The Solar Eclipse of Opus Dei

During all the brou-ha-ha the last few years as the US Supreme Court bench was successfully populated with the bums of theocratic "conservative" judges through confirmations set up and manipulated by a Federalist Society's right-wing operative named Leonard Leo among others, a secret society known as Opus Dei ("God's work") came to attention within our public discourse.

The group was founded in 1928 under the auspices of the initial (very first) manifestation of a 2 New North Solar Eclipse @26Gem21:51. And perhaps you remember that former AG Bill Barr has been revealed as an Opus Dei member. Perhaps you also remember that the theme of all 2 New North Eclipses are: "The Tower - collapse and rebuild once the dust settles" (B. Brady). Apparently, the group's goal is the collapse of America so that our democratic Republic can be "rebuilt" as a fascist theocracy akin to the Catholic Church - from whence arose Opus Dei. Why, even women were allowed to join in 1930! They must have been seen to be useful after all.

Now I won't dispute the decades of degradation in society - in the US and elsewhere - with the enthusiastic participation of the Entertainment industry (sex sells), but attempting to force one's moral and ethical values on others is a senseless endeavor, unless a resort to cruelty is the point.

For as you know, values must be internal and can never be externally forced or they'll merely be superficial, and not genuine at all. Because historically we have the era of The Inquisition/s as a stark reminder of this.

Mercurial! Opus Dei's Eclipse in Gemini

Now in Mercury-ruled Gemini, solar eclipses bring issues of logic, fluency, and coherence in communications; negatively, they tend toward superficiality, caprice, and/or "talkathons" full of little if any forethought. Polling activities may also turn up under a Gemini eclipse (R. Lineman), plus, the fact vs fiction polarity of mutable Gemini-Sagittarius tends to be ruffled by a "wild card of the Universe" eclipse in Gemini.

And so the Horoscope of the Opus Dei "revelation" (October 2, 1928: thus, its founding), is shown in a dual image, below (upper right) set for "noon". Actually, Madrid, Spain may be the more accurate location but cussedly I've set both charts for Rome, where Vatican City nestles.

As noted, the Opus Dei Society was spawned under, and influenced by, the 2 New North Eclipse of June 17, 1928, as its solar and lunar energies "ran in the background of society." Below, the 1928 Eclipse Horoscope is shown lower left, and both charts display a YOD pattern of karmic opportunity, turning point, a special task, and/or crisis for those who care to use the "Finger of God" pattern which tend to work as timing agents; a generous helping of my study notes are squooshed upon the dual image of charts:

Saturn (old order) and Uranus (new order)

Then as you see, rigid Saturn in religious Sagittarius is prominent (see Saturn-SN notes on chart) as is Uranus in Aries (Utopianism = lawlessness); one spot that "vessel" Trump can be found in the eclipse chart is spiritual planet Neptune conjunct Apollo (the sun god: Sol Invictus?) conjunct Herr T's rising natal Mars in Leo (rising with Apollo and royal star Regulus, it seems). As noted, the theme of 2 New North are those of "The Tower" (#16 Tarot card). How curious that poet W.B. Yeats published one of his most famous collections in 1928 titled: The Tower.

Understandably, my suspicion is that the secretive group's Quest (Jupiter-Chiron) is to force their religious beliefs upon society utilizing a self-righteous assumption of alleged intellectual superiority (Saturn is Sag as Bucket handle). Plus, mention should be included here of the Eclipse Horoscope's Mercury-Pluto Conjunction with its spying tendencies and obsession with other people's secrets.

And the Sabian Symbol of the 2 New North Eclipse degree rounded up?

"27 Gemini": "A Young Gyspy Emerges from the Woods and Gazes at Far Cities." Dr. M. E. Jones gives this Symbol's keyword as, "EXPENDITURE"; and its positive expression as: "self-release in the joy of the accomplishments of the moment; negative (unconscious/shadow side- jc) expression: "complete disinclination to enter into the ordinary relationships of society."

Well, to me this sounds on the holier than thou side. How about you?

Pluto-to-South-Node 2027-2028: A New Age

Symbol: The Cosmic or Orphic Egg

Earlier in 2024, we discussed when Pluto conjuncts US 1776 South Node @6AQ35. Even with planet Pluto's plodding orbit of about 248 years, this conjunction has previously occurred since July 4, 1776: 5 times in 1781 and 1782. In our day, we can expect another 5 conjunctions exact on March 18, 2027, June 30, 2027, January 21, 2028, September 19, 2028, and November 16, 2028.

Follow the above link to view a bi-wheel of the March 18, 2027 Pluto-SN conjunction (inner) surrounded by the final November 16, 2028 conjunction. Transit Pluto goes out-of-bounds of the Earthly plane at some point which to me suggests even more distant, detached conditions of those who meddle in and manipulate America's business. And considering sneaky Pluto's habit of hoarding extreme wealth in hidden places, financial dealings are certain to be part of the bigger picture. That's reptilian Pluto the Dragon - and the reptile wrapped around the Cosmic Egg appears to signify the undulating Nodal Axis. We are, in effect, surrounded by reptile-brained individuals.

When Pluto and South Node Connect

A Pluto-South-Node pairing marks a period of resentment and misunderstanding, a time when the wills of powerful Plutonian figures - manipulating from a safe, distant ivory tower location - are out-of-tune with the will of the population. This has been the case already, of course, but the timing of their coming together brings in America's original South Node dependencies and talents in the realms of Aquarian humanitarian/enlightenment principles and impulses - now on someone's drawing board for a major overhaul.

Because as you know in 2024, fascist saboteurs and white power radicals are attempting to force enlightened views and aspirations out of the public discourse, and ban them from our consciousness (book banning and burning). After all, stealthy Pluto is about regeneration, transformation, destruction, and purification. And that is what book burners, "religious" types, and political opportunists consider themselves doing: purifying American society, shown in part by their ridiculous "anti-woke" campaign.

Then via the draconian Project 2025 agenda, they intend to purify the US government of anyone who disagrees with, or stands in the way of, their tyrannical plans for complete control. Could this be more unAmerican? No. It could not. Our traditional principles are under siege by global forces and thugs, and you know who the moblike figurehead leading the gang of saboteurs is. He even has a shady sidekick now.

