the Fed expected to cut rates today

With moneybags Jupiter conjunct America's natal Ascendant (Sibly, 5:10 pm lmt), the Fed may be announcing a rate cut at 2:15 pm edt in an attempt to bolster the soft US economy and give the worsening credit crunch room to improve.

Here are the midpoint pictures for 2:15 pm today in Washington, two of which have the Virgo Sun as focal point:

Mercury/Saturn = Sun: changes of residence (like when houses are foreclosed upon?); getting down to work; knowing what's got to be done; discipline pays off; making a go of it.

Venus/Jupiter = MC: wonderment at feelings of success (really? Well, Venus and Jupiter are associated with money so perhaps this refers to the wheeler dealers who had to know this subprime market mess was coming--and who never really lose. It's true that the Venus/Jupiter duo is also linked to wastefulness yet maybe this midpoint picture refers to the rate cut--if Bernanke announces it--and that it will improve matters);

NN/MC = Pluto: organizing power; attaining success in partnerships by use of force; leadership; success; great achievements shared with others. (Tyl; Ebertin.)

Venus today has returned to her degree on 9/11/01 which is also the Sun/Moon degree of the Mother of All Eclipses of Aug 11, 1999...the one foretold by Nostradmus centuries ago.

Some have termed this the King of Terror Eclipse in their attempt to ferret out the seer's (astrologer's!) idiomatique phrases of olde, but Nicholas Campion calls it the King of Alarm Eclipse. All three titles describe what the world has seen since 1999.

Personally I believe that the 1999 Eclipse is described in Revelation as the time the angels let go the winds of war--which is also what the world has seen. Disagree if you like. But that's just the way I roll.

Sep 17: US Constitution's Saturn Return 2007

The post just written by your reluctant astrologer for Jude's Threshold has a sprinking of Astrology, karma, progressed charts, and neurosis, but is primarily about the US Constitution's Saturn Return today and which handily coincided with Bush's Rose Garden announcement of Judge Mukasey as his nominee for Attorney General.

Seems the few remaining DOJ employees are simply rattling around in that big old building and could use a pile o' perking up with some clear direction and a show of honest character. (If you've read this blog before you'll know I'm clutching at straws with the honest character part, more's the pity.)

So we have a nominee announced, and we have a Saturn Return--and Saturn rules Capricorn, sign of politics, business, and law. Saturn signifies lawyers, in fact, and lower court judges.

Coincidence? Synchronicity? Or electional goings-on by Sacred Geometry types? In this case the word electional refers to timing an event by looking at horoscopes for the most propitious time (and not to our near-sham elections of political types.)

Greenspan Faults Bush Over Spending and I fault him over everything but the kitchen sink. And it's been a little on the gurgly side. Maybe Earth's polar axis really is in process of morphing.

So is Greenspin a flip-flopper? Or simply and very humanely responding to criticism of his handling of interest rate resets during his Fed tenure? The writing of this book one presumes has been in the cauldron for some time. Is its release Sep 2007 the usual cleverly-timed publisher's ploy?

The Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Pluto on Dec 11 (2:34 pm est White House) will begin another cycle of the powerful pair. Their conj at 28Sag24 occurs in the 8th house of the Dec 11 chart along with Mercury 16Sag09 and the Sun 19Sag23, Sun squaring Sep 11's Solar Eclipse. And 28Sag24 is opposite the Moon's position on 9/11/01.

Jup/Pluto = Moon: desire to bring about social improvements and aspirations; ability to influence the masses through an emotional appeal; establishing one's position with a 'gut feel'; emotional conviction guides a new start (Tyl; Ebertin.)

Perhaps it's time for the GOP and their secret shot-callers--the Plutonians--to begin a new phase of their agenda. I say this because the R-Party's natal chart has an unaspected Pluto just doin' his own thang with his power-behind-the-throne bad self.

Jup/Pluto = Sun: doing well with all resources; keeping things in one's own grip; the successful use of strong personality power; creation of magical effects.

OR...Jupiter = the GOP, and Pluto = whoever really pulls the strings. Pluto is out-of-bounds in the Republican Party's natal chart, y'know.

On Dec 11, Pluto may represent the world monetary types--the Rothschilds and Rockefellers who call the shots, bankroll wars and coups, and generally keep things under their control 'unbeknownst' to the rest of us.

Putin's Neptunian dissolve

As Neptune continues meeting with Vladimir Putin's natal North Node at IC (endings; partings), Putin has used the dissolving action of Neptune in order to name his own successor as was done for him in 1999.

One of the stronger transits to Putin's natal chart has been powerful, transformative Pluto (26Sag18 today) conjunct his natal Mars 26Sag31 in 2nd house of earning ability and values.

The transit of Pluto to Mars is obviously fraught with control issues, and relationships with males in the environment can be intensely competitive at this time, even dangerous. (Yet one supposes that Danger is Vladdie's middle name.)

Pluto/Mars contacts cause a seeking of greater control, not less, so this dissolution to pick a successor may not be all Putin has up his sleeve. There is an increase in stamina and determination, whatever the direction of one's efforts, and a single-minded approach which can be risky if revenge or anger are involved--and they usually are with the zealously fanatic Mars/Pluto combination on the scene.

Transit Mars (21Gem48 today, conj US n Mars) will soon oppose Putin's natal Mars, so there will be someone diametrically opposed to his actions and methods who will gum up the works within the next few days...opposition exact Sep 21/22.

Mars oppo Mars is the "butting head against the proverbial stone wall" transit when shows of aggression are met with equally determined force from others. Making headway is blocked or delayed--until perhaps enemies are taken out of the picture in some way.

But not to fret! for expansive Jupiter will soon be at his natal Mars (first week of Dec 07) so his Achilles Heel will be a feeling of over-confidence with an over-estimation of his abilities. Otherwise, his plans will be successful if wisdom and moderation are used. And December may bring him a luxurious vacation...such is Jupiter's traveling effect upon Mars.

Sept 11's Solar Eclipse occurred in Putin's natal 10th house of Career and Public Status so the "bringing to the surface issues to do with paperwork and communications" flavor of this Series (9 New South) may have made a shake-up of his government at this time a necessary distraction from the Russian president's past actions.

And I like your method of looking to the next degree for clues about what we may want to prepare for. To me it seems to be all process, aka e-volution. A smidge like using Tarot cards, isn't it? Preparation is a useful thing--and it's good stewardship as well. Aids us in slowing down and smelling the green tea simmering.

Most often I tend to look at the degree before (unconscious), the degree itself, and the next, for 'how it will get on' info. One degree is always involved in becoming another, isn't it? And the snake eats its tail once again.

Plus, I agree with you, Lynda, on Elsie Wheeler--a fascinating lady! You have a lot of articles to read--and that's just your blog--Good Show!
