To this I would add scientific (Virgo) breakthroughs or discoveries (Jupiter) with Jupiter also signifying exploration and finances (Wall Street is loaded with Jupiterians!) Big (Jupiter) Plans (Mercury) are on the political agenda. (Note that Mercury also rules trading and deals such as those promised in the rhetoric of Donald Trump, the artful deal-maker.)

So as you see, some of the traits on the Jupiter-in-Virgo list relate to Campaign 2016, plus, two of the many hats astrological Jupiter may wear are The Politician and The Broadcaster. Campaign promises (Jupiter) include more jobs (Virgo) and better access to (free or more affordable) education which Jupiter in Virgo naturally favors.

So perhaps even armchair astronomers may care to tip their hats in honor of Jupiter, King of Planets, on March 8, 2016--he's a bright beauty!

America's Progressed Full Moon 2008 and the February 22, 2016 Full Moon

The Full Moon @3Vir33 on February 22, 2016 has me thinking: did 1776 America 'peak' in December 2008? For that is when our nation's natal (birth) horoscope reached a Full Moon phase by progression with Sun @4Virgo10 and Moon @4Pisces10--less than one degree from the February 22nd Full Moon positions across the victim-savior Virgo-Pisces axis. Below is a version of the US SP (Secondary Progressed) horoscope as published to my WordPress blog back in the day. The chart is set for the moment of exact opposition between progressed Sun and Moon and issues from our July 4, 1776 5:10 pm LMT Philadelphia, PA natal chart:

Campaign 2016 Under a Virgo Full Moon

Now as you've noticed, the rhetoric of Campaign 2016 has included certain events that occurred during the 8 years of the Bush-Cheney presidency (or, regime, as some describe it) such as expansion of US war efforts and the stupidity of invading Iraq. The national debt limit may soon be a featured GOP talking point as 2016 proceeds, and yet, karma rides side saddle with December 2008 marking what some consider the crescendo of Financial Crash 2008 when the mask of disguise could no longer be worn by America.

As a blogging astrologer, I have used America's 2008 SP chart for such a timing purpose because SP Full Moons cosmically identify the external limits to which a person or entity may reach in the world given the capabilities they began with (the natal potential). If this is so for our nation, it seems that only the less prepared--the 99% of us--were deeply harmed by the crash and by what has turned out to be a continuance of Wall Street's fraudulent ways and now big banks are bigger than ever and home mortgages are being sold over radio and TV as if they're hot cakes--yours for the asking! But not so fast, for victimized Americans have traveled this rocky road to ruin before...

My thought is that although you can presume to cheat natural laws for a while, at some point karma--the law of reaping what was sown--will catch up with you. Even power elite manipulators and their cat's-paw politicians must learn this basic universal lesson in the end when all cosmic litter boxes shall be cleansed. Perhaps you disagree, but to me, Senator Bernie Sanders is the only 2016 candidate offering to wield a giant pooper scooper!

For after all, our symbolic SP Full Moon and the real-time Full Moon of February 22, 2016 fall across the victim-savior Virgo-Pisces axis and we may find again that various types of impure shenanigans are under our Piscean feet and may be revealed by the light of the February Full Moon.

At the most visible angle of the chart we see Jupiter-North-Node at MC which shows someone increasing in public popularity, recognition, and status though NN conjoins star Denebola (to go against society, or, out of the mainstream which may describe any of the 'outsiders' still struggling for their respective nominations in Campaign 2016--or, malevolence toward society. Actually, the transiting Jupiter-NN of late has benefited the natal NN (22Virgo) and Neptune (26Vir58) of Senator Bernie Sanders and for Spring Equinox 2016, Sanders' natal Sun (15Vir36) shines at the Midheaven of this chart (Aspirations; The Goal.) However, the Equinox MC is at a critical or dangerous degree (17Virgo) as is the IC (17Pisces) which has the 18 South March 8, 2016 Solar Eclipse @18Pis55 conjoining it with themes of: endings, separations, partings, but with positive outcomes. (Brady.) The eclipse themes may describe candidates leaving the race or staffers leaving campaigns (though a loss through death cannot be ruled out at the IC = Endings, The HOW? Point, or the Foundation of the Matter.)

The public mood is playfully Leonine as you see: Moon @23Leo16 in 9th house chugs along as lead planet in a Locomotive line-up of planets, plus, the Moon (Hillary?) is also a member of a Fire Grand Trine with status quo Saturn and progressive Uranus, a closed circuit of energies where 'she' (Luna) is privileged, insulated, and hopes to be protected from outside interference and frustration (though nervous tension is involved). In the creative Fire element, this pattern shows a Moon full of self-pride, personal significance, and egotism. Fire is the royal element which provides much inner strength and self-confidence (humility need not apply!) along with demands for recognition (and nomination!) though such demands may be expressed in subtle or indirect ways. A reserved or stilted manner may be noticed. Yet this leading Moon might also describe the SCOTUS nomination process with Jupiter and Saturn square (obstacles; blockages) and both societal planets relating to the legal system and to the much-touted 'checks and balances' between the three branches of the US government.