Pluto in Aquarius: the US Constitution and Bill of Rights

By the time of the US Constitution (September 17, 1787; Campion #377), Pluto had crept on to 16AQ02, and for the Bill of Rights (created/approved September 25, 1789; ratified December 15 1791, in order to amend the Constitution), transit Pluto Rx was out-of-bounds @14AQ05, then @16AQ11 - and opposite Uranus Rx in Leo which suggests the elevated consciousness and inventiveness of those able to respond to such high-minded energies.

Now in closing, perhaps the rounded-up degree (7AQ) of the modern-day conjunctions' Sabian Symbol informs us: "EMERGENCE OF GLOBAL MAN for the New Age" (D. Rudhyar); the ancient symbolism is the Cosmic Egg (aka, the Orphic Egg shown above) and speaks of mutants and a fresh projection of the creative Spirit that emanates from the cosmic or planetary Whole, and not from any local culture and racial tradition (An Astrological Mandala, D.R. #ad). So, a Universal symbol then which sounds much more like the Harris-Walz ticket than the anti-women bullies of the GOP!

So for realistic examples of the egg symbol in Washington DC, we think of the Oval Office and Ellipse Park, for which Pierre L'Enfant drew up the plans for the oval-shaped park - in 1791. Then as you know, the Ellipse was the location of Trump's so-called "Stop the Steal" rally on January 6, 2021 ('J6'), defiling it with his seditious rotten-egg energies - just like Putin would do!

Therefore, in the spirit of history rhymes, and knowing that the American Revolution lasted from 1775 to 1783, you may wish to check out US Events of 1781 and/or US Events of 1782. Because learning from the past is always necessary for best results.

Has Justice Roberts lost his authority over the Court?

Saturn: Authority, Control, Loss, Isolation

The current scandals and corruption of the US Supreme Court do no good for America or for the American people so as a partisan for the common good, I chuckle not over the Court's current circumstances which engender and promote We the People's lack of trust in our judicial institutions. For me this is a reminder that our loss of trust is one of the primary objectives of bad actors, aka, saboteurs, working behind the scenes in order to harm our country, and apparently certain justices are in cahoots and glad for the lucrative perks.

America's Saturn: Direct then Retrograde

Now as you know, America's legal eagle planet, Saturn, was in Libra in 1776, the sign of balance, the Scales of Justice, and of Saturn's exaltation - and the US has been crowing about it ever since. But hold on a minute, because US Saturn turned retrograde (Rx) by progression in January 1997 (exact date depending on which 1776 or other foundational chart you progress). This coordinates with interference with the US Judicial System through the ginned-up scandals of President Bill Clinton and the GOP's subsequent effort to impeach him which included the prurient involvement of Republicans who now long to monitor everyone's bedroom activities - and track ladies' menstrual cycles like a gang of perv*rts! (GOP: Grand Old Perv*rts?). So our traditional privacy rights be dam*ed, what few we have left to us.

In Libra, Saturn behaves reliably and with a strong sense of duty - and he still can since Progressions are merely symbolic. In Scorpio, Saturn suggests seriousness, obstinacy, and delving deeply into difficult problems - like spinning up a fishing expedition to investigate a president of the opposite party in a glorified attempt to end his popularity, his policies, and even his presidency if possible. But with the very popular Bill Clinton, the scaliwags failed. Still, much damage was done to the system, and committing perjury had to become their main issue in order to save face.

So below is a bi-wheel showing the first moment that US Saturn paused to turn Rx by progression (inner) surrounded by a transit chart set for the same date, hour, and location. As you see, by 1997 US Saturn had progressed forward into Scorpio as far as 3Sco24 before stationing - conjunct US Progressed Hades (3:33), also Rx. This to me suggests breaking down (Hades) authority (Saturn) of the presidency, and shows connections to the Criminal Underworld. Also significant are Saturn-SN-IC, Pluto-SN, and transit Pluto conjunct MC, a prominent indicator of power plays, plus, a crisis over power and its abuse; my astro-notes are penned on for the curious reader:

2024/25: The GOP Still Craves Total and Permanent Control

Now you know of the GOP's recent and threatened actions via their tyrannical Project 2025 agenda with Election 2024 coming soon, yes? Extremist Republicans have our "rule of law" society and our traditional checks'n'balances holding on for dear life - with the November 5, 2024 Election looming large and American Democracy on the ballot in their years-long manufactured existential crisis that we've heard for years was coming to America. Now barbarian seditionists are having their shining moment and must be beaten back at the ballot box in November.

SCOTUS Faced a Saturnian Test in 2020

Meanwhile, as a practice run of sorts, in 2020, karmic Saturn arrived to announce critical conditions at the Supreme Court which we discussed here (horoscope shown), and obviously, the transit occurred during the Tr*mp regime, as we know. Plus, 2020 was The Year of Covid: illness, death, losses, separations, inflation, shortages, and more. It was kind of a re-set of society, don't you think?

American Imperialism Horoscope, circa 2024

On Monday July 1, 2024, the US Supreme Court gifted convicted felon Trump with absolute immunity for criminal acts. The time stamp I have for the announcement of SCOTUS' anti-democracy, unAmerican decision is 10:28 am edt so that's the timing used to set up a DC Horoscope that I'm sorrowfully labeling, American Imperialism:

Messenger Mercury: Star of the Show

With Virgo rising, decision planet Mercury, The Messenger, is chart-ruler and applies twice: first Mercury trines stationary Neptune which turned Rx 20H 12M later @29Pis55:55. This trine aspect shows that logic has little if any part in the Court's decision, and facts are of no consideration, only "inspiration" applies. Plus, fraudster Neptune at a critical 29th degree - so near the Aries Point - conjuncts Scheat, star of extreme misfortune.

Next, speedy Mercury opposes Pluto @1AQ22 Rx, leading a BOWL shape of planets which identifies Pluto as leader of, or advocate for, a cause or a mission. My guess is that Pluto's ongoing languish upon the "An Old Adobe Mission" degree (1AQ) sneakily whispers a tale of a proselytizing plan by the Catholic Church via corrupt US Supreme Court "Justices." Thing is, most folks know that morality cannot be enforced externally, it must be an internal process. To do otherwise is to invite a version of the Spanish Inquisition into American society, and the torture and murd*r that comes with such sadistic behavior.

In fact, the GOP Project 2025 agenda intended to purge the US government and country could be seen as a second Spanish Inquisition (1478--1834) which itself was a purge that "consolidated power in the monarchy of the unified Spanish Kingdom." Well, perhaps you remember that in May 2024, Trump said the quiet part out loud when the phrase "unified Reich" appeared in his promo material. Oops! The phrase was soon deleted.

