The 2016 Republican Social Security Time Bomb - Thom Hartmann video

Since social programs such as Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid were created there has been a political faction in America determined to destroy them. The following analysis by progressive broadcaster and author Thom Hartmann alerts the American people to the hidden time bomb engineered at the start of the current congressional session so that just before Election Day 2016 the traditional method of adjusting between the two Social Security funds (regular and disability) will be prevented from occurring in the usual way.

And with Ayn Rand's survival of the fittest mode of ridding the world of "useless eaters" and those deemed unfit to live as one of their prime objectives, it seems that the SS funding meant to aid the disabled, blind, and the neediest children is destined for extinction if the Republicans in Congress finally have their way. Plus, as Thom points out here, the brigands will sell the budgetary disaster as something that 'just happened' even though they purposefully put the time bomb in place themselves and set the fuse to blow just prior to Election Day 2016.

I had forgotten all about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted by the UN General Assembly on December 10, 1948 at Palais de Chaillot, Paris, France and promoted as a result of World War II. However, my suspicious nature wonders if such a border-dissolving passport was part of the longstanding global governance plan as are the world wars and revolutions--and the war being fomented in America and globally right now before our eyes; note how often we're hearing the term "race war" in violence-promoting news reports):

First Vote 2016, Venus, and the Election of a US President

In September 2008 in her Visual Astrology Newsletter, Bernadette Brady published an intriguing article titled Standing in the Radiance of Venus: A Visual Astrology view of the US presidential election and its self-imposed union with Venus using the 8-year cycle of planet Venus as a predictive guide. With the 2016 campaign season already percolating thanks to interested billionaires and an overeager corporate media industry (using it to divert from other matters), let's take a peek at Election Day November 8, 2016 and focus primarily on the position and condition of Venus who radiates the candidate and ruling party she favors with success, or empowers the challenger she favors, while appearing in her cosmic role as either Morning Star or Evening Star.

Venus Must Have Her Way

Now as Morning Star, Venus favors the incumbent candidate or ruling party (even if 2 terms--8 years--have been served by one president)--aka, the "one who wears the crown" as it was termed in the olden days of Mundane Astrology. The Morning Star status of Venus occurs in November (2nd through 8th, when presidential elections are held) when the lady is in the early degrees of Libra, one of the signs Venus rules. Since our elections are on a 4-year cycle, Venus is Evening Star in alternate elections since Venus returns to her same position every 8 years. As Evening Star her position is the mid-to-later degrees of Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius, sign of the stranger or foreigner---someone different or 'other' who acts as the challenger to the throne -- such as a non-politician, or an Independent (neither Republican nor Democrat).

But in her Evening Star role, Venus bestows favor upon the incumbent party's rival as if she's wielding influence in the court of a king and 'the crown' may be given to the opponent of the king who rules. Yet there have been two notable exceptions to this predictive guide--the successful election of Democrat Franklin Roosevelt in the election of 1932 when he whisked away 'the crown' from the head of one-term Republican Hoover, and the election of Republican Ronald Reagan in 1980 who finagled 'the crown' from one-term Democrat Jimmy Carter. Both elections occurred with Venus as Morning Star yet upsets were somehow allowed due in part to both candidates' tendencies to hastily give favors to others and/or make advantageous backroom deals (Iran hostages for Reagan; for Hoover, his tide of popularity had turned due to economics after 1929.) Let's not use the word 'cheating' though I will say that cheating isn't winning, it's stealing. Plus, a fed up American public makes a difference as well--if we show up and vote.

So setting aside the two exceptions of 1932 and 1980 while remembering that 'dirty tricks' are typically used by power elites to skew election results their way, we look ahead to a horoscope of Election Day 2016 in the form of a symbolic chart of the Dixville Notch, New Hampshire 'first vote' in America which traditionally is cast between 12:00 am and 12:01 am by the small yet representative population of Dixville Notch:

Hour of the Sun; Venus out-of-bounds (OOBs); Venus rules 3rd and 10th houses; ASC 1Vir00 with royal Regulus rising; MC (The Goal) @24Tau08 with golden Midas Rx and trickster Pan Rx in Gemini, 10th h; 3rd house Sun @16Sco13 conjunct voter Mercury which has just crossed the IC (one minute of voting and it's over!); 6th house Moon @20AQ47...'21AQ' = "A Woman Disappointed and Disillusioned" may be significant to our 2016 Venusian election tale.

