Today I'm looking at the horoscope of Thursday October 7, 2010's New Moon 14Lib24 which perfects over Washington DC at 2:44:25 pm edt (using Solar Fire software as always) and falls in the 9th house of that location.
Rising is one of the degrees of the Great Conjunction/s of the Illumination pair of energies, Uranus and Neptune: 19Cap44. At Midheaven, the Goal Point, is 12Sco49 with Venus 13:14 and Mars 15:33 in 10th house; it's an Hour of Venus so relationship and evaluation issues are indicated.
With Saturn 8Lib35 as chart-ruler and Mercury 7Lib25, both in 8th house of Shared Resources, Debt, Credit, Insurance, Big Business, Transformation, and the Occult, their conjunction of Oct 8, 2010 7:40 pm edt at 8Lib40 bosses around October 7's New Moon along with the lunation's ruler, Venus. The New Moon's 8th cusp 2Vir40 is ruled by Mercury which only applies to its conj with Saturn.
The Mercury/Saturn combo relates to caution or frustration during planning sessions, directness or forthrightness in a leader's reasoning, treaties that contain difficult compromises, impasses, delayed or hindered negotiations, and computer programming methods. Saturn makes no other applying aspects in the chart.
However, the 1993 conj of Uranus and Neptune rises which makes it angular (having an energy outlet in the chart) and something of a determinator as well. We may expect issues from 1993 to be on the menu for the next two weeks, or for four weeks, if you count the Full Moon of October 22, 2010 (@ 29Ari33, a critical degree) as the fulfillment phase for the seeds planted during Oct 7's New Moon in Libra.

There is another prominent midpoint picture formed by the New Moon of Oct 7: its conjunction to US natal Saturn 14Lib48 (which was conjoined on 9/11/01 by transiting Mercury - the calls for a serious investigation of 9/11 and the unexplained collapse of WTC7 are getting louder...)

And since New Moons mark the start of new cycles of activity, perhaps Justice Elena Kagan's beginning work this week with SCOTUS is indicated as well since US natal Saturn relates to the Scales of Justice (Libra) and the law (Saturn); the Moon may always signify a woman and the people in a mundane astrology chart.

Plus, the November 2 midterm elections fit snugly within the busy celestial calendar of the next few weeks and I hope all Americans who can will get out and vote.

Because I was unaware of the Dylan Ratigan Show, this April 2010 interview with Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) escaped my notice until today so I'm posting it here for my quick re-viewing of this info-packed 10:58-minute presentation. You might find it worth a peek, too, for its topics, and for Mr. Ratigan's style of information delivery which suits me well: his points are clearly presented and he doesn't yell at me.
My ears and sensibilities appreciate that.
You know that Rep. Grayson co-sponsored the Audit the Fed legislation (to nowhere) with Rep. Ron Paul (R?-Libertarianville) and the interview recorded with him here invites a listen or re-listen as planet Venus prepares to turn retrograde on Oct 8th (until Nov 18's Direct Station) which heralds a time of global emphasis on diplomacy and foreign policy - already begun; this is also a period when political situations are "particularly unstable and leaders are insecure and fallible." We may expect a few conditions during Venus' current Rx/Shadow/Direct process (she passes shadow degree in December 2010 just prior the December 21, 2010 Lunar Eclipse 29Gem21, a critical 29th degree which may have stock market implications) with issues from 8 years ago (2002) resurfacing or recurring for our revision, review, or renegotiation; the influence on world affairs of our relational/evaluational planet, Venus, has been observed through the centuries and faithfully recorded.

And my populist, common good soul must add: bombing a country is not diplomacy. I'm lookin' at you, Pentagon. Yes, Lady Venus and her adherents can be vicious and vengeful when scorned, as we know from personal relationships; the planet's 8-year Rx cycle makes a five-pointed star pattern around the circle of the zodiac, which the shape of the Pentagon building mimics. The rose is the flower dearest to Venus, and the World Egg relates to Venus as well: the White House Rose Garden and the egg-shaped Oval Office come immediately to mind. And of course, planet Venus is implicated in the paradigm shift said to be peaking in 2012 (or in 2011 depending on what you read. Banishing monsters is only successful if they've been honestly and properly identified and faced. For this purpose, the US had the transit of realistic Saturn to US natal Neptune (hopes; dreams; ideals) in August-September 2009, but unfortunately for our nation's future, the propagandists have done such an excellent job of addling the brains and minds of the American people through the decades that clinging to illusions concerning the true motives of the US government now lurk so deeply in the shadows of our collective unconscious that most Americans, kept busy working on or worrying about the material plane of existence whilst feeding their senses ad nauseum, have lost the ability to ask questions and demandingly follow through until answers are supplied by the ruling class and their operatives, the criminal perpetrators who disenfranchise us and the rest of the world, 24/7.
So you know the old saw about how Americans won't mess with the banking and corporate classes overmuch because each one of us in our heart of hearts harbors the American Dream that one day, in some far distant future, we too may join the Top 3% of income earners in this country?
Well, it should have been finally laid to rest during the engineered Financial Collapse of 2008 and beyond. And all this makes me wonder if any civilized American (for I believe there are a few around, they're just not working on Capitol Hill unless they're 'plants' or foils to play against for the cameras) - would honestly be able to perpetrate whatever is necessary to join with the wealthy power elite's 'win at any cost' game with its 'survival of the fittest' mentality (thanks, Darwin) and thereby run over and squash their neighbors and loved ones in order to act like the top dogs they secretly 'admire' and dream of emulating with secret Swiss bank accounts of their own.
But that's silly! Because to become one of them, we'd first have to admire the culprits, criminals, and assassins who make up the global crime syndicate now throttling the world's resources! Right?