So considering that Aquarius links to independence, freedom, and quirkiness, I suspect that the Court's brazen gift of absolute immunity is intended to satisfy a dictator-wanne-be's dream of protection from accountability, and thereby to further the long-planned global fascist movement of lawlessness - a fulfilling of Herr Adolf's dream.

All this can be partially symbolized in the American Imperialism Horoscope with its Aquarian Saturn-Uranus old order vs new order implications.

Then as noted, chart-ruler Mercury @28Can22 applies to opposition to powerful, wealthy Pluto (and US 1776 Pluto as well), so the intensity of the Court's wrong-headed, overreaching decision with its oppressive implications are made clear. Manipulation of information and the promotion of misleading ideas and theories via Mercury-Pluto are also denoted in the Horoscope of American Imperialism, and the GOP's dystopian agenda is boosted by the utilization of US Mercury-Pluto opposition of 1776 across the Cancer-Capricorn security axis. It's an aspect of total awareness, folks. And total investigation of the "unified reich"'s enemies.

Because Pluto, sometimes known as The Pope in mundane horoscopes, continues his audience-by-transit with fixed star Altair the Eagle, 'he' reminds us that the Church of Rome is, in effect, the Roman Empire in religious robes - now in black robes of the "Supreme" Court. Mars-Uranus-Algol Conjunct July 15, 2024

Please note: This is another of my forewarned is forearmed posts and may not be suitable for oversensitive readers.Yet the brazen July 1, 2024 SCOTUS immunity decision must be kept in mind going forward - by everyone.

Perhaps you remember that on the afternoon of Inauguration Day 2021, a risky Mars-Uranus Conjunction perfected @6Tau44. Considering the incendiary quality of this planetary duo, and its indications of willfulness, peril, danger, and unpredictability their 2024 conjunction on July 15th is well worth consideration.

That enraged star Algol of Medusa fame is included - plus the fact that the vicious trio conjuncts the natal goal-oriented Midheaven of Herr Trump on July 15th - is an alarming concern, for as you know, Algol is often prominent in horoscopes of criminal acts including murd*r. Not wishing, only informing.

Additionally, Mars-Uranus conjunct MC suggests potentials for "taking drastic measures; getting one's way; and/or putting a pistol to someone's head" (N. Tyl, Solar Arcs #ad) so Trump's lack accountability for criminal acts will remain in the news cycle that feeds on sensationalism - and Trump's 12th house Pluto conjunct Mars-Saturn, the death axis, reveals that harm and destruction are his natural tendencies. And now he's been given "legal" permission to follow his revenge agenda if shoe-horned again into the Venusian Oval Office:

Historic Times, Events, and Eclipses of Influence

As you see, above, newspapers spread the Good News far and wide to a desperate population exhausted by the ritual sacrifice of war. But it was April 16, 1865 before the city of Savannah, Georgia read the news.

At the Conclusion of the American Civil War, which was actually a process starting April 9, 1865 to November 6, 1865, and finally, the official proclamation by President Andrew Johnson on August 20, 1866, multiple lunar and solar eclipses manifested. Here, for your consideration, is a list of Eclipses 1865--1866 - because eclipses document historical events, and the system of Astrology adds the element of Time and Timing:

Eclipses: Uranian Wild Cards of the Universe

Here I'm emphasizing the Total 11 South Eclipse of April 25, 1865 due to its difficult themes which testify to the obvious breakdown in society that the war of massive casualties, suffering, grief, bereavement, and loss engendered. Now as you know, eclipse influences can begin as much as two weeks prior to the date of an eclipse, however, here we find that the 11 North of 1864 is actually the series in which the April 9, 1865 Surrender at Appomattox Courthouse took place with themes of suddenly changing groups, separation that brings positive results, and making greater commitments in relationships (paraphrasing B. Brady).

Additional factoids are penned on the above image for curious readers and include a Note that, as mentioned, the process of concluding the Civil War actually began under the influence of a Solar Eclipse not shown on the printed list: the 11 North of October 30, 1864 @7Sco29:22. And when a solar eclipse falls within the sign of Scorpio, karmic gains and deep insights into problems are possible yet negative qualities of Scorpio may also be activated such as vengeance, retribution, hatred, jealousy, and cruelty within receptive people. Such deeply felt tendencies can be passed down through generations of participants and can be utilized by opportunists who may or may not have Civil War ancestry. All they really need are violent tendencies against humanity, a craving for power, and greed for more and more wealth.

So perhaps we can agree that through the negative tendencies of grudge-holder D. Trump, the baser qualities of the Scorpio Eclipse which influenced the Confederate Army's Surrender at Appomattox have festered through the years and have now bubbled to the surface of society in order to Make America Grieve Again. And this, as a way of creating a period of chaos, when major shifts in government, such as fascism, are easier to force into place, as history shows. In fact, the pre-war slavery-based economic system of the South was a fascist system of brutality and feudalism. And this is what Republicans are determined to re-establish in the US - an echo of Putin's Russia.

The good news for us now?

We can realize that NOW comes our opportunity to deal more fully and fairly with these unsavory influences than we did 'back in the day'. Another potential is for seeing that the current manifestations of racism, persecution, and exploitation are facets of the Aryanism of the 1930s and 1940s that has arisen to fight another day (like the South "rising again"). Therefore, another path to a brighter future for the American people is to trudge in massive numbers to the ballot box this November 5th or mail it in -- especially since SCOTUS has now delayed their Trump immunity hearing so that a resolution of the issue probably won't be announced until at least June or after the presidential election. So it looks as if the "conservative" justices will rule for Trump against democracy and the rule of law (!) which, if successful, will set our country up for a brutal dystopian monarchy with theocratic overtones that the Pilgrim Fathers could only dream of.

And maybe you've noticed the Scarlet Letter 'A' that Trumpian lawyers and Judge Scott McAfee are trying to stamp upon Fani Willis for daring to hold Trump accountable for his election interference in Georgia. She doesn't merit such a thing but they're trying anyway by way of the expansive, intrusive look at the lady's relationships allowed by Judge McAfee.