As you see, Venus @25Sag13 has sashayed past austere (conservative) Saturn in mid-Sagittarius in the 4th house of Domestic Security, the Foundation of the Matter, and she glances back as the Evening Star and radiates her favor upon conservative Saturn, planet of law, government, business--and the US Congress (lawmakers, senators, and such.) Plus, evaluating attracter Venus is disposited by political and banking planet Jupiter in 2nd house of Money and Values. Additionally, Venus and Jupiter are in a Mutual Reception of friendliness with Jupiter prominent as lead planet of a Locomotive pattern (high powered executive ability and a drive to success.) Jupiter approaches US natal Saturn (14Lib48) so we may expect a conservative slant to the proceedings on Election Day 2016 with optimist Jupiter bringing US Saturn hard work structured toward reaching goals, an increase of responsibility, a deeper awareness of needed changes, and a chance to turn ideas and ideals into reality as a long-held ambition is achieved.

For the hidden manipulator, wealthy Pluto @15Cap22 here he's posited in the 5th house of Speculation, Risk-Taking, and Creative Pursuits along with activist Mars, the warrior, @29Cap14, a critical 29th degree which has a revealing Sabian Symbol considering foreign investors set freer than ever by SCOTUS' Citizens United ruling of 2010: "Directors of a Large Firm Meet in Secret Conference." For certain they do! This could easily be seen as a reference to plutocrats, transnational bankers, and even the pope (Pluto) meddling secretly from on high and utilizing testy actor Mars to instigate his schemes to control outcomes in business, law, and government (Capricorn.) Plus, with Mercury in big business Scorpio, we know that Mars and Pluto have a lot to say about what Mercury plans to do.

Mercury: the Voter, the Ballot, and our Thinking Processes

As chart-ruler and planet of voters and ballot-casting, Mercury @23Sco10 is near the Sun (6S56) and may not see issues as objectively as needed. Mercury rises on November 8th with starry Ras Alhague with its imperative to 'create balance' so we may assume that American voters may attempt balance of our political system in our traditional way--but switching parties in the White House lest our country lean too far from 'center' after 8 years of a Democratic White House. Venus in Sagittarius supports a change to someone 'different' though this may describe several of the varied 2016 candidates--even Donald Trump, if his nontraditional campaign style gets him all the way to November 8, 2016 (ed: Senator Bernie Sanders is also 'someone different'.) Plus, one of the asteroids of transition and change, Proserpina, is rising on the Mutable (thus, changeable) Virgoan horizon so a different style and/or political party seems to be exactly what Dixville Notch voters prefer in 2016...and the rest of America as well.

As for chart-ruler Mercury's major applying aspects, there are none but there is a square from the Moon (the public) in 6th house (Military, Police, Civil Service) in America's natal Moon sign, Aquarius. Moon-Mercury square indicates blockage between head (logic) and heart (emotions) which is a time-tested political tactic to confuse the public. This horoscope leans toward Fixed-Earth energies and we think of stubborn, possessive Taurus, sign of the Bull of Wall Street which seems to favor GOP candidates more than progressive Democrats (not that Hillary Clinton is a genuine progressive! That would be Senator Bernie Sanders), and of course, what planet rules greedy Taurus?

Even for all that, it is tempting to say that the cyclical Venus Effect on US Presidential Election 2016 must obviously favor a female victor, unless dirty tricks and arm-twisting backroom deals skew results. But as you see, Venus here plays the role of Evening Star and points toward a change of ruling party in the White House in 2016, a portent which can be satisfied by a Republican victor--and doubly so with one such as former CEO Carly Fiorina, a lady Republican and corporatist.

Yet if a Fiorina victory is too disconcerting for you (and hard to believe), there is at least one other possibility shown for "the other" to be favored by Venus in the person of Senator Marco Rubio for on November 8, 2016 the 'social ladder climber' power asteroid Hidalgo @00AQ03 conjoins the January 20, 2017 US Inaugural Sun, mundane significator of The President. This factor supports the potential for a Republican--perhaps a member of Congress--taking the White House throne in 2016 since the 'king star' Regulus @00Virgo rises and is the starry representative of the Capitol Building in L'Enfant's original plan for the construction of Washington DC's *Federal Triangle (see below.) Regulus may also signify a candidate who has held office on Capitol Hill--even VP Biden fulfills that role.