One Nation Working Together plans a March on Washington on Saturday, October 2, 2010 to Demand the Changes We Voted For.
Beginning at 12:00 noon edt at the Lincoln Memorial (quite a busy location of late), the disgruntled event continues until 4:00 pm. People who voted for Barack Obama in 2008 are feeling that their confidence may have been misplaced and their generosity bestowed where it didn't belong.
During the 2008 campaign, I blogged ad nauseum that Mr. Obama's natal Mars upon US natal Neptune (the 'rock star' connection) would keep the American public from seeing him as he really was, from discerning his true motivations because the action, energy, and desires of his natal Mars are veiled by our national Neptune. This worked great for putting one over and getting elected but the honeymoon period ended months ago as more US jobs and homes are being lost with transit Neptune and wounding Chiron still sitting upon US natal Moon (the people) and bringing us loss, fraud, deception, confusion, gas leaks, rig blowouts, and flooding.
The time for platitudes, slogans, and cliches has ended.

That Mr. Obama could gain the Oval Office with the help of Wall Street, play his role in the mummery that was Financial Collapse 2008 and the subsequent bank bailouts to wealthy culprits and robbers, then leave Main Street in the lurch has brought the president a March on Washington to protest what seems like his half-hearted efforts on the people's behalf. Or at best, the president's efforts may help matters in the long-term when it's short-term problems that leave the kids' tummies unfed and the bills unpaid.
What I find difficult to believe is that the intelligent Mr. Obama couldn't have seen our disaffection coming from the beginning since he knew the power elite script ahead of time! Is he himself left in the lurch now - in the middle - by those who pull the strings? Was a Democrat installed in the White House as a salve to the people's Bush-ruffled feathers while the over-arching agenda of the one-world-government types awaits fuller implementation by the next president, a Republican? Are US presidents only bull-horning cheerleaders - mouthpieces - who tout the power-behind-the-throne's platform of chaos meant to lead to totalitarianism?
(Next thing we know, the old ploy of monarchs starting a war to divert their unhappy subjects may play out once again before our eyes: that's the tactic Bush-Cheney used after their disputed installation into the White House by SCOTUS! The terms "illegitimate presidency" and "usurpers" were on many people's lips in 2001 - until the attacks of 9/11 and the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq squelched them.)
As you know, Pluto 2Cap53 (about to conjoin tr North Node on Nov 9, 2010 with the Moon 3Cap36 @ 3:13 pm est, DC) has been focal planet of some difficult midpoint pictures of late even though the Cardinal T-Squares and Cross have separated. Now I won't type those pictures again but do want to mention a particular T-Square in play for October 2, 2010...the Mercury/Uranus pair indicates 'riots or rebellions which occur because info about goals are not well explained or defined' (Munkasey)...
Mercury/Uranus = Pluto: attracting sudden reverses or complications in life; a hasty realization of plans; over-strained or over-stimulated nerves; tremendous power for work, action, leadership; getting the biggest job done in a commanding way. (Ebertin; Tyl.)
And I don't mean to imply that a simple matter of 'miscommunication' is President Obama's problem here - I lean toward a belief that if he did divulge the truth of the larger global plan and the true condition of things, Washington would have mega- thousands of people marching upon it...enough to shut down The Swamp and start all over again. Plus, he has to follow the NWO's false-reality script or his presidency is aborted, and the pitchforks come out en masse. But that's me. Feel free to disagree.
So at noon on Saturday, there are two midpoints rising as the event gets underway; one is Venus/Pluto = 'extremes of wealth hidden in secret places' and 'attracting elements of organized crime'...

If riots or violence break out, I pre-call it as fomentation by provocative agents!
October 2, 2010's March on Washington begins during a Mercury Hour, good for mercurial concerns such as speeches, agreements, changes, and marching. (Next thing we know, the old ploy of monarchs starting a war to divert their unhappy subjects may play out once again before our eyes: that's the tactic Bush-Cheney used after their disputed installation into the White House by SCOTUS! The terms "illegitimate presidency" and "usurpers" were on many people's lips in 2001 - until the attacks of 9/11 and the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq squelched them.)
As you know, Pluto 2Cap53 (about to conjoin tr North Node on Nov 9, 2010 with the Moon 3Cap36 @ 3:13 pm est, DC) has been focal planet of some difficult midpoint pictures of late even though the Cardinal T-Squares and Cross have separated. Now I won't type those pictures again but do want to mention a particular T-Square in play for October 2, 2010...the Mercury/Uranus pair indicates 'riots or rebellions which occur because info about goals are not well explained or defined' (Munkasey)...

And I don't mean to imply that a simple matter of 'miscommunication' is President Obama's problem here - I lean toward a belief that if he did divulge the truth of the larger global plan and the true condition of things, Washington would have mega- thousands of people marching upon it...enough to shut down The Swamp and start all over again. Plus, he has to follow the NWO's false-reality script or his presidency is aborted, and the pitchforks come out en masse. But that's me. Feel free to disagree.

This is what I suspect most Americans are and prefer to be, for we see things as working best that way, even as politics' divisive 'either/or' requirements and propagandistic slogans busy themselves with gumming up the efficient working of our society. Unfortunately for the good of our nation, most Capitol Hill Republicans and Democrats purposefully lost that thread decades ago and have no intention of gaining it back.
With Sun Cancer-Moon AQ, the typical clannishness of Cancer is universalized by the Aquarian Moon so that broad social issues are always on our country's agenda. Family is paramount with us, yet our friends and colleagues tend to be treated as 'family', too. So personal warmth combines with abstract thought and is communicated to the world with aplomb and conviction.
