Trump to Speak at Davos 2018: Moon as Timer and Describer of the Public Mood

On Friday January 26, 2018 at 1:00 pm GMT, Donald Trump is scheduled to deliver a speech of some sort at the annual Davos Conference in Davos, Switzerland, said to be the last world leader to speak this year. His theme: "America is open for business" apparently. Briefly, let's look at the positions of the Moon in relation to the Aquarian Sun for a bit of behind-the-scenes information. As you've probably heard, some attendees are said to be planning a walk-out during Trump's speech even though his White House tenure has been 'good for business,' as some say.
Now since we hear in the US that Mr. Trump takes a while to get going in the mornings (and jet lag may be a factor for the 71-year-old), a 10:00 am curtain call would have been too stressful for his nibs yet this is the moment on Friday that the Moon @24Tau52 precisely conjoins his natal Midheaven, the Goals-and-Aspirations Point of any chart--and he adores publicity (signified by the Moon). However, as she floats through the rest of Taurus, Luna will meet with the difficult stars of the Pleiades constellation, stars of rage and fury, plus, Moon opposes Mars in Scorpio which is hardly the most welcoming or delightful picture of acceptance for the controversial US representative.
In fact, a Moon-Mars opposition suggests angry conflicts and complaints but we don't need Astrology to tell us that Mr. Trump's nationalistic "America First" agenda (and bigotry) will cause trouble, even turmoil abroad as it does domestically. Certainly turmoil has already occurred via anti-Trump protesters at Davos (and across the globe!) and the Taurean intolerance for him seems very likely to continue through most of Friday. Yes, the Moon will be in Venus-ruled Taurus, a money and luxury-loving sign, as Trump speaks at 1:00 pm GMT, assuming that the schedule goes as planned. A Taurus Moon? Then someone had better take royal care of the precious Donald the way he thinks he merits!
Then at 6:39:30 pm GMT, the Moon enters Gemini and immediately reaches fixed star Alcyone @00Gemini00 with its keywords, "something to cry about" -- even though double-air Sun AQ-Moon Gemini is a lighter combo of energies than the Air-Earth combo of Sun AQ-Moon Taurus earlier in the day. So with any mundane Moon sign signifying the public mood, we may expect the population to show obstinacy and perhaps possessiveness under a Taurus Moon, but a more flippant attitude once Luna is in light-hearted Gemini. One reason for this could be that Mr. Trump may have cleared out of Davos by or before the Moon reaches Mercurial Gemini which is what yours truly would suggest!
For as one of my mother's favorite sayings goes, Never go where you're not invited, never stay where you're merely tolerated. Good advice for Donald Trump, no?
And, on a similar note, remember the olden days back in 2011 when Dubya Bush cancelled a Swiss visit in order to avoid protests--and arrest?!.
2018 Signs in the Sky: Prophecy and Israel as Fig Tree
Previously we have discussed the Solar Return 2018 of the State of Israel which involves the 70-year Biblical prophecy of the fig tree symbolism for Israel. This is my reason for posting the 2018 Return chart since the chart times 70 years since the creation of the State of Israel on May 14, 1948...1948 + 70 = 2018 and that's a mathematical fact.
Now I realize that few SO'W readers (if any!) believe in Biblical prophecy these days yet I feel a responsibility to caution such readers on that score. Although it is not an Astrology book per se, Adrian Gilbert's intriguing book Signs in the Sky: Astrological and Archaeological Evidence for the Birth of a New Age #ad provides certain information concerning Sun-Regulus, constellation Orion's importance in the final scheme as it rises over Jerusalem, and other 'signs' of the Tribulation and the last days.
One puzzling factor is Donald Trump's role in all of this with his Mars rising in Leo, but most significantly, Regulus rising with 'sun god' asteroid Apollo in his chart (Ascendant 29Leo). Curiously, Trump's progressed Sun is now @00Virgo, the current precessed position of royal Regulus. Unless his birth data is incorrect, Trump's chart factors seem part of the Prophecy yet I have much trouble with this due to his extreme lewdness and bigotry. Not that our Creator can't 'use' an imperfect human being for His ultimate purposes for there's rarely been any other kind on Earth! Yet in December 2017 when Trump announced the US embassy would be relocated to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv (in 2019, last I heard, preceded by multiple years of construction), it seemed to me more than a little prophetic in relation to the 70-year Prophecy. Karma on steroids?