So! Perhaps a cosmic time link should be noted since Nazism rears its ugly head regularly these days: an 11 North Eclipse occurred on December 13, 1936 @22Sagittarius (conjunct Herr Trump's natal Moon/opposite his Gemini Sun on his Nodal Axis--and conjunct the 4 South Electoral College Eclipse of December 14, 2020 which inspired Trump's election-denying Big Lie). Then an 11 South Eclipse perfected on June 8, 1937 @18Gemini--conjunct Herr T's 10th house Uranus, his guiding planet of chaos, disruption, and with the eclipse: anarchy. Since Trump wasn't born until 1946, his planets are transits to the 11 North and 11 South Eclipses of 1936 and 1937. Follow the links for events.

The last 11 North manifested on January 26, 2009 @6Aquarius (conjunct US 1776 South Node during the controversial Obama presidency which riled up the racists and opened the door to Trump). The next 11 North arrives on February 6, 2027 @11Aquarius opposing the natal 12th house Pluto = Mars-Saturn midpoint picture of D. Trump; this opposition from the god of the Underworld, signifies issues of animalism vs higher aspirations, a karmic stalemate that the orange gangster has failed to improve upon all his besotted, debauched life.

The Iroquois Confederacy Eclipse repeats

Historical Virgo Eclipse Remains Influential

As most Americans know, the framework of the US Constitution (horoscope shown in bi-wheel form) was built upon the constitutional government of the Iroquois Confederacy (5 Nations +1). Taken as a sign, a Total Solar Eclipse @5Vir22:26 of August 22, 1042 marked the beginning of the Iroquois Confederacy at what is now Victor, New York. Perhaps I'm only now realizing the significance of the eclipse after the Full Moon of February 24, 2024 @5Vir23 (DC Horoscope shown) cast a bright spotlight upon my natal Saturn, a bit of a workaholic when in Virgo.

Then within the sphere of what I term a cosmic time link, this suggests that the 10 North themes manifesting on August 22, 1142 are now activated by degree in relation to constitutional and governmental concerns of our day. 10N themes are penned on the chart, and Sabian Symbols for "6 Virgo" and "6 Pisces" are listed:

So with the US Constitution involved, the SCOTUS bench, now ruminating on significant concerns affecting the future of American democracy, has a role to play and may be influenced by 10 North themes running in the background of current events. As you know, the questions from the justices, three liberals included, raised issues that lean on the side of Trumpian Fascism and its opportunity to take power again as the court threw the US Constitution's 14th Amendment Article 3 provision 'under the bus' along with its clear intention to disqualify insurrectionists (such as Jefferson Davis and his Confederate bros) from ever holding government office again.

But is Trump an "officer?," the justices plaintively opined. Well, he took the Oath of Office, didn't he? And then created chaos and division from within the Venusian Oval Office for four long years. Duh.

Disturbingly, the logic and necessity of adding such an Amendment to the Constitution in the years after the Civil War - until President Grant signed the Amnesty Act of 1872, eluded The Bench's braintrust, as they quibbled over semantics and failed to focus on the genuine issues at hand, so they were able to ignore the more pertinent considerations of the mess we're in. And so, SC justices punted which means that Trump seems likely to stay on the ballot in Colorado and elsewhere.

And this travesty, no matter how another term of Trump in the White House would tear our country apart while he finishes the job of destroying democracy.

Now one of the more disengenuous concerns was voiced by Justice Elena Kagan: that a single state shouldn't elect the president--which is exactly what Florida did in the 2000 Election when then-Chief-Justice Rhenquist tossed the presidency to George W. Bush by stopping the state's recount. Candidate Al Gore had millions more votes, but Dubya got the plum. And you know what misguided plans that led to.

Then incidentally, legal eagle Saturn @7Pis19 on February 8th conjoined one of the Dark Moons (w'mat2) suggesting melancholy for some, secret agendas for others, Chiron in Aries sandwiched between Jupiter and Neptune which echoes the natal 2nd house trio of Herr Trump (Neptune-Chiron-Jupiter at RxS). But wait a minute: the Lunar Eclipse of March 25, 2024 @5Lib07 will land directly upon, and reveal secrets and deceptions concerning, the wanna-be dictator's natal Neptune in his 2nd house of possessions, earning ability, and values. This could be good.

On October 8, 2023, a Mars-Pluto square forms from 27Libra (conjunct South Node) to 27Capricorn (our US 1776 Pluto position) so it's basically a Mars Square Pluto transit of anger, jealousy, and revenge. Today's ousting of Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House is a good example of these angry, vengeful energies as are Trump's ugly remarks against those seeking to hold him accountable - including NY Judge Arthur Engoron who's "deciding the fate of Trump's business empire" while Trump keeps grousing and prevaricating outside the courtroom!

Must Be the Eclipse Season of The Witch Hunt

Then six days after the exact square, a 7 South Solar Eclipse arrives. This post concerns these forceful, angry energies of jealousy and revenge, and spotlights a cosmic time link or two:

The 'ring of fire' Solar Eclipse which manifests on October 14, 2023 @21Libra falls within the 7 South Saros Series, and when we want more details about any solar eclipse we can consider the initial eclipse that opened the Series (family) which, in this case, occurred on June 22, 1248 at 2:04:12 pm LMT @8Cancer. Shown below is the 1248 eclipse horoscope set for then-nonexistent Washington DC because the federal city's location upon the Earth was in existence, and because the chart has to be set for somewhere.

For historical context see 1248, a year of Emperors, Kings, Popes, Cathedrals, Knights Templar, and the Seventh Crusade (1248--1254). Meanwhile in 2023, the US is encumbered with a Catholic-infused Supreme Court behaving like kings, taking away rights, and forcing an extreme agenda on the American people. And some of them are supremely bribe-able!

Cyclical Eclipses Are Reliable 'Cosmic Time Links'

An advantage to the method of gaining more details is that the current eclipse in Venus-ruled Libra may be scrutinized through the lens of the sign its ruler of its initial eclipse, and for 7 South, that's Moon-ruled Cancer. Aries-Libra Axis: Conflict vs Cooperation

Now for more historical context, here's a view of the 7 South Solar Eclipse of August 21, 1933 a watershed year in the US (FDR) and in Europe (Herr Adolf who tried his brutality here but was rebuffed). I believe that the fact that a 7 South eclipse manifested in a Nazi-infested year is a major part of the "something" the Universe is trying to tell us - to warn us about, and you've noticed that "August 21st" is the same date of our Great American Eclipse of August 21, 2017 conjunct royal star Regulus.

