With the world oil supply under threat of disruption by a ginned up case for war against Iran thanks to the renegade Trump gang, I took a look back at an excerpt from a previous post (linked below) concerning the Arab Oil Embargo of October 17, 1973 which includes the founding data for OPEC; note the organization's stated goal:

For in the 1973 chart, this oily YOD points toward warrior-activist Mars Rx @4Tau09 (in 7th house at sunrise edt, Washington DC) with the trio's midpoint picture potentials consisting of: succumbing to external powers, being used as a tool for other people's interests, lack of energy (Ebertin); added compulsion to to use violence to achieve aims (Munkasey); rejection of actions due to misunderstandings (Tyl). To that last I would add: because very few people believe Washington's lies-into-war anymore.

Now the 2019 potentials have been activated by transit Uranus in early Taurus for the quirky disruptive planet of chaos has come along to 'replace' Mars in the above equation so we have such possibilities as: unusual means to escape from or change reality (Uranus is fantasist Trump's guiding planet because it is oriental in his natal chart), impersonal attitudes about any destructive or antisocial activities (Munkasey); making waves to get to shore, possibly aberrant behavior, disruption to gain recognition (of the need for war with Iran?), courage (or fools rush in!?), and/or adventurous ego thrust (as always with Big T's huge ego); flair for the unusual, adventurous, mystical, supernatural, and/or peculiar discoveries (Ebertin).

But perhaps a more basic planetary echo and cosmic time link from the oil crisis of 1973 has to be that 2019 Uranus the rebel conjoins 1973 Mars, a planetary tango which suggests explosive possibilities (as already seen via the two Japanese oil tankers) and the dangerous conditions the world now faces on behalf of someone - most likely a group of weapon-forging Vulcan-esque someones - who intend to benefit from the waging of war and strife and who are aided and abetted by religious fanatics who arrogantly assume that they know what's best for the entire planet.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has a 19-year history of beating American war drums against Iran. Yesterday, he addressed a Joint Session of Congress and did just that in what some pundits call an unprecedented act.

Netanyahu also addressed the US Congress in 2011 and on July 10, 1996 during Bill Clinton's presidency as mentioned here at The Intercept. He stated in 1996 that "time is running out...we have to act," which was echoed in yesterday's message concerning Iran's potential development of a nuclear bomb.

At this early juncture, my 2 cents' worth about the diplomtic cable leaks is that many of the US government's tears over the current WikiLeaks outing seem crocodile-esque to me, partly because I thought that everyone knew or assumed that 'US diplomatic service' was a euphemism for a team of spies skulking about the world's embassies! If you're too young to have been around for, or aware of, the Reagan administration's Iran-Contra Scandal, it is highly recommended that you play catch-up before America's shadow government bombs nuclear facilities in Iran - especially if you care whether the US Constitution is followed and honored in Washington DC.

For even if such acts of war were ever warranted anywhere in the world, how could bombing facilities containing nuclear material EVER be a sane idea?

Well, there is one Saros Series of Solar Eclipses that has a 'constitutional crisis' flavor - the 13 South Series, which will manifest in timely fashion on June 1, 2011 @ '11Gemini' conjunct US natal *Descendant, the Angle of Partnerships, Legal Affairs including pacts and agreements, and Open Enemies.

With our Constitution under serious attack for years now, will its 'pact' with the American people be irrevocably broken as timed by the 13 South Eclipse? This would indicate much danger to our system of government - already a factor - during the second half of 2011 in particular.

That this bodes ill for America and for the Obama administration, I have few doubts, especially with 2009's worrisome void-of-course Inaugural Moon at crisis degree, an indication that little about Barack Obama's presidency will turn out as expected, if it turns out at all. Whether that means only the peoples' expectations being unsatisfied or the administration's plans going awry remains to be seen...perhaps both on various levels if special interest lobbyists and Mr. Obama's opponents have anything to do with it.