Solar Eclipses of 2000 Repeat in 2018/19
Is someone manipulating these events on Earth to reflect the fig tree symbolism? Or are events a natural As Above So Below phenomena? In his book, Gilbert suggests year 2000 as possibly the start of The Tribulation which should be over (fulfilled) in 2018--when "the time is nigh". As of 2000, the Belt of Orion rises directly in the East with Mintaka slightly below the celestial equator and from Jerusalem, the Belt can be seen rising over the Mount of Olives. Other signs are listed including Summer Solstice 2000 (June 21). Certainly, the 'Nostradamus Eclipse' of August 11, 1999 may be seen as part of this--and we're under its influence again for it manifested as The Great American Eclipse of August 21, 2018 in the 1 North Saros Series--conjunct Mr. Trump's natal Ascendant!
Now year 2000 as you may remember brought Solar Eclipses in the 1 South Series (the next 1 South occurs February 15, 2018), the 2 Old North Series (Trump's Prenatal Eclipse Series which repeats on July 13, 2018 @21Cancer amidst the Gemini Twins, Castor and Pollux), the 2 New North ('The Tower' Eclipse occurring again on August 11, 2018 @19Leo), and the 2 South on Christmas Day 2000 @4Capricorn (the degree of transit Saturn as I type today). 2 South won't repeat until January 6, 2019 @15Capricorn, and of course Saturn rules Capricorn which is also related to the State of Israel, and to Palestine (though usually as a pair -- Saturn and Uranus; Israel's natal chart may be viewed as Palestine's natal chart as well).
So! In ancient times the Sun-Regulus link evoked the heavy responsibility of acting as God's regent and this is my trouble--seeing Uranian snake oil salesman Donald Trump as a man capable of handling such a weighty task on behalf of Heaven and Earth. For to me, the self-styled "old fashioned playboy" seems the epitome of imperfection and is apparently uninterested in heavenly things--his treasure is on Earth and he acts proud of his faith-in-the-temporary attitude at the exclusion of the Eternal. Yet the Sun-Regulus tradition enjoyed by ancient Egyptian pharoahs and centuries of past kings spawned the idea of rule by 'divine right' which doesn't seem too off-the-mark for Mr. Trump to use with his narcissistic mentality--to his own advantage.
How the Zionists of Israel (who may be ignoring the 70-year Prophecy for all I know!) will use Trump as a tool for their own purposes remains to be seen as 2018 hurdles along toward 2019 and the fulfillment of Time for he and his announcement concerning Jerusalem have already played a role in the fig tree symbolism which according to Scripture culminates in 2018 and which Mayan Prophecy says ends with a cataclysm..

Transit Saturn's Three Major Aspects to Outer Planets 2018--2020

If you've wondered what old man Saturn, the lesson bringer and task master, has in store for society while traversing his own sign of Capricorn you're not alone. It's been approximately 26 years since the 'old devil' visited his natural domain of the Zodiac, agent of change that he is, and a few rules may be in order. Not my rules or yours, but rules of the Saturnian kind. After all, no one evades the universal law of karma and reaping what was sown must be dealt with by us all. So for those who have followed dutiful, dignified Saturn's directives and demands in the past (also his domain!), long lasting rewards are on the way for long hours of hard work. Or at least, that's one of the the more positive potentials on the 2018--2020 horizon.
Of course, in a natal horoscope planet Saturn's sign reveals our 'fatal flaw' and also describes something about our deepest fear. Saturn's house placement is important as well when assessing how a general transit will affect our lives but since I primarily write about mundane topics here let's consider Saturn in Capricorn, sign of government, law, and business and what its transit may portend. Perhaps a peek at outer planets in angular relationship to Saturn as his Capricorn visit plods on can provide a few clues on what to expect with Saturn's societal influences. Naturally, the planet's rule of structure, systems, form, reality, and time will be affected in various ways, or will be 'on the schedule' so to speak.