This creates a cosmic time link between the themes from the 2017 solar eclipse in the 1 North Saros Series, and adds 1 North influences to the themes of 7 South; both are in Leo so Leonine traits of leadership are spotlighted such as pride, vanity, grandstanding, and pomposity, difficult traits the US continues to deal with as we ride the Trump Train. 2017 to 2021, then 2022, 2023, and so on::

Leonard Leo: Scorpio Sun-AQ Moon

Right-wing operative Leonard Leo of SCOTUS-stacking fame, and long time VP of the conservative-libertarian Federalist Society is now under investigation by DC Attorney General Brian Schwalb - see details in The Guardian, Leonard Leo Under Investigation in Washington DC.

Up until now, Mr. Leo's birth date has been elusive but has apparently turned up thanks to master astrologer Marjorie Orr. Other astrologers may have it, too, but Marjorie's Star4Cast website is where I discovered it first, however, her source is unknown to me.

Expanding SCOTUS Could Save Democracy - Why Won’t Biden Risk It? - clip

Let's Save Democracy in America!

Expanding the Supreme Court could dilute the bizarro reich-wing 'handmaiden' leanings of a largely Catholic SCOTUS whose decisions of late have lost the Court credibility among a majority of We the People. Adjusting the size of The Bench has been done before and is warranted now. Here's recent commentary concerning the issue from progressive broadcaster and author Thom Hartmann:

Then for a little cosmic input, a previous post displays the SCOTUS 1790 horoscope (first session), and here from July 2nd just past is SCOTUS decisions: Law and Domination, a post concerning the successful power grab by the US Supreme Court via their February 24, 1803 decision famously known as Marbury v Madison (1803 horoscope shown), a decision which shoved the unelected branch of the US government above the US Congress and far above The Will of The People in what should be our democratic Republic.

So with the weekend upon us, here's a famous quote that's been in the sidebar of SO'W for years. It's from Justice Louis D. Brandeis was born in Louisville, Kentucky on November 13, 1856 with Sun in Scorpio and Moon in Gemini, and served on The Bench from 1916 to 1939:

"We can have democracy in this country, or we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of a few, but we can't have both."

And we don't have both.

SCOTUS decisions: Law and Domination

When the Supreme Court decided Marbury v. Madison on February 24, 1803 in favor of William Marbury, the legislative branch of government that we now call 'SCOTUS' (Supreme Court of the United States) flexed its muscles and established itself as being above the US Congress as the final judge of constitutionality with the power to overturn acts of Congress. The decision defined the constitutionality of the Judiciary Act of 1789 and, as the dual horoscopes show, reveal an "urge to impose one's will on others" (Sun = Pluto-NN). Intellectual domination is their thing along with "taking over leadership" (Moon-Mars = Ascendant) via Marbury v Madison.

In addition, there are other interesting planetary factors in the two horoscopes, below. Upper right is the decision's Prenatal Eclipse ('PE') in which the decision took place a mere 3 days later (3 North Saros Series, the PE Series of 9/11/01 and of the CIA), and lower left set for the speculative hour of 10:00 am LMT, a Horoscope of the Marbury v Madison decision with 21Tau14 rising, a degree notable for its appearance later in this post, plus, the Moon-Mars midpoint as mentioned, above:

Saturn: Planet of Law, Government, and Karma

Now back in a very busy 2020, we discussed how the June 13, 2020 Mars-Neptune Conjunction landed directly upon the SCOTUS 1st session's Saturn, planet of law, authority, structures, systems, control, lessons, tasks, management, consolidation, and karma. Shown is the 1st session's horoscope of February 1, 1790 with Saturn @20Pis55. So knowing that transit Saturn is now in Pisces, we see that the SCOTUS 1790 Saturn will experience a Saturn Return in early 2025. More about this in a future post.

We also see that nebulous Neptune by transit, the watery planet of erosion, dissolution, deception, inspiration, mysticism, visions, fraud, and disappointment, has spread itself all over the SCOTUS Saturn in Pisces as recently as late 2021, which indicates several possibilities such as disintegrating traditions and/or structures, authority figures (ex: justices) who are not as honest as they should be, the promotion of high ideals and ethics, or strange or misguided notions.

Now you know that we've seen many of these potentials express via "conservative" justices like Thomas and Alito who, as members of a group of Roman Catholic justices, are having a grand old time legislating from the bench. Of course, this is exactly what the Supreme Court is not meant to do but Marbury v Madison seemingly puffed up the entity's self-image to overblown ego status.

Anyway, if you're like me, when SCOTUS repealed Roe in 2022, my first thought was that the Vatican had finally had its anti-abortion way in the US despite what the majority of Americans prefer (never mind us, we just live here). If you wish, check out the Roe v Wade Overturned Horoscope (June 24, 2022) with the repeal's North Node of destiny @21Taurus--conjunct the North Node in the Vatican City State 1929 Horoscope. Seems mighty clear to me: the repeal of Roe was timed by the Vatican City's Nodal Return. A coincidence? Not to me it isn't, considering the church's long-held stance on abortion.

Plus, there's another cosmic time link in play around these issues: radical Uranus, planet of disruption, chaos, separation, and zealotry, hit the very same 21 Taurus degree on June 30, 2023, the day the most recent SCOTUS decisions were "handed down" from on-high.

So let's close this fussy post with a few potentials of the Uranus/North-Node duo quoting from Munkasey's Hegelian Dialectic form of analysis (any, all, or none may apply especially with erratic Uranus involved):

Thesis: The changes which accompany new efforts to alter the direction of events; alliances which follow revolution or unexpected changes in leadership; help from others who assist with modernization activities.

Antithesis: Revolution for the effecting of popular changes; business changes which evolve with society; treaties for modernizing facilities which benefit another more; a society that does not appreciate modernizing (sounds like regressive Republicans, so-called "conservatives," and radical magas).

Well, we may disagree on this, but in the US "conservative" justices on the SCOTUS bench have 'altered the direction of events', all right, with the hierarchy of the Vatican pulling strings from "on-high." After all, one of the many roles powerful Pluto can play is "the pope."

Perhaps you remember President Biden's pseudo-SOTU Address to a pared-down Congress on April 28, 2021 with a transiting North Node-Mida$ conjunction in force. At the time, I had labeled Biden's 2021 address as pseudo because it was delivered prior to the end of his first year in office. However, the address was delivered at the invitation of then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, as per tradition.