But Bernie Sanders isn't the only 2016 candidate with significant planetary contacts to the Spring Equinox 2016 chart for Hillary Clinton's natal Jupiter @00Sag30 also rises in the above chart and her Saturn (authority, authenticity) is spotlighted by the Leo Moon. On the Republican side, the Leo Moon shines upon Jeb Bush's dictatorial Sun-Pluto opposition which for me denotes his war hawk/neocon past (Jeb signed on to the Iraq War via PNAC even before brother George did). As for Cruz and Rubio, stellar links to the equinox chart congregate mainly via their Jupiter-Neptune conjunctions rising indicating great hopes but little to build upon with shifty Neptune at IC (Cruz's Jupiter is in Scorpio, however, not Sagittarius like Rubio's.)

Before the 2016 General Election in November, Donald Trump's Sun Gemini-Moon Sagittarius opposition will be visited by transit Mars, the activator, in September 2016 while transit Saturn will take his own time getting there beginning in late December 2016 though restrictive effects may be felt earlier. Saturn to natal Moon is a squelcher emotionally as is Saturn opposite natal Sun which tends to cause endless delays, missed goals, challenges to authority, and hurt pride. Promises not lived up to come back to haunt, vitality may be missing, and health can be somehow impaired especially if there are chronic conditions.

Well, we haven't talked much about the recent Justice Antonin Scalia vacancy on The Bench (may he R.I.P.) but it's early days yet for that situation to gel though both sides are making noises. Suffice it to say that the Jupiter-Saturn square and Jupiter Rx already noted will provide plenty of delay tactics and blockages that we all expect to witness during the matinee performances of the Capitol Hill Political Theater that annoys We the People who are paying the tab for their half-hearted efforts as they 'govern' in breach of the public contract. One threat is another expensive Cruz 'filibuster' and unless someone stops him from again making a mockery of the US Senate, I wonder what he'll ham-ishly read this time?!? Testy Mars rising supplies plenty of conflict and tension.

Now a quick mention must be made of wealthy manipulator Pluto @17Cap16 in the 2nd house of the National Treasury, an indicator of foreign banking interests directing our financial system through the Fed and centered in the City of London, last I heard. Here Pluto triggers the 1993 Great Conjunction/s of Age of Reason planets, enlightened Uranus and Neptune, as we've discussed many times before. Transit Pluto hitting their midpoint creates a picture of "the big picture which must be followed, very little option to do otherwise" (Tyl) which always reminds me of an 'offer that can't be refused' made famous as plutonian Underworld Crime Syndicate dialogue in films such as The Godfather. Yet it also hints at the centuries-long Great Plan to crash civilization so that a 'new world order' or 'global government' can be built upon ruins, a larger version of how they did us on 9/11/01. A draconian control grid is, in fact, in place already for the most part. Can you feel it? Pluto as sub-ruler of corporate Scorpio rules the 12th house of Politics, Karma, Self-Undoing, and secret Back Room Deals in the Spring Equinox chart.

And yes, there is much more information to be found in the above chart but I can't type forever, so let's close with a few general notes concerning Spring Equinox 2016's fiery Sun Aries-Moon Leo blend if that's okay with you. Cautions are to watch out for those who exhibit a childish insistence on only seeing things their way (Ted Can Read!) or, those who move on to the next project before finishing the last (very Aries!) The emphasis is on such things as communications, support for causes, the concept or the actual demonstration of heroism, passionate idealism, inspired creativity, romance and entertainment.

Now if "passionate idealism" doesn't remind you of Bernie Sanders, maybe the blend's "Image for Integration" will: "After slaying the black dragon of sloth and greed, the young warrior is knighted by the one true king. He marries the maiden of purity and they live happily ever after." (Sun Sign-Moon Sign, Charles and Suzi Harvey.) Nice how 'the maiden of purity' is Virgo the Virgin and Senator Sanders' natal Sun, North Node of Public Contact, and idealistic Neptune are all in Virgo at the Aspiration Point of the Spring Equinox 2016 horoscope. Massive (Jupiter) audiences (NN) have so far been his during his campaign!

And last, on a curious note, one famous yet controversial person has turned up in the news during Campaign 2016 and perhaps she will again since she was born under the influences of the Sun Aries-Moon Leo blend. Her name? Feminist icon Gloria Steinem--with the Spring Equinox 2016 Moon spotlighting her Leo Midheaven!
