Kristol's 1993 memo to GOP: block health care reform

Perhaps you'd like to read Bill Kristol's 1993 Memo Calling for GOP to Block Health Care Reform for the gist of their current tactics.

Dated Dec 2, 1993, Kristol's memo was sent out on a day that the Sun highlighted the transiting Jupiter/Neptune midpoint. Let's look at a few astrological factors to get a flavor of the day using Tyl and Ebertin and remembering that any, all, or none may apply - these are midpoint pictures for the entire day and do not depend on the memo's exact time of sending or of being read:

Jupiter/Neptune = Sun: potentially misguided states; feeling the spirit; trying to capture the essence of things; following a dream; irresponsibility; lack of self-control; squandering physical strength; deceiving or being deceived.

Mars/NN = Sun: good cooperation dynamics; comradeship; the will to unite with others.

Sun/Pluto = NN: lack of adaptability; fateful associations; very special new attachments; meeting the powerful.

Mars/Saturn = Uranus: intense drive; breaking loose; gaining independence through struggle; extraordinary and unusual powers of resistance; ability to give as well as take under provocation; applying brute force; a nervous test of strength; an accident; intervention by a Higher Power; separation or death.

Dec 2, 1993 was part of the Great Conjunction of Uranus and Neptune in Capricorn, the conjunction which marks the birth chart of the New World Order (I use the chart for Conj #3: Oct 24, 1993.)

By Dec 2, 1993 they had moved on one degree to 19Cap+, along with the US experiencing a Pallas Return 27AQ+ - so Pallas was conjunct US natal Moon (the people) as they were on July 4, 1776....Moon conjunct Pallas in Aquarius.

Pallas indicates strategy and wisdom which in the case of Mr. Kristol, Newt Gingrich, and the rest of the GOP, were in use against us.

So something tells me that we-the-people's piddly little health care concerns are not Washington's main issues in this matter for 2009 - just as in 1993.

Guidance on the July 21, 2009 Solar Eclipse '29can'

If it's guidance or info you're needing concerning the July 21, 2009 Solar Eclipse at 29 Cancer, you can do no better than Julie Demboski's excellent analysis with her practical suggestions included.

Naturally I don't 'do' advice on this blog (or on any other!) because I tend to spend time using the lens of Astrology to look at History and at Politics and politicians, especially in the DC area of the world - and they ain't listenin'.

Yet it must be mentioned that Tuesday evening's Solar Eclipse will fall barely two degrees from President Obama's natal Mercury (2Leo20), which is how he says things, his style of thinking and planning, and his orating abilities. His Mercury is opposite natal Jupiter, too, so his Mercury/Jupiter opposition will be triggered.

That Mercury relates to his children, I prefer to pass over, if you don't mind. That the Eclipse has slightly over a 2-degree orb to natal Mercury may be good - the Eclipse energy is less intense that way and more objectivity can be present - particularly to one as self-aware as Mr. Obama.

Wing-footed-and-helmeted Mercury is also linked to travel, commerce, and trade, so the president's schedule and the content of his speeches will be of particular note this week of a rather difficult Eclipse Series, the 11 South, with its 'systems break down; new methods are needed' vibe for the next 6 months of the 11 South season.

The Eclipse opposes Inauguration 2009's Sun and Mercury Rx (00AQ+), so we may expect diverse opinions and people running off into various directions while changing their minds.

In fact, the president's thinking on Inauguration Day 2009 is subject to switches and quarrels and answers are difficult to come by. His speeches may not be as well-received as he would like, although recent ones seem to have lots of applause involved...we'll see if that response continues.

So will Obama's Health Care Reform bill be presentable by Congress' August recess? It may go either way, but one thing I know based on the opponents of the bill and their current talking points: stalling for decades is hardly a "rush" to reform.

The richer classes of America must share some little bit of their largesse, or America may fall. If that occurs, we'll know that the elite's priorities and loyalties lie elsewhere than upon our sovereign shores. (Some of us know this already, but apparently it must be demonstrated to be fully appreciated - and then it will be too late for the middle class, much later for our poorer classes. It is America's failure that we have so many people under the poverty line at this late date.)

But of course even without Astrology, we already know that systems of all sorts are breaking down or are under tremendous stress, so let's see what a White House chocked full of Democrats has in mind, shall we? For America, falling upon one's own resources may be one theme of this Eclipse - survival mode is another tinge of possibility. Shouts of 'protectionism' may soon follow as usual - how tiresome!