An annual event, there was a need to hear from our Commander-in-Chief at that time due to all the trauma and drama in society, economic and medical concerns, plus, turmoil that we're still attempting to navigate in 2023 - with the albatross of anti-democracy Republicans tied to our collective neck - and the specter of violence being perpetrated across the land and creating the unsafe environment in Congress as Democrats attempt to serve next to neo-fascist far-right Republicans toting guns and wearing AR-15 pins on their lapels in place of the usual US flag pins. Symbolic much?

So below is an unmarked Horoscope of 2023 SOTU February 7, 2023 9:00 pm est Washington DC. Note that the 2023 SOTU address' Air-Earth Sun AQ-Moon Virgo blend of conscious and unconscious energies is shared natally by Gertrude Stein, SCOTUS, and our 9th President William H. Major Planetary Cycles Operative Since 2020

So all the while, knocking at America's door are societal shifts and perils within - timed in part by the January 2020 Saturn-Pluto Conjunction @23Capricorn and the December 2020 Jupiter-Saturn Conjunction @00AQ29 conjunct US Inaugural Sun.

Such societal shifts are also described astrologically by two heavyweight transits: the primal cause US Pluto Return and transit Neptune in shady Pisces opposing US 1776 Neptune in fact-based Virgo. The first transit: transformation via Pluto's destructuring function down to bare bones then rebuilding, while the second is a generational clash of ideologies (Virgo-Pisces) with persecutions and prejudices coming to the Neptunian surface to be dealt with, hopefully more honestly than ever before - with racism and misygyny topping the national menu of strong-armed paternalism vs a caring democracy. Here we find the vicious 'slave patrol' mindset embedded within various police departments (though thankfully not all).

So it must be obvious that America's foreign and domestic enemies have long studied which wedge issues will divide We the People most disruptively for their undermining purposes intended to topple the US government from global leadership, taking democracy down with it.

And so We the People remain within the throes of sustained assaults from enemies within and without, not the least of which is an insurrectionist-infested Republican House of Representatives now in control of the government they're desperate to overthrow in favor of fascist-style authoritarianism. And as Julia Ioffe stated in her informative Frontline interview 2 or 3 days ago, to Putin, Trump looks like a "wrecking ball." Yep, the orange marauder is the Kremlin's wrecking ball, a fact that many Americans have realized all along.

Speaking of threats, a Chinese spy balloon has been flying over Montana for the last few days - or is it only a weather balloon? Either way, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is scheduled to visit China soon. Hmm. Well, we do have IBMs stored in Montana but so far no word on a direct threat, just surveillance it seems, and the Biden administration has told the Chinese government to cut it out if they're spying. Of interest astrologically is that, among other activities and concepts, both Neptune and Pluto are associated with spying and surveillance, infiltration, theft, and criminal activities such as organized crime.

Here's an important segment from a recent Thom Hartmann broadcast:

You know, on Aril 20, 2023 the 7 North Fascism Rising Solar Eclipse cycle repeats, and since eclipse cycles and historical cycles resonate one with the other (an eclipse often bringing around similar events - this, from 1933 to 2023) the disruptive Uranian 'cosmic blink' event repeating in our day is a major heads-up in the forewarned-is-forearmed department for those who prefer democracy.

So here's a view of the April 2023 Eclipse Horoscope at a critical 29th degree: 7 North and the Chained Woman. And I suspect we might all agree that with the Supreme Court's recent Handmaidish ruling, the chaining of the feminine half of the population has already begun.

DC Horoscope: Roe v Wade Overturned

Rampant Paternalism Off-The-Chain Chains Women

Strange as it may seem, the SCOTUS decision overturning Roe v Wade was announced June 24, 2022 (approximate time 10:05 am edt) under the variable influences of an unaspected Mercury in its own sign of Gemini (10th house) with a rounded-up degree for Mercury's Sabian Symbol hinting at hidden meanings (such as wealthy Plutocrats' fear of reparation for past offenses - note that Mercury, planet of children and babies, conjuncts asteroid Hebe, the servant). Its unaspected condition means that none of the other energies and actors (ex: liberal Justices) in the chart received input from the planet of thought processes and decisions, nor gave it, and a maverick quality is evident. Obviously, the ideological split between the nine Justices is indicated. And symbolically, there's this:

Mercury at "12 Gemini" = "A Black Slave-Girl Demands Her Rights of Her Mistress" with 'tofu planet' Mercury conjunct asteroid MIDAS. This symbol refers, of course, to America's oldest flaw from the Jamestown Colony era and the importation of Africans into slavery and the fact that the 'white supremacy' argument still works as a wedge issue to keep us divided and conquered so that the power elite can continue to exploit at will. Turmoil in US economic systems, both then and now, are implied along with the old 'states rights' vs federal government quarrels and divisions.

Now there are other suggestions of financial issues in the chart as well: Sun-Jupiter = MC, The Goal; chart-ruler Sun applies once to square moneybags Jupiter in the 8th house of Corporatism, Big Business, Death, Taxes, and the Occult; the square suggests overblown or exaggerated intellect, the overvaluing of professionsal status and social position, trying to impress others - wonder who? - and financial implications such as increased wealth. Which share holders will benefit from the overturn decision I care not to consider at this early date, plus, polls indicate that a majority of Americans see the Dobbs decision as political and to this I would add, as part of the global authoritarian movement to sabotage American democracy via our Justice System (Neptune-Pluto = ASC):

As you see, with its typical timing potential, there's a YOD pattern of sorts (crisis; turning point) - or if we don't count this as a YOD, it's simply the energies of the Neptune-Pluto sextile expressing at the Leo Ascendant, the decision itself, which looks to be of an egotistical nature (Leo). Someone is being, or will be, used as a tool for other people's selfish interests--as is Donald Trump since his natal Mars @26Leo is also apex of the Neptune-Pluto sextile. I refer you to the Mercury-Hebe conjunction above. Rapists, pedophiles, and incestual family members must be rejoicing about now. And it only took a lawless 6-3 Supreme Court majority of "conservatives" to fulfill their degraded dream! Now they act off-the-chain, too.

It's Strong-Armed Paternalism in America

Previously, we've discussed on SO'W the Neptune-Pluto pair and its associations with paternalism, criminal elements, drug abuse, drug and sex trafficking, the supernatural, and/or unseen realms which suggests a bizarre spirituality such as Dominionism and religious cults, one of which has long been active in Washington DC: The Family ('The Family' is also described by 1st house Cupido conjunct royal Regulus; it's an organization that is all about seizing political power, Jesus Christ need not apply.