Actually, the Cycle of Venus timing 'the other' as victor in 2016 possibly may be satisfied by someone like Senator Bernie Sanders, a self-described socialist of a democratic persuasion. Is he different enough for Venus with his political views quite apart from establishment politicians--those we may call "the old guard" as denoted by status quo Saturn? Or will it take a change of political party to satisfy Lady Venus?

Update Oct 15th: after watching the Oct 13th Democratic debate, the performance of Hillary Clinton now identifies her as one who could possibly satisfy 'the other' imperative of Venus in Sagittarius as "someone different" (as pundits are saying)--the first female president of the United States. Yet I dread the Clinton baggage she'd carry for the Republicans would never shut up about it and let the issues of the American people take precedence over partisan politics. Republicans are so very very tiresome and Democrats only somewhat better for both have played large roles in the weakening of our democracy and the undermining of our Constitution.

Now if these considerations seem arbitrary or too iffy for you, perhaps it's because you know that many more events will occur between today (July 23, 2015) and Election 2016 and circumstances will change. On the cosmic list are Solar and Lunar Eclipses, and New and Full Moons which can affect matters in similar fashion to 'wild card' eclipses. Or does Astrology have nothing valuable to offer Politics as far as you're concerned?

Be that as it may, Election Day 2016 Astrology and Politics will again be a topic here on Stars Over Washington in the future and my hope is that you'll think to return to SO'W soon in case new information turns up or new perspectives become necessary to discuss. Note that Mr. Norquist is the midst of a Saturn Return and that his natal Jupiter in Virgo (planet of money, corporations, funding, investment, growth, politicians, preachers, teachers, mentors, military generals, etc) conjoins fixed star Denebola, keywords: to go against society.

Yet as the older of the two parties, Democrats also play Saturnian roles in US politics while playing generous Jupiter when it comes to Social Safety Net Programs, and promoting investment, development, and growth. Naturally, humankind needs the concepts of both Jupiter and Saturn to balance one another and thus, moderation is achieved. Too bad restriction and investment are so often used as cynical talking points to stall opponents' advancement while keeping any progress whatsoever from moving ahead which might benefit the American people. jc

The Horoscope of Donald Trump Part 2

Part 2: The Indiscreet, Blustering Mr. Trump

Yesterday we discussed the natal horoscope and planets of 2016 presidential candidate Donald Trump who is refusing to drop out of the race as top Republicans request. He says he will run as an Independent if he doesn't get the Republican nomination and after looking at his natal chart, and progressions including his Solar Arcs for Election Day 2016, I can see how he might have an impression of victory. After all, his huge! Jupiterian personality and links to royal star Regulus make all things seem possible, even taking over the highest office in the land and the Commander-in-Chief status that goes with it. And given his interest in the occult, perhaps Mr. Trump practices Astrology or has astrological insights to guide his decisions.

Today in Part 2, let's consider Mr. Trump's Sun Gemini-Moon Sagittarius personality blend with a word or two concerning his Pre-Natal Eclipse Saros Series themes and timings. But first...

Here is NOT (video was removed) Donald Trump responding to the McCain controversy (that he created) on This Week ABC--what the GOP can finally react to in full-throated condemnation in an attempt to squelch the inconvenient comments, candidacy, and public popularity of Mr. T:

With Air-Fire combinations a 'live wire' quality is emphasized along with zealous communications that impress or intimidate all within earshot. Living at a fast pace, Mr. Trump gets carried away with his own rhetoric and is impressed by his own eloquence. Clever, witty, and charismatic, he reveals a contagious joie de vivre while coming across as a hot air balloon (or, a windbag) to many, a result of his communication style as a mentally active visionary under the influence of an irrational Mercury-Neptune square (see yesterday's post, linked above). Mr. Trump is an impatient and restless fellow who tends toward Utopian idealism (as do most US politicians, if truth be told.)