Transpersonal Planets Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto with Saturn 2018--2020
During his stay in Capricorn, Saturn makes three quite easy aspects to the three outer planets. By sign, Saturn will trine Uranus, and the pair representing the past and the future will get along in general and support creative activities with Uranian ideas, ideals, and inventions fitting well into Saturnian form and are therefore more likely to become reality. This works best when transit Uranus is in Taurus, sign of the builder and the preserver. As you know, status quo Saturn, planet of The Establishment, likes to preserve and conserve so it would be wonderful if the current GOP push toward damaging the environment for the sake of exploiting natural resources was placed back under control in spite of the current Trump administration's dismantling of regulations that protect us.
And although Saturn in Capricorn can be dampening or restrictive to markets and commerce via Saturn's aversion to risk and tendency toward austerity measures, the Saturn-Uranus influence when in effect may benefit business and finance particularly in relation to group and organizational matters. Yes, the economy may continue its upward direction, for a while at least, though some of its more bubbly aspects have been concerning of late due to past transgressions and crimes committed by that gambling casino they call 'Wall Street' ('wall' being a Saturnian word, Uranus = technology) so another crash prior to 2020 cannot be completely ruled out for bubbles always burst, after all. But maybe that's just me, a rather typical fretting Capricorn!
Of course in personal finances benefits will depend upon Saturn and Uranus placements and aspects in natal charts which is beyond the scope of this post, as noted.
During this time frame, transit Saturn will also form an opportunistic sextile with nebulous, dreamy Neptune, planet of fraud, falsehood, and idealism. A Saturn-Neptune sextile period is great for creative projects including music and visionary imaginations may soar under its influence. Charitable organizations may be more in focus along with addiction issues (much needed!) and spiritual quests and interests--also needed in our society. Practicing discrimination between fantasy and reality will continue to be an issue as fakery (Neptune) vs truth (Saturn) gets in the way of progress and 'getting to the bottom of things' remains difficult as preferred by some propagandists who use such tactics against society.
A general interest in Mythology may flourish as it did in a bygone era and those with a talent for long-range planning are in their element under this sextile though following through with decisions may be somewhat difficult since concentration can ebb and flow like the waves of a Neptunian sea. Plus, priorities may be continually revised which adds to the follow-through problem and some folk may paint rosy pictures in order to cover up real problems and avoid or procrastinate about dealing with them.
And since the Saturn-Neptune pair relates to the ill, weak, elderly, and/or suffering among us, we can expect such discussions to continue but perhaps with more compassion than the usual political hard-heartedness for Neptune is softening and likes to merge with others while Saturn can be hard, cold, isolating, frugal, calculating, and just plain mean. As you know, our already tattered social safety net is under siege now in Washington and the reality of Americans hungry in the streets due to cutbacks for the sake of wealthy corporate types is an outrageous possibility. How many times must the old guns vs butter concept be debated in America?

On the societal level, another negative potential of a Saturn-Neptune sextile is invasion (Neptune) of boundaries (Saturn) which is somehow made more possible due to the opportunities a sextile (60) aspect creates. This applies on a personal level as well (ex: personal space) but also to refugees, and to those who invade countries (militarily or otherwise), or who infiltrate them and/or their governments. Spies and secret agents are implied and of course cyber crimes may be involved for secretive, insinuating Neptune rules nets and networks of all sorts and Saturn has his blocking function and a demand for control. Yet limits must still apply for even moderation must be moderated.
Then when transit Saturn and Pluto sextile one another, those in the legal professions, journalism, and research and development are favored. Control and the grasping and holding of power are issues on the table which sounds more negative than positive to me although you may disagree. During this period, sticking to budgets will be very important though too much austerity delays progress. Also important will be more intense levels of advocacy of causes such as defending the rights of those who are oppressed, exploited, and victimized (for they will be). And if we can avoid obsessing over piddly details we'll fare better under this sextile for necessary adjustments are more difficult to achieve when rules are too rigid or inflexible.

