Space Weather News for Oct. 24, 2007:
ERUPTING COMET: Astronomers in Japan and Europe report that Comet 17P/Holmes is undergoing a spectacular eruption. The 17th-magnitude comet has brightened by a factor of five hundred thousand or more during the past 24 hours becoming a naked eye object in the evening sky. This may signify a breakup of the comet's core or a rich vein of ice suddenly exposed to sunlight--no one knows.
Look for a yellow 2.5th-magnitude fuzzball in the constellation Perseus after sunset. ("2.5th magnitude" means a little dimmer than the stars of the Big Dipper.) At present the comet looks more like a star than a comet; it does not have a discernable tail, but it might grow one as the outburst continues.

The constellation of Perseus the Prince is a member of the royal family and orbits around the North Pole. He was known by the Hebrews as Parash, a horseman, or sometimes as Ham, son of Noah. In Egypt he was called, Khem, the young black son of Cepheus the king.
The brightest star in Perseus is Mirfak (Algenib) and is associated with the young warrior who is proud of his strength, his hunting and fighting abilities, and of his trophy. People with Mirfak linked to planets in their natal charts are: Muhammed Ali, Martin Luther King, Jr, Margaret Thatcher, and Henry Ford.
So Mirfak represents young male energy that may not listen to the wisdom of others or take caution. There is a flavor of overestimating one's mental or physical abilities...guess you could say a flame-out may result as we're seeing with Comet Holmes! So Washington and the Pentagon--beware, because even you exalted types can't change the As Above, So Below nature of the world.

The Taurus-Scorpio axis is the values/money axis, of course, but also relates to death, undercover work (sexual and spying), and other hidden or underground things.
I took a look at the Atom Split chart and was glad to see no particular correspondances between it and the Full Moon chart, but there are 'separation' and 'illness' connections to George Bush's natal chart...Moon conj Aesculapia, as noted.
The illness may be his or someone's in his environment, but even so, I believe it relates to bio-terrorism, the CDC, and Aviary concerns which (normal) people have these days, including the safety of vaccinations which are foisted upon us. Sen Chris Dodd
Sen Dodd's HuffPost article, My Oath of Office sounds like just what America needs after the last few years' worth of the criminal undermining of our Constitution.
Because he's a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, it occurs to me that Sen Dodd could've been busier with these issues before the current Bush-Cheney rot set in so deeply, and the Clinton dissolutions, too.
Still if Dodd's name is on the ballot for 2008, he may be the lesser of two you-know-whats.
Born in Willimantic CT, May 27, 1944, Dodd's Sun Gem/Moon Leo is shared natally by Rudy Giuliani, Walt Whitman, Anne Frank, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Paul McCartney (!)

So it was off to the Dominican Republic for young Christopher, then back to join the National Guard and the US Army Reserves. Well, right there he's got it all over George AWOL Bush, doesn't he? Dodd's Mars-Pluto conj shows a person with personal courage who is good in a crisis because he knows how to withhold action until just the right moment (another big fat zero for Bush.)
Mars-Pluto tends to be aggressive toward goals, yet may not want what was desired once it's achieved.
Now wouldn't that be inconvenient if you attained the Oval Office only to find you didn't want it after all?