'Free trade' America's hemorrghage

Well, I must agree with Thom Hartmann and say that "free trade" is the hemorrhaging of America: Obama Drinks Friedman's Kool-Aid is on the money.

For years I've complained about the outsourcing of US jobs. Now there are few left to outsource. We don't manufacture enough, groused I, and we need what we produce, then we can export the rest.

Guess that makes me something of a protectionist; the caution is the tone of the voices that attempt to make all protectionisms into a bad thing. But even a deer in the woods knows that when you're wounded, you lay low and heal by tending to yourself, not by acting as if all is well and you can keep on keepin' on as before.

In Astrology this might be described as 'South Node' behavior, unconscious behavior that was successfully defensive when it was first devised but no longer answers the challenges of the present time...the old 'beating your head against a brick wall and expecting a peak experience rather than a huge headache' tactic - easy to fall back on, but difficult to see clearly due to its unconscious nature. Yet this is what must be done - problems must be viewed clearly, faced, and dealt with more directly and honestly than South Node (neurotic) behavior and points of view can allow.

America has now (or will in 2009, if you use her Gemini Rising chart) a Secondary Progressed Full Moon ('Sec Moon'), a timing mechanism based on our nation's founding on July 4, 1776 and which shows that we've expanded as far in the world as we can this cycle, and must pay attention to the natural cycles of initiated energies vs regrouping and reforming energies. We are in the less-popular yet necessary 'reform/regroup' stage of the 28-to-30-year cycle now. That gives America approximately 14 to 15 years to reconnoiter.

Meanwhile, larger forces are at play: the 'global economy' is a devised system that gives Worldwide Collapse more than a toehold - it's been given a license to occur. Those who have promoted and worked for a one-world-government through the decades are now revealed as anti-social if not downright psychopathic toward their fellowman whom they disdain; they will crash entire world systems because they think they will rise as our global masters.

Yet to my southern-roots way of thinking, who in their right minds would trust people to lead who must first destroy all that stands in their paths to (what is only) worldly glory?

Previously I have noted here my belief that population control is part of the power elite agenda. That the unwashed masses have greater power in numbers is well known to those who would rule over all, and lower numbers of rabble make them feel...cozier...within their lairs of power, more certain of their ultimate victory.

Yet to me it would seem a hollow victory, for this world is temporary and all their gold and gems will not avail them in the higher realms that all shall face in turn. Above man's laws have they set themselves. But it's God's Laws they shall not escape.

For those who wish, I speak of Natural Laws which plutonian puppetmasters imagine themselves above as if a Fountain of Youth session is scheduled for their every weekend get-away, and the best cabalers may be cloned for future use. Gross.

Perhaps a spacious bunk on the ISS awaits certain irreplaceable honchos and their families in case the Mayan prophecies come true and the Earth rebels.

(Hence the big race to service and stock the International Space Station, if indeed the ISS is the only one. NASA is one place where our mega-monies have gone the last 4 decades+...and the loving preparations are not made for thee or me.)

But I admit: this is only a flight of fancy, a notion - a hunch stirred with a dash of suspicion about the sort of human nature that would step upon its grandmother's throat if it meant a seat on a golden lifeboat made necessary by decades of assault and plunder of the planet, activities that have lead to an alarming speed-up of what are actually natural cycles of our planet.

So! Shall we protect America in reality instead of just alarming people into mooing herds with magenta threat level alerts?

Yes, I know that the 'Homeland Security' threat level colors have been or are being retired from service: ahh, the power of ridicule and satire - my favorites!

Corporations Are People: natal chart May 10, 1886

It is with great hope that I pass on a link to Thom Hartmann's The Deciding Moment: The Theft of Human Rights in case the 'corporations as people' question is as important to you as it is to me in how America has and will proceed.

It was on the afternoon of May 10, 1886 that a sleight-of-hand insertion was added into the record by court reporter, J. C. Bancroft Davis, implying that the 'personhood of corporations' question - in this particular case, Santa Clara County v. Southern Pacific Railroad Company, an industry for which Mr. Davis and other participants had worked and shilled as attorneys - was a part of the Supreme Court's decision handed down that day on taxation of railroad properties in Santa Clara County, California.

The 'corporations are people' issue was not part of the decision at all, but from there the plot thickens.

Hiding behind the curtain was Justice Field, a 'grand stander' type, a zealot, who had big presidential aspirations and dreamed that his favorite employers, the railroad titans, would soon fork over the dough necessary to fund his White House bid. Yes, The Mystery of 1886 makes for an interesting saga, so prop up your dogs and check out Mr. Hartmann's excellent article of 12 pp, if you haven't.