And if you feel daring, why not look ahead to a brand new Saturn-Pluto cycle (of appr 33 years) beginning January 12, 2020 when the hardship and cruelty pair meet (at same degree same minute same second as calculated by Solar Fire Gold v9) in the Cosmos @22Cap46. And with both planets considered 'karmic' we may wish to consider the Conjunction horoscope and thus the Vertex, a point of fated encounters.

The natal horoscope of 'political scientist' and Trump Senior Advisor Stephen Miller has a Rodden Rating of AA (BC/BR in hand) if you're curious about the guy some are blaming for influencing Donald Trump's intransigence on immigration issues during current congressional negotiations. Senator Lindsey Graham is one such casting shade upon Stephen Miller for his outside-the-mainstream opinions on DACA and other immigration issues--and for his influence on the rule-by-whim Mr. Trump. Here's today's Bloomberg update on the shutdown.
Stephen Miller August 23, 1985 4:53 pm PDT Santa Monica, California (RR: AA). Hour of the Moon (fluctuations, changes); Moon out-of-bounds (faulty or distressing relationship with Mother); Moon conjunct Uranus (intuitive, seeks emotional excitement, erratic mood changes, extreme emotions, often cranky and irritable). Tellingly, Sun in Virgo (@00:46 in 8th house of the Occult--other metaphysical and occult factors are shown elsewhere, see his PE, below) indicates a mother-ruled child. Sun sextile Pluto (shared with Trump) denotes those whose deep desire is to control the world, are self-reliant, and base their lives on winning vs losing (see his Pluto conjunct MC, below)
His Earth-Fire personality blend is known as a 'bull-dozer' who may push his moral certitude upon others. Dictatorial and insensitive to other people, Mr. Miller values rationality over human suffering while shoving through his preferred political policies (Sun Sign-Moon, Charles and Suzi Harvey).
A bright note is a first-house Jupiter Rx in Aquarius (9:36) denoting social concerns, a broad intellect, and a knowledge of human nature. Yet the placement also adds self-will and a potential for indecisiveness (Ebertin).
A Caution from Royal Regulus
Also in Mr. Miller's natal chart, we find Moon in Sagittarius (11:14), sign of immigration and foreigners so one may be tempted to think his interest and hard line views are emotionally based. Sun @00Vir46 conjoins royal star Regulus--and the natal Ascendant of Donald Trump--both of which were 'eclipsed' on August 21, 2017 by The Great American Eclipse. As you know, Regulus is the 'kingmaker' star and when conjoining a natal planet can denote an individual with a 'king complex'. Now you and I both know that Mr. Trump is the epitome of this narcissistic, me-first psychological complex and apparently Mr. Miller is a victim of it as well. His Mercury in proud, royal Leo adds to his thinking on the topic of 'rulership' and the right to attain and wield it. So these days, it seems the divine right of kings is alive in the White House! However, Regulus always contains an important cosmic caution: success if revenge is avoided. Otherwise, gains will be taken away.
Yet the planet of dreams, visions, and ideals--Neptune--conjoins one of the Cardinal World Points of fame, fortune, and recognition on the world stage (00Cap56 Rx) in the 12th house of...Politics and Karma. As you know, Saturn-ruled Capricorn is the sign of government, law, and business. In support, his Mercury-Mars conjunction in brash Leo suggests strong political opinions and a tendency to quarrel over them, perhaps in a self-interested fashion (Leo).
Now with Saturn-ruled Capricorn rising, Stephen Miller may have had a hard road during his early years and even now seems older than his mere 32 years would suggest. A Saturnine expression seems always on his face--perhaps because a Capricorn Ascendant suggests discipline, austerity, plans formulated secretly, and a reserved demeanor (frowny!) Everything Mr. Miller does must have a definite purpose and serve a pragmatic end. In short, if you're looking for fun, a barrel of monkeys Stephen Miller is not. And note that the Virgo-Pisces victim-savior axis is intercepted in his natal chart suggesting a cosmic imperative to deal with such issues during his life time. this relates to a Mercury-Jupiter opposition which squares his Nodal axis (public contacts) and indicates one who is indiscreet (similar to Mr. Trump with his Mercury-Neptune square), holds illogical beliefs, feels intellectually superior, tends to over-promise (like Trump), and becomes flustered when under scrutiny for his memory fails him under stress. We saw this recently in one of his TV appearances with Jake Tapper. Here's Seth Myers speaking with Mr. Tapper, who's known Stephen Miller for years, discussing Miller and the cut-short interview.