Of course, another reading of a VOC Moon is that things proceed without interference, as did the attacks of 9/11 and the VOC Moon at '28Gemini,' a degree of bankruptcy. I'd say that VOC Moon has yielded much fruit for the wealthiest classes, wouldn't you?

So after watching SNL's opening skit last evening with 'Barack Obama' checking off a list of promised 'to-dos' that he hasn't accomplished in his 9 months in the Oval Office, I could feel that 29Sco45 Inaugural Moon hanging over America - in place of the Aries Harvest Moon. An Inaugural chart is good for as long as the presidential term it describes lasts.

Now you may remember that Michael Tsarion makes several points about the true nature of the US Constitution and the Founders' intentions at TarotScopes in case you missed it (I gave you his article's link back in May, lone reader; it's worth reviewing if only to cause thinking to occur, even without complete agreement with Mr. Tsarion's alternate views.)

The excellent Information Clearing House has an interview by Amy Goodman with Stephen Kinzer author of All the Shah's Men: An American Coup and the Roots of Middle East Terror which gives a basic view of how the US and UK sparked our present troubles by their greed, perfidy, and the Bondian exploits of Teddy R's relative, suave spy Kermit Roosevelt, who facilitated the overthrow of Iran's democratically elected government which resulted in the re-installation of the Shah--bwo the CIA.

We can also thank the Eisenhower administration for the overthrow and its 'unintended consequences' which turns out to be something at which the US government excels. Lots of practice, and 1953 was no exception. Read the article, if you haven't, for it explains a lot of the UK and US machinations,shall we call them. It's the oil, stupid.

Inspired by today's $106 barrel oil (the highest ever) here is the chart of the Arab Oil Embargo of 1973 which I took a re-gander at this evening along with the transits for this afternoon, 4:00 pm, NYC.

In the 1973 chart, North Node (associations; connections) is at00Cap58--this afternoon's Pluto? 00Cap58 (no, I didn't realize this until I saw it with my own peepers.)

This places today's tr Mars--out-of-bounds and setting bombs and fires all over the place~1Can08--conj 1973's South Node (of the Moon)--a separative point of karmic repercussions. Mars-SN = violence; war. And I might add, disenfranchised men between the ages of appr 25--35...some of them with red hair.

If we look at the possible word pictures of these three players, Mars, Pluto, NN, we get:

Mars-Pluto = NN: working with others to change the world; joint performance of record achievements; spurring others on; setting an example for others to achieve.

Mars-NN = Pluto: others must 'get on the train' or get left behind; a violent or enforced separation in a partnership.

Pluto-NN = Mars: exhibition of personal power; tyranny; demonstrating violence or brutality in the presence of others; desire to make others amenable to one's wishes; the misfortune to be placed under someone's else's power and control. (Tyl; Ebertin.)

Another clump of planets can be done the same way--1973's close conjunction of Moon 4Can42 and Saturn 4Can45, with 2008's tr Mars 1Can08, so we see:

Moon-Saturn = Mars: lack of determination; desire to overcome difficulties; soul-conflicts; the sense of real problems; difficulty getting off the ground except by very careful, strategically planned exertion of energy.

Moon-Mars = Saturn: caught in the middle of the road; frustration; quarreling; dissatisfaction or an unsatisfied desire; suppression.

Mars-Saturn = Moon: weak will; moodiness; depression; feelings about losing something.

Well, phooey--this post is being overtaken by a massive thunderstorm system rolling in now...so in case I don't get to complete this post before tomorrow, the above linked article makes it plain that a US strike on Iran would result, among other things, in Iran's being able to shut the Strait of Hormuz by sinking a couple of oil tankers which would effectively close the tap on 20% of the world's oil supply.

And the Pre-natal Eclipse Series of the Oil Embargo of 1973 is 11 South...Brady gives this Series as:

old ideas and methods fail; new systems are required to deal with events; blocks may be violently or tragically removed.