An extrovert who 'knows exactly what is good for' America, Mr. Trump prefers broad horizons yet tends to be emotionally immature and seemingly superficial. Sun Gem-Moon Sag adds certain tendencies as well such as flamboyance, outspokenness, independence, and spontaneity. An inquisitive 'eternal student' and "positive thinking" promoter, Trump insists on being true to himself. Not mentioned in yesterday's post is his natal Moon-Saturn inconjunct (150 degrees) showing that deep insecurity and feelings of inferiority lurk behind his bravado, probably instilled in him is childhood. In adulthood, social service is often used to mitigate this particular inconjunct which also contains feelings of guilt. More positively, its energies allow him to specialize--in his case, in financial deal-making and self-promotion. A desire to 'be where the action is' partially accounts for his presidential aspirations.

Having a talent for inspiring others, the vivid Mr. Trump possesses the nature of a used car salesman which some have called carnival barker, snake oil salesman, huckster, or something similar. Yet, even for Mr. Trump, motive matters and his interest in performing a social service may be more genuine than his inconvenient candidacy and ill-considered remarks will allow. He wants to discuss weighty matters with intellectuals yet his aggressive (Mars in egoistic Leo rising) communication style may be what keeps him within the superficial category in the opinion of most people.

Yet, as pundits say, he has 'tapped into something' that the public wants to hear--ye olde speaking truth to power comes readily to my Flower Power Generation mind. But as potential Trump voters may notice, cooperation and successful teamwork become more difficult to sustain as time goes by when it comes to working with Donald Trump and his extreme judgmental attitude allows no second chances for the hapless 'losers' he dislikes. If Trump fans want an autocratic dictator in the White House, one who likes to fire people but more flamboyantly than a Romney, they have such a choice with Donald Trump.

As for his fact vs fiction issues (underpinned by a Mercury-Neptune square of distortion), the highly sensitive (Moon-Saturn inconjunct) Mr. Trump will not or cannot take responsibility for his effect on others no matter how negative they may be. He's never asked God for forgiveness, he says, and apparently has yet to feel the need to do so. In his expansive private world where Communion involves mere crackers, no one can be surprised at his lack of humility before his Maker. And that's a major negative for evangelical voters!

Yet Donald Trump has not always slept upon a bed of roses. For one thing, there are cyclic issues to deal with via the 18.6-year occurrence of his Pre-Natal (PE) Solar Eclipse which is also his Syzygy Moon (last lunation prior to birth--he's an 'eclipse baby' which is often the case with notable public figures who lead eventful lives.)

His PE degree @8Gem48 conjoins America's natal Uranus (8:55), our totem planet of revolution, rebellion, freedom, independence, war, and sudden or shocking events. This hints at a lack of adaptability on Trump's part to the basic principles that our nation was founded upon and denotes quirkiness and unexpected events pending if he should enter the presidency--and perhaps a disruption of such Uranus-Neptune (*Enlightenment) principles. Falling within the 2 Old North Saros Series, his PE themes include difficult potentials such as unfortunate news concerning relationships and alliances, separations, and broken unions and partnerships. But no matter how glum things seem, taking fast action can bring positive results (paraphrasing Brady's Predictive Astrology.) This is Prince William's PE for he was born as another 'eclipse baby' at manifestation in 1982.

The Horoscope of Donald Trump June 14, 1946

Donald Trump, 2016 candidate and natural communicator, was born a small child at Jamaica Hospital in Queens, New York on June 14, 1946 at 10:54 am, with royal star Regulus rising over his 29Leo57 Ascendant along with warrior planet Mars in showy Leo.

Born during a Hour of Jupiter, planet of money, corporatism, and proselytizing, Mr. Trump's horoscope shows a stationary Jupiter about to turn Direct in 3 hours 11 minutes @17Lib27:07 (enlarge chart to read my notes if you wish--no time today to fully discuss the chart so perhaps I shall return another day to complete my notes for you!) Natal Jupiter is within one degree of America's Secondary Progressed (SP) Mars, the warrior, which turned retrograde by progression in Summer 2006. Washington's military over-expansion 'broke' it.

Quick Notes: Chart-ruler = Sun, and the only applying aspect by natal Sun in communicating, commerce-loving Gemini is a sextile to natal Mars in Sun-ruled Leo and this egoistic indicator points to one who is provocative, quarrelsome, and who may have a chip on his shoulder. An avid sports fan, this aspect describes an integral part of Trump's solar nature (being the closest aspect to his Sun) and underscores that he is a warrior always ready--or spoiling--for a fight. We've seen this tendency regularly from Mr. Trump through the years and no less so during his current bid for the Republican nomination for president as he stands up for his beliefs and lets the chips fall wherever. For while he's playing 'the hero' for America he is possibly a red herring candidate on behalf of another politician, party, or group of backers and we see that disruptive radical Uranus @17Gem53 (10th house) acts as the leading planet of a Bowl pattern.