Plus, Wikipedia has an entry on the Santa Clara County v. Southern Pacific Railroad Company case if you're interested; it mentions that, although Mr. Davis' obiter dictum statement (Latin for 'said by the way') has become part of American corporate law, it is 'an unprecedented extension of constitutional rights to corporations.'

Since an obiter dictum has no legal precedential value, why do we continue pretending it does? is my question.

Also, here's the Wiki bio of Bancroft Davis for your consideration. He served in many capacities, and 'court reporter' was then on par with the Justices, and was not the lower position of mere stenographer that it is today.

You see, in writing the Fourteenth Amendment in 1868 (wa-a-ay behind the curtain on Capitol Hill), Senator Roscoe Conkling had inserted the word 'person' where the correct legal phrase 'natural person' should have been to describe just who would receive the protections of the amendment, his word a bomb which even now keeps exploding on behalf of corporate titans and their offshore account balances.

I bother because of the extreme importance to the US and to the world of Davis' insertion: for example, between 1908 and 1914, SCOTUS struck down minimum wage, child labor, and workman's compensation laws and utility regulations while citing 'corporate personhood' - in all, 288 suits decided against American workers and consumers.

May 10, 1886: the 'Corporations Are People' birth chart

Only knowing "afternoon" narrows it down for chart calculation, but doesn't tell us the exact time of the Supreme Court decision on taxing railroad properties with its comments placed therein by Bancroft Davis - possibly in collusion with Justice Field who had presidential ambitions, and using the previous 'unexploded bomb' substituted by former Senator Roscoe Conkling and former Representative John A. Bingham (both railroad lawyers) on the Senate Committee that wrote the Fourteenth Amendment which all this relates to - I shall use a chart set for '2:53 pm pst' in 'San Jose' California, the seat of Santa Clara County.

One may even say that this chart isn't the natal chart of Corporations Are People since the day/hour were merely part of an ongoing legal process. Yet the horoscope maps a moment in time describing the day and proceedings in question so here are a few chart details to consider for 2:53 pm pst, San Jose, CA with World Points at the angles of the chart...

ASC 00Lib01, Jupiter 26Vir17 Rx, Uranus 3Lib59 Rx, so we have a midpoint picture...

Jupiter/Uranus = ASC: an ability to shape one's environment according to one's own ideas; success; fortunate twists in the way things transpire; knowing the best will happen.

Jupiter/Uranus = lucky breaks or breakthroughs. (But it doesn't mean they have to be above-board.)

'2:53 pm' on that day was during a Saturn Hour, good for court proceedings and for consolidation of plans. And Saturn that afternoon 5Can25 was conjunct US natal Jupiter...Saturn to Jupiter is a transit indicating a period of time when economic prospects dry up or are restricted in some way. (Guess the industrial titans fixed that.) One becomes more serious about such issues, so progress is possible as better organization and focus assure future progress and a solid foundation may be laid.

Considering how lucrative this sleight-of-hand by 1880s Republicans has been for American corporatism and the industrial Robber Barons and their spawn--both biological and ideological, I'd say that that was some foundation.

USA's 'Franklin' natal chart: Uranus in Gemini rising

There is much to say on behalf of the 'Franklin' natal chart for America with 9 Gemini 17 rising along with Uranus, planet of disruption, rebellion, individualism, and independence. The archetype for Uranus is one of freedom issues and in Astrology having Uranus rising indicates an ability to cope and deal with whatever comes up.

Plato's 'ideal form' - searching for the ideal - is part of our view of ourselves and with this chart, there it is in black and white: Uranus rising in Gemini, sign of Youth, Communications, and messenger of The Good News.

The Uranian Ideal is part of America's best nation ever! myth - or truism, if you're a believer, and of de Tocqueville's 'individualism' archetype for our nation which he described for Europe's edification after his 1831/32 tour.

Yet for best expression, Uranus always needs a handy and willing Saturn (form; realism), and fortunate America was born at a time of a Saturn/Uranus trine...Uranian ideals put into the form of America's freedom documents and expressed through authority (Saturn.) We're an inventive country of patents, too!

The Franklin chart indicates a nation born during an Hour of Venus; out-of-bounds are: Venus, Mars, and Pluto in 9th house of Overseas - Pluto in 9th house is perhaps a picture of America's overseas puppet-masters who continue their throttling and plundering of our nation, and hidden not as well lately by a wimpy Congress who gave up its governmental oversight function years ago.

(All versions of the US natal chart have the same OOBs planets. With this post I attempt to address primarily some of the planetary factors which differ in the 2:21 am chart.)