So if we hobble toward 2009 without allowing Cheney-Bush their daft and cruel strike on Iran then we've got trouble comin'...this Eclipse repeats on July 22, 2009, "30Can": "A daughter of the American Revolution."

MPs warn against US attack on Iran:

A military strike against Iran is unlikely to succeed and could provoke a violent backlash across the region, MPs have warned. The Commons foreign affairs committee urged the Government to use its influence with Washington to persuade the US administration to "engage" diplomatically with the Iranians over their nuclear programme.#

You mean someone has influence with the Bush-Cheney 1% gang?

Since when does it do any good to negotiate with pyschopaths?

You know when my generation demanded we leave Vietnam, Cheney and those like him thought we were wrong. And when Bush coup'd the White House the first time, I prayed that another generation of young Americans wouldn't be done as my generation had been done in the 60s and 70s by our own government.

And yet it has happened again and now--now some of the same neocons want to bomb yet another target as if more suffering of innocent people matters for nothing....it's "success" at any cost and too bad for anyone who gets in their way. Protect America is their excuse for the mayhem and misery they cause so rashly and zealously.

It's only Capitol Hill Theater, dahling!

And it makes me heartsick to think that NO ONE in Washington can or will stop these outlaws who consider themselves above every law of man and not subject to God's laws as mere mortals.

Yet I assert that while they may temporarily cheat judgment on earth, there is one authority they will not cheat, in spite of what they profess to believe within their secret brotherhoods and societies of whatever stripe with which they choose to cavort.

As these men have changed the voice and tone of America and perverted her mission in the world, her social fabric is being rent into need, want, and loss, while the radical reformers have grown even more brazen and craven.

And if the good people of Iran should find themselves in the line of fire of these men, they will speak out against a wayward nation that was forged in freedom from oppression, yet is no longer willing to trod the higher path of the common good--not here, not anywhere. Only the American people can make a difference--but will we?

The simple fact that an imperialist government can pretend to "spread freedom" through violence is enough reason for someone with influence to put a stop to their hubris and the crime spree that has gone on far too long for lack of an ability to admit that they are mere men and thus fallible as are the rest of us.

You can't sit down with madmen, you can't negotiate with killers, they'll tell you. Seems they know themselves rather well.

So my question is: how in the world will British MPs get across their reasonable, cautionary advice to men such as these?

Bush orders clampdown on flights to US--EU officials furious as Washington says it wants extra data on all air passengers:

The US administration is pressing the 27 governments of the European Union to sign up for a range of new security measures for transatlantic travel, including allowing armed guards on all flights from Europe to America by US airlines. The demand to put armed air marshals on to the flights is part of a travel clampdown by the Bush regime that officials in Brussels described as "blackmail" and "troublesome", and could see west Europeans and Britons required to have US visas if their governments balk at Washington's requirements.

According to a US document being circulated for signature in European capitals, EU states would also need to supply personal data on all air passengers overflying but not landing in the US in order to gain or retain visa-free travel to America, senior EU officials said.#


This reminds me of what may be a similarly themed issue: building walls on the border between the US and Mexico--and I can't shake the feeling that it's meant as much to isolate the American people as to keep others out. The above-mentioned "blackmail" seems part of the same ploy.

Then there's the recent mysterious cutting of Iran's internet cables. And although I would be among the first to suspect the Bush regime or others in the cutting yet I can't help but wonder if it's the Iranian government closing in on the Iranian people, just as the Bush-Cheney 1% gang is busily doing to America.

Hmm...this "feeling" is probably simply a part of the fear-esque atmosphere they're advancing upon us 24 hours a day, for years on end. Right?

Or perhaps another mixed "blessing" from Mr. Freedom-is-the-default-position-of-humanity!

The White House said on Monday that the harassment of US Navy ships by Iran was "provocative" and warned Tehran against taking such actions in the future.