interview with Barbara Slavin on US-Iran
Barbara Slavin, senior diplomatic correspondent for USA Today since 1996 and author of the recently published book,Bitter Friends, Bosom Enemies: Iran, the U.S., and the Twisted Path to Confrontation (St. Martin's Press), writes that,
"Iran and the United States are like a once happily married couple that has gone through a bitter divorce. Harsh words have been exchanged - husband and wife have come to blows and employed others to inflict more punishment. Apologizing is hard and changing behavior even harder. This relationship is unequal, with one side or the other feeling more vulnerable at any given time and afraid the other will take advantage of concessions."
Currently, the public faces of both nations, presidents George W. Bush and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, have been content to throw rhetorical bombs and raise the diplomatic temperature - increasing the likelihood of war. Indeed, at times it appears that conservative hardliners in both countries are eager for conflict as a means to maintain their respective grips on power.
Using her extensive contacts among the powerful inside Iran and the United States, Slavin documents missed opportunities for reconciliation between both countries during the administrations of the first President Bush as well as Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. The combination of her remarkable access to people such as Madeline Albright, Condelezza Rice, Iranian reformers like former President Mohammad Khatami, longtime establishment figures such as Ali Rafsanjani, as well as dissidents like Akbar Ganji and everyday citizens, allows Slavin to shed sunlight on a nation most Americans know very little about. She is also the first newspaper reporter from the United States to interview Iranian President Ahmadinejad.
Slavin has accompanied three secretaries of State on their official travels and reported from Iran, Libya, Israel, Egypt, North Korea, Russia, China, Saudi Arabia and Syria. She is also a regular commentator for U.S. foreign policy on National Public Radio, the Public Broadcasting System's Washington Week In Review and C-Span. This month, she joined the U.S. Institute of Peace as a Jennings Randolph fellow, to continue her research on Iran. Slavin also serves as a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Hillary abandons her Socks: 2008 deal breaker?
Ouch! Hillary's softer image is clawed over dumped cat is one of the more insidious character attacks you'll want to read. And it uses little Socks, the former White House First Pet, as its amunition while accusing Hillary Clinton of what the article does--cynical and jaded pet use.
Clinton's book, Dear Socks, Dear Buddy: Kids' Letters to the First Pets, will now be trotted out like Buddy's ill-fated romp into the street just after his First Dog tenure ended...thus ending the life of a chocolate lab who deserved better.
Was a vast right paw conspiracy behind Buddy's demise? Was Buddy threatening to bark out about the Clinton years?
Socks, that black'n'white kitty who, said Hillary at the time, caused the White House to finally "become a home" was adopted by Bill's personal secretary, Betty Currie. This may represent abuse, but I doubt it--and I have no report of Socks' current mindset, if any, concerning Hillary's plans to move back into the First Feline's former cushy digs. Rrraorrrwwww!
May I suggest that if Hillary's prez-run results in a W-House reinstallment that she consider a different type of First Pet...perhaps a parrot for practicing the agenda's talking points, or a ferret to aid the secret service and intell community for ferreting out the truth which ran into the street years ago.

Ruppert's Crossing the Rubicon which I recommend highly for its 9/11 Timeline, details on CIA and FBI actions, Paul Wellstone and Danny Casolaro info, PROMIS software details, Iran- Contra scandal/October Surprise 1980, Vince Foster's suiciding, and much more (600+ pp altogether.)
This book is well researched and sourced, yet I could use a more details on writer Danny Casolaro (who got too close to the tentacles) whose death occurred the weekend of a New Moon 17Leo00--the Heart of the Scorpion degree. Tr Ceres was at 1Sco58, the NWO's natal Sun degree...what some would call a coincidence.
Casolaro's murder/assassination (Aug 9/10, 1991) preceded the Great Conjunctions of the New World Order planets, Uranus and Neptune: Feb 2, 1993 (19Cap34), Aug 20, 1993 (18Cap48), and Oct 24, 1993 (18Cap33--the chart I generally use as the NWO's birth chart.)
However, transit North Node (NN) was pointing to 18Cap45 (NWO's Uranus/Neptune Conjunction degree '18Cap') the weekend of Casolaro's death by deep wrist-slashing...a similar mode of death as UK's nuclear expert Dr. David Kelley's mysterious suiciding of July 17, 2003--when tr Chiron (The Wound) was at 14Cap37, conj tr Neptune/Pluto midpoint - at the same degree of tr Neptune during Casolaro's last weekend in Martinsburg, West Virginia. This is 3 degrees past the UK's natal Sun and opposes the US natal Sun, the two players with the most to gain from Dr. Kelley's demise.

As I moseyed around there this evening my eyes lighted upon the link of a blog completely new to me and one whose title I would naturally notice: The Moon's Favors which is worth your perusal as well.
Well-organized as I wish SO'W could be but for the tech-challenged brain and the dial-up-only-option of yours truly, this blog sports the ACLU's button for Find Habeas where we may remind ourselves that Habeas Corpus went missing without a trace on Oct 17, 2006, Washington, DC--and hasn't been seen since. Not a peep.
Now I've been known to watch the tv program Without a Trace where some episodes end with a found missing person, some sadly don't.
This little Habeas fellow must be found for your sake and mine--for America's sake, so see if you'd like to join the search for him, or just link to the site, okay? He's been gone just over a year now and the first few hours someone goes missing are the most critical. Even the tv show admits it.

Yet the sadness is all on our side, it seems.

The Origins of the Overclass gives one of the fuller pictures starting in the mid-70s if you'd care to know how the rich-elite class have catapulted themselves into the stratosphere of wealth and privilege.
Author Steve Kangas says the origins of the overclass can be traced back to the CIA--this article spares no one's feelings, so watch your toes.
Between FDR's New Deal programs and LBJ's Great Society leveling, something had to be done to stop the redistribution of wealth!
Plutocratic Pluto-Chiron's oppression, racism, and class warfare have reached scandalous heights. Their conjunction of Dec 30, 1999 was at "11Sag" and there are interesting insights on this degree by Lynda Hill in her book, 360 Degrees of Wisdom which help to describe what I've been barkin' about with the Democratic-Republican melding from which we and the truth suffer--also described by the Great Conjunction of Jupiter (Rs) with Saturn (Ds) on May 28, 2000.