Legend has it that astrologer and almanac-printer Benjamin Franklin (who would have been unaware of Pluto's and Neptune's existences) insisted that the signing of the Declaration of Independence take place at this early hour of July 4, 1776 (Philadelphia, PA) yet Franklin could not have yet known of Uranus, discovered in 1781. If so, it would seem that the Universe knew more about such things than mortal man, and I have no qualms with that idea. Synchronicity!

And if Ben did check the celestial picture for this earthly event (he would certainly have been aware of Astrology's As Above, So Below precept) he was engaging in Electional Astrology, of which he and his fellow Freemasons were fully in favor of using for such an important undertaking. They would have known that the resultant horoscope would inscribe a 'stamp' or imprint of a certain character upon the nation forevermore.

So here I investigate the Gemini Rising (or as I think of it, the Franklin chart) of America with Moon at Midheaven - public status (Mc) as ruled by/of/for the people (Moon) which is at least what America purports to be in the world at this most visible point in any chart - the Midheaven, the Goal/Aspiration Point.

Moon conjunct MC favors entertainers, politicians and other thespians. Yes, you may see 'Hollywood' there if you look closely! Hollywood has long been involved in the US government's propaganda activities which promote the 'rule of the people' myth.

The midpoint of Moon/Pluto (propaganda; public relations campaigns triggering our deepest emotions and reigning needs) conjuncts US natal South Node (SN), an unconscious point in any chart which relates to the past, and to neuroses...and which has now been stimulated into action by the Solar Eclipse of Jan 26, 2009, the 'New President' Eclipse or Ring of Fire Eclipse, if you prefer.

And thus presidential candidate Barack Obama represented himself as a vehicle of 'change', 'hope', and improvement with the Jan 26 Eclipse (11 North Series) having a lofty flavor of 'changing groups with which you mix through ideas or travel' (Brady's Predictive Astrology.)

Well, so far the president has certainly improved his own position in life, hasn't he? Ours? In process, they say.

So in the 2:21 am chart, some of America's natal planets change degrees (besides the Moon) and are one degree earlier in the zodiac (2:21 am vs 5:10 pm of the Sibly version): Sun 12Can44, Venus 2Can21, and Mars 20Gem57 in 1st house of Self, and thus rising. Mars in 1st house is a perfect descriptor for our constant 'find or make an enemy if there isn't one' mindset. And of course, Mars squares Neptune in 5th house, indicating confused motivations, deluded - or inspired - men, and/or activism in the ideological sphere.

Naturally using '2:21 am' puts planets in different houses (departments of life) than the Sibly or other versions show, along with new ASC/DESC amd MC/IC axes.

And the Franklin chart gives a Finger of God (aka a YOD) pattern which the other charts don't show - Moon/Chiron = Neptune, in 5th house of Creative Pursuits, Romance, Risk-Taking, Gambling, and Children.

Moon/Chiron contacts are the 'perceptual shield is open' pairing, and a sextile between them indicates an understanding of how emotions (Moon) help or hinder spiritual progress. There is innate healing ability once maturity is reached, but one must understand that healing is possible before it can occur.

Moon sextile Chiron creates deep compassion for the needs of others, and for years we've been told that Americans perform more charitable giving than any other nation. The current financial collapse of Bush-Cheney's 2008, designed and manufactured as I personally believe it to be, has interfered with this charitable giving function, but there's hope that more and more Americans will return to our natural way of being. And it's now needed more than ever - for ourselves and our brethren.

If politically they call this, protectionism, it's from their own selfish motives, certainly not on behalf of our common good. The law of karma - the Bible's 'reap what you sow' principle - might say to us, 'share, don't hoard when others are in need'!

Plus, Moon at Midheaven instantly lifts up the image of Moon-based things such as homeland, security at home, and apple pie...mama! No other version of America's natal chart does this, unless I am much mistaken. (Let me know if you know of one.)

Now the apex planet in the YOD configuration is Neptune 22Vir25 in 5th house, showing us the place we should 'pick up the thread' of what must be done to serve Universal Principles, and idealistic Neptune loves such concepts.

Yet Neptune in Virgo is in its detriment which indicates a generation whose imaginative faculties are thwarted by adverse material circumstances. Are you feelin' it now?

This placement heralded the Great Depression of the 1930s yet simultaneously harkens forward to our current circumstances which, to my way of thinking, originally ramped up years ago through out-sourcing of US jobs to foreign markets - and CEOs and world bankers decided this course of action. Did they think it would never lead to the current dwindled opportunities for the ordinary guy and gal in the US? I think they understood very well the undermining course for America upon which they embarked.