Doh! If you enlarge the chart please pardon my 'indiscret' which should read 'indiscreet' for his Mercury-Neptune square!

A Bowl pattern or shape emphasizes hemispheric influences with the rim of Mr. Trump's Bowl the opposition between Uranus and the Moon @21Sag12 conjunct South Node, a karmic indicator of bad or awkward timing and previous abuse or misuse of wealth, power, and position. However, his up-and-down financial achievements are seen by a Sun-North Node conjunction on the other end of the Nodal Axis. Yet there is disruptive planet of shock and separation, Uranus, conjunct natal Sun which gives a maverick quality to his personality. Some see him as an original, inventive, genius and I unwillingly admit that he is--as long as he's following his solar direction and not letting the emotional difficulties found at Moon-SN take over his presentation. But what are the chances?

And yes, early troubles with parents are suggested by the Sun-NN, Moon-SN combination and even the popularity-inducing Sun-NN duo can cause problems if expansion, self-promotion, and over promising are carried too far. As you know, depletion of resources and bankruptcy have resulted for this boasting billionaire.

So with speech maker Mercury @8Can51 out-of-bounds (like some of his remarks criticizing others) we turn attention to his Mercury-Neptune square which is separating and thus unconscious. Perhaps Mr. Trump doesn't realize his Mercurial opinions often spring from his unconscious mind and spotlight a distortion of reality along with the square's tendency toward indiscretion and unintentional unreliability. Mercury square Neptune tends to identify an escape artist and he's usually able to escape the problems he brings on himself. And of course, the speculator-grand-schemer pair of Jupiter and Neptune are in a money house, the 2nd of Values and Earning Power, along with Chiron which some say relates to money and wealth, too. As a deal maker, his Mercury in savvy, business minded Cancer shouts his prowess at every opportunity and provides us with boastful touts of The Art of the Deal, his bestselling book.

Then with shady Pisces on the 8th cusp of Big Finance, Shared Resources, Credit and Debt, we find the magic touch of the Jupiter-Neptune influencing him as he speculates in real estate and the stock market--a perfect combination for what is essentially a 'used car salesman' type of personality, his Mercury-Neptune aspect included.

Yes, Donald Trump is actually a fascinating person to study even though I attempted to ignore his 2016 candidacy until being recently asked about his horoscope and his chances by a couple of people. There are several more chart factors of interest yet as I said, no time for all that now. But I have taken a quick peek at his planetary links to the November 8, 2016 chart and to my surprise, there are significant connections and possibilities for him.

But since this weekend he really 'stepped in it' by criticizing a Republican war hero, Senator John McCain, so this indiscretion may be the final over-the-line moment for the 2016 candidacy of Mr. Donald Trump who has made several careers out of breaking taboos and committing faux-pas no-nos. A non-server passing judgment on POW John McCain? How dare he? Yet the media continues to blab almost exclusively about 'Donald Trump'...ad nauseum, imho.

Well, he makes good copy since there's little he won't dare to say, consciously or unconsciously, and so we must see if his campaign survives until 2016 Election Day given his blurts and wild accusations, a karmic self-undoing. If he continues, I suppose his candidacy will be worth at least one more blog post, won't it?

Arghh! Once More the MSM Touts the Will Biden Run for President? Memo

Now let's step off the 'new world order' ledge long enough to take a detached peek at the Water-Earth Sun Scorpio-Moon Taurus personality blend of Joe Biden and see if its potentials ring true based on the public persona that VP Biden has projected during these many years of political activity. If not, his Moon @00Tau59 may denote an earlier birth time with an "I AM the people" natal Moon in late Aries, ruled by activist Mars and denoting a workaholic crusader with a mission temperament when paired with the secretive, mystery-loving, hidden control, big business sign of Scorpio with its forceful Mars-Pluto vibes.

This blend contains the typical practical-and-supportive vibes of a Water-Earth combination though it may have a chauvinistic streak. Talents include a natural understanding of financial and economic realities, along with full dedication to loved ones.

So! I just noticed while typing how easy it is to get off the topic of Joe Biden and onto other political actors!