Chart-ruler Saturn in 10th house (@22Sco08) makes no applying aspects in the chart though there is an applying Mars-Saturn square (see the aspect, below). Natal Saturn in Scorpio adds to his Saturnine demeanor a serious attitude, obstinacy, and a tendency to probe deeply into metaphysical subjects and to apply such principles in a practical manner.
Venus and Pluto
Perhaps the most prominent chart factor in his chart is, of course, Pluto @2Sco26 conjunct MC, the Goal-Aspiration Point. This supports his Sun-Pluto sextile 'control' implications and also his metaphysical and occult interests (like Hitler!) Actually, the shape of his natal planets show Venus @25Can05 as leader of a Locomotive pattern of high-powered success, a pattern which may ride roughshod over others in order to achieve its goals. His 7th house Venus has only a separating trine with authoritarian Saturn (in 10th house = a fall from grace? plus, Saturn-Pluto = SN in 10th house) so a sense of loyalty may be evident along with a reserved, even cold, demeanor. At 25Cancer, Miller's Venus precisely conjoins Mr. Trump's Venus in Cancer with Trump's Saturn nearby. Is theirs a long-lasting love match?
Politics and Gut Feelings
And ruling Mr. Miller's 3rd house of Communications via Aries and his 10th house of Career and Public Status via Scorpio is Mars which forms a square with Saturn (3A00). This aspect can indicate a career in Politics although it also indicates difficulty relating to others. Sullen anger, resentment, callousness, and an austere disposition may be noticed, plus, a Mars-SAturn square can attract potentials for accidents or even violence. Another suggestion here is restrictions in career matters (which some Americans think is a good thing).
Another chart factor spread across Miller's chart is high intuition of which he apparently has gracious plenty. Besides, his visionary, impractical Sun-Neptune trine (0A10), one such indicator is his Prenatal Solar Eclipse Saros Series, the 5 North which, prior to his birth, manifested on May 19, 1985 @28Tau50 (among the Pleiades constellation and its difficult stars of rage and fury). 5 North themes include hunches, prophetic dreams, and deep insights (Brady), and it last manifested in 1985, as noted. The next occurrence of a 5 North Solar Eclipse will be on June 10, 2021 @20Gemini.
Taken all together, I'd have to say that Stephen Miller is a cantankerous blend most noticeably under the sway of three prominent chart factors: his Moon-Uranus conjunction, a problematic Mars-Saturn square, a Sun-Pluto sextile, and powerful Pluto in occult Scorpio at Midheaven. Disagree if you wish, but there it is.
Well, there are many more chart factors for Stephen Miller that are worth consideration and for brevity's sake, I hope you'll study the natal horoscope of Mr. Trump's Senior Advisor if you haven't already!

Jan 20 2018 Government Shutdown = Trump 1st Anniversary

After last night's flub on the Senate floor resulting in the government shutdown official at 12:01 am est January 20, 2018, today's first anniversary of the 2017 Trump inauguration hints at a difficult year ahead. For astrologers, the familiar planetary pattern, the YOD, may describe the R vs D stand-off and Donald Trump's turn from accepting a bi-partisan bill that included funding for his highly touted 'wall' and, sure enough, we find a YOD pattern in today's Solar Return horoscope of Trump's January 2017 Inauguration which may be viewed here. That's if we accept the North Node as apex of the sextile between Moon and Mercury but given current conditions in Washington DC, I'm willing to accept the pattern as a YOD if you are.
YOD = crisis, special task, crossroads, turning point, opportunity for karmic progress.
Perhaps the question is, what are the effects of a Moon-Mercury pairing in Politics and Business? In US Mundane Astrology, we know Moon = We The People, or The Public, and Luna's sign indicates the prevailing public mood (Pisces = confused--and compassionate toward all those who will be harmed by the US Congress not doing its constitutional duty to appropriate). Mercury represents many things such as negotiations, agreements, dealing, trading, communications, commerce, messages, votes, young people, and tricksterism.