Bush press gaggle 10.17.07
Today as I prepared a post on Mukasey's confirmation hearings beginning, Bush called a press conference at 10:45 am edt, Washington, DC, with the midpoint Neptune/MC rising.
Neptune/MC = ASC: acting and pretending; pursuit of the wrong objectives; living in a world of illusions and unreality; uncertainty; defenses against insecurity.
After listening to Bush's rather strident voice-goes-up-at-end-of-sentences statement, and now listening to his answers to reporters questions--and considering the seriousness of Putin-in-Iran, Turkey po'd over the genocide resolution and the D's bad timing on this 90-year-old situation, the housing losses getting worse as I type, China's issues with Tibet and the Dalai Lama's award to be presented today, and other attacks on Bush's presidency, it seems clear that having his back against so many walls isn't good for America.
Nor has his presidency been, of course, but my point is the same one I've made here before--America is the only nag in the race for me and I would've loved it if the Bush 43 presidency had been good for our nation. Yet the justification of his 'protecting' us from terroist attacks for the last 6 years only works if you think he and his ilk were not complicit or culpable in the attacks of 9/11--and the jury is still out to lunch on that question, imho.

Dalai Lama in the White House
Dalai Lama XIV, born July 6, 1935, 4:38 am LMT, Tengster Village, Tibet:
Bush to Meet with Dalai Lama Today and they may be sipping their cups of green tea as I type.
Bush chooses now to be seen in public with the Dalai Lama instead of sneaking around to meet as they have several times in the past.
China is miffed about the visit and the award, of course, esp since tomorrow's bestowing of the Congressional Gold Medal of Honor upon the Tibetan spiritual leader will coincide with China's Communist Party Congress. Bad timing seems to be a constant plague in Washington.
(Was it planned so? Congress is making Turkey angry with its belated genocide proclamation--China may as well join the snit against the US. And the majority of Americans are grumped up with the US Congress, too, so there's a definite chill on the Hill directed at the current infestation of insulated, speculating pocket-liners.)

The Dalai Lama (hereby dubbed DL for typing purposes) was born during the 9 Old South Solar Eclipse Series which ended in 1971, but it began on June 23, 727 (OS; 27 Can, conj Bush's natal Saturn)--so it was quite ancient and worn out, after all.
If you click-to-enlarge the chart you'll see DL's PE rising in his chart--and it's also his Syzygy Moon (the last lunation prior to birth.)

Born during a Moon Hour (good for nurturing, changes and publicity) with Mercury as final dispositor, DL has a forceful midpoint which is conjunct George Bush's natal Saturn (authority; control)--the Mars/Uranus combination of energies is where we have a short fuse, use nontraditional and innovative forms of energy, and where heated outbursts may occur. Yet one assumes he has his temper under control...still we must entertain the image of DL and Bush gazing into each others eyes over china teacups--that should do it:

Today begins a new cycle of interpretation: I have received my copy of Lynda Hill's excellent book 360 Degrees of Wisdom: Charting Your Destiny with the Sabian Oracles and find it to be spot-on and chocked with analysis.
Yet as usual I do not have time to do justice to the Dalai Lama's chart with its rising Mercury/Pluto midpoint (Mercury/Pluto = ASC: intellectual influence on others) so I'll close with a couple of factors which 'pop out' at my reluctant astrologer's eye.
Here is the Sabian Symbol of DL's n Sun with interpretation from Lynda's book (you will notice DL's n Sun is one degree from Bush's and the US natal Sun):

Oracle: Messages of hope for the future are coming through younger and more vital elements (is the mantle about to be passed? Transit Saturn and tr SN--separations-- are now conjunct but this more likely points again to the Tibet/China dilemma--jc); seeing the greatness of others; charisma and presence; visions; holistic perceptions; discovering latent talents.

DL's natal Mars 18Lib16 (the position of US sec progr'd Mars Rx) is conj Bush's moneybags/guru planet, Jupiter. Both have major expansive Moon/Jupiter similarities--Bush has them conj, DL has them sextile.
His first house contains a Pluto/SN conjunction indicating a life disrupted by war and violence...and they sit upon Bush's natal Saturn. DL's n NN (the path or destiny) has this Symbol from Marc Edmund Jones: "Two Awards for Bravery in War." Well, he seems to be receiving one of them on Wednesday.
Lynda adds info to this degree Symbol: rewards for involvement in tough situations; benefits given or showered; legal claims; award ceremonies; recompense for taking action.