And remember that the proof will be in the results of their actions - forget the Astrology of it, if you like. (Astrology is only a language and a tool for understanding ourselves and the events in the real world - and elite manipulators *use Astrology, too, especially for timing their actions.)

So...US natal Neptune is in the sign of Work = unstable working conditions - which have made possible our much-touted job-switching abilities and 'upwardly mobile' status now impaired by a the globalists' bottom line and larger agenda for world control (Pluto in Cap's rule from afar: US n Pluto in 9th house.)

Inspired and/or charitable work is also indicated by Neptune in Virgo, and practical Virgo is one of the archetypes of nurturing along with Ceres, an asteroid that is placed in 10th house (see: Pluto/Chiron 8Pis51 in 10th house) so along with 'nurturing' comes one of plutocracy's favorite duo, Pluto and Chiron by midpoint, where their powers synergize into something more forceful than they can affect separately.

On another level: plutocrats own grains and other commodities - they control our food sources, and monkey with our security (Ceres) from their lairs far away.

Investigating the YOD further

In his masterful book, Dynamics of Aspect Analysis, Bil Tierney gives info on apex Neptune in a YOD pattern as those who remain in their emotional ivory towers when it comes to compassion (just send along a check?) and view the harshness of the real world form a comforting distance. Sounds like America's former 'we're insulated by wide oceans' delusion which the attacks of 9/11 destroyed. Neptune's tendency toward irrational fears have thus been exploited - by our own government.

Apex Neptune in a YOD must undergo constant adjustments emotionally and psychologically in order to adapt to the environment - in this case, Virgo = the work environment, and hard-to-diagnose health conditions (they've certainly confused us there with chemical additives and metals that interrupt endocrine systems; greater structure and definition is need in the realm of the sextiled planets - Moon in AQ, Chiron in Aries, sign of pioneering and body-part ruler of the head.

The above comments on the Moon/Chiron apply as well.

Apex Neptune's inner adjustments may start out hidden and subtle, not becoming apparent for years, and when they do, the YOD-like fork in the road intuition becomes very strong in the public character and these issues must be dealt with (see this blog's sidebar message!)

Yet as always with a YOD ('special task; crisis; major adjustment') the best course is often to allow things to play out naturally without stressing about the issues. But I think the current social tinkerers and chaos-creators make this particularly difficult because interfering with the natural course of history is their delight and their modus operandi.

Naomi Klein defines it as 'Shock Doctrine capitalism' of wars, famines, genocides, natural disasters ill-prepared for, plus, market bubbles (Neptune) that suddenly burst and make a mint for certain players (I'm thinking of You, Goldman-Sachs) - those who have set up win-win situations for themselves at the people's expense, and devil take the hindmost (where the people huddle together as the Neptunian masses.

What should be the good part of this apex Neptune is that once the fork is reached, a correct application of the energy is to then flow with the new direction that is indicated by the 'fork in the road'...universal unity of life, devotion to an emotional ideal, to unearthly beauty, and to ultimate love are guiding forces. Yet 'the blind leading the blind' may seem more the acting archetype at this juncture, as one-world-government plans play upon and manipulate us through the concept of univeral unity!

That there is much spiritual flavor this YOD pattern I have no doubt, for America is known for her deep emotional responses to religion (quite embarrassing at times to those of other cultures.) Yes, we-the-people need healing on the deepest of levels and that is the spiritual level, but not with flowery emotions and fake gurus.

Well, with transiting Pluto again at 1Cap+, which you see by clicking the image to enlarge the chart with its many chicken-scratch notations (transits are written outside the chart and highlighted in pink for 12:04 pm edt today) - so the dragon of wealth, prestige, and power is re-entering the 8th house of the Franklin chart.

This perhaps times 2009's financial sleights-of-hand more perfectly than other US charts, but perhaps you disagree. (There are things to be said for each version, as you know!) 'Financial sleights-of-hand' are part of 2009 as the year of the Great Conjunction of the speculation pair, Jupiter and Neptune.

So I'll close for now with another difference in this particular chart which affects the Mc/Ic axis - click to enlarge and you'll see the midpoint of Jupiter/Neptune at Ic, the Foundation of any chart and also The Drain...which 'boomerangs' its energy toward the 10th cusp (Mc) and tells us something about the Founding and the Founders of America, and we-the-people, and which I believe resounds to our current circumstances through the universe's 'the end is in the beginning' principle so well-described by Astrology...