Together Moon-Mercury denotes such potentials as: propaganda efforts (each party blaming the other for the shutdown--I see them both to blame but with Mr. Trump behind the curtain throwing a monkey wrench into the deal--he loves to cause quarrels); generating excitement among people on behalf of popular causes; restlessness among the population over business and commerce; compiling and analyzing attitudes of the people (aka, polls).
Well, the House is in session this morning and the Senate gavels in at noon as I type. Mr. Trump's big anniversary party tonight at Mar-a-Lago is on hold until this stalemate is resolved which could be the strongest leverage for forcing a bill signing from the legislatively challenged Mr. Trump.

Trump's Mar-a-Lago and 1 North Solar Eclipses 1927-2017
Donald Trump's private club Mar-a-Lago located in Palm Beach, Florida has more history behind it than I'd first imagined. Do you know the original construction of the grandiosity was completed in 1927? And that Mr. Trump finagled a lower price from the sellers via an element of trickery before he purchased the property? (Well, that one you could intuit, right? Sharp deal maker that he is and all.)
Curiously, year 1927 brought a manifestation of a Solar Eclipse in the 1 North Saros Series, the series we currently labor under since August 21, 2017. That occurrence of a 1 North is known as, 'The Great American Eclipse' and it 'eclipsed' Donald Trump's natal Ascendant @29Leo and occurred very near his rising Mars @26Leo. As you know, 1 North is called The Mother of All Eclipses because it is the first in the 18.6-year cycle of solar eclipses. In August 1999, a repetition of a 1 North acted as the 'Nostradamus Eclipse' prognosticated hundreds of years ago but more significantly the August 11, 1999 eclipse is mentioned in The Book of Revelation with its Fixed Grand Cross at mid-degrees of the Fixed signs: Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius...the Oxen Point, Lion Point, Eagle Point, and Angel Point.
So I have to say that 1 North Solar Eclipses are a big deal. As you know, the 1999 version helped to usher in the New Millennium and, according to Scripture, marks the time that the angels 'let go the winds of war'. Have you felt a difference in the Collective tenor these last 19 years? Certainly, US Politics and most of its purveyors cannot be trusted to act on behalf of We The People any longer assuming that they ever could be completely trusted to do so (founding plutocrats, etc). Foreign manipulators rule the day and elected/selected officials take their Oaths and their orders from a higher power than We The People which seems obvious to me if not to either of you. Meanwhile, Pluto marches on toward America's first ever Pluto Return in 2022, destroying and transforming structures, systems, and traditions as he creeps along.
Now the 1 North Solar Eclipse that occurred in 1927 on June 29th @7Cancer fell among America's natal Venus (3 Cancer), Jupiter (6 Cancer), and Sun (13 Cancer) with Jupiter being exalted in Moon-ruled Cancer, a business sign on the Security axis opposite Saturn-ruled Capricorn, sign of government and law. And of course it wasn't long before the Crash of 1929 wiped out the fortunes and lives of many people, investors and others alike.

Perhaps 2 New North eclipse energies refer to the global economic system on course for demolition and rebuilding in The Dragon's image, and/or, on another level, to Donald Trump's much touted, now weakened 'empire' of gilt and illusion. May 2018: Trump's New Moon, Manafort's Trial, Uranus into Taurus
And so this lunation in the image you see before you represents the start of a new cycle of activity especially for those affected by lunar influences (Trump), as naturally suggested by a New Moon in money sign Taurus with, glory be, a major outlet for these Venusian lunar energies spilling out at Mr. Trump's globally visible MC. However, the three days prior to this New Moon of May 15, 2018 are the 'dark of the moon' phase when things go bump in the night and shady behavior can go unnoticed or be inconveniently revealed. (New and Full Moons may act in similar Uranian fashion as Solar and Lunar Eclipses if various factors make conditions ripe; therefore, 'secrets may be uncovered', 'cover-ups may no longer serve', 'something abruptly ends', and/or 'unexpected events cause changes of direction' just as with those 'wild cards of the Universe', eclipses.) Also note that Trump's MC is affected by a certain fated-karmic asteroid/archetype, Phaethon. He's a fated fellow and an 'eclipse baby', too.