Transit Jupiter is approaching opposition to America's natal Jupiter, a period when no one is the least bit impressed with one's grandiose Jupiterian efforts (which may also describe Republican candidates' performances on the campaign trail!), and there is potential for overblown efforts and discouraging comparisons.

Being that it's the "first mockingbird" of a season, and "consistent stimulaton" this is probably the beginning of a campaign of another sort by Iran inspired by the explosive combo of the off-again-on-again opposition of Mars and Pluto--with Pluto at the "The pope blessing the faithful" degree which speaks of surrendering to a lust for power.

interview with Barbara Slavin on US-Iran

Barbara Slavin, senior diplomatic correspondent for USA Today since 1996 and author of the recently published book,Bitter Friends, Bosom Enemies: Iran, the U.S., and the Twisted Path to Confrontation (St. Martin's Press), writes that,

"Iran and the United States are like a once happily married couple that has gone through a bitter divorce. Harsh words have been exchanged - husband and wife have come to blows and employed others to inflict more punishment. Apologizing is hard and changing behavior even harder. This relationship is unequal, with one side or the other feeling more vulnerable at any given time and afraid the other will take advantage of concessions."

Currently, the public faces of both nations, presidents George W. Bush and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, have been content to throw rhetorical bombs and raise the diplomatic temperature - increasing the likelihood of war. Indeed, at times it appears that conservative hardliners in both countries are eager for conflict as a means to maintain their respective grips on power.

Using her extensive contacts among the powerful inside Iran and the United States, Slavin documents missed opportunities for reconciliation between both countries during the administrations of the first President Bush as well as Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. The combination of her remarkable access to people such as Madeline Albright, Condelezza Rice, Iranian reformers like former President Mohammad Khatami, longtime establishment figures such as Ali Rafsanjani, as well as dissidents like Akbar Ganji and everyday citizens, allows Slavin to shed sunlight on a nation most Americans know very little about. She is also the first newspaper reporter from the United States to interview Iranian President Ahmadinejad.

Slavin has accompanied three secretaries of State on their official travels and reported from Iran, Libya, Israel, Egypt, North Korea, Russia, China, Saudi Arabia and Syria. She is also a regular commentator for U.S. foreign policy on National Public Radio, the Public Broadcasting System's Washington Week In Review and C-Span. This month, she joined the U.S. Institute of Peace as a Jennings Randolph fellow, to continue her research on Iran. Slavin also serves as a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Slavin agreed to a podcast interview with me about her book, Iran and their turbulent relationship with the United States. Our conversation is just under thirty minutes.

The Pentagon has drawn up plans for massive airstrikes against 1,200 targets in Iran, designed to annihilate the Iranians’ military capability in three days, according to a national security expert. Alexis Debat, director of terrorism and national security at the Nixon Center, said last week that US military planners were not preparing for "pinprick strikes" against Iran’s nuclear facilities. "They’re about taking out the entire Iranian military," he said.#

Shadows around every corner and "dark actors playing games," as a certain Dr. David Kelly informed a journalist. Did we ever find out who she was? Don't tell me it was Judith Miller. No. That had to have been a nightmare. Anyway, shadows and dark actors are all we get with the curent infestaion of "world leaders" as they tle themselves.

Once upon a time, any little pipsqueak nabob would've been well-satisfied with the title of dictator. Mob bosses, princes, and yes, even kings, would settle for control over the unwashed masses and a lifetime supply of breads and cakes.

But only in the egalitarian--the Aquarian--sort of way...meaning, at a distance, puh-leeeese!

Sharing the spirit but not much else; sharing little in the way of grounding, it's called in astrology. Reminds me of the song I loved to hate so long ago: You Were Always On My Mind.

Elvis regaled us with it, and Willie Nelson took a swipe at it with his lace hanky as consolation prize. But were you ever fooled by the song's sentiments of the arch-smarmy, namby-pamby thought about ya but couldn't be bothered to stir myself cop-out? I knowww.