So I'd have to say that this particular American crisis may be described as paternalism and criminality at a turning point which was quickly grasped by dystopian-style authoritarians as their opportunity to enforce radical reforms (Uranus-NN = MC: sudden realization of a joint goal) through which they are determined to stop forward advancement of society - under cover of a "pro-life" stance (a principle honesty held by some folks, but not by these black-robed social meddlers).

As noted, the financial damage to society in America's early days of slavery and plantation life was a thorny financial issue, and so will be the damage to society now by the overturning of Roe v Wade, aka, the Dobbs decision. And that's not counting the civil rights mess and legal disruptions that SCOTUS has only made worse by turning back society's clock to vigilantism and citizens pitted against citizens - really? Can we expect horses and chuck wagons to appear next?

Then one might be tempted to think that potential reparation policies along with other social safety net spending (for abortion, contraception, medical care, to feed hungry children, among other things) have more than a little to do with the overturn of a settled law of almost 50 years' standing. Add to this the extreme turmoil and suffering about to result, societal harm that can be laid on the doorstep of the US Supreme Court, and which should scald the heads of the Republican presidents (from both Bushes to Trump) who shoved Thomas, Alito, Kavanaugh, Gorsuch, and Barrett onto The Bench from where they brazenly ignore the will of The People - not to except Chief Justice John Roberts who could do much better himself.

History Rhymes If Not Repeats: Sabotage 1605/2022

Based primarily on my personal opinion that the anti-societal June 24, 2022 SCOTUS decision to overturn Roe v Wade (6-3) is part of an ongoing coup attempt against America by foreign and domestic forces of sabotage and sedition, I'm considering the highhanded SCOTUS decision of June 2022 to be a Catholic usurpation of the established government of the United States (and of our justice system), and am linking it with the Gunpowder Plot of 1605, aka, the Jesuit Treason, intended to usurp Protestant (anti-Catholic, though a son of Mary Queen of Scots) King James I from the throne and destroy Parliament (tracks here with the US Congress).

Now as you know, this was a failed coup and assassination attempt against the King by Jesuits set to peak and blow up on the night of November 5, 1605, and famously 'remembered' through the centuries as Guy Fawkes Day, named for the conspirator found guarding the explosives. Of course, other plotters were involved including the soon-to-be-executed Robert Catesby and Thomas Percy; more details are found in a Timeline World History Documentary The Real Story of Guy Fawkes: Gunpowder and Treason. A major succession crisis was avoided by the failure of the assassination plot.

Curiously, an interesting cosmic link is that on June 19, 1566 (OS), King James I was born under the influence of a major T-square, unaware of its dynamic energies as he must have been - yet still affected by it. The cosmic echo occurred as this midpoint picture of 1566 was activated above our heads: 'The big picture demands a certain course of action which must be followed, very little option to do otherwise' (N. Tyl) of 1993 Uranus-Neptune = 2017 Pluto. Yes, in 2017 stealthy Pluto activated 'global government' potentials of the 1993 Uranus-Neptune Conjunction, the first year of the Trump regime - at '18 Capricorn': POLITICAL POWER and, negatively, "smug or strong-armed paternalism" (Jones). My belief is that the utterly immoral Trump, who fancies himself a great thespian, was chosen to 'act as Pluto' in this cosmic mystery play, this contrived political theater production. Then on June 24, 2022, Catholic Justices on the SCOTUS bench enforced their version of "strong-armed paternalism" upon the female population of America. Upon men such regressive reforms will affect them in ways they cannot yet appreciate except for the more misogynist, Neanderthal-esque among them, the ruffians, criminals, and experienced rapists and pedophiles.

(Please note that obviously, there are other historical parallels and cosmic links between the 1605 event and the authoritarian Trump coup attempt of January 6, 2021, his attempt to stay in power by subverting democracy in America, so you may wish to compare horoscopes of these and other similar events.)

Stacking the SCOTUS Bench with Catholic Justices

Important to today's topic is the fact that the 'maga mob' insurrection of January 2021 was preceded by the enforced placement of a Catholic trio of Justices Kavanaugh, Gorsuch, and Barrett on the Supreme Court bench during the Trump "administration" - in preparation - and thus tilting the Court toward the Vatican's traditional stance against abortion. Unfortunately, the overturning of Roe v Wade can now open the gates to even more regressive laws and the repeal of legal protections which will further undermine our nation and our long-established civil and other rights of women, minorities, and other citizens. However, Chief Justice Roberts is said to have dissent against yesterday's regressive decision and is apparently mindful of further changes which may overturn rights of the people, rights which offend Catholic sensibilities - and apparently offend the Justices' Vatican bosses. (How strong or effective Roberts' dissent will prove to be, I do not know - or was it only for effect?)

So in today's lingo, we find that hidden forces of regression and strong-armed paternalism are forcefully imposing handmaidism across America, the old 'barefoot in the kitchen' model for women from previous centuries, with rape-at-will privileges made legal for men. Therefore, a lack of karmic progress in America is now indicated so our struggle for rights must be re-engaged with equal, no, with increased, fervor. The financial implications of striking down Roe v Wade are vast and disruption in US household budgets will be encompassing coming atop the damage done to society by the ongoing pandemic, plus, the institution of vigilantism in various states will cause social upheaval and will raise levels of violence and crime - under cover of arresting those who commit, ask for, and/or enable abortions. Making crime 'legal' in order to "fight crime," how Orwellian of them! (Feeling targeted yet, you are?)

Meanwhile, most of these complex topics fall well beyond the scope of this post (which cannot become an e-book!) including the major sabotage we know as the Civil War, a fantasy-prone Mercury-Neptune affair of sedition.

Thanks to Politico, we can read the 'SCOTUS Initial Draft' written by Justice Samuel Alito here, marked as "circulated February 10, 2022" but leaked late in the evening of May 2, 2022. As you know, Republicans are busy making the controversy all about the leak rather than the Draft's extremist content. An inconvenient leak with bad timing? Or a run-it-up-the-flagpole event intended to prepare the ground for the Court's actual decision? Bizarrely, Alito cites in his draft a relic of a jurist, Sir Matthew Hale (my 9th cousin 12 times removed, geni dot com tells me) who is known for many things, among them: sentencing women to death for witchcraft. His book was published in 1736 and identifies him as a paternalistic no-such-thing-as-marital-rape kinda guy - the stuff that handmaidenism is made of, and this echoes the regressive beliefs of justice Barrett. Of course, this reveals Theocratic leanings as well.