Also in his natal chart, the asteroid of retaliation, Tisiphone, conjoins his problematic SN-Moon conjunction in Sagittarius conjunct Ras Alhague, a star which prefers a restoration of balance, or a healing. Apparently on a socio-cultural level, Mr. Trump thinks he's restoring balance but, to the distress of the rest of humanity, only knows how to achieve a balance of sorts through retaliating, by taking revenge.
Yet paradoxically, Trump's Mars rises in Leo with royal star Regulus, with a caution that says, success if revenge is avoided. If not, all that has been gained will be lost. It's a cosmic, heavenly command, a natural law! Even a man such as Trump, born with asteroid/archetype Apollo rising (the 'sun god'), must himself bow to natural law eventually if not sooner and will reap whatever in the world he has sown.
So Will the Month of May 2018 in America Be Merry Merry?
How does any of this cosmic stuff figure in to the legal situation with Special Counsel Robert Mueller asking for a May 14th trial date? I mean the trial of Trump associate Paul Manafort and the other guy, Gates. Well, the timing may seem 'off' by a day but cosmically speaking, May 14th is pretty darn close to the May 15th New Moon, and to tech-savvy Uranus entering Taurus--both events signifying new directions or activities--for Trump, Manafort, Gates, Mueller, and the rest of the players in this particular Political Theater drama, the outcome of which is sure to matter to millions of people whether they pay attention to the proceedings or not.
As for Donald Trump, we know that, based on his intuitive, quirky manner of behavior, Mr. Trump is very much led by his 'guiding planet' (oriental), his 10th house Uranus @17Gem53, which was conjoined by the 2004 Venus Transit' see the horoscope of its mate, the Venus Transit of 2012 which fell earlier in the Zodiac @15Gem44--and it was the last Venus Transit until year 2117! At the time we discussed in various posts on this very blog the Transit's resonance with 'strong-armed paternalism' which is what we now see from Trump'n'Company and cheered on by their bigoted alt-right supporters. You expected different from over-promising deal-maker and bankrupt king Trump who has called himself the King of Debt? Puh! Not you!
Meanwhile, based on the natural lunar cycle, can the Manafort Trial begin under the influence of (and be symbolized by) the Taurus New Moon conjunct Trump's natal Midheaven (Trump is the goal!)? Yes, but can the proceedings end with the next lunation, the Full Moon of May 29, 2018 @8Sag10? Probably not since two weeks will be too brief a time for such a trial to play out (assuming it occurs at all) and yet a Full Moon is the fulfillment-culmination-awareness phase that book-ends a New Moon so, perhaps. But in Washington DC there are players and operatives who must be seen to 'work' for their money even though bribes, favors, and pay-offs rule most transactions with blackmail and intimidation always lurking 'round the corner, trying hard to stay out of sight of the public eye.
And this is one reason yours truly appreciates Astrology as a lens through which to investigate the dark squirmy critters hiding under Washington DC rocks (and beds) for we know that sunlight, via Solar Eclipses and often Lunar Eclipses, is, as they so often say, the best disinfectant.
But Did I Mention Donald Trump?
You know, this was never an auspicious time for Donald Trump to begin such a large project (whether he knew it was large, or not) of playing US POTUS while he labored under a Balsamic phase of the Moon via Secondary Progressions. Balsamic phases (which occur just prior to a Progressed New Moon) are periods of endings and partings and can be a rather difficult few years emotionally and otherwise. And no one can deny that Mr. Trump has experienced quite a few endings and partings since entering the White House as Uranian-in-Chief, chaos creator extraordinaire. But, let's try to be fair to this Libran Jupiter fellow--more or less trying to run the US government and an administration as if the whole shebang is part of a mafia organization cannot be easy no matter how many mob ties you have, foreign and domestic.
Note: besides manifesting near red star Antares (the Heart of the Scorpion; Watcher of the West), the May 29, 2018 Full Moon @8Sag10 shines brightly upon The Fed's New Moon of 1910. Publicity concerning the Fed may be noticed around that time along with other financial concerns and matters of war--not unusual but prominent.