Related is a view of the natal horoscope of Clarence Thomas which was published on SO'W in March 2022 upon the occasion of his hospitalization as timed by a Full Moon @27Vir40 which perfected between his natal Mars-Neptune midpoint and suggested illness and infection.

As for the long-term drive by ideologues, Evangelicals, Catholics, and whomever to strike down Roe v Wade and women's ability to direct their own health care (with input from their medical doctors and significant others), we may wish to consider the time frame of September-October 1991 of his Nomination, Hearings, and Confirmation to the US Supreme Court, available on Wikipedia with dates and details. Nominated on July 1, 1991 by President George H. W. Bush (who was pro-choice as was his wife Barbara) and confirmed on October 11, 1991 (52-48), justice Thomas is an interesting if curious study. For the purpose, there exists a bio page concerning Clarence Thomas where we find that he received a BA degree from the College of the Holy Cross, a private Jesuit arts college. Then it was on to Yale.

Now you may disagree, but the man's religious leanings seem significant as revealed in part by the 11 South Eclipse Horoscope's Midheaven ('MC'; The Goal) degree of 17 Leo and its Sabian Symbol, "A Volunteer Church Choir --", plus, the revealing Sabian Symbol of the 11 South Eclipse itself: "19 Cancer" = "A Priest Performing a Marriage Ceremony." Well, peep-eye Vatican!

Meanwhile, during his 1991 confirmation hearings, Mr. Thomas lied about discussing abortion issues when he was in law school because, as he testified, he didn't remember engaging on such topics because he was too busy being married and having a job. Of course, this was a tactic to avoid expressing his true opinions which followed the Bork model of hiding one's real intent until confirmed and seated on The Bench, a radical reactionary ploy, now plainly shown by the Alito draft. Then as you know, Mr. Alito also hid his views on abortion during his confirmation hearings as did Kavanaugh, Gorsuch, and handmaiden Barrett; hence, the proposed expansion of the number of SCOTUS justices is a necessity if we wish to squelch Republican lawlessness concerning these social issues and stop on a federal level America's descent into legal madness and the destruction of our court systems. Both men are extreme ideologues.

Then as you know, another complication is Clarence's wife Ginni Thomas who is intimately involved in current events via her surreptious support of Trump's Jan 6th Coup Attempt and the ongoing 'Big Lie' that fraudulent Neptune favors. One assumes that she shares her husband's religious views - if religious is what they are. Yet you and I know that plutonian power grabbing is always a major focus of the Republican Party, now turned into a gang of scofflaws and thugs under Trumpism.

Now all of Clarence Thomas' confirmation proceedings occurred under the difficult influences of the July 11, 1991 11 South Total Solar Eclipse @18Can58:59, a major 'cosmic blink' (aka, a 'wild card of the Universe') and above you see the Eclipse Horoscope set for Washington DC with eclipse themes penned on the chart and also typed below, along with the date and degree of its next occurrence, plus, 11 South's initial eclipse in Cancer (family matters!). Significant is chart-ruler Mars (@27Leo42 in 10th house) which makes no applying aspects to other planets, but even though Venus moves faster than Mars, by degree I'm calling it as 'Mars conjunct Venus' (which conjuncts royal Regulus: success if revenge is avoided) due to the fact that 'new alliances' and 'energetic legal matters' can be a result of a Venus-Mars Conjunction. And also because of the relationship, partner, romantic, sexual connotations of the pair, some of which relate to Anita Hill's information concerning the degraded behavior of Clarence Thomas in their previous work place, and the planetary pair's link to baby making activities which ties in with Roe v Wade.

11 South Themes: 'need for sudden reforms; old ideas/methods fail and new systems are required to deal with events that occur; any blocks could be violently or tragically removed' (B. Brady). The initial 11 South Eclipse manifested on June 14, 1360 (OS) @00Can48, a Cardinal World Point, with young people's planet, Mercury @19Cancer (conjunct the 1991 Eclipse degree), plus, a forceful, often brutal Mars-Pluto conjunction in Aries (suitable for rapists of all ages).

We can expect the next 11 South Eclipse on August 2, 2027 @10Leo, the position of Mr. Trump's natal 'Pluto = Mars-Saturn' midpoint picture of brutality and death in his 12th house of Hospitals and the Unconscious. If he's still ticking by then.

Then as you see in the above chart, Neptune conjuncts fixed star Vega which suggests the involvement of 'occult societies', and this seems to be another hint of religious, spiritualist, or supernatural involvement, added to Thomas' connection to the Jesuits and the Catholic Church. To summarize: bizarre, over-the-top zealotry, emotion-based religiosity, and in Politics the radical reactionary determination to shove America into Theocracy resembling the Taliban's sharia law (aka, handmaidism) should be on every American's radar now - but especially in the November Midterm Elections, and again in November 2024.

So! Telling lies to advance what radical reactionaries zealously believe is a 'higher cause' began big time under Ronald Reagan (circa 1980) although Republican fascist leanings may be seen as far back as the Goldwater era (1960); yet Barry Goldwater actually supported abortion rights, or seemingly did as a Libertarian.

Yet one of the scarier things about the Alito draft (which is 'only' a draft) is that it apparently represents the flowering into public view of the GOP's radical zealotry which of course includes a major streak of racism and the promotion of other regressive proposals that white 'supremacists' and others favor as they work to push the US back into the 1950s and 1850s. I fuss because the safety and privacy of every American is at stake!

So in closing, let's note that in the eclipse horoscope, above, rising Pluto Rx 17Sco38 conjuncts the natal Chiron of Clarence Thomas and their blending suggests that he may have been under the sway of forces such as Plutocracy, primal violence, exploitation, and a variety of other -isms including racism, a card that Thomas used against opponents who challenged his SCOTUS confirmation, if memory serves (I remember watching the hearings back in the day). My suspicion is that he was counseled to add the 'race card' to his Bork-inspired tactic of hiding his true beliefs during his confirmation hearing in order to finagle himself onto The Bench.

And thanks to a vote of 52-48, he squeaked by.
